Action Adventure - science fiction, dvd

What you'll get here are the 2-disc limited editions of the original trilogy in a handy-dandy box. What are the limited editions? Two disc packages that contain the recent special editions and a "bonus disc" for each film that contains the respective originals. And by originals, I mean the complete un-altered films the way audiences saw them back in 1977, 1980 and 1983. Even the added-in-'81 "A New Hope" in the title crawl of the first film is no longer there. It is simply STAR WARS. Simply put: these are the versions audiences (who were born before the 90s) fell in love with. These are the versions that made Star Wars a phenomenon. The versions that are worth a damn. Does anyone seriously know ANYBODY who prefers the special editions to the originals?

Unfortunately, these are still the same old non-anamorphic transfers. They look great (and are light years better than my fullscreen VHS tapes), but how much effort does it take to enhance these films for widescreen televisions? It's not messing with the legacy or "raping childhoods." It's simply updating the format for 2008. Even two years ago, when these editions were first released, letterbox was outdated. Get with the program, Georgie. These are not simply programs on a bonus disc. They're the films that made you a trillionaire. And they're the films everybody who buys this set wants.

Also unfortunate is that they're not including the bonus disc from the 2004 set of the special editions. However, if I had to choose between that set and this one, I'd go with this one all the way. Special features are nice, but it's the movies that count. I'd rather have bare-bones editions of the original trilogy than all the bells and whistles of the special edtions. Star Wars Trilogy

This box contains the previously released "limited edition" 2-disc sets, now in 3 slim-line cases, which means you get STAR WARS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and RETURN OF THE JEDI in both the original theatrical versions (for the first time on DVD!) and the re-worked "special editions" from the mid 90's.

I purchased these mainly for the original theatrical versions and my comments relate to those versions only.

The Original Theatrical versions are in their original 2.35:1 Widescreen aspect, letterboxed within a 3x4 screen format - not anamorphic - which is clearly indicated on the packaging. You can view this "full-size" on your 16x9 TV by setting your DVD player's HDMI output to 3x4/pillar-box if necessary, and then setting your TV to "zoom" so that the screen is filled side to side with the picture. There will be slim black bars on the top and bottom, just as there are on anamorphic DVD's with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.

Even with the zoom in effect, the picture is crystal clear and the color great. I'm using an upconvert DVD player with HDMI output (1080p), and a 50-inch plasma HD television. Some have said in reviews that the picture quality is poor, even "VHS quality", but that's totally false. I've read that the originals here were taken from the laser-disc masters done in the early 90's; well, they look great however they were sourced. The sound is Dolby 2.0 Stereo (as indicated on the package) and sounds excellent. I get some center-channel and sub-woofer action as well as the stereo music and sound-effects on my system.

If a blu-ray/HD version is ever issued, that will be great and an improvement; but this is the only way to get the original films on DVD at this time, and they look great, so this set is essential for fans who saw these movies in theatres when they were released between 1977 and 1983 and want to see them once again in their original glory.

I see this box set is getting a lot of bad reviews so I thought I'd chime in.

Most people giving it one star are just mad that there is another boxset release. This doesn't bother me at all. I never bought the other boxsets because of all the CG that was added, those aren't the movies I love.

People are also upset that the originals aren't in anamorphic widescreen and are poor transfers. Yeah an anamorphic version would have been nice and maybe they could have been retransfered, but these movies look a lot better than my old VHS set. Most likely these movies look better now than they did in the crappy theatar I saw them in.

In conclusion, this is a very affordable way to get all the original versions of the original trilogy, plus you get all the touched up versions.

Memo to George Lucas: I am not buying any more of your movies until you give us the REMASTERED films as they were ORIGINALLY. Han shoots first. Hayden Christiansen's ghost does not appear at the end of ROTJ. The original nub nub Ewok music is put back into the film, and the original Jabba's Palace band music is restored, etc. etc. Get the picture? You can do it, George. And don't tell us that the original negatives for these films no longer exist, because I don't believe you. If you think you are going to keep me buying and rebuying and rebuying the same product over and over and over again, then think again, because I'm not coming along for the ride.

