Invicta Watch - blue, invicta watch

I bought this watch off Amazon because I wanted a nice looking watch and didn't currently have one. I got it when it was still selling for $59.99 Some things people might want to know before they purchase.

At 44x13mm this watch certainly has a good amount of heft to it. It's not a problem for me but if you don't want a large watch then look elsewhere.

This watch is very classy looking and I am very satisfied with it's appearance.

It comes with plenty of links for your sizing pleasure.

Yes as some reviewers noted, the instructions are 1 page and are just mostly just illustrations showing you how to use the functions of this watch. This also is not a problem for me because this is not a complex watch and the illustrations show you everything you need to know.

The reason I give this watch 4 stars instead of 5 has to do with the bezel that other reviewers have touched upon. I spent several minutes playing with it and here is the deal: Once you take the little plastic sheet off the face the bezel can rotate counter clockwise in clicks all the way around the face. The problem is that it is mis-alligned. The whole thing is off by half a click. It's not really noticeable unless you are really looking for it and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if the other reviewers hadn't noticed it, but I wanted the triangle on the bezel to be at the 12 o clock position and it is between 2 clicks. And yes the bezel has some play to it as others have noted.

I'm still keeping the watch because it's hardly noticeable and I like the everything else about the watch. Overall I encourage people to look at this as a $60-$70 watch not a $400+ watch and it is a good value. Invicta Men's 6621 II Collection Chronograph Stainless Steel Blue Dial Watch

I just received the Invicta Men's II Collection chronograph stainless steel watch yesterday and was a little disappointed. It would've been a great piece to have but didn't quite live up to my expectations. At first glance, the watch is beautiful. It has a nice weight to it and the bracelet feels exceptionally nice. The thickness of the watch is good but the one that I got, the numbered outside bezel of the watch was misaligned. The bezel is fixed so there's no way that you can adjust this yourself in order to make it line up correctly with the internal face of the watch. I expected a watch with such a high list price to not have quality issues as obvious as this (I didn't pay the list price of course). I read about other Invicta watch reviews in Amazon after I purchased this watch and I was mainly concerned about the watch's ability to accurately keep time. I tried to set up the time correctly and learn the basics of the watch to see if I can do a 24-hours test run on the watch to see if it's up to par with accuracy. It was able to pass the test but unfortunately, I had to figure out a lot of the watch's functionality and adjustments myself since this one only came with a single page, photocopied, all-in-one instruction page (not even a complete manual). I was wondering if I actually got a replica and not the real deal - I even looked it up at the Invicta website and it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere there (maybe an old model). At the end of the day, the fact that the bezel was misaligned, I still didn't feel comfortable giving it as a gift to someone so I decided to return it. I would've been glad to do an even exchange but when I submitted the request to Amazon, they were only able to do a refund. Oh well, I'll try to wait to see if I can get another one for the original price I got it for. Right now, it seems that the price went up $10.00 more than what I originally paid for.

:: -----|| Update ||----- ::

Thanks to the review from C.P. from VA and I was able to get the bezel free. I'm still not too happy with the bezel's craftsmanship (it has some play into it unlike the bezel from the Invicta Pro Diver that I got) but at least, it's functional. I've played with watches in the same (original) price range as this watch and the bezel shouldn't have as much play as it should. Overall, I like the watch enough that I'm willing to keep it but I don't feel that the MSRP reflects the overall quality of the item that I got - the price that I paid for is more realistic from what I gather.

After watching the presentations of Invicta on TV, i decided to get this watch because of its large size and very practical pricing. The watch is actually larger than i thought it would be, and about the most my wrist can handle. The main reason i got it was that i am far sighted and wanted a nice looking watch where I would not have to put my reading glasses on to tell time. There is good and bad. The main dials i can see without glasses, as well as the day of the week and chronograph minutes. However, I cannot see the day of the month in the little window as it is too small. With my glasses on, of course, I can see everything perfectly.

Now here is the interesting part. The Invicta is a very impressive, albeit large, watch. When i went to the jewelry store to have some links taken out, the jeweler thought I had paid several hundred dollars for it, and my adult son estimated about $500; it holds its own very well in appearance with upscale watches (e.g. Breitling). When i tell people what i actually paid they are blown away, and i still can't believe it, given the quality and appearance.

So the good is: very impressive, dressy and classy, and big, most cost effective, a nice gift.

the bad: big, may be too big for small wrists (not for a child), and if you have to wear reading glasses, you STILL won't be able to see the day of the month without putting them on.

In summary: a very nice, albeit big, dress watch, that comes off as being worth hundreds of dollars. Glamour for the budget conscious.

Ah yes, for those who don't know, if you register online you get a 5 year extended warranty. Also, the instructions downloaded from the web site are much nicer than those that are packed with the watcy. - Chronograph - Invicta - Blue - Invicta Watch'

Cable Management - very useful, surge protector

Overpriced? You bet! While paying $30.00 for a cheap, plastic box seems like a huge waste of money, it's well worth it to clear up the spaghetti mess of cables that pile up under our desks, entertainment centers, etc. I bought $120 worth of these units and don't regret it at all.

All in all, the CableBox is just a great idea and, quite frankly, one I'd had myself years ago. Glad somebody finally put a product like this on the market. It's far better than trying to tie up the cables and make it look passable. Just hide the suckers! And if you're a Mac person, the boxes have an "Applesque" feel to them and go quite well with iMacs, MacBooks, etc. Bluelounge CableBox - Cable management box - black

This really cleaned up the space under my desk and eliminated all of the dust traps under there and made it a LOT easier to vacuum under there without sucking up any cords. It is well designed, but I'm not sure the high price is justified.

When I first received the product, I was surprised at the size as it seemed a bit large for what I needed. Silly me. Once I plugged in all of my devices into the power strip, three of which have large power blocks and long cords, everything fit just right. It's sturdy enough that I can place other peripherals on top of it such as my external hard drive. The only improvement I would make is to add rubber feet so it won't slip around. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it will last you forever.

