Narrow Crown Stapler - air stapler, staplers

This is a very light weight gun, but really seems to gets the job done. The weight is just over 4lbs, and very easy to use all day long with wearing your arm out. It has a rubberized grip that is easy on the hands and provides a great no slip surface. It is balance well and easy to use on both vertical and horizontal applications. The magazine design is open and lets you see how many staples you have loaded at a glance, and can hold a lot of staples for fewer reloads. The quick jam release works easily, though I have yet to have this stapler jam to try it in action. It can use a larger variety of staple sizes (3/4 to 2 inch) than most similar guns, making it a very versatile tool. It has no problems at all driving a 2 inch staple all the way at 85 PSI. The contact bump firing responds very fast and will flawlessly fire staples as fast as you can go.

There are a few down sides to this gun to consider, but in my opinion they are fairly minor. This gun has to be "warmed up". At the beginning of use it has to be free fired for about 30 second before it will actually drive staples. The manual says to do this in cold weather situations, but it still seems to need it on an 80 degree day. The depth adjustment is not tool free, and the little hex wrench that comes with the gun is a flimsy little throw away. The screw for the depth adjustment was so tight out of the box that the wrench stripped and rounded all the corners before the screw budged. It's quicker and easier to adjust the air pressure to the gun, so not a big deal for me. Lastly, it does not come with a case, oil, sequential trigger kit, or any of the included extras that seem to be the industry standard. You get the gun, the manuals and paperwork, a worthless hex wrench and a pair of safety glasses in a cardboard box.

Over all this is a very high quality gun, and even though it has a few flaws I would recommend it without hesitation. After shooting over 10,000 staples, I have had no real issues (beyond figuring out the "warm up" problem), and truly enjoy using this stapler. Better Than Tarantino - martin sheen, serial killer

This review refers to the Warner Bros DVD edition of "Badlands"...Thirty years ago, young filmakers Terrance Malick(director) and Tak Fujimoto(cinematographer)gave us an advanced preview of their extraordinary talents. And not only that, but the young stars of this film, Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek prove their acting expertise as well.Holly(Spacek), is a naive young girl who becomes enamored by the charismatic but brooding Kit(Sheen). After she is stunned by the brutal murder of her father by the man she loves, she goes on the run with him, and gets caught up in his dark world as he continues on his murder spree. This chilling story was inspired by actual events that occurred in 1958 and Spacek(who also captivatingly narrates), and Sheen capture these troubled youths with perfection and will draw you into every word. Warren Oates turns in a terrific performance as usual, as Holly's father, and of course is not in it nearly long enough. Malick and Fujimoto subtly and artfully create a film, that puts the viewer right there in those "Badlands" of Montana, and that 30 years later will still have you fascinated. The transfer onto DVD is good. There are times when the film shows it's age, but for the most part the clarity and color is fine. The sound remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, although distinct could still be improved on.The music was outstanding but occassionaly the background noises made the dialouge hard to hear. Neither of these things were enough to take away from the enjoyment or flow of the film, and overall it looks great for a 30 year old film. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who appreciates fine film making.Thanx and enjoy....Laurie Badlands

Kit and Holly are presented in this story by Terrence Malick as total innocents, living in a prelapsarian state, completely unaware of right and wrong, good and evil, and ignorant of guilt or sin. They have minimal conception of the consequences of their actions; in effect, they appear almost totally to lack imagination or foresight, and can barely empathise with each other, let alone other people. Things just happen, as Holly sees it. Kit doesn't feel hostility to the people he kills: they are merely in his way. There is no remorse. He is only marginally conscious that the structured world outside his own will eventually catch up with him. These kids are like Adam and Eve, with a limited knowledge of what is forbidden, but no real knowledge of the meaning of life and death. Holly throws out her sick catfish, showing no feeling. Her dog is shot as a punishment by her father, indicating he, too, is careless of death or pain. Kit stands on a dead cow, as though puzzled by its absence of life. Neither of the two seems to cry or laugh much. In one way these characters might also be thought of as throwbacks to a prehistoric, animalistic past, where the younger man simply eliminates the older, in order to secure a mate for himself. Just the way of nature, and beyond criticism. Apparently, so I've read somewhere, this is the mindset of the criminal, who cannot see what he is doing wrong. He has to get by, somehow, and takes the easiest path. Why work, when you can steal? If obstacles arise, eliminate them. People are OK, otherwise. Live now, die later. This is an extraordinary film, superbly acted.