I repeat: As soon as you release the original 1977, 1980, and 1983 versions of the films AS THEY WERE ORIGINALLY - and they MUST be remastered - not grainy laserdisc transfers. Then, and ONLY then, can you have any more of my money.

Just give the fans what they want. Is that too much to ask?

How is it possible that I have now bought the exact same (well, almost) movies on video tape for now the FOURTH TIME? Yes, I'm one of those people who own the original letterbox release, the letterbox THX release, and the letterbox Special Edition box set. Now, as soon as Mr. Lucas announces yet another marketing of the Holy Trilogy, I'm there with my credit card on Amazon.com! Heck, I don't even BUY video cassettes anymore, I have a DVD player! Why do I keep shelling out hard earned dollars for the same movies?Well, if you really need to ask that question, you're obviously not a Star Wars fan. Without a doubt, there movies have become immortal for one reason: they have ressurected the myth genre. While the Greeks and Romans had their famous mythologies, Aesop had his fables, and the Britsh had King Arthur, the last generation of the 20th Century has Star Wars.We were raised on Star Wars. Dreams of becoming a Jedi were as common as future proffessions such as doctor or policeman back at my grade school. I doubt a day went by between my fourth and tenth years of life where the accolades of Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2 and 3PO weren't acted out in my daily play with my friends. We didn't play "Cowboys and Indians." We played "Rebels and Imperials." We didn't have gun fights, we battled each other with whatever could substitute for a lightsaber. In retrospect, now that I'm all grwon up, I'm thankful for Lucas for what he gave me. These movies laid of a simple play of good versus evil. In the end, the quest for virtue will always triumph over the greed of evil. They also taught me that if you believe in yourself and have faith a higher power, you can accomplish anything. For this, you will see me ordering this trilogy every time it is released. Not just for the "Episode II Behind-The-Scenes" stuff, but basically to give the well-worn copies I already own a break. Thank you, Mr. Lucas. You've brought great joy into my life and helped to teach me the values I have today. Though I don't have children yet, I'm sure that when they come along, they will be living out the same fantasies I did a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...P.S. Good Shipping - good value, red laser pointer

I have been using this product for technical presentations since last 4 months. It never let me down. Laser has bold and strong focus. Since it is heavy because of its battery, the hand can be held steady pointing to the correct location.

I would recommend this product. Gr8 value for money!! Red Laser Pointer Classic Style with Carrying Case

I bought this for my kitty who absolutely loves it. The case it comes with is cheap. The build of the laser pointer itself is pretty solid. It feels heavy, probably due to the two AAA batteries. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to turn on, but otherwise it works well. The red laser is pretty bright.

I initially bought this one to play with my cats and it works wonderful. It drives them crazy and I have had a lot of fun with it. As an added bonus, I put this one in my purse and take it with me any time I visit my sister; or I keep it handy when the wretched girl visits my place. She is far less bright than any of my cats and has yet to figure out where the little light comes from. I very much recommend this product for a lot of fun with both cats and stupid sisters.

This laser pointer is a bright, inexpensive laser pointer suitable for any general use. The delivery was prompt and the quality of the laser appears to be good.

PROS: Inexpensive; bright; comes with a basic carrying case and slipcover; generic batteries are included.

CONS: Feels a little lightweight; batteries included aren't the best.

Overall, I recommend this as a good-quality basic laser.

The pen gives a fairly strong laser - much better than the lasers that are equipped on pointers that are also used for slide transitions.

The wooden case it comes in basically falls apart in the wind, but for the price I would highly recommend this for students or anyone doing presentations. It's fun and convenient to own your own pointer. You can surprise someone who forgot theirs and look like a hero.

I was looking for a cheap cat toy and this is what chose.

Pros: Has 2 aaa batteries included in package. Good construction overall. The button is easy to press and doesn't wear you out. Low price.

Cons: No always-on button.