I keep my laptop on my kitchen counter, and between the power supply, USB hub, audio cables, and cables to connect to a second monitor, I had a giant nest of cables on display. I found this as a solution and and very pleased with the size of the box and it's ease of use as a cable clutter problem solver. There's plenty of room inside for a power strip and cables, and the size of the cord openings on the side allow for everything from small audio cables to larger HDMI and power cables. My only reason for a 4-star review is that the plastic of the box is a somewhat smoky-looking black, and not a high-gloss plastic such as the back of an iPhone 3GS or perhaps on the bezel of a TV. This would make the aesthetics more pleasing and make it seem like it's worth the relatively high cost.

I purchased this a number of years ago, which I wrote about: [...]. It's just a box with two holes in it, but it actually works and has survived two moves. The device comes with a bunch of tie twists or zip ties (forgot which) which you can do yourself a favor and throw away (mine are still taped to the cablebox), and instead get a bunch of CableBuddies or velcro zip ties.

Use this in places where you cannot hide the cabling. For instance, companies sell clamp-on or screw-mount cableways (or you can DIY a pegboard) and almost all power supplies have screw mounts for wall or desk mounting so you probably should use those over these on office desks and plain tables. Also, avoid this if you have only a few electronics since companies like Belkin make designer power supplies for hiding cables and a good set of CableBuddies will allow you to shorten and organize a few cables

However in places like exposed TV mount setups, kitchen offices, and the like, the cablebox really comes in handy if you have a lot of electornics. The box is quite big and needs to be for it to work well. If it is too big for you then that area would have been better served with cable ties and cord organizers.

The CableBox is both simple and thoughful which, in my opinion, is the hallmark for good design. I am docking a star because my white one yellowed over a number of years due to sun exposure and heat (of the power supplies). I'm docking another star for the value--I'd personally pay more with a higher quality plastic, or the price of these should be less so you can buy tons. If it were made in the USA, I'd understand the premium. Also be aware that since I wrote my review, these are also available in more colors than black and white and also in smaller sizes (though see the limited utility above). So consider those before purchasing. I do recommend these and the Bluelounge brand, so don't let my three stars discourage you from making a purchase (even this one). You are better with one of these organizing cable clutter than without.

I LOVE this box. In fact, I bought three of them and couldn't be happier. The rat's nest next to my printer is now hidden away in a neat white box. Sure, you have cables sticking out of either end, but the unsightly clutter is gone. After extensive research, this product seemed to be the best option for a residence, where you don't want to attach boxes to the walls or furniture. I wish I had found it years ago.

The design is clean and beautiful. The pieces fit together snugly. One is currently hiding a large surge protector, 9 cords and 3 power supplies. In my mind, the $30 is a bargain. Looking at that corner with its jumble of wires (even though all were neatly coiled and wrapped) caused a great deal of angst. (Yes, I know they have meds for that, thank you.) Now, everything in contained, and I'm no longer embarrassed to show people my home office, which is good since we're listing our home for sale and prospective buyers will be tromping through.

I was kinda wary about buying just a box for $25. The fact that with a Prime account I could get free two day shipping and it saved me the effort of few hours trip via public transit to Ikea for a similar item won me over. It's a sturdy box that the top isn't in danger of popping off if you have thick not easily bended cabling rolled up in it. The tangled web of cords was driving me batty just thinking about and now I can't stop peeking under the desk to admire the box.

It's a good buy if you either can't get to an Ikea or like me just can't be bothered. I don't regret the purchase in the least. - Cable Organizers - Surge Protector - Organization - Very Useful'

Lifestride - boots, antique brown wide calf boots

and is a decent boot if you're on your feet all day. It looks a little cheap up close but for a basic boot with jeans, it's great. Your feet will sweat in these with the synthetic cushioning and they do seem to scuff really easily. The wrapping on the heel is torn just from driving and getting scuffed on the floor mats. 3-hole Punch - punches, office supplies

It punches three holes into paper, so that I can put said paper into a binder. It does exactly what it says. The motion is smooth, and I can stack more than 1 page at a time. I don't stack more than 10, because that's crazy talk. Charles Leonard Inc. 3 Hole Adjustable Paper Punch, 12 Sheet Capacity, Black, 1 per Box (033)

I just got this today. I have been waiting for this to arrive so I can hole punch all of my school papers because my professors never hand us papers that have been punched already. This basic 3 hole puncher gets the job done. It gets harder to punch with more papers but I never have never punched more than 5-6 sheets at a time. Several sheets at a time work great. I will update the review later if anything changes.

This hole punch is so inexpensive it's probably worth the money you spend on it. I bought it a few days ago and am now sending it back because it didn't meet my expectations. It only punches about 5 or 6 sheets of paper at a time and the holes are closer to the edge than I would prefer; also, I don't know if it is a problem with my binder, the holes on the top and bottom are slightly too close together to give it a nice fit. If you only need to use it occasionally it seems sturdy enough to last. I am going to try something a little higher quality.

Nice quality materials and weight, feels like office quality. Smooth operation and easy to line up sheets. I am a student, and use this all the time for class materials and notes. Will consider other products from this brand. - Punches - Office Supplies - Hole Punch - 3-hole Punch'

Enhancement - templates, enhancement

I've never tried anything like doing inlays. I purchased this set on Amazon and the first time I tried to do a inlay was great. My first atempt didn't do to well on cutting out the heart inlay, my second atempt went great I cofident the more I do the better I'll get and the more I'll enjoy it. SO FAR IT'S A BLAST I WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND ANYONE THINKING ABOUT TRYING TO DO INLAYS TO PURCHASE THIS KIT.

Gary Milescraft 1207 Router Design Inlay Kit

This really is a very easy jig to set up and operate. It does make very nice designs and snug fitting inlays. The provided templates do quite a few different patterns. The one thing I would like to see Milescraft come out with is a blank template that you can cutout your own pattern. They suggest to make a copy of their template to produce your own and I would much rather spend the time doing inlays than getting my own blank to fit perfectly into the holder.

I absolutely love this inlay kit. It takes no time at all to master and create consistent, beautiful results. Very easy to comprehend instructions. If you're new to inlay in your wood crafts, this is a "must have" item.

many designs to choose from. or make up your own as I have. about the only fault is there is on place on the back of the black frame to put 2 sided tape, if you have a smaller piece you want to work with. would also be kinda nice if there was a bigger version of this. all in all ya can't complain to much about this tool.