It's extremely rare for a company to outright lie on a DVD case, but here they most certainly did. This is not anamorphic ("enhanced for widescreen TVs") widescreen, as it says on both the DVD case and the label on the DVD itself. It's not even widescreen- it's 1.33:1, full screen. Disgusting, Warner Brothers. Amazon should NOT be selling this.

This is an amazing directorial debut, as the film works on so many fronts. It is both a love story and a crime drama, with sneak peaks at what makes the two main protagonists tick. It remains for the audience to decide who is the more chilling and disturbed of the two characters, twenty five year old Kit (Martin Sheen) or fifteen year old Holly (Sissy Spacek). This is a film in which two unlikely characters become lovers. Kit, a James Dean-like loser espies the fresh-faced Holly twirling her baton one day and is smitten. He approaches her and, despite her initial reluctance, she begins to see him against her protective father's wishes. Kit is ten years older than Holly, a high school drop out from the wrong side of the tracks, who is unable to maintain a job and appears to have a limited future. He falls in love with Holly and wants her to be his exclusively. Eventually, they become lovers. Holly, a loner who has been raised by her father since her mother died many years ago, lives a middle class, materially comfortable existence. Her father, while he no doubt loves and cares for her, lacks a certain sensitivity. His idea of punishing Holly for disobeying him is to shoot her dog in cold blood. When her fish is dying, his solution is to toss it into the yard while it is still gasping for breath, replacing it with a new fish. Holly's naive, fresh-faced, freckled countenance belies a soul that has atrophied. It is as if Holly were disconnected from her feelings. When Kit tries to talk to the father about his feelings for Holly, he is told in no uncertain terms to hit the road. Kit then decides to leave and take Holly with him. Kit enters Holly's house one day, packing a suitcase of her things in anticipation of their departure, when Holly and her father unexpectedly arrive home. Kit and Holly's father have a confrontation, that ends badly for dear old dad. It is here that the film first signals Holly's detachment as being something other than naivete. Her reaction is mind boggling. It is even more horrific than Kit's reaction. Or is it just shock? You be the judge. They initially live an almost Thoreauesque existence in the woods, living off the land, reading, and spending lots of quality time together, until this, too, begins to pall. Discovery of their idyll by law enforcement officers drives them out, and they begin a chilling killing spree across the Badlands of South Dakota and a life on the lam. While it is Kit who does all the actual killing, it is, to my mind, Holly who is the more complex and frightening character. Her prosaic and banal conversation, as well as a lack of empathy in the most heinous and disturbing of circumstances, is most unsettling. This is reinforced in the film through a voiced-over, almost toneless, detached narration by Holly of the events that took place. It is a masterpiece of point and counterpoint, chilling in its very telling and understated irony. When they are eventually caught, Holly remains impassive, while Kit relishes his celebrity and oozes charm, winning over his captors. Martin Sheen's performance is nothing short of brilliant, while Sissy Spacek is mesmerizing with her ability to chill the viewer. This is an expertly crafted film with an ingenious use of music. The director even manages to utilize the music of Erik Satie (Gymnopedies 3) most effectively, however unlikely it may seem. Like the music of Erik Satie, the film is multi-textured and deceptively complex. Bravo! - Martin Sheen - Sissy Spacek - Drama - Serial Killer'

Ac Adaptor Gateway - laptop power adapters, universal laptop ac adapter

I wrote a review the day it arrived, but now I'm revising it. PLEASE READ!

It arrived on time, and it worked great, but IT BROKE AFTER ITS FIRST USE! The round metal tube on the adapter head that plugs into the laptop broke off the adapter head after I unplugged it from my laptop. In fact, the tube tip was still stuck in my laptop port!

The reason why I gave the instruction manual 3 out of 5 stars is because a couple of the the black and white pictures were hard to understand. The contrast was way too dark, making it difficult to see which part goes where.