Why pay more? This item is exactly the same as the laser pointer titled "GREAT QUALITY RED LASER POINTER WITH CASE AND BATTERIES" also from Amazon and from the same seller. I bought both to see the difference and they are identical. Even the OEM model numbers and batteries are the same. So save some cash and buy the other. - Red Laser Pointer - Good Value - Red - Laser'

Financial History

For readers interested in how religion informs views of capitalism, this is an excellent example.

No matter what you think of Green's argument, it's a beautifully written and lucid book that ranges widely in history and literature. It's a book not just about financial policy but about living a meaningful, examined life.

As a writer, Green has an eye for the telling factual detail. To cite just one example, on globalization: "I have listened to the work of and Italian composer (Puccini) in a Chinese opera house (in Beijing) designed by a Frenchman (Paul Andreu)."

At its core, though, this is a book about what Green sees as the limits of capitalism and how he hopes to transform it.

Early on, Green quotes Milton Friedman's view that "There is one and only one social responsibility of business - to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits so long as it stays within the rules of the game, which is to say, engages in open and free competition without deception or fraud."

Green calls that view "dangerously simplistic," and says businesses now "must consider value from the perspective not just of investors, but of customers, employees, suppliers, communities and - increasingly - the environment, too."

Green's own feelings about free-market capitalism are mixed: "At its best, as we have seen, there is no more powerful engine for development and liberation than the market. At its worst, it is a dangerous moral pollutant that nourishes some very poisonous weeds in us."

At time, Green is downright hostile. He quotes Paul: "The love of money is the root of all evil." Money, he writes, has become "the modern Mephistopheles," the servant of Lucifer, the Devil.

What is the alternative? "After 2007-2009, the manifest failure of market fundamentalism and the need for a rebalancing of the world's economy will inevitably be the starting point of a new world order," Green writes. "The underlying question will be whether world leaders can construct a shared vision of a global economic order that preserves the dynamism of market forces while taming their excesses (in both risk-taking and reward)."

Green expresses hope that what he calls "ethical capitalism" will supplant what he calls "the ideology of market fundamentalism."

This "ethical capitalism" has an ideology of its own, which, while its truth may be self-evident to Green, is by no means universally shared.

"My interpretive prism is Christian," Green writes toward the end of the book, again quoting Paul: "There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus."

"The ideal, and the hope, stand the test of time," writes Green. This may well grate on Jewish readers who don't look forward as ardently as Green apparently does to the elimination of their unique identity. They and others may, as I did, find this particular critic of "market fundamentalism" to display a certain fundamentalism of his own, and one that isn't without its own dangers. Good Value: Reflections on Money, Morality and an Uncertain World

Bankers are in the doghouse seen as the main culprits of the recession. It is therefore an important event that a highly successful prominent banker presents his convictions about moral standards. The book leaves you in no doubt that Stephen Green (SG) is a banker with good intentions, writes what he honestly believes, and wishes banks to contribute to the well-being of society at large and most importantly tells what should change and what cannot.

SG makes several "final" statements about the economic system that he believes to be true, which coming from a person with so much credibility should be accepted by all.

For example: "The Friedmanite (Milton Friedman) idea that the sole job of a business is to create profit for shareholders has proved insufficient to sustain value and-in the end- a bad deal for shareholders". Richard Lambert, the Director General of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) still wrote in 2010 in the FT: "Business in some ways quite simple. It has clearly defined aims. The aim is to make money." And Lambert is far from the only one still holding this view.

Other example: "Government oversight, regulation and, in time of stress, intervention are essential". "Markets cannot be relied on to be stable and self-regulating". Good-bye to laissez faire and egocentric country sovereignty.

Other example: "Nor can the market be relied upon to be sufficient for a balanced social development (that is solve poverty problems)"

However, make no mistake SG consider the free market the prime force for the development of prosperity; he makes many suggestions how to channel it for the benefit of society at large.