I was aware of this product for sometime but brushed it off as another of the many, many items advertised for the shop that never performed up to their claims. But I finally succumbed and purchased it from Amazon and now I am so happy that I did. This little item does all that they claim, and more. I have used it on the lids of some of my custom-built boxes and does it ever enhance each and every box I make! I just love the way that it works and would recommend this product to any and all craftsmen that are interested in enhancing whatever it is that they are fabricating. As you can see I just love it.

this is fine for larger pieces of wood, but there is no way of determining center lines for smaller pieces as the inlay templates are all offset. (ie. to use the heart inlay) 1st response from customer service assumed I was an idiot and told me I needed to take the box lid off the box first (duh!!) never recieved a reply from them when I Clarified my original question.

By the time you are done making the elaborate fixturing they recommend, you may as well just make your own templates and use the Whiteside inlay kit, as it is faster and you give yourself many more options.

product is a good idea but poorly executed.

Customer service is piss poor at best.

Produce was received on time and in great shape. I have'nt actually cut out anything or etched anything yet, but have been practicing when time permits. I purchased this for a special project when I remodel my wife's kitchen cabinets. I had trouble understanding just how to trace the design you wanted...but figured it out. So I'm ready when time and money permits my kitchen cabinet remodel program. Very simple to use once you fit the design system into your brain.

I bought this item twice. About two years between purchases. Each time I couldn't get it to work. I wanted it to work, and the video on the website makes it look easy, but I just couldn't get the hang of it. - Enhancement - Christmas - Boxes - Templates'

Panasonic - 720p, lcd

I just received this television and am very happy with it for multiple reasons:

1. It's the perfect size for our guest bedroom (approx. 10x12). We tried a 42" plasma but it seemed to take up too much space on the dresser and dominated the room.

2. In my opinion, the picture is better than the plasma we tried (42" Samsung). Plasmas have darker blacks, but the colors just don't pop like they do on the LCD televisions we have (we also have a 52" Samsung LCD in the family room). FYI, we have a 42" Panasonic plasma in our bedroom which I like, so maybe Panasonic just makes a better TV in this price range. Who knows?

3. Set-up was incredibly easy. 8 screws to attach the base to the TV and you're done with that part. The TV leads you through a set-up procedure when you turn it on the first time: setting the language, date/time, selecting/naming input sources, etc.

4. The iPod/iPhone plug-in is a nice add-on. Basically, it's a free throw in and if nothing else, you can use it as a charger for your iPod/iPhone even if you don't want to play music with it.

I would go so far as to recommend this TV for a main television given the overall picture quality and ease of use. For the price, this one is going to be tough to beat. Panasonic TC-L37X2 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with iPod Dock

This Panasonic is an excellent LCD TV. I was considering a 42 inch plasma, but my wife found a nice solid oak TV armoire for our new house. The TC-L37X2 was just the right size, so I went with it. The picture is crisp with great color. My only negative comment would be that the internal speakers are not very loud (they still sound pretty decent). I usually play audio through my surround system anyway, so it's not much of an issue. I would definitely recommend using an external sound system in conjunction with this TV. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I was looking for an affordable TV for the bedroom and stumbled upon this model while surfing Amazon. All the research I did on flat panel TV's indicated that Panasonic is well respected in this arena. So after doing a little more research on this particular model and discovering that Amazon sold it for the lowest price I could find anywhere, I purchased this a week ago and I couldn't be happier.

This is a great TV for the price. I used component cables and the picture is fantastic. The iPod dock is awesome as well. Not only can you listen to the music stored on your iPod, you can also watch videos and movies stored on your iPod - bye, bye DVD player. Other reviews note poor sound quality, but it is not that bad. Sound for just watching the TV is fine, but if you are looking to crank up the tunes played through your iPod you will be disappointed because they are just average, little TV speakers. However, as a TV for my bedroom that only gets turned on in the morning for an hour or so it is a great set at a great price.

This was my first time buying a TV through Amazon so I was a little nervous. I selected Super Saver shipping and expected to receive it the following week, but it was delivered the day after it shipped from Amazon. I placed my order on Tuesday, it shipped Wednesday, and was delivered on Thursday. I am completely satisfied with Amazon's price, shipping, and the TV itself. So much that my next flat panel will be another Panasonic. If you are looking for a second TV you will not be disappointed with this model.

I recently bought this Panasonic LCD for use in our extra bedroom as a second TV, mainly for watching movies and playing games, and I could not be happier. It took some tweaking to get the picture how I wanted it, but once I found the right settings the TV looks absolutely phenomenal, better in fact that my 42in 1080p Philips LCD. For a TV this size 1080p is not at all necessary, so paying the extra money is a waste. For the price it will be tough to find a better picture than what this TV provides. It is worth mentioning that, like most TVs, the stock speakers are not up to snuff. I ended up picking up a Panasonic-brand sound bar to go with this TV and I am glad I did. Now I have great sound to match the great picture, and both items were fairly cheap and work perfectly in a smaller space. The iPod Dock is a nice feature, but again, you probably won't want to listen to music through the stock TV speakers, though it is still a convenient way to charge your iPod if you have one.

