Sports Products - counter, swimming

This is my third SportCount, but first with the new model. The Chrono 100 now counts up to 100 laps (previous was only 50) which is great for shorter tracks or pool laps. After 100, the unit keeps timing and counting but only stores the most recent 100 lap times. The single button takes very little effort to press; I have yet to miss a click or double-click (a problem with previous design).

A few drawbacks warrant 4 stars instead of 5. The unit only displays the lap number immediately after clicking. Look fast because it only displays for 3 seconds. It does not display running lap time, only running total time. I am also concerned how sturdy the strap will be. The previous model had a replaceable strap whereas the strap for this design is integrated into the body of the unit.

Fantastic little unit. Lightweight, no larger than a class ring and easy to operate with one hand. Very clear display. Great addition to a track or pool workout. SportCount LapCounter

I have done considerable research and found this to be the best counter for my needs. I swim three times a week and this was perfect.

Pros-easy to use, fits on finger, and waterproof.

Cons-to have battery replaced by company you have to pay $10 and pay to have it shipped. This is half the cost of the item. Might as well buy a new counter once this one stops working. Counter is not shock resistant so be careful about dropping it. Band seems flimsy although I've had no problems with it. For now, on Amazon.com, sold only through third party vendor. This means that you have to also pay shipping. Found the same item on ebay, for the same price, with free shipping. In short, cheaper to buy on ebay (for now).

I would highly recommend this item. Best lap counter for swimming.

I purchased one of these lap counters to keep track of how many laps around my pool I walk. It works great and is water resistant. Just be careful when you order that you are ordering the correct one. Thanks to another review that I read, I was made aware that they have one of these that counts laps (like this one). And they have a different one that is a stopwatch. I have looked all over for anything comparable and haven't come across any other water resistant lap counters that you can actually use in a swimming pool. I have had this one for a few months now and use it just about every day. I haven't had any trouble with mine. Also, because you wear it on one finger, it's very convenient.

I read the other reviews and made sure to order the LAPcounter, as apparently there are 2 closely-looking items. So helpful for me as I train for triathlons and always want to keep up with mileage but end up mentally relaxing as I swim and forgetting what lap I am on. Completely dummy-proof as far as I am concerned and have not had any problems. This inexpensive little device has made all the difference for me in keeping the numbers real as I train.

My mom loves using this lap counter to go swimming. Completely waterproof, fits snugly enough not to come off, yet wears comfortably. It really takes away the annoyance of forgetting what lap you're on in the pool. I give it a full recommendation.

I swim about 4x a week about 1-2 miles in a pool. Keeping lap count really grew frusterating until I purchased this product. No timer on mine, I just wanted to keep count. Fits perfect. NO drag. I LOVE THIS item. This counter lets me free up my mind and concentrate on my stroke. It does exactly what it claims.... plus everyone in the pool wants one now!!!

This little lap counter is very easy to us and comfortable to wear. Don't expect it to count splits or or time laps.... it just counts. If that is what you are looking for it is a comfortable, convenient, little device. - Stop Watch - Swimming - Counter - Sports Products'

Bob The Builder - fisher price, hammer

I'm not into clutter, but my 17 mth old son LOVES to help his daddy with projects in the garage. So, we bought him this drill which is so close to the real deal. HE LOVES IT. Plays with it every single day! Even my husband has told all his friends with youngsters they need this drill!!! It is great for drilling, but also fine motor skill screwing in the screws by hand, and pushing/pulling the nails. My sister is an occupational therapist and she thinks it's a great toy too! I still don't see how this toy is only $13! It's worth every single penny! One drawback, the drill bits do go astray... may be a good idea to buy two of these at this price! ;-) Fisher-Price Drillin' Action Tool Set

Purchased this for my 3 year old for Christmas because he always likes to act like his Daddy. I was drawn to it because of the Fisher Price name and low price-point. The drill and "bits" are contructed of durable plastic and very realistic. There is a small blue handy carrying case that houses all of the pieces. My son played with this for over 30 minutes at a time and attempted to "unscrew" real screws around our home. The set is so realistic that young children will believe it has the ability. I was very happy to see that the drill actually rotated and locked on to the bits.

Highly recommend for younger children that want to feel like Mommy & Daddy making repairs throughout the home. This will keep their little fingers away from your tools!

I have been working in our basement and my son has been coming down to 'help Daddy'.

He LOVES the power tools, and hugs the battery drill I use to his chest (minus a bit, and minus a battery pack) as he walks around.

Finally he has his own drill, and he is in love with it.

Comes with two bits, a drill and a Phillips head. I cannot get it out of his hands long enough to show him how to use the second bit yet.

The toolbox has several holes he can 'drill' which is great as well.

my son who is 29 months old LOVES this toy, he always wants to play with my husbands tools and this is a good distractor. Its also good for motor skills and problem solving. It works like a real drill does,, the hammer and nails are cool too. has a nice tool bucket for it too. will buy this toy for gifts and recomend it.

My 26 mo old nephew got this for Christmas. At first, he wasn't interested. Then I had him help me use a real drill to drill a hole, pound an anchor into the hole with a hammer and screw a screw into the anchor. Now he enjoys using his drill -- not just to screw in the three screws on the set, but to "repair" his train tracks and anything else he decides needs it. The drill has 2 bits, but the second one doesn't serve a purpose -- at least not in working with the pieces in the set. There are 3 screws to "drill" down or up and 3 nails to hammer. The hammer also has the piece to pull the nails out after pounding them down. The three screws and nails get old pretty quickly -- not much to do once you've screwed or pounded them a couple times, but the tools can be used in many other settings. It would have been nice to include a screwdriver and maybe some pieces to nail or screw together, but my nephew is now enjoying using his tools.

My two-year-old son was so excited to get this toy for his birthday! He has seen his dad drilling holes to hang pictures and whatnot, and he was fascinated by all the tools my husband has. When we showed him what this toy drill can do, he loved it and wouldn't put it down for the rest of the day! He quickly learned how to use the screwdriver bit to screw in and out the plastic screws and he loves the hammer. He hammers everything in sight! He has already held the end of the screwdriver while holding the trigger(stopping the movement with his hand), and the drill has made a clicking, grinding noise, but then it just keeps on working once he lets go! It comes with two drill bits, 3 screws, 3 nails, a hammer, and a tool box. We have had to change the batteries once already (we've had it for about 2 months), but that's because my son loves it so much, he plays with it all day! If your child loves tools, I would highly recommend this toy!

Excellent Buy!!! We bought this for our 18 month old, and he loves it. He's now 22 months and still plays with it constantly. He "pretends" to be fixing everything. If your looking for a toy drill or tool set, don't buy another brand - this one is perfect. The only negative is it didn't come with other tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrench, etc...). Fisher Price may have a larger tool set that includes a drill, but unless it's the same drill as this one I can't imagine it will measure up.

I purchased the Black & Decker Junior Deluxe 42 Piece Tool Set yesterday, and am very disappointed in the product (Black & Decker Junior Deluxe 42 Piece Tool Set ). The reason for buying the Black & Decker 42 piece set was to have most any toy my son would eventually ask for. He's already asking for the screwdriver. The Black & Decker set included a drill, but it is worthless compared to this Fisher Price Drill set.

