Inflatable Kayak - inflatable kayak

We needed a cheap way to get into kayaking and found this kayak on Amazon. If cheap and easy is what you are after this is the way ahead. We got it to the lake and had it inflated in minutes with a coleman quick pump(which is not that good). I also purchased a skeg and some ali paddles.

Minutes later we were paddling around the lake figuring out turns and direction techniques. We have also been down flat water rivers and have had great fun. The boat is super stable and even take our 7 month old in it. Sevylor Tahiti Fishing/Hunting Inflatable Kayak

When I was looking for an inflatable boat I was looking for ease of inflating and deflating while I was camping. It is very easy to inflate and deflate. I would recommend buying an electric pump that also deflates as well. Fishing can be a bit challenging at first because of the light weight which causes drift especially when fighting the fish, but after hours of practice you will learn the dynamics of the boat and it will become second nature. This boat is great for double kayaking with a friend.

I have a small car and this works perfect for when I am wanting to float about the lakes while camping. I can blow it up and I am on my way. It is very sturdy. I have purchased two boat cushions that I sit on when rowing to bring my body up, it is easier. I also bought the SKEG, this is a must, keeps you from spinning in the lake. I haven't quite figured out the sides which have indicators on them, sure I will figure out the right amount of air with use. Overall an awesome ride!

I was thinking of buying a kayak just to get out on the water, and maybe for fishing. I live in an apartment in the city, however, and have no place to keep a hardside boat unless I consider it furniture. When I read about inflatable kayaks I was interested, but skeptical. I checked around, and narrowed my choice to this Sevylor and the Sea Eagle. I went with the Sevylor at $105 plus shipping, and I'm pretty happy so far.

I went to a small (45 acre) lake to give the thing trial run. I had to hike about 1/2 mile down a trail to get to the lake. I was alone, and able to carry the deflated boat, all my fishing gear, and a few other things this distance without too much trouble. I inflated the boat in about ten minutes with a hand pump, and was on the water. I paddled the entire length of the lake, heading into a stiff wind (about 15mph) without breaking a sweat. I have the skeg, and didn't have any problems with tracking. At the far end of the lake, I used a 5 lb. anchor while fishing several small coves. It worked perfectly. I caught a couple of bass and some panfish, and found the boat to be stable in the water the entire time and surprisingly comfortable. After a couple of hours I had fished my way back to the landing, deflated and packed everything back to the car.

If you're a serious, hardcore kayaker... go buy a kayak. If you want to be able to explore a lake and go fishing on a whim for less than $200 (boat, paddle, pump, etc.)with a boat that you can fit in the trunk of a hatchback, I'd get this thing.

=====

I have used this boat several times over the last couple of months. I can report that it is holding up well, and I'm still very happy with the purchase.

I eventually did take it out with a passenger, and found that it feels just as stable while carrying two people as it does with one.

This is a nice, convenient item for the price.

Update: 8/7/11

=====

Hello, I bought this kayak on a whim. I've been in and out of hard shell kayak's all my life. But this is my very first inflatable. I bought it because I was tired of fishing from shore. It's great to start off with. We have an ozark trail electric pump, which had it inflated in about 10 minutes including the time to figure out what goes where. I'm seeing a lot of reviews mentioning a Skeg. This i feel is a must. It was windy out today, and we were twirling like a feather in the wind. Even so we were able to navigate somewhat. We used one of the oars as a rudder which seemed to give us much better forward control. My girlfriend is a bigger girl and the two of us definetley went over the weight limit, but you wouldn't know it.

Still a little scared with my hooks around it. I think I may upgrade to the Sevylor Colorado soon, only because this first inflatable was so much fun!

This kayak is a lot of fun. Wife and I take it out to Grapevine Lake, in Grapevine, Tx. It is a big lake, with lots of boats. Keep reading for details on that. We take it out to the middle of the lake and just relax there.

--Durability

Pretty sturdy, I was a bit scared the first time we took it out, but after the first time I became very comfortable with it. The lake where we go is pretty deep so I'm not concerned with branches or big rocks sticking out. As soon as we leave the shore, I'm worry free, though I bring the patch with me just in case (and my PFD). We thought about going to Trinity River in Arlington, the water there was great, but there were too many branches sticking out of the water, so I'd rather take a hard shelled kayak there. Other than that, the valves are great, excellent quality PVC.

--Heading

After reading all the reviews, we bought the directional skeg with the kayak, so I never tried it w/o the skeg. The skeg keeps you straight, but of course it is not perfect. If 2 of you are on the kayak, you will have to coordinate your paddles, and both have to try to keep it straight. Sometimes we have problems on windy days, the wind & current can make you go around in circles, but that is expected given the size of the thing. I'd say winds under 20mph should be OK for fun kayaking. If you stay close to the shore, it should help as well. And for beginner kayakers, keep the paddling smooth and uniform. Another tip for keeping it straight, but again, sometimes the wind will turn you no matter what and you'll have to correct your direction very often. Wakes created by boats and jet-skis don't seem to affect it that much (actually they make the paddling more fun).

--Size & Seating

I've heard some comments about the size and fitting 2 people. I am 5'11", the wife is 5'4". We both fit just fine. We even bought a dry bag to carry our belongings (wallet, cell phone) and we put that under the canopy in the back. One problem we had in the beginning was the front seat. The backseat almost feels like a recliner, and it's very comfortable, but the front seat kept moving a lot, since it doesn't have anything to lean on (except for the legs of the person behind you). The way we solved that was by undoing part of the string tying down the front canopy, and using that to tie the seat (there's a hole in the middle, we just tie it there). That seems to hold the seat up pretty well, doesn't slide at all, so it's more comfortable for the kayaker in front. Also, the seats can be a pain to inflate, but they don't take much air. I'm still researching a replacement seat option.

--Portability & related items

Fits in the trunk of our small sedan just fine. We bought these items as well:

Coleman 12-Volt DC QuickPump - Good pump, we're in the water in 5-10 mins.

Kwik Tek Deluxe Kayak Paddle 2 sect Alum 84" Curved Blade - 2 sections, so they fit in your trunk even if you have a small car.

Ascend(tm) Heavy-Duty Round-Bottom Dry Bags -keeps your valuables dry.

