Shaker Heights - amy smart, coming of age

The Battle of Shaker Heights

I have never watched Project Greenlight. There I said it. I happened upon this movie and I'm glad I did. To me it's only of minor importance how this movie was funded and made, because the end product matters most. And the end product is much better than many would lead you to believe. You just have to know what kind of movie watcher you are. If you love independent films and don't mind slow and nuanced acting and a story with no cheap thrills, you can enjoy this. If you like more traditional movie experiences, you might find this treatment a bit slow.

Shia LaBoeuf shows why he is the "next big thing" of his generation in a very subtle and impressive portrayal of the main character. As Kelly he's an extremely over-intelligent high school kid who channels his brain power into nerdy pursuits like World War II history and military memorablia. Elden Henson is Bart, his fast friend from the better-off side of town. When he meets Bart's older sister Tabby, he develops a crush for a girl way out of his league, something every boy in high school is familiar with.

All the while, he works at the supermarket with Sarah, played well by Shiri Appleby, who would have clearly been an easier target for him. All of these relationships are a back drop to the frustration we see Kelly experience from his family life, with a father battling his demons and a mother fighting to hold it together.

William Sadler and Ray Wise round out what really is an all star cast. And even though the slow is made in a slow and deliberate way, the cast of this movie is really one of the treats. They all perform exceptionally well, even in parts that are written sparsely.

I think they definitely captured the angst of high school in a way that was honest and real. These are not typical kids, but that makes it all the more easy to understand why a character like Kelly might not fit in and might act out. Sure they could have fleshed this one out more, but I guess all those Damon and Affleck connections helped to cast this one well enough to more than make up for it.

If you enjoy slow and introspective independent films, or are a fan of Shia LaBoeuf, you will find lots to like in this movie.

Enjoy! The Battle of Shaker Heights

Under normal circumstances, one would not think much of this movie. It's a nice coming-of-age story about a 17-year-old boy (wonderfully played by Shia LaBeouf), but there's nothing spectacular about it. His relationships with his parents and his potential love interests are not fully developed, and the viewer doesn't necessarily buy into what they try to tell us. It's been done before, and it's been done better. But, if you watched the Project Greenlight series on HBO, it's a must-see. It's fun to see how all the scenes turned out. The much-debated group hug no longer exists--if it did, you'd walk out of the theater or turn of the TV. A big thank you to producer Chris Moore for getting rid of that. All in all, it's a "Sunday Afternoon Movie". It's the kind of movie you watch on a Sunday afternoon when it's raining outside and all you want to do is sit on the recliner and eat popcorn while someone tells you a story for an hour or so.

Shia Lebeouf plays Kelly Ernswiler, a high school senior trying to just survive life in this comedy-drama by directors Efram Potelle and Kyle Rankin in what is arguably there biggest job yet. Kelly is a young man who enjoys reinacting famous battles from past wars. This is partly a way of reliving history, and a partly a way of escaping life with his recovering drug addict father, played by William Sadler of The Green Mile, and his mother, played by Kathleen Quinlen from Apollo 13. Kelly still hasn't found a way to forgive his father for his past abuses, so he prefers to spend the day with his new friend Bart Rowland and his wealthy family. Bart and Kelly strike up a friendship over their shared love of history and Kelly's desire to strike back at a school bully. Along the way, Kelly finds himself attracted to Bart's older sister, Tabby, a girl engaged to another man, which threatens to destroy their friendship. This is a very rich coming-of-age story with characters you can't help falling in love with. Kelly's character is complex, and there are times you want to strangle him, but you feel his heart is in the right place. Shia Lebeouf does a tremendous job in his role. After Holes and Charlie's Angels, you can feel that this young man has a great future ahead of him. The supporting cast played their roles perfectly, and the script was very welldone. From the minute you start watching this film, you can't take your eyes off of it. It didn't get 5 stars due to the lack of extras. Being a Project Greenlight winner, you would think that they would have had plenty of material. Given that and the short 77 minute running time, it loses a star. Overall though, I highly recommend this film if you want to see a perfectly well-rounded movie that has very few flaws.

I watched Project Greenlight when Battle of Shaker Heights was featured. Getting a fly-on-the-wall perspective of the movie making process was fascinating. The show allowed a glimpse of the angst the writer experienced having her story re-written a few times to suit the directors' vision. Conflicts between the directors and the writer and producers as well as Mirimax execs made it seem the movie would not finish successfully.Sadly, the movie was only released in a limited number of cities and theaters, and probably wasn't the blockbuster hit originally hoped for. I believe the movie was a huge success in a couple of ways: great writing and super acting by Shia LeBeouf. Witty subtleties in the dialogue can be attributed to brilliant writing. I hope Erica, the writer (also listed in the credits as a bridesmaid), didn't have to compromise as much as it seems she did during the course of Project Greenlight.I think this was a breakthrough performance for Shia. He artfully and comically captured Kelly's (his character) intriguing mix of angst, passion, self-deprecating humor, knowledge and intellect. I was captivated by his passion, pitied him for being a bully target, and was mad at him for his resentment aimed at his freshly sober dad.The movie was lacking in plot and character development, especially the relationship between Kelly and his father. This, I believe, was due in great part to editing, and not the original story. Another area I felt the movie lacked was the crush Kelly had on his best friend's sister. It didn't seem particularly believable and more awkward than anything. Hooray that in the end Kelly chose his friend-coworker. That was a much more believable and endearing match.Though I wouldn't categorize the movie as Oscar-worthy, all in all, it was very sweet and cleanly pulled together. It held my attention and left me loving and empathizing with Kelly. - Battle - Coming Of Age - Ben Affleck - Amy Smart'

Ipod Touch 3g - apple, ipod

Before i start let me just tell you "what's New" with the iPod touch Third generation" :

-Faster Cpu/Double the ram/Better graphic (faster Boot time/faster loading is all what i did notice)

-Double the storage for the same old price

-Voice control (I'll explain it in a second)

-Latest firmware for free

-New Earbuds with built in remote+Microphone (So you can use voice control)

And that is everything~ depends on your needs upgrading from 2G to 3G might be not worth it.

*Important Note* : only the New iPod touch 32GB/64GB are third generation ~ (8GB is repacked 2G) Details below.