SG refers to an important statement of Nigel Lawson, a brilliant former British chancellor: "That capitalism has shown, in practice, to be endemically (infected by disease) flawed should not come as a surprise". "That is the nature of mankind." What is the disease? One of the many diseases SG identifies is "that there are too many engineers working in bank dealing rooms" I suppose SG refers to the brilliant brains developing innovative structured products and logarithms. These engineers have only one motivation: to become stinkingly rich regardless of the consequences. If large businesses like Wal-Mart or GE go bankrupt it is a tragedy but if a boiler room is outstandingly successful, or if a large bank like Lehman fails, it can spread like a deadly fever through the entire body of the interconnected financial system. SG writes, "Exactly how the taming will be done remains to be seen." The book does not present all of the changes necessary but a good many.

Stephen Green presents his recommendations from a Christian perspective. In many dialogues with His Holiness the Dalai Lama I have identified Buddhist principles with the same purpose, published in the "Leader's Way". They are surprisingly similar.

SB. "The value of the human spirit with all its possibilities for goodness and creativity, is so intensely real, seen to the Christian prism, so also is the potential of evil and destructiveness."

B (Buddhism) "It is part of human nature to have Good (beneficial} tendencies and Negative (destructive) tendencies"." Given the strength of the destructive tendencies it is necessary to train and disciple the mind to reduce negative tendencies".

SB. Compartmentalization. "Disconnect between what is said in worship and what is done in life" B. "All actions should have good intentions. A good intention means that the action is of benefit to self and others, at least does not harm anybody. An intention that does not lead to action has no merit."

SB. "Money is potentially liberating. His money became his God. Money can never be a true servant." B. "The craving for more money, or more fame can never be satisfied."

SB on Calvin: "That if you have money you were a steward of God and must use what you have been entrusted with". B. "Wealth is good if it has been earned honestly and is used responsibly including sharing some of the benefits with others."

SB. "We forget about end values all the time". B. "It is necessary to develop mindfulness to be aware when negative emotions enter the mind. "

SB. "No man is an Island." B. "There has never been and will never be a person that is independent of others.

SB. "Ethical capitalism". Our book. The Responsible Free Market Economy. "Responsible" and "free" are the core words.

The book in addition to the points referred to here presents an excellent history of morals and money starting at the beginning of civilization.'

Floor Cleaning - dusting, floors

I love the extra large Swiffer Max - it covers so much more floor so much faster. Here's an idea I hope will work for you and save you money:

A couple of years ago I discovered I can easily attach a microfiber cloth (you can get them on Amazon) to the Swiffer, then I dampen it with a little hot water and vinegar and go to town cleaning my floor. If the cloth isn't too dirty after a few days of floor washings I just flip it over and use the other side. Then it goes into the washing machine and dryer and the whole process starts over again.

To make my kitchen smell nice I take a fresh microfiber cloth and dampen it with water and sprinkle several drops of an essential oil such as peppermint in the morning to wake everyone up:-) or lavender at night (for relaxation). Essential oils are also sold on Amazon. I hope these tips are useful to someone. Swiffer Sweeper X-Large Complete Pack with Two Dry Sweeping Cloths & Two Wet Mopping Cloths (Pack of 2)

I am so pleased with this product and I knew I had to write a review for this, which is not typical of me, but it works that well I knew it was worth writhing a review about since I myself find reviews very helpful when it comes to buying a "never before used" product.

I have 4 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds and recently found out one of my kids has pet allergies. What I LOVE about this swiffer is the fact that it's larger than the usual swiffer but at the same time covers more area and you are finished even that much quicker. When I used the swiffer sweeper cloths for the first time and flipped it over to see how much it picked up I was shocked. I don't think it missed one piece of dirt or dog/cat hair on my hardwood floor areas which is something my regular broom and dust pan would never have picked up. I must add that this item will not pick up larger crumbs but what I do is usually sweep all the larger crumbs/dirt into one area and either use my vacuum to pick up the rest since I usually vacuum after cleaning my kitchen floors.

Another BIG plus for me with this item is the fact that it's so light weight and I've always suffered from back pain which I no longer experience pain when using this item like I did with heavy brooms/mops and because it's larger in size I'm able to be done so much quicker and spend more time with my kids then cleaning the floors all day.