To summarize, this is a great TV for the price and size and works well as either a main or second TV. Definitely look into buying a separate sound system if you want the full home theater experience, or even decent sound. And if you need HDMI cables make sure to order some cheap ones online. Never spend more than $10 on an HDMI cable. That is all.

i have a 1 bedroom apartment and this 37 inch is perfect for it. Also I think Panasonic quality is at least equal

to Samsung. A 37 inch LCD tv is at the point where if you go to a 42, it will cost at least 150 to 200 dollars more for a panasonic or samsung. (best quality brands in my opinion) this TV has great sound, I like everything about this TV. - Panasonic - Hdtv - 720p - Lcd'

Motion-activate - motion sensor, led light

Wow...what an awesome little light! After finding a number of similar lights on the web with "so-so" reviews I stumbled across this one. Reviews were pretty good and not too expensive so I decided to take a chance. Turns out this is a great light. It's well made, has 4 D-size batteries which are easy to replace, it looks good, very easy to mount (2 screws) and tilts and rotates. No...it doesn't turn night into day but it provides more than enough light when coming home after dark. The motion sensor is very sensitive and has a fairly wide detection angle. I have my light mounted near my front door and pointed straight at the door handle but when my foot hits my front steps the light comes on. The light does not come on in daytime like some of the other lights I saw so you don't waste the batteries during the daytime. The manufacturer claims that alkaline batteries will last up to 3 years but if they last just one year I will be more than satisfied. The light has a couple of duration settings so I'm sure the 3 year battery life is based on a limited number of the shortest light duration setting. Dorcy 41-1071 LED Wireless Motion Sensor Flood-Lite

I live "in the middle of no-where" on the Big Island of Hawaii where you cannot see your hand in front of your face at night sometimes! I'm off-grid and wiring lights is a big deal. The bedroom is about 75 feet from the rest of the house so I installed it in the pathway pointing toward the kitchen. I used the template included in the box to locate the 2 screws, installed 3 rechargeable D batteries, set the light switches to bright and to stay on 2 minutes and waited until dark.

Holy Canoly, it lit the entire pathway plus easily 30 to 40 feet on either side of the path. I absolutely LOVE this light! I can envision using this light all over my one acre property outside as well as some areas inside. I think I'll place one above my headboard so that if I hear a noise, the entire bedroom will be lit inside; no more reaching for the flashlight! Maybe above the toilet! Since I'll definitely be ordering more, I'm seriously thinking I'll be using one as a flashlight. A SUPER flashlight for sure! omg...I love this light and for $20 you just can't beat it! Thank you Dorcy and Amazon.

I purchased two of these lights as they look identical to another name branded light on Amazon which I loved so I decided to try it as it was more affordable. The unit is almost identical in fit and function to another light on Amazon and it was a breeze to set up. The light is very white and fairly bright for a cordless variant. It's not going to be as bright as a 110 volt motion floodlight but it is perfect for those dark sides of our house where no outlet or light is present to hook up a motion sensing floodlight. The sensitivity is very good and they seem well built. I actually dropped one from about 10 feet while trying to install it and aside from a few scratches, it was fine. I did have to downgrade one star as one of the two units I purchased had a broken nut to connect the base to the light...maybe from shipping? Anyhow, it was a fairly easy fix using my own small nut & bolt so I didn't have to deal with a return and delays. Overall I have recommended this light to others who need a motion light wherea cordless light is ideal.

The other night my wife and I were quietly talking in one of the usually unused back bedrooms around 9:30 PM when we heard the distinct tone of a cell phone right outside the french door! It is a shock to discover how easily your space, your life, can be invaded. That only happens to other people, in bad neighborhoods!

I immediately started looking at motion triggered lights on Amazon hoping the technology has improved in the ten years since I bought and laboriously installed two different lights with totally unsatisfactory results. The Dorcy, especially at the relatively low cost, had good ratings here so, I ordered one from Amazon. It is a nice size and looks nice. Set up was absurdly easy, especially compared to the expensive wired-in units. I mounted it temporarily then set out to test it at night. The detection is spot on from the sides I would expect an intruder. As others have stated, the light is startlingly, surprisingly bright! If I were an intruder hit by it, I would certainly take off. I'll update this review after 6 months use.

EDIT

I wouldn't change my previous review. Still very satisfied. And the batteries are still going after 6 months.

The sensor works when it wants, I first installed it and it worked perfectly, next day

didnt work at all, so I took it down and put right next to my body and then it worked

I have a very dark driveway no porch light and walked right up to it, DIDNT WORK!!!!

Call me crazy but I am gonna try another, will see what happens, will keep you informed

WEEK LATER/ got a new one!

so far so good, happy this one works

I just received the 2 Dorcy LED wireless motion-sensor floodlights I ordered from Amazon last week. They arrived in an extremely timely fashion, as always!

I needed the floodlights to light up a dark, treacherous area on the lower area of the front steps that go down a steep hill to the street in front of my home. I also wanted the area around my car lit as well. It not only helps with parallel parking on a dark street at night, but also helps to deter car break-ins.

I wanted a battery-powered light, because in addition to having no electricity down where I wanted to mount the lights, the entire North-facing front yard is in the shade from about October to March, so solar is weak, at best, in the winter.

These lights were much better than I expected. There are 2 settings for both brightness, and length of time the light is on. Choosing the lower settings lengthens battery life. The light is so bright, even on the lower setting, that I really could have gotten by with just one light instead of two. It throws off a wide, bright swath of bluish-white light, and those steps and the street below are now much, much brighter and safer.

The sensor is great, too... the slightest motion, even way off to the side, turns on the light, which is exactly what I wanted. There are both a 30-second setting and a 2-minute setting on the time the light stays on. The 30-second works well for my needs, because as long as anything is moving about within range of the sensor, it stays on. Yet shortly after I leave, it turns off.

I mounted them to a large fruit tree near the front steps, down near the street. It was a little tricky, mainly due to the angle of the tree and the steep slope it sits on! But once mounted, the black color of the lights was perfect... they don't look out-of-place, and in fact, almost look like part of the tree, from a short distance away. In order to use the template to mark where the holes should be drilled for the mounting screws, I couldn't use a pen or pencil on the dark-colored tree bark. So, what I did was pre-punch 2 small holes where the screw marks were on the template, and then I used white Liquid Paper to mark the drilling spots. You really do have to get the screws just right, which takes a little doing, especially up in a tree. But it's worth it, because when it's time to change the batteries, it's easy to lift the light assembly off the mounting screws.