O'rageous® Men's PFD Neoprene Life Vest - fit pretty well, comfy, though I tend to unbuckle it sometimes for easier paddling. - Inflatable Kayak'

Neoprenen - wrist weights, fitness

They are just awful. The sand makes them too short to wrap around ankles and barely fit on my wrists (I am a small woman). I could not get them to touch ends on my ankle. The sand filling is so full that it will not lay on the skin. I immediately returned them to amazon. Reebok  4-Pound Ankle Wrap Weight set - Fitness - Exercise - Weights - Wrist Weights'

Security System Battery - 12 volt battery, good product

As the previous reviewer stated the battery is advertised as a 12v 4Ah battery and what I received was a 12v 5Ah battery; However, after reading his review I checked around on the internet and found that the 12v 5Ah is a common replacement battery for most alarm systems. So far the battery has worked for ours. This battery was the most economical one including shipping and handling. The battery arrived promptly along with an instruction page for charging tips. We placed the battery in the alarm system and in about 4hr of charging the battery indicator was turned off showing that there wasn't any battery problems. I would have given 5 stars if the seller would have simply explained about the replacement issue. UB1250 Universal Sealed Lead Acid Battery, 12 Volts, 5 Ah

I purchased this battery for my home alarm system and was very pleasedUB1250 SEALED LEAD ACID BATTERY FOR 12 VOLTS / 5 AH with the price point and speed of delivery from the vendor. The battery was extremely easy to install and saved me from paying the cost for a service technician. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the product.

I bought this battery to replace the one in our Security system for our home.

The item arrived quickly and well packaged.

It was a great fit with the system.

The price was better than the local battery specialty store.

Worked great. Hooked it up in the alarm system box and the Trouble light went away within seconds. I was replacing a UB1245 battery that came with the system, but this worked just fine. Quick and easy replacement!

I was looking to replace the battery in my Brinks Home Alarm system. Due to a low battery indication, the alarm would go off spontaneously at exactly 5:22 am every morning - one heck of an alarm clock, but not all that pleasant. After calling Brinks, they indicated it would cost just over $125 to have a technician come out to change the battery. After looking in the control unit and finding the battery, it was simply two plugs and and easy replacement - so I sought the correct battery. This was it!

Shipping was quick, the battery was well packaged for shipping, and was an exact match for my alarm. No more 5:22 siren blasts!!!!

Purchased this battery as a replacement for a home alarm system. Battery worked for one day, where it then died. Have ordered batteries before from other sites with no problems. Will not purchase this same item again and possibly not from this supplier. - Sealed Lead Acid Battery - Good Product - Recommended - 12 Volt Battery'

Power Yoga - hot yoga, skidless

This yoga towel is the best for Ashtanga and hot yoga. I use it with the Manduka 85" mat & the combination is the best. If you don't break a sweat, then don't bother. If you do, then you cannot live without this towel. Be sure to wash it, the dark towels bleed like crazy. This towel had little nubs on the bottom that make it stick to your mat. It's great. I don't think it's really that pricey considering I use it 3 times a week or more. Yogitoes Big Skidless Yoga Towel (Indigo)

I sweat a lot during even a moderate paced Vinyasa set, and this is a much better solution than keeping a hand towel nearby and interrupting yourself every few minutes to attempt to dry off the mat when it doesn't even really make it less slippery. I'd almost say that the more sweat you've got, the better this bad boy works.

A few tips, though:

1) Don't dry it with a dryer sheet since it makes it less absorbent and more slippery.

2) I let the towel hang off the front of my mat about a foot to allow about a foot of bare mat down where my feet are in downward dog. Since my feet don't typically get sweaty enough to slip, I find I have a better grip that way.

3) When starting a Yoga set, it helps to get your hands wet to start since the towel seems to be slipperier than a mat when dry.

I later bought the small towel that Yogitoes also makes which I now use even more often since it can just be placed near the top of your mat where your hands go. But, I like either depending on how hot the session gets.

I agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewers who use it in Bikram Yoga classes. The Yogitoes Big Skidless Yoga Towel is second to none in this capacity.

After using the Yogitoes skidless towel for a few months in my Bikram Yoga practice I was pretty happy with it. I bought 3 of them so I wouldn't have to do laundry after every class, and they have held up well to multiple washings. I did have to wash them several times to get the dye to stop bleeding. I have a large Jade Yoga mat and the towel was just about exactly the same size. It does not move around or bunch up like a regular towel. It is reasonably absorbant, but after 90 minutes of hot yoga I have sweatd buckets. For the last 30 minutes of class I am lying on a completely soaked towel that is puddling with moisture. It was reading a review for this product where I first heard about the hot yoga towel from eQua. Amazon sells the regular eQua towels, but I had to go elsewhere to get the hot yoga towels. The eQua towel is larger and thicker than the Yogitoes. It does not have the rubber nubs on the bottom, but I had no problem with the towel staying in place. It is more absorbant than the Yogitoes and I like not having to stick my face on a drenched towel. Both these towels are expensive. The eQua is generally about 10 dollars more, but I will be buying more of those than the yogitoes in the future.

First of all you must wash this several times SEPARATELY before putting it in the wash with your other clothes. The tag says to do so, but the colors were still bleeding after 3 washings.

I just measured my towel and it is 79", which is 6 inches shorter than my Manduka Black Mat Pro 85" mat. I learned if you don't want to slip off the end of you mat you need to make sure your towel hangs off the back of your mat. The Manduka is very slippery when soaked with sweat, but grippy when dry. The Yogitoes is the exact opposite, slippery when dry and grippy when wet. So you may need to put a few drops of water on your Yogitoes towel where your hands and feet go in down dog before you start your practice so you don't slip off your mat.

I am a very sweaty 6'3" male who does power yoga for 1.5-2 hrs 3-4 days a week. I've learned that I must immediately hang dry my towel in the sun or put it in the wash after a class. I was busy a couple of times after class and didn't wash it till later in the day and my towel developed a moldy type smell that was hard to get rid of, even after repeated washing in warm water. If you don't sweat that much you might not have that problem.

