Country Music

I like to search for new fresh music that I've never heard before, The free downloads from amazon is a great way to check stuff out without having to be slaves to the radio programming staff.

Cory's song (favorite kind of) Lonesome is a great fast paced country song that deserves country pop radio play, its as good or better than whats currently playing.

Highly recommend. Lonesome'

Military Science Fiction - western, dark comedy

When Little Big Man was first published during the 1960s it was the culmination and a spin-off from a series of events. Old men in geriatric homes throughout the US were claiming to be the 'real' John Wilkes Booth, Jesse James, Billy the Kid and other notorious figures in the history of the American west. Berger created a spin-off character, Jack Crabbe, who claimed to be none of these, but managed to be present for a surprising number of pivotal events of the 19th Century. He also claimed to know many of the characters involved, including Sitting Bull, Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp and his brothers, Bat Masterson, George Armstrong Custer and others.

In addition to being a great read and informative piece of historical fiction, this novel became a model for the anti-hero of a number of other historical fiction series and works. The most notable of these is the George MacDonald Frazer, Flashman books.

Berger has done a signal job of turning over the rocks of history, finding twists and turns normally not part of the legends, and weaving them into a character and plot unsurpassed in American historical fiction. Little Big Man

Like many others who reviewed this book, I first read it (in high school) after seeing the movie. The movie was a real eye opener for me, for the first time giving me a sense of Indians as real people, struggling to stay themselves and maintain their way of life against the relentless & overwhelming campaign of conquest, destruction & genocide by Whites. It inspired me to read this book, which I found to far surpass in richness, character development and detail what I had thought to be an excellent movie. After reading it the first time I think I read it annually for the next ten years, and several more times since. Each time it has moved me to laughter, anger, and without fail tears at the end. I can't begin to do it justice, even trying gives me "...a pain between my ears..." and some of the reader reviews have already done a fine job of describing it. There's just a couple of points I'd like to add. Jack Crabb has always reminded me Huckleberry Finn. Through close personnal experience, each character evolves in his understanding and appreciation of a race he'd been raised to believe inherently inferior to whites (Jack Crabb's rearing by Indians does not begin till his tenth year). Niether Jack nor Huck are saints who always "knew better". Along the way, both struggle with feelings of doubt, guilt & shame when they find themslves favoring the Indians or Blacks over Whites. Both think badly of themselves for doing so. Like Mark Twain, Thomas Berger puts us into the head of a White male who struggles with the conflict between his own experience and the stereotypes he'd been raised on and which shape the White society of his time. Both books are marvels of insight into human nature. "Little Big Man" goes further in brighing alive actual historical events Jack experiences first hand. Read the history book by Dee Brown, "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" to afirm how well Thomas Berger captured and related such notorius events as the Washita massacre and the Battle at the Little Big Horn. My other point to new readers is to be sure and read the Forward, which is actually part of the novel and provides valuable background and insight into Jack's character and wisdom. Enjoy.

Long before Micheal Blake's politically correct tome "Dances With Wolves" gave voice to other side of the American West, Thomas Berger wrote the expertly crafted, humourous, tragic and down right entertaining "Little Big Man". Written in 1965, when it was still fashionable to portray the Native American as a "in the way savage", Berger deftly blended the genres of tall tale and history in a manner that really has yet to be matched. The character of Jack Crabb is cut of classic cloth. His story may very well be pure hogwash, but it is filled with touching humanity that underpins all the comedy. Berger portrays The Cheyenne people, or the "Human Beings" as possessing many of the same foibles and warts as their European counterparts. They are not painted as noble savages as in Blake's new agey work, but rather as complex characters deserving of respect and honor.Berger's General Custer is a wry study of madness that somehow avoids cynicism. One of this book's many virtues lies in its ability to lend the Western myth a critical eye, while avoiding the nihilistic pessimism that frequently goes hand in hand with such work (something the film version couldn't avoid)."Little Big Man" is a must read to all who love good yarns spun with a big heart and a bigger mind.

After becoming mildly obsessed with the film version, I had to read the book and so glad I did. There are some startling and wonderful differences between the versions - the book triumphs. Berger's writing style brilliantly aids the imagination in creating a breathtaking backdrop. The dialog evokes gut-busting laughter and the most sincere sobs. The detailing of each character and setting leaves the reader truly wondering if this is an actual biography or fiction work. Jack Crabb, his fellow "Human Beings", his adopted white family, his long-lost niece, his white wife, his Cheyenne wife, become nearly touchable and all are loveable. Life is short, money is as scarce as spare time. This book and the time it will take to read it are surely worth the expenditure. So treat yourself to this classic.

I was pretty much hooked by the narrator's first words: "I'm a white man and never forget it" (followed by "but I was brought up by Cheyenne from the age of ten"). A few paragraphs later: "I never suspected it at the time, being just a young boy, but I realize now that my Pa was a lunatic," and I was a complete goner.

Little Big Man is an extremely humorous novel of the American west, wonderfully narrated in a breezy, informal style, peppered with humorous colloquialisms and directness, reminiscent of Huckleberry Finn, by the 111 year old Jack Crabb, a (so he claims) surviver (and the sole survivor) of Custer's last stand.

But it's also touching and heartbreaking at times, and with tension as he rides with Custer to the Little Big Horn.

As Crabb recounts his life, moving between the white man's world and that of the Indians, stopping at many stations along the way in the kaleidescopic West, we are often given a detailed pictured of what various aspects of life were like back then. From what it's like eating dog in the tepee to Hickcock's advice on gunfighting, to the traveling snake oil salesman and his occupational risks.

In this way also it's much like the Last of the Mohicans, giving an inside view, hopefully a researched, accurate one, of the frontier to those of us safely and comfortably ensconced at home in greater civilization.

Definitely high in the echelon of American novels I've read. - Native American - Western - Dark Comedy - Cult Western'

Kid Friendly - earth friendly, cleaner

I steam clean our carpets about twice a year, and have been looking for a truly non-toxic product for this purpose. After a [..] search, this company came up, and I found out their products were on sale at my local supermarket chain. I used this product in our Hoover steam vac, and the carpets came out just as clean (if not better) than Hoover's chemical laden cleaners, and actually smelling much nicer probably due to the chamomile, bergamot, and sage ingredients. It gives me peace of mind and satisfaction to know that my 'special needs' 4 year old can play in her room without the concern and worry that an unhealthy, toxic chemical cleaner brings about. I will be using this carpet shampoo on a regular basis now. Mega kudos to the 'Earth Friendly Products' company for offering this godsend of a carpet cleaner! Earth Friendly Products Carpet Shampoo, Concentrated with Bergamot & Sage, 40 Ounces (Pack of 8)

I love this product. Having children that crawl and play on the floor it's nice to feel that you are not exposing them to abrasive cleaners with bad chemicals.