About the new Voice control function, if you love to take your iPod with you to the Gym the new feature "Voice control" is pretty cool, it does allow you to control your music via your voice, no need to get the iPod out of your pocket you can simply say "Next" to move to next song, say "shuffle" for shuffle , say "Pause" and music playback will stop etc, that is why i recommend the iPod touch over iPod classic for gym users, my friend bought an iPod classic and now he complains that the iPod classic is too heavy for him when he goes to the gym and he will have to buy another iPod "properly Nano" for his Gym, for me i use my iPod touch for the gym, it's so light that sometimes i forgot that it's even in my pocket.

After playing with my iPod touch 3g for a while i honestly did not notice any difference from the outside or the inside compared to my old iPod touch Second generation (It's supposed to be faster but i did not notice anything during music and video playback or the menus, however browsing with safari and loading facebook was faster, same thing with boot time), you properly can only notice it being faster with heavy applications since video/music playback is already fast enough with 2G.

I got the 64GB iPod 3G for [...]$, if you think of upgrading your 2G iPod touch honestly do yourself a favor and save yourself the money unless you really need that much of a storage (I do that is why i bought one), also remember that the 3G battery lasts less than 2G,(3G battery = 30 Hours of music playback versus 2G 36 hours of music playback according to apple official specs)

*VERY IMPORTANT* for the people who wants the new 8GB version, the new third generation 8GB iPod touch is NOT 3G it's a second generation iPod touch but apple did repack it/renamed it to 3rd generation, which seems to be misleading by APPLE and it's not cool at all, it is IPod Touch 2G+Updated firmware and that is it.

The iPod touch 3rd generation 32GB/64GB versions comes with a free mic+remote with the earbuds while the 8GB do not (it comes with normal earbuds), the 32GB/64GB have the New CPU+Graphic (According to apple the new cpu is twice as fast just like the iPhone 3GS) while the new 8GB use the same old CPU/Chip from the old iPod touch second generation.

Here is APPLE description on the iPod touches page about the 32/64GB versions : """Enjoy all the great features of the 8GB model along with better performance, richer graphics and voice control"""

The iPod touch 3rd generation is the same awesome iPod touch second generation was.

You can play your music/watch your videos/play games, even read your kindle books/etc "you can read amazon big description of what it's capable of if you do not know yet, it's better than what would i say because it has pictures and everything.

The iPod touch got the best browser i have ever seen in a portable device, i do not even need to carry my netbook with me anymore thanks to my iPod touch, if you hated browsing with lame browsers that crash a lot or slow (many mobile phones) trust me on this one, the iPod touch browser is not a toy or a gimmick it is a browser you can depends on, it's super fast and smooth and after using it for like a full year it has only crashed on me once!

Short list of pros and cons about the iPod touch

Pros:

-Slick,small and light device

-Great touch screen

-The BEST web browser on a portable device

-Amazing video/music playback

-App Store (Too many cool applications for Free)

-Display screen is clear and bright

-No bugs and annoying stuff a very reliable hardware

-64GB Flash based mp3 player

Cons:

-Not much of an upgrade over 2G (people were disappointed because they did not get upgrades like camera/OLED/etc)

-Weaker battery, only lasts 30 hours for music playback versus 2G iPod touch 36 Hours music playback

-Expensive for the 64GB version

-Still no FM radio without the use of online applications

-Bluetooth is still half locked

Update : one more reason to avoid the 8GB ipod touch, Apple announced today "April 09 2010" that iPhone 4.0 OS will be released this summer and it will bring many new features to the iphone and ipod touch, however some features like Multitasking will only be available for iphone 3GS and higher or Ipod touch third generation and higher (As i said before the 8GB is second Generation only, a third generation 8gb ipod touch do not exist! so you wont be getting multitasking if you buy the 8GB ipod touch),

I hope my review was helpful :) Apple iPod touch 8 GB (2nd Generation--with iPhone OS 3.1 Software Installed) [OLD MODEL]

This is my first iPod and MP3 player. So far I've had the iPOD TOUCH (32-GIG/3RD GEN) for two-weeks and I'm loving it.

It's does so much more than just play music, which is why I wanted one. I'm not a Mac person at all but the iPod Touch...I love it.

Out of the box it found my Wi-Fi connection and had me surfing the net (the real Internet and not the cell phone web pages like the one on my Verizon phone). It was intuitive to use and I'm finally getting accustomed to using the touch screen to scroll and type away.

This review is mostly for other iPod newbies like myself. Here's what it comes with:

***The iPod Touch- slick and smooth and very thin

***A USB Cable- this hooks your iPod to your computer to recharge the battery and to sync it with iTunes.

***Plastic Docking Thing- this is a small plastic part that allows you to dock the iPod to an external device (I'm not sure what).

***Head Phones with Microphone and external volume control.

***Teeny-tiny insert- with bare-bones info. You have to access the full manual, which is available for free download in PDF format, at the apple website.

My advice is to buy an external cover for the iPod--the 2nd Generation iPod Touch skins/cover fit the new 3rd Generation ones because the body is the same--and buy a screen protector so you keep the screen free from scratches and such. I already scratched the shiny back of my iPod just by placing it down on the table so be careful when you first get it if you don't have a cover for it.

As long as you have Wi-Fi (wireless Internet connection) in your house/apt you can get full use out of the iPod Touch. You can also access free Wi-Fi hotspots in stores, restaurants, and other areas, so you can get on the Internet and download applications (apps) etc., check your email, go on facebook, youtube, even Amazon has an app, that can be downloaded onto the iPod.

The iPod Touch is configured to automatically search for Wi-Fi networks, it looks for both either locked (need a password) or unlocked (no password) networks, and displays them in the settings for "Wi-Fi." You really don't have to know anything about Wi-Fi to get it started. You just pick one of them and it connects to it.

I've tried my iPod at some hotspots like a shopping center with a Starbucks and it found the Wi-Fi and connected but since a lot of people were using it, it took a while to connect.

You need the program iTunes, which is a free down-loadable program for Windows or Mac, and an iTunes account to purchase and download the apps (most are free but you still need an account to download them). If you've used iTunes before for buying song downloads or just to register then you already have a login account...if you haven't used iTunes before it's free to download and easy to install. Then you sign up for an account which is also free, unless you plan on purchasing songs or videos.