I would buy the Fisher Price Drillin Action Tool Set again. If I were you, I would continue looking for another full set of tools though. Don't buy the Black & Decker brand though.

This is a great toy for kids. My daughter lover hers. Just be careful she/he will want to graduate to real screws around the house if she/he enjoys it. The hammer didn't get played with much. Great for motor skill in my opinion. - Tool Set - Toddler - Fisher Price - Hammer'

Portable Vehicle Gps - tomtom, large screen

I have been using TomTom Car Navigation products for several years now. This is my 4th unit. The last unit I possessed was the 'TomTom GO 740 Live'. So I was excited about the newest offering from this company. Having used this product for a few days, here's my 2 cents.. (please remember, this is being reviewed in relation to other TomTom products. I am not comparing this to units from other manufacturers)

The Good..

** This unit is sleeker and better looking than any of the previous models.

** The 5" screen makes a world of difference compared to the 4.3" inches on most other models. So if you can, opt for the 2505 and not the 2405.

** The screen is brighter than other models. Seems to hold well in bright sunlight.

** Very crisp and pleasing visuals. The text and graphics are sharper and more responsive.

** Extremely quick planning and re-planning of routes - that's the new Turbo Routing feature. Works pretty well.

** The car dock is very innovative. Sturdier and better mechanics. The magnetic process needs a little getting used to, especially when undocking.

** The automatic time zone setting for the Clock is a nice feature.

** Comes with Lifetime Map updates and Traffic.

The Bad...

** There is no docking station! You need to plug the USB cable manually for syncing/charging with the PC.

** For Traffic updates, the unit needs to be plugged into the car charger since the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver is integrated into the car charging cable.

** No LIVE services. So if you need Google service or latest gas prices, you are out of luck.

** No memory card slot. So if you run over the 4GB limit, better start deleting stuff.

** No FM transmitter. No option to play voice through the the radio.

** No music player.

** No compass option.

** Comes preloaded with only 1 English 'Computer' voice - 'Stephanie'. No options to download Voices!! Seriously, TomTom??!! (Update: TomTom says more will be available soon. No timeline yet).

The Ugly..

** As others have documented, no customization is possible - yet. Cannot update/download Voices, POIs, Maps, Color Schemes etc. You live with what comes pre-loaded. No timeline on when options would be available.

And a couple of irritants:

** The 'next street name' that displays at the top right hand corner is too small to read relative to everything else on the screen.

** When making a phone call using the unit's bluetooth, the call status bar at the top blocks the 'next street name'. And you can't get rid of that status bar until you hang up. That's pretty dumb.

In short, this is not quite a step up from the 740 as I had expected. The focus here seems to have been on the style, not much on the substance. Having used this for a couple of weeks now, I've grown to like it. Extremely efficient and accurate. If you're looking for a product that can accurately and efficiently get you from Point A to Point B, this is the one for you.

This seems like a product that was rushed into the US market without the proper support structure behind it. This is the US version of the TomTom 'Go LIVE 1005' launched recently in Europe. The customer service reps know very little about this product. There are no User Manuals online yet. The PC sync to the web-based MyTomTom is an utter joke.

Bottom line, if I had to do it all over again, I'd stick with the 740 until TomTom gets its act together on this one. TomTom GO 2505TM 5-Inch Portable Bluetooth GPS Navigator with Lifetime Traffic & Maps

With the 2505TM, TomTom has built the best vehicle navigator I've ever used. It's shortcomings apply mostly when you or a passenger would like to be the navigator yourself and use the GPS as a tool to do so.

COMPARED TO THE TomTom XL SERIES:

=================================

The last GPS I tried was a TomTom XXL 540TM. I had three problems with the interface on it that I hoped would be fixed in TomTom's latest and greatest.

First, the 540TM didn't list enough street names when displaying the map. The TomTom GO 2505TM is substantially better in this regard. Everything about the display on this unit is fantastic, it's clear and very bright. The graphics appear to be better anti-aliased and look quite polished.

Second, points of interest are still poorly organized and displayed. Restaurants aren't organized by cuisine, and the screen does not update distances while driving around. In a city, there might be hundreds of restaurant choices within a few miles, but they might not all be nearby by the time one finishes reading them all. I much prefer how Garmin displays the distance and direction each POI is in while the list displays, it's much more informative.

Third, I could not drag the map to look up ahead while the unit was navigating. My wife likes to do this while I drive; she'll manually look for alternate routes or shopping centers. To browse a map in the TomTom, one has to click into an entirely different mode, then click through another set of prompts to get the map centered on the car's current location. From there the maps will still not update the car's location as it moves along, meaning the user sees a static map with a "this is where you used to be" marker. I'm sorry to say this has not been fixed in the 2505TM and it's inexcusably bad. This GPS is not a tool for exploring the surrounding area on the go.

There are many other improvements to TomTom's latest and greatest that I will discuss in the other sections.

ROUTING:

========

Routing (and re-routing) was drastically faster than the 540TM. It's actually closer to Google Maps speed than a traditional GPS, which is quite a leap over TomTom's previously slower-than-average routing. You'll have your first instruction before being out of the driveway. It seemed accurate, but I never really had a problem with routing on the previous unit either. I did notice the unit picking different routes depending on the direction I was traveling or the time of day, which means the IQ routes really works. (On the roads I knew, I agreed with its choices.) The unit picked up a GPS signal inside my home in seconds, pretty impressive.

TRAFFIC:

========

Traffic reporting is excellent, informative, and non-intrusive when the GPS has a signal. I found it to be impressively up-to-date, so much so that the backups I saw in real life matched up exactly with the markings on the map. Traffic data is through Clear Channel, the preferred provider in most areas, although coverage isn't nearly what Clear Channel advertises. There are no advertisements unlike Garmin's Navteq traffic service (Garmin sells an ad-free subscription to Clear Channel traffic for $60). Unfortunately I find I only had a signal in metro areas. Traveling north of Baltimore, the GPS was routing me around a huge back-up after the toll on I-95. However, once outside of Baltimore, the unit announced it found a faster route going directly up I-95. I thought the traffic had cleared, but what had really happened was the GPS forgot it was there. I ended up sitting in an hour-long backup. I should have known; TomTom does have a clear display showing whether it has a traffic data connection or not, and it additionally gives an option to keep or dismiss any route changes based on traffic (or lack thereof).

VOICE COMMANDS / BLUETOOTH:

===========================

The voice recognition understood what I was saying, but it only does basic commands with no on-screen tips as to what can be said. The voice commands must be memorized and, as best as I can tell, the available commands weren't comprehensive enough that I'd actually use them very often. It's much quicker and easier to tap through the menus.

The unit would not connect to my cell phone via bluetooth, but my cell phone is several years old. I've actually never tried using the bluetooth on it before, but I was nonetheless disappointed that I wasn't finally able to. The TomTom would only get as far as finding the phone, but it couldn't do the handshaking to register the device. I like the option to call any point of interest with a button press and wish I could have tested this!

QUALITY:

========

The sound/speaker quality was very clear, and the voice is an improvement over previous TomToms. It might not be louder (and needn't be), but it's definitely clearer at full volume. Pronunciations of street names still isn't perfect is nonetheless the best that I've heard. I like that TomTom reads all names for a street when multiple aliases exist. Additionally, lane guidance and listings of sequential turns work very well. There is no annoying "route recalculating" warning nor does the voice get overly repetitious as with some other GPS units I've tried.