I'll know more later about how long the batteries last, but barring defective batteries (the lights take 3 regular "D" batteries), I would expect many months of reliable use. One reviewer said the light didn't go on at first, and after they gave it a little whack, it then worked. Battery-operated things can be like that, sometimes. I gave mine a couple of not-too-hard, open-handed swats, and it perked right up and began working perfectly. ;)

I gave the highest rating to this product because it was not just okay, it was exactly what I was looking for, and functions exactly the way I wanted it to. I hope to buy a couple more in the future, to light up stairway areas and garbage can areas (we have naughty raccoons) on both sides of the house. Good product! I'm a happy camper. - Led Light - Night-lights - Motion Sensor - Home Security'

Ankle Socks - socks, ankle socks

These Gold Toe socks were a Christmas present for our son. Matt is 6'5" and size 14 shoe. Many of the local stores and sports apparel stores just do not carry extra large socks. In a pinch, (no pun intended) Matt buys and wears socks that are just too small. Additonally these Gold Toe socks are soft on the inside and durable and wash well. If you need extended size socks, these are the socks to look for! Gold Toe Men's Cotton Quarter Athletic Sock, White,10-13 6pack

Finally! A black cotton athletic sock with a short (but not non-existant) cuff. This sock is easy for the older guys to get on and off, but still covers the ankle. I bought these for my 85-year-old step-dad who has trouble putting on the regular-length-cuff of most sport socks. But he still likes the softness of an athletic sock. These socks are just what he needed, and super-comfortable, too.

This is a review for Gold Toe Men's Cotton Quarter Athletic Sock. I purchase these socks based on very good review here.

1. Comfort: These socks are comfortable, soft at first, however after an hour i feel very warm.

2. Material: These socks don't look like it was made from quality cotton. For $18, these socks are not worth the value.

3. Size: I order size 10-13( for shoes size 6 to 12.5). The socks are too large and too loose(my shoes's size is 8). In addition, after the first wash, these stretch a lot. I have Nike , Puma, CK socks and have never had this problem. I think these socks are good for big and tall size ONLY. I don't recommend buying this if you wear shoes size smaller than 9.

Hope my review help you to make better decision.

These are great work socks, enough cushion for work shoes, but not so much they make my shoes tight. Have washed them a number of times now and they are holding up excellently. No fading or balling of fabric.

My wife liked them so much she bought herself some to wear without shoes around the house.

I bought these socks to fit my size 12s. I expected them to be roomy. They were a close fit out of the package. They are not as "tall" as the photo led me to believe. Mine barely reach my ankle. After ONE washing, they barely fit my size 12 EEEE foot. Good luck if you have truly big feet with this product.

"Extended Size" my foot!

I ordered these because another major name brand that I used to buy stopped making quarter socks for those of us with big feet. Having had Gold Toes in the past, I thought they might be pretty good. I've had them for about 5 weeks and they've held up well, but they did shrink quite a bit. I have size 13 feet, and they are just large enough for me after washing. I'm removing a star from an otherwise 5-star review because there's no way these would fit anyone with larger feet, despite the description that they're made for sizes 13-15/16.

5 Stars for Comfort and Price. 10 dollars for 6 pairs of socks is a fantastic price that can hardly be beat. Good quality socks and as comfortable as some high priced socks I think. I wear a size 13 shoe and I got the 6-12 size, and they couldn't be more right in size. If you wear a 13 and lower get the size I did, but anything higher than the 13 I suggest the tall size. If your looking for good cheap socks, get these you won't regret it.

My husband wears size 11.5 4E shoes and XL socks. He rarely mentions the stuff I buy him, so I was surprised to hear how much he really likes these socks. They look and wear much better than the bagged socks I bought at Sears and WalMart (all they had in men's XL size). Now he wants them in black, too! - Men - Ankle Socks - Socks - Comfort'

Glass Shelves - audio-video shelving, glass tv component shelf

I just put up this unit and installation was easy (came with instructions unlike other poster's experience). The unit is well made, strong, and has ample room for running cables through the center channel and access holes. The only drawback is the depth of the shelves are somewhat short for components that are deep and/or require additional depth due to larger cable plugs (like HDMI cables).

I plan to make some wooden covers (to sit on top of the glass shelves) to provide the extra depth I need.

I would recommend that you simply measure the depth of your components first, including the length of your longest cable plug to ensure this unit will work for you. Otherwise, you will have the front feet of your audio/video components dangling off the front edge of the shelves. Cheetah Mounts AS3B 3 Component Shelf Wall Mount Bracket for LCD, LED, Plasma TV Components

If your trying to figure out what component shelf to buy look no further my friends. Before I purchase anything I usually click on Amazon.com to get individuals reviews/opinions. Let me tell you, if you are in the market for a Component shelf for your lcd look no further. This is a beautiful, attractive 3 tray shelf which I put my Bose Stereo and Xbox 360 on.

Both components have plenty of room to set on their individual tray and wire management is not difficult at all. When sitting away from my stand I do not see any wires which is very important to me. The other thing I would recommend to anyone that is in the market for something like this. Do 'NOT' place it under your flat screen tv! Why you might ask? The reason for this is when I'm watching a movie on my flat screen tv all I want to see in my 'field of view' is the tv and not a 3 tray shelf with electronic components!

I've seen so many customer images with their component shelfs under their beautiful flat screen tvs and under their tvs they have this big, honking shelf!

Trust me, you will enjoy the movie that you are watching more if all that is in front of you is the movie and not anything else that is going to distract you.

This shelf stands in the corner of my room and looks very attractive I must add. All my friends and family also complement this stand when they first enter my room.

So, there you have it. Just buy it instead of pulling your hair out trying to figure out which one to buy...

Not too difficult to put together. The cable trough down the back is a bit small for 3 shelfs worth of components. Power cables won't fit at all and just go down the side. But I really like it. Well worth the money. Looks great on the wall.

***UPDATE*****

A very nice lady from Cheetah Mounts called me about this issue and was able to offer a simple solution. Use a hair dryer or some other source of heat to warm the plastic and it is easier to remove. Thanks for the great support and I would buy from this company in the future.

As one of the other reviews said the plastic on these shelves is EXTREMLEY hard to remove. My wife and I spent almost an hour (with a razor blade)to get the plastic film off of one shelf. We decided to leave it on the others. The system was fairly easy to put together and easy to hang on the wall.

The shelves themselves are great, they look amazing, I love the style, the ease of assembly and mounting, everything.