I have not noticed any difference in performance between this and the hoover carpet shampoos. Before starting up the steam cleaner, I do recommend mixing a stronger solution in a glass and apply it as a spot treatment with a dish washing brush. Makes the process faster and easier.

I purchased this product because my old Australian Shepherd was noticibly sensitive to the product that goes with the famous rental brand of carpet shampooer. When we moved I noticed that the redness on her tummy and the incessant scratching had stopped. I decided that when we shampooed the new carpets I would use a hypo-allergenic product. This one filled the ticket. I purchased an inexpensive carpet shampooer and a case of Earth Friendly carpet shampoo. It is economical; got the carpets as clean as any product does; smells pleasant and doesn't irritate the dog. She has gone from 6 benadryl capsuls a day to none. The dog and I are happy.

Well between my Hoover Clean Surge and this product. I can say that my ugly PINK carpet is now clean ugly PINK carpet. It got blueberry (the stain was over a year old) , mud, marker, high traffic areas and oil e.t.c. The scent is great like a lemon/lavender and it's non toxic. So the 4 pets 4 kids and two adults don't have to die trying to have a clean floor. This is great. Most all natural things you have to settle for less quality than the chemical type. I am happy to say in this case the quality is on par with the rest. My one and only gripe is the amount per gallon that you have to use. On the directions it says use 2.5 ounces per gallon... but it also says follow the amount that your cleaner says use. At 5 ounces a gallon, you go through this stuff pretty quick in my Hoover. It two bottles to do 700 sq ft or so. If they feel it takes 2.5 ou per gallon they should stick to their product recommendations. After all they know their cleaner better than Hoover. Anyway this stuff is great!

Lame attempt at humor with this review's title aside... The product works very well.

I highly suggest diluting it slightly if you're using a Hoover MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner (or similar machine) that self-mixes the product for you as the machine seems to have a difficult time with the consistency of the product. It is a little thicker and clumpier than the cleaning product Hoover provides.

The scent is not overpowering, it doesn't create lots of suds or foam, and it rinses clean.

I wish it came in a smaller pack. At the time of this review, you could only purchase 8 at a time. This quantity will probably outlast the Hoover.

I hate using chemicals and have recently switched to chemical-free vapor steam cleaning, but I do like having my rug doctor on hand for shampooing the carpets. From the day I bought the machine I've used this Earth Friendly Products carpet shampoo only - never theirs or any other harsh junk. It doesn't have any of the foaming problems I've heard about with other soaps in the rug doctors. For this stuff I throw two gallons of hot tap water in a bucket and a quarter cup (2oz) of the Earth Friendly carpet shampoo and pour it into the tank and it's a perfect ratio to get the carpets super clean very quickly. The scent is very subtle and is gone by the time it dries (which I like). I do not know if you would need to up the ratio of soap to water with another machine, the rug doc is pretty heavy duty so not a lot is needed and makes the bottle of shampoo last long. In fact I suspect I could get away with 1 oz of shampoo to 2 gallons of water, but it's not expensive so I go the extra mile (or ounce in this case). It gets almost everything out but there are a few old stains (and I mean OLD) that remained that I had to use a vapor steamer to blast away, but I suspect a nontoxic pretreater like Folex or the like would resolve that issue. All in all a good purchase - works just as well if not better than the harsh chemical laden shampoos without poisoning pets/kids/environment.

We have always had an indoor dog, so I have been steam cleaning our carpets every 2-3 months since we built this house 15 years ago. I was concerned about the chemical residues left behind with the standard shampoos I always used, particularly after reading an article about the ill effects carpet solutions have on children. So, I was thrilled to find this product. We just got it in yesterday and I didn't waste any time getting our Hoover machine out. I cleaned the entire house and it worked great! I wondered if such a gentle product could handle a few recent stains on the carpet and they are all history. We had been using the Hoover shampoos that are recommended for the machine. I think this product is at least as good, if not better, in its cleaning ability. It also smells wonderful. Finally, the fact that the company does not do animal testing makes me certain that I will continue to buy this product.

By the way, the reason I found this product was because I had recently started using the same company's HE laundry detergent (Ecos). It is also a great product. - Kid Friendly - Cleaner - Earth Friendly - Carpet'

Mobile One - lubricants, full synthetic

This is the best oil out there for the regular driver who wants maximum protection for the car's engine. A little research brought me to the Mobil 1 Extended Performance line of Synthetic oils when searching for a product that could allow me more time between oil changes. Mobil 1 EP allows a 15,000 mile/1 year guaranteed life of the product. I have been using this in combination with their Mobil 1 filters for years. The cost is higher, but I only need to change the oil once a year!

Originally developed for aerospace, synthetic oils became commercially available in the 1960's. Some technical advantages Synthetic Oil has over Conventional Oil are [from Wikipedia]:

- Measurably better low and high temperature viscosity performance

- Better chemical & shear stability

- Decreased evaporative loss

- Resistance to oxidation, thermal breakdown and oil sludge problems

- Extended drain intervals with the environmental benefit of less oil waste.

- Improved fuel economy in certain engine configurations.

- Better lubrication on cold starts

By using a Synthetic oil not only will your engine be able to perform better, but it can also extend the engine life. I HIGHLY recommend use for those with more severe or high demand driving conditions. Mobil 1 44976 Extended Performance 5W-30 Motor Oil - 1 Quart, Pack of 6

From having worked in the petroleum industry test industry, I learned from our customers that Mobil 1 has been the pioneer and the performance benchmark for synthetic lubricants.

From personal experience, I have used this product in my vehicles, both classic and contemporary, for more than fifteen years or easily 2 million miles without an engine failure.

Amazon is my source for buying so many things, and I am a satisfied user, but we do still need to check locally. Mobil 1 oil is on a promotional sale at Advance Auto -5qts plus free Mobil 1 filter($10)for $30. Of course, it's an excellent oil with the EP version permitting 15,000 miles or 1 yr(I wouldn't really go that far myself)between changes. It can be economical to use since less oil changes can more than make up for the additional cost of this synthetic oil.

I have been using Mobile 1 Extended Performance 5w-30 in both my BMW and my Toyota for the last several years. Mobile 1 is recommended and original equipment in my BMW and has been great in the Toyota. I only drive each vehicle about 7-8k miles per year, but have had no problems going 12 months before changing. I also like the fact that less frequent oil changes are better for the environment. The extra cost of full synthetic oil is well worth it.

