File Folder - folder accessories, file box

I admit it... I'm addicted to black, the color that is. So after searching high and low for plain black hanging file folders to suit my style I have to admit I was surprised that the big box office supplies stores don't carry them! Honestly... I can't figure out why they don't. The regular green ones make me wanna barf and the fruity colored ones give me a headache. I have A.D.D. and my brain gets very distracted with colors. Unless there is order to it. For me... I'd rather have one color and be done with it. Black goes with every decor and my male clients really prefer them! My boyfriend really liked them too! Misty Crick Pendaflex Hanging Folder, Black, 1/5 Tab, Letter, 25 Box, 4152 1/5 BLA

As I've only used them for a short time, I can not comment on durability, but I will comment on the initial. It seems like any other hanging folder. Nothing too special about it. Although it is not as Jet black as I imagined it would be. It's more of a dull/cardboard black type color. Not really as pictured. But not bad.

I ordered these folders specifically because I specifically needed 'black' folders. Needless to say, when they arrived and were BRIGHT orange, I was a bit disappointed. I decided to keep the orange to avoid the hassle of a visit to the post office, paying return shipping, and waiting for the CORRECT product to arrive. Perhaps I will just buy a few Sharpie markers to color over the orange.

Overall, the product is great -- if it arrives in the correct color. - Folder Accessories - File Folders - File Box - File Folder'

Music - music

Reading reviews from people who go to great lengths to say how "over it" they are when a band (god forbid) changes their musical direction a bit and produces a follow-up to a hugely successful album that dares to be different than its predecessor crack me up.

If the only Maroon 5 set you ever want to hear is SAJ, then don't ever buy any others, just keep listening to that. I loved Songs About Jane, I loved their live acoustic CD's, and I love their new CD. So what if a lot of their lyrics are about love gone wrong - we live in a country where more relationships fail than flourish, so most of us can relate to the lyrics. That they are able to capture the emotions associated with it (anger, bitterness, revenge, sadness, acceptance) in such a wide variety of musical styles speaks to the strength of their creativity, and that they channel some greats in the process (yes, Won't Go Home does have an Every Breath You Take-like guitar riff) is awesome.

I won't go song-by-song, but there are so many great tracks on this CD - catchy, lyrically clever, tightly produced - that the fact that there are a couple filler tracks is largely unimportant. You can't find hardly anyone who doesn't hum along to Makes Me Wonder, and I'd venture to say that several more tracks from this CD - If I Never See Your Face Again, Little of Your Time, Won't Go Home Without You, Can't Stop, Kiwi, Back at Your Door - are also major hit single potential.

There's no point in whining that your favorite best-kept-secret band hit the bigtime and is writing for a larger audience - all of their material they've done has been great in different ways, and this CD is going to be huge. Can't wait to see 'em live again. It Won't Be Soon Before Long. (Explicit)

Normally (although not deliberately), I tend to ignore bands like Maroon 5. A bluntly commercial band with this much corporate support does not need my backing, so I usually leave it alone and let the marketplace decide for itself. The world at large seems to understand Avril Lavigne, Nickelback and Fall Out Boy a lot better than I do anyway, so voicing my opinion about the musical value of these acts would feel like screaming at the wall. Usually, I simply look the other way, but I've been listening to "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" for a few weeks now, and it has me believing that Maroon 5 can justify the hype.

Maroon 5's last album, "Songs About Jane," may have been released in 2002, but I didn't hear a note of it until two years later, when the relentless push from the band's backers finally ignited the jet fuel that lifted the band to stardom. Apparently, I wasn't alone in this regard, since the band took home a Grammy award for best new artist three years later, in 2005. Naturally, that brought them a lot of attention, but I figured they would suffer the same fate as many previous `Best New Artist' winners and vanish into the night sky. "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" renders my prediction obsolete. The production is damn near perfect, but in a mid-`80s, Quincy Jones kind of way that often gets in the way of allowing the band to establish its own identity. There is a slick, funky sheen to the best songs, and vocalist Adam Levine dishes out melodies that are flawlessly polished to a full luster. Imagine Maxwell covering a Michael Jackson hit with an ace rock band for support, and you'll get close to the essence of this song collection.

The subject matter is also intriguing. There are lots of cheating songs on the disk, and lots of lyrics that will break the hearts of hormone-addled romantics. If his words are remotely autobiographical, then Levine could be the poster boy for the lovelorn, even when his sentiments are shopworn and clichéd; on "Won't Go Home Without You," he knows the girl was right to ditch him, but swears that he needs "one more chance to make it right." On "Nothing Lasts Forever," he sings "I love you but I'm letting go" while "Can't Stop (Thinking About You)" is self-explanatory. "Wake Up Call" is a bit more blatant - "Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed. Don't you care about me anymore?" Umm, I don't think so, dude, but don't worry about it, because there are millions of fans to help to ease your pain. This'll sell zillions, and I can understand why it will. B+ Tom Ryan

This album doesn't come close to "Songs about Jane." The new disc is washed, scrubbed and polished to the point where you just want to hear some raw emotion out of Levine's voce but you never do. But instead what you do get is smartly written, smarmy pop gems that is still better than most of anything else on the radio these days.

All over the disc you get snippets of other artists that have influenced them and that mostly comes from the 80's. You get a Prince tune: "Kiwi," with its metaphorical lyrics, "Goodnight Goodnight," which sounds as if it fell out of Stevie Wonder's amazing songbook and the stunning "Better that we Break." Maroon 5's a great band, but here it seems as if they are going after a new audience while trying to sustain their old but without branching out as artists. They can handle more than what they are doing on this disc. Levine at times, treads the same waters as he did in "Songs about Jane."

Maroon 5 return with the follow up to their hugely successful debut "Songs about Jane", and are off to a good start so far, with lead off single "Makes me wonder" (in a similar mould to "This love") already #1 on Billboard.

It was always going to be tough to top "Songs.." and they don't. However, they continue in the same rock/pop/funk direction as their debut, though this time around the songs don't jump at you immediately.

Other standouts (besides the incredibly catchy "Makes me wonder") are "If I never see your face again" (great guitar intro), the upbeat "Little of your time", the equally energetic "Can't stop", the more midtempo "Not falling apart" (with a nice chugging bassline), the Michael Jackson-like "Wake up call", and the ballads; the "She will be loved" clone "Won't go home without you", "Goodnight goodnight", and the retro sounding "Back at your door".

But even these don't come close to the standouts from "Songs.." and that's the problem, a lack of catchy songs and nothing new. There's nothing here that we haven't heard better from their debut. A very good case of playing it safe. The album will no doubt sell in the millions.