The pluses on the iPod Touch:

===== Applications (Apps) =====

The apps are a plenty on the iPod Touch and there's an app for everything (practically). They're arranged by category like games, news, productivity, etc., and are furthered displayed by best selling, top-free, and release date. You can also search by keyword or check out the most popular and featured apps.

Some apps are free and some cost a one time fee of between $.99-$4.99 and up. If you're a news junkie like me, you'll really love it. I've downloaded Time Magazine, NPR (radio and print stories), BBC READER, New York Times, USA Today, AP (Associated Press) and ABC News...all for free!

I really like that the BBC Reader will download their stories into the cache memory, once you connect via Wi-Fi so you can read the articles offline (when Wi-Fi is not available). NYT and AP will allow you to save articles that you can read offline as well. And the AP will deliver breaking news as long as you're connected... ALL FREE!!!

I've downloaded a dictionary, spell checker, facebook, Grimm's Fairytales and Alice In Wonderland books to read...all for FREE! I also got this free app called "Pandora" which is a radio station that will only play songs by artists that you want to hear. Too cool!

I know that I sound like a broken record with the "free" stuff but being a Verizon Wireless user, I'm sure other VZW customers feel me, I'm amazed that one can download and install quality, portable applications onto a device for no charge or subscription plan.

===== Other Fun Stuff =====

Calendar for appointments etc., contact phone book, clock, weather, calculator (you can download a free tip-calculator), notes and maps. These all come with the iPod Touch.

iTunes will keep the stuff (music, apps, videos) on your iPod, backed-up on your computer so you'll always have a copy of those things. And you can tell it which play-lists to sync so that you don't have to carry around your entire music/video library from your computer on the portable.

Anyway, I'm loving my iPod Touch and it was the perfect birthday gift to myself. It really is like having a mini-computer with you at all times. The only thing that's missing is a camera, but that's not a big deal at all. It's great for people who want an iPhone, but don't want AT&T's lousy service. I also love not having to pay a monthly subscription charge to Verizon for apps on my cell phone, now that I have the iPod Touch!

The only thing I would advise getting--in addition to the iPod--is the cover protector skin and screen protector mentioned earlier, and the Apple USB Power Adapter which will allow you to plug the USB cord into an electrical outlet (though it isn't necessary, it charges a lot faster than when it's charging from your computer).

Since this is my first iPod, I don't know how it stacks up against the previous versions. But this one is great and really addicting! So if you've been wondering if you should get one and you don't have an iPhone, have access to Wi-Fi, then I'd say...yes! The iPod Touch has so much to offer the user that you can find something to do with it even if you don't plan on using it as an MP3 player all that much.

*** A Note About iTunes ***

Even if you don't buy MP3s--I've only purchased about three from iTunes; the rest was from Amazon through credits from special purchases and iPod can play them--iTunes is really handy because it makes taking songs from CDs so easy by capturing them and turning them into MP3s. The program will even retrieve song and artist information for you so you don't have to label the file once you import it. From there you can make your own playlists and burn your own CDs from those playlists, not to mention carrying them on your iPod, so it's definitely worth it and really easy to use. - Ipod - Apple - 3rd Generation - Ipod Touch 3g'

Carrying Case For Garmin Nuvi - gps, nuvi case

This case is supposed to fit my 5" Garmin nuvi 1450 - and it does, but just barely. I would have liked a little more length. There is enough depth to be able to fit the USB cable and maybe the instruction guide in the pocket. My concern is this - how to best protect the GPS unit. There is an elastic strap and a mesh pocket inside the case. Because the fit is so snug, if I slide the unit under the strap with the screen toward the outside of the case, there is a risk of scratching the screen on the zipper. If I slide it in with the screen toward the center of the case, then there is nothing to protect the screen from damage from items in the pocket. If I put the unit in the pocket, I have similar concerns about protecting the screen, but now I have only an elastic strap to hold additional items in place. So far, my solution has been not to use the pocket, but I think I'll find something to lay across the screen for protection. I was tempted to return the case and look for something with a better fit but it's otherwise a good case - just not the best fit for a 5" unit. It would probably be perfect for the 4.3" units. Case Logic MGPS-2 Professional GPS Case for up to 5-Inch Screens (Black)

My issue is with Amazons description. This is supposed to work with GPSs up to 5". The description on the case itself says 4.3" screens. I had ordered this with a TomTom XXL540T. I could not fit the TomTom in without forcing it. Definitely did not have room for anything else. The case itself is fine. It should be fine for smaller GPSs.

This case does exactly what it is supposed to do. It protects the GPS unit inside of it. It is small, compact, easy to open and close. Has a secure elastic strap inside for the GPS unit. Not much to comment on since it is so simple and works so well.

Has good padding, and a stiff outer ring, so as to really protect the unit. My unit is a Garmin 1350 wide screen, and it fits securely with a strap inside. Not much room for anything else, except a cleaning cloth (it comes with this), but good "box".

This case does exactly what it is supposed to do: It securely holds a 4.3 or 5.0 inch GPS in place and protects the screen. It allows me to toss my Garmin nuvi 265W into my pack with out fear of damage. Inside, a convenient elastic strap holds your GPS in place so it doesn't fall out when you unzip. Opposite the GPS, there is a mesh pocket that's handy for storing the included cleaning cloth. Though not a "hard shell" case by strict definition, the front that protects the screen is fairly rigid and molded such that sharp pressure in the middle will be distributed thus minimizing the potential for screen damage.

If lack of room for the kitchen sink wasn't evident from the product photo and description, you may need more help than a GPS can provide. Those wanting room for the GPS, car mount, car adapter, and other accessories should consider a larger camera bag with different compartments for "gadgets". The appeal of this case is in fact its compact size and screen protection.

I bought this to use with my new Garmin 1450LMT (5-inch screen) and it fits perfectly. There is a little extra room inside if you want to put the USB cable in with it. Holds the GPS system snug so it doesn't slide around inside (scratch screen). Mine also came with a small microfiber cloth to lay over the screen to protect it. I would recommend it to friends or family.