Sadly the manual says that voice commands are disabled if one of TomTom's celebrity voices is loaded. Too bad, I like the Yoda voice which I had on the 540TM. "In 100 yards, turn right, you will." I wish TomTom could kick over to a computer voice for the things Yoda doesn't know how to say so that entire parts of the GPS aren't disabled. Although...

The TomTom Home software has been dropped in favor of a browser-based web updater. I don't see how how to buy or manage new voices or maps on this model, at least not at this time. What a shame! When checking for updates online, the device came up as a TomTom GO 1005, the European equivalent. Perhaps TomTom rushed this model out the door?

The unit feels solid overall and looks sleek. The magnetic mount is brilliant and had me wishing everyone built their mounts this way. I like to yank the GPS out of the cradle, and it's very quick and easy to do with the magnetic mount. It's a huge improvement over TomTom's old design! The power button is a little flimsy feeling and has to be held down for about two full seconds before the unit turns on.

CONCLUSION:

===========

All-in-all, it's a good unit, but it's not what I'm looking for. It's the best GPS I've ever used for taking a driver from A to B with clear directions, but it's a poor tool for a human navigator to use to explore the surrounding area while on the move. While I sincerely believe TomTom has the best routing and spoken instruction of any GPS, it simply doesn't feel like a navigation tool. I'm going to return it and hope the new Garmin 2360LMT does not have the same issues.

UPDATE: COMPARED TO THE GARMIN 3790T

====================================

I tried the Garmin 3790t, and while the Garmin improves in a few areas (better POI organization, easy map scrolling, usable voice command), the TomTom is at LEAST a generation better in finding accurate routes, displaying traffic information, and communicating with the driver. On a 500 mile stretch of I-85, the TomTom would announce it as such (while still reminding me which lane to stay in) while the Garmin continued to tell my of non-existent "turns" onto the road I was already on throughout the entire journey. Little is more irritating than being told by the GPS to change lanes for an upcoming "turn" when the actual instruction is merely to continue straight.

Garmin's lane guidance with the newest firmware (as of 12/5/2010) would only blink on the screen for a fraction of the second. It was useless.

GPS accuracy on the 3790t seemed to be lousy. It took a while to get a lock on the satellites, unlike the TomTom. Then, it would sometimes get confused about which road I was on, necessitating a route recalculation. Unfortunately route recalculations can take a minute or longer on the Garmin instead of seconds on the TomTom. As such, TomTom doesn't even need to announce a "route recalculating" message since it's rerouted in the time it would take to say it.

Take for example, Baltimore. Garmin tried to have me exit on an imaginary road after the tunnel. When I "missed" my turn, it could not recaluclate my route in time to tell me to take I-295. Luckily, I knew the turn, but unfortunately, Garmin later discovered traffic on that route. Even though the backup was lengthy, it did not warn me verbally of the congestion nor did it offer an alternate route. I've done this in the TomTom and it has done stellar here.

I was ready to throw the Garmin out the window after a long trip. I can't believe what a disappointment it was. While the 3790t has a higher-resolution screen than the TomTom 2505, the colors and information on the TomTom make for a better presentation- especially the timeline-style traffic display. I can't emphasize enough how much better TomTom's traffic implementation is than Garmin. Plus, the TomTom's larger screen makes for easier key entries. In practice TomTom's display is much nicer than Garmin's.

Garmin's traffic receiver cannot be plugged in while the GPS is being handheld, either. Another win for TomTom, even though map browsing (what my wife tends to handhold the GPS for) is a chore on the TomTom.

Like the TomTom, the Garmin would not connect to my phone using bluetooth. Both would see it but get no farther. I guess my phone is too old.

TomTom's computer voices sound better. The magnetic mount is much nicer.

Without a doubt, even with TomTom's inconveniences I listed earlier, it's a better GPS. Maybe Garmin's newer, but lower-end GPS's (the 2300 series) will do better. - Bluetooth - Portable Vehicle Gps - Large Screen - Tomtom'

Beach Wedding

I received this book as a gift about a month before my wedding. I was going totally crazy with self-doubt about how the wedding was going to turn out. I just wanted everyone to have a great time and for it to go smoothly. But from the minute I started reading even the first introduction, I felt reassured and full of hope that we were on the right track, or that we would be soon with just a little effort. Not only does this book have everything you can possibly think of, it's a pleasure to read and easy-to-use. It helped to make our wedding more wonderful than we ever dreamed. Everything we needed was all there...a total lifesaver. We not only were able to deal with our bandleader with some authority, together, we worked out a great plan for the whole wedding program using the great ideas and tips in the guide book. The forms in the workbook were amazing because they led us every step of the way. We're still getting calls telling us what a wonderful wedding we had and how good a time everybody had - and how they loved the music. Speaking of music, we actually used the CD at the wedding. We loved the Celtic feel of "The Wedding Song" and we used it before the ceremony. Also, I fell in love with the instrumental of "Con Te Partiro" and used it for our processional. We both still listen to the album and it brings back wonderful memories. I wish every wedding could have the warmth and the closeness we all seemed to feel that day and we owe so much of that to the music planning guidance from "How to Set Your Wedding to Music". I'd give it a 5 star rating. How To Set Your Wedding To Music - the Complete Wedding Music Guide (Book only)

I just loved reading this book! The table of contents alone was an education. I realized how many things there were to consider besides the songs themselves. We'd both been to so many boring weddings! I was beginning to worry if everybody would have a great time at ours. Not only is "How To Set Your Wedding To Music" loaded with great ideas and information from beginning to end, it's totally easy and fun to read. Most of all, it helped us plan a fabulous wedding program. We were guided every step of the way by the workbook pages, and the forms helped us create the total program for the whole wedding. Everybody loved it. Everybody was part of everything. And thank goodness for the first rate concise chapter on dealing with DJs and bands. Without this book, I know our wedding would not have turned out to be so wonderful for us and for everyone there. Not only friends, but our aunts and uncles and cousins of all generations are still raving about what a great time they had and how terrific the music was. It makes us feel so good to know that everyone we care about really felt part of it all. I'd give this book the highest rating. Don't plan your wedding without it!

If your wedding music is great, then your wedding is great. This book helped us do that. We were able to create this wonderful emotional feeling at our ceremony and a great party at our reception by following their suggestions. Not only was the book full of all kinds of tips and info we didn't know about planning music, but the CD was fabulous as well. We used almost all of it. Some of our guests wanted to know what Cd it was because they all loved the music. There are new versions of some old wedding songs that are really beautiful, like The Wedding Song and Sunrise Sunset. I never heard them done like that before and probably wouldn't have used those songs because they usually sound so old-fashioned. But these were like they had just been done for my wedding. This was the first time I'd seen a music guide for weddings, expecially with a CD and I'm thrilled I found it.