As for portability, it's a bit on the heavy, clunky size. Measurements for the black bar: 5 1/2" (14 cm) X 2 1/4" (5 1/2 cm) X 1 1/4" (2 3/4 cm). Weight of black bar: 9 1/4 oz. (265 g).

In short: DO NOT BUY THIS!!!

I ended up going to Best Buy and bought the ROCKETFISH TRAVEL LAPTOP AC POWER ADAPTER KIT for $40. Yes, it's more expensive, but it comes with 10 adapter heads, works great, and it's much more slim and lightweight than this one. UNIVERSAL ADAPTER LAPTOP Notebook AC ADAPTER Charger for HP COMPAQ ASUS NEC TOSHIBA ACER IBM GATEWAY SAMSUNG SONY FUJITSU?90W

This item is a piece of junk! The cord it came with didn't even work, I had to use my own cord. Then after a couple weeks, it started smoking and the power unit itself started melting. I would return it, but the cost to return it makes it not worth returning. Terrible terrible item.

It does bend easily,I will give people that one.If you drop it a lot or step on it, it will break or bend.Caution is always needed with everything(specially this thing, since the metal part of the adapter is very cheap and the price is cheap too).naturally you know that the quality is NOT going to be the same. The adapters could be numbered or labeled to show which one is which, but it really isnt a huge issue. It doesn't take hours to find the correct adapter.I recommend this product IF you need a temporary charger(3-6 months maybe?). EX. a college student who is tight on money and wants a quick replacement till they get their paycheck.DON'T expect this to be an actual replacement of your original charger. You will end up spending more money replacing these than getting an original charger at your local computer store.

Do not buy this product. I bought it because I needed a universal charger for my HP laptop and didn't want to pay the $75 as many other customers have stated. I regretfully ignored the poor reviews of this product because of the low price. The first time I used this product the "box" part got so hot that it actually melted and left a dark black spot on my wood table. Had I not smelt the melting plastic and unplugged the cord my house could have easily caught fire. PLEASE do NOT buy this item. Not only is it a bad product but it is unsafe and should be pulled from the market. I will be contacting the CT Attorney General regarding this matter.

I bought the universal charger for my computer and used it for 2 days and it completely stopped working. There is a green light that should light up when its plugged in and it doesn't light up or charge my computer. Faulty merchandise.

My old Dell charger completely stopped working, so i went to Fry's and found an 80 dollar universal charger, works great, but still wanted something cheaper so i bought this "universal" charger, hoping i can still return the expensive one. So it came without the little sticks shown in the picture that was supposed to hold the set volt that you pick, then looking at the crappy instruction manual, it just tells me to pretty much plug in whatever fits. Then the worst part; NOTHING fitted. Dell was specifically listed in item description, but it does not fit!! I want my money back, this was a waste of money. On the other hand, it does fit my Toshiba laptop, but I don't even need it for that one!

I bought this universal adapter after looking at other versions at my local electronics store that cost over $100. I'd also looked into odering a replacement adapter from the company that manufactures my computer and again, the cost was too high. So... I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. I've owned it for about 10 months now and never had an issue. It was easy to use right out of the package and came with many sizes of tips so that I could find exactly the right one to use. I saved the others, though, after my mother-in-law needed to use it on her machine. I highly recommend it.

Well one thing I will say about this ac adapter is the price is very reasonable. The one issue I had with it was the tips aren't very durable. They are easily bendable and I wish I had known this before I purchased this item. I've only had this for a few days and already I've had problem with the tips bending easily. Just my personal experience though. - Laptop Power Adapters - Chargers - Notebook Power Adapters - Universal Laptop Ac Adapter'

Accessories - zi8, kodak zi8

This does not fit the camera and had to be cut to do so and even then it was ill fitting. It came off easily and just didn't stick in the corners. They sent two but it didn't matter, it just didn't work. I have screen protectors for my camera and cell phone and even my iPad, all fit so much better than this. Not worth the money, but it was cheap once again proving that you really do get what you pay for.

Don't buy this one if you think it will be an exact fit. Bleh! 2x Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video HD Camera Premium Clear LCD Screen Protector, no cutting is required, Exact fit and satisfaction guaranteed!

I have mixed feelings on this item, so here are my pros vs. cons:

PRO:

- It's pre-cut for a very good fit.

- It's a relatively thick film, which should provide good protection.