Got this case for free as a promotion for another product. Case Logic usually has nice cases, and this isn't an exception. The top (or front) of the case (seen in the item picture) is actually hard, which is a good thing. The bottom (or back) is stiff, but still has some give. No problem there. It comes with a micro-fiber cloth, which was a nice surprise.

The only con that I've found (which is mostly an opinion) is that a 5in TomTom GPS barely fits in it with the mount that comes with the TomTom (I don't want to leave it in the car, as it may prompt someone to 'look' for the GPS, even if I have it with me). Don't leave the mount on it? Them you have no problems, as even the car charger for the GPS should fit.

Also, it has a carabiner clip on the back, so you can clip it to things, though I wouldn't suggest clipping it to a belt loop or something, as you might damage whatever is in it.

This is a compact size GPS case. It can fit max 5 inch gps. My TT 540 fits in perfectly. Still, i would have like to have some more space or I would call it a best fit for 4.3 inch GPS. on other side, as it just fits up my 5" gps it doesn't eats up too much space in my dashboard pocket.

It has an inner mesh very small pocket, which can fit only a soft screen cleaning cloth. I can't think of anything else which can fit into that. There also an hard side top cover, this helps in protecting your GPS screen. I like this hard side thing.

In all I would suggest it as good buy for 4.3 - 5 inch GPS case at approx $10. - Nuvi Case - Carrying Case For Garmin Nuvi - Gps - Case'

Individual - memory, 2 gb

I purchased this memory to use on a Intel DP55WB Media Series P55 micro-ATX Core i7 Core i5 LGA1156 Desktop Motherboard. The motherboard seems to be picky and would not work with the Corsair memory that I originally tried. This memory is in the Intel approved list for the motherboard. I have been using the memory with no problems. Kingston ValueRAM 2 GB 1333MHz PC3-10600 DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory KVR1333D3N9/2G

when building a system I always look for Kingston compatible memory modules for better reliability and faster throughput. this memory is the fastest I have used so far and I trust just as reliable

I built this computer for my daughter to do gaming, she keeps calling and saying what a great system she has now. Always trust Kingston

I successfully paired these sticks with Kingston KVR1333D3K2/4GR from another retailer in a dual-channel RAM configuration. So that makes a total of 4 sticks, 8 GB. In order to take advantage of this much memory, I'm running a 64-bit operating system (as opposed to a 32-bit one).

These are DDR3 memory sticks, so be sure you have an AM3 motherboard if you like AMD processors, or whatever on the Intel side handles DDR3 if you go for Intel processors.

This generic memory works with my HP Pavilion p6610f computer. Customer service at HP said I should buy their memory, because other memory might not work. Kingston customer service wrote I should buy their product specific memory. Both of these RAMs cost much more than this one. I decided to go with this one on Amazon, because of their return policy in case it did not work, and I would save much money if it did. It works like a charm and my computer is much faster.

I have this installed in a Biostar A880G+ motherboard, works perfect except the motherboard recognizes this as DDR3-1066, when it should be DDR3-1333, but you can manually change it to DDR3-1333 in the bios.

This was a great product at a great price! They beat the price of CompUSA/TigerDirect and the other Amazon sellers big time! Negative: It took over two weeks to reach me. Time from order to ship was about 10 days though actual ship time was only 3 or 4; It was my understanding that they were out of stock. At that price I guess they must have been inundated by orders. I wish I had not been in urgent need of the item. I would have been pleased about the deal rather than angry about the delay. I wish I had had the money for another! I would have loved to have bought two! It works great. Buy this item. Perhaps they have a better stock reserve now.

Stick of 2 Gig worked. Was concerned about buying another stick of Kingston RAM; a recent Kingston DDR2 RAM purchase did not go so well. 1 of 2 sticks were bad. But the DDR3 stick I'm reviewing from this most recent purchase did work without issue.

Bought the valueRAM to match the RAM already installed in my ZT Systems computer from Costco. Increased 6 Gig to 8 Gig. If the RAM already installed in my desktop wasn't Kingston - and I wasn't trying to match the RAM, there's no way I'd buy Kingston - no matter how inexpensive it is...

So far I've bought 6 of these for various uses and not a single one has failed on me. I've been able to "OC" them to 1600MHz but I seriously doubt that makes any difference whatsoever, just needed it that high so my motherboard would feel it had enough for my OC'd processor. I'll keep buying this exact RAM until I get a new motherboard. - 2 Gb - Memory - Ddr3 1066 - Kingston'

Laser Printer - laserjet, laser printer

This toner cartridge is for the HP 1012 (and others). As fas as toner goes, this one lasts a long time. I use it often and for heavy duty printing, including resumes on resume paper, term papers for school on high quality laser paper, and websites, which usually contain images that come out in black and white, using up more toner. I would say that the toner gave me just about 2,500 sheets, and it is just now fading. When you balance the price of this printer with the price for toner every 2,500 sheets, it is a very good deal (less than 3 cents a page when calculating just the toner). My printer does not make any noise with this toner! If you have this printer, then you wont be sorry when using this toner replacement. HP Black LaserJet Print Cartridge - Q2612A

We have had the printer now for over a year. We do a lot of printing on it. It is absolutely the best printer we have ever had and works quietly with this cartridge. Our environment is not kind to electronics. The print is crisp, the cartridge lasts a LONG time - about 2800 sheets and no noise.

HP makes great printers and this cartridge provides long use and easy installation. I found after about 6 months of steady use that the toner was running low. I got another month of use by removing the cartridge and gently moving the cartridge back and forth to re-distribute the toner. I was able to get hundreds of extra copies before the well ran dry. A good value! - Q2612a - Laser Printer - Laserjet - Hp'