I was just about to add my "rave" review when I read the review by "Chicagoland." I can't believe what she said about this CD. Yes, there were a few songs from soap opera wedding scenes. But these are great songs written especially for weddings. One was even an Emmy winner. If you're looking for a song that not everone else will play, you will find it here - beautiful alternatives and yes, my fiance loved them also. The traditional favorites don't sound like all the others - they sound much better- not overblown and sloppy like so many wedding CDs. These were creatively and tastefully done. I'm using many of them. As far as the book, Chicagoland couldn't possibly have read it. There was so much helpful and unexpected advice I've never seen anywhere else. In fact my DJ loved it. He said he's going to give it as a gift to all his new clients so they can be prepared. As far as the author making reccomendations, I appreciated how interested she seemed to be in making my wedding wonderful.I guess there are some people you can never please and Chicagoland must be one of them. I agree with the raves. Both the CD and the book are great!!!

I ordered this book based on the rave reviews I read about it here on Amazon. I thought I should write my own opinion so that people looking to buy this have a fair idea of what it is. I purchased this book and CD hoping to get a collection of all the wedding songs I'd like played at my wedding - what no one mentions is that the songs on the CD do NOT sound anything like the originals. Not only that, but the author has penned some of her own songs that are really quite corny and not even musically pleasing, in my opinion. I think a wedding song should be special to the bride and groom - not to some unknown author. I guess if you're a soap opera fan, the inclusion of some love/wedding songs from a few soaps will be a bonus for you - for me, it was wasted space. Even if you're a big soap fan and love one of these songs, I'll bet your fiance isn't - and won't appreciate these not-hot songs being played at his wedding. All in all, I was sorely disappointed in this purchase and regretted it almost immediately after hearing and reading it. The tips in the book are no better than, "Look for a good DJ!" "Pick your own music - it's YOUR day!" Many DJ's not only accept your music, but ASK for your opinion, especially on things like first dance, etc. This is no big secret. Most of the author's recommendations are for "original" songs she's written! How tacky! Brides on a budget: save your money and get your nails done for what this costs. And I say this even though I have a copy that I'm dying to unload (Perfect condition - listened to once, unfortunately!)'

Apple Ipad Stylus - ipad, acase

This is an excellent stylus. I don't often use a stylus with my iPad - but did have a pogo sketch ten one for sketching. This stylus is a much more practical device for normal sized (man's) hands. The pogo stylus is thin, small, and much to light - I would get cramps in my hand with using it for more than five minutes or so.

Another plus compared to the pogo sketch is the clip. On the pogo - it's a cheap piece of plastic with broke quickly. On the Acase stylus it is a metal clip... doubt this will break anytime soon.

With the price point of both being so close, unless you need a very small stylus, or you have small hands - I'd suggest looking at the Acase stylus to use with your iPad. Acase Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, BlackBerry Playbook (Jet Black)

This stylus works perfectly with my ipad. It is infinitely better than the Pogo which I had previously purchased - the rubbery tip is more stable and precise, the shaft is thicker and easier to hold, and the metal clip seems much more likely to hold up than the plastic Pogo clip, which broke within days.

Using it with the "Penultimate" app, my handwriting has never looked so good! Also- gives me almost perfect results with the "Writepad" handwriting recognition software, which I had pretty much abandoned until this arrived. I'm thrilled!

In case you were wondering, this appears to be exactly the same product as the Boxwave, and comes with the same goofy dongle meant for securing it to the earphone jack. The dongle is easily removed - I have no use for it.

Short and sweet:

I've tried three of the stylus brands offered on Amazon: The $15.00; the $11.99 aCase; and the cheap three-pack "Universal Touch Screen Stylus.".

It is easy to tell you which not to buy: the cheap ones. The rubber tips on them have too much friction. You can't write or draw easily; you literally feel like the Stylus is getting stuck on the screen. Guaranteed, one zillion percent, you will hate it.

Now, to the Boxwave vs. the aCase.

This isn't just a draw; there's not even a fight, because the two products are exactly the same (there's one subtle difference in the way the little headphone-jack string insert is attached to the pen. One uses a tiny, carbiner-type hook, and the other a ring. You'd probably never notice the difference, because there is non.

So, which to buy? The aCase is three dollars cheaper, but it only comes in black. That's it.

[...]

I really love this stylus! I play a lot of games on my iPad and so many of them are easy using this stylus. I feel like my movements are so much more accurate, plus when the screen gets hot, as it inevitably does when you get sucked into a game, I no longer have the problem of my fingers not gliding across the screen as easily as they do when the screen is cool.

The only thing I didn't like was the little attachment to attach the stylus to the headphone jack, probably to secure it. I could just see it swinging and cracking my screen one day. Luckily it's extremely easy to remove and you can't tell it was once there.

Great product! I'd buy another one if I lost mine!

One major reason I got the iPad is to draw on it. Artists will naturally understand the benefits of drawing on a screen rather then a wacom tab. Many styluses available have poor reviews when it comes to moveing the tip across the screen or accuracy. Both qualities are required for drawing.

This stylus tip is a soft bubble that slides very easily over the screen, even if the screen is a little dirty. The bubble doesn't seem to effect accuracy. It should be mentioned that the screen itself does not have the same input resolution as a piece of paper, which is why many drawing apps have a zoom function for fine details.

It's well balanced and well weighted to feel like a lightewieght pen, the tip feels like a high quality supple latex or silicone of some sort

Use a microfiber cloth under your hand to avoid unintentional palm inputs, and get the bonus of cleaning your screen. This feels similar to using a piece of paper to avoid smudging soft pencil marks.

Coupled with a premium drawing app ( I used the $7.99 autodesk sketchbook pro), drawing on the iPad becomes so natural it's scary. It's also good for pointing and using the keyboard.

One potential downside is it you make a habit of pushing too hard on it, I could image the Metal ring around the supple tip may eventual puncture the side. I could also imagine the tip could "dry out" over a year or two, becoming hard and less effective. That's all speculation, but I would expect 1-2 years of regular use out of this product.

PROS: Accurate, smooth, inexpensive, feels good to use. Great for drawing and pointing.

CONS: none, except possible wear and tear on the tip may mean a 1-2 year life Span.

One star on cheap plastic, because it's not cheap plastic.

After three stylus, I've finally found the one! I can finally make notes on my pdf documents in I-annotate by hand. This stylus doesn't require a ton of pressure like the other junky one's Ive bought in the past. Perfect for graduate students like me that use a ton of academic articles for their research but have a hard time relying on on a keyboard or their finger to make notes. Great product!!!

To the point of an earlier reviewer. I have ordered many different styli (on my fourth), and the first three (this one, Boxwave stylus, and Ten One) were about a half inch too short for writing/drawing.

The fourth (the Boxwave Styra with the built in pen) is about a half-inch longer and feels much better. Still wouldn't mind another another 1/2 inch, but much more comfortable. - Ipad - Iphone Stylus - Stylus - Acase'

Knife-setting Jigs - sharpening, sharpening tools

I bought this for light touch-up on planer blades between sharpening; It didn't do much. I think for this to be effective, it needs to include some sort of attatchment for maintaining an angle against the cutting blade. It is supposed to work by just putting the edge of the plastic against the cutter knife, and sliding back and forth a few times at the appropriate angle. Well, unless you've got robotically perfect arms, you're not going to be able to keep the angle correct. If you could maintain that angle, you might be able to touch up a micro bevel, but nothing substantial at all. They were relatively effective when removing the burr created though. That aspect was pretty foolproof. They cost me less than a professional sharpening, so I figure I'm not out too much, but I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Steelex D1123 Jointer and Planer Sharpener

The Jointer Blade Hone has it's place in the shop if used in a timely manner, however honing the beveled side of the blade I find that the plastic honing stone holder offers resistance to the movement of the tool across the blade. When enough force is applied to overcome the resistance it is done so in the blink of the eye and the tool slips off the blade thus putting your hand in danger of coming in contact with the blade.