P.S. Look out for the bonus tracks some of which are better than some album tracks;

"Infatuation" (lovely ballad)

"Until you're over me" (catchy upbeat number sung in falsetto, both available on the Australian edition)

"Figure it out" (a mellow to raging funk/rocker with nice kettle effects)

"Losing my mind" (nice rock ballad)

"Miss you love you". - Music'

Call Of Duty - xbox 360, xbox 360 headset

The mic that came with my 360 bit the dust and I opted for this as a replacement rather than one of the more expensive alternativeness. It works great; it sounds great; and if you treat these right, they last several years. Xbox 360 Headset

The headsets I received were from Direct Distributor fulfilled by Amazon. They were not in original Microsoft packaging but rather in a sealed orange bag. Also, they are not the never version that Microsoft is currently selling. They are the headsets that shipped with the older consoles. They do work fine but are not what I expected...

The headset works great! It's used daily. Definitely not a quiet accessory of the Xbox system...I often think we have extra kids in the house when I hear the excited conversations! Glad I heard to buy this, so it was here when they opened the system Christmas morning, because it's such an important part of the whole experience!

The head set is very nice where I got it from sent it very quick great condition Brand new box. THE ONLY SET BACK........ is that the On/off switch in next to your chin so it can get annyoing taking your hand off the controller to turn your mic on or off, especially in halo or call of duty. Other than that the head set is in beautiful condition. 5 stars

I love this thing. The price was great too. It's Black, so it matches my Xbox 360 Slim. I assumed there would be some static, but there is none. I'd recommend it.

The only negative thing that I can say about them is that the audio cuts out every once in a while if you're battery's low on energy (if you're playing wirelessly). I played with my wired controller, & I had no issues at all with them.

I've used these headsets before and knew what to expect. Amazon also provides the best prices on these things...definitely better than going to Best Buy, Target, or another major retail store. The headset is comfortable and easy to use. I have only one minor complaint: the mouthpiece is a bit short for me, so I don't always have the microphone directly in front of my mouth, but it usually doesn't give me problems. If you play online with X-Box live, the headset is a must to take full advantage of the experience.

I was happy to find the official Xbox 360 Headset for such a low cost, but it still isn't worth the money.

I purchased this item to replace my old 360 headset that I got when the console was first released. I liked the old one well enough, and didn't want to fork over too much money on a headset, so I figured buying the same one to replace it would be my best option.

They have, however, changed the design a bit that really disappointed me. Instead of having the on/off and volume controls attached at the base to the controller, they are in-line with the cord. Because of this, it is much harder to quickly make changes when playing a game. Before I could just mute/un-mute without having to look away from my TV-- that is not the case now.

Having the controls in-line also seems to put more strain on the headset jack, which is never a good thing.

I am really disappointed in this product, and would not recommend it. Go ahead and pay the extra money on a third-party headset or the official wireless headset. - Microsoft - Xbox 360 - Black - Xbox 360 Headset'

Console Shooter

The original Deus Ex(DX) hit the market back in 2000 and with its combination of a Cyberpunk atmosphere and fusion of RPG and FPS elements, became a hit title that eventually won game of the year amongst many other awards. The game was ahead of its time in a way, similar to how Blade Runner (the movie) was ahead of its time for back in the 1980's. With this new release, DX: HR, does the game fall into mediocrity or does DX continue to be a a beautiful melody of various gameplays in an immerse environment?.... A few technical details aside, I would say this game easily marks a new generation in the Deus Ex line and could just be one of the best SP based campaign game released in 2011.

GAMEPLAY

And a whole lot of it! This game is massive and the cyberpunk vision of the future is captured beautifully. DX:HR I feel, tends to be a blend of FPS meets Stealth meets Espionage meets Social. You play as Adam Jensen who is a security officer for an Augmentation company. After an attack leaves him so badly wounded he needs heavy body augmentation the game begins. Who plotted the attack? Why? Terrorism? Self-Sabotage? The conspiracy runs deep and it is your job to figure out it! At your disposal is a very immerse and game changing set of mechanics that shapes how you play the game, yet adapts to your play-style. Need to get to the 5th floor and hack a terminal.. no problem go in guns blazing...or maybe stealth past the guards taking them out one at a time... or maybe break in through a vent system...or combine all 3! Not only can you approach objectives and quests from various methods, but there often are quite a few options available to you. You don't always need to take that grate on the left. You could hack the janitor's closet and steal the keycard and just walk right in on the objective. Maybe there is a guard wandering who has a keycard also, or someone wrote it in an email message that you found when hacking terminals. The variety is just huge and never gets old! To top it all off you can upgrade Mr. Jensen to better suit your play-style

As you complete objectives, side quests, or basically do anything you gain XP. Shoot a mob you get XP, stealth him instead XP, Avoid combat all together get XP! Hacking amounts to bonus XP as hacking is more of a mini-game than a mandatory tool in this game, but I found it worth my time to hack. It was fun and provided some interesting bits of information that paid off in the long run. Anyhow, the XP you gain is used to level up Jensen, and as you level you gain the ability to further boost the level of mods you have. What is so beautiful about this the upgrades compliment your play-style. You are not forced to pick upgrades you do not want, however I rarely found that I picked something that felt like a waste. It is a solid system that gives you the freedom to play as you want for the most part.

GRAPHICS

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not the flashiest of games. It isn't the latest and greatest game engine that might choke your PS3/360 or stress your video card until it explodes. The game still looks very good though. It captures a cyberpunk / blade runner style atmosphere very well and uses a darker color pallet which makes for a slightly darker vision of the future. Character animations can seem a little stiff or awkward at times, but do remember people are walking around with augmentations so the body movements might seem a bit unnatural for a reason. On the PS3 version the Frame-rate dropped from time to time, especially during one or two intense cut-scenes but it wasn't that bad. There was similar frame-rate issues on the 360 but occurring in different areas spots so the drop is probably relating to how the system is handling the engine itself. Graphically, the PS3 vs the 360 have differences but not enough to sway me to one or the other. It really depends on what you are looking at, at the time you are comparing. Sometimes PS3 looked better, sometimes 360. PS3 lighting was better in some spots, yet the 360 had better coloring in others.

In short... The Graphics, while not the best, are very good and despite the PS3 and 360 having some frame-rate issues, either system is a perfect option for this game; each boasting pros and cons over the other.

SOUND/STORY

The music for this game is awesome! The style of music chosen fits the environment and setting of the game perfectly, going well with the cyberpunk theme. It helps immerse you into the game which is a big plus. Voice acting however is a sub-par as often the same voice actor played multiple characters and didn't even change their voice. You may even find multiple characters who say the same line of text. I'm not surprised by this though as the original Deus Ex had some of the Worst-yet best! voice acting of any game I played. .... Storyline wise, while I honestly have not completed the game at this point (the game is LONG!), the storyline is great! Everything you do has influences on the game, and the storyline is very deep and balanced. It is full of plot twists and surprises that had me hooked.

