Ryobi 18v Battery

I have owned this battery for over six months and there have been no problems. It is charged in an unheated garage in Colorado and no cold weather problems have been detected. The difference between this battery and the older Ni-Cad is like night and day.

There are 3 batteries available in Li-Ion configuration for the Ryobi 18v tools. The small P103, limited amp-hours, but inexpensive and smaller. The 2.4 amp-hour and the 3 amp-hour. Amps is current, the higher the current drawn through the circuit, the more power. The 3amp-hour battery can run at 3 amps of current draw for an hour. The 2.4 amp-hour runs at 2.4 amps for an hour, approximately 20% less. The 2.4 amp-hour battery is $89.95, that's $37.48 per amp-hour of capacity. The 3 amp-hour battery is 129.49, thats $43.33 an amp-hour of capacity. The difference in price between the batteries is 31%. So, you pay 31% more for 20% more power. The casual homowner only using his tools occassionally, the 2.4 would probably be fine. A heavier user, or someone wanting the maximum power available, should probably go with the 3.0.

4/2011 update, battery still strong, no issues, one thing I have noticed, on the coldest winter days, by cold I mean 15 or below, when the battery is returned to the charger the charge green light does not immediately go on. If I bring the battery into the house and warm it for a few minutes, then retuen it to the charger, it starts charging immediately.

5/2011 Noticed some comments with many complaints about this battery. I have no factual explanation why other's batteries quit or won't charge. Mine still works well. I have done as much research as possible on the internet and I'm a bit confused. As I stated in my original review (if you believe printed statements from Ryobi) the P104 battery is not the 3ah battery, the 130429002 is. Even though they are interchangable for the tools they power. The P104 is either a 2.4ah or 2.6ah battery, I have seen it rated at both amperages on different web-sites. The price difference between the P104 and the #130429002 is growing, as is the scarcity of the #130429002. My best guess is that the 3.0ah batteries are no longer being made and only the 2.4ah/2.6ah will be the atrongest Ryobi available. JMHO, I could be wrong.

For those who dislike Ryobi batteries there is an alternative;try [...] then search product ID TOL7005 or work your way through "search for" menus. If you search for Ryobi P104 it will show you the TOL7005, if you search for Ryobi #130429002 it shows you the same battery.

Here's more confusion, in the general description they list the battery at 2.6ah, a battery Ryobi rates at 2.4ah, then in the specifications they list it at 3000mah which = 3ah, the same as #3130429002. 400 milliamps may not seem like much but it is a difference of 17% of a P104 or 13% of the 130429002. Either way I'd like to know. One more signficant point; Interstate batteries offers the TOL7005 for under $70 W/3.00 estimated shipping, a strong incentive regardless if it 2.4/2.6 or a full 3ah battery. Ryobi 130429002 ONE Plus 18V 3.0-Ah Lithium-ion Battery

I bought this battery to add to a ryobi set I purchased. It lasted just a little over a year before the charger reported that the battery was defective and it wouldnt power anything.

I've owned a heck of a lot of battery powered rechargeable devices and this is by far the shortest I've ever had a battery last. Most of them decline in length of use for a couple of years but still can go for 10-15 minutes after 2-3 years.

At this price, I'd expect at least a 3 year life span, not 14 months. The other reviewer who said they get you by the short hairs once you buy a lot of their tools is 100% correct.

Don't buy this battery expecting to get a 3.0 Ah battery. Ryobi does not make a battery with this rating. In fact this battery has a rating of 45 Wh which is the equivalent of 2.5 Ah (45/18=2.5) You are better off buying batteries at Home Depot. The last time I looked their batteries had a rating of 48 Wh.

Not only have all of my Ryobi LI-ON batteries gone bad, but after writing Ryobi early this last winter, they confirmed to me that their batteries will NOT charge if they are colder than 50 degrees or over 100 degrees. To me, this makes them virtually worthless. Unless you intend on using them indoors, and want to take a gamble on the batteries working at all, I strongly suggest you pass on these defective products.

I purchased the Ryobi 18V string trimmer and blower set from Home Depot in the summer of 2010, which included this battery.

Just to clear up some confusion, the label on the battery says P104, LI-ION, 18.0V, 45Wh, Battery 130429002. Therefore, the Ryobi model P104 battery appears to encompass several particular part numbers. Maybe product improvements as time marches on.

The battery has worked reliably with both the string trimmer, blower, my Ryobi cordless drills and my Ryobi reciprocating saw. I have no regrets about this battery and would purchase another.'

Sports Games - tebow, ps2 games

I am still an avid PS2 player and I have to say that this is the best football game I've played since ESPN 2K5. I had Madden 11 and I thought it was a decent nuts and bolts game. I decided to sell it out of pure bordom and I picked up this one. First of all, the presentaion is much better and the colors are excellent. The reviews haven't been very good but I think it is a challenging, well presented game. A very underrated game for the PS2. NCAA Football 11

This game is great. I got it for my husband. He loved it BUT he also has the last 2 previous years NCAA games. He was expecting something different but he said it was exactly the same. Also he was disappointed Tim Tebow wasn't even in the game but on the cover. Great game but save your money if you already have the previous year.

The game is exactly the same as last years. same graphics same gameplay same menus same everything. The only things that changed are the rosters and the intro screen.

I"ll say this game is pretty good without even changing because the gameplay is perfect and playing college football is fun during this time. I only played about two games and its challenging and fun. The passing game is great the running game is great Defense is fun too I like to play quarter deep a lot.

all in all if you dont mind playing the same game from last year with a roster update get this game but if you have a xbox360/ps3 stay there.

This game is for nostaglia purposes and people who enjoy the sweet gameplay from yesteryear.

this DJ signing out.

peace!