The fact that you have to use two wet cloths has not been an issue for me because it's worth it when you have an item that works so well and benefits in so many ways that using two cloths seems like nothing when it comes to saving yourself valuable time, back pain and getting your floors cleaned quickly with a product that dries quickly so if my kids come into the kitchen right after cleaning the floors, there's no more slipping on wet floors that were still drying from a soaked mop....

I can't recommend this product enough, if you're a busy mom like me who hates spending time pulling out the broom/mop & bucket every time your floors need a cleaning then this is a product for you. Sometimes I even use the product just for the fun of it and to see how much it picks up that you wouldn't see yourself or would miss with a broom/pan. I love the fact that it gets up so much pet hair and easily manuevers in and out of small spaces.

I love love love this product and HIGHLY recommend to anyone!

On an added note: I didn't realize when I purchased this item that it actually comes with 2 swiffers and the cleaning pads, I thought Amazon sent an extra on accident but turns out I got more then what I was even expecting so I keep one in my guest bathroom and one in my kitchen.....which comes in very handy. - Floors - Dusting - Cleaning - Swiffer'

Skin Care Gift - dry skin, cracked skin

This kit has a lot of good hand care items:

Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme: Keeps your hands soft, the beeswax acts as a moisture barrier and smells wonderful.

Shea Butter Hand Repair Creme: if you want a lighter cream that can go on knees, elbows as well, the Shea butter cream is perfect.

Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme: smells like a fresh cut lemon, and it works far better than any kind of cuticle oil I've tried. Fun to rub in because it smells so good. A bit oily afterwards, but very effective. The best item in the kit. Burt's Bees Hand Repair Kit

I have been a big fan of Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream for years, and was very happy to find this little hand healing kit.

The beeswax and banana hand creme is super creamy & highly scented, but the scent dissipates pretty quickly once you start massaging it into your hands. It leaves a slightly greasy feel on your hands, but that's Ok with me.

I follow up and application of the hand creme with massaging the cuticle balm into my nails. This also has a pretty strong scent to it, but it is a little nicer than the banana, it is more natural smelling (even though both products are nearly 100% natural)

Burt's Bees products are the only ones that have been able to heal my very dry hands and fingers.

The kit is described as containing a banana wax hand cream, but that product was replaced with an almond cream which is clearly inferior. Amazon will not replace the product, as they claim this "is not their error, but the vendor which supplies them. Again, buyer beware.

This is honestly the best "beauty" $13 I have ever spent. As a beauty pageant queen (2010/2011)and business executive, I am constantly on the search for products that are effective, yet easy to use and obtain. With this set, I have found what I need! I purchased it originally on Amazon, and have also found it at WalMart for approximately the same price.

The negatives I have heard here are the following:

kit comes with almond rather than banana hand cream

kit comes with yellow rather than bee print gloves

Let me address both.....

Kit comes with almond rather than banana hand cream: I have never heard of nor used the brand's almond or banana hand cream before this, however the almond hand cream which I received is AMAZING! I seriously received this kit two days ago, and after using this lotion + gloves only for the two days, I have the softest hands I have ever experienced in my entire life. My husband, who has serious scent allergies, is not affected by the smell and tells me that I smell amazing after I put this on before bed. This is the most amazing lotion/cream I have ever encountered (and in my pageant/modeling experience I have tried many products)-- even after washing my hands multiple times throughout the day, the softness lasts...unlike other products that are more expensive and offer just a temporary moisture boost.

Kit comes with yellow rather than bee print gloves --

Really? Ok, yes, the picture on the package shows gloves with a print of little bees on it. Maybe the company should update their packaging. However, I would rather have them spend the money on developing more amazing products like the ones they currently offer. The bee print cotton gloves and the pale yellow cotton gloves (which I received) I would think offer the exact same benefits. Do you see the print when you wear them while you sleep? The pale yellow gloves, which I own as part of this kit, are absolutely amazing. I have purchased many pairs of spa gloves, spending up to $40/pair....and these are just as good as any I've tried. Yes, they are simply cotton gloves. However, they are durably constructed, and fit well on my small hands (many gloves come off my tiny hands during the night because they are too large; these don't do so).