- Two protectors are included, in case you screw up.

- It's very inexpensive.

CON:

- The material is too rigid, so IT WILL NOT STICK AT THE EDGES because it is not flexible enough to contour with the curves at the edges of the screen.

- Because it is too rigid and will not stick at the edges, you will either have to trim it down significantly (not a great solution) or leave it with the edges lifted (which is worse, because it will let dirt/dust in, which could scuff the screen at the edges where it is lifted).

It's really not bad considering the price, but if I had to do it all over again I would probably just use some clear headlight protectant film like Lamin-x. I ended up trimming it and I still had to carefully use a heat gun to get the edges to contour enough to stick. The headlight film is much more pliable and thicker, though it probably has a little less optical clarity.

It gets the job done but the bottom edges raise a bit about a quarter inch from both sides due to the design of the Kodak Zi8, it's not the plastic's fault, it is sturdy and that's why it's raised a bit but for the price, it protects the main part of the screen. So if you don't mind the raised edges a bit, then go for it.

I'm extremely glad that I didn't have to cut out my own design to fit around the video camera. My only dislike is on the sides, it won't stay down and I have to press it down every once in a while. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product and it serves it's main purpose...to protect the screen.

The protector doesn't fit properly because the front face of the Kodak Zi8 is not level. (There are grooves on the sides of the screen.) The texture of the protector is stiff and not able to fit the contour of the grooves of the screen. Thus, there are areas where the protector cannot adhere to the screen causing bubbling. Despite the budget friendly price, I cannot recommend this product.

This camera has the flexibility that is difficult to find in flip cameras. It has enough ports to add other equipment that makes it "more" than a regular flip camera.

Is it really being dicontinued ??

Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera

Pros: This is a great, easy to use video and still camera and the movies and stills look good on my HD TV screen. I carry it around and use it for various things; like a recording a band or a snapshot or video of a product in a store to compare to another store's item or online ad.

Cons: I would have given this camera a 5 star rating except for a problem with the audio. I record live music and randomly the audio raises in pitch at some point and then brings it back to the normal pitch. This may occur well into the recording and may repeat during the same recording.

I've notified Kodak support about this and the retailer, J&R Music. When I get a their replies I'll update my review.

I can't say enough good things about this little camera. Amazing video and audio for such a small device. It's auto white balance is really good. Image stabalazation is really good. I soetimes with the battery lasted a little longer but don't take that as a complaint. Microphone input works awesome. The included software is very helpful: even though I edit in Song Vegas, I convert the videos in the included software before I edit. My only negative about the Zi8 is that I wish it had a little wider frame of view. Not that it's fixed focal length is bad, I just wish it was a little wider. This is just a personal preference thing so that's not really a complaint.

Crockpot Cookbook - slow cooking, crockpot recipes

While I think it's terrific to have kids helping out in the kitchen, it can be difficult when the oven and burners are off limits. Enter the slow cooker! No open flame, just a pot that uses the same amount of energy as a 60 watt light bulb. Author Phyllis Good refers to it as "the easy-to-get-along with appliance."

I like that the book construction and overall setup are very kid friendly. A spiral binding encourages little hands to leaf through the pages, while the instructions and preparation methods are clearly aimed at a child's level. The ham in Ham and Potato Chowder is cut into strips using kitchen shears and the microwave is used for some advance cooking steps in several recipes. Directives like "Use potholders to remove the bowl from the microwave" and "Cover your slow cooker" may seem obvious to an adult, but not so for a child learning to cook. I love that each recipe is nicely spaced out on a full page, for easy consultation, with a large full-color photo of the dish on the opposing page.

Your kids can help get Tempting Tortilla Casserole or Creamy Lasagna on the table for dinner or prepare Crunchy Snack Mix or Pizza Dip for their own after school snacks. There are a host of breakfast dishes and desserts to choose from, including some amazing looking Chocolate Covered Pretzels. In all, there are fifty fabulous recipes that can help get your kids cooking and building some confidence in the kitchen. I found this book to be a great tool in helping get kids cooking in the kitchen.