One major problem, the shelves are nowhere near large enough to hold anything substantial, neither my cable box, nor my stereo receiver fit on the shelves. These are specifically outined in the description of the item. Should I have measured before purchasing, of course I should have, but I don;t see how the description can be seen as accurate in this regard.

Pros:

1. Looks nice.

2. Sturdy.

3. Functional.

4. Provides a good solution for those in need of wall mounted components.

5. Best price for this type of product.

Cons:

1. Will cause you the most frustration any product will ever cause you in this price range, I promise!

2. The plastic wrapping on the glass has to be pealed off like skin after a sunburn, you will be cursing aloud after the first side of the first pane, by the third piece of glass you will have wished you never bought the product and likely be needing psychological counseling.

3. The threads on the bolts were damaged making it impossible to start the nut. This was the case 3/4 times. If you don't have an expensive re-threading kit like I do, forget it!

Good luck, I hope you have a better experience.

I'm a recently separated woman, and with elbow tendonitis, and arthritis in my hands, I was in the market for a great looking, easy set-up for my new 40" tv components.

While the set-up instructions are minimal, I have enough know-how, and tools to do the job. Also, I am under 5' tall. With my 14 year old daughter helping me to get it on the wall, it mounted in a jiffy, and it looks great! (Yes, we mounted the tv by ourselves, too).

As far as the cable management goes, I find that, since it is only attached at the top, if I pull it slightly away from the wall at the bottom, it's easy enough to get cables through without having to thread them. There seems to be plenty of room for everything I have: 2 HDMI, 2 optical, numerous power, several speaker cords...you get the idea.

I am considering it, or the 2 shelf unit for the livingroom tv. That's a 47".

This is the information I was looking for when I searched for the right shelves. I hope this helps! :) - Tv Mounts - Glass Tv Component Shelf - Audio-video Shelving - Home Theater Component Shelf'

Family Entertainment - family entertainment, natal

The xbox 360 Kinect with 4 GB. is what the original arcade version should have been, and is definitely worth its $300 price tag.

10 new features of this model are:

1. New Valhalla chip - hopefully improved design to prevent RRoD issue, but tech. reviews noted that the Jasper chip in the older Elite model runs cooler

2. WiFi N - this is the newest wifi standard that is 12X faster (up to 600 Mbits/ sec) than wifi G; you'll need a Wifi N router to get the max. speed

3. digital optical audio port (if your sound system is separate from your TV, then you'll need this to get full 5.1 surround sound)

4. 4 GB of flash memory (although 1.1 GB is used by the game system, but 0.3 GB can be reclaimed by deleting 4 game demos)

5. 5 USB ports (2 in front & 3 in back)

6. slimmer design with side vents (to prevent overheating)

7. dedicated port for Kinect with demo game (also $50 cheaper than buying Kinect separately from Xbox)

8. only 1 year of warranty (the only negative; older Elite models had 3 yrs.)

9. USB flash drive support (this was a xbox software update released in April 2010)

10. ESPN video streaming (will be included if you are a Gold member, $50/ yr.; should be available about Nov. 2010)

Slim 4 GB vs. 250 GB hard drive:

I bought the 4 GB system over the model with 250 GB hard drive because the xbox now supports game saves/ installs/ downloads and pic/ audio/ video downloads to USB flash drives. It supports 1-2 USB flash drives with 1-16 GB memory (using a 16 GB drive, 1.6 GB is used for formatting). Saving games and media to the USB drives is recommended since loading games and media will be much faster (reading memory is faster than reading hard drive) and more reliable (flash memory rarely fails, unlike hard drives); even the xbox live director recommended using USB drives for storage. If you have such a huge appetite for videos downloads and game demos that 32 GB can not accomodate, then you can always upgrade later with the 250 GB hard drive that will be sold in November; note that the older xbox hard drives are NOT compatible with the slim models. Installing xbox 360 games and game demos on the flash drives is no problem; xbox will ask you which drive to install the game. However, I can not verify if you can install older xbox games like Halo on the flash drive. The only xbox game I have is Halo 2, which does not install on flash. This problem may be specific to Halo 2 because even xbox live does not have Halo 2 for sale, which means Halo 2 is not supported without a xbox hard drive. I'm suspecting that any older games listed on xbox live is enabled for flash installation, but if they're not listed then you'll need a xbox hard drive. This is annoying but not a big issue since there are only a few older xbox games that you may want to play.

While the concept of natural body movements translating into character's actions sounds intuitive, the implementation of this idea in games has eluded many game developers. Too much motion will tire out the gamer, repetitive motion will bore the gamer, and complicated motions can not be successfully detected by the controllers. I'll compare motion controllers for all 3 systems below.

Usage Comparison:

The Wii was wildly popular when it was released due to its novelty, however 4 years later, few Wii game innovations have appeared causing Nintendo to lose market share in the past year. The PS3 Move is more accurate than the Wii since the Move tracks motion in 3-D space while the Wii tracks motion in 2-D space (2 dimensional, like paper) and analyzes that data to interpret 3-D movements. The light globe on the PS3 Move looks cool initially, but the bright light becomes glaringly annoying soon, especially in a dark room. Both the Wii and PS3 motion controllers are less integrated to the console's navigations and functions than the Xbox Kinect. The Kinect allows users to say commands and motion gestures to navigate menus, browse online, interact with avatars, and play media content. Winner: Xbox Kinect.

Price Comparison:

The Wii system ($200) includes the 3 controllers (Wiimote, nunchuk, & motionPlus) needed for 1 player, but costs another $40-80 per player, depending on the accessories that you buy. The PS3 Move retails for $100 for 1 player and the XBOX Kinect retails for $150 for 2 players, but both are accessories so they require the original game system. Also, the PS3 Move requires $50-100 more per player, depending on the accessories that you buy, while the XBOX initially supports 2 players but is capable of tracking 6 players for future games. All 3 motion systems include a game to showcase the controller's features. For 2 players, the Wii is the cheapest system and the PS3 is the most expensive; but when the Xbox supports 4 players (probably via a software update in 1 year), it will be cheaper than getting a Wii. Winner: Xbox Kinect (assuming 4+ players).