I've used Extended Performance for over 2 years in a truck and a car. It works great and we haven't had any oil related issues with either vehicle. It really will run 15,000 miles clean. Make sure to get a good oil filter.

My father was a Mobil dealer for over 40 years, and I began using Mobil 1 oil when it first came out. He was also an excellent mechanic, and he taught me the trick to getting the most out of your synthetic oil...

Continue to change your OIL FILTER at 6,000 mile intervals. Keep a quart handy to top off after the filter change. No exaggeration: my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT went 20,000 miles between Mobil 1 changes. I drove that car vigorously. In that time, only 2 filter changes and 1 quart added (the Eclipse uses a small filter).

My 06 Ram requires an oil change every 3500 miles like clockwork. Delay, and I start hearing the lifters tick. Next change will be Mobil 1, which I have hesitated on because 7 quarts of the stuff is pricey, and my father is no longer around to discount me.

If you live in northern US or Canada, consider the 0W-40 formula.

Another piece of advice. Do not store this oil for long periods of time in a location that is subject to sub-freezing temperatures. It will eventually separate, and you will find a white sludge at the bottom of your quart.

Believe the hype. Mobil 1 exceeds its advertising if properly used.

I ordered this Oil and a Purolator PL20195 PureONE Oil Filter, Pack of 1 from Amazon on August 12. It was estimated to be delivered on August 16.It is now September 2nd and I still have not received the package. The UPS web site says a shipping label was created and they are waiting for the package. I could not find a way to contact amazon so I am leaving this review so someone at amazon will contact me and resolve this problem.

Prelude

Before late February, I didn't know anything about MEElectronics. When I finally heard about the company and purchased my M9Ps, I realized that they were a company that I should keep my eye on. In the time since, I've had the chance to review their lower end IEM models, the SX-31 and M2s and I've been impressed by the both of them, in different ways. Now, I'm here with a review of the first generation M6 models, one of MEElectronics' higher end IEMs. These apparently share the same drivers as the M9s and M9Ps and if that's true, then I should be in for a pleasant experience. So, did the M6 IEMs live up to my expectations? Read on to find out.

Packaging and Accessories

The first generation M6s ship in a black paper box that shows off the IEMs themselves through a transparent plastic window on the front. In terms of accessories, the M6s include an accessory pack that's incredibly similar to that shipped with the M9Ps, which is a very good thing. Inside the box, you'll find a clamshell hard case, three pairs of silicone single flange eartips, a pair of generic black foam tips (similar to Shure "olives"), an airplane adapter and a cable winder.

Design and Build Quality

The M6s are made of plastic that feels rather durable. The cable is somewhat thick and rubbery feeling but doesn't feel as though it would cause problems if not abused routinely. Inside the cable that leads out of the earpieces, there is a built in memory wire which helps route the cable over one's ears and stay in place once the earpieces have been inserted. I've heard complaints that the wire is too stiff but it was relatively soft and pliable in my experience. The cable terminates in a heat-shrink covered gold-plated straight plug and doesn't inspire confidence because of its lack of a proper strain relief.

It's worth noting that the newer and more expensive M6s are equipped with a much better cable that features a properly relieved L-plug.

Comfort and Fit

Getting these fitted can be a bit of a pain sometimes because of their over the ear design and the memory wire that's embedded within the cable near the earpieces themselves. The memory wire is soft and pliable but because of it being there, these aren't well suited to situations in which you'll constantly be taking them out of your ears. Once they are in your ears, they disappear. Using the included foam tips or Sony hybrids, I was able to get an effortless and comfortable seal. The earpieces sit flush with your ears and I found that it was easy to lie down on my side with my head against a pillow without sacrificing comfort. These are easily some of the most comfortable IEMs I've used. Isolation is rather decent as well with the right eartips but it's nothing spectacular.

Sound Quality

Burn in: As per my usual, these IEMs were given 25+ hours of burn in prior to review.

Once again, MEElectronics has managed to impress me and even straight out of the box, I was enjoying the M6s. I will say that they sounded a bit hollow straight out of the box but after burning in for a few hours, it filled in nicely. In terms of bass, the low end is smooth, detailed and refined. That's a lot of adjectives but they all apply in some way, some more so than others. It's certainly a highlight of the presentation with more than enough boom and punch to make Hip-Hop and Electronic music stand out. That's not to say the bass is boomy, far from it. Bass is well controlled and doesn't overwhelm the rest of sound signature and rarely creeps up on the lower mids. The low end lacks the speed and extension of my RE0s but is certainly better in terms of quantity.

Mids are smooth and full sounding, if recessed slightly. The detail and clarity in the midrange is impressive for the price with full bodied and natural vocals and a nice sense of space and airiness. Treble is slightly emphasized as well, like the bass, and treble extension and detail are both quite good for IEMs in this price range. It's worth noting as well that these boast marginally smoother and better refined highs than the M9s but slight harshness and sibilance can be heard on some higher notes.

The sound signature is warm, full, and smooth with a very nice and dynamic tonal balance throughout the sonic spectrum. The soundstage is nearly as large as that of the M9s but not quite as airy and positioning and separation are both very good for the price. These work incredibly well with a wide range of genres, including the aforementioned Hip-Hop and Electronic and also Jazz, Classical and Alternative/Rock. While these can't match my RE0s in terms of overall quality, transparency and clarity, especially when it comes to the quality of the treble and neutrality, the M6s are very impressive in their own right, especially when you consider how inexpensive they are.

Value and Conclusion

The maroon versions of the M6s are available for $30 on MEElectronics' website. The current generation model retails for $50 on the website but can be found for approximately $40 on websites such as Amazon and Overstock. At $30 for the first generation M6s, they are an absolute steal and you wouldn't be remiss in buying the more expensive versions for the improvements to the build quality either. Despite apparently sharing the same drivers as the M9s, they are definitely superior in every way besides airiness. The M6s deliver one of the most entertaining sound signatures I've heard in a while and are easily the most competent performers that I've heard in the sub $50 price range and even outside of that range, these perform well enough to be worth a look. winches - winches

This winch rocks. I bought it to use on a flat deck car trailer for a race car. It has plenty of power and the best thing is the 30' long wired remote. The Warn 3700 winch I almost bought instead had a much shorter remote control cable. With the Superwinch's 30' remote control, I can stand next to the car and steer it while winching it onto the trailer rather than having to put down the remote and walk back to the car and adjust the steering wheel and then walk back to use the remote. Superwinch 1440200 S4000 Series Master Winch

This winch works great. I use it in my trailer to pull in my 2800lb race car. It never hesitates. The only thing I wish was that the hand controller was another 6 to 8 foot longer. I have the winch in the front of my 26ft trailer and the controller is just not quite long enough to run the wheel and pull the winch at the same time.....But they do send a nice wireless setup that i plan on buying.