If you sweat as much as I do you could find that the yogitoes towel will become super saturated where you put your hands. Once your towel gets that wet it might move around a bit in down dog, or in lunge positions. For me that is usually toward the end of a class, but it could be a problem for you too if you sweat excessively like me. This is one of the reasons I wouldn't give a 5 star rating.

All that said I would recommend this product if you get sweaty during yoga and are sick of using a beach towel. I purchased the Indigo because it was a less expensive color.

These are great towels - they stay put pretty well during vinyasa (they have little rubbery dots on the bottom) and are pretty non-slip even when dry thanks to those little rubbery dots. They are light and easy to carry, and can be easily machine washed and dried. They hold well with use. A thicker cotton rug might be better for really hot sessions since the towel can become a little wet and clammy, but these towels are lighter, easier to transport, easier to wash and dry, and less slippery during the initial part of a practice session.

The larger size is essential for larger yogis - it lets you concentrate more on your practice and less on slipping off the edge of the towel in side arm balance or other poses.

I love my Yogitoes mat - it is very absorbent and actually seems much dryer than when I use a normal towel on my mat (I do Bikram yoga and so I sweat a lot), soft and comfortable to lie on. It is very slip resistant and nice and long, it extends 6 inches beyond my mat the long way on both ends, which is great for when you have to do a pose with a wide stance. I love it!

I sweat like no one else I've seen in class (Bikram and heated Vinyasa). This holds traction and soaks it up like nothing I've seen - on some particularly hard classes I squish walking on it by the end, yet can still practice on it.

Only gripe is that the big size only comes in blue. I'd like one of the other cool colors. - Hot Yoga - Skidless - Bikram - Yoga Mat'

Smith And Wesson - smith and wesson, pocket

This seems like a good knife, especially at the price. I've not been pounding on it with a hammer, or using it to chisel marble, but the constrction seems sound, the blade well mounted and of high quality, the grip easy on the hand, and the mechanism locks positively and well.

Reflecting upon another review, it is possible that a smaller hand might find the thumb-knurl on the small side and difficult to open, for lack of leverage and inadequate purchase. This is only a guess, but may be a matter of consideration for others. As already noted, I find the blade easy to open and the lock mechanism tight and solid.

One other point of approval -- the belt-clip is very solid, tight and well-mounted. Many other manufacturers seem to go cheap on the clip, which makes carrying the knife a problem after a while. The clip loosens up and the knife will easily fall off the belt if one is in an awkward position or brushing past things. This guy looks like it will stay on the belt long after the belt itself has fallen away. This, for me, is another positive. Smith & Wesson CK5TBS Bullseye Extreme Ops 4.1" 40% Serrated Black Tanto Blade

The price is really good, but there are reasons why the price is so cheap. I've had the knife for three months and there have been some problems. The biggest problem is the joint, the joint is made of low quality plastic that will become very flimsy in a short amount of time. The other problem that isn't as big of a deal is the liner lock, the liner lock is weak and doesn't feel good when being used. Overall the best thing about the knife is the price, if that's the only reason you want the knife you will be satisfied. If you want a knife that you plan on using for more than just light labor this isn't the knife for you, you might want to try Gerber Knives.

It's the best ten dollar knife I've ever bought.

I wasn't expecting much. I read the reviews and said to myself, "I know this is a waste of money but why the hell not?" I'm glad I did.

I'm kind of a knife nut. I've been one since I was a kid and that was a lonnnnngggg time ago. Over the years I have collected dozens of knives and I've used all of them for various tasks around the house, on the job and while camping or travelling. I have several big knives from Swamp Rat, Becker and SOG, a few martial arts knives from Cold Steel, hunting knives from Lakota, Puma, Fallkniven and Buck and boxes full of folding knives from Victorinox, Spyderco, Buck, Kershaw, Al Mar, Benchmade, Gerber and numerous others. A few purchases were junk--like a CRKT folder that refuses to take an edge no matter how much I hone it. A few were disappointments--like an Ontario/RAT military/survival knife that cost a hundred bucks and the handles fit like a three buck dimestore toy. A few were surprises--like the Byrd knives made in China and imported by Spyderco.

This S&W was one of the surprises.

It's made in China by Taylor Cutlery. It's badged as Smith & Wesson but S&W doesn't really make it and probably has nothing to do with the design, choice of materials or anything else. It's a cheap knife that is made to be sold and should be junk. But it's not.

This is not the sharpest knife I've ever bought but it can be sharpened to a good utility edge. The serrations are good for utility purposes as well and they can be touched up nicely with the Spyderco Sharpmaker. It's not the prettiest knife I've ever bought but I bought it as a "beater" so looks are not important. The tanto-point blade has a good, even grind and the thickness of the blade makes for a pretty strong utility knife overall. The clip is a bit on the flimsy side but it holds the knife inside the pocket well suspended. The aluminum handles have good gripping surfaces that helps to prevent your hand slipping when wet. Opening and closing is smooth and easy to perform one handed. Really, it's a knife that just seems to fulfill the purpose of being a folding knife.

The best part is that it's a ten buck knife.

I don't expect this knife to last for decades. I won't be passing it down to future generations. It's going to be rode hard and put up wet and abused and neglected. It will get a sharpening when dull and an oiling when the joint is sluggish but it's not going to get the treatment I give to my expensive knives. I'll use it for dirty jobs and if it gets lost in the process, I will not feel too much pain. It's just a ten buck knife.

EDIT 04/07/2010: What they say about the lock is true. It wears pretty quickly, turning this folder into a fixed blade until you can find a screwdriver or other tool to pry the lock out of the way and close it. About the same quality lock mechanism as I've seen in some $40 Chinese Gerbers. Difference is, in a $40 knife it's garbage and in a $10 knife it's expected.

I'd never had one of these liner lock knives before & when I saw this one for the price on here while researching the Victorinox knife I also purchased (Farmer's pocketknife, excellent!) I figured I'd try it, what could another letter opener hurt.

Well, it hurt me! First time I opened the blade it didn't lock and I didn't realize it and closed the serrated part a little on my finger like an idiot. Yes, it's very sharp! After playing with it some more, the lock seemed so stiff that I was thinking of returning it, there was no way it could be operated one-handed.

