Excellent Music - rock and roll, great tunes

Kid Rock's new album isn't as revolutionary as the artist and title proclaim; yet it IS rather pleasing, and is indeed a bit maturer than much of Rock's previous work. The only hints of the rock/rap that will haunt him 'til the day he dies are found in "Sugar" and "Don't Tell Me U Love Me"--and even then, both songs stand testiment to the fact that Rock doesn't distinguish between musical boundaries. You have to respect him for that, if nothing else.

The album's strength, like it's two immediate predessecors, lies in its southern rock backbone. Nowhere is this more clear than on "All Summer Long," a melodical melding of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" (the opening riff makes me wish Rock would record "Werewolves;" honestly, he would tear that song up--in a good way). The country blues of "New Orleans" (a co-write with the one and only David Allan Coe) is another joyous sing-along, and one of Rock's most enjoyable tunes in a long time. "Amen" gets a bit too serious, but it is still enjoyable; naturally, Rock makes controversial declarations like "God d*** it, I'm afraid to send my kids to church" and "Our nation's race relations got me feelin' guilty for bein' white." The stone-cold country of "Half Your Age" helps convey the songs hilarious--and scathing--message. "Blue Jeans and a Rosary" touches upon gospel vibes, as does the previously-mentioned "Amen." Even the title track, though lyrically unoriginal, is catchy and listenable.

To me, this is Kid Rock's third record. I know, he had a career before COCKY; but here we see a man evolving musically and lyrically. While he still isn't at the creative high he insists he is, Kid Rock has managed to transcend genres, and to create some truly memorable music. ROCK N ROLL JESUS is a great album, if only for the fact that you can't easily place it in one musical category. While I don't recommend worshipping Rock for that, I do suggest we pay him some respect, and lend him our ears. Preach on, brother. Rock n Roll Jesus

"Rock 'N Roll" is the operative. Less rap and more rock, as promised, for the most part. Which is not to say it is anything worthy of critical praise- sloppy, unoriginal sophomoric lyrics, uninventive riffs, awkward rhymes, at times pretty amateurish sounding garage band stuff.

But if you like Kid Rock, especially the more rock and to some extent the southern rock vibe, you probably would like this album. It is actually better rounded out than the Cocky and Kid Rock albums in an overall listen.

Rock N Roll Jesus - pretty standard, generic stuff, maybe he kept it on the album because he liked the title and needed it on the album to make it make sense: 2/5

Amen - Bob Seger inspired arrangements and pretty listenable, maybe the most cross-over mainstream ready track on the disc: 4/5

All Summer Long - Zevon's Werewolves piano riff carries the verses, with some Skynryd for the chorus. Literally. Unoriginal but autobiographical lyrics maybe some people will like it. A fun listener but as unoriginal as you can get. 4/5 (just have to dig the Wolves + Skynyrd in any form!)

Roll On - Actually, this is probably the most likely radio hit, fit for any pop format, a nice laid back tune and a hook-sure chorus. 4/5

So Hott - Pretty raunchy lyrics, fit to be a favorite in strip clubs, except that it might encourage the guests to be a little too upfront. Sure, we all think it sometimes, but do you need to sing it? 1/5

Sugar - Nicely produced rocker with some signature Kid Rock rap/rock mashing going on, with some references to older hits (think Devil Without a Cause, the song). But "give me some sugar?!" Kind of strange, maybe I'm out of touch, but who call it "sugar"? 2/5

When You Love Someone - Slower song, like you would guess, gospel backing vocals with some banjo-picking. Kid Soft. Maybe a little John Mellencamp sounding, even if Kid might not like the comparison. 4/5

New Orleans - "Artistically confused" is what KR said on Larry King. Strange nasally vocal! 3/5

Don't Tell Me You Love Me - Two tracks with "Love" in them?! Classic Kid Rock sound and nicked lyric references, no matter, the most 'typical' Kid Rock track in many ways on the album, if a little slower than the rest (think Wasting Time' vibe) 4/5

Blue Jeans and a Rosary - Come on Kid, you really are a romantic, huh? Would you believe Bob Seger verses with Elton John chorus? It really works. Right up there with Picture in the 'ballad' department. 5/5

Half Your Age - You knew it was going to be there. If "Run Off to LA" wasn't really about Pam, well, there can't be a mistake this time around. Fiddles, steel guitars, upright piano, and the rest of the roadhouse country blues band sounds. Sure to be a karaoke favorite one day (listen for John Daly, yep, the golfer, in background hollerin'). 4/5

Lowlife - Typically, the last song is one that Kid probably put on there because he could. Then again it might become an anthem for some people our there. Who knows. 3/5

If this doesn't help you make up your mind, then just forget about it. You either like Bobby or you don't. Either you get it or you don't. I gotta love him.

This is the best of any Kid Rock cd I've bought. Ok, it's a little bit more on the "religious" side - if you can use the words "religion" and "Kid Rock" in the same sentence and not have a lightning bolt strike you dead. There are about 3 songs that are the reason the "Explicit Lyrics" sticker is on it. Only 1 almost made my ears bleed, but this ain't Helen Reddy. Another plus (or minus depending on how much you like Kid Rock) you can make out almost 100% of the words.

Do I recommend it? Yes.