[...] Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook: 50 Favorite Recipes to Make in a Slow Cooker

First off, I LOOOOVE the idea of this cookbook! It's written for your kids to read, so there are reminders about using oven mitts, and other basic info that you would know, but a kid might not. I think the concept is so empowering for kids! BUT, the food was SO unhealthy! I mean, if I am teaching my child to cook, I am going to steer him or her away from most of the kinds of foods in here. Very high fat, processed, unbalanced dishes. I wasn't blown away by the creativity either. Oh well. It was an impulse buy, serves me right.

Let's be realistic here. I have 5 adult children and about a dozen grandkids so I know a little bit about kids and their eating habits. To be fair regarding this cookbook, the recipes may not be the healthiest but these recipes are geared around what kids like to eat. I know for myself that I am far more likely to make a recipe if I LIKE what I am going to make. Good luck getting kids excited about cooking if their only choices are recipes they are not particularly fond of. They won't be eating like this all the time but it's a great way to get them started.

I give this author 5 stars for her "Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook" and it's easy way to interest the kids in cooking.

I purchased as a shared gift for my two granddaughters. Both love to cook, and this was a great purchase. The pictures are brillant and recipes are easy to follow. The five year old decided the first recipe they make will be the broccoli cornbread. Even their Mom is excited about making mac and cheese in a crockpot. Now I wish I had purchased one for me.

We purchased this book for our son's 7th birthday. He's shown interest in cooking, and we thought this would be a great cookbook for him. It's set up in such a way that he really needs minimal help in preparing the recipes. He's made several desserts and a snack so far. I love seeing his sense of accomplishment as he finished a recipe, and best of all, the recipes taste good!

I highly recommend this book for kids who really want to learn to cook independently!

These recipes are all great for kids to make all on their own with just a little adult supervision. They all use only the slow cooker and/or the microwave. My daughter loves this book and the recipes are tasty.

I got this book along with a 4qt. crock pot for my 9 year old daughter last Christmas. We Absolutely love it. The recipes are easy and delicious and My daughter loves that she can make most of the recipes by her self.

I really loved this book, and I am glad I bought it for my nephew. Let's face it...these are the kids of foods most kids like to eat. The pictures are great, and as an avid crock-pot junkie myself, there were recipes in here I would love to try! I wish the book were a little longer, but I am a huge fan of this series, and the book it definitely, if nothing else, very kid-friendly. And cheap! :-) A nice gift for a kid with an interest in cooking. - Slow Cooking - Crockpot Recipes - Kids - Crock Pot'

Yoga Accessories - yoga accessories, yoga mats

As an avid hot power yogi, I, like so many other people have been on a seemingly endless search for a towel that not only stays put and allows me to stay put but is also affordable. I fell into the Yogitoes trap. Everyone had one in my classes so I jumped on the band wagon. It took me weeks of washing it to get it to stop running in the wash (partly my fault for buying the black one, when I knew it would run from reading other peoples reviews, I just thought it would stop)and streaking on my mat where my hands and feet spent the majority of their time. I practice up to four times a week so I was still switching off between it and my regular old beach towel. I knew I wanted another towel, but I was less than thrilled with the results from my Yogitoes and even less thrilled with the price. It was better than the beach towel but it wasn't so great that I wanted 4 more. I searched around, read reviews and found the YogaRat Microfiber towel. At half the price I had to try it. I was so happy with this purchase. No annoying running of the colors, excellent absorbing ability, and even without the Yogitoes nubs, it really doesn't move much AND half the price! If you tend to drag your feet it may come with you a bit, but it is easy enough to fix with your toes while in down dog. Similar to the Yogitoes it works best when you dry it without a dryer sheet. But the material is different. It dries so fast! I always see people in class wetting their Yogitoes and I get it because mine would be slippery until I got some sweat on it, but then once it was more saturated it would get slippery again! So it was a great towel, for 20 minutes of the 90 minute class. With the YogaRat, no need to pre-wet, and no more annoying sliding around. I make it through a 90 minute class no problem and I truly feel that my postures have improved now that I am not sliding towards the end of my practice or constantly slipping forward in something as simple as down dog. I highly recommend this towel to anyone who practices regularly enough to need several towels, and who is looking for a high quality product at a reasonable price. You shouldn't have to be rich to take part in a practice as amazing as yoga. Lululemon and Yogitoes aren't the only game out there. A little extra searching and research goes a long way and was totally worth it for me. I use Amazon reviews whenever I am on the fence about something and I have really come to value the opinion of the Amazon community. I hope this review helps you in your decision making as so many other people's have helped me with mine. Happy Yogging! Yogarat Purple Color 100% Microfiber YOGA TOWEL -- Extra Long At 72". Pair it with one of our mats!