I got the S4000 for my enclosed trailer for my off-road car. Its a light car under 3000 Lbs, but the trailer ramp door is fairly steep and Sand Paddle tires give it significant rolling resistance. The S4000 is great to use and 30' remote is a time save, and like the winch is well built.

This is not my first winch. I had a couple others in other trailers. I was never happy with any others. It could be because they were China built, or just poor quality even though they were not cheap. The pull rating even though it was higher or equal to the S4000 was no where close in the real world.

The S4000 also sounds like a quality piece when its winding in rather than shaking a coffee can of nuts and bolts like the cheap winches.

What would I change? It should come with Synthetic rope being a trailer winch as the price of winch rope has come down so much (other than Superwinch and Warn). I am going to upgrade to rope as soon as I can.

Overall its a very winch at a good but not cheap price. Did I mention its USA made? I called the company and checked before I ordered it. By the way they were great on the phone and gave me good advice on mounting and Battery hook up. I asked about replacement and spare parts - no problem there either which can be a big problem with cheaper winches.

It also looks great in the trailer and the design makes it easy to clean!

It does not pull its rated load. Its been four months and it still works, but if you are searching for a specific load calculate about half of what they claim. This unit is more designed for pulling a small 3000 lb car rolling in neutral up a low ramp. If you need more than that go elsewhere - Winches'

Classic Handheld Games - gift idea, games

My mom is older, spends a lot of time in bed, reading or bored, and I thought she might like to try something new. Within the month or so since she's had it, her prowess at the games has gotten really impressive; she likes the fact that it challenges her and she feels it's very rewarding to get a perfect score. The controls are easy to use and the screen and letters are big enough for someone without perfect eyesight to see. I think she's addicted to it, so I'm definitely satisfied. Radica Brain Games

Granpa sent this to my 6yr old from australia even before it arrived in the US market. It seemed a bit of a challenge for a 6yr old but gradually he learned. For a few months he put it away and now that he is almost 7 he enjoys playing with it. It is highly educational without a doubt. We play WORD HUNT with the whole family.

The cons of this game is that some of the words on word hunt that we have come across are 'Vagina' and 'Porno' which I am quite certain should not be on a game that is recommended for kids. So adult supervision is a definite must.

My child loves the 20Q product made by this company but this one has disappointed us. My 9 year old gave up on this quickly because the simplest level 1 speed was too fast and frustrated her quickly. It's definitely aimed at adults. I was looking for activities for my children; i.e. hangman, math facts, recall. I took a risk on this item based on its very vague description here at amazon. I couldn't find detailed info about it anywhere on the web, nor did I find the product in any stores. It's not what I was hoping it would be. This is our second electronic toy disappointment this Christmas morning. Now I wonder what the return policy is for products which must be forcibly extracted with a utility knife from their plastic package before you can actually find out what they are!

I purchased this to help keep my memory sharp. While the overall game is challenging enough there are 2 features Radica needs to change. There is this annoying little professor guy that is in one of the games and pops up at the end of each round to tell you how you did. Also, they advertised that the screen font is large and it is, but there is a line of numbers on the key board that are used for one of the games and these are way too small and the key board itself is awkward. I would probably rate this 5 stars except for these 2 features.

I needed to get a gift for an adult Yankee Swap at Christmas. Hello Amazon!!! It turned out that my daughter ended up with this Brain game. She absolutely LOVES it. It travels everywhere with her. Great while waiting for the kids to get out of school. She still has more to learn about it, but said it is the greatest mind game. Extremely stimulating! So glad we made the choice of purchasing this game. Now I need one! Highly recommend this. The only thing is, that it should be labled for adults as some of the content is adult like.

I originally picked this hand-held up for a cross-country road trip to keep me occupied. Beyond keeping me busy on the trip, I now leave this handheld toilet-side. If you're a toilet book-reader like I am who feels there is an importance in maintaining a stimulated mind and pushing the envelope of what you are capable of both physically and mentally, grab it. Essentially, it's a simplified version of Brain Age for the Nintendo DS, but it will still help sharpen your mind and wake you up in the morning. A great change-up from reading. You will see results in cognitive speed and recollection if you use this just for five minutes a day.

Batteries lasted about 2+ years, but the display is suffering artifacts likely due to a few falls coupled with bathroom moisture and humidity.

This game is pretty lame. I did not even have to open the package and read the instructions to determine that it is oudated and boring. The graphics look like old Tetris or something. Plus, the unit had obviously been sitting in a warehouse for quite some time and it did not seem to work properly. I promptly returned it for a refund. - Games - Brain Age - Gift Idea - Brain Games'

Laptop Screen Cleaner - laptop, cleaning kit

This product leaves a clean streak-free screen (I tried on three laptop LCD screens - one of them is ultra-bright type). It is better than I expected. And the two bottles will probably last forever, since you don't need much for each use (not sure about how long it is valid -- there is no validity date). Monster AI ICLN-S iClean+ ScreenClean

My company recently bought us all toughbooks for use in the field and provided us with boxes of self moistened computer wipes (two different brands thant I don't remember the names of them) and yhey were horrible. Poor cleaning and left streaks. So when I went to look for a product for my home computers and flatscreen HDTV I figured I'd give the Monster product a try. Well, my compnay now uses this product after showing it to our IT geek.

This product is awesome. My only complaint is I wish they provided another micro fiber cloth with it. It leaves no streaks and yes it will clean dry snot off your screen (my three year old still forgets to cover her face when she sneezes) as well as fingerprints (again she loves to touch the screens on both my computer and flatscreen.

Excellent product.5 stars.

I've used a lot of different screen cleaners. Most are mediocre at best. The Monster product is superior to any of the others. It cleans quickly and thoroughly. Although it's a little pricey, once you try it, I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

The Monster AI ICLN-S iClean+ ScreenClean cleans the screen well, but inevitably leaves behind streaks. No matter how hard I try, I cannot use it on my computer display or HDTV without leaving streaks. I don't plan on purchasing this product again.

Just got the iClean and associated Screen Cleaner cloth today, and I have to say I'm very happy with the results. I've used the product on my MacBook screen and the LCD looks as good as the day I got it after a single cycle of spraying and wiping.

Something of note: iClean is more akin to a polish than it is to a cleaning product like Windex, meaning it uses a waxy substance to smooth over and chips or scratches in your screen. Keeping this in mind, make sure to spray iClean on evenly and rub the solution into your screen until it's dried up (takes about one or two minutes). The results are impressive.