As has been the case for the last decade or so, the gameplay is wonderful. The SuperSim feature - you can simulate one play, one possession, one quarter, or the entire game - really is a great feature for if you are pressed for time - or just like to play only offense like I do. The dynasty mode is great, the feature of being able to add the lower division teams and created teams into the dynasty is wonderful.

Sadly, unless you are playing a NCAA football game from 2008 or before, there's no reason to buy this game. The gameplay is the same and there really hasn't been any major changes - sadly even the University of Minnesota's new stadium isn't in the game, despite opening in September 2009. The NCAA Football 2011 only seems to have a menu color change and not much more. While the new menus look better, they not worth buying 2011 until there's a major price drop.

Better graphics and authentic motion capture put this NCAA game on top. The dynasty mode is very deep as well, and the game features other less deep options such as "Road to Glory" (Where you play as one player starting in school) and mascot game modes.

It's a fun game but honestly there's no real change from last year to this year, except rosters, to justofy the price. They really don't care about the ps2 games anymore. Still fun game though if you don't have the ps3.

This years game is EXACTLY the same as last years. Even though playstation 3 and XBox have brand new graphics they don't include those on the PS2. This is not worth $40 if you have last years game or not! If you want the graphics from the PS3 and XBOX then youll have to go out and buy one of those and the $60 dollar game. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! If you want an NCAA Football game buy last years for A LOT less money!

I got this for my son for the PS2, since it is not out for the WII. He likes it better than NCAA 09. He would give this five stars. I am annoyed it is not out for the WII, and I don't like buying games for the "old" game system. I would give this three stars for this reason. We split the difference...Shipping was quick.

Folded Knives - pocket knife, multitool

I bought this after looking around at many multitools. I wanted a basic one that I could carry with me in my jeans pocket every day. I thought this would be perfect as it has the key functions I typically run into--cutting, screwdrivers, and can opener.

The Pros:

* It has a nice blade that seems sharp, and the serrated edge helps cut things like rope easily.

* the screwdriver blades seem strong and are easy to use.

The Cons:

* It's heavier and bigger than I expected. I did check the specs out before, but it's kind of hard to get a feel for it until you see it. It's pretty noticeable in a pant pocket and doesn't fit in there all that well. I've found myself not carrying it with me depending on if I have other things that I need to put in my pocket. When I use the clip to hold it to my pocket edge it is more comfortable, but then I can't get my hand in my pocket!

* The can opener is odd. Took a while to figure out as others also mentioned. The clip that closes the carabiner is a poor design and keeps sliding out of place.

Overall: A decent multitool that, but for the size you might want to look for one with more options. Leatherman Expanse e33Tx Combo Straight/Serrated Blade Knife

I bought 3 of this one! this knife is handy, SHARP and beautiful!

i love it and would recommend any to get one.

one small note about it, the flat screwdriver is a bit hard to bring out, but didn't bother me at all since i hadn't had much of a case to use it that much.

Again...

"Beautiful"

In the past I've looked at Leatherman knifes, but didn't want all the extra stuff that most of them have. This is a very well made, substantial knife that has everything I need. My only complaint is the packing. It is packed in a blister pack with the knife blade in the open position. Be very careful opening the blister pack. While opening the pack I accidentally nicked my finger.

I love my Leatherman Wave but it's a pain to carry around all of the time. This knife never leaves my side. People have had issues with the lock but myine seems to catch perfectly. Blade is nice and sharp and has the three of my most used tools built right in. Some people think it is a little on the fat side, but compared to a wave this is a lot easier to carry around.

This leatherman is durable and compact, holds everything you need to go outdoors or fix a few emergency items. The harbinger is nice to have when needing to open a bottle. The only con is that the knife was a bit dull out of the package. You can always sharpen it, but since this is a serrated blade, you must proceed with caution. Normal sharpening methods can damage the blade. It's best just to take the knife to a professional to get the sharpening done right.

The stainless part of the handle is clearly solid metal in the photos on the Leatherman site. The stainless part on the unit I received is cheap stamped metal with sharp edges. The handle is plastic under the metal cover. The blade seems well made, everything else feels and looks cheap. Perhaps mine was a counterfeit, the order was filled by Electronica Direct.

This is the sharpest knife I've ever owned right out of the box.

When my Swiss Army "Tinker" finally wore out, I wanted an American made knife to replace it. The e33Tx is slightly larger than its Swiss Army counterpart, but it looks much, much cooler. Also, the features are great (even the bottle opener) and it is really durable. The pocket clip and carabiner are handy and the screw drivers are exactly what you'd expect from a Leatherman multi-tool.

I would recommend this knife to anyone and I intend on buying a couple more for my hiking buddies when the holidays roll around.

This is the third Leatherman knife I have purchased in the past few years -- and I only had to purchase this one because people stole the first two! I guess that's saying something. I actually originally got a nicer model the first two times, but I figure I'd try a more basic model just in case it gets stolen again. The whole piece is very durable as I use it daily. I do have to sharpen the knife every once in a while, but that is expected. If you need an easy to use piece for cutting, with occasional need for screwdriver, this works perfectly and will last a long time!

This has become one of my favorite knives (next to my Benchmade) I carry it almost all the time. Screw drivers and bottle opener have been handy to have.

The only negative is that the knife is on the heavy side. - Pocket Knife - Edc - Multitool - Folded Knives'

Masturbators For Her - sex toy, handheld massagers

I've had HomeMedics and Conaire and several other brands, and I've been very disappointed in all of them. But the Wahl vibrates right down to the bone and gets to the source of the trouble. For half the cost of an hour with a masseur, you can pleasure yourself for hours! Highly recommended. Wahl 4196-1001 Heat Therapy Heated Therapeutic Massager

This is definitely worth the price. The day after it arrived, I managed to sprain an index finger and this unit (with and without heat) took out most of the discomfort and allowed some flexibility without pain. Have used it on shoulders and on my foot which is partially numb due to nerve damage. It worked wonders. I loved my old unit that died, but this replacement is even better. Definitely a 'keeper'.