The key here is to not try and sharpen your planer blades while they are on your machine. You simply cannot achieve the correct angle with the blades moving and they will. What I did what remove the blades and secured them to my vice. That way you can get a remarkably sharp edge without spending a lot of money. Well worth it's inexpensive price. - Woodworking - Chisels - Sharpening Tools - Sharpening'

Noodlers - noodlers, fountain pen ink

Purchased this Noodler's to round out my ink assortment and really didn't have a "quiet' purple, one that would be useful on business letterhead as well as personal notes. This color is truly "royal" having a tinge of purple, yet being predominantly blue. And the shading is quite exquisite when used with an italic or broad/blunt nib. Highly recommended if you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, yet still in the blue family Noodlers Fountain Pen Ink - La Coleur Royale (purple)

This is a great all-purpose ink. I have tried several Noodler's brand inks, and all of them work great. I filled an inexpensive pen I found on Ebay with this ink, and it actually made the pen usable. Smooth flow, fast drying time, and bullet proof once it bonds to the paper.

As a professor I grade 75+ papers, quizzes, exams, outlines, etc. a week, and I was looking for an inexpensive and distinctive way to mark papers. Not only did switching to a fountain pen make grading just a little bit more fun, it also brought the cost way down. Additionally, I can pick a pen that fits my writing style and fill it with one color ink one week, and a different color the following week. I am not limited to Red, Black, and Blue for correcting papers, and my students think it is "cool" that I have fountain pen.

Just received it in the mail. It is a darker looking purple with a more bluish feel to it. I like the color, but it tends to feather more more than my Noodler's black bulletproof ink. Will be good for taking notes in class.

I just got this ink in the mail today and I have been using it all day. First off, this is an excellent ink! It has a nice deep purple color. I don't see what other reviewers are saying about the blue hue. It must be the paper they are using or something. I work as a quality control rep for samsung televisions- my eyes are trained to find the devil in the details, especially in colors. I definetely do not see any blue in this ink. Just as the name suggests it looks like a royal purple. Another name I would call it is grape purple, its just a dark purple color. Don't get me wrong, I love this ink, I'm just saying that its purple and not a blue-purple hybrid (which would be cool).

My Lamy Safari with a 1.1 Calligraphy Nib loaded with this ink lays a nice wet line that dries quickly. The ink glides the pen across the paper with a very smooth and very consistant line without scratching. Line consistency is great with this ink compared to Noodlers Polar Black (only other Noodlers I've used). I can make my signature or write very quickly and the line consistency has never failed even with my extra fine nib.

On notebook paper and drawing pad paper the ink leaves no apparent feathering on the page, even with constant use. However, I use standard printer paper to fill out forms at work and I must say that I'm a tad dissapointed in the inks performance on printer paper. There is a lot of feathering, nothing severe, but noticible and slightly annoying. I do understand that not every ink will work on every type of paper so I'm not making a big deal out of it. I'm simply pointing out the drawbacks of this ink and what areas it does not perform at its best.

Overall this is a great ink with a beautiful color. La Coleur Royale gives me hope in other Noodler colors that I purchased after using this ink. I have used Noodler's Polar Black (which you can read the review on amazon) and after that I didn't think Noodlers was worth using. I now realize I was wrong. I highly recommend this ink for anyone who is looking for a smooth, wet, quick drying, ink that leaves a very consistent line quality. I also recommend this ink for anyone who is a fan of the color purple but isnt looking for a bright, flamboyant shade, but more of a professionally darker shade of the purple spectrum.

I've always using Noodler's ink when stealing a converter full for one of my various fountain pens. Finally, I made the switch from my usual daily grind with Namiki Blue-Black to some Noodler's La Coleur Royale. Boy, this ink is great.

Right out of the bottle, the ink flowed very nicely--and the neutral pH that is advertised is all that. Dipping a steel nib, gold or even the platinum group plated nib did not leave a trace left over. Very impressive.*

The colour believe it or not does not vary much with the nib used. Extra-fine through broad lay down a nice line that is not lighter or darker. The size of the nib is not the determiner, it's the pressure used when writing. Not many inks have a very similar colour in the various nibs (a broad nib often is darker and more saturated then your extra fine).

Speaking of colour, the ink looks nearly identical from what you see in the listing. Knowing full well that it is always difficult to judge ink from a computer screen you will not be disappointed. Purple ink is very rich, but the reason why I love this one so much compared to the others I've used is that this is a deep purple. Truly "royale." So, men out there, don't fret about being judged it is a masculine purple and just as professional as a blue-black ink.

Last of all, there is the lingering question about how it rests on paper. It's very forgiving. From moleskine notebooks (which some say feathers too much for fountain pens) to very inexpensive notebooks the ink lays down nicely. The only noticeable feathering comes from a broad nib on very inexpensive printer paper (not that awesome Xerox paper). So unless you're using 10 pence paper from a corner store, noodler's ink is some of the most forgiving out there.

All in all, I'm very happy with this ink and colour.

Financial Calculator - finance calculator, cfa

I have been using the HP12C for about 20 of the 25 years it has been around. I love the calculator, and this is why I have used it for so long. I would recommend a purchase of an HP 12C to everyone. I also recommend purchasing the HP 12C instead of this anniversary edition. I only have a couple reasons for this.

1) The keys of the anniversary edition do not respond as well as on the regular HP 12C. For example, when I turn on the anniversary edition, I have to check to make sure it actually turns on.

2) The quality of the anniversary edition is just not on par with the regular HP 12C. For example, the screen on the anniversay edition is already getting scratched up. I have a twenty year old and a five year old HP 12C, and neither of them has any scratches on the screen. Also the keys are just not as solid and they don't have the nice tactile feel of the regular HP 12C. The anniversary edition just feels cheap.

So I would recommend skipping the anniversary edition for the regular HP 12C. HP 12C Platinum Financial Calculator

The HP12c Platinum 25th Anniversary Edition (HP12cPAE) is the 2006 special commemorative limited edition model and the second official upgrade of the original HP12C. The HP12c Platinum (HP12cP version 1.0) has been improved since its released in 2003. Although the HP12cPAE is based on the HP12cP version 2.0,it would has its historical place as the 4th model in the HP12C lineage since 1981 and may be unofficially designated as HP12c Platinum version 3.0.

FIRST LOOK AND FEEL. HP has showcased this upgrade with an overall quality in both the looks and feel department. The "new" retro-styling and colours of the HP12cPAE closely resembles the exterior of the silver plated HP11C, a made in the 1980s HP scientific calculator cousin of the gold HP12C. As a bonus, HP had made this a special purchase for the fans and new owners by including a nice black 25th anniversary "PDA" style leather pouch with the HP12cPAE. The overall construction is firm and solid and the improved keypad buttons has a very nice tactile feel indeed. For better viewing, users can now adjust the contrast of the clear LCD display screen.