Hi All,

I have to say... I've been in search for an LCD screener now for some time. And without a doubt, this is worth every single penny!

The spray goes on extremely easily - just shoot one pump on a larger LCD or on the cloth included and go to work. The cloth included works wonders. It just lifts and surface material right off and the liquid does not run down your screen if you spray it. It stays right in place.

The product also notes that it does contain "a special polymer to protect your screen while reducing static electricity that attracts dust." I have to say, it definitely reduces dust a lot. I don't have to dust nearly as much.

I use this product at home and in an office environment and have provided it to the rest of my employees and it has received much praise from 10+ people at the office.

Lastly, while this is on the higher side for a screen cleaner, it's worth every penny. You can easily clean your screen with minimal liquid. And it does the job perfect, the first time!

I got this Item because of the reviews in here, used it on my Samsug HD220 3 to 4 times, and it leaves some marks on my screen, if you look from side. Next cleaner I will get from store. Very Expensive Item too, for what it does. Turn the Monitor on and you wont see the marks any more, till it's off. This Item completely evaporates but you still can see it on screen after use. Maybe it just for my Monitor?

This product works well but seems overpriced. Monster iClean+ seems to function identically to CleanDr LCD/Plasma Screen Cleaner, but the CleanDr product includes 8oz of cleaning fluid (versus Monster's two 1.52oz bottles), a larger micro-fiber cloth, and costs less to boot! iClean+'s small cleaning cloth is fine for laptop displays and desktop LCD monitors, but becomes a liability if you want to clean a large LCD TV like I did. Granted, this product is designed as a "travel size" kit and it works much for that use than the bulky 8oz CleanDr cleaner. Both products require a bit of effort if you want to achieve a streak-free cleaning, but (eventually) lead to a sparkling streak-free display.

Not only did this product not leave a single streak on my glossy MacBook Pro screen, but it did a perfect job cleaning something I was worried I'd never clean off: tree sap. I bought this after stupidly sitting under a pine tree while working on my laptop, and it was covered with tiny little drops of sap. After one cleaning, the screen was indistinguishable from new.

One tip: if you spray too much it will saturate the cloth and you'll have a tough time getting the streaks to come out. But rest assured, when you wipe all the gel off, it is truly streak free. Three or four sprays is all it takes to do the entire screen, so just don't overdo it and you'll likely be very pleased with this.

UPDATE: I actually understand what the (few) negative reviewers are talking about. After using this for a week, the product DOES leave a residue. It's not permanent (i.e. you can wipe it off) and you only notice it on glossy screens in direct sunlight, but it's there. I believe this is the polymer coating they are talking about. It basically reflects, and so it's a bit noticeable against an antireflective-coated glossy screen. Again, it's not permantent but it does really hinder the display visibility in bright lighting. - Screen - Cleaning Kit - Laptop - Cleaner'

Back Pain Relief - body ball, birth ball

There's nothing magical about this piece of equipment- its a big, sturdy rubber ball, and what you see in the picture is exactly what you get. So why would you even want to bother messing with it?

Well, despite its simplicity, its a really FUN piece of exercise equipment and an absolutely GREAT way to change things up. For instance, if you're tired of doing sit-ups on the floor, well, try them on the ball (you'll see what I mean when you do). If you're tired of doing push-ups on the floor, just try them with your feet on the ball- then see how many push-ups you can do!

But be careful and use your judgement. While there's a lot of stuff you can do with this big ball, you COULD also get hurt if you're clowning around or trying something you're simply not in shape to do yet. Know that this ball comes with an exercise sheet that give you suggestions for doing different exercises.

All-in-all, though, its especially nice for a change of pace or for an added challenge. Additionally, many therapists use this ball for rehabilitation purposes, particularly back rehab, so there's really a lot you can do with it. If nothing else, pull it out after a long day at the office and stretch your back out over it- wow- does that ever feel good! Those who suffer with back pain might also be interested in Treat Your Own Spinal Stenosis. Have fun! Valeo Body Ball (65 cm)

Product:

After much research, I figured out that this ball is suitable for my height. The ball is blue and shiny as it shows in the picture. The ball comes with a small pump which is not a cycle pump, but a simple small accordian style pump that you can put between your hands like a sandwich and press. The initial inflation takes long time though and it can get tiring. I tried the pump with my foot, and it worked too, so overall not much to complain about the pump.

The ball came with a measuring tape and instructions. THe instructions are not the best I have seen but do a decent job. I took one star off because the ball came with a wrong size measuring tape. The instructions state that the measuring tape must be the same color as the ball, and it was not. I even measured it after inflating the ball, and it was apparent that the tape was for a 75 cm ball. In case you are wondering, the tape is to be put around the ball and serves as a device to avoid over inflation and bursting the ball. I have been using guesswork to inflate the ball.

I do feel that this ball is slightly smaller than 65cm, but because I do not have the correct measuring tape, I might not be inflating it as much.

In general, I like the ball and it appears to be of good quality. I wish they had other colors for this size, but apparently I could not find a different color for 65cm that was made by Valeo.

Amazon specific:

I got this ball from Amazon with prime shipping. The item arrived promptly and was packaged nicely. Good job Amazon.

This ball is exactly what to be suspected. It is easy to use and the exercise poster that comes with it is convenient. It easily held my weight. It smelled a tiny bit coming out of the bag but the smell went away quickly.

I would buy one again.

I purchased three (3) of the 65 cm stability balls for circuit training boot camps I run. When they arrived and I blew them up, each of the three balls were a different size. I blew all of them up the most I could and undoubtedly they are all different sizes. I did not want to hassle with returning them, so I make due, but in the future I will not buy this brand for my fitness studio due to the inconsistencies.

This is the 2nd ball I've purchased through Amazon that came mislabeled as 65cm. The first was the TKO (which, by the way, is much better quality than the Valeo). I ordered 65cm and both balls, despite what the boxes said, were only 55cm. I already have a 55cm ball (which is correctly labeled BTW and which I did measure to make sure that it really is 55cm). I'm starting to think it is impossible to get a 65cm from Amazon!

Seems to be a trend that they are shipping the wrong size ball. The box correctly said 65cm but after trying to blow this up for 20 minutes I realized I could not get it any larger and the measuring tape was off by many inches. The ball diameter is for 55cm. The tape seemed to be the right size for a 65cm ball though.

I'm sending back for another try. If things work out I'll update my review based on the ball itself and not the shipping (Or packaging) mistakes.