Technical Comparison:

Motion detection differs in all 3 game systems. The Wii uses micromechanical components, such as an accelerometer and gyroscope, and an infrared sensor. The PS3 Move uses an accelerometer, angular-rate sensor, and visual tracking of a LED-lit globe. While the Wii & PS3 Move use similar components, the PS3 has the advantage since its components have 3-axis of motion detection compared to 2-axis sensors in the Wii; also the PS3 has a stronger processor to calculate position and distance. Instead of relying on micromechanical components, the XBOX Kinect uses a video camera, an infrared camera, and a 4-microphones array, which together is capable of gesture, facial, and voice recognition for tracking up to 6 players. The PS3's disadvantage is that micromechanical components may wear & tear and cause inaccurate motion detection, while the Xbox's disadvantage is that more processing overhead is needed when analyzing video and sound to interpret the players' motion. While the PS3 is the obvious winner over the Wii, the success of the PS3 Move vs. the Xbox Kinect will depend on the game developers' ability to translate motion into actions. Overall, the Xbox Kinect has a slight advantage because the motion software can always be improved by Microsoft, whereas the PS3 controllers will most likely remain unchanged since hardware redesigns are always expensive to both the company and its users. Winner: Xbox Kinect.

Summary: the Kinect wins all 3 comparisons, so the Xbox is a great buy! Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect - Xbox - Natal - Family Entertainment - 4gb'

Camera Accessories - digital camera accessory, canon

The wireless remote is nice, lightweight and easy to use. The only thing I wish it could do is work from behind or even from the side of the camera. You must be facing the camera to hit the infrared sensor with the remote. If that would be something you would like too, I would recommend the wired version. Canon RC-6 Wireless Remote Controller for Canon XT/XTi, XSi, T1i and T2i Digital SLR Cameras

I was skeptical while purchasing this remote if it would work with my Canon EOS 7D camera but then it worked perfectly fine. Addition of a pouch, which could be fixed to the Camera strap, was a pleasant surprise!!! A small hole on it's edge, can work as a keychain holder too!!! The remote works pretty much as a point and shoot!!!Canon EOS 7D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3-inch LCD and 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens

I just bought my Canon EOS Rebel T2i so I thought I would get this remote trip controller to add to my fun. When I first got it, I thought it didn't work, until I remembered that I hadn't set my camera under the Drive Move menu setting to Self-timer/Remote Control. Once I did this this remote worked like a charm.

This remote is far smaller than what I had expected. It is thinner than a pencil and is only a little bigger than my thumb. It also comes with a small, but fairly high quality, case. The remote doesn't do anything fancy other than send an IR signal to your camera as a shutter release. I wouldn't use this for long exposures (get the RS 60/80/TC80) for that. This remote has pretty impressive range too (it almost matches my pocket wizard, but line of sight is needed). For the most part, I use this for self-portraits and for photographing group shots that include me.

Although it doesn't say this in the description, this remote does work for the 7D (I use it). Just remember to set your camera to wireless mode under "Drive".

I received the RC-6 and am using it on my Canon T2i. It worked flawlessly from the get-go. Just point it at the front of the camera and fire! That 10 second mad dash is history! The RC-6 can be held at a low angle from perpendicular, and it still works. There is also a switch on the back of the remote that lets you change from instant action to a two second delay, if you wanted to have the remote concealed in the picture. This feature is very easy to use. Don't forget to change the "drive mode" from "single shooting" to "remote;" your camera manual will explain that, if needed. When you're done using the remote, you'll need to restore the original setting, otherwise you'll get an unwanted delay in your shutter release.

The RC-6 is very light weight, and smaller than I expected, but not in a negative way. Approximate dimensions are 2.5" tall, 1.25" wide, 0.1875" (3/16") thick (63mm X 32mm X 5mm). A few of the other reviewers said that the RC-6 was cheaply built, but I disagree with that assessment. Don't let the lack of weight fool you! Another point others made was the inability to use this remote from behind the camera while using a tripod. If you hold the remote with your right hand and point it toward yourself and in front of the camera's right side (next to the lens so that the IR signal will work on the camera, and so you don't get your hand or remote in the picture), you can trigger the shutter release while standing behind the camera. If you're using a shorter lens, you can always angle your remote hold position. This process is not as convenient as using the corded RS60-E3, for example, but it'll due in a pinch. It's a very nice remote and comes with a matched carrying case. You can't go wrong, and the price is right!

Works with the 7D, just set your drive mode to "self timer". Has a switch on the back that can be used to set the remote to instant shot or 2 second delay when in "stills" mode. During video recording setting 1 trips the shutter and setting 2 starts and stops the video recording.

Comes with a battery and a handy storage pouch that you can a-fix to your camera strap.

Indoors with a new battery, I have a measured 33 foot range from the front of the camera and 6 foot from behind. Maximum manual shutter release time is about 1.5 shots per second. In bulb mode, you press the remote once to open the shutter and again to close the shutter no need to "hold" the button.

The only real down side is you cannot do a "half press focus" with this remote. When you press the button you get instant focus and shutter release. This is not a big deal for portraits but might create some difficulties for macro or extreme zoom work where even the slightest touch of the on camera shutter might effect your cropping. I would most likely use a wired remote in those situations.

Overall a good remote but would be more versatile with "half press focus"

but... Despite being in the name of the product on Amazon, it does NOT work for the Canon EOS XS. I really hope they take that out of the title. Next time I'll read the product description from the manufacturer and not get over excited from the retailer description. - Camera Remote - Digital Camera Accessory - Canon Remote - Canon'

Diamond Sharpener

This product is great...easy to store, easy to use, very portable...the cover is built in. Due to the high quality diamond surface it sharpens much faster than a regular sharpener, it doesn't require any additional oils(just water if you want to), just rinse off the polka dot pattern of what's left from sharpening and you're done. It's handy to have around the house to do a 'quick few strokes' to sharpen whatever tool you happen to be using. The sharpener has 2 grits built in. I like that it's made in the US.

had great success reviving dull router bits with this tool. i wish the whetstone part was a bit thinner to fit between the carbide tip and anti-kickback finger on my freud saw blade, however DMT offers smaller 'file' shaped whetstones better suited for saw blades.