REPLAY/LENGTH

While this game lacks multiplayer, you are getting your $'s worth here. The game easily has 25+hrs of gameplay, more like 30-40 hrs if you factor in side quests and taking your time to really immerse yourself. Not only does this game boast a huge amount of varied gameplay, but I could easily see myself picking it up and doing it all over again! The variety in gameplay is just that amazing. You stealthed your way into the building for Mission 6, replay it and try going Rambo. You might find new items or bits of information, or even slightly influence events of that mission. Deus Ex reminds me a little of Mass Effect in this sense. Every new gameplay can be filled with little bits and pieces you may of missed, or simply did not see in a previous playthrough; plus there are multiple endings to this game which only tempt you to try alternative paths and methods.

CONS

Normally I integrate my Con's into each section, but Deus-Ex is the kind of game that you need to see the entire picture. The game can clock it easily +25hrs and has such a wide variety of elements to it things were bound to go wrong in some spots. This comes in the form of frame-rate problems(see graphics), boss encounters, and AI problems. Frame-rate has been covered but Boss Encounters were a disappointment simply because there is only one real way to fight them. RAMBO style! If you specialized in hacking that won't help you during the fight. The illusion of choice is removed here and you are forced into a play style you might not enjoy. This isn't a major problem but for someone who didn't specialize in guns, since the game is forgiving, it feels like bosses were rushed in rather than fully thought out. AI problems well, it was to be expected. Sometimes enemies just become stupid and forget you are there or have such obvious pathing it makes you wonder how they were even hired to be guards. Despite their AI problems however they seem to have eagle eye vision when it comes to accuracy with guns (which makes for a good challenge!)

OVERALL ... 93% (9.3 / A)

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a product of its sums. Individually each part of the game, from the shooter, to the stealth to the social aspects 'could have' been done better. Instead each element was created specifically to balance the other and what you end up with is a game that has multiple play-styles, gameplay which caters to the needs of the player, immerse storyline and environment, and a wide variety of methods to tackle the problem; so much so alternative play-throughs are a must! DX: HR has technical issues, but when a single game can easily surpass 25-30hrs and contain such variety, a few problems might slip through the cracks or be inevitable.

In the end, we have a beautiful game that will keep you glued to your PC, 360 or PS3. Deus Ex: Human Revolution'

Corded Phones - good quality, 1-line corded phones

As a basic, one-line, corded phone, this is adequate. The sound quality is good, and the instruction booklet is well written. But the keypad has an annoyingly stiff touch, and the caller ID screen is not easy to read in most kinds of light. The instructions say it needs three new alkaline batteries every six months; in my experience, it's every two months. Panasonic KX-TSC11B Corded Phone with Caller ID (Black)

Good solid product. Functions well. Great for power outages, since it doesn't need to be plugged into an AC outlet (Battery powered). The only drawback was the unlit display (can't see in dim light or darkness). A longer handset cord would be nice too.

Like most people I wanted an alternative to cordless phones in case of an emergency. The Panasonic KX-TSC11B more than meets my basic needs.

My basic requirements for a corded phone are that it:

* must be black - this phone is black (except for the cord, which is sort of a dark gray)

* must have Caller ID - this phone has Caller ID (the name flashes first, then the number, and if you don't pick up off of this phone it will say "missed call" and include the name/number)

* must be DSL wall compatible - this was one of my main requirements as I have a DSL wall filter and if you're like me you have found that very few phones fit nicely on the wall with a DSL filter, but this one includes a wall adapter and fits in very snugly

* the ringer must be able to be turned off - this has a side button that will allow me to either turn off the ringer or lower it.

Overall this is a fantastic phone. Panasonic makes durable phones that last for years and years. My only complaint is the extension cord. First of all it wasn't black, and second of all it was grossly long (there is no way it would have fit on my wall with my DSL filter) so I had to replace it with a tiny black extension cord.

BTW if you're looking for a set of high-quality cordless phones at a great price, check these out.

Remember, you are what you buy.

I bought this as an office phone. I've got an answering machine and a cell phone, but I needed an additional phone to be by the computer in my upstairs office and I wanted a caller I.D. home phone so I could know who is on the other end because I get 10-20 calls each day plus over 100 emails. I can see who is calling without holding a receiver up to my ear.

I was convinced to buy this phone by the price and features. I like the black color because it doesn't get dirty like the white or light grey phones. You don't see it, but there is always a layer of dust on your keyboard. It transfers easily. I am so busy I don't have time to clean my office very often, and my materials are so sensitive that I do not trust an ordinary cleaning agency to come out.

I've only had this phone for a few days, but I can say that it is attractive and seems to be built well. I called my Mom and she said the sound was crystal clear. My sister said the same thing. I called my exgirlfriend too, and she liked it. I heard them just fine as the speaker is great. I could go on about this phone...it is so cool. For the same price of one meal out on the town you can get this phone.

This is a decent corded phone with good sound quality. We bought it for use as a wall phone, and the construction doesn't really warrant that use. It can hang on the wall but doesn't look great. Also, the caller ID screen is very dark and difficult to read. But, as I said, for the cost, it's a decent phone without the bells and whistles you sometimes don't want but get stuck having to get. - Good Quality - Caller Id - Corded Speakerphone - 1-line Corded Phones'

120 Hz - 120hz, 1080p lcd hdtv

My first HDTV, so I have nothing to compare it to. With that said, I'm really liking the TV so far. Excellent picture with 1080i over-the-air channels as well as 720p videos through AppleTV. No Blu-Ray test yet. Black levels seem pretty good (I've definitely seen worse while browsing at BestBuy) and colors seem good as well. I did some slight adjustment to the picture with the THX Optimizer system on a Pixar DVD..

Negatives: I wish there was an over-the-air channel guide like my Insignia DTV converter has. Also, I wish there was an "enter"/"ok" button near the numerical keypad for changing channels. You have to type the channel number (bottom of remote), then regrip and hit "ok" at the top of the remote - pretty awkward. Both of these issue are admittedly minor.

Also, I've read many negative comments on the speakers on 2010 and older Panasonic TVs. I think they are reasonable quality for standard built-in speakers.

Something else to add is that this TV was originally listed by both Best Buy and Amazon as having an LED backlight. That info has now been removed from both. The Panasonic website does not list this under their "LED LCD" category (just the standard "LCD" category, implying a CCFL/EEFL backlight), but makes numerous mentions in the product description as having an LED backlight. I originally ordered this when Amazon, Best Buy and Panasonic themselves had it listed as having an LED backlight, so I assumed that's what I was getting.

The LED info never seemed right to me as this TV has nearly the same thickness, contrast ratio and power consumption as the 2010 model Panasonic TVs which ARE listed as having an EEFL (CCFL) backlight. After I got the TV, I looked through the ventilation slots on the back and can see a sticker with a high-voltage warning on it that says "Fluorescent Lamp in Color LCD contain Mercury..." I have real doubts that this TV has an LED backlight.