Just wanted to echo the other reviewers. High setting gives good vigorous body massage. Low setting can be used for scalp or face. One note is that product not good for reaching to upper back - Homedics seems to have products better for that. The head assortment can also be useful, but not sure how important the heat option is. The best thing I found about the heat option is that I like that particular head best for body massage.

Upon opening the product, I tested the massage function and it worked great. Lots of good attachments that really loosened up my shoulder immediately. However, as soon as I put the heating attachment on, the plastic rim around it started to crack and fall off. And not just a tiny bit, but the entire ring. I thought I had used the product incorrectly, but re-read the instructions front to back and found that I had followed them to the letter. In fact, there was a blurb about NEVER using the heating attachment if the plastic ring cracks or falls off. So I'm not sure if that was included because this is something that happens regularly or what, but needless to say I was very disappointed. Again, I hope this is the exception and not the rule. All of the other reviews seem pretty positive which is why I was so disappointed.

This massager is very strong and works well. It seems to be a decent product so far and I would recommend it to others. I am not so certain if the heating option included in this model is super helpful or remarkable but the motor and vibrating ability is top notch. I haven't used the model below this one that doesn't have the heat function but it may be a more economical option for those seeking a good massager being that it costs about half as much as this one with the heat option included. Also, the heat option in this particular model is only usable with one of the exchangeable massager heads that fit on this massager.

My husband and I purchased this because we cannot give each other long back massages with our fingers and hoped this would help us increase the frequency of massages we could give. However if I could improve this then I would make it cordless, put the on and off buttons in a different spot other than the handle, and I would make the heated feature just a little hotter (I could not personally feel any heat other than the heat from the metal contact with my skin and heat caused by the friction of moving it around.) The machine itself is extremely sturdy, no rattling, or too much shaking that causes hand fatigue.

I am not unhappy with this product.

I will always believe you can trust anything with the Wahl name I am certain of that!

I totally love this product. It comes with 6-7 attachments for massaging various parts of the body. I especially love the "comb-like" attachment for massaging the scalp. This attachment loosens dandruff and stimulates the scalp, putting you to sleep and making you very relaxed. The heat attachment (red) is great! It can be used on any part of the body, and never gets so hot that it's dangerous to the body. It's great after a cold winter day and a tiring day at work.

For the money, I highly recommend this product. It does a better job than many massagers that cost 3x's as much!

Great choice, glad I purchased it!

Until I read the many positive reviews, I was hesitant in purchasing this particular massager as I thought it wouldn't be powerful enough. Well, am I glad I listened to the positive reviewers because the Wahl 2-Speed with Heat is just the ticket for me.

There are assorted attachments which I have not used yet because my preference is the massager with heat attachment. If you are experiencing sore joints or muscles and want a good massager at an affordable price, then this Wahl 2-Speed Hand-Held Massager with Heat is for you!

Thumbs up to Amazon (as usual) for an earlier than expected shipment arrival!

By chance, I encountered another brand of massager in a store, used it for a bit, thought I could use one of these things, went home and googled them all. I wound up checking out everything that Amazon.com sold and offered reviews on. I always check out the worst reviews first, proceeding to the 5-stars and chose this model because it seemed to offer the most for me.

Almost all of the negative points were well taken and valid but the positives outweighed them and I haven't been disappointed with my purchase. Nothing was or has broken. The short 6-ft. cords mentioned are not a factor because this unit has a 9-ft. cord. I find that the muscle kneading attachment at the high amplitude setting is most effective for me. The red deep heat attachment gives additional muscle relief that the non-heat attachments don't. The criticism regarding pain when the massager runs over a bone is valid--just don't do that.

The criticism regarding accidentally turning off a switch is valid but you learn not to do that either. The size, shape and weight seem optimal. Another manufacturer's massager has two vibrating heads but for me two heads are not better than the Wahl's one when used as recommended. - Massager - Sex Toy - Handheld Massagers - Heated Massagers'

Samsung Led

I have had this TV for only a few days, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted. The LK520 LG model is very similar to the earlier model LD520 (highly rated), except that the dynamic contrast is apparently a bit better for the LK520(150K to 1 vs 100K), but I suspect that may not be that significant.

INPUT-OUTPUT

It has sufficient inputs (HDMI, component, etc), and outputs, although I still wish these new HDTVs had a regular stereo output (ie., 2 RF outputs) so I could use them with my old amplifier. The LK520 only has 1 optical digital audio output. However, the sound from the LK520 speakers is surprisingly robust, although most will probably want more to complete the home theater experience. The LK520 also has a USB port, but I have not used this yet. The specs say you can connect your external USB devices for JPEG photos or MP3 files. (Note, this model does NOT have any internet connection capabilities--however you could hook this up to a BluRay DVD player that has this capability, if you want it).

I hooked up my cable box via an HDMI cord, and the LK520 provides a clear HD picture and does well with regular SD channels also. I hooked up the TV with component inputs from my oldish DVD player, and it looked very good. (Some day I will get a BluRay, so I can see more pores, I guess, on close ups...).

FEATURES

The LK520 has 120 Hz, so if you watch a lot of sports, this might be important (I don't). So maybe the 60 Hz LG LK450 might be OK for you, and save you 60-80$. However, note that the LK520 has a slightly higher dynamic contrast compared to the 60 Hz 42 inch LG LK450 (150K vs 100K).

The weight is only about 35 lbs, so it is relatively easy (if a bit awkward) to carry around. Also, the screen does not seem to have any serious reflection problems in stronger lighting situations.