I could barely stand to blow up the ball without opening the window. All parts (ball, pump, and measuring tape) smelled of cheap plastic. I washed it in the shower with soap and water to try to get the smell off, but it didn't help. I'm leaving the window open for another 24 hours to continue to let it air out before I spend much time around it. (I don't think that vinyl smell is healthy.) The plastic also feels thinner than the previous exercise balls I've had in the past. It was the cheapest ball of that size on Amazon, and I guess I got what I paid for. I'd rather have spent twice as much had I known that it would be made of such cheap materials. - Exercise - Body Ball - Birth Ball - Stability Ball'

Electronic Learning Toys - educational game, leapfrog

Wow.... I am amazed.. I bought this for[...]buck expecting it to just be a camera/video camera with very limited educational value. What it DOES have is a very cool alphabet "game" that you can customize to have your picture in the spaceship to shoot the letters it tells to shoot. (There is also a math game as well) It also records sound bytes and fairly good video (for $25!) What my 4 year old loves the most is making a "story book" with his own sound effects as the story goes on. There's also the ability to edit pictures with silly stamps, stretching and kaleidescope. (other things it does is make music videos, greeting cards, and it holds all the pictures in an "album"... it says it can hold 1000 pictures.. (I'm sure that's not if you had any videos recorded)

All in all, this is probably the best $25 I've spent in a LONG LONG time... LeapFrog Leapster Explorer Camera and Video Recorder - Leapster - Leapfrog - Electronic Learning Toys - Educational Game'

Definitive 200 - led zeppelin, hard rock

This album is a prime example of why Bonham, Jones, Page, & Plant are legends in the Rock & Roll industry. It has everything a R & R fan could possibly want. A bluesy feel, tight Guitar riffs, solos from the soul, well constructed songs, layers of music, & passionate vocals. For me the true cohesion comes from the rythym section. Bonham's drums drives the band ever forward while JPJones is ethereal on the keyboards & perfect on the bass Guitar. There are no duds on this their Sophmore album.

These are my seven favorites in no particular order. "Heartbreaker," opens with a classic riff. The midsection flows to an improvisational section with a fine Guitar solo. Here the lyrics & music blend easily. I have always liked this one more than the more publized "Whole Lotta Love." "Moby Dick," is a fine instrumental with Bonham's drum midsection carrying it. "Living Loving Maid," is often paired in direct succession with "Heartbreaker." It's an upbeat rocker with a memorable riff & a contagious melody. "The Lemon Song," has one great bass line as JPJones moves smoothly throughout as the crescendo than picks up & takes flight. "What Is And What Should Never Be," is a very different type of song that is hard to classify. I have been told by musicians that this is one of the harder Zeppelin songs to learn. Here the interesting lyrics play as a melodic counterpoint to Plant's vocals. "Ramble On," is the driving other side of the latter song representing moving on from the angst of love. This is one of the most underated of Led Zeppelin's songs. "Thank You," clearly is the bands best ballad until "In Through The Outdoor's All My Love." This one is smooth & brings out the romantic in the listener. This is one of their three best albums. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. Led Zeppelin II

After toiling the summer of my 14th year, I finally saved enough money to buy my first turntable (an $88 Pioneer which, I am pleased to say, I still own and, 23 years later, it runs like a champ). Soon thereafter, I began assembling my record collection. Led Zeppelin II was my first purchase. Over time, I bought all the Led Zep albums, and listened to them all until the vinyl was pretty well worn out. However, Led Zep II always remained my favorite Led Zep album. Special memories of Led Zep II include the time that I invited a special young lady over to my house and, to impress her (dumb, I know), I cranked up Whole Lotta Love for the guitar jam following the relatively quiet stuff with the violin bows, only to have most of the speaker componentry of my father's hand built Heathkit speakers explode into a useless, spasmodic pile of writhing, twitching cardboard-like material and coils. It took me about four months to save enough pesos to buy a new pair of speakers.Anyway, on to something Amazon readers might find useful:Led Zep II is a classic rock and roll album, but what makes it particularly good is the way each song works so well with the songs around it. I've noticed other reviewers have made similar comments. You could not pull this material and drop it into a "Greatest Hits" album and have it work. Imagine going from Whole Lotta Love, straight into Stairway to Heaven! No way! Another key is to have the right stereo equipment. It is my opinion that stereo equipment is designed to complement the music of the day. Hence, one would be best served to find a vintage amplifier or receiver to play this music. You don't want some amplifier-on-a-chip setup. Also, milquetoast speakers are out. A simple rule of thumb is, if you can lift your speakers, they are insufficient for this album. One negative, the sound quality on Led Zep II is pretty poor. Not as dreadful as on Led Zep I, but not up to today's standards. Of course, Michelangelo's cracked and faded painting of the Sistine Chapel doesn't exactly exhibit the highest "signal-to-noise" ratio ever, but it's still a classic. The reason why I bring this up is because I just bought the "digitally remastered" CD to replace my older "original CD" version of Led Zep II. In doing side by side comparisons, the improvement in sound quality is remarkable. Particularly in the quiet parts of Moby Dick, the background hiss of the older CD is much more apparent than in the new. Hiss is still there, but much less noticeable. For purists, the new mixing does not eradicate the rawness of the original. Bottom line: if you own Led Zep II, but in the older CD version or, God forbid, on vinyl, you owe it to yourself to upgrade. It's worth the money. Finally, the obligatory ranking of my favorite Led Zep albums in order: II, I, IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti. As I mature and mellow (or more accurately, get older), I like III much more.

After their ground breaking debut album, Led Zeppelin quickly followed the album up with Led Zeppelin II. Whereas their debut contained a few blues covers and longer jams, II is a much tighter affair. Jimmy Page was a master at coming up with memorable guitar riffs and they abound throughout II. "Whole Lotta Love" opens the album with a earth moving riff and then guitars soar and come crashing down throughout the song that is marked by a glass shattering vocal from Robert Plant. The song became a big hit and their only top ten single peaking at number 4 in early 1970. "The Lemon Song" is a bluesy jam that finds Mr. Plant scatting along with some memorable lyrics. "Ramble On" is perfectly titled as the song just kind of scuffles around with a chooglin guitar riff as its backbone. John Bonham gets to show off why they call him Bonzo on the drum workout "Moby Dick". "Thank You" has to rank as one of the prettiest songs in rock and probably the most tender number the band has ever recorded. Mr. Plant provides an almost whisper like vocal that is framed by ethereal keyboards from John Paul Jones. The song's quiet beauty merges into the stinging guitars of "Heartbreaker" which merges seamlessly into the rollicking "Living Loving Maid". Led Zeppelin II became the band's first number one album. - Led Zeppelin - Music - Hard Rock - Definitive 200'

Park Bench Back Yard Bench - bench, diy bench

I just finished assembling a 2x4basics AnySize Bench 11200 and am very happy with it. The bench assembly took a little longer than I thought it would. I think I worked on it for about two hours. I wasn't counting on having to drill pilot holes for the dozens of screws (included) that had to be used putting the bench together. Nor did I figure on spending so much time figuring out how to best sink the screws into the underside of the boards. Don't worry about slanting the screws into the wood a bit. It is impossible to get a drill into a perfect position for making a 90 degree hole. Most of the screws do not show anyhow.