Overall I'll give it 5 stars. Bottom line is that it has a great picture for a $500-ish TV. Panasonic VIERA TC-L37U3 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

Bought this TV as we finally upgraded to digital cable with HD channels. We had good experience with Panasonic in the past, and this TV has been great so far. The picture is absolutely fantastic with the HDMI connection to our HD DVR. Added a Panasonic blue ray player to the set up, and there is a 3rd HDMI input on the side for our laptop or anything else. Optical digital audio out really finishes off the set up. Great TV, and it fits in the 36" opening in our entertainment center.

Purchased this Panasonic TV to fit in our solid cherry-wood entertainment center and it fits perfectly. We are edtremely pleased with the picture, sound, and overall quality of this HDTV. Amazon's pricing was great. Would highly recommend this item.

TV arrived in one piece, but missing the remote control!

Like E365 I purchased this after having determined that it was LED backlit, and indeed the Panasonic pages describing it have changed in the meantime. One star down.

Regarding the missing remote, Amazon's page instructs to try to resolve the matter with the manufacturer first. 20 minutes on hold until I got a human who inexplicably immediately hung up on me. Another 20 minutes on hold and I got someone again. Gave all requested information, was given a case number and a fax number to send information to (supposedly) get a remote. Fax number? What a hassle, by design no doubt. The only small saving grace was that the customer support line has Saturday and Sunday hours.

If I don't get the remote within 30 days of ordering I guess it has to go back.

To be continued...

Update: nearly two weeks after having faxed all the required information per instructions there's still no remote and no contact by Panasonic. A little irony here is that the printing on the front of the box the TV comes in extols the wonderful customer service as part of the "Viera experience." I guess it's time to go through Amazon's normal return service. Second star down. - 120hz - 120 Hz - 1080p - 1080p Lcd Hdtv'

Crankbait - rapala, fishing lures fresh water

The Rapala floater minnow is perhaps the best topwater lure available to catch a wide variety of fish. I have used it to catch bass, northern, and walleye. It has a smooth finish with two treble hooks that are incredibly sharp. The lower "jaw" defector causes the minnow to wobble side to side in a motion fish cannot ignore. Reeled in slowly, the lure stays on top of the water and slowly wiggles itself back to the boat. Reeled in fast, the lure will go slightly underwater and wiggle vigorously. I prefere an alternating twitching and slow retrieve to catch fish. I tie monofilament directly to the nose of the lure (no snap), cast it out, and retrieve. Srikes will be noisy and violent! It will catch fish! Unfortunately, it will attract and hook northern pike, and with their sharp teeth, expect to lose a few of these to a broken severed line. Walleyes can be caught usually by trolling shallow waters after dark. This is a quality lure by a trusted lure manufacturer, and is reasonably priced. Have several of different colors and sizes in your tackle box for the most versitility.

konedog Rapala Original Floater 07 Fishing Lures (Bleeding Olive Flash, Size- 2.75)

Once again this little baby brought in the fish. They seem to just gyrate to this lure and it is a small amount to pay for such a good investment. Love this lure, so do the fish. Since I received it over a week and a half ago I have caught a good many fish. I love the results.

I am relatively new to using this type of lure. I recently moved to a different area, and am trying to change my fishing style to match the new techniques required.

I seem to have the best results with a medium reel rate. Takes some good speed to get it to sink, and it resurfaces rather quick afterward. Its obviously great in shallow water or for fish striking the surface.

I have managed to catch some nice bass, a few big ones, along with the occasional smaller random fish.

This is a great lure, relatively lightweight though, which impacts my casting until I get it dialed in for a lure of this weight.

Great lure to add to your box.

I have fished these with a slow steady retrieve, and twitch, and have always gotten results. I have found the silver to be the most productive. I just got back into fishing put one of these old favorites on and pulled in 10 bass, with two being 20, and 17 inches each. Can't go wrong.

I guess I just didn't know the size but this was way smaller than I was expecting, maybe only 2 inches long. I was expecting it to be much bigger. It seems well made and looks like the picture. I can't speak to the fishing results since I was going for bigger stuff.

I've used the rainbow trout version of this lure a few times now, and of course it's built well like all Rapala hard-body lures. I've had no luck so far fishing with it in Illinois, probably in large part because there aren't enough rainbow trout here for the game fish to recognize a lure that's supposed to resemble one of their fry. In Wisconsin, on the other hand, in lakes where trout are not unheard-of, I caught decent-sized smallmouth bass with it. So as with all artificial lures, yoru luck will vary depending on how and where you use it. - Fishing Lures Fresh Water - Rapala - Crankbait - Fishing'

Ipod Touch Case - ipod touch 4g, black

I am insanely picky about my cases. I don't want any that add bulk, have to have easy accessibility to all controls, don't want it to be so sticky that you can't put it in your pocket, etc. This is, with the case on, still super thin, my ipod still feels smaller than my 3G w/o the case. It's very slightly rubberized but not to the point where it attracts lint/etc... so very easy to wipe off if I get something on it. It feels very well made and sleek in my hands. It's also very easy to take off and I can still use it in all of my speaker docks. I have no desire to look further... it's perfect! Oh and I can even fit it into my armband to work out w/o even having to take off the case!!! Premium Rubberized Hard Crystal Case Cover for Apple iPod Touch 4G, 4th Generation, 4th Gen - Black, Seamless Rear Case Only

When it comes to cases for my portable devices, I usually don't even bother. I like having my device in its original form without anything hindering its looks and feel. I was very hesitant to buy this case (not just this case, but a lot of them), but it was cheap, so I decided to go for it.

And I wasn't disappointed! The iPod snaps right into the case and fits nearly perfectly. It covers the entire back (with a hole for the camera). When it's in my pocket, it doesn't collect lint or anything, and it's easy to get in and out. It even adds a little hight to the front of the device so if you dropped it face down, the case might save it. I feel a lot better about setting it on tables and counters. Also, the little case just looks so nice; it doesn't subtract from the beauty of the iPod at all. My only regret is not getting it earlier, because my iPod is already scratched up, but you can't tell at all with the case on.

Great case. Considering how picky I am, to give this a 5 stars is a big deal. And it's cheap. Get it!

The top of my case doesn't stay clipped tight. It's still very usable, but if you squeeze the top together you feel slight movement and hear a 'click', but when you let go you hear the 'click' again and it goes back to being not tight again.

Also, I ordered it for it's matte coating. Which I really like, however, it's already starting to peel off around the volume buttons and the bottom corners.

So basically, it's an inexpensive case that does the job, but look elsewhere if you're looking for quality.

Reading the reviews for this product is confusing, as all reviewers do not seem to have received the same product. I received a one-piece cover for the back only, which is what I wanted. Unfortunately, the fit is much too loose and the cover falls off at the slightest touch. Useless.

I love this case cover, it's like a skin and it feels wonderful. It protects my IPT from scratches and allows me to use the camera without another protective covering. The openings are in the right place as well for easy access to the buttons. I received one compliment on it so far.