The TV picture can be adjusted to your preferences, but I found the default settings good enough for me. It is Energy Star rated, which is good, but I found the "intelligent sensor" adjustments a bit too dark for me. However, you can adjust this as your wish.

SUMMARY: I don't think you can go wrong with this excellent LG HDTV. I would rate it at 4.5 stars. Some minor limitations on audio output and the somewhat high price that I paid at a big box store (BB) made me give it a 4 instead of 5.

I may update this if I find any problems later.... LG 55LK520 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV

I previously bought an LG 42LD550, used it for a few months and was quite happy with its quality, but the 42" screen size was a little too small for my living room, so I decided to get a bigger TV instead. The LD550 has better features than the LK520 -- its internet application was one thing that attracted me, but it requires an adapter which doesn't come with the TV, so I never got to test it. I guess I don't need this feature anyway, so I returned it and bought the 47" LK520, at the same price --- it was on sale on Amazon for about 7 hundred.

The shipping:

This model came out in March 2011, and I placed the order in April. I guess because it is relatively new, so I had to wait 4-6 weeks for the product to be shipped.

So after waiting patiently for over one month, my TV finally came. I was expecting the guys from the shipping company to open the box and let me check the TV, just like what they did when I bought the other LG model. I was surprised when they told me they couldn't open the box, and that I should open it on my own, and keep the box for a year in case I need to return it. This sounds a little weird, but I signed the delivery sheet anyway.

The assembling:

It only took a few minutes to assemble this TV. My brother and I laid the panel on my sofa bed with the screen facing down, and secured the base/stand with a few screws. It looks like the stand was made of some cheap plastic. I hope it's more sturdy than it looks.

The look:

This TV has a simple, sophisticate design. I like the matt screen and the glossy black frame. There's a small blue light on the lower right corner when the TV is on. Althought the remote control is easy to use, the design looks boring and cheap, some buttons/features seem like a duplicate to me. But I guess it's not a big deal, as long as it works.

Sound quality:

There are several sound modes you can choose from. It was set to "standard" by default, and the volume was low, but it was much better once I switched it to "music" or "cimema". I also turned on the "surround sound" feature. Over all I am happy with the sound quality.

Picture quality:

I've had this TV for about two weeks now, at first I was impressed with the picture quality -- it's crisp and clear, and the color looks very nice, just like the LD550 model. I set the picture mode to "Cinema" --the "standard" mode is a bit too bright for my sensitive eyes. Of course you can create and save your own picture mode by adjusting the brightness, color, and contrast, etc. But one day I noticed the brightness on the TV screen changed suddenly --- it went darker, then after a while it went bright again (looks similar to when there are rolling clouds in the sky on a sunny day). I didn't turn on the "inteligent sensor" and I think the lighting in my room didn't change. I did not have this problem with the LD550 model. I am not sure if I got a defective item or what. Right now I give this TV a 4 star, and hoping there's an easy fix for the brightness problem. I'll test it for a few more days and decide whether I should call LG, or return it....

*** UPDATE: I found out the reason that my TV would suddenly go darker is because I had the "Engergy Saver" on (it was set to "Auto"). So whenever the sensor in the TV detects a change of lighting in the room, it'll adjust the screen brightness automatically. Sometimes the screen goes so dark I can hardly see. I am not sure how much energy it can save by doing this, but I find it annoying to me, so I turned the feature off, and the problem solved! I am glad I don't have to return this TV. I am happy with my purchase so far.'

Heavy Weight - tall, shirt

I bought one of these shirts from a local retailer awhile ago, and found it great for those cool days with an unlined denim jacket over it. It fits me well and has a stylish appearance. All that, plus the durability of a work shirt. I went back to buy one or two more, but found that that same retailer didn't have them anymore. Many local work clothes stores either didn't have them anymore or never carried them. An Internet search came up with some on-line retailers, but with limited colors and sizes. Amazon had access to what I wanted. I recommend this shirt certainly for work, but keep one or two available in your closet for those weekend days with the kids or doing those weekend errands. RIGGS WORKWEAR by Wrangler Men's Long Sleeve Henley, Navy, Large

These have a nice, thick cotton fabric, and are very well put together. They are fairly loose fitting, as you would expect from a work shirt. They have a very soft and comfortable feel.

The pocket is nice and sturdy, and has a small leather patch (about 1.2 x .6 inches) that furnishes a perfect place to clip in an ink pen. The front has two buttons, and the top one makes the neck quite snug. I usually leave that one unbuttoned, but in cold weather, it would be helpful.

I got two, the forest green and oatmeal heather. I do a lot of airplane travelling, and these are perfect for that. They keep me warm on the flight (that air at 35,000 feet is always cold), and the pocket gives me a place for an MP3 player or whatever needs easy access in those narrow airplane seats. I also wear them as my daily knock-around shirts in fall thru winter. They're even nice enough for casual office settings. - Henley - T-shirt - Shirt - Tall'

Relaxation - coloring, colored pencils

I recently picked up a set of these colored pencils "on a lark" to use as supplemental to my other, more expensive sets, and was pleasantly surprised - no, nearly shocked - at their quality and performance. It's not that they are better than the best Koh-i-noor or Prismacolor pencils (because they aren't), but the truth is that, for their price, they are very difficult to beat. But price alone is not the determinant factor here: if a colored pencil is cheap but performs poorly, then there is no point in picking it up. But what I quickly discovered with these Crayola pencils is that not only are they inexpensive (they break down to only about 20 cents per pencil, compared to anywhere from $1 to $4 per pencil for the more expensive brands), but they perform exceptionally well, to boot.