The song Amen is pure inspiration. Then you have the filthy lyrics sometimes causing me to blush all by myself driving..sometimes too much to even take and I switch the song. Have to give this a five star. Something about it is totally Epic. Definitely, it rocks! - Excellent Music - Rock And Roll - Great Tunes - Awesome'

Nano Case - nano case, ipod nano

Everything you read about this item is true. (Except those who say the watch is the wrong direction once its placed in the holder. HELLO, turn the clock face so you can read it by pivoting the display with your two fingers!) It is a great idea but poorly made. There are decorative grooves that are made into the band. Those grooves sort of "dress up" the band. The problem is when you wear this band, the decorative grooves end up against the skin and the flat side ends up on the outside. I think someone in quality control missed this one. Media on the Go Nano 6G Watch Band Black

I got this watch band as a present and the band and what holds the Nano seems to stretch. This does not lend for a very flatering presentation. The overall effect/idea of the product is great and for the price point it's ok.

this is made of the softest material I ever touch, I am not pretty sure how often do you really need to carry the ipod all the time, but it looks nice a fun, it looks durable too. the ipod fits perfectly on it. - Ipod Nano - Nano Case'

Packaging Tape - scotch, packaging tape

Before using this tape, I was using the "Packaging" tape variety. I chanced upon this type when I ran out of tape one day and had to grab one at the local supermarket. I like this one better after using it. On the paper core of this "moving" tape, the words "mailing and storage" are printed. I guess "moving and storage" and "mailing and storage" both refer to the same tape. The reason this tape is better is because it sticks to mailing boxes better than the "packaging" tape, which sometimes lifts itself off the cardboard box. I had to apply another layer of that tape at 90 degrees sometimes to the first layer to make sure it sticks. The "packaging" tape seems to stick better to tape than to boxes. This tape is also thinner, and clearer, so that it weighs less and I can tape over the address label without obscuring it. The lighter weight makes a difference because if you are just 0.1 ounce over the limit of, say, one pound or two pounds, you need to pay the higher postage rate of the next weight limit. The difference can be as high as 2-3 dollars or about the same price as a 54 yard roll of this tape! Highly recommended! Scotch Long Lasting Moving & Storage Packaging Tape, 1.88 Inches x 54.6 Yards, 4 Rolls (3650-4)

I've used a lot of packing tape over the years and I am dissatisfied with this brand. Although the tape is strong it doesn't stick to the boxes very well. I've come back to boxes that I back a few hours ago to find the tape has peeled right off.

This is a decent tape but not as good as the "Packaging" type. The Packaging type is thicker and more resistant than the Mail and Storage type. This tape feels somewhat cheap and prompts me to double tape everything.

I have used this packaging tape for years without problem. I have found it to be the best tape for general packaging and you can rely on it to get your package delivered in one piece. It is very strong and durable and it clear so it looks nice. It works very well in a tape dispenser.

I bought this tape as I am moving. It's held up very well.

Pros:

-Sticks very well to cardboard boxes

-Price on Amazon is great

-Don't need to apply multiple layers to make it stick

Cons:

-Would be nice to have a dispenser come with it (but you buy one separately if it's important)

What can I say about Scotch Brand tape? It is and always has been the best tape company for a long, long time. Of course, this product is no different than all the other fine products that Scotch makes. I use a ton of packaging tape when shipping my eBay items and Scotch brand is always the sturdiest and easiest to work with. Yes, it is a little more expensive but it is worth it in the long run. There is never a problem with 'losing' the beginning of the tape on the roll and then wasting a bunch of it to get it started again. I highly recommend this product and the company that sells it. It's the best.

It's a little strange writing a review about Scotch Packaging Tape. What's to say? I always wish people would include the price they paid so I can compare current to past price - so I paid $10.99 for the 4 roll package. It comes off the roll cleanly instead of gumming up and making it hard to get the tape off the roll as other brands have done - even when a roll is found in the back of a drawer years later. The tape is hardy and doesn't break unless I cut it. I'd rather have a strong tape I have to hunt down a knife or scissors for than one that tears using hands. I've applied it to heavy moving boxes and never had the tape fail even after being on the moving box for years - both top and bottom of boxes stay safely sealed. The tape never fails to stick to any surface I've applied it to including cardboard, KitchenAid plastic bins, large envelopes, mending various plastic items, and so much more.

This is the first time I am disappointed in Scotch tape, but when I peel it off to start using it the tape is splitting. Very frustrating. This is why I usually pay extra for Scotch brand, to avoid that problem, but this particular tape is disappointing. In the future I will stick to their mailing tape. - Scotch - Packaging Tape - 3m - Boxes'

Duty Belt

This is a well-made heavy nylon duty belt. While I prefer the adjustment method of the traditional leather duty belts with a metal buckle, good-quality leather duty belts are much more expensive than this belt.

This belt is exactly two inches wide and has a quick-release plastic buckle. It has fuzzy Velcro on the full length of the inside surface. To adjust the belt, you pull the end of the belt (which has a two-inch hook Velcro section) through one side of the buckle and stick it to the fuzzy Velcro. So as you wear it, some of the belt is doubled over. This system allows the belt to have a very wide size adjustment from about 29 inches up to about 53 inches (but not to 55 inches as listed). It is not a problem to fit your gear slots over the doubled thickness section, since you instead slide them just over the outer belt section between the overlap.

The belt comes with two metal loop belt keepers to keep the overlapping areas of the belt aligned. These keepers are thin and cheap, so using two wider nylon or leather duty belt keepers is much better. Galati Gear Duty Belt with Velcro (55-Inch Long)'

Pico Projector - art, led projector

I'm an artist -- drawings and acrylics -- mostly smaller-size 8x10s and 11x14s. This projector is perfect for me. I can work from any digital image... project it on to panel or canvas from 16" away (8x10) or 24" (11x14). I project the image down to artboard on my kitchen table. It certainly will project a lot larger, but as a realist painter I don't have the time to do large-scale art!

Brightness -- I duct-taped a homemade projector mount to an old adjustable desk lamp, and, at 24", can see and draw the projected image perfectly in normal room light... great because you want to be able to see your pencil lines as well as the projected image.

Other comments -- echo the previous 2 reviews. Use it on the wall plug to avoid USB battery rundown. The menus are slightly confusing, you'll need to print out the user manual at Kinko's to get a handle on the choices. And it stays cool -- unlike older projectors, you don't have to worry about melting the original slide or hardcopy photo.

Sharpness -- the projected image is quite sharp, perfect for sketching. Not blurry. The focus adjuster is a great feature.

If you draw or paint -- particularly portraits, where being off a couple of millimeters changes the facial features completely, get this projector. But -- if you want to paint wall art, or large murals, you'll need a much more powerful projector, like the kind in corporate meeting rooms.