In summary, the gloves + almond hand cream + lemon cuticle cream combination has given me results better than I ever anticipated, and I hope you try it for yourself. Believe me....I have spent several hundred dollars to try everything out there....and Burt's Bees products are second to none!

This kit is all you need for hand repair. I'm not organized enough to use all the creams as a system and wear the little gloves, but even still each cream works great individually to repair dry and damaged skin. The lemon cuticle cream and the shea butter repair cream give an instant fix. The banana hand cream is good for maintaining moisture on an every day basis and has a really fun smell, but probably not something you'd want to apply before going out into public or shaking hands with other people. The kit comes with a clear drawstring bag to store everything together.

I've been a Burt's Bees lover for quite some time and this product is no exception. The hand repair cream is amazing and the bee gloves are freakin' adorable. Just apply a small amount of repair cream to your hands, put on the gloves, go to bed, then wake up with soft hands. Yes, it's really THAT simple! The banana hand cream and cuticle cream are great for daily use.

The first time I used of of these kits, I received it as a gift from my husband. I let it sit in the closet for a while because I thought I'd never be able to sleep with gloves on my hands. Please don't let that deter you from buying this product! The gloves are so soft and breathable that you won't notice you're wearing them after the first couple minutes.

This is a good product! Love the lotions, and I especially love the gloves! The only thing I'm not happy with is the don't send the banana hand cream...it's an almond hand cream, which doesn't smell that great. I ordered 2 of these and they both came with the almond. But that's the only issue I have with it!

I have used this kit in the past and I love the products included. I especially like the cuticle cream and banana hand cream. However, the kit I received did not come with the banana cream, instead it came with the almond milk hand cream. A little disappointed, but all in all, a good product. - Hand Repair - Dry Skin - Hands - Cracked Skin'

Laptop Stand

I received the stand as a Christmas gift. I really like it. The only problem is that it is not universal for right or left side. I actually have to use it backwards; with the mouse area to the left. Also, the wheels do not fit under my couch so I can't wheel it as close as I like. But overall, I am very happy with it. Laptop Stand in Black - Coaster

easy to put together but, tips over easy. Its not really what I wanted. If your using this product in bed it ready suck doesnt go all the way under bed so you kind have to lean to the side. if your bed is on the blocks (raised up to put things under) you'll have trouble because it doesnt go high enough. this product fell twice with my lab top on it smh. if your using it to sit in a chair and keep it low you'll be ok with it. not real wood compressed wood I hate compressed wood.

I ordered this stand a week & a hlf before i actually needed it for this DJ gig i was doing figuring they would allow me (like w/ other products)to pay for next day deliver... it didn't. i had to by one at walmart, now i'm going to be returning this item.'

Shoot Digital Cameras - canon, point and shoot

Disclaimer: This particular review isn't being written from an avid photographer's point of view.

I needed a small, inexpensive, good-quality, easy-to-use camera for my job. My main use for this camera is taking good, clear indoor before/after photos of various electronic devices and related components. My requirements are a large LCD viewer, the ability to use common AA batteries, have my settings (date/time, photo mode) retained after batteries were removed and replaced, and a quick way to transfer images to my PC's that doesn't rely solely on a USB cable.

Preferring not to have to deal with camera angle or cumbersome tricks to reduce flash reflection from shiny surfaces, I was hoping to find something that would allow effective non-flash settings where a semi steadily-held camera could take clear, acceptable indoor pictures as required by the companies that I do work for.

As much as I tried, I could not get good, consistent results with the e510 but I seem to have found that camera with the L24.

So far with the L24, I've taken pictures of HDTV televisions (displays powered both on and off), PCB boards, product labels, macro shots of venting capacitors, etc. - *all without flash*, using only ambient room lighting.

For me, time is an important factor and with these onsite job shots, I do not have the time or desire to do pre-shot adjustments or after-processing like resizing, gamma-tweaking, or cropping. The shots I take need to be ready to be attached to an email or be uploaded to technician portals. The settings that I have found that work for me is the "white balance" and "motion detect" set for auto, resolution set for 1024x768 (for email-ready small file and dimension), and flash set for "off".