WHAT'S NEW? Since the HP12cPAE is faithfully and conservatively built on the time-proven functionality of the HP12C, existing users should not expect to see any major hardware and software improvements. However,it is evident that HP had listened to its customers negative feedback on its first half hearted attempt to upgrade the HP12C with the slow HP12cP version 1.0 released in 2004. HP had dutifully responded to its customers negative feedback on the HP12cP v1.0 and and demostrated their wholehearted effort with the HP12cPAE by incorporating all necessary enhancements which could be possibly squeezed into the package to expand the capabilities of the classic HP12C.

HARDWARE ENHANCEMENTS. The current upgrade is 6 times faster than the HP12C as claimed and probably 10 times faster than its slow early release HP12cP when performing certain TVM calculations. The improved speed is now up to par with cheaper products from its competitors. This upgrade has four times more data storage memory which is sufficient for input of up to 80 cashflows or 400 programming steps. With the HP12cPAE, advanced users have a more powerful tool which would enable them to store more keystroke programs into their HP12cPAE, to perform routine complex and customized financial calculations by executing the programs stored in its memory.

THE HP12C NICHE. Potential new users of HP12C series of financial calculators should be aware that the proven form factor of the HP12cPAE is quite a novelty product to get used to. Despite the age of its design, if new users are looking for the unique RPN input method and user programming capability, the HP12C series and the HP17B2 series are the only choices available.

AGAINST THE COMPETITION. It is difficult to compare the user programmable HP12C series against offerings by other manufacturers, simply because no HP rivals has ever managed to produce an equivalent product to challenge the HP12C series. Advanced "power" users of financial calculators would appreciate that complex financial calculation, such as the Black-Scholes European Option Pricing Model formula could be keystroke programmed and stored into any HP12C series. HP12C, HP12cP (versions 1.0 & 2.0) and HP12cPAE users could recall the program from memory to perform routine computations repeatedly.

WHO SHOULD BUY IT? A fan of the HP12C with some spare cash on hand would probably grab a HP12cPAE off the retail shelf without thinking too hard. From my personal experience, new users to the HP12C series would find that the HP12C actually glows on you and grows with you once you are familar with it.

WOULD IT BECOME A COLLECTOR'S ITEM? Savvy consumers should know that the HP12cPAE is mass produced and sold worldwide as a mainstream consumer product. IMHO, the HP12cPAE would have to be made with real titanium, platinum or gold plated parts and engraved with unique serial numbers if it were to qualify as a rare collector's item. Only time and actual HP sales quantity would determine if any collector-speculator would profit from an auction sale of a new and sealed HP12cPAE on e-Bay.

WOULD I RECOMMEND IT? Yes, definitely. By improving the on the HP12C, HP has again demonstrated in the HP12cPAE (and HP12cP version 2.0) that with the right effort even a good product design can be improved upon at the matured stage of its product life cycle. Now, there is a real rival for the much loved classic HP12C, and it is no other than its successor, the HP12cPAE. Realistically,it is difficult to keep improving a near perfect product such as the iconic HP12C. Judging by the high industry standard it has set, the HP12C would probably celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2031.

Chain Saw - gas-powered, chain saw

This chainsaw has worked out well for us on our Avocado ranch. We bought 5 of them and let abusive employees use them on and off for about 5 years. We're down to three that still run. You can buy a replacement bar and a few chains for them and the engines will run for quite a while. After the engine goes, just toss them. We used to have an expensive Stihl which lasted even less time and then would have cost $250 to rebuild. We just threw it away and started using disposables. If you're not going to use it for a while, drain all the gas out or you'll be sorry. Poulan P3416 16-Inch 34cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Chain Saw

It's a Poulan. It has a powerful, but compact 34cc engine that didn't complain too much starting for the first time in 28 degree (F) weather. The instructions for starting the chainsaw are in pictures by the handle. The instruction manual was a little more technical, but cold starts are a snap. You pull the handle five times, then pump the little primer bulb 6 times, then pull till it starts.

It's got an Anti-vibration handle on it that really makes for comfortable operation of the saw. It is small, but you can feel its 11.8 pound mass after welding it for a couple of hours. The vibration is very low. The "sweet spot" on the cutting chain is right where you'd expect it to be. It is noisy, so wear ear plugs. The operation of the saw is cleaner than I expected. It directed saw dust away from me, but some dust did accumulate in the area where automatic chain oiler works - not an excessive amount, but it was noticeable. You definitely want to wear eye protection when using this or any saw. The instruction manual spends a lot of time discussing kickback. If you are careful and pay attention to your technique, you can minimize kickback and other problems. There is an inertia activated chain brake on the saw just in case though.

This saw is small and inexpensive. It's got plenty of power too. It fits well with the type of work that I need it for. I cleared the very large Bradford Pear tree in my front yard that was split open by an ice storm in just an hour and a half.

Highly recommend it for odd jobs and occasional work. Mine came with a one Year Guarantee too. The Poulan Chainsaw is Made in the USA.

Still own one of these saws, bought back when it was called a "Woodsman", nearly ten years ago. Have cut I don't know how many large trees down (some I had to walk around with it) since we moved to the country, and had many Live Oaks that developed oak wilt. Not light duty work, I've worked the heck out of it, cutting those large trees all the way to firewood. Still running, still strong. Have replaced the bar twice, the chain three times. Used it yesterday and it was leaking chain oil. Took it apart and cleaned it, think I fixed it. Will find out later today. If I didn't, I'm glad to find that I can buy another one like it right here on Amazon.

Wouldn't consider buying another brand, after the success I've had with this one.

This is a very nice chainsaw and it is a good value but I had several problems with it upon receiving it. First, I wasn't able to get it started. I followed the instructions and tried dozens of times to get it started. I even had a neighbor who used to use chainsaws for a living try to start it and it wouldn't start. I then sent it to the warranty place. A week later they called me to tell me they had no trouble starting it. I has to pay $30 for that diagnosis. When I was finally able to get it started on my own, it worked great. The other complaint I have is that tightening the chain is a very cumbersome process.

Poulan P3416 16-Inch 34cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Chain Saw I had a faulty chain break and the saw froze after 2 uses. Poulan honored their warranty and replaced the saw. Once you get the idea of starting up, it is a good saw for the money.

This is my fifth chainsaw and has immediately become my favorite. The 16" bar is less than half the length of the bar of my Stihl 650. But unless I'm cutting down forest giants, I prefer to use the Poulan P3416. It cuts surprisingly fast, it weighs a whole lot less than the 650, it has excellent fuel capacity, and it is very sturdy. It's also the least noisy of all my saws, due in part to the fact that the exhaust exits the front of the saw.

Six pick-up loads of firewood later it's still cutting like a champ without so much as a touch-up to the chain. (I should mention that the auto-oiler works very well, yet bar oil doesn't leak all over the place like it does with the Stihl.) I highly recommend this saw. At this price, buy two! I rather think I will.

This is the first and only chainsaw I've ever owned. I bought it in 1999, I believe from Home Depot when they still sold Poulan in San Diego. I used it for clearing an easement that was heavily overgrown with sucker trees, and for lots of tree trimming and clearing of downed branches.