Hope this helps other artists out there -- it's neat to have this essential tool available at way under $500! Samsung SP-H03 PICO PROJECTOR; LED & DLP

After doing my research, I decided to get the Samsung Pico Projector for my wife. She is a school teacher and needed a simple projector for her classroom. It had to be easy to transport and lock up when not in use.

I can't believe the performance you get out of such a small projector. She easily hooks up her laptop or iPad to it in order to show her power point, movies, and websites.

It is not super bright, but as long as you have control over the lighting in the space you are using it, it works great. I love the fact that it is LED so that I will never have to change a bulb and it doesn't get hot at all. I love that it has a battery with about 1.5 hours of use and I especially love that you can hook up a USB thumb drive to it and play movies or power point presentations right off of the drive. You can also use a micro SD card and there is 1 GB of internal memory. The fact that you don't always have to hook a computer up to it is awesome. That alone sold me big time.

It has a speaker, but it's not the best sound or anything, which honestly I really don't care about. It is so easy to hook it up to external speakers if you need everyone to hear it, but it is nice to have a speaker on it for previewing presentations and movies. You don't always have to carry around headphones.

My only complaints are that there isn't a remote control and that it is so small that it is too easy to move it around on accident when you have wires hooked up to it. That is easily solved if you mount it to a tripod, which is very easy to do since it has a tripod screw on the bottom of the battery pack.

It comes with a case that holds the projector and battery, but you will have to carry the cables in a separate case or container. The cables take up more room than the projector.

It's simple to use and honestly for the price, you can't beat it.

CONs: It has an always-on blue led on top near the controls always draining power. Agree that it really really needs a remote. The snazzy touch key control interface on top lags and has a stupid "ding" which annoys me. And you can't charge it via usb or access the external micro sd card via usb either. Usb only gets you to the internal 1 gb. Couldn't see the doc files well enough to read and it is very selective about the pdf's it will display.

PROs; Does a very good job with movies and PPT's. i loaded a movie right off my phone into it and it worked great. Smooth motion, crisp and clear pictures, and bright colors! Used it to present a PPT slideshow at work and had a lot of fun because I told people i had a presentation and they were all looking for a laptop and projector. The speaker is actually decent even if mono.

Samsung has phones I am told with this projector chip in them and I would recomend getting one of those.

I work in an elementary school in technology and several of our teachers chose this projector to receive as part of grant simply because it was the least expensive of any projector offered by our contact technology vendor.

On paper, the specs look great, very reasonably priced (a necessity in our field), it can play from USB/flash media, includes a battery, speaker, no lamp to replace, reputable brand (not needed, but nice to have). It's just like a netbook right?, just like a regular computer/laptop but smaller and therefore cheaper. Wrong!

The achilles heel of this projector is it's brightness, 30 lumens, while it's not hidden in any way by the manufacturer, and it's even touted as main benefit (printed in 18pt. font right on the front of the projector). Someone who isn't familiar with what a lumen is may be easily confused.

30 lumens is roughly equivalent to a 2-watt incandescent night light, or an incandescent flash light of the type that would run on two-AA batteries.

A typical full-size projector, like the Epson EX31 for about $50 more is rated at 2500 lumens, which is roughly equivalent to a 150-watt incandescent light bulb.

Yes, a "typical" non-portable, non-LED projector is literally 8300% brighter than this one.

That being said, the projector works as advertised, with a reasonably clear image, and decently designed menus with the useful USB playback option. But in the classroom setting, even with the lights turned off the image is too dim to be usable (owing to daylight coming in through the windows). Even when projecting a very short distance (about 3 feet), and even with the lights turned off in the room the image is a bit too dim and washed out to be desirable. We would definitely be sending it back if it weren't for our vendor's "all sales final once opened" policy.

I'm sure it has it's uses, there's no way you could take a "typical" power-hungry 2500 lumen projector and run it off of a battery, nor could you ever fit such a projector in your pocket and the SP-H03 can do both easily.

If you're familiar with using or purchasing using "traditional" full-size tabletop projectors, be aware that this is designed completely differently. It trades off brightness (in a big way, a factor of 85 to be exact) in favor a design that's power-efficient enough to be practical to run on a small cell-phone type lithium battery and that generates so little heat that a large fan and cooling assembly is not needed.

It won't replace your typical projector cart/tabletop projector for any kind of typical boardroom/conference room/classroom with projector screen setting, but may be useful if your imagining a use for a projector where it would otherwise be impractical, maybe for showing a movie while camping well after dusk, or for an artist doing a tracing in an outside/public setting, or for an impromptu sales presentation.

Sadly, we didn't fully research the specifications for it and are stuck with a product that's practically useless for what we use projectors for. - Projector - Artist - Led Projector - Art'

Jeep - jk, winch

I got this winch within days of ordering. It came greatly packaged and easy install. It runs air tools great and inflates 35 inch tires from 12 psi to 32 all four less tham 12 minutes. The winch works flawlessly and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a great winch and air compressor. It is way faster than any decicated air system that mounts under the hood. WARN 71800 PowerPlant Air Compressor and Winch

This works great and was very easy to mount. Given the cost of an on board air system and winch, the price isn't out of line. I had no room under the hood for an air system and this solved all my problems and I am very happy and confident with it. - Winch - Jk - Winches'

Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

This is the most comfortable headset I've worn - I even forget it's on my ear it's so light. You mute by pressing the middle button on the ear piece (one quick press)which is quick and simple to do. To remind you you're muted a tone beeps every 30 seconds or so (I haven't exactly timed it.)Another quick press turns off mute. All button touches sound a tone so you know it worked. A steady press turns it off (or on)- again with a longer indicator tone.

Sound is excellent - and volume can also be easily adjusted by two curved buttons on either side of the middle on/off/mute button - but once I set it I haven't had to touch it since.

My voice comes over loud and clear - and surprisingly mine has not picked up any room noise at all. Even when one of my cats jumped up beside me and let out a loud meow the mike didn't pick up the sound.

I have used the stock headset (very annoying fit) and a wired ear bud with mike which would become extremely uncomfortable after an hour and actually irritate my ear that it'd be sore the rest of the day. This headset does not have this problem. I literally wore it 5 hours straight playing Black Ops and hardly was aware I had it on.