What do I mean by "perform exceptionally well?" Let me break it down to a short list so I can clearly present what I discovered with these pencils:

1. The pencils have a generally good laydown of color, with the caveat of the few colors that don't work well (true also of my most expensive colored pencils, I must say). Laydown is smooth and uniform, with bright, rich color.

2. The pencils sharpen very well, with ease of cutting through the wood casing and with the color lead core supporting a very fine point when desired.

3. The lead core seems generally resistant to breakage (a problem that can occur with most pencils, even the most expensive).

4. The pencils are physically light.

5. The set comes in 50 colors, which is a great size for lots of drawing without committing to large collection sizes.

Are these pencils as good as the best Swiss, French, and German colored pencils? No. But they are close, and actually much closer than one would ever think, given that these are marketed as kid's pencils. The price is right, the colors are great, and the performance is really good. How can you go wrong? Five stars for price, five stars for color selection, and four stars for performance. Crayola 50ct Long Colored Pencils

I purchased a 12 pack of Prismacolor pencils and then I purchased a 50 pack of these crayola. Not only is the lead in the Prismacolor longer lasting than the Crayola's, but you can also forget sharpening them. No matter how soft I tried to sharpen the Crayola's the lead kept breaking. It would take me 3 broken tips for every one decent tip. The lead is so brittle, that it breaks while sharpening like you wouldn't believe. I tested the strength by using one that had already been shapened, and made one light twist. Just one. It came out broken. I would lose over an inch and a half with each sharpen. Being that the Prismacolor's are twice the cost of the Crayola's-yet the Crayola's are shorter lasting, break-easily, and lay more lead per stroke-that makes the Prismacolor a far better buy. This doesn't even take into account the soft detail of the Prismicolor's. Unless you have a Crayola bumper-sticker on your car, own stock in Crayola, or just have a fetish for non-stop utensil sharpening, buy something else. Now, if you'll excuse me; I have a colored-pencil to sharpen and I only have 15 minutes to do it in...

This set is great! People here talk about how great this set is for young kids, but I am 15 and I think this set is wonderful! My friend uses them all the time, and the results she gets are wonderful. I doubt she could live without them!

No one can resist a pack of these babies for 8 dollars. Hell, even professional artists that use artist quality can't let these go for this awesome price even if they rarely use them.

It's just too much fun to gaze upon them on the shelves of Wal-Mart, but I have to say they look better on your bookshelf at home. Alright colors, not the best quality to lay down, but fun when your cousins come over for some art projects.

You can't get more color in a box than these pencils. I've used them to color anatomy coloring books, draw pictures, and do homework. The funnest part of getting these little gems in the mail, was having to sharpen each and every one. Yup, all 50 of 'em needed to be sharpened. - Pencils - Coloring - Colored Pencils - Crayola'

Really dissapointed with M2. After reading couple reviews on internet decided to purchase that.

- *Very* noisy, looks like there are 2 small fans rotating at crazy rpm. However, after 30 min testing, cold air was coming out from vents (aaxa should have put adjustable rpm fans there, like cpus have). It is so noisy that I can't watch movies with max volume on notebook.

- Huge power adapter. It is 5amps brick, larger than notebooks have.

- Tiny remote and you have to aim really carefully to make it work.

- Image quality\brightness is so-so, you really need to turn off *all* lights if you want to watch a movie.

- Really counter intuitive menu. For example you can navigate only with left\right buttons even when icons are one above another (up\down does not work). Combined with tiny buttons on remote, and that you have to aim really hard - it becomes frustrating trying to control this thing.

- Small things: like rubber lens cap, short VGA cable, cheap plastic look

Max price I would pay for that now is $200. AAXA M2 Pico / Micro Projector, LED, XGA 1024x768 Resolution, 110 Lumens, Media Player, HDMI

Here's a quick review. I just got the projector in today, and we fiddled around with it for about half an hour. I will update this review accordingly, and will definitely be willing to answer any questions you guys have.

PROS:

The obvious pros include the things stated. 100 lumens made it so that we could still see the images, even with all the lights in the room.

The 1024x768 native resolution.

And the most important, VIDEOS:

1) I used this by hooking up our HD Camera, and it played really well. No problems, images came out very clear. We had the projector at least 10"-12" back from the wall, and images were still coming out clear.

2) I wanted to get this projector mainly to play videos, avis. I loaded the avis onto an SD card. More specifically, I loaded FOREIGN films, divx quality. I loaded .srt subtitles within the same folder as the movie. The projector played the subtitle along with the avi.

Movie res was 720x280 25 fps, mpeg4 codec. Video was displayed on the bare wall (White). Projector placed 10-12" from the wall. Did not measure the actual size of image projected, but id guess close to 75". Quality obviously did not appear as crisp as what you would see on your laptop.

CONS:

The fan on this is VERY LOUD. But we hooked external speakers to the unit, and the noise of the fan did not bother us too much. The unit ran very cold (for the 30 minutes we had it on). The surge protector on the other hand was very HOT. This could be a problem later on? I'd keep a close eye on it (off the floor, well ventilated).

I will update this review, the more I play around with this projector. All in all, i am VERY pleased with this. I had no issues with the remote, like Nick mentioned earlier. You do have to aim the remote at the top of the unit, so you can't be at one end of the room and try to use the remote. (almost defeats the purpose of the remote, eh?)

So far the only video format I have tried is divx-avi. I will try mkvs, mp4, etc later, but these formats should play fine from what I've read about it.

I'll try and post a video review. I give it a 4/5. 4 because its a bit pricey, and the fan is way loud.