Toddler Scooter - mini scooter, scooter

This is the best scooter...our girls both got one for Christmas and as its 18 degrees out, they ride them inside( around and around the kitchen island...LOL...not a big space, but still fun for them until they could be outside), and it is quiet and SO good for our oldest's coordination...the younger (4) could ride ANYTHING skillfully within seconds, but our 5 year old is a bit less physically quick to find her balance etc. BUT... our oldest was riding it like a pro within minutes, and they both love love love riding them. These scooters are small and light but sturdy and so well made (SO awesome). They have a brake in the back that is super easy to use (also a cool feature) and the scooter itself CAN tip over, but the way its built makes it so it isn't tippy and so a child getting their balance will be ok. It doesn't tip over unless a kid literally falls somehow, and it takes little to no balance to ride them once the initial few moments of getting on the thing is over. Otherwise, it balances itself great. I would buy these again and again, and when they get older, we will get the larger size. Thank goodness my sister told me that these were what my nephews had and they were light years better than the other scooters they had owned and their friends had. Her boys are REALLY active and rode those things hard, but they LOVED them, and SHE loved them, and she said every friend that saw them asked her for the info because although most of them had scooters, they weren't as safe while still having all the fun of a scooter. If you want a scooter, THIS is the scooter for your younger kid...OR get the larger size for your bigger kid. I have nothing but RAVES for this scooter. Not one single "love this, BUTTTTT...." They have been 100% fantastic. mini kick Scooter - AQUA

The first time you take this out and slot the bar in (1 simple step assembly), it is hard not to be impressed by how cool this scooter is. The steering-by-leaning is a nifty technical set-up and has been very quickly mastered by my three year old. She had no experience with this sort of thing, but was flying around within minutes.

We had one of these for my son which we handed down to my daughter before buying it in pink, new, for her. All the kids on our block have them and they are totally awesome. Best for steering, balance, stability. Would buy again and again.

The product is well made. However it should be noted that the product has some shortcomings (if they are of any importance to you):

1. The steering is not foldable. In other words, it does not fold down in a nice compact way like the Razor scooters do.

2. The steering is not extendable. It is a one size device.

I did not know these prior to purchase since none of the other reviewers mentioned it. It is not too much of a problem, but it was certainly a bit disappointing for me given that this is more than twice the price of other scooters and yet lacks these basic features.

As other reviewers have mentioned, depending on your child, it could take some time to master. The downside to the "lean to one side to steer in that direction" is also that the turning radius is very large. Unlike other scooters, this makes sharp turns difficult to do.

Our daughter is 4 1/2, and scoots 1/2 mile to preschool and back with me accompanying with our son in the stroller. This scooter has greatly extended the range of our family walks, and virtually solved the dawdling problem we had when she was walking. And now our son, who is not yet 2, has learned to scoot too! Guess we'll be getting another now. Great, great scooter. Far more awesome and life-changing than I had ever imagined.

I got two of these scooters as Christmas presents for my twins. They have been asking for a scooter since the summer and since they just turned three, I thought it was a good age to get them something like that. I went to the usual stores first to look at three-wheeled-scooters and I was disappointed at the poor quality and/or the poor maneuverability. I was sure that there must exist a better option. I searched the web and VOILA!- I found these. First off, the colors are awesome. Second, they look just like 'big boys&girls' scooters, which counts for a lot when you are three. Third, after reading scooter blogs, I was convinced that these are well worth the money in terms of quality of workmanship and maneuverability. I am so pleased with my choice - my kids look like Pros on these wonderful little machines. We took them to the park the day after Christmas, and everyone (kid & adult) was staring at my twins who were effortlessly scooting around. They got the concept of how to operate the scooters within minutes, and after an hour there was no stopping them (or getting them off the scooters!!!). Learning how to use the break took a couple of days, but they got it down. The scooters were very easy to put together, and all the parts look to be well made. I'm sure we'll enjoy these for years to come. - Toddler Scooter - 3 Wheel Scooter - Mini Scooter - Scooter'

Blackberry Charger - 8900 dock, blackberry

Device looks nice and is solid and well made. Though Amazon doesn't mention this it can ONLY be used with the wall charger. When you open the package, the instructions say very clearly and in big print with illustrations that you can NOT use the dock with you computer and only with the wall charger. I ordered two - one for the charger and one for the computer to use as a charger (as there really is no need to sync with a computer if you have an enterprise account), but as it turns out it can't be used with your PC that way so back one went. BlackBerry 8900 Desktop Charging Pod

I have two of these little charging pods (along with the chargers to power them, of course); one is at my desk, and the other by my bedside. They're tidier-looking than simply laying the BlackBerry on the desk, and they keep it out of harm's way in case you happen to spill your coffee! When you need to use your BlackBerry in conjunction with your computer (as a modem, or for synching), just remove the charger from the back of the "pod," and attach your USB cable, and you're ready to go.

I take the pod when I travel, too; one of the simple-but-nice functions of the BlackBerry is its "bedside" mode so that you can use it as an alarm clock, and you can get an "ambient noise/white noise" application from the BlackBerry app world for free; it helps block out the unfamiliarity of a hotel room, and the pod keeps the handset upright so this handy little function works to its best advantage.

I definitely recommend this product for convenience, handset safety, looks, and functionality.

I love this charger, it is super convenient and easy to carry on my travels. I have also tried it with a usb charger from my computer and it works perfectly. The little back light does also work but it is so deem that you cannot see it during the day, only at night.

Perfect addition to your BlackBerry accessories!

This little item is great! My Blackberry Curve 8900 looks so much nicer in a stand than just laying on my table. Plus I can see it from my seat without picking it up. I may order a second one for my bedroom next to my bed so I can keep it in either place. :)

Much more convenient than the USB chargers and easier on the connestion by not constantly using the USB port.

Charges quickly and easily - just drop in your 8900.

The pod comes alone and you must use your wall charger USB cable to connect to the pod.

Can't beat Amazon's prices - these are $25+ anywhere else.

I bought this product not knowing what to expect from it. My bb 8900 charging port broke a while back and i searched around for a solution but to replace was a big expense. So I thought why not buy a charging pod to charge through the back ports. And Wha La problem solved!! If your charging port is broken or not charging this is a definite solution. Great for charging just pop it in and your good to go. - Blackberry Charger - 8900 Dock - Blackberry - Charging Pod'

Usb Hard Drive - thumb drive, 4gb

This is a great little piece of machinery. It's straightforward, functional, and--what can I say?--truly cute. It's one of the teeniest USB flash drives I've ever seen, and for me, that's a good thing. I needed a USB drive that could fit into the back port of my Xbox 360 (the original white Arcade model), and the HP v165w does the trick beautifully. It also works great as a storage device for your computer.