Depending on what your needs are, there are two types of iPod cases out there; ones that offer some kind of protection should you drop your iPod, and ones that merely protect it from scratches.

Personally, it makes no sense to me to buy a beautiful, sleek and thinner-than-the-last-gen device and then entomb it in thick rubber or plastic. I'd much rather watch my butterfingers and instead have a skin or minimal case to control scratches.

If that's what you're looking for -- look no further. This case is gorgeous. I could not be happier, I absolutely love it.

Those of you familiar with the Air Jacket made for previous generations of the iPod Touch & iPhone -- THIS IS BETTER. It's cheaper, it's a nicer design, and it hugs the bevel on the 4th Gen Touch. I thought I loved the Air Jacket -- which was an insanely over-priced piece of plastic -- but this case exceeds the Air Jacket in every possible way.

The plastic has a nice feel to it, and it's black throughout -- not just a black coating on the inside. It has a faint, rubberish feel to it -- but it's not that sort of rubbery material that attracts dust or lint. This is a nice matte finish and it isn't slippery when you're holding it. Even though I have no expectations that this case would offer any protection against dropping my Touch -- it does seem like the rubberized coating would absorb some shock.

Also a plus -- the cut-away bottom allows my iPod to sit in all of the various docks I have without needing to remove the case. This alone is brilliant.

This has to be the best case type I have ever owned for an iPod touch, regardless of the model. This case is very slim and therefore it will not interfere with docking stations. It snaps on very easy. It leaves the top where the power button is and the bottom where the connector, speaker, and 3.5mm plug are open (mainly clips to the sides). I have been putting this in my pocket with keys and this case protects the aluminum from scratches (unlike silicone cases)!! Overall its the best case I've ever owned for an iPod touch. - Ipod Touch 4g - Case - Black - Cover'

Ipod Shuffle

I just got my new shuffle in the mail today. I needed something for running and dreadmilling when it is too snowy/icy to run outside.

My initial impressions:

Pros

Great little thing (small)

strong clip

easy to use (hooray for buttons!)

simple, multi-position switch on the top lets you play in order or shuffle. Voice over button is easy to use and works well.

Easy to sync (choose playlists, genius playlists, albums, artists, podcasts, etc...)

Looks good (see my notes about online photos at the bottom)

Long (15h) battery life.

EDIT: A "hold" function has been added, just hold the center button to activate and deactivate, good feature. It would be useful if I had just gotten mine, but I learned how to use it without the feature so I don't end up using hold much.

Cons

None. (As far am I concerned, there are cons like "no screen" and such, but if you order this to get an ipod shuffle, not a nano or other mp3 player, you will not be disappointed. I was not let down at all).

EDIT: After some thought and use, I thought of some cons.

$50 for 2gb is not a great price compared to other mp3 players.

2gb might be limiting to you. This just means you have to choose or let itunes choose what music goes on there carefully.

Because the buttons take up most of the front of the ipod, it can be hard to use the clip while it is turned on without pressing the next button.

Conclusion:

If you know what an ipod shuffle does, need a reasonable music player that syncs with your itunes, and don't need more. GET ONE!!! I can't imagine you will be let down.

One last note: From all the photos online, you can't really tell, bu this is not a matte finish ipod. The finish is shiny, but not mirror-y. And actually, no one will care about this, but the top and bottom are matte silver. It looks good. Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB Silver (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Apple iPod shuffle 2 GB Silver (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

I bought the Ipod Shuffle 4th generation to replace my 5th generation 30 gb Ipod, which now has inadequate battery power. I have used the Shuffle for a few days now, since it arrived in the mail from Amazon.com. There are a few small downsides too it, that can easily be ignored. The usb cord that plugs into both the computer and ipod shuffle is about four inches long. It's also hard to clip the shuffle onto my pants without pressing a button at the same time. I don't mind these cons as long as I'm careful not to lose the short cord. I also don't mind pressing a button (usually on the face) while I clip it onto my pants, as it usually just rewinds the song a few seconds, or skips to the next song--which can easily be set back to the original song by pressing the back button.

I really like the VoiceOver feature on the Shuffle. In a feminine monotone voice, it'll tell you what song you're listening too or what playlist you're using. And for 2gb of music, it's not bad, and holds just about as much music as I will ever need. I also like how I can put playlists on the Shuffle, which can come in handy when I want to listen to a certain genre.

I should also mention that I chose the blue color. It's not the same color as the display picture, and is actually more of a smoky blue color--which is still a really pretty color.

________

I copy and pasted the following from the Apple website for those who are confused on how to use the VoiceOver feature (Like I was). [...]

Just to correct some of the previous reviews...the big problem with the 3rd gen shuffle was not that it was "too small" or even that the controls were not on the unit itself, but instead were on the headphone line...the problem was if those controls got even the SLIGHTEST (and I do mean slightest) bit of moisture on them it would totally jack up the shuffle. Now, what kind of activities would most people buy the tiny shuffle mp3 player for versus a nano or standard iPod? Oh, maybe jogging or working out? And what do you do with physical activities like this? That's right, you sweat! So it doesn't take a rocket scientiest to see the problem with the 3rd gen shuffle...a problem that should have been seen before they ever even produced it. Just read all the reviews for the 3rd gen and you'll see that this was not just a minor issue, but a huge one that the majority of the users had to deal with. It is good to see they came to their sense and we can once again use the shuffle during exercise.

The iPod that I currently use on a daily basis is my Apple iPod shuffle 4 GB Silver (3rd Generation) OLD MODEL. The main problem with THAT UNIT for me is that there is no other option than to use the Apple earphones, seems a greedy move by Apple. When the 4th generation came along, and I heard it had buttons I started to get excited. I would be able to use the Bose In Ear headphones with it. I don't exactly know why, but I wished the second generation shuffle would become available again. There was no hold function on the unit I tested, and the square shape wasn't something I was accustomed to.

Here's a general list of pros & cons:

PROS:

-Longer battery life[15h, compared to 10h on 3rd gen, and 12h on 1st & 2nd gen]

-BUTTONS were returned to the unit itself [not on the earphone cord]

-Price dropped to $49, dropped by about 17%

-Another color choice added, ORANGE

CONS:

-Price, $49 for 2GB, not great compared to other brands

-No hold function, though I hear Apple might add one

-No option for 4GB of storage anymore

-USB cable is 45mm[about 1.8 inches] VERY SHORT

-When the clip is pushed, it's hard not to push one of the buttons

-Buttons slightly harder to press than other models

-Square shape makes it harder to use when not looking.

Thanks for reading, hope the review helped.'