As long as my subjects aren't in the shadows, the camera is held relatively steady, and the images framed properly, my pictures are clear and all I have to do once I return home is transfer to my PC, attach and send. The settings as described above allow clear pictures for my uses in both regular and macro modes.

The camera remembers my settings with its AA batteries out and its 3" LCD viewer lets me verify a good shot (they've all been pretty good so far).

Connectivity:

All of my PC's have a card slot that accommodates the SD type, so if the included UC-E6 cable isn't handy, I remove the SD card from the camera and transfer images that way. If I needed more of these cables, I can get them for $4 each on eBay.

You don't have to use a SD card (camera has 17MB built-in) but I do recommend using a card for the extra storage and image-transfer/connectivity options.

When buying a SD card, consider the card-reading compatibility with your existing equipment if you intend on using using the card to transfer images. Some card readers do not read SDHC (high-capacity) cards, I was aware of this potential compatibility issue beforehand and bought a standard SD 2GB (not a SDHC) card.

I'm sure once more people buy this camera, more features than I covered will be discussed. There are settings on the L24 that I will probably never use. In my quick tour through the menu settings (haven't read the manual yet - haha) I didn't see where you can manually adjust aperture or shutter speed independently but there is an exposure control. The lack of manual settings might be a minus for serious photographers but like I said before, photography isn't a hobby for me - I just want to take good pictures easily and quickly. Nikon COOLPIX L24 14 MP Digital Camera with 3.6x NIKKOR Optical Zoom Lens and 3-Inch LCD (Black)

I purchased this camera for quick access during vacation and travel. Although the camera cannot zoom very far it still is a very good camera. Takes very clear pictures and can be slipped into your pockets very easily into my pocket. Transferring pictures is very easy just hook up the camera into the computer and click the you want and drag to the desktop. The only problem i have with the camera is that it has a hard time focusing on small texts. For example i want to copy a receipt and send it to the manufacturer it would come out blurry.

Overall this is a great camera and i would highly recommend this for travel or for quick takes

Although I haven't used all its features yet, I love this camera! The photos are sharp and clear, and it is so easy to use that I just took it out and started shooting. If I could post just one of my dragonfly photos in which you can see every vein in their wings there could be no doubt as to the quality of the photos. My 75 year old father saw how easy it is to use and the quality of the photos and asked me to get one for him. QED

Four stars, though, because the auto focus when using the macro function has difficulty focusing on objects that do not take up enough of the field of vision. It could use a manual focus or an easier way to manipulate the auto-focus.

Bought this camera for my daughter. One month later, the battery compartment door retention pins break, rendering the unit useless and there was no way to close the door-not even with tape. I learned of this in July as she was away at school, but it is 'guaranteed' for 1 year! Yay! I followed Nikon's directions to return to them. They advised me that they did not consider this covered as it was possible we may have dropped it or forced the door closed. I calmly explained that wasn't the case AND that we had a friend with the same camera and same problem! ALSO, you can read the reviews of this camera on various sites (or the L-22) to see that it's a common gripe. They would not fix it and wanted $93. After the postage/insurance to ship it to them, I could buy a new camera. But I will not ever buy another Nikon product. I am sticking with Canon as they have covered their product for me in the past OUT of warranty!!! You've been warned. - Nikon Coolpix - Powershot - Canon - Point And Shoot'

Iphone Car Charger - car chargers, ipad accessory

I don't know what the other poster was charging but it wasn't an Ipad. You plug this in, it says "not charging". The only thing this would charge is an Ipod. Spending 4 dollars I'm not going to return because its not worth my time, but what makes me angry is when vendors will do anything to make money, which includes lying. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY unless you want an Ipod charger Car Charger for Apple iPad, iPad2, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G. Support all iPad, iPod, iPhone Models (White)

I agree with the other gents post that the only thing this will charge is an IPOD not An IPAD

The ad is deceiving they Leeds you to believe so they can get the sale I hope others find this helpful

Yours truly disappointed x2

The charger is NOT 10W charger as vendor would like to suggest. It only charges ipad while ipad is in the "sleep mode." Even in this mode, the rate of charging is VERY slow. I did a test - it took 50 mins to bump ipad battery by 5%. If you want to use this charge in the car (which is the whole point), you will need keep this charger on for MANY hours in order to produce reasonable amount of power for your ipad. Vendor did responded to my request but I think vendor should do a better job to descrove the item accurately.

after buying this, and getting a not charging MSG, I called AppleSupport, they verified there is no car charger that currently works for iPad. Try original chgr with a 115V DC to AC inverter in car. this works fine.