Here's a breakdown of its features:

>> The package

The v165w comes in a thin, minimal-plastic package that looks exactly like the container shown on the product photos. It's basically a plastic holder sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard. Nice to look at, hard to open (just like most electronics packaging). Inside, you get the actual USB drive and a tiny lanyard similar to something you'd find on a cell phone charm. No other instructions or slips of paper are included (not that they're needed).

The back of the packaging lists the following system requirements:

- Windows and Mac compatible

- Operating systems supported:

Windows: 2000, XP, Vista, 7

Mac OS: 10.3 or later. USB 2.0

>> It's tiny!

This is a very small USB drive, which can be good or bad depending on your needs or tendency to lose small things. The entire drive could almost fit on a U.S. quarter, meaning it can go all the places a quarter can: a pocket, a wallet, or underneath the sofa cushion. With the lanyard, you can easily hang it from your cell phone as an ultra-techie decorative charm. It won't crowd your keys, either. If you're a person who needs some on-the-go storage available at all times, this ultra-portable drive won't let you down.

The translucent blue covering is a great color, too. With its sleek, concave styling, it's almost reminiscent of a bite-sized blue Xbox 360, which brings me to my next topic...

>>It plays well with the Xbox

The v165w is one of the few USB drives that actually fits into that secret USB port at the back of most original Xbox 360 models. It also fits quite nicely in the front two ports, if you prefer to use those. It's small enough that it'll fit snugly without sticking out of any of the ports, and yet you can pull it out if need be.

The great news is that it passes Microsoft's performance tests with flying colors. Once I formatted it for my Xbox--a total of 14.5 GB were available--I got the thumbs-up that this USB drive met specifications. Awesome!

Update Nov. 30, 2010:

It seems some people have been having problems with the 4GB version of this USB drive when using it for Xbox data storage. I wanted to come back and say that I have not encountered any problems with my 16GB drive at all. Since this drive is supplementary to an official Xbox hard drive I have on the system, I don't keep any vital data like my profile or current game saves on this 16GB USB. I do, however, save all my videos to it, and I'm able to play back all videos without a hitch. I've also put old game saves and downloadable content on the USB without any issues. My recommendation is to use this drive as a companion to your official Xbox hard drive in order to free up space on your primary HD. Likewise, I suggest keeping the USB connected to the system if you decide to use it that way, so the Xbox continually recognizes it as a data storage device.

Since I haven't tested the other sizes of this USB, I can't accurately review them. But I continue to recommend the 16GB version of this USB drive as supplementary Xbox 360 storage.

>>It plays well with computers

Before commissioning the USB stick for Xbox storage, I tried it out with my computer. I was happy to see that the v165w is a straightforward storage device with no hidden or extraneous software pre-installed. You pop it in, wait a few seconds for your computer to recognize it, then open up the folder to find 15.1 GB of fresh space waiting to be filled. Beautiful.

I'm not a speed maven, so I didn't do any special speed tests with transferring large files and such. I will say that it seemed as quick as other USB drives I've used--maybe even quicker.

The v165w also works perfectly across Windows and Mac platforms. Files saved on one operating system are easily recognized by the other.

>>Things to note

* This USB drive comes with a cap, meaning the cap can be lost or misplaced. It fits very snugly on the drive, though, so it shouldn't come off on its own.

* There are no LED lights or other indicators to let you know the drive is running. This is understandable, because the whole point of the v165w is portability. Still, it's something to keep in mind.

* You get 15.1 GB of computer storage and 14.5 GB of Xbox storage because the Xbox uses up about 500MB for storing settings and other hidden data once it formats the drive.

>>Closing comments

Overall, I love this tiny drive! It's cute, straightforward, and ultra-portable. It works with my computer and my Xbox, and it fits in all the places I need it to fit. Highly recommended for folks who want something small and powerful. I'm still amazed they could pack a whole 16GB (15.1GB, really) onto something so tiny. It's great! Portable Radio - portable radio, boombox

I bought this CD player for it's size. We use it on our kitchen, where it fits nicely on a shelf.

Aside from being a space saver, there isn't much to say about this unit. It plays CDs fine and hasn't had any trouble playing discs I've burned using iTunes. Being able to see the disc spinning is kind of cool.

There are only two things I don't really like about this player: the AM/FM radio tuner and the volume control. The radio tuner is not digital, so you have to manually tune in a station every time you want to listen to the radio. It does seem to get pretty good reception though. The volume doesn't go up very high. Don't get me wrong, it's loud enough, it's just not loud enough for me to hear well from the other room. Of course, some might see this as a positive thing.

Overall, I would recommend this CD player if all you need are bare bones CD player functions. Emerson PD5098 Portable Radio CD Player

I was quite disappointed with this product. I have owned other Emerson products in the past, and usually their products are of decent quality. The design and footprint were very nice, but the product didn't function as it should. I found that CD's (in good condition) will skip when the player has been playing for an extended period of time. Mine was playing steadily for about an hour or two when the CD's started skipping. I switched CD's twice, and the skipping just got worse.

Great sound and doesn't skip. Works great next to your bed because of the way it is designed it does not take up a lot of space.

The only thing it doesn't do is play mp3's.

If it did I would buy ten of them.

This is really a nice machine.

Buy one, you won't be sorry.

On a recent weekend getaway, when my wife and I arrived at the hotel I realized I'd neglected to pack one of our portable radio/CD players. Plenty of CD's but no player. Oh well. The radio, I figured, would have to do. I switched on the clock radio by the bed. It only got one FM station, got it rather poorly I might add and it was a country music station to boot. (pun intended) Nothing against all you C & W music fans out there but that music just isn't our cup of tea (cup of grits?) so we drove over to the local __Mart (oooh! good guess!!) to pick up a cheap FM radio. I already have two portable radio/CD players at home, expensive ones, and didn't need another. I just wanted something we could listen to that weekend, a cheap FM radio, a throw-away if you will. Was I ever surprised to find that for about the same price as we'd paid for breakfast that morning I could buy the Emerson PD5098 Portable CD System! In spite of poor in-room radio reception, as evidenced by the sorry little clock radio, the FM stations came through on the Emerson clear as a bell. Our CD's, even ones I'd recorded on two different PC's, played flawlessly. Is this unit a throw-away? No. No way. Being way smaller, lighter, cheaper and much easier to pack and to carry than our old ones it is now our official traveling radio/CD player. Will I use it every day? No. We'll only use it when we travel. It'll probably last forever! Did the three inch speaker do the trick? Yep, it sounded great and we could hear our tunes just fine even over the noise of the whirlpool tub jets and the sound of all the moaning. (Let's get our mind out of the gutter, shall we? The moaning came mostly from me. When I knocked the bottle over. And spilled the last half of the champagne.) Will I break down and cry uncontrollably (like with the champagne) if I ever accidently leave the unit behind somewhere? No. I'll miss it but at such a reasonable price I won't miss it for long. I'll quickly purchase another Emerson PD5098 to replace it. Good job, Emerson. Nice size. Nice sound. Nice price.