Western Digital - hard drive, western digital

Made better than some internal power cables for sata. Thick in the right places. I had some cheaper extensions break because it was thin and cracked after a few insert/pull situations while swapping parts during troubleshooting situations. Connectland CL-CAB40021 Molex to SATA Power Cable

I bought this molex to SATA power cable adapter to use in a Gateway PC when the power supply failed. I searched the web to find a replacement power supply but the sites I visited, including eBay, was asking anywhere from $47 with $10 S&H to $70 with $12 S&H. I pulled a power supply from an old Dell Optiplex tower. However, it has an IDE adapter so I search the Internet for a molex to SATA power cable and I found it here on Amazon for a mere $2.10. Needless to say, it worked like a charm and I saved nearly $50!

Got it, installed it, works fine. Only had one sata drive to use with it but works fine. I don't know if the other connector works cause I dont need it but the one I am using works great. Good product if you need some extra sata power connectors.

Very pleased with the quality of this adapter cable. Works flawlessly and the price is fantastic. Allowed me to power up my new Sata hardrive and DVD drive to my older Dell desktop. Don't hesitate this is a very good value.

Received the product in record time. Price was cheap. Product is 1st rate. Moved my WD 1TB USB external drive to become the DishNetwork's media drive (HD eats up space in a hurry) and choose to buy another internal drive for my computer. Now I have spare power plug for a future add-on.

Bought a couple of these to have as spares when working on client machines. Works well providing two extra serial power. Just to avoid a blonde moment ensure the motherboard you intend it for has enough serial ports or else the cable will be rendered useless. - Hard Drive - Western Digital - Storage - Internal Hard Drive'

Electric Toothbrush - oral b, oral-b

Dentists all over the country are recommending the Oral-B electric toothbrush. There are several reasons. It does the work for you, vibrating thousands of times a second, it lets you clean your teeth without scraping your gums with a toothbrush, which can cause them to recede and bleed, and it reaches between your teeth to catch plaque and germs. This is a wonderful toothbrush, and I recommend it. However, if you want a review of a toothbrush, you'll read the toothbrush page. This is a page for replacement heads. There's a lot of confusion about replacement heads for Oral B electric toothbrushes on Amazon, and I just want to give you all some facts. There are only three kinds of heads for ALL Oral-B electric toothbrushes. Flexisoft EB17, Extrasoft EB17, and Ortho OD17. I prefer Flexisoft EB17, which is what this item is. (The Extrasoft is a little too soft, and the Ortho is overpriced)The reason I mention this is that the prices are all over the board for what is the same product. For example, this listing is for three Flexisoft EB17 heads for $19.99 (The EB17-3 just means there are three of them). There are other offers through Amazon partners for this exact same item for $9.99. Make sure you find the best deal, because they're all the exact same product, listed multiple times!

[This price] for three heads may seem pricey given what you can pick up three toothbrushes for, but the Braun electric toothbrush is really very effective, so for good dental hygiene it is worth getting.I like the colour rings provided in these sets, which allow multiple users to make use of a single electric toothbrush handle. The heads go white with use to tell you when they are ready for replacement.

product was different than picture. please make sure the products number if u want to order from this seller.

if it was a right one, still it was too old and seems like outdated(expired) stuff.

after returning to them, i couldn't get refund; i used the amazon dispute claim services for my refund.

I ordered this item from the seller shown above, but got it from different seller (Mr. Bargain). The description says '3 refills'. The package I got had 4 refills, and none of them could fit my professional care toothbrush.

These brushes are a very effective way of thoroughly cleaning your teeth and gums. The soft bristles clean your teeth and massage your gums efficiently, and the color bands are a convenient way to color-code heads for multiple users. There's even a spare in case you lose one.Of course you should still floss before brushing, but the small soft brush and the speed of the rotation makes daily dental hygiene easy and painless. When I ordered this item, it was shipped by an Amazon partner, who packaged it in a HUGE box, filled with plastic packing material. I could hardly find the small package inside the carton.High marks for the product, huge waste of packing material and postage for the packaging.

Purchased these items a few weeks ago. Already one head has fallen off and the second one is coming loose! These are somehow sub-standard or didn't pass quality control. They look original, but aren't up to the normal standard of replacement heads I have previously purchased.

I purchased a multi-pack of electric toothbrush heads from USHealth Tests and Products (via Amazon) several months ago. Unfortunately the competitive price of this product did not make up for the poor quality and unsafety of it. During brushing, small pieces of metal came out of the toothbrush heads and shot into the gums and lips, sometimes causing lacerations. After this, the round brushing part of the head would come loose itself.

After 3 of the toothbrush heads did this, I contacted the seller by email and then by phone and explained the problem to them. They apologized and explained that this was a generic product from a chinese manufacturer and although they had never run into this/any problem with their products before, they would send me a replacement (oral B original) product. I agreed.

Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, as I began to use these "original oral B" toothbrush heads, the same problem has recurred with pieces of metal shooting out of the rotating toothbrush head during brushing and hitting the gums and lips. I've been using oral B electric toothbrushes for a few years and have never seen anything like this. I'm not exactly sure if this second set I have received are really oral B products or not.

My point is that low price apparently means poor quality, at least in the case of this seller.

I purchased this from Mr. Bargain. As some others have noted, the package may have been imported from Germany. The text on the package is in several languages including English.

It is a Braun product, not any imitation. I immediately started using one of the brush heads to test it. It seems perfectly normal and fine, exactly the same as the brush heads that came with the original Braun toothbrush.

Mr. Bargain's service was outstanding. Within about 2 hours of placing the order on Amazon.com, I received an email from Mr. Bargain that it was being shipped. The email included the USPS tracking number. I received the product the next day by US Mail, packed in a nice padded envelope. - Refill - Power Toothbrush - Oral-b - Oral B'

Cardstock - greeting card paper, blank cards

This works very nicely for printing my own cards. I use a scoring blade on my paper cutter to make a nice fold and the card looks beautiful. Envelopes are available separately for the half fold and quarter-fold size cards. When bought like that, it saves big bucks over the inkjet card and envelope packs and I get the same results. If you make lots of cards, this is the way to do it. Wausau Paper Card Stock, 96 Brightness, 65 lb, Letter, Bright White, 250 Sheets per Pack (91904)

The quality of this product is superior and the price is competitive to other brands. This is perfect for a wide variety of my DIY wedding projects including place cards, invitations, RSVP postcards, and wine stem labels! So versatile!

The Wausau card stock paper is just what I needed to make cards for so many occasions. It works well with my all in one printer and folds neatly and evenly to form the cards. I would recommend this paper to anyone wanting to print their own cards off at home.

I went to Staples to purchase paper and envelopes to make my greeting cards, and found it to cost twice as much for the same quality of paper and envelopes I purchased from Amazon, so, needless to say, I'll buy my paper this way for now on since I make all my own cards. - Blank Cards - Greeting Card Paper - Card Making - Cardstock'

Cannon Powershot Sd1200is - canon digital camera, image stabilization

...is one you'll have with you. The nice thing about the Canon ELPH series is they easily fit into your pocket, are well built/designed, don't cost a lot, come with a boatload of features, and take great pictures. The SD1300, the latest in the ELPH line continues in that tradition, adding considerable additional sophistication and sacrificing some useful functionality in the interest of cutting cost.