I am in MOB station in Ft. Hood Tx. On the way to Iraq. Space is the most valuable commodity we have. After shopping for about 2 weeks I finally decided on this little projector for gaming and movie night on deployment. After opening the box this afternoon at about 1800 with the Tx afternoon sun shining through the windows at us I and about 5 other guys started watching 300 on the barracks wall. It wasn't perfect but we could see pretty good on a well lit room. The projector was about 4 or 5 feet from the wall making a picture about the same diagonal size. It was good enough for a bunch of army aviators to enjoy. As the sun crept down the size of our group grew to about 10 and Happy Gilmore was next. The picture was great. I can think of no downside to this purchase. It's convenient to carry and store, great picture and brighter than I expected. The sound is not what I bought it for, the speakers are weak but what did you expect? It's a lot to offer in a small package. I bought a good set of computer speakers and now have a portable theater. This little thing read the movies off of my 1TB USB hard drive. Divx, mp4, VOB, AVI files all worked fine. The remote worked great from behind the projector but that is where the sensor is. I expect this to be the most used item in our barracks in the sand box and my only concern is it will be worn out before I make it back home. As for the fan sound I didn't even hear it. Even before I plugged in the other speakers. It certainly didn't whine or irritate me in any way. The brick of the power supply did get hot at first but actually cooled off as the hours wore on. I have a HUGE old projector at home that SUX compared to this one. I love this little thing and think you will too. If u are looking for a balance of video quality and expense with a huge infasis on compact, portability, buy this thing. My next planned purchases are the AAXA cables to let me connect to my iPad and PSP.

Having personally tried three micro projectors (the AAXA M1, AAXA M2, and Dell M109S), here is what I think of the M2:

Pros:

Lightweight and pretty bright for a projector of this size

Competitive pricing for its class of projectors

Easy to setup

HDMI input

LED light source, meaning energy savings and less switching bulbs

Cons:

More noisy than other projectors in its class

Wish the resolution could be higher

Menus could be easier to use

Having said the above, and even with the caveats of noisiness, etc., I would still recommend this product. This is because it is brighter than the other projectors I've tried (AAXA M1, and Dell M109S), and brightness is really important for micro projectors.

I would like to say that I've had a very positive experience with AAXA technical support. When I first bought the M2 projector, the projection colour was off, and the AC adapter failed. However, AAXA technical support responded quickly to my email about the malfunction and replaced my projector quickly. Now the system is working fine. The service I received was much better and courteous than others.

So:

(1) There are pros and cons as indicated above and in the other reviews.

(2) My projector was defective at first, but

(3) AAXA technical support was responsive and very nice, gave a free replacement very quickly, and I am satisfied.

I hope these points will help other buyers to come to their own conclusions. - Mini Projector - Lcos - M2 - Projector'

Kindle Power Adapters

this is a perfectly good charger, but if you already have a cell phone charger that uses micro USB- you're wasting your money. I have a new blackberry curve, my wife a droid. Both cell phone chargers charge the kindle no problem. Amazon Kindle Replacement Power Adapter (Works with 6", 9.7" Display, 2nd and Latest Generation Kindles)

So, I thought I would share my experience here with getting one of these replaced. The Kindle DX comes with a limited 1-year warranty. The USB/Power cable that comes with it disintegrated after about 1.5 years. Amazon is quite gracious, though, and they are willing to replace the cable for free. But they are not willing to pay shipping on the replacement, because it is after the warranty. Shipping is $6.98, so if you are looking to replace the cable, that is the end cost. It is also not clear what happens if, in another 1.5 years, this cable wears out. Probably if that happens I will forego the cute, matching, unreliable cable for a plain black one that doesn't cost so much to replace all the time.

The long and the short of it is that a $489 device comes with a cable that doesn't last, but that Amazon is somewhat nice in replacing it.

On the other hand, customer service was very nice, and promptly solved my problem, so kudos, guys! I wish you all the best.

I lost my original wall charger and USB adapter while reading on my Kindle during a bus ride. The new one came in quickly before my Kindle lost even a bit of charge. I have found that the wall charger also works with the iPhone 3G USB adapter, giving me an apparent full charge. The voltage is about the same and mAH is lower, so charging does take longer. However, that is one less charger to lose and one more USB space on my laptop. This charger has lasted longer than even the "green" charger I bought from AT&T. Which did not get beyond a week.

I plugged my Kindle in to charge before leaving in the morning. When I arrived home from work, I found the plastic coating had split in many places, exposing bare wire! I found this quite alarming. Reading the reviews on the Amazon website for this product was very helpful. I discovered that this is happening to virtually everyone, and that folks are having various results when contacting Amazon about this matter. When I called I was first told that my Kindle is no longer under warranty and I would have to purchase a new cord on my own. After I emphatically exclaimed that this was clearly a defective product, I was told that my Amazon account would be credited for the price of a new cord, which I could then order. I had noticed that some other reviewers had to pay the cost of the shipping. When pressed, I was advised that my account would be refunded for the price of the shipping once the item had shipped. Some perseverance and persistence was required on my part, but Amazon came through - at least so far. It has not yet been shipped, so I haven't received the promised refund for the shipping cost yet. I'm just wondering how long the new cord will hold up.

In less than two years it was necessary to replace the charger connector cable. In both of the original connector cable simply deteriorated and peeled from the connectors.

Thus I would rate the Kindle charger adapter cable as highly inferior products.

I too join many others in expressing my complaint of the USB cable. It seems the shelf life is only about 1.5 years then it just crumbles & creats a safety hazard. Surprised Amazon didn't step up to this problem and provide a free replacement including S&H. Rather than replacing the cable, I merely wrapped it with black electrical tape.

THE NEW USB CABLE I HAVE RECEIVED SEEMS FINE. BUT...... THE ONE THAT CAME WITH MY KINDLE SEEMED FINE TOO.