I've owned this unit for three years and it works flawlessly. The CDs don't ever skip, even when I move the unit. It has exceptionally good sound though the maximum volume could be a bit more powerful. I basically bought the unit for its portable size and smart design. It takes up little space on my nightstand or kitchen counter or out on the patio table and loading a disk is a snap. The radio tuner has good reception and it doesn't bother me that it isn't digital. However, I do wish it was a stereo unit. Its compact size, I don't think, would suffer terribly if another speaker were attached on the other side. The outlet for the detachable electrical cord is recessed and unobtrusive. It's built solidly yet it's light-weight. For the money you can't beat this unit but does any one know if Emerson has an upgrade stereo version of this item? If so, I'd buy ten of 'em!

There are 2 versions of this unit.

The first is what most people are reviewing.

It is distinguished by a red LED CD display.

This version was subpar and sold up until the end of 2006.

In 2007 the second version is distinguished by an LCD CD display.

The build quality is much better as well as the sound.

Apparently Emerson switched manufacturers as both unit s have different OEM

codes on the ID plates.

I have both versions and this is how I know this.

The first one I purchased at Walmart in December 2006 and it stopped reading cd's.

I returned it about a month later and received the second version.

The store had to have received new shipments and even the box looked different.

What a difference!

Much much better. And a bargain for $20 too!

Is it a high end model? heck no! but for the price it's good. - Portable Radio - Emerson - Boombox - Cd Player'

Acne Treatment - blemish control, skin treatment

Hey guys,

I bought this product like 2 weeks ago and let me tell you how amazing it is! We probably all tried Pro Active 3-step system and for some (or should I say few) it showed drastic improvement in their skin, and well for others it only made it worst! I happen to fall under the category of the worst signs of improvement. The face wash made my skin extremely irritated and since it left a greasy residue it caused me to break out even more! Well, now that they been selling the 3-step system with the refining mask and green tea lotion I was very curious to see if these little items worked better then the whole system. My cousin had purchased pro active (which came with the refining mask and green tea lotion) and I decided one night to put a dab of the Refining Mask on all my big stress pimples, and once I woke up the very next morning my pimples were minimized and the redness dramatically reduced!! I was SHOCKED! So I had to check on Amazon.com to see if they even sold the product separately, and they DID! I would seriously recommend this product to those of you who are experiencing acne bumps or any other kind of acne you might have! The green tea works pretty well, but I use SCAR ZONE A, and it works WONDERS on my acne scars! (You can also purchase that on amazon $7.98). If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below! Thanks, and I hope this helps! Proactiv Solution Refining Mask 2.5 Oz Bottle

Im used to paying full price for this through Proactive...and I got this at an awesome price! This is my favorite face mask and i have tried probably 20 different brands some costing more then $50 and this works the best. Shipping was very quick!

Excellent product, it works like a miracle! The price is amazing here. It came sealed. Also, If you only buy the proactive refining mask anywhere else you will pay twice as much if not more. It was shipped immediately. And let me tell you the sooner the better because now I am rocking some clear skin. Thanks for making me the "total" package from your total package service. Happy customer :)

There's a reason everyone raves about this product - it truly helps with those stubborn acne spots! The directions say to leave it on for 10 minutes - I like to use it overnight. It really is a spot treatment - I wouldn't recommend using it as a face mask, only because it's a small tube and it would be really drying. - Skin Treatment - Proactiv - Acne - Blemish Control'

I have used SquareTrade for a few years and have had 2 items quite working. One was an HP LaserJet 1020 and the other, a Samsung DVD/VCR Recorder Combo unit. They refunded my full purchase price with no questions asked. Great company that stands behind their promise. SquareTrade 3-Year Electronics Warranty ($175-200 Items)

Wow. All I can say is wow. I bought a Playstation 3 on ebay 3 months ago. I was worried that it would break so I purchased a warranty from SquareTrade. After I reported it broken they sent me some possible fixes. When those didn't work they had me send it in(they paid for shipping). They sent it to their repair team. After a week of them recieving it. I had the money in my paypal account. I even got reimbursed for the 2 games I got with the playstation and I didn't send those to them. They gave me a full refund of the purchase price. I couldn't be happier. Thanks SquareTrade.

It was a great purchase at a great price. I have had to return 2 items, an ipod & a Navigon GPS. My problem may have been unique with the Navigon warranty which they didn't have a record of but they took the time to research it & eventually I did get my refund. Easy return system & helpful staff.

I'm not sure what I can say about a warranty before I have to use it, and since the product that the warranty is associated with is brand-new, I cannot comment on the quality of the Square Trade warranty.

However, after I got the warranty, I found out that Square Trade offers blanket warranty service for any electronic thing that you purchase. In other words, if you are a person who prefers to get warrantees for the things that you purchase, there is no need to purchase in-store warranties for your electronics. They claim that you can save a lot of money by going with Square Trade for your warranties, though I cannot comment on that. You can put the warrantees for all your electronics online with Square Trade, and keep track of them on your account page.

I bought a refurbished XBOX360 off ebay and thought it would be a good idea to get it insured. As luck would have it, within a year of usage the Ring of Death showed up.

However, the claim was hassle-free and the service, both over email and over the phone was very prompt and helpful.

Will always get this warranty for used and refurbished items off ebay in the future.

I purchased this warranty for an IPOD and 13 months later the IPOD crashed. I submitted my claim, had almost immediate response, and within 1 week the full purchase price of my IPOD was paid via deposit to Paypal. Can't beat the price for an extended warranty and service was great!