However, playing with it some more, I tried flicking the blade open. I was able to do this easily even with it fully closed (another customer mentions flicking it open from a partially opened position, but I've had good luck doing it with the knife fully closed.). The blade easily locked! I did this a few more times just to hear the nice locking sound it made. But then I noticed, I was able to easily open and lock the blade with one hand. I suppose the flicking sped up a breaking-in process that a few more two-handed openings would have done.

Umm, I guess I should add, if you're going to try flicking the blade open MAKE SURE YOU CAN HANG ONTO THE KNIFE. I'm a big guy with big hands and nobody was in the room with me; I wouldn't make a habit of opening a knife this way, because it only has to go wrong once when you get careless to really be a bad thing. And I'm going to be closing it with two hands just to be safe.

So now I'm fully pleased with the knife. Easy one-hand open and lock. It's got a really well-machined appearance and feel to it, seems to be well-made in every area. Feel's good in the hand, I don't think it'll get away from you any while you're cutting or sawing. It's very light, too, I could slip it in a pocket and forget it.

Overall, for this price and quality, I can only recommend it. If you're a nOOb like me to these kinds of knives however, this is no toy, it will cut you if you're a moron. So be careful, and enjoy this incredibly cheap, amazing little piece of hardware. - Black - Knife - Pocket - Smith And Wesson'

Flattering

What a great book. I LOVE the visual format, the easy style of the writing, and I am laughing at how often I read a bit and say to myself, "OF COURSE! Why didn't I toss that darned thing a year ago... Never did feel good in it!" The author points out the things you can't put your own finger on -- why something doesn't look quite right. She also tells you how to appropriately pair things, something I struggle with especially when it comes to shoes. There's a great section on what types of outfits various types of shoes/boots will complement, and what NOT to pair them with. All the solutions are uncomplicated, practical, and completely do-able. This book will make a great "girlfriend" gift too. In fact I'm going on a girls' weekend next week and I'm bringing a copy for each of my pals! Wear This, Toss That!: Hundreds of Fashion and Beauty Swaps That Save Your Looks, Save Your Budget, and Save You Time

I really liked this book. I liked the fact that is was in color, organized well and a easy read. A lot of the fashipn or books on color are written in black and white. It is really hard to really get what they are trying to tell you without seeing it. This book is well worth the money. It's a keeper.

Being a stylist, fashion and style blogger, closet cleaner and overall fashion fanatic, I read virtually every book on the subject of fashion, style, how to be chic, gorgeous, age appropriate, look rich and be envied that is out there. This is one of the best I have found. Great advice - not just theory. Good examples with real people models. I am hyper-critical of "fashion" books and this one makes the cut.

This is a flip thru and set up in the bookshelf to forget about, type of book. Unless you're someone who could be nominated for TLC's "What Not to Wear" then you really don't need this book. There is nothing in here remarkable or stunning and most of the information is "common knowledge". Also their 2 models look like they wear a size 4 so it does not account for varrying body shapes or sizes. My suggestion, just use a full length mirror and look at yourself before you leave the house.

What a fantastic fashion book! I'll be honest, as much as I enjoy fashion, make-up, hair and skin care, I don't necessarily read up on it. This book is so easy though - it makes staying in style while still loving your own personal flair a breeze. As well, its laid out like your own closet - portioned into sections that make the arguably frustrating task of "what to get rid of" basic. This Mom and wife certainly knows her stuff and I appreciated all of the time spent on skin care so much! It's such a challenge reading labels, finding reviews that don't come from a manufacturer etc. - and reading both the authors reports AND interviews of respected and well known people in the industry was fantastic. Wonderfully done!

I got this from the library and I'm glad I didn't waste my money. It did have a few helpful hints. I am 48 and looking to update my look without looking like I want to be 21 again. This book was not geared to my age; more geared to a 30 something wanting to look professional. Also, something that really irritates me is when books or advertisements show before/after or good/bad photos, and the before or bad photo is just ridiculously bad. . . bad lighting, unhappy expression, bad angle for the photo, etc; and then miraculously Everything is better in the after/good photo. C'mon! We're not idiots out here! show us realistic before/after shots please!

I loved this book! So many times on TV or in magazines we are told what to wear, but it's just as important to know what NOT to wear and "Wear This, Toss That" does just that. I felt inspired to finally get rid of all the ill-fitting, dated, unflattering items in my closet that I had been wearing over and over again. I now have a much better understanding of what styles work best for my body shape and what is best to avoid. I also appreciated that, in addition to fashion, they also gave great tips on make-up and hair/skin care. All in all, I found this book extremely helpful and would recommend it to my friends.

I got this book yesterday and have read thru most of it. I don't feel I have learned anything. The same styles do not look good on everyone and every body type. It talks a lot about fit.. yes clothing should fit right- now what? After hours of reading, I just want to feel I've learned something. I feel I'm pretty stylish person, but some of the pictures of what to wear I think are ugly. And some of the don't would work on the right person. After spending $16 and waiting a week for the book to come in the mail I'm disappointed!

What an excellent book to read and keep on hand - this is definitely one I am putting on the keep shelf. Although I am pretty good, not excellent, but pretty good and getting rid of clothes that haven't been worn in awhile; I am terrible about the amount of clothes that come in the door (no comment from the peanut gallery). I find something that fits and I assume that I will never see it again, so I order 3 more in different colors or just 3 more. So, I must admit that my closet could use some tossing - especially now that police uniforms are on their way, a little stressed.

Ok, to review the book and not my closet. A great go to book to determine what should stay and what should be evicted from the closet. I skimmed through the parts that I may already have a handle on, but I spent a lot of time on the beauty section. Sweet and concise, the beauty section was a great overview of what products could be added to your shelf and routine and would could be deleted. Then the accessories, a great section that would help any woman pair down or amp up what they use to beef up their wardrobe and a particular outfit. All in all, this book definitely helped set priorities in my closet and made me want to sit down in it and evaluate the situation.

A purchase for anyone graduating college and heading into the work world or may be in a style or closet rut. I think everyone could grab a tip or idea from this book.'

Facial Cleanser

Hi,

I bought this product from Walmart after I ran out of my previous Neutrogena acne face wash. I thought this product was reasonably priced for its size. I had trouble determining which one of the Go 360 Cleans I should buy and in the end decided to go for the white and pink bottle for sensitive skin. I had very low expectations from this product as I have tried numerous acne products in the past.