The one problem is it does have limited range. If I wander off to the next room it'll start to break up - go into the next room (the kitchen) and it loses connection completely. We're talking only a matter of 17 feet. Once it loses connection and you return in range most times you don't regain the connection. I have to turn off the headset completely - then back on. And often it still won't connect and I'll have to try again before it re-syncs itself.

Despite the limited range I still give it 5 stars because it is the best 360 headset I've used. Being wireless it is very convenient and it's completely unobtrusive. If I venture off to the kitchen I now just take off the headset and set it next to my controller now that I'm aware of its range.

Power lasts about 8 hours for me. I recharge via the USB plugged into my computer and it takes a few hours to fully charge. You have to charge it when you get it so that will give you a general idea of how long it'll take.

The black color is subdued and I can answer the door wearing it and it doesn't call attention to itself.

I likeit so much I picked up another for a spare. (On sale.) Xbox 360 Wireless Headset

This is my second Xbox 360 wireless headset- My first was nearly identical, with the exception of being the silver Halo: Reach version. When I first got my original headset and was raving about it to my friend, his reply was, "Yea.. but I heard they're super prone to breaking." He was correct: Within a month it was unable to charge, and soon thereafter became completely non-functional. Just Google it, you'll see this is a widespread problem.

So why did I order another? Well, mostly due to a lack of alternatives, but also:

+It's lightweight and far more comfortable than the standard wired mic. In fact, I forget it's even there while I'm playing.

+The mute yourself button (which I use frequently) can be pressed easily without looking.

+So are the volume buttons, but it rarely needs adjustment (unlike the standard mic), which is a big plus.

+I read in someone else's review that they didn't like the mic being far from your mouth... This is a good thing to me. People can hear you just fine, and you don't have a foam ball directly in front of your mouth being a distraction and preventing you from eating, smoking, etc. And I've never once heard anyone online complain about picking up ambient noise from my end.

+Most importantly, being able to set my controller down and walk to the kitchen while you're still communicating is a luxury you can't live without once you get used to it.

So yes, I begrudgingly recommend this product, but you should probably do some quick research before you purchase to determine if any good alternatives have been released since this review was written.

I don't have the black wireless headset, but I do have the Halo Reach edition of this, which is the same item with a different paint job. I have 2 issues with this item.

One is that the audio tends to cut out at times. It gets its sync back pretty quickly, but it's irritating to have the voice switch to the speakers and then back into the headset every hour or so. I don't know if there is something in my area that is causing interference or not so I'm not going to call it a major flaw.

Second, is the fit. It only comes with 2 ear loops, one has an M on it for medium and the other has an S on it for small. I use the medium and I have a hard time getting it on, not to mention after a while it feels like my ear is being pinched and it gets uncomfortable. Why they didn't think to include a large size is beyond me. This thing would be nearly perfect for me if they had. My ears aren't abnormally big, I can use most bluetooth headsets without any problem, but this thing feels like it was sized for a 12 year old.'

Holy Bible Kindle - holy bible, king james bible

For many years now, I have been teaching classes in Biblical nutrition with a focus on freshly milled grains. I learned of this book when one of the people attending my class asked if I had read Dr. Russell's book because the rules I gave in class were in his book! I had not, but promptly got it and read it. I agree with him 100%. Believe me, in the world of nutrition, that is VERY rare! I have read many of the same books as cited in Dr. Russell's book and arrived at the same conclusions. We certainly serve an awesome God!If you wish to improve your family's health, to turn your health around, get this book and put it into practice. It is simple to do and a much less expensive way to eat.God never intended us to eat food made by man. If you will prayerfully read this book, with an open heart and mind, I know that you will be amazed at the blessings you and your family will receive. What the Bible Says About Healthy Living

Russell shares his experience and medical knowledge with insight, and especially important for convincing the skeptics, the background information on WHY foods help or hinder our bodies.

Listed are grains and legumes, and the vital nutrients contained in them.

Listed are meats/seafood that are declared clean and unclean in the Bible, and more helpfully, the understanding of why they would be unhealthy back then and now.

The understanding and knowledge was very helpful in changing my mind about my diet. My mom always tried to get me to eat gross bread, for instance, because it was healthier. I didn't want anything to do with it. Now I am motivated to find enjoyable ways to eat healthy grains, more beans, and reduce animal fat in my diet because of God's plan for health.

Another aspect of the book is the testimonies included about adults and children recovering from ailments after changes in diet. Russell mentions many different types of ailments that doctors generally don't know what to do about, and how reducing processed sugars/flours and adding fiber through fruits and vegetables greatly helped people.

My wife's response as we read some of the book together was, "Why doesn't everybody know this?"

Indeed, if we all wanted healthy bodies, we would change our eating habits, but, we've known that for a long time. This book teaches the HOW of healthy eating.

It's a multi-billion-dollar industry: dieting. Every year, someone comes up with a new spin on the age-old question of how to stay fit. When I was growing up, we dutifully memorized our four food group chart, which was later replaced by the food pyramid. I was shocked to learn recently that the food pyramid wasn't based on true scientific research, but on government subsidy politics. So, once again, we're told to learn something new.

Thankfully, one book never changes: the Bible. That's why Dr. Rex Russell's book should be on every parent's bookshelf: it serves as a companion to God's Word, explaining in laymen's terms how to eat based on the Creator's plan. And it's chock full of warm and witty anecdotes from Dr. Russell's research and life work.

Despite our massive improvements in sanitation, nutrition, and medical research, studies show the average American's lifespan could DECREASE by as much as five years in the coming decades. Why is that? It's because we eat too much, eat the wrong things, and we're too FAT! More than 60% of adults and 30% of children are overweight or obese, putting themselves at a higher risk of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and a variety of other illnesses.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT HEALTHY LIVING is based on three simple principles: 1) Eat the foods God created for you. 2) Don't alter God's design. 3) Don't let any food or drink become your God. This book also has a chapter on fasting, which is a topic everyone needs to understand. You see examples of it throughout the Bible, but how many of us actually practice it habitually?