It is a small camera and carries with it the baggage that comes with the convenience of having to carry so little baggage. (sorry, couldn't resist) None of the issues raised, given that they comes as part of the convenience trade-off made me consider anything other than the 5-star rating this camera deserves.

- Many of the functions are only accessible through menus, sometimes several levels deep. The good new is the Automatic and scene modes are pretty good (as long as you spend a few minutes reviewing what they really do). This camera is not intended to be used in aperture or shutter priority, let alone full manual.

- The battery life might be shorter than you expect. That's a trade-off for having a camera that's small and light; you get a battery that is small and light. One thing you can do is get a spare battery. That is good advice for any camera. Another thing that will help is to keep the display off as much as possible. That means using the monitor as little as possible. The "sad" part is that Canon chose to drop the optical viewfinder in this model. That means a camera that is simpler and less expensive to make but will go through batteries quicker because you must use the display when taking picture.

- The camera response is a bit slow for effectively capturing children and pets. The trick for doing that is to either have a great sense of timing and a shutter that reacts instantly or a reasonably fast ( > 4x / sec ) burst mode. This camera has neither.

Some other suggestions that apply:

- Use the lowest ISO available given your requirement for either aperture or shutter speed. To avoid getting technical, higher ISO always introduces higher noise. At issue is when it becomes noticeable. In newer dSLR cameras you can get over 1000, maybe well over depending on the camera, before the noise becomes noticeable. For this camera keeping it at or below 200 is a good idea.

- Don't use in-camera sharpening. Digital pictures will almost always benefit from sharpening but you are better off doing it with a photo editing program. Computer-based algorithms tend to be more sophisticated and you can better judge the results on your monitor as opposed to the camera LCD.

- If you want more vivid colors and have the choice use sRGB instead of Adobe RGB. While you get fewer colors they are distributed over a wider range. They are also render better on computer monitors, many commercial labs, and any other place your pictures are likely to show up.

Finally, I've found the Caselogic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black/Gray) is just the right size for this camera. It's semi-rigid so you get a fair amount of protection but doesn't add a lot of bulk. It's made even better by using one of these, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01 Size-1 S-Biner, Black, 2-Pack, to secure it to a belt loop.

BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews can take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've received from other reviewers and work hard to return the favor as best as I can. I hope you found this review helpful and if there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it. Canon PowerShot SD1300IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD (Green)

I will try to share some things I have discovered about this camera, these are just my thoughts, I hope they might be of help .

Some things I am compairing to a canon SD1200 and the SD940, SD1400.

I do not use the viedo enough to judge that part of the cameras.

** No SD memory card included with this camera **, see below

* Some will miss the eye viewfinder that the SD1200 has.

* Some will miss the HD 720p in the movie mode that the SD940,SD1400 has, The SD1300 has 640x480 at 30fps like the canon SD1200, G11 and S90.

* The SD1300 has ( no optical zoom while recording video ) just digital zoom.

* There is a date feature on the SD1300, see below

* The flat button arangement is the same as the SD1200 all but the (( Power Button )) on top is larger and easier to turn on and off, I like that ( but be careful ) it does not come on in your pocket, purse or in your soft camera case.

* I have not had any trouble using any of the buttons even with my big old hands. The flat buttons on the SD1300 are a ( tad larger than on the SD940 and SD1400 ).

* The menu screens are large and very easy to read and use.*

* You get a 2.7inch very clear LCD screen that has a (very good and wide viewing angle in all directions).

Note > when your LCD screen is set to a lower brightness you can push and hold down the display button for 1 second and it will go to the brightest setting and do that again and it will go back to the lower setting...

A 28mm x 112mm lens, a little better than the 35 x 105 on the SD1200 ( But no view finder on the SD1300 ).

* The SD1300 is very easy to use and small enough to carry every place you go for those spontaneous grand kid pictures like the SD 1200 was .

Just a very good basic camera.

* I like that the mic for the video is in the front of the camera instead of being on the top (where I put my finger) like the canon SD970 and others, it picks up less finger movement noise being in the front.

** Timing and Performance** ( Using program mode )> Very fast start up time of just over 1 sec.

I can not tell any difference in shot to shot or flash shot to shot times between the SD1300 and the SD1200 using them in the program mode, which is ( 2secs with out the flash ), and 3 to 4secs with the flash on, (( up to 6secs for full flash recharge )).

(Update > Some of review sites(C-NET) are getting around 2.7 to 3 seconds for the SD1300 between shots with out the flash so I grabed the two cameras and tryed the two again(SD1300 SD1200) with and with out the flash on and I had the same results both ways, ((I used program mode)) both times and they would focus and recharge the flash evenly also...)

Shutter lag is good for a canon point and shoot but if you ( pre focus ) that will help even more. To pre focas > > Push shutter button down half way untill camera beeps and green square apears on LCD screen, picture should be clearly in focas at this point, if not let up on the shutter button and repeat the steps again. these steps will also help take a good clear (in focas) picture, just something for you to try if your having trouble getting your picture.

I never tested the continuous shooting( but see my battery test) but canon says it is 0.9 per sec where the sd 1200 is 1.4 shots per sec, if that is important to you. UPDATE > The 1200 does seem to be faster, quicker than the 1300 in continuous mode, how much I dont know but you can tell the difference...

* (Battery) I did test the battery (NB-6L same battery as SD1200) by using continuous shooting mode ( with the flash on ) and got well over 400 pictures and it was taking ( 1 picture every 2 seconds or less in the continuous mode( flash on ) if that helps you out on the continuous shooting part, and when I turned the flash off it seemed to do prety good coming from a newer small canon point and shoot world.

* (Battery life). In real life I get around 300 or more pictures with some of them using the flash, your still need a second battery for a backup.

* The battery has a little larger capacity at 1000mAh in the SD1300, were as the canon SD940 and the SD1400 is a smaller capacity at 760mAh if that matters to you.

** A nice backup battery is a (power2000) for canon NB-6L (1200mAh)$19.00. I have used them for years.

I really like the battery charger that comes with the camera, it is small and charges quickley, about one and a half hours the very first charge and then one hour or less there after...

Some set back the brightness of the LCD a couple of notches to save some battery. I think your new battery will do better after the first couple of charges.

* 10/30/2010 At the Columbus zoo we shot 350 pictures and a lot of them with flash on with one charge...

** Very good image quality keeping the iso at 200 and below.

I am getting about the same image quality as the SD 1200 which is very good for this small size point and shoot camera.

* As point and shoots get better we often try and compare them to digital SLRs ( speed, noise, ISOs, picture quality ) but because of the point and shoots very small sensors and craming all those mega pixels into them it is just asking to much of the little cameras....

Fewer pixels mean there's more room on the sensor and the individual pixels can be made larger to gather more light, making the camera better able to record low-noise images in low-light situations.