Before I proceed further, let me give you an idea of what my skin is like. I have acne prone skin with acne, acne marks and some scars. I have an oily T zone but my cheeks tend to dry out due to the use of salicylic acid products.

I have now had this product for over a month and I LOVE IT! It is perfect for my skin. It gives a consistent even clean with a nice clean feeling. It has significantly reduced my blackheads. I also feel that it has reduced the size of pores by a trace amount. It has reduced my breakouts and acne a lot. I was not expecting miracles from a 6 dollar bottle, but this product has exceeded my expectations.

The product does make the skin feel dry after consistent use for sometime. So that is something to consider if you have dry skin. I have combination skin and I use it consistently. I use a oil-free moisturizer and sunscreen after this and it prevents my skin from drying up. I have also tried using the scrublet with some other acne face wash I had at home and it worked well. So, you could also use the scrublet with some other face wash you that you like.

I would recommend this product to anyone with acne/oily/combination skin. For dry skin I would recommend using this over summer/using with a moisturizer/or using it sporadically instead of every day. This is because the scrublet causes the face wash to foam and the skin to dry a little.

Give nice clean feeling. L'Oreal Paris Go 360 Clean, Deep Facial Cleanser, 6-Fluid Ounce

Love this for several reasons...

- When I'm done, I feel my face really does feel clean. It has an almost minty feel, then when you hit it with toner - WOW! Will wake you right up.

- Doesn't take much to use.

- The "scrublet" feels like it's really helping the cleanser do its job; it rinses clean in seconds; it attaches to the bottle, so you always have the cleaner and scrublet together; PLUS you get a brand new one every time you get a new bottle.

The only thing I would change about the product is:

- The bottles aren't clear as to what cleaner should be used on what kind of skin.

- It should come in a body wash!

I bought this product at Wal*Mart about two weeks ago. My first time using it proved this product worthy for me. My face was instantly smoother and I noticed smaller pores. It definitely cleans my face and makes it softer. It smells good and the cleansing pad feels great on my face. I definitely recommend this to people who, like me, have bought products claiming to work but they didn't. The only minor problem is that after using this product my face gets a little dry, but that's nothing a good moisturizer won't fix.

I am a huge fan of this product. I was using Sea Breeze years ago before the product was "new and improved" after which made my face feel greasy. I've had moderate to light acne problems since I was 12 so for half my life I've been trying to fight it off with pretty much no luck at all. My face is very oily and most face washes that I've tried have left my face greasy. Either that or over dried my face and left me looking like my skin was too tight for my face. ewwwww.

I saw this product advertised on tv and a couple days later I went and found it in a local CVS. WOW!! cannot believe how this makes my face feel! It leaves it feeling super soft and not over dried.

Love the scrublet for several reasons. I love that I'm not using a facial towel every time I want to wash my face which depending on the weather can be several times a day. Secondly, I love the way it feels like you're massaging your skin when you use it. And thirdly, I love that it has a suction cup on it so when your face is covered in suds and you can't see anything you can just put it on the sink and it stays there without making a mess or rolling off onto the floor and getting dirty.

Another great thing about this product is that it doesn't make your hair greasy. I hate when you get a cleanser in your hair (especially bangs) and when you rinse it all out it makes your hair look like it hasn't been washed in a week. This cleanser actually makes my hair feel like I've just come out of the shower.

And it smells great!!! You won't regret getting this facial cleanser.

I bought a bottle of this stuff strictly for the scrub-let. I have dry skin and acne so I loved the idea of exfoliating and cleaning with something that had a little salicylic acid in it. Does it leave my pores smaller? I didn't notice any difference. You can't really shrink pores anyway, so I expected that result. It's got a nice feel and lathers up good and leaves my skin feeling smooth and clean. Since the salicylic acid is almost half down on the ingredient list it really doesn't do anything for acne, so if you've got blemishes or blackheads this isn't going to be your miracle cure or anything. Still, it's nice for a daily cleaner.

Pros: Smooth, clean skin. No heavy scent. Scrub-let is a neat tool for gentle exfoliating. Good lather. Fun to use.

Cons: Not going to clear up your face if you have acne. Scrub-let can get a little slippery, but I never had trouble holding it. The stuff gets in your mouth and it tastes horrible. If you leave it on too long before rinsing it will leave your skin red. Doesn't minimize pores. A little pricey.

Overall I'd still recommend it. My face felt less dry overall, my skin felt so fresh after using it, and it's fun to use. I'll have to find something else to try for my acne though, but I still intend on using this as my in shower face cleaner, it's PERFECT for that.'

Electric Razor - norelco, philips

Received this shaver yesterday, and had a chance to play around with it. It is very ergonomic, easy to hold. None of my other electrics have ever done well on my neck, yet this 1150x has no problem. The head does a wonderful job of adapting to your face to get as many hairs as possible; you can even use it in the shower! The shaver gets 5 stars. However, to plug it in, you must dock it in the cradle. This may make it hard to travel with, although this is somewhat mitigated by a 40min battery. It also doesn't come with a case. One other qualm is the trimmer. The head of the shaver pops out and can be replaced with a trimmer instead of the trimmer being on the back of the unit. This however does make it a bit easier to use the trimmer, since the unit is so easy to hold. I love this shaver so much I am contemplating getting another for travelling. You won't be disappointed with this shaver, and if you are, Norelco offers a 45 day guarantee. Philips Norelco 1150x/40 SensoTouch 2d Electric Shaver, Metallic Blue

I purchased the Panasonic ES8103S and the Norelco 1150x at the same time and this review is a comparison of these 2 shavers side-by-side. I used both shavers for 3 weeks, shaving one side of my face with the Panasonic and the other side of my face with the Norelco. I didn't switch sides during the test to allow time to adapt to each shaver. Both of these shavers rated nearly the same amongst other Amazon reviewers and were the top-2 rated shavers under $100. I evaluated both shavers on a number of criteria:

-- Shaving Performance: I found that both shavers did a relatively good job overall. However, the Panasonic performed slightly better on the flat cheek areas whereas the Norelco did slightly better on the curved areas around the jaw bone and neck. I found that the shavers required different shaving techniques. The Panasonic, being a foil shaver, required an up-and-down or side-to-side motion whereas the Norelco, being a rotary shaver, required a circular motion. No matter how I shaved with the Norelco I could not get quite as close as the Panasonic. After some time I did find a technique with the Panasonic that allowed me to shave my neck and jaw bone area as close as the Norelco. I tried shaving both wet & dry and found no difference. I almost always shave dry and I found the Norelco didn't move as smoothly across the skin as the Panasonic. Overall, I give the edge to Panasonic for a better overall shave.