Dr. Russell tells the case of a nine-year-old girl with severe dyslexia who was undergoing expensive therapies and treatments, yet still couldn't read. The surprise came after she fasted a few days from having the flu. She could read! Her parents discovered her learning problems were diet-related. They learned she was sensitive to sugar, corn, white flour, margarine, honey, and other frequently eaten foods.

I think many kids who are diagnosed with ADD and other disorders could be cured through cutting processed food out of their diets and getting hours and hours of fresh air and exercise outside instead of being forced to sit still indoors. Easier said than done, of course. But it's still a lifestyle to aim for.

This is a book I bought on the recommendation of Sue Becker of the Bread Beckers in Atlanta. I try to read it once a year to remind myself of the health truths found in the Bible. It's a staple to add to every mom's shelf of cookbooks -- and gives hope to those suffering from health problems. I also like George Malkmus' Hallelujah Diet and books, though eating a mostly raw diet is tough when trying to feed kids. Still, it is something to keep in mind, and it's a diet that is Biblically based and has cured thousands from severe disease.

--Reviewed by Heather Lynn Ivester

I have been a diabetic for twenty years. My spouse was experiencing some health problems. We read this book looking for how a change in diet might help. We liked the way Dr. Russell explained both the divine wisdom and the scientific evidence behind the information he presents. He persuaded us to change WHAT we eat. Now that I eat the right foods, I eat as much as I want. My obesity is melting away (without increasing my excersize - which I still need to do!) I feel better, look better and even think better. My eye sight is improving. The quality of my life is better. My triglycerides dropped from 245 to 85 six weeks after implementing the changes even though I still eat fats, though only the RIGHT fats. I have bought multiple copies of this book and give them to everyone I know... READ THIS BOOK. YOUR LIFE WILL BE BETTER!!! - Holy Bible - Kindle Bible - King James Bible - Kindle Freebie'

Using my new Plextor PX-716A burner (an excellent DVD Burner!), I used the included PlexTools program to make a copy of my DVD. Note, the original DVD is not protected in any way.

I burned the DVD+R DL at 4x speed (approx. 28 min. to burn). There is a selection in the Plextor's software to "overwrite" the book type of the DVD+R DL so that it looks like a pressed dual-layer DVD to settop DVD players (to avoid a confusing older DVD players). I used this setting (it is by default) to burn the DVD.

When it comes to DVD burning, there is no better test than the compatiblilty and quality test of the burned disc. The test is simple, put the burned DVD in as many players as you can and see how many can and cannot read it. Well, I have to say that I have tested this DVD+R DL in over 20 DVD players so far, and ALL have played it with NO COMPATIBILITY issues whatsoever. This finding is as good as or better than all DVD+R and DVD-R (single layer) I have ever used.

After having read all the reviews on the web about how incompatible burned DVD+R DL discs are, I have to say, the Plextor 716A and Verbatim DVD+R DL combination blows everything else away.

Yes, the discs are kinda expensive, but if you have valuable or irreplaceable DVDs to back up, they will work for you. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Just a couple quick notes:

1. To ensure compatibility among all DVD-Players, be sure you set your recording software to finalize all DVD+/-R's with the DVD-Rom booktype. If you do not, older DVD players may have trouble recognizing the DVD's. The Plextor drives have a setting (via Plextools) that will allow you to force them to always finalize with the DVD-Rom booktype!

2. I have burned about 200 of these Verbatim DVD+R DL discs successfully and have used no other brand. I refuse to even try another brand. There have been only 2 out of all of them I had problems with. First one I put an adhesive label on, and the label warped the DVD. When I tried to "flatten" it, the DVD cracked center-to-edge and I had to toss it. Second disc had a few read errors on it near the layer switch. The bonding on that disc appeared to be a bit weak near the center, as some of the dye was inconsistent there. Go figure as to why the problem was at the layer break at the outer edge of the DVD. Verbatim 95310 8.5 GB 2.4x-6x Double Layer Recordable Disc DVD+R DL, 20-Disc Spindle

I am burning these discs on a Lite-On LH-20A1S and a Sony DRU-810A, and they work flawlessly. Maybe it's the fact that they are on Sony's compatible list for the drive or that they are quality discs, I don't know. But what I do know is that the picture quality that I got from my copy was PERFECT. NO PIXELATION, NO DROPPED FRAMES, and NO PAUSES. A perfect burn.

I ran the Verbatim discs through DVDInfo Pro and it came back with write speeds of 2.4, 4.0, and 8.0 (see picture.) The box mine came in says "up to 6x speed," so you MIGHT be able to push it to 8x with a high speed drive.

For everyday, general consumer use you should find that these discs will give you a high quality, dependable burn. Some may ask if they are archival quality, and I have to say that my guess is 'no.' Unless the disc specifically says "archival quality" then I would assume that they are standard discs (which have been found to deteriorate over time.

I highly recommend these discs for your approved DVD+R DL burner. (Remember to check the media compatibility of your drive BEFORE you purchase these discs or any other disc! See your drive manufacturer's website for details.)

Verbatim DL used to be by far the best DL media available. Reliable, stable in storage, and consistent high quality made by Mitsubishi in their Singapore plant, one of the highest quality DVD production plants in the world.

Not any more. Verbatim has outsourced a large part of their DL production to a plant in India, and now when you buy this media you have a high chance of getting made in India - this product is poor, often with obvious physical defects in the media like bubbles, holes and foil delaminates.

It is possible to still find made in Singapore cakeboxes on store shelves, but if you can't actually read the disk label before buying you are rolling the dice when you buy.

It is a real shame Verbatim does not offer the Singapore product as a diferent grade. It would be worth a few extra bucks to get a cakebox that had a 95% success rate vs. the 50% rate the made in India product gives.

Verbatim has really gotten a black eye in my book with this stunt. - Dual Layer - Dvd Dual Layer - Dual Layer Dvd - Verbatim'

Printer Ink - hp ink, printer ink

This is great value for money, and a great printer. I had a previous CMYK printer, great savings because you only change the print cartridge for the colr you have run out of instead of the whole color cratridge regardless of the other colors still being available.