I take 12 Bikram classes a week, so I am really into yoga towels. (I prefer to do laundry once a week.) I have carefully selelcted a large variety. The Yogarat towel performs much better than other towels in its price range, and actually is a close second to the Manduka Equa (which is much more expensive). I use a Manduka Black Mat Pro (the best!) which grips very well with this towel. It does not slip around and I am able to hold my grip in all of the postures. The material is pleasant to the touch compared to some of the sticky microfiber towlels such as the Gaiam. The YogaRat lost 1 star in my rating because the towels are stamped with a rat in the center of the towel with the name "YogaRat" stamped in fairly large print. I find this tacky and distracting. I put that side face down, but the rat is still visible somewhat through the material. It is disappointing feature, as the colors are very nice compared to other towels, and the quality is very high.

If one is not offended by patterns or prints, this towel is a very good value.

I was looking for a good yoga towel to go with my Manduka yoga mat. Someone suggested yogi toes and I bought a couple-for me and my husband. Then I realized I needed more but yogi toes was expensive. Looking for a cheaper alternative, I bought one yogarat towel. Since then, I have bought 5 and would get more when they become available. This towel simply surpasses the yogi toes in terms of having to make adjustments. The size is perfect for a long mat. The towel rarely moves. When it does, since it is light in weight, it is easy to move it with your toes. Sometimes I do that when I am in downward facing dog :-)

I would give this a higher rating any day compared to the overly priced yogi toes. Buy this item once..you will always go back to it.

I love this mat towel, it absorbs excellent. A majority of hot yoga towels are expensive, way overpriced. This towel is the perfect match, plus the price is great. I am going to buy one for my husbands and an extra one for me!!!!! Well worth the money. Thanks Amazon!!

I have been doing Bikram HOT YOGA for about 8 months now and I must say using a proper yoga towel over your standard beach towel makes all the difference. I like the length of the Yogarat towel and the weight of it, much easier to hall around than a beach towel. I've tried out several yoga towels and the only reason I gave this one a 4* is because it does tend to move around on your mat a bit, but I am able to grip my feet on it without any problems otherwise.

Weather you do Bikram or your standard yoga if you get to a point where your yoga mat or towel starts to smell funky (even though you clean them after use) wash them in distilled white vinegar and the odor is gone. i use 1/2 a cup in every load of laundry (just because it keeps the color in clothes longer), but I am sure you could use less. I would definitely recommend this mat and buy it again, you can't beat the price!

On the plus side,it's great just to grab a towel to take to class instead of lugging a mat. On the downside, I have to keep adjusting myself or the towel because I start to slip. With my cheap map on top of the gym's mat, I get a better grip. - Aurorae - Yoga Mats - Mat - Yoga Accessories'

Cell Phone Charger - cell phone charger, car chargers

This is a compact unit that I use to charge my cell phone and Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS using the two DC outlets, and to charge my Ipod Nano and Palm TX using the two USB outlets. I purchased a DC outlet extension cord at Radio Shack, and plug the charger into this so that I can position the charger right next to my seat.

I have tried various other chargers, and this is the most convenient one that I have found. In addition, the charger's capacity is sufficient to handle all of my gadgets being charged simultaneously.

Update July 22, 2009: Some months ago I replaced my Palm TX with an iPod Touch 2G. This unit charges it just fine using the same USB cable that I use to charge the Touch on my laptop.

Update August 23, 2009: I now charge my new BlackBerry Tour on this unit.

Update October 10, 2010: I just ordered my third unit--not because I had a problem with the other two, but because I wanted one for each car. Three years later my original unit is working just fine, as is the secind unit that I purchased a year after that. This is definitely a quality product that has performed well and held up well.