-- Return Guarantee: The Panasonic has a 30-day return policy, the Norelco is 45 days. I actually purchased the shavers from Target and they offer a 90-day return policy.

-- Warranty: The Panasonic has a 1 yr warranty, Norelco is 2 years.

-- Cutter Replacement: both shavers recommend replacing the cutters at specific intervals. Panasonic recommends replacing the foil every year ($24) and the blade every 2 years ($17). Norelco has only one replaceable part which they recommend you replace every year ($39). If you look at the cost over 3 years, the Panasonic would cost $65 whereas the Norelco would cost $117 which exceeds the original cost of the shaver ($100).

-- Charging: The Panasonic has an A/C adapter that can be plugged directly into the shaver and the shaver can be used with the cord attached. The Norelco can only be charged in the included charging cradle. If the battery in the Norelco goes dead you'll need to recharge it before you can use it. Also, the Panasonic has a digital LCD battery gauge whereas the Norelco simply uses LEDs.

-- Cleaning: Both shavers can be rinsed under water for simple cleaning. I found the Norelco shaving head somewhat difficult to remove whereas the Panasonic foil was very easy to remove/replace.

-- Price: Both shavers sell for under $100. Best price I found on the Panasonic was $80 @ Target. I saw the Norelco for $90 @ WalMart.

-- Other: The Panasonic has a built-in trimmer, the Norelco requires that you remove the shaving head and pop on the trimmer head. The Panasonic includes a carrying case, the Norelco does not.

In summary, the Panasonic rated higher than the Norelco in all areas with the exception of the warranty. My only real complaint with the Panasonic would be the noise. It is much louder than the Norelco but not so much so that I would return it. Based on my experience, I will be returning the Norelco and keeping the Panasonic. - Mens Grooming - Norelco - Shaving - Philips'

Cyrano De Bergerac - pencil, pencil sharpener

I believe that the title for this review, ("The Knows Knows!") was originally a trade-mark phrase of comedian Jimmy Durante -- a man with a HUGE nose, who made this protuberance a part of his comedy act.

Were Mr. Durante alive today, I'm sure he'd happily advertise this NOSE PENCIL-SHARPENER!

Other people from reality and fiction come to mind, as advertisers for this useful Amazon oddity. Pinnochio would surely be a good figure to put into any ad for this item. As would Cyrano de Bergerac, and perhaps -- just perhaps -- Jimmy Carter. No, Mr. Carter does NOT have an oversized nose....but as for his TEETH... Well, I once heard this rhyme on 'Saturday Night Live' -- which is SO funny, I've never forgotten it. It goes like this: "....I will never lie to you / I'll always tell the truth / Cause every time I tell a lie / I grow another tooth! " A reflection on Pinnochio, of course. And so Mr. Carter, with respects, is included here. (And I DO mean respects. VERY seriously! I'll always be a Jimmy Carter fan. He bucked the Washington Establishment and became President in spite of NOT being a Washington insider, he seems to me the most "Everyman" President of the USA since Harry Truman, and he, (and Roselyn), were the FIRST first couple to actually WALK part of the way, during their Inaugural Parade. THEY "inaugurated" it -- and every First Couple since has, er.....followed in their footsteps! and he, (and Roselyn), roll up their sleeves and work for 'Habitat for Humanity". And exemplary man and President, for sure. (Yes, he DID make a few mistakes -- but that only proves him to be Human, like everyone. We should all e so lucky as to grow teeth when we tell lies....or seem to!)

At any rate, with Jimmy Durante, Pinnochio, Cyrano de Bergerac, and Jimmy Carter all as potential spokes-people for this nose pencil-sharpener, how can you resist buying it? Oh yes -- one other group of spokes-people could ALSO advertise this item....but maybe they won't, because it's rumoured they don't exist -- though most people know otherwise, by now. And that is.......(shushhhh!) Members of The Mafia! Pencil up your nose, anyone? Nose Pencil Sharpener - Pencil Sharpener - Nose - Pencil - Stocking Stuffer'

Soap Opera

I never write reviews, but I am aways waiting for other peoples reviews, so I figured it was only fair that I start contributing. Especially since this is a new 2011 model and I am sure people are curious. This TV was replacing a 5 year old Philips Plasma. Picked up this TV a few weeks ago from Best Buy. Great picture. Good color and decent blacks for an edge lit LED. Great design also. The apps were cool, but my Blu-Ray player already has the same apps so that didn't interest me. I also have no interest in 3D, but most of the 2011 models all have it so it is what it is. The picture was crisp and as usual very bright with an edge lit LED and very easy to view in the daytime or in a brightly lit room. However, once the lights go out it's a different story. Let me preface the next few sentences by saying that I did my homework and knew that this could be a potential issue. I just wasn't expecting it to be this extreme. The lights emitted from all four corners and extended about 4 to 5 inches towards the middle of the screen. It was worse on the bottom than the top, but extremely noticeable in all corners. Watching a Blu-Ray with any type of black bars was almost impossible. It was also noticeable in any type of dark scene. Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes were unwatchable. No matter how hard I tried, my eyes were drawn to the white torches in the corners. I tried adjusting the backlight down to zero which helped but it didn't get rid of it and created a very dark picture. Oh, and before someone tries to scold me for not knowing how to properly calibrate a TV, I didn't have it on the factory setting of Vivid or any other overly bright or unrealistic setting. Not to get off topic but I find it ridiculous that these places expect people to pay more money to have their $2000 plus TV professionally calibrated. For that kind of money, the service should come with it, but I guess that would be in a perfect world. Anyway, I was keeping the back light down along with the brightness because I didn't want an overly bright/washed out look. The backlight goes up to 20 and I had it at 10 before dropping it to zero. On a side note my wife didn't notice it at all until I pointed it out to her so maybe some people won't notice or they may not even care. If I am spending almost $2000 on a TV, I expect it to not have flaws like that. The viewing angle was pretty bad also, but I expected that from an edge lit LED so I don't count that against them. 5 inches of flash-lighting coming from the corners, that's a big strike. Called Samsung and they said to wait 3 or 4 weeks and the problem should "correct itself". Sure. Wait another few weeks until my return period runs out and I am stuck with it. I wasn't taking the chance on it going away because I've never heard of that going away and who knows if they would have even attempted to fix it. I am not trashing Samsung's customer service because I didn't have a chance to really work with them, but it seems to me that telling someone to wait 3 or 4 weeks to see if an issue goes away is not the best advice. I have read other reviews about this TV and other edge lit LED's so I know it can be a crap shoot. Some people get what I got, while others get a perfect panel and some other people get even worse ones. I didn't want to get into the hassle of returning sets until I got a good one so I will go with my original gut feeling and that was to get a Plasma. They both have their advantages, but as a current Plasma owner, I believe it is the superior technology. Just an opinion though. I just wanted to get this information about my experience with this TV out there since so many other people have been kind enough to put their reviews out there for me so I could make an educated decision over the last few years. Thank you for that. Samsung UN55D6000 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV (Black)