It was necessary to tip the bench over in order drill pilot holes and to get at the screws. I had to clamp the 2x4's to the plastic/composite ends to keep them from falling off or moving out of position. I would recommend using a couple of small carpentry clamps to hold things in place while putting the bench together.

I had the 2x4's sanded and painted prior to attaching them to the plastic/composite ends so that took a little time, but probably not more than an additional hour. That probably saved time in the long run. Making this bench with the 2x4 basics kit is not a difficult project.

The 2x4 basics bench is solid and not all that heavy, but it isn't going to blow over in a high wind. I am quite satisfied with how the bench came out and somewhat surprised at how substantial it is. I thought it might twist and perhaps wiggle side to side--nope, it is a rock.

I am so pleased with this approach to building patio furniture that I will be recommending the product to friends. 2x4basics AnySize Chair or Bench Ends, Sand

These are the coolest things! We bought 3 sets and made two 12 feet benches, each with one of these in the middle for extra support. We used redwood and they turned out really nice! I love that these come with all the hardware you need. All you have to do is buy the 2x4's and just slide them through and screw them in place! So easy! And you can make them as long as you want. However, if you make the benches long like we did you do need the extra support of more of these. I definately recommend these to anyone!

The vinyl seats on my pontoon boat had deteriorated over the years of exposure to sun and weather. Yes, we started out with good intentions of covering the boat, but we all get lazy after a while.

I had been looking for a solution other than spending a lot of money to have the seats recovered. Found the bench ends of 2x4 basics on line vs. many other types of outdoor benches available that are all very expensive.

The 2x4 basics have worked out perfect. Easy to assemble, very sturdy, durable for the crowd we get on the pontoon boat.

I actually made the benches eight feet long even though the recommendation is not to exceed six feet. I made a center support from a short 2x6 (used 2x4's for the bench as instructed) using the bench end as a template. Just cut the shape and angles with a sabre saw. Used deck screws to screw the support to the 2x4's of the bench seat and front and back support 2x4's. Very strong and no flex in the bench seat.

Working great and no maintenance.

Have purchased 2 sets of the 2x4 basics bench ends for use in our neighborhood common area by a small lake. Residents are pleased with the comfort and sturdiness of the benches while enjoying the view and feeding the ducks.

The only addition I made was to install 4" mending plates at 1/3 span intervals of the 2"x4"s for the seat. These served to firm up the seat and eliminate pinch points between the 2"x4"s.

Amazon had the best price and were incredibly quick with delivery.

We like this bench so much we bought another. It comes in a relatively lightweight box, and we easily assembled it using our own wood. We chose the location for the bench, then put it together at that location so we didn't have to move it once it was one piece and heavy. We've had it now for over a year and it's sturdy and charming. You'll enjoy this bench, and the price!

We purchased 2 sets of bench ends. We needed something in our yard areas to sit and view the gardens around our home. This fills the bill nicely. Purchased 8 foot 2x4's and cut them all 4 foot long. Painted them up and put them all together. We just love our new benches.

My 14 year old grandson put this together as a 5' bench for my porch in less than an hour, following the very clear instructions on the box. It is sturdier than most of the fancier and more expensive metal framed benches I have seen and it is comfortable to sit on. The "Product Description" information makes it clear that 2x4's are not included. You need 9 cut to whatever length (up to 6') you intend to make the bench. This is a reasonably priced product that should provide years of enjoyment.

Buyer/builder beware!

I am so glad that I carefully studied (and did not trust) the alleged instructions, which were, by the way, no more than a few pictures on the box.

For my four-foot bench, I was "instructed" to cut three four-foot 2 x 4s, and two 41" 2 x 4s. In actuality, the bench requires nine four-foot 2x4s, and no other lengths. Had I followed the instructions, I would have wasted eight feet of expensive treated lumber, AND needed a second trip to the lumberyard to buy additional boards.

My four hours' labor has resulted in a great bench, no thanks to the manufacturer.

After our old metal bench died, I started looking for a replacement. We live in south TX on the coast, so having something that wouldn't rust again was important to us. I finally found this bench doing a search and it looked easy enough to do. It's available on several sites, but Amazon was the best deal for sure! My DH and I are homeowners, but not fixers, therefore I was a little concerned about how easy it would be. It was easy, easy. We used pressure-treated wood and did have to cut it ourselves - but we were easily able to do that with a circular saw. We cut out wood 5.5 ft long for a bench (plenty big for 2 large people) and we still have the 2.5 lengths leftover for a chair to do. It's comfortable, very sturdy, looks good in the yard, rust proof, and easy care. What more could you want? - Bench - 2x4basics - Diy Bench - Outdoor Seating'

Cordless String Trimmer - weed whacker, lithium-ion

I wanted to replace my Homelite 14" dual-line string trimmer as I finally had enough of the noise, pollution, starting issues, mixing/storing of gas & oil, engine maintenance, and the constant need (and effort) to replace the pre-cut line strips.

Cordless is the way to go. However, given the current limitations of battery technology, I was concerned about finding a string trimmer that had the necessary balance of power, run time, weight, and charge time. I also wanted a reliable unit that would give me years of trouble-free service.

I did my usual due-diligence, and spent hours reading reviews and handling a few units at the local hardware stores. I work in the computer/electronics field, so I am very familiar with battery technology and the other parts of a string trimmer. I know I wanted Lithium Ion batteries with >30 minutes run time. I was also more interested in the highest AH (Amp Hour) rating than Volts (e.g., 18V, 20V, 36V, etc). Marketing is pushing the voltage rating (largely because the lower-cost Ni-cad batteries have a lower Amp-Hour rating in comparison to Lithium Ion batteries of the same weight). However, voltage is a poor indicator of how powerful and long the trimmer will run. For example; both a tiny hearing-aid battery and D-size flashlight battery have the same voltage rating (1.5V), however the D-size battery has a much higher Amp-Hour rating. If you replaced the D cell in a flash light with the tiny hearing-aid battery, the light would barely be visible and would drain the battery in less than a minute. Whereas the D cell would light the lamp at full brightness for over 30 minutes. Same basic principle applies to a trimmer. Choices as of now (2010) for Li-Ion batteries range from 1.3 Ah to 6.0 Ah. 6 Ah is a huge amount of capacity! 1.3 Ah is small, and given the amount of current (Amps) required each minute to spin a string-trimmer motor powerful enough to cut grass, is only suitable for a postage-stamp sized yards.