Love this product. Have been using it for a about 6 month now. It works fast and I was able to get the feel for sharpening my henkel and wusthof kitchen knives. I even bring this with me when I go over to my relatives. They love their knives when I am done with them. Takes a little getting used to sharpening by hand, but once you do there is no turning back. I now keep all my knives razor sharp. Two different grades of the stone are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this product.

This product works well, but is a bit small for some of my larger kitchen knives. They do make a Diafold sharpener block which would be more appropriate for those, but I obviously did not do enough research!

I want to keep it short and sweet. I am deployed in the middle east we are using our fixed blade and folding knifes like crazy, this sharpener is what we now rely on.

I have had it for just under a week, I have sharpened over 12 blades they all come out great and less than 5 minutes maybe up to 10 depending on the condition of the blade.

I am buying the fine extra fine sharpener today in fact to get a better edge.

The coarse side really gets blades back into form. I use this differently than most as I grip the handle with the sharpening part point down at an angle I want to sharpen and then brace the bottom part. Then I just go straight up and down with the knife. The fine side gets knives to a nice sharp point, but often I find the coarse is good enough for most purposes and leaves some 'bite' to the blade. If you need help keeping an angle, they make a magnetic angle guide. Just a really versatile sharpener. One complaint that is easily rectified...I kept forgetting which was coarse...blue or red. I just used a sharpie to mark it on the handle.

The handle is sturdy enough for the intended uses. The coarse side is good for repairing a very worn or chipped edge, and the fine side is perfect for putting a good working edge on any knife or edged tool. Please note that diamond sharpeners remove metal fast -- use this item carefully and stop frequently to check your progress, particularly on non-stainless steels. The butterfly handle is a wonderful feature, protecting the sharpening surfaces from dirt and damage and making the tool compact and easy to include in a toolbox.

I really have little to add to all the five-star reviews. This is the best diamond sharpener I've ever used. I use it routinely to sharpen everything, including my Swiss Army knife, kitchen knives, axes... Practical, pocket-sized, long-lasting, and the perfect combination Fine/Coarse grits. I don't really think most people will need the model with the Extra-Fine grit; just use the Fine grit with very light pressure and you'll get a polished, razor-sharp blade - unless you're a chef and require perfect finishing on your knives.

The only additional recommendation I would make is, if you are not very experienced at constantly keeping the correct angle when sharpening a knife, get also the DMT AM Angle Mate Accessory. This is a magnetic angle guide that grips the diamond surface and provides the sharpening angle recommended by DMT and appropriate for most knives, at 20 degrees. For me this is an essential accessory, as the sharpening process is MUCH faster and more precise when you maintain the proper angle, and I find that almost impossible without the guide.

Thanks for reading - hope this helps!

I have used a lot of knifes over the years and always keep a pocket knife in my pocket. I never leave the house with out it and I always sharpen it.

This sharpener is absolutely incredible. 3 slides on each side 3 times and flip it over to the fine side and 3 times on each side and it is razor sharp.

Thank you for an awesome product!'

Iphone 3g Charger - ipod charger, chargers

Like most folks here, I am very happy with this charger, happy that it costs half as much as an apple-branded ipod charger yet has two USB jacks instead of one.

Some folks here have found this charger doesn't put out enough power for particular devices. Before purchasing this charger, it's a good idea to compare the power requirements for your device with the power this charger puts out.

The charger puts out 5.2 volts, and 500mA per USB port.

The charger also includes over-voltage protection and short circuit protection.

For more tech specs, see p.4 of the manual:

[Amazon deleted my link to the manual; I'll try to put it in a comment.] Griffin PowerBlock Dual Universal Charger for MP3 Players and USB Devices (Black)

Works as advertised. If your device charges off of a computer's USB port (without a special driver), it should charge off of this. USB spec is up to 500mA per port (see wikipedia) so this product seems to be built to USB specs.

(does not charge my motorola cell phone, but I wasn't expecting it to)

I bought 2 of these to help my family charge our devices without scrambling for plugs. I am very disappointed. Even though it has 2 USB ports, it will not charge 2 items at the same time. For example if I plug in my iPhone it will start charging and then if I plug in my Nook, the Nook doesn't charge until I disconnect my iPhone. If I then reconnect my iPhone it will not charge until the Nook is disconnected. Don't bother with this, buy a power strip instead.

So far this has been an excellent charger. For those who care, essentially no power is consumed when the charger is plugged in but not charging. I tested it against my amp meter: 0.000 amps when not charging but green light showing, and around 0.0650 amps when charging my iPod. So you can leave this plugged in and not worry about consuming power when idling.

My PowerBlock was used infrequently (once a month or so) and lasted just over a year. The plastic holding the metal prongs/plugs cracked and one of the metal plugs no longer stays in... Griffen indicated that they could not help as the product was outside the warranty period. I can understand that, but I expected more from a lightly used product.

Here's a list of devices I've successfully charged using the Griffin PowerBlock:

-iPod Touch 3G

-iPod Nanon 1G

-HTC Fuze

-Logitech Performance Mouse MX

-Sony Reader Touch

-Kensington Mini Battery Extender and Charger

-Garmin Nuvi 760

It actually charges both devices at the same time so what more could you want? Great product!

When you are travelling, you are travelling with a little suitcase of applicances/gadgets these days. Our little travel plug can nolonger cater for all the gadgets that come with us. Great use for most USB powered lines, but DOES NOT work for ipads or for blackberries. The iphones/touch works. we love the Griffin brand, so this was a no brainer. the prongs contract into the body of the charger so makes packing even more easier. we love it for those who travel with ipods/mp3, mini speakers, iphones/touch.

I bought this universal charger for travel since I wanted to cut down on the cords and chargers I pack. So far it's worked fine with these devices: HTC Incredible, iPod Nano 4gen, and Nook eReader. For the most part I only charge one device at a time, but it seems to work equally well with two.

While it's a bit slower to charge than the stock chargers that come with the devices, I expected that with each port putting out 500 mA. Also I have used it overseas as well with a converter with no problems. - Ipod Charger - Chargers - Mp3 Charger - Charger'