I have owned this TV for about a week now. It's my 4th Samsung flat screen. I upgraded from a Samsung LN46A550 to the 46" version of this TV but had to return it because the picture was flickering really bad in 1080i, and to be quite honest the ultra thin frame around the screen makes the TV look smaller than my old TV. So I decided to upgrade to the 55".

The picture quality pretty breath taking! I already notice a huge difference from going to 60hz refresh rate to 120hz. When I watch Avitar it almost looks 3D (even though it's not the 3D version). I haven't quite had time to fully calibrate the settins so the colors are still a little washed out but the clarity is excellent especially for a 55". I'll have to admit the the 46" version of this tv's picture did look better but it was also 9" smaller with the same resolution.

The sound is a lot better than I expected. Usually the sound on flat screen tv's are pretty poor but I'm actually pretty impressed, very clear and deep.

I have noticed some "flashlight" effect on the corners of the TV screen. And I've heard that this bothers a lot of people and can be a problem. I only notice it on very dark scenes or when there are bars on the top and bottom and it's not too obvious. I've heard that if you loosen the screws around the bezel in the back that it will help this problem. But it doesn't bother me too much yet.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase especially for the price. It has to be one of the best 55" LED tvs for under $1600. There are obviously better sets out there but if you're happy with 120hz refresh and not really into the whole 3D craze then this is the tv for you.

Weighing at at around 40lb, this is the thinnest and lightest sub $2000 ,55 inch led tv in the market. I am not sold by the whole 3dtv band wagon and I am particularly glad that Samsung made a model where I can spend the extra $$ on form and display rather than frills like 3dtv or wifi

The goods

+ Good response time

+ Great colors

+ Ultra thin

+ Very light

+ Supports a wide range of inputs (3 usbs, 4 hdmis , vga, ethernet)

+ Controls are intuitive (I guess this would be common to all the latest samsung products)

The bads

- Sound is pretty bad and this is to be expected from any tv that boasts such a thin and light form factor. I am planning to get a separate sound system

- Why in the world would Samsung not include 4 little screws that are required to wall mount the TV (especially with such wall mountable tv!). I am docking a star since Samsung made me waste my time searching for the correct screw in a hardware store

The otherwise 5 star TV gets 4 stars for the bad sound and missing wall mount bolts

I used the Cheetah Wall Mount (APTMM2B) and it is a perfect fit. Although irrelevant to the review of this TV, this wall mount just about managed to fit this TV, anything bigger would have not worked (just a heads up)'

Camping Stove Griddle - camping stove griddle

It's perfectly designed for the EvenTemp 3 burner stove and fits in the stove for storeage exactly. The design of the grease tray is also nice since there is no more soaking up bacon grease with tongs and paper towel, it just runs off into the seperate grease container. However since it was designed for the EvenTemp 3 burner stove it doesn't appear that it will work with any other stove, it might but I doubt it. Coleman EvenTemp Full-Sized Griddle Stove

I was looking for something easy and light to use in bear country. Forest service regulations require stowing cooking stoves inside at night and whenever leaving the camp site in these areas. My old stove was a two burner commonly found that was much heavier. This stove meets our cooking and ease of use goals. The 3 burner stove is much better at heating a griddle evenly. The controls are a bit touchy to get to low, but not difficult to use. The electric ignitor is a nice feature.

great stove. good flame control. will fit a full sized frying pan. the optional griddle is nice but i would prefer anadized aluminium over the teflon it comes in. i took this on a fall trip up north michigan. temps were about 30 degrees. the stove performed nicely. i really like this stove and would highly recomend to anyone!

Used it for the first time this weekend. The newer design works out really well with the removable grease tray. Fit the stove perfectly and appeared to heat evenly allowing for cooking of larger amounts of food for the family. I would recommend this item as a great accessory to the stove. Fits easily in the case with the stove. - Camping Stove Griddle'

Gelish Top Coat - uv gel, soak off gel

I am a professional nail tech, and decided to purchase the Gelish UV soak off gel polish at home, what can I say? I love this stuff. The top coat has an awesome shine, that has lasted through an entire weekend of cleaning my house. It's smoother than CND's Shellac top coat, and has the same cure time too (in a UV light). I am excited to see that as a nail tech, I have more than one choice of soak off systems. I will surely be purchasing this product for client use as well. Gelish soak off sealer gel top it off

I recently purchased Gelish Foundation, Top Coat, and color polishes to start doing my own gel nails at home. I could not be more happy! To save money, I did not purchase the pH bond or the finishing cleanser. Before the Foundation, make sure your nails are clean and DRY. Then, apply a VERY THIN coat of Foundation. After curing the Top Coat, make sure to finish your nails off with 70-99% alcohol or they will be tacky. Enjoy!

Shine is perfect and application is easy.

This product self levels so it is very forgiving

to the inexperienced nail polisher.

Requires UV lamp treatment time as do all Gelish

polish components.

No bad smell...highly recommend.