For comparison; as of 2011, a hi-capacity laptop Li-Ion battery is ~ 4.5 Ah.

In addition, Li-Ion batteries do not have the memory effect that NiCad batteries do, so I do not have to totally discharge the battery before recharging. That is a major weakness for Ni-Cads because you always end up charging the battery for the full 12+ hours before each use. Furthermore, Li-Ion batteries hold their charge over a much longer period of time than a Ni-Cad. I can fully charge a Li-Ion battery and, a week or so later, top it off with a quick charge (say 90 minutes) as required over the season.

Unfortunately high Amp-Hour Li-Ion string-trimmer choices are very limited at this time. The Greenworks 21602 and Troy-Bilt TB57 are really the only choices; the TB57 being the cheaper of the two. They are basically the same unit. They both use the identical Li-Ion 6AH battery and 4 ½ hr. charger. The only real difference (other than color) is the shaft, throttle switch, and the swivel hinge for edging on the Greenworks. BTW: you could buy the TB57 and use the battery on the Greenworks leaf blower. I handled the TB57 at Lowes, and I agree with the negative reviews about the short shaft and force required to hold the safety switch in.

In the end, I ordered the Greenworks mainly because I am 6' tall and the TB57 was just a little short (even with the telescopic shaft at maximum) and I know my finger would get numb from holding the power switch down.

I really struggled with the decision to buy this particular brand of string trimmer. I was hesitant to buy an unknown brand; especially since the Greenworks web site did not list any near-by service locations to drop the unit off for warranty repair (only option is mail in), and reading two reviews on Amazon where the warranty hot line was non-existent or unresponsive. That makes Greenwork's four-year warranty worthless. I am also concerned about the longevity of the electric motor. Will it last +5 years? I noticed two people already experienced early-life motor failures (one Greenworks and one Troy Bilt). I plan on giving the Greenworks a good workout and return it to Amazon if I find anything I don't like during the first 30 days.

Well I got the Greenworks four days after ordering it (selected the free shipping option) from Amazon (exceeding my expectation and one of the main reasons why I buy from Amazon).

Assembly was very easy (needed a Philips screw driver for the one screw). Build quality seems good. I do agree with one reviewer that the plastic handle feels a little cheap as it flexes a bit. However, that flex does make the unit even more comfortable. The shaft is long enough for me. The balance and weight are very good.

Regarding cutting power; this is not a commercial grade trimmer that you use for a landscaping business. The power is sufficient to cut through dense grass; however I have to move a little slower than I did with my gas trimmer. This trimmer is suited for yards that have been maintained well in the past. I would not recommend it for a yard that is, or often becomes, overgrown (i.e., grass or weeds over 12" tall).

The automatic line feed works very well. Each time I start the unit it feeds ¼" of new line. The only drawback is that I go through a lot of line when I move from tree to tree; stopping the unit each time to save battery power. The four hour charge time is adequate as it does keep me from missing a scheduled grass cutting if I forget to charge the battery the day before (can't do that with a 12 hr. Ni-cad charger). Like any battery powered trimmer, the noise level is very low. I am now able to trim the yard in the early morning (before I start using the lawn mower) without getting my neighbors upset. So far I am satisfied with this purchase.

However, I did notice the motor slow down to about 1/3 the speed while using it. The speed returned to normal when I released the throttle and pressed it in again. This happened three times already. I am not sure if the motor has a built in thermal power reduction (which is good as it would prevent the motor from burning up). If it starts to happen more often, I will return the trimmer to Amazon.

Update week 1:

Battery life is excellent. I have used this trimmer over a five day period on the original charge. After +30 minutes of use, I still have three of four battery status lights on.

I have noticed that the motor air vents clog with grass clippings after a few minutes of use. This may contribute to the motor overheating/failure problems some are experiencing. I now make it a practice to clean the air vents (wipe off the external grass and blow out the grass inside the motor) every few minutes. I think Greenworks should design a thick foam ring that fits over the motor to trap the clippings. Then all I would need to do is periodically rinse the foam ring in soapy water.

Update week 3:

After 3 weeks of use, I am very pleased with this trimmer. It took awhile to get use to the fact that it is always ready to go with just a push of a button; no need to charge before each use, no worries bout prepping the motor and trying to start it, etc. I now find myself pulling out the trimmer when I come from work and spot a few weeds while walking along the driveway or sidewalk. The battery status bar finally dropped down to 2 of 4 lights; so I charged it up to give the battery charger one more test before the 30 day exchange period with Amazon ends.

I have not experienced any more slow downs. I suspect that was caused by clogged air vents.

I used the edger for the first time last week; just pushed the big button on the shaft near the motor and the shaft pivots 90 degrees. The wheel rolled smoothly and the angle of the shaft was perfect as it gave me a good view of the cut. It was much easier than I thought and produced consistent results; far better than the free-hand edging method I have been using for years.

I have already used all the string on the one spool and inserted the free second spool (BTW - easy to change). I went to Home Depot and purchased a 300' re-fill package of the .65 blue line to re-fill the spools as needed. For ~ $7, I have enough line for years.

However, the real shining star is not the trimmer, but the 6AH Lithium-Ion battery. The capacity is perfect for all but mega-size yards.

I received the Greenworks 24602 blower for Father's Day; it uses the 20V/6AH Li-Ion battery from the trimmer. Now I can trim the yard and use the blower to clear off the grass clippings from the driveway and sidewalks. The blower with this battery makes it very convenient to use and makes it more versatile. For example, I used it to blow dry my car after I washed it (beats ringing out drying clothes). I also opened the car doors and blew out some dog hair and dust from inside the car.

I would buy the Greenworks chainsaw (also uses the same battery) to cut up the many small limbs that blow down after a storm. Unfortunately, the current $69 10-inch chainsaw is too expensive and large for what I need. A 6-8 inch model (with a lower cost) would be ideal to cut up limbs and small tree shoots into small enough pieces to toss them in a trash can.

Bottom line: "It's the battery stupid" (I think that's a Bill Clinton quote); the fully capable string trimmers (either the Greenworks or Troy-Bilt) and leaf blower only exist because of it.