This is the black cartrdige, and this is the larger size of the two. I have printed hundreds of pages and it has not made a dent in the bars showing on the menu.

Even the small cartridge printed well over a ream of paper,so I love my new printer and these cartridges, once I got the hang of getting them into the printhead without them wobbling all over the place.

An excellent product-shop around for great value and don't forget to recycle them! (You can drop them off at staples and get rewards coupons back, up to 10 per month). HP 920XL Black Officejet Ink Cartridge in Retail Packaging

The Extra Long Hewlett Packard Ink cartridge for Officejet Printers is a great buy. I have used these for only a few months and find they give nice, sharp printing and images and last much longer than the standard cartridges. They cost less than 2 of the standard cartridges.

Purchased this 6 months ago. Will NOT print, only printed 2 or 3 pages per week. It's still full of ink, but the print Head is clogged or something. Took it out and tried to clean head, Used the HP printer cleaning software program, No success. Shows 80 per cent full in the printer LCD screen. The color cartridges are still printing and they are a year old or more.

This ink is for an HP Office Jet 7000 wide format printer. It is only used for occasional special printing projects so it is annoying that the number of prints from these cartridges is VERY low. Maybe 100 of 13 x 19 CAD drawings before it quits working. I don't know if it dries up or that much ink gets used.

The printer was really cheap so I shouldn't be surprised at the exorbitant ink usage & cost.

The 920 xl cartridge has been a much better value for me as a small business owner than other printing options thus far. My first few cartriges purchased were the regular sized (small) 920 black. They would last for only 2-3 weeks tops. Now with the 920xl I am saving money and am less worried about having multiple replacements on hand for large printing jobs.

Amazon delivered this order within 3-4 business days (free shipping option). I would definately order this product again.

Amazon had the best price + shipping charges for this cartridge. It works well and I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. The XL is much larger and seems like it will last a lot longer than the standard capacity. I will definitely buy it again from Amazon. - 6500 - Hp Ink - Printer Ink - Hewlett-packard'

Bluetooth Stereo Headphones - iphone, bluetooth headset

I purchased this product with the intention of pairing to my phone for running and working out. Wired headphones and earbuds have a tendency to not allow for free motion and sometimes get snagged on weights, benches, etc. I had several primary concerns for these headphones, and couldn't find the information I needed anywhere else, so I hope this review serves to answer some questions for you. Please note that this details my experience after 30 days of use.

Quality of Construction: These headphones feel decidedly cheap. I have a pair of wrap-around (wired) headphones that cost $10 that seems to have sturdier construction. Upon taking these out of the package, I felt like taking them off too roughly, or something falling on them, could damage or break the frame. After 30 days of use, they still feel cheap, but I am not so afraid that I will break them. While it is a very real possibility that a less careful person (read: spouse) or accident will break these, extending some consideration to fragile electronics makes me think that the frames breaking is not how these will end their life.

Quality of Sound: When running or working out, I am content if the headphones are 1) loud enough 2) not flat and 3) easily adjustable for conditions. These do well on all counts. I have noticed that some songs are too loud, some not loud enough -- but this is because of the source, not the headphones. There is good range of sound, sufficient bass and treble to please my ears while I exercise. Further, the positioning of the volume controls allows me to make adjustments without breaking stride -- the placement of the Play/Pause and the Forward and Back controls allows me to skip songs without skipping a step. (Please note: if your device does not support use of the Play/Pause, Forward and Back buttons, it is not the fault of these Headphones. I suggest you consult your phone or device's documentation if you are not sure whether it supports AVRCP)

Sweat Resistance: This is the big one, and the one that most reviews don't touch on. As I was searching for something I could wear while exercising, whether it would stand up to some sweat is extremely important. These have done well so far. I have noticed some sweat on the lower half of each ear-piece during workout but have not experienced any problems from this yet. I have worn them on intense interval workouts and long runs (10 mile) and they still function as well as new. I would caution that these do tend to keep the ears quite warm, and do seem to contribute to sweating -- I would not wear these in the summer, or in warm climates. Your experience may differ, as I live in a state with high humidity. (Special Note: After feeling sweat all over my head and worrying about these breaking, I spent a few dollars for an Under Armour beanie that keeps the sweat from rolling down my head. Definitely a good purchase, as it helps regulate my body temperature and significantly cuts down on the moisture that accumulates on the headphones)

Minor issues: The headphones sometimes skip or gap, depending on the location of the broadcasting device. This rarely happens and is not too irritating when it does. Call quality has been praised and I have never had anybody guess I was using speakerphone, headphones, in a well, etc. Battery life seems good, I can use them for approximately 5 or 6 hours without needing to recharge them. Recharging takes a touch less than 2 hours with the Micro-USB adapter.

Overall: I am quite satisfied with my purchase. These are not exactly what I thought I would need, but are definitely functioning as I hoped they would. For the price paid, I do not expect them to last forever, but anticipate that when they do stop working, I will quickly order a replacement pair of the same model. In my estimation, of you are searching for a pair of headphones that you can use while exercising, if you are worried about sweating, and if you are not extremely demanding of your electronics, I would strongly suggest these headphones. I rate them 4/5 because of concerns about the durability of the frame - even a slight concern is enough to withhold a perfect score - but would give them a 4.5 if possible. Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Black)[Retail Packaging]

I bought these music headphones/phone headset directly from Motorola when they first came out, so I have been using them now for five months. I was waiting a long time for something like this and they have exceeded all my expectations.

You can download the quick start user guide from Motorola here:

http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/US-EN/Mobile%20Phones%20Accessories/S305/US-EN/_Documents/Static%20Files/S305_QSG_EN_SP_68000201969A.pdf

Fit: 5 out of 5.

I wear glasses so fit was crucial for me, and they work perfectly fine while wearing them. I often wear them while riding my bike along the lakefront at Chicago, and they fit perfectly at the back of my head below the edge of my bike helmet.

Sound: 5 out of 5.

I continue to be amazed at the sound on these, deep rich bass and many subtle sounds.