AFTER ABOUT A YEAR THE CASING ON THE WIREING STARTED TO FLAKE OFF. THE CORD WAS NEVER MISTREATED OR KEPT IN A PLACE THAT WAS OVERLY HOT OR COLD, ETC. BUT THERE I WAS WITH A PLUG, USB ADAPTER AND EXPOSED WIRE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE CORD TO THE ADAPTER THAT PLUGS INTO THE KINDLE.

I HAVE MANY ADAPTERS, CHARGERS ETC AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ANY OF THEM. IT IS CLEAR THAT THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THE KINDLE WAS DEFECTIVE. MY CONCERN NOW IS THAT IN A YEAR I WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NEW ONE YOU SENT ME.

THE WOMAN ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED SAID THAT SHE NEEDED TO MAKE IT CLEAR THIS WAS A ONE TIME REPLACEMENT SITUATION. SHE ALSO GAVE ME THE FEELING IT HAD HAPPENED TO OTHERS. IN MY MIND THIS TRANSLATES TO THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND YOU SHOULD BE REPLACING IT AS LONG AS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT.

THANK YOU FOR THE CHANCE TO EXPRESS MY CONCERNS.

Much faster then plugging into your computer and you don't have to have your computer with you!

This should have come with your Kindle 3G! However it does not for people purchasing the Kindle that live in Canada! Frustrating!!

The original power cord for my Kindle DX fell apart overnight. I was initially upset because I knew the purchase was over a year old and that I probably would not receive a replacement (for free). Boy was I wrong! I called the 1-800 # and the Kindle customer service was so friendly and helpful. In less than 5 minutes I had a credit issued on my Amazon account so that I could purchase a new power cord. Hopefully, the new cord was made in better quality, but if not I know I can depend on Amazon to help me out!

the casing enclosing the plug-in cord was made of inferior material and it failed. It chipped off like pieces of Chicklets....what a mess. However dealing with Amazon was pleasant and the problem was corrected on the spot and another cord was sent immediately. Very top notch customer service!!!! I will continue to buy from Amazon. Thanks you for paying attention to the details. Gina Brown'

Iphone 3g Accessories - iphone, mount

A few weeks ago I was looking for a mounting solution for my iPhone in my Dodge truck, and was intrigued by the description and reviews I saw of this one. A few days later, it arrived & I began experimenting with different ways to mount it. The more ways I tried, the more I realized how versatile of a mount this is. My mounting location of choice was the overhanging lip of the dashboard, above and to the right of the steering wheel. However, the dash is composed of sort of rippled, patterned plastic, and I seriously doubted that I could get any kind of suction cup mount to work.

Amazingly, the "Smart Pad" that comes with this mount solves this problem perfectly, although it is not very well described in the enclosed instructions. The Smart Pad is simply a tacky, very soft rubber-like disc, which is placed between a non-uniform mounting surface, and the suction cup mount. Somehow, by applying suction against it from the suction cup mount side, the soft surface against the non-uniform mounting surface conforms to that surface and maintains suction against it. Once I figured this out, I successfully managed to mount my iPhone just above and to the right of steering wheel. I set it up so that it was easily visible while driving, got good GPS reception through the windshield, and was easily touched from my right hand, even while holding on to the steering wheel.

But, how well would it hang on to the overhanging lip, and how long would it stay? The true test came right away: a drive from from Arizona to Alaska via the Alaska Highway - four days of normal road vibration, followed by about two days of rough roads with potholes, and frostheaves. The result: it didn't come off even once. I had to worry about mosquitoes, shifting trailer loads, and high gas prices. But never about my iPhone coming loose.

A couple of weeks later, it continues to hang on tightly. No longer do I have to fumble around with my iPhone to change songs, or try to wrestle it out from in between the seats, where it's slid into on a corner.

Overall, a convenient mounting option for the iPhone that is versatile, well-made, and easy to use. Satechi CR -3600 car holder mount for iPhone 4, 3G & 3Gs, BlackBerry Torch, HTC EVO, DROID, Samsung EPIC on Windshield and Dashboard

This product works great and holds on the dash nice and sturdy as I'm pressing the screen. One drawback is my wife's phone, which has a rubber case does not fit in this holder. I'm going to have to buy her another style that adapts to wider/taller sizes to include the case. I don't have a case, so this works great for me. I like that it is adjustable to direct the phone right toward me while driving. With it on the dash, my eyes are closer to the road, reducing my risk.

I was looking for a iPhone mount that was solid and would not vibrate so it could be used for data aq for running my car on the track and autocross. This mount is quite solid when mounted with lots of adjustment in every direction. My C5 Z06 has a very steep windshield and it has plenty of adjustment mounted in the center. Also mounts well in the corner near the A pillar in my truck.

Overall, very pleased, especially for the price!

David

Like other reviewers mentioned, this thing has a great build quality overall- very sturdy and solid. I installed it using a suction cup on the windshield about 2 weeks ago and despite the car being parked and driven under tropical sun, it still hasn't fallen off ! It really SUCKS (the only time when that's a good thing !)

It comes with 2 cradles- iPhone-specific and one generic for use with any GPS, phone, etc

Regrettably, the iPhone cradle can only be used without any skin/case on the iPhone (even the thinnest Incipio Feather case I'm using is too big to fit in the cradle). Removing the case from iPhone and putting it back every time I enter/leave the car seems rather impractical and will surely scratch up the iPhone, so might as well not use the case in the first place.

Instead, I'm using the generic cradle for the iPhone which works well, has a good grip and is easy to get the phone in and out. But (and here's a big BUT), the two supporting brackets on the bottom of the cradle prevent the charging cable to be used with the iPhone ! The workaround would be to fold these two brackets (i.e. not use them) and just handle the phone carefully when removing from the cradle (not to let it slip and fall).

Still, this is probably the best quality car holder available.