I purchased an under counter TV/DVD player for a gift for my wife @ Christmas along with an extended warranty from SquareTrade. 130 days later (manufacturer's warranty was 90 days), the DVD tray stopped working and I called SquareTrade. They sent me a prepaid UPS label to return the unit for inspection. 5 calendar days later I got an email saying that SquareTrade was crediting my account with the full purchase price of $250. Outstanding! I purchased a replacement TV and bought another extended warranty from SquareTrade!

I don't always purchase extended warranties-it depends on the manufacturer's warranty period. When an electronics warranty is for 90 days parts and labour, then it seems worthwhile to buy additional coverage.

The Square Trade offering seems like a good value for the money. From what I gather they're quite highly regarded. I haven't had any reason to use it to date but it does offer a certain level of security should something go wrong.

Registration with Square Trade was a snap. I faxed them a copy of my Amazon receipt and within minutes received comfirmation that they had received it. If you send them a copy of your receipt they keep the information on file which can speedup the claim process should your product need service. - Cameras - Printers - Computer - Extended Warranty'

Fingerprints - anti-glare, clear

I like this mirror protector screen. it was kinda hard to put it on my Ipod touch 4th gen since I never did this before, but after a couple of minutes, it turned out very snazzy :] very shiny. recommend you put your screen brightness up high, so you'll be able to see your apps screen clearly.

I recommend this ! iPod touch Mirror Screen Protector (4th generation)

It did not come with instructions, but it was easy enough to figure out. The mirror is fantastic, you can see perfectly in it. HOWEVER the only time you can clearly see the ipod screen is in a dark room. any light in the room at all and you have to battle your own reflection to see the screen. It is great if you dont do anything visual on your screen, like just use the ipod for music. HOWEVER if you play games or watch things on your ipod this will screen protector will not work for you.

Good:

Does not affect the responsiveness of the iPod's touch screen.

Doubles as a mirror when the screen is off (although the back of the iPod is a better mirror).

Easy application but may have to be discarded if removed.

Bad:

Fingerprint magnet.

Screen view-ability deteriorates under bright light.

Screen not viewable at certain angles (this can also be seen as a positive since it doubles as a privacy screen to some extent).

Overall:

Good enough for the price. Wish I was able to remove and reinstall it as I wished. One additional benefit for me is that my toddler doesn't seem to be attracted to the iPod. She picks it up, looks at her reflection, makes a few faces and then moves along... good camouflage.

The mirror effect is too strong:

* You have to override the automatic Ipod brightness settings in most situations, which reduces battery life.

* It makes it very hard to watch video or look at photos in a bright natural light setting.

I do not recommend this product.

Someone put a sticker on this item and it would not come off. While trying to get it off it tore. Because the item was very inexpensive, it wasn't worth the trip wasting my gas to go to the post office to return it. I considered it a complete loss of my money. I DO NOT recommend this item.

Did not work at all! I followed the directions carefully, and I had a screen protector before that required the same steps. Step one is peel off the first side and slowly stick it to your ipod and step 2 is unpeel the top leaving the non sticky side (which is supposed to reveal the mirror on top). However the second tab would not come off had to pick at it for an hour until finally it ripped and the other side was no longer sticky, had to throw it out. but it is just a dollar maybe you'll have better luck with it? :-/

made the retina display look terrible. makes the clarity go away. do not get this screen protecter.

i immediately took it off after trying to use it with my ipod and now my ipods screen feels horrible and my finger now doesnt glide across the screen nearly as easily as it did before. horrible.

This a very nice screen protector. It looks exactly like in the picture, except in the picture there is two holes at the top but with the product there is only one hole for the camera, and looks just like a mirror when the ipod is off but when its on the protector is invisible. I am very pleased with this product =] - Ipod Touch - Clear - Anti-glare - Screen Protector'

This is a well made belt. However, it is a duty belt, and as such it is too wide for normal use. The webbing is 2" in width and the buckle is 2 3/8". This is a great product, just be aware it is a heavy duty duty belt, not just a heavy duty belt. UTG Heavy Duty Web Belt - Black

What more needs to be said? A sturdy, functional, heavy duty web belt for a decent low price. For me, it provides the fundamental framework for my camera belt rig. For you it might support tools or a sidearm along with a few spare mags. Whatever you choose to hang on it, the only way you'll hold more is with a full LBE rig.

I sent off for the Leaper belt because the company claims it fits up to a 55 waist. I have a 48 waist and when I tried it on, the belt was not even close, even with adjustments on both sides. The product is of good quality, but putting it through belt-loops, over pants, and still have a good fit. Will not happen, even though it saids it will.

I have a 50 watt light that mounts on my video camera. It's powered by a cumbersome battery pack which provides enough juice for about an hour of illumination. I have two of these brick-sized lead sinkers. Each came with a belt loop but no belt. The UTG belt is substantial enough to support the combined weight of both batteries comfortably on my hips, and comes with a quick release clasp. It's the ideal solution.

This product is not all what it says it is. It is sort of flimsy. It is an okay belt for what I am doing as a corrections officer but expected something much heavier than what I got.

On the flip side I did receive it extremely fast. It was here in a couple days and I even ordered it around a holiday.

First off, the most important thing you need to know is that, as other reviews mentioned, this is a very tall, thick belt, and WILL NOT fit thru the loops on most pants.

It looks like its designed as a duty belt. Its fully velcro lined on the inside (loop, not hook), so you can either get a velcro 'inner' belt on your pants that has the hooks on the outside, and wear this belt outside your pants as a true duty belt, or you can find pants that have extra tall loops designed for duty belts.

It fits in both my Propper brand, and Dickies brand EMS pants, perfectly.

Since its very very long, for adjusting to a large amount of waist sizes, it for those of you who are skinny, it might be doubled back pretty far, I simply had a tailor cut about 8 inches off, and adjust the location of the velcro hooks, now it fits my 34 inch waist with about 4-6 inches of adjustment left in case i get fat again.

Very strong belt, appears to be very good quality, and supports everything on my belt without sagging.

I'm going to order a second one, and keep one threaded thru each pair of duty pants full time, since its plastic and fabric, it can stay on during the wash cycle. - Rugged - Tactical - Durable - Black'