Also they have lots of volume. I first set the volume at max on my cellphone, which is a free-on-contract Motorola EM330 music phone. At top volume these headphones are loud enough for me to hear them on Chicago's subway train (the EL). Some snobby audiophiles complain that these are not as good as their wired $200 headphones while listening in a totally silent room. Some people cannot be pleased! Also if you don't first max your volume on your cellphone you won't get the best quality sound.

Also since they are not in my ear canal, and not completely surrounding my ear to block out the sound, I find them to be quite safe since I can still hear the world around me while on my bicycle.

While on a call the person on the other end does not know I am using a blue tooth headset.

I hear the sound of the call in both ears and the microphone is high quality, and you have to search for the little elongated mic hole to point it out to people who ask about your headphones!

Features: 5 out of 5.

Your cellphone must have the correct bluetooth profiles for these to work fully: A2DP (Audio Profile), AVRCP (Remote Control Profile).

Many APPLE products DO NOT HAVE AVRCP and then their users INCORRECTLY COMPLAIN about the headphones missing the capabiliy of next track and previous track.

These headphones feature the following abilities:

* Take calls (press the telephone button at the top flat side to pickup).

* Make calls (press and hold the telephone button to call the last number dialled).

* Reject a call (press either the next track or previous track button)

* Mute/Unmute a call (press the Play/Pause button)

* Play music (press the play/pause button at the bottom flat side to play or pause)

* Pause music (press the play/pause button)

* Stop music (press and hold the play/pause button)

* Next track (press the next track button at the right flat side)

* Previous track (press the previous track button at the right flat side)

* You can also fast-forward or rewind by holding either the next track or previous track button.

* The volume controls are on the top edge along with the power button. The volume buttons have ridges you can feel with your finger, and when you increase the volume the headphones make a indicator sound increasing or reducing in volume/tone.

* Also depending on the capabilities of your phone you may be able to use these for voice control of your phone, by pressing and holding the make a call button.

Connection: 4.5 out of 5.

They receive the music through walls and even downstairs as I walk around in my condo listening to the music.

They actually do receive up to 33 feet away! So far away that I sometimes forget where I left my phone while I am listening to music on it!

When I am out walking and they are in my left side back pocket, I sometimes (but quite rarely) lose connection for a second, due I think to my body mass blocking the signal. I think the Bluetooth receiver is in the right side of the headphones, so if I move the phone to the front or right pocket, or even turn it over, the problem goes away. However, this rare problem may also be due to the phone not this headset.

Controls: 5 out of 5.

Having so many controls in such a small space is initially confusing, but you can soon the get hang of it and certainly is done by one hand. I do not stop my bike just to change tracks! I usually have no problems clicking the correct button with my right hand.

If I am slightly confused I can feel for lump where the headband is connected on the right, just beside this is the next-track button. Directly back from it is the back track, which I use to repeat a favorite song. Straight down is play/pause.

Usage Tips:

Set the volume of your music player to the maximum, and then control the volume using the headphones. In this way you get the best quality sound and the highest range of volume.

At the start of music day, I power up the headphones and they make a pleasing chirp sound in my ears.

Then I just press the PLAY button. The phone then communicates with the headphones making the two bluetooth connections (audio and remote control) while I hear a bleep each time. Then the music starts. At this point I lock the buttons on my phone to prevent it for switching tracks by accident in my pocket or bag.

When I am finished using them I turn them off completely, instead of leaving them on standby. Otherwise I might get a phone call that will ring in the headphones which are not on my head, so I miss the call.

When I power them off, I first stop the music, otherwise the music will suddenly start playing out of my phone speaker! - Bluetooth Headset - Bluetooth - Wireless Headset - Iphone'

Waterproof Pad - waterproof pad, baby

Vinyl Free Waterproof Pad, November 30, 2008

I bought a set of these pads and now I'm buying another. They are just so useful. I use them under my baby (who was a premie as is now 9 weeks and 9 lbs) all the time, whether on the bed, on the couch, or anywhere else I'm worried about spitup or other accidents. I'm also going to get some bigger ones for when he grows, but I still want more in this size because they're so handy.

I was looking for a waterproof pad that was not vinyl, partly because I can't stand the smell of vinyl and partly because it makes my baby sweat. These are perfect.

Pros:

- Waterproof

- Lightly quilted, which my little guy likes, and the padding absorbs liquid really well - so well that sometimes I have to feel twice to check if it's really wet.

- Easy care: I throw them in the washer and dryer, and they've been washed dozens of times already and are holding up well.

Cons:

- The organic flannel fabric does pill, so if you're really adverse to pilling these might drive you nuts, but for me their usefulness outweighs this con by far.

I bought both the Snoozy Organic Flannel Cotton Waterproof Multi Use Pad smaller 2 pack as well as as the larger single pad. I don't know why these were so expensive. The organic cotton fabric is of very poor quality. It doesn't stand up well to frequent washings, which you honestly need to do quite often with these. They are waterproof, but I wouldn't call them absorbent. Once they get peed on, sweated enough on, or slightly damp by some other way, they act like a sponge ready to let go of any retained liquid at the slightest touch. As soon as they're damp, I have to wash them! And literally, it doesn't take much to make them feel damp. It's probably due to the polyester stuffing--it makes it fluffy, buy that stuff will not hold moisture.

When I decided to buy these, I thought I being smart. I could use these as changing pads, as extra-protection beneath my baby (especially when he slept), to nurse in a side-lying position. . .but these haven't been very useful at all. Honestly, it's been easier for me just to use towels for these multi-uses. And I thought I would save money with these. I wish I would have gotten a Bowron lambskin for my baby instead. It seemed too expensive at the time, but now I realize it would be a better buy and will order one soon. Even a plain old bath towel is more absorbent than these, if not waterproof. Granted, these pads only claim to be "waterproof" (which they are) and not "absorbent," but then what's of adding all the extra padding that trap extra moisture only to quickly release it? It would make more sense to just have the waterproof material with organic cotton on top without ANY polyester padding in the middle. That way it could air dry quickly, thereby being more comfortable for my baby to be on longer. Or if it had no fabric or padding, I could wipe moisture away. At least I didn't rely solely on these to protect my mattress from baby-related fluids; I got a Naturepedic Organic Waterproof Mattress Pad too. It works great and holds up in the wash!