Note- Iphone cradle fits iPhone 3GS (which is what I have) well (without any case/skin obviously)

I purchased the Satechi SCR-31 Car Holder & Mount to use with my iPhone 4. I also have the Apple Bumper on my phone, so a mount that would accommodate a case was high on my priorities.

The Satechi case did not disappoint in any way. It opens large enough for any case to fit. The built is sturdy and the suction cup strong. I also like the Smart Pad that comes with it. It makes it possible to attach the holder to the dashboard, which is not possible with the suction cup on its own, due to the ripple texture of the dash board material.

It can also be rotated to Landscape Mode, which is not clearly visible from the descriptions and pictures.

I highly recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a decent car holder & mount.

I recently realized that the Navigon GPS Navigation on my iphone 3GS was actually better than the navigation software installed on my Jaguar X Type. Once, I upgraded to the iphone 4, the gap was even bigger! However, one challenge was to find a cradle that was non intrusive, high quality and fit the phone perfectly.

IF you don't use a case, this is about the most perfect you can get. The suction is just fantastic and it sticks really well on the glass. It holds the phone very well and I use it all the time! The case has never caused any scratch of any kind on my iphone 3gs or the new iphone 4. - Mount - Iphone - Iphone 4 - Ipod Car Mount'

Cordless Drill - 18v, 18 volt

One of the reasons I selected this combo set is because it didn't include the hammer drill. Almost every combo set DeWalt offers has a hammer drill included, and i don't need one.

Cordless dril is excellent. Battery life seems very good. The circular saw works well too. It will use a battery pretty fast compared to the drill. I suppose a sharp blade is mandatory. The reciprocating saw seems to work well but i haven't found a lot of uses for it yet. Haven't used the light at all. Maybe I will find a need for it.

Batteries charge in 1 hour or less. However, you can run one down in less than an hour with the circular saw if you are cutting a lot, better start with them both charged and keep them rotating or you will be shut down. It was nice that this set has two batteries included. DEWALT DC4CKITA 18 Volt Compact Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit

I bought this set when I moved into my house. I decided it was time to get a good set of tools for work around the house. This set has proven to have been a good investment time and time again.

-The drill is really the must have item in this set- it has enough power for just about anything you can throw at it with the 18 volt batteries. Additionally, the fact that the set comes with two batters is also a winner in my book- I can use the light and the drill at once, which is great when you are working under the sink or other dark tight spaces.

-The light is bright and the adjustable head is excellent when you don't have someone with you to give you a helping hand.

-The reciprocating saw doesn't come with blades, but since those are relatively inexpensive and you go through them so quickly, that can be excused. The reciprocating saw has been extremely useful for around the house projects. Again, the 18 volt batteries are a big selling point!

-Truth be told, I haven't used the trim saw yet. I am sure that I will have a use for it eventually, but I haven't done any big projects.

Overall- good set, I recommend it for anyone that has a lot of projects around the house!

This has got to be one of my best purchases on amazon , all the tools in the box work great ! Already did 3 projects in which the tools were worth the money I spend on them . Absolutely loved this purchase . I do wish it was easier to organize them into the box cause it is a bit annoying but once you get the hang of it you'll be able to take them out and put them back in with no problem . - Cordless Drill - 18v - Cordless Circular Saw - 18 Volt'

Plantar Fascitiis - plantar fasciitis, arch supports

I have a terribly painful foot and I haven't been able to go barefoot (with out orthotics in my shoes). This little arch support is just the ticket and I wear it all the time when I'm barefoot in the house. I'm very happy to have found it! It doesn't cost that much so give it a try. PolyGel Gel Arch Wrap

I've had plantar fasciitis for more than 2 years and have tried many different remedies and therapies. Icing several times a day is helping quite a bit, as do orthotics and night splints. Stretching and massage are no-brainers. Everyone's case can be different, but these gel arch wraps are definitely helping me and I will continue to use them, even along with orthotics.

I originally purchased medium for my Father who suffers from Plantar Fascitus but he complained they were too small. So I ordered two more in Large. He wore the mediums until the larges arrived although they were snug. He is very happy with wraps they relieive his arch pain while he works on his feet all day. Since my Father responded greatly to the comfort of the wraps, I also ordered a medium for my friend who works as a hair stylist. She is on her feet all day and had relief for the first time in years with the use of these wraps...Hopefully they hold up and the gel doesnt go flat. Only have had them for two weeks. I would reccommend this for others suffering in pain.

I have a fallen arch on one foot and this gel foot arch wrap was perfect because you can adjust the strap. The support is very comfortable and I wear it around the house and during sleep. What a difference it makes in the morning when I wake up with no pain and a little spring in my step!

Still gotta get use to this. This very pricey arch strap has gel cushioning that helps my flat foot but it keeps coming off when removing my shoes. It stays in the the shoe & maybe prone to losing them if not mindful of it. I've also noticed that the blue neoprene straps tends to bunch up while putting on my shoes. Had to read the reviews carefully that the price is for one & that I have to buy 2 of them for $26.

I have had severe plantar faciitis for 14 years. This product helps support the arch and reduces the pain. So instead of a 15 on a pain scale of 1-10...it brings it down to a 7. If I forget to wear it...I miss it. I am thinking of ordering another. Would recommend it...and I have tried everything!!!

All my life I have gone "barefoot" or socks only in my home. But with my low arches, and foot pain, it was becoming impractical. Now, I slip these over my socks, tighten them up, and ta da! No more foot pain! They are so soft I forget they are there. And there is also enough gel padding to really make a difference. Standing and walking are no problem anymore. Highly highly recommend this product to people with foot pain.

I thought I was buying a pair considering how expensive these things are, but that is my fault. However, this thing is terrible. It is very uncomfortable and the pad is way too thin for my high arches. - Foot Pain - Foot Pain Relief - Plantar Fasciitis - Arch Supports'