Update December 3, 2010: I just received my fourth unit that I am giving to one of my children to use in their car. This is a quality unit, and I have not had any problems with any of the units that I have bought. Multi-Use Vehicle Charger with Dual USB Ports and Dual 12 Volt Sockets - Magnadyne

This device is really helpful not just for road warriors, but the average person who may have quite a number of devices that can be powered/charged by USB. It can handle and is fused at 20 amps.

I have two. On is 8 months old, the other about four months. You do not need to direct wire, but it is easy and in both my vehicles they are directly wired. One went to the front cigarette lighter wiring (about a 10 minute install) meaning I have a net of three cigarette lighter 12v outlets, plus two USB limited to 15 amps of the supporting OEM cigarette lighter fuse. In my second vehicle I have it direct wired to the battery main bus with an inline fuse (from an inexpensive $20 car amplifier power supply wiring kit). That was about 40 minute install. They can support a high powered laptop, treo, navigation unit, dvd player for the kids in back, and also charge an ipod or bluetooth set -- all concurrently. It is also not difficult to open up the device and and use the 5v leg to run a direct 5v usb for hardwiring nav units.

The USB 5 volts is pretty clean and accurate checking with load on car start I am getting 5.1v and it settles at 4.95v, all well within tolerances for any usb device.

[...]

this is exactly what any blackberry, ipodding tuning road-warrior needs. dual 12v and 5v usb...genius.

my only hitch is that it takes a few seconds to buffer the power to the USB ports. My blackberry 7130e didnt start charging until a few seconds after the charger was plugged in. It works so im not concerned.

the usb ports have enough power to charge any USB device you can throw at it. I used this to supplement a high-speed portable hard drive that needed more power than my ultra portable laptop could supply it. so one plug went to PC usb for data and the other went to this baby and i was mint.

Love the mounting equipment. velcro or screw mount..your choice!

Cables and construction are solid and wire is heavy guage so it wont over heat under high load.

Product is well built and easy to mount. Despite its sturdy construction, none of the ports are adequately filtered electronically. Consequently, if you want to keep your mp3 player charging while listening to music, forget it! The unit picks up engine noise which plays through the speakers. So, as a charger, it works perfectly and is well made but..using it while listening to music: absolutely not. 4 stars for quality, 2 stars for poor noise filtering.

This unit would not charge my Nokia n900 using its USB outputs, until I modified it. But then, neither would at least three other dumb USB chargers I had on hand. Finally, I searched the net for n900 charging issues, and found that the n900 expects the charger to behave as the USB specification for dumb chargers reads, and many don't. Specifically, it expects to see 200 ohms resistance between the D+ and D- pins (the two center pins) and this unit appears to have an open circuit there. It seems that many phones, specifically some iPhone and Blackberry units, do not conform to the USB spec either, and expect to see around 2 volts on D+ - which this unit provides.

So, if your phone will charge when connected to a computer, but not when connected to a dumb charger, this is why.

Using a magnifier to see the pins adequately, I connected D+ and D- together with a little solder bridge on the printed circuit board. Although this isn't a 200 ohm resistor, it's sufficient to inform the n900 that it's connected to a dumb charger, and it starts to charge.

The power is nicely filtered and regulated, no noise on the audio output while charging, so this plays fine in the car while charging while some other dumb chargers contributed so much buzzing from their switching regulators that it wasn't possible to listen to music.

I guess manufacturers of dumb chargers are between a rock and a hard place, as not every phone expects the same thing. The ultimate unit would offer a switch on each USB port to fix this. Those who don't want to open their charger can also make a USB cable with a short or 200 ohm resistor between D+ and D- to solve this problem.

Nice product... not much to say. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because the springy (+) tip to plug into my car's socket isn't very springy, and at first the thing wouldn't stay in the socket. I intend to hardwire though. For that purpose, the included cable is a little short (about 40") if you need to custom route it. Otherwise it's a nice length. The product easily opens up and it looks like a power cord replacement is a simple solder job even for a novice like myself. I'm also impressed that they put an extra fuse on the inside of the device in case someone tries to put a bigger fuse into the thing to get more power.

Looks like a very well constructed product for the price.

As my review title explains, this will power the latest generations of iPod via the USB port. I successfully tried both a synching cable and a "charging only" cable. - Ipod Charger - Car Chargers - Cell Phone Charger - Dual Car Adapter'

Laptop Cooler - cookies, gripping

These cookies are just plain awesome and I can't believe that it took this long for a product like this to hit the market.