I've run through 2 blades, so it hasn't been VERY heavily used, but for the average homeowner I can't imagine you needing anything more than this saw. For the money, it's a bargain. Definitely drain it for storage as others have mentioned. I'm currently in the process of hunting down replacement fuel line, as it has crumbled after a few years of improper storage. I had to fully dissasemble and clean the carb and the rest of the unit, but it still works (well, it did last summer so I'm sure it will still run with the new lines installed). Highly recommended.

First, this saw has NEVER started on the first, second or even third pull. For $100, I wasn't expecting it to do so. However, it does start and eventually runs fine. They're stretching the engine a bit with the 16in bar. As well, the stock Poulan bar is too flimsy. Nonetheless, I've ran it now for 2 years for light/med duty on my 25acre homestead. Maintenance wise it's been a breeze and well worth the $100 I put into it.

Now here's the best part for me. After finally wearing out my 2nd chain for this bar...it was time to also replace the bar. Instead of another 16in Poulan bar, I purchased a 14in Oregon bar/chain package for $33. With this shorter/stronger bar and chain better matched to the engine size...this chainsaw is easily 100% better than new. It's speed and ease of cutting is phenomenal. I use it to take down birch and smaller pine and limbing larger trees that I fell.

In fact, I'm so enamored with this new setup, I'm now looking for a deal on a new/slightly-used Poulan Pro 4620 that I can do the same by matching to a smaller 18in Oregon bar, as my med/heavy duty saw. - Gas-powered - Chain Saw - Poulan - Chain Saws'

Satellite Radio - internet radio, tabletop radio

I'll answer the two big questions first: Howard Stern? yes. Do you need to keep clicking a button so the radio doesn't shut off? no (see comment below). At least, as of right now. The radio is capable of both software and channel updates.

update: As of now, the Sirius website requires a human click every 90 minutes for streaming audio. This particular radio will play for hours without intervention but will eventually shut off. These features may be updated at whim by Sirius through software updates.

How does it sound? It sounds exactly as described - it's meant to be a tabletop boombox. It's the perfect companion for garage, laundry room, or kitchen. Don't expect real high fidelity sound out of these speakers. It has both a headphone jack and line out jack so it's possible to use amplified speakers or route the output into your home stereo system. When the line output is fed through my home stereo system the sound is wonderful. However, when I plugged my iPod into the aux input I was not impressed with thee quality, which I fault the iPod for.

I've been waiting for a gizmo like this ever since I subscribed to Sirius. I am an apartment dweller with no means for an outdoor antenna. Sirius works great in my car, but the only way I can listen at home is by being chained to my computer. Sirius has always made possible streaming audio from their website. But, every 90 minutes you need to click on the dead man's switch to keep the music flowing. This radio works exactly the same as the Internet streaming but is self-contained with a beautiful display. It also functions as a clock radio, although it's a tad big for the nightstand.

Before purchasing, it's best to become familiar with how streaming audio works on their website. You will need to purchase Internet streaming ability from Sirius in addition to your radio account. Be sure this is all working first.

The radio connects to your local area network via wired Ethernet or wireless with an external 802.11 antenna. You have all the settings available to you - enter the IP address of your choice or select dhcp via wired or wireless. I had a small gotcha, which was it wouldn't connect via WAP so I needed to configure my router for WEP. Everyone is tending to move away from WAP so this was a necessary evil. I entered my ASCII key and it connected just fine. My Sirius username and password worked right away. If you have MAC address filtering, you can retrieve the address via the menus.

The tuner works similar to that of a dashboard radio with a turn and push to click dial. Menus are accessed fairly easily, but it took a little while to get into some of the settings. The first thing I wanted to set was the clock and DST. Be advised that automatic time setting is on by default. The first day, I had to wrestle a bit to get it on the right hour of the day - so, don't set any alarms until you work all this out or put the clock into manual settings if you don't trust it. It's all configurable.

The display has a wonderful signal strength indicator so you can place it for the best reception or switched to wired Ethernet. There is no option for batteries, so you will need an AC outlet and the radio is amazingly heavy for a small box. It has automatic or manual brightness and a remote control, plus an input jack for a CD player or iPod, but no interconnection cables are provided. The display presents the channel name and song name with a nice volume control knob.

If you have Sirius and you're looking for speakers for your iPod or iPhone, get this radio instead of amplified speakers. I'm extremely happy that I can finally listen to Sirius in any room at home without an antenna. You'll need a solid, reliable broadband connection to operate this radio else you will hear dropout's and interruptions. This is not the fault of the radio. Again, test out the streaming audio on your computer first. Sirius TTR1 Tabletop Internet Radio (Black)

I recently purchased this product because I am living in the UK for a couple years and Siruis isn't available anywhere but the US mainland. I had to figure out a way to get this because I can't imagine not having Sirius radio to listen to. This radio is fantastic, the display is great and very well organized, although I wish it was blue instead of amber. All the features were very well thought out. The dual alarms are very convenient and you can choose between a buzzer (which can be set VERY loud) or any Sirius channel. You can set the sleep timer in 5min intervals and the alarm can be set once, daily or weekdays only. It is very easy and simple to set up, you plug it in and then type in your router password and Sirius login info, takes about 2min. The sound is very good, especially for the size of the radio, it is clear and powerful and there are a few different equalizer settings. It works well in the bedroom as an alarm clock or in the living room and is great if you have people over. I dont have the best internet speed where I live but it doesnt phase this radio, no breaks in sound and it is CD quality sound. It also doesnt slow down your internet while it's on. You can set the clock to automatically keep time or manually and you can pick time zones and DST. There is a parental control if you need it. The radio itself is very sturdy and well built, feels very solid. There is one line out and one aux in connection on the left side of the radio. The radio sits great on any flat surface (desk, nightstand, etc.). The only 3 slightly negative things I have to say about this radio is that 1. the buffer time - usually takes about 10sec or so to buffer so if you are trying to switch between stations until you hear a song you like be be prepared to wait on the buffer, but this is to be expected i guess with any internet radio. 2. the size - it is definitely not a compact radio, it will take up your whole nightstand, i was hoping it would be a little smaller however it's not heavy at all if you need to carry it around. 3. no battery option, (and by the way this radio is not dual voltage, 110v only so if you live overseas you need a step down transformer) i wish there was a place for some batteries, even if it was just for backup so you didnt have to reset the clock every time you unplugged it. All in all, this is an outstanding radio and i couldnt have asked for much more.