This is just me, but I like using the program mode and 100,200iso best and I try not to use the auto mode indoors ((auto works good outdoors in good light though, Lighting is everything. Indoors alot of times auto seems to want to use a (very high iso)(and sometimes no flash) to get low light photos, but this just results in more noise, which makes your pictures look noisy grainy or snowy looking on larger prints,(or the yellow tint that some are talking about).

* I use program mode and set the iso indoors to (( 100iso ))in good light conditions or ( 200 iso ) in poorer light indoors for the best image quality indoors with out all noise in the picture. Again auto does good outdoors in good light but keep your eye on the iso in auto indoors...

* Portrait mode does better indoors than auto in keeping the iso down. It uses 200iso and below. not bad...

*They also have taken away the supper fine quality option for the last couple of years , you just have fine and normal now, I miss the supper fine option...

The more I use this camera the more I find myself useing ( 100iso in program mode ) in good light conditions indoors or outdoors). Again indoors you might have to use 200 to get the picture you like...

** Just a side note, before judgeing the camera and your picture quality on your computer or camera screen get some pictures printed out, why I say this I thought the pictures that I took at the rest home were just ok, but I took them to the store and had 8 by 10s made and they look so so much better, you can see these pictures on this site under (view and share images on the SD1300s home page). I wish you could see the printed ones...

* A lot of the review sites blow there pictures way up and look for defects, your likely to only make 5x7 or 8x10s and not see (what they see).

If you are going to make larger prints or need a better (low light camera) and still stay in a point and shoot you could go with a canon S90, S95 or the bigger G11, G12, but (much more money I know)! Just keep the iso down at 200 and below and you will do fine...)

* The SD1300 seems to have a nice sharp lens even at the telephoto end of the zoom.

Highlights sometimes tend to blow out in very bright sun (direct light source) as with all small cameras(small sensor) this size, you can see this in some of the pictures I posted on this sight for the 1300. ( But to be fair my G11 does this also ).

I do not use I-Contrast in the program mode while shooting, some times in play back I will try it but I am not a big fan of it even then, it will brighten the picture up in dark areas but seems to increase the noise a little, again this is just me alot of people seem to like it and have good luck with it see what you think...

In auto mode you have no controll of I-Contrast and can not turn it off or on...

* I just realy like the colors in the pictures that the canon cameras produce, again thats just me thinking out loud.

Not much problem with red eye in pictures useing the SD1300 unless in a very dim lit room and there are some times when it can not modify or fix it in red-eye correction,

I have many small newer canon cameras and it is no worse or better with red eye than the rest of my newer cameras with red eye correction.

The SD1300 has a touch more style, larger LCD and a little more virsatle lens than the SD1200, but the 1200 is also a very good camera.

The SD1300 does have a weak battery door cover like the SD1200.

*No Memory card * You do not get a (SD Memory Card) with the camera, they just do not include a card anymore, just be aware so you won't be with out one.

A 4gb card ( class 4 or class 6 ) would be a good place to start (if your going to use the movie mode any at all ).

You could get by with a 2gb ( which is good for about 632 pictures ) if not using the video mode much.

A 4gig SD card would be good for 1,231 pictures.

* If your new to this digital camera stuff remember to low level format the SD card first thing.

( Save your pictures first, doing this will also erase all your pictures. )

* I have used the SD1300 for about 12 months now and is holding up very well.

* There is a date feature on the SD1300, it shows up on the right side at the bottom of the picture.

You can see it when reviewing the photo...

Push menu button and scroll down, it is the very last idem there, You have 3 choices,(off), (date), (date and time)...

When you go to take your picture your screen will have the word (DATE) on the screen above the iso reading, right side at bottom so you will know it is on...

* I carry my camera in a little phone case that has a belt clip not a loop for fast & easy on and off the belt.

* OK, your right I could lose it that way...

I definitely recommend picking up a small camera case for protection, watch out for cases using velco, the velco likes to grab ahold of you camera strap and not let go.

I also like theLowepro Apex 20 AW (Black) CASE it has room for spare battery, sd card cable, cleaning cloth). It has a little rain coat also. Good for hikers and backpackers.

The Lowepro Napoli 20 case is very nice but no room for spare battery on this one and could let dust in case, not fully inclosed.

Be carefull of some of the canon cases, the metal magnet catch on the flap might or could scratch the cameras LCD screen takeing it out or puting it in the case (just my thoughts).. I am sure alot people like them and have good luck with them, this is just my opinion, The canon case I have (Canon PSC-55 Deluxe Leather Compact Case) has no room for a spare sd card or spare battery if that would help you any.

These are very nice and roomy cases, with alot of storage > Case Logic DCB-302 Compact Camera Case (Black)

Case Logic DCB-302 Compact Camera Case (Gray)

One more case to look at Case Logic QPB-201 EVA Molded Compact Camera Case (Black) Only one zipper on this one and xtra battery seems to slide out of case a tad to freely .

* In the menu mode I set the I S mode to continous.

The display overlay to grid lines(the grid lines help me take straighter pictures, you may use it for the 1/3 rule also).

I set review to 2seconds,

AF-assist beam to on,

Review info to off,

Lens retract to 0 seconds.

White ballance to auto, if this would be of any help to you.

I like using continuous shooting mode alot also.

I like to set the AF (auto focas) frame

to center (some times) instead of face AiAF and just shoot (focas) on what ever that I am shooting , this is found in the main menu setting, Again this is just me dont take this advice to the bank but check it out if you want or have the time...

I posted some pictures on this site ( see > View and share related images on main page ) for the SD1300, to give you some idea about how your pictures would look (color - sharpness - moving shots - iso noise in pictures - zooms - modes - cropped pictures), if that would help.

* Please look at everybodys pictures to see what you think before you buy the SD1300.

(( Please if mine pictures are not helpful vote them down and I will delete those, I need to delete a lot of them, please help me out here, Thanks...)

If you have any questions I will try to answer them the best I can, no camera is perfect...well not many.

My favorite SD point & shoot was a canon SD550, SD850, SD880, I thought the SD1100 and SD870 were very good looking cameras but never had a chance to use one of them, what was your fav canon SD...

I mostly take pictures of bear in the Smokey Mountians (CADES COVE) and love chaseing the grand kids around taking their pictures. ( And this year the Outter Banks NC ).

Update 2/3/2011 > The new replacement camera for the SD1300 is being called a Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS 12 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 4X Optical Zoom (Grey)

Comes in 5 colors (Blue, Silver, Grey, Pink and Orange)

Note one of many changes is that they did change the battery used to a NB-4L 760mAh from the NB-6L 1000mAh battery if that would be any of help.

Many other interesting changes also, some are good and some not so good , Alot of bells and whistles on this one, check it out... - Compact - Cannon Powershot Sd1200is - Image Stabilization - Canon Digital Camera'