These pads are two of the best items I have purchased so far for my baby! I use one or both of them every day to keep the baby on for air time out of her diaper as well as when I have the baby with me on the bed or couch--even when the baby is diapered--just in case. I am definitely getting more of these as well as the smaller version. I just wish they were available in a third size in between the smaller and the larger versions.

This is very soft and fluffy; it is actually puffy coming out of the dryer. The size is a good fit for regular changing pads, or the ones on a pack & play which is where I'm using mine. But it pilled the first time I washed it, and the seams around the edges are not finished in a very elegant manner. It has been washed once and looks like it's a year old. So it is a bit "homey" in appearance, which is not the end of the world. I like it and will continue to use it, but I prefer the Kushies Deluxe Change Pad, Cream Polka Dots which has a much more polished look. It's not organic though, so if that's important to you and you don't mind it looking more worn than it really is, then this product is great.

These pads have been invaluable. At first, before baby arrived, my husband didn't see how these would be so essential, but he quickly changed his mind the first week w/ our newborn son. We ordered another 2-pack so we would have extras on standby for when the others were in the wash or soiled. We keep one in the crib, one on the changing pad, and anywhere else our baby is and there is the potential for a diaper blow-out (i.e., on top of the Boppy pillow while nursing) or a spit-up mishap. After quite a few washings, the pads are holding up well, no pilling, and still doing their job. I washed in warm water to work on the stains and that worked good, after first rinsing w/ hot water and treating with Bac-Out stain remover. - Changing Pads - Waterproof Pad - Waterproof - Baby'

Iphone Portable Speakers - ihome, mp3 player

I've spent a lot of time and some money looking for a suitable speaker set for my Ipod Touch. I like to view movies while laying in bed and this is perfect. No power cords to get in the way, sound is good for my purposes. There is a little ledge to rest the Ipod on, and it allows me to view in landscape mode. All the docking speakers force me to remove the case and most of them force portrait mode position. This is perfect as I don't want to struggle with the case or viewing position. It's a great value for my uses.

Pros:

Landscape mode viewing

Sound is good

Don't have to remove case from ipod

Inexpensive

No power cord so very portable

Cons:

Doesn't charge Ipod

Battery powered (4 AAs) iHome iHM9 Portable Stereo System for iPod, iPhone, and MP3 Players (Black)

I purchased this tonight and cannot believe the sound clarity that this lil' thing has. I am very pleased with the sound however cannot give this a 5-star rating because the cord has a strange setup. Instead of being hidden the cord must wrap around the side to plug into the ipod. I have a 3rd gen nano (lil' square one) and the jack is on the bottom making it sit off-center. Also props the ipod a little off the back plate. If this didn't sound as good as it does I would take it back. For this price its definitely a keeper!

Wow...this thing is great. Yes, it runs on batteries. And no, it doesn't charge your ipod. But it costs $18 and it's portable! All you need is 4 AA batteries and you can take your music anywhere! It's great if you are having a BBQ, hanging out on the boat, or just want to move it from room to room to enjoy your ipod! I loved it so much, I ordered a second one just to have for when I do stuff outside. It's little, it's loud, it's a great setup. Totally worth the money!

I wanted a small, battery-powered speaker system to be able to listen to my Sandisk Sansa View while at work. The only issue is a work in a distribution center with very loud, continuous noise; conveyor belts, machine horns, loud bangs of large plastic totes being thrown about, etc. With the environment, I also wanted something that, should it get broken, I wouldn't be out $50 or so, which seems to be the average price for speaker systems for devices other than iPod.

This works by plugging into your device's headphone jack. There is a notch in the center where you're supposed to stand it up like it is pictured above, only they didn't account for the cord, so it makes your player sit somewhat off-kilter, unless you just lay it on its side (which I've taken to doing). This could have been fixed with a groove that ran along the back of the tray, but that's really the only major complaint I have.

This thing is -loud-. It only works by your player's volume, but it's got a lot of power to it for being battery-powered. At max volume, I can hear it even above all the noise I specified above (though, I'll admit, listening to anything purely instrumental or quiet/soothing is impossible in that environment), though for the normal user, half-volume or lower would probably be easily sufficient.

As for how fast it goes through batteries, I've had to change mine after approximately 24-26 hours of play at the maximum volume. Once the batteries start to go, the sound gets incredibly crackly at the high volumes and gets worse fairly quickly. Though I have noticed that the crackle goes away (at least temporarily) when the volume is turned down, which leads me to believe the batteries have the potential to last even longer when not played on full-blast continuously.

All in all, very pleased with my purchase. If you want a cheap, small, battery-powered speaker that works with any audio device, this is it.

I bought this yesterday after looking long and hard at this and a few other portable speakers for my iPod Nano 3rd gen. I wasn't entirely sure it could produce the kind of sound I needed, and was almost certain I would end up taking it back.

Boy, was I wrong!

The moment I plugged my iPod into this speaker I was amazingly surprised at the wonderful sound quality this little unit produced, and the kind of volume it could crank out. I can even play my collection of Trance music and be able to hear the bass clearly!

Another reviewer commented on the strange cord setup which was a bit inconvenient for the iPod Nano - yes, it is a little odd, but personally I don't mind one bit. This speaker was every bit worth the money I paid for it!

I shopped around for iPod speakers for a long time. After doing a ton of research I settled on these. Some of the reviewers said they experienced some sound quality issues and I did too until I changed the EQ settings on the iPod itself. The sound gets so loud! I am in love with this product! It is the perfect size to keep in smaller places like the kitchen and bathroom! I love being able to sing in the shower now!The only issue I have is when I move the product from room to room I have to keep a sturdy hold on the iPod itself or it falls off, but that is only a minor distraction. I love love this unit! - Mp3 Player - Ihome - Ipod Speakers - Speakers'