Use them for elevating your work piece off of the table so you can paint it, use your router on it, whatever you need. The no-slip base works awesomely on pretty much any and all material. Just make sure it's free of saw dust or any loose debris and they'll stay planted.

Rockler sells these as well and I must say that the blue ones they sell are much better looking then these, but obviously function the same (and are the same price).

If you are a serious woodworker, a novice, or even a beginner, these are a must have for anyone. Buy two packs and just go crazy!

Pros:

Securely holds and elevates your workpiece.

Cheap!

Take up very little space in your workshop.

Durable and well made.

Cons:

Orange and black color not all that pretty, LOL. Bench Dog 10-035 Bench Cookie Work Grippers, 4-Pack

I have a couple router mats that I've used for years before coming across these. I have a feeling the mats will be rolled up and stored in a cabinet now. These Bench Cookies give you the added benefit of height when routing a complete edge or plunge routing something out of the center of your work. I bought 2 sets so if I want to do some jig saw work I stack 2 on the corners and my work is elevated enough that I can work right over my workbench. The anti-slip surface works as well as my router mats. Something so simple that is so useful....wish I came up with the idea....

Wasn't sure I would use these when I got them. I now use them every day especially for supporting boards up off the ground while I cut them to size using a circular saw. I just went and got another set yesterday as well for larger peices of wood for more support. They really do grip well especially if you have them on a slick surface like a painted garage floor. A+

Don't buy them here though. Lowes has them for lower.

I'm making some cabinets and could find nothing to hold the face frame parts in place. These things work great to sand the individual parts or the whole frame. Also great spacers for staining & finishing (just put one of my used sanding disks underneath to protect them from finish/stain).

Highly recommended ~ considering purchasing another set.

Yep, they're simple and work great--I wonder sometimes why I never made anything like them myself. Now, though, they're cheap enough that it's not worth the time to do so.

I bought them on impulse, but these rapidly became one of the most-used items in my shop. Having enough relief--and enough vibration-damping--to hold pieces for the router is particularly useful, since they're always at hand, saving a step of setup.

We use this product in a commercial cabinet shop. This is a great product that really allows for a lot of force while sanding without fear of the workpiece sliding. The foam rubber on both faces of the Grippers tends to take on dust from sanding, but this does not seem to reduce the grip provided.

I can not think of any way to improve this product.

I've wanted a set of these cookies from Rockler since they came out. I just never wanted to pay shipping and tax on a $12 item. I don't order from Rockler much because of the shipping, tax and usually the prices can't beat Amazon's. Back to the cookies...I am happy with the purchase. They're very grippy. They're smaller and thinner than I was picturing and I think that's a good thing. Who cares about the color? I have several Bench Dog products and have been pleased overall (other than their feather board). These do what they're intended to do and I'm satisfied.

I haven't used this product yet to keep wood steady when working on a project, but I did find a different use. Whenever I am working on my laptop I put all four of these down first so each corner of the computer is sitting on a "cookie". This makes it more comfortable to type and it keeps the laptop cool.

This is an absolutely amazing product that is indispensable for anyone who works with wood! No more clamping down objects you are tying to sand then having to sand around the clamps or constantly move the clamps. Also allows you to work the edges of a piece if need be. I am going to order eight more of these for my shop. - Cookies - Recommended - Bench Dog - Gripping'

Boating

When i ordered this i was kinda iffy because of the last review but i ordered it anyway because it didnt really matter to me weather i got the strap or cable. This product shipped in like 3 days, i was amazed. When i took it out the box it was just as described on the box and when i ordered it. "Hand Winch with Cable". After finding my previous bolts i took off my trailer i put this on my trailer in 3 minutes. The only thing i didnt like was that the cable was not wound tight on there so i unwound the cable and fixed that minor problem. 1200 # Cable Hand Gear Winch Boat/Truck/Car/Trailer/ATV

As described, I ordered a "hand winch with cable", however; upon arrival I received a hand winch with a strap (not a cable which is needed for my pulley system) which does not or will not meet my needs. When I complained to the shipper there was no response. Since it cost too much to return I just threw it on the shelf with the other junk.'