This polish is what they were using in the salon when i went to have my nails done every 3 weeks. I then decided I could do this at home myself and purchased the items needed. Best decision ever and easy to use. You do not need an expensive LED lamp to cure the gel. I purchased a 36 watt lamp for around $45 and it works great. This polish is awesome!!

I've had both Shellac and Gelish on my nails, done in a Salon by a "professional." Both looked great, but the big difference is in how long it lasted. Shellac lasted between two and three weeks on my nails and would probably have lasted longer, but my nails grow incredibly fast and it looks funny having no product on the growth area. Gelish on the other hand, didn't last a week before it was lifting and peeling. I'm not rough on my nails, so was really disappointed. I purchased the Shellac products and have started to do my nails at home. Gelish is cheaper, but as my mother always said, you get what you pay for. - Soak Off Gel - Uv Gel - Harmony Gelish - Gelish'

Portable Printer - bluetooth, inkjet

We bought this little gem to take to Europe. First impressions are very favorable. It's small, reliable, and prints beautifully. At just over four pounds, it's perfect for travel.

The little Bluetooth adaptor also works very well. Reading the manual (!), I discovered it is possible to mount the adapter permanently inside the printer so that it's not exposed and doesn't need attachment every time it is used. This is a simple procedure, and enhances the usefulness of the Bluetooth capability that is all but de rigueur when traveling. The installation / setup information is also in the electronic manual that comes on the CD.

But as good as the printer is, it does not come with (nor does Canon offer) a case of any kind. I found the perfect solution - from Case-Mate: go to http://www.case-[...] and buy the 'Glovez 15"' sleeve (like a large envelope with a velcro closure / flap). It comes in an assortment of colors and is a skin-tight (but very workable) fit in the 'length' direction. When inserted, the printer doesn't take up every bit of the case in the 'width' direction, meaning there is just enough room to also accommodate the cord and AC brick. Throw these in, close the flap, and you're always ready to roll.

Best part: this 'Glovez' sleeve is only $9.99 + $3.99 S/H, and gets to you in a few days. It's not bulky - just what one wants to protect the printer but not take up room. (As an aside, the Case-Mate Glovez 13" [for the MacBook 13" and Air] fits the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 perfectly).

March 8, 2011: Came back (for the first time) to look over some of my reviews, and thought I would update this one. We took the printer to Europe for a month in the summer of 2008 (and, as noted by one of the commenters, it does indeed have a built-in usable voltage range of 100 - 240V, 50 - 60 Hz, so one needs only an adapter for local outlets, and not a transformer of any kind). It performed flawlessly then, and continues to do so today.

We take it everywhere. It goes in the bag wherever we go on vacation, or on business, and has never missed a beat. It sets up in an instant as soon as you get to your hotel room - so easy to use. As stated before, I highly recommend the internally-mounting bluetooth adapter; it's never in the way, impossible to lose, and reliable. OK: Canon gets a small demerit for not building it in in the first place, but... With today's wireless-built-in portable PCs and other devices, it's a snap to hook up to the Internet within moments of arriving at your hotel, then send maps, proposals, anything else, etc. to the printer with no cables whatever. Especially good when both of us have our laptops out at a hotel room: we can both send jobs to the printer across the room without getting in each other's way. It's quick, reliable, durable, with various 'quality levels' available - and I highly recommend it for mobile use.

I know Canon also makes a battery that 'bolts-on' to the back of this printer. For my application, the additional $100 wasn't worth the extra bulk - to achieve a freedom from the electric grid that I didn't need. But if you conduct business in your pickup, or out in the field, it would certainly make sense: put the printer on the passenger seat and produce a customer invoice, etc. on the spot.

I seldom wax so enthusiastic over a product, and have been known to be excoriatingly critical of poor designs / execution. But Canon hit the nail dead center with this product: if you're in the market for a genuinely useful, rugged, portable printer - get it. You will not regret the decision. Canon PIXMA iP100 Mobile Photo Printer

Bought this to use while traveling, but once I set it up in an inconspicuous spot in the living room (where I spend way too much time with the laptop), I've been using it all the time. Haven't printed photos, but for letters, Web page copies, even maps, quality matches my Epson printers. It's at least as fast as any other home printer I've had. (But yes, it does spit out the pages from the table onto the floor; I attribute that to where I have it placed, and I don't care. I don't have to go upstairs to the desktop printer anymore.)

I use a Mac, which comes with Bluetooth, and bought the adaptor. So no cables, just the print command from the across the room, and I'm in business. I can access all the printer functions, including printer utilities, using Bluetooth -- which I can't with my Epson, which is networked through my Airport router.

Pricey, perhaps, but I've already taken this with me on a long weekend and was happy to be able to print out something I needed. I'll definitely find room in the luggage for this one.....

UPDATE: Still have this printer, and 15 months later, still like it. One hiccup: Upgraded my iBook (Mac OS10.4x) to a MacBookPro (OS10.5x "Leopard") and could not connect to the printer via bluetooth. In May, found a link via a Mac user forum to Canon driver updates, and I'm back in business. Until I did, was able to connect the printer to my Airport Extreme router and still use it. However, restoring bluetooth functionality made my day. Not sure whether Amazon allows links, and it's hard to find on the Canon site. But you should look for the ip100sosmosx100us driver package. A google search will bring it up. Perhaps newer printers already have these drivers with the install software. If not, give it a try.

I purchased the Canon iP100 so I could have a small, compact printer in my travel trailer. This one fills the bill perfectly. Setup was easy and it worked right out of the box. Print speed and quality is excellent. The only flaw is that it occassionally feeds multiple sheets of paper at one time. Fanning the paper before placing it in the feel tray helps rectify this.

This Printer is great except that when I load multiple sheets, the rollers and feeder mechanism grab 5 or 6 sheets at once. I double checked the setting and ran a diagnostic. I also tried different paper types/quality, fanning and pre-sorting the paper, bending the paper, and nothing worked. Every time the print job reached the second or third page, 5 or 6 sheets would be jammed through. This issue makes printing more than 2 sheets at once nearly impossible. Otherwise great printer. Apparently this is a common problem as it is addressed on the Canon website. However, I implemented the suggested solutions and I still could not print more than 2 pages without the printer jamming, thus I am returning the printer.