**Update**: This radio IS in fact Dual Voltage, if you pop off the back cover, there is a port for ethernet and a toggle switch for 110v or 220v. - Tabletop Radio - Internet Radio - Wifi Radio - Sirius'

Great Customer Service - bluetooth, jabra

If you're new to Bluetooth headsets or if you're not a hardcore headset user, this is a really great headset for the money. First of all, I liked how it sits very flush along my face. Other headsets I've seen stick way out and make you look like a cyborg. Secondly, I found it REALLY easy to use. Jabra did a great job when it comes to laying out the location of the buttons. My previous headset had all the buttons on the face and I found that it was hard to find them and often ended up pressing the wrong ones. The BT2080's ANSWER/END button is by itself on the front face. The rocker type volume switch is on the top/side of the headset. It has a dedicated power button on the backside of the headset. On my old headset, I had to press the ANSWER/END button to turn it ON/OFF. Also the location and size of the power button means there is less chance that it will inadvertantly get turned on when its in my pocket or laptop bag. I also love the intuitive "Smart Display" icons. Press any button on the headset and the battery icon lights up either green or red to tell you how much talk-time you have left. The Bluetooth icon also makes pairing much more simple. Flashing blue means the headset is ready to be paired. Solid blue and you're connected to the phone and ready to talk. The first time I turned the headset on it automatically went into "pairing" mode and since I have a newer phone with BT v2.1 I didn't even need to enter the pin code. Another nice thing is that there are no lights on the front so when I'm driving at night, it doesn't light up the car every 3 secs. Finally, the headset was unbelievably comfortable. It has a super soft eargel and I found that the fit was secure enough that I didn't even need to use the optional earhooks (which is helpful since I wear glasses). Finally, in terms of call quality, it was pretty solid. However, if you make most of your calls in high-noise environments I would recommend a more expensive headset with noise cancellation. Bottom line: the BT2080 is a really solid, easy to use headset and a great value. Jabra BT2080 Bluetooth Headset [Retail Packaging]

Let me start off by saying, this is only the second bluetooth headset I've ever owned and they've both been Jabras. I just bought one of these at a local retail store over the weekend. I was hesitant because the old one I had was plagued with the exact same problems this one has, so obviously I should've trusted my intuition and gone another way. The original Jabra bluetooth headset I had was one of their older, less expensive models which I figured was the reason I was having problems with it. The old headset would work great if I was in the car with the phone sitting in the cup holder next to me. I also had to be wearing the headset on the same side of my body that the phone was sitting so there was clear line of sight between the two devices. The minute I would get out of the car and put the phone in my pocket, it started crackling, cutting out, completely losing connection to the phone, and basically becoming a HUGE point of frustration for me. I figured bluetooth technology has to have improved by now so I went to the store and after looking at all of the available options, I chose the Jabra BT2080 because it looked the most comfortable, least bulky, and most cost friendly. I got the thing home, charged it overnight and began using it the next day and wouldn't you know it? The EXACT SAME PROBLEMS as the old model. Now keep in mind I used the old one with 4, yes four different phones of varying brands and models which I've had over the last 4 or 5 years since I bought the old headset, and every time the same result. This phone was no different so I figured it HAD to be the old headset. Nope! It seems like Jabra is the problem. I'm taking this stupid thing back to the store this afternoon and buying the Jawbone, which I should've bought in the first place. Never again Jabra, never again.

Not a bad headet, but one word of caution. The eargel is comfortable but will not last long. It breaks down quickly. The only replacement option from Jabra is a $10 headset kit, with 2 earloops and one eargel. This will get expensive! I called Jabra and there were no other options. If I had known this, I would not have bought it. I am looking for a 3rd party solution...if anyone knows of one.

perfect headset for beginners. basic, nothing fancy, but works great. on/off, volume, mute, which is all you need in a headset. connects to PS3 very well unlike some lower end bluetooth (Motorola H390) headset I've haved.

The price is good, it is easy to set-up and very user friendly. It is not very comfortable to wear, so I do not recommend it to those people who wear their headsets all the time.

One major flaw that I found (maybe it's true for all bluetooth headsets, have not tried others) is that when using it on my computer to make phone calls on Skype, it interferes with my other bluetooth devices such as my Logitech V470 mouse. Hopefully there would be a firmware update to fix this issue.

If I put my phone in my shirt pocket it starts crackling and breaking up. There is less than 3 feet of distance there. That is unacceptable. It earns a star for being so comfortable. Not very useful because the phone has to be right it front of it to work. What is the point of having a wireless headset and having to hold your phone on one hand so they have line of sight? Totally disappointing.

I bought this Bluetooth at a Black Friday sale for $20. This is the second Bluetooth I've had. The first was a Motorola one and it worked great! It worked well with my Razr, my Blackberry pearl, my Nokia e71x and my Blackberry Bold. I heard Jabra was a pretty good brand so I was not hesitant to try it out. I bought it and went straight home to try it out. I can say I was a little disappointed. It sounds very scratchy like the connection isn't strong. To get a good reception, the phone has to be right next to you or an arm's length away, but even then, it has to be strategically placed in order to not have that scratchy sound. Other than that, it is VERY user friendly and it is very comfortable. I LOVE the Eargel part but it also comes with a hook for around your ear. Overall, since I only paid $20 I am not unhappy with the purchase. I would recommend this to a first time Bluetooth user. Hope this helps! - Bluetooth - Ear Piece - Headset - Jabra'

Iphone Case - iphone case, silicone

I have an iPhone 4 from Verizon, and I don't know if is any different from the one from ATnT physically, but the lock button is on the top of the phone on the right side. This cover does not have a hole for the lock button, and is presses it down so your phone is constantly asking you to power off. It is generally an extremely cute cover and I'm sad that I wont be able to use it. Premium TPU Flexi Argyle Gel Skin for Apple iPhone4, 4th Generation, 4th Gen Flexible See Thru Skin, Hot Pink Checkers Plaid Print

This skin doesn't fit on my iPhone 4. It was really small to the point where it wouldn't cover any buttons and would pop off the phone if I tried to put it on. Imagine that the holes cut out on the skin that were made to surround the bottom speakers laid half an inch away. THATS HOW SMALL THIS WAS. I cant believe anyone would sell this, let alone have someone struggle to stretch this material by hand.

The case arrived on time and in perfect condition. The only thing worth a mention is that the color is not so much light pink like it looks in yhe picture but its more of a hot pink, which is great because I like hot pink better! It doesn't feel cheap at all. It fits almost perfectly except on the buttons that are covered, which isn't a big deal. There's no protection for the front of the phone though. But it's cute and it gets the job done.

With a small snip at the mute switch this case was easily modified to fit my wife's Verizon iPhone 4. The best part is the price was about one-tenth of the other name brands cases. So I bought a gray case for my iPhone and now regret not getting a couple of spares.

I have the iPhone 4 fro. Verizon and was hesitant about buying this case b/c of the reviews but figured to give it a try anyway and I am happy that I did!! I like it much better than the case I bought at the verizon store. You can use a screen protector with it and as other reviews said it is a darker color than pictured but it looks and works great!!

I ordered about 5 different "cheap" cases for my wifes Iphone 4G and this is the one that fit BEST. tho ONLY caveat is that the hole for the ringer on off switch seems to be in the wrong spot. doesn't really affect the use or fit at all, just looks dorky.

It has great grip, adds that extra to the feel of the phone in your hand. Makes the phone feel less likely to be broken.

Great find and for the price unbeatable. I got the same one in Gray for myself.

Very good product, my wife likes it and looks expensive . highly recommended case. perfect fit. easy to install. By te way you can't put a screen protectorif your using this case, besides the screen doesn't need a protector unless you keep the phone in you pocket with sandpaper or uncut diamond rocks that can't scratch the face.

This is such a useful case. I am waiting for my free case to come in from Apple, and purchased this in the meantime but I am not sure if I will actually switch over. The argyle and hot pink is such a cute combination. It is a tougher plastic, nicer than the plastic one I had for my blackberry. I love this case!

Also, it was fulfilled through Amazon Prime, which made this transaction just that much faster. I strongly recommend! - Silicone - Basic - Pink - Iphone Case'