Here's another real world review: this is crap! False advertising. It'll trickle charge an iPad, but only if the device is off. You can't use this to power an iPad. At any price, this is a rip off. These people are scamming you. DON'T BUY! - Car Chargers - Ipad Accessory - Ipad - Iphone'

Purity Made Simple - beauty, purity made simple

I wish I could love this product, but I don't. At the same time, I wish I could hate it so much I'd just throw it away, but I don't want to do that either.

I read so many good reviews about Purity that the first time I used it, I used it with my Clarisonic. Big mistake. My skin became so irritated afterwards that it caused an acne flare up. Purity has some irritating ingredients in it, such as black pepper (of all things...). Therefore most of the time I don't use this thing at all.

However, I have found that it works well for removing makeup. I don't know about the long-lasting types of makeup, but at least it works well for removing powder makeup. So that's a plus...

In short, if you're thinking about buying this, start with the smallest bottle you can find. Philosophy purity made simple facial cleanser - Purity Made Simple - Beauty - Philosophy - Excellent Product'

High Quality - micro drill bits, drill bit sets

Just trying to get the bits out of the case is frustrating. Don't bother trying to use these bits with a pin vise. They might work OK with a high speed drill, but are impossible to use otherwise. I would up returning these, as they don't work for me for scale model building. Trademark Tools Hawk 75-TJ6180 Micro Size Hobby Drill Bit Set, 20-Piece - Drill Bit Sets - Micro Drill Bits'

Pink Lingerie - lingerie, sexy dress

this purchase arrived on time and was well packaged. It was sealed tightly so that it's contents remained private. this halter dress fits just right and i am 5,9' 158lbs. the material is stretchy so i anticipate it being worn eventually, but it will definitely give a couple usage. the only 'disappointment' was the fact that this halter dress was a light a pink which i did not anticipate because the picture has it looking a dark pink/reddish color, i do realize though that it could very well be the settings on my monitor. to finish off this appealing look is the thong which fits just right as well. my fiancee was so eager to get to the contents of the package that he opened the package before i could get to it, then ironically, after being so eager to see it could not wait to get it off. highly recommended. 2pc. Strappy Fishnet Halter Dress with O ring and G-string O/S Fuchsia

Got it for the wife, and I can tell you that it is hot looking on her. She was kind enough to put on a little fashion show for me before I deployed(took some snap shots as well) and I was a very happy GI.

This is a truly great item, bought it from my girl and she LOVED it.

She is on the small side, 5"2 110 pounds, it fit her quite well, the material is VERY comfortable and stretchy.

All in all a great buy!

It arrived quickly and fit perfectly, except my breast. It doesn't cover D cups. The material is stretchy and comfortable. My boyfriend loved it and it is the perfect gift for any couple! I love wearing it as the girl, and he loves seeing it! Never felt sexier!!

This is an amazing lingerie. I am 5'6", 140lbs, it fits perfectly. It took me a little more time to put on but except that, this lingerie is perfect. It looks small when you got it out of the box but it stretch. It feels very comfortable and very sexy. My boyfriend loves it! The only thing is when i bend down, the bottom part kept rolls up, but I guess guys like that more :) I recommand this product!

I am a size 2 with a chest of size 34B and though I was afraid this would be too big it was not. I also believe that I would fit people larger than myself as well for it is very stretchy. Overall I am satisfied.

I got this to surprise my boyfriend for Valentines day. I ordered on Jan 26th and received it on Jan 29th. FAST shipping! The pieces don't quite cover my boobs but it looks good like that anyway. It is truly one size fits all.

This is a lot more bright neon pink than it looks in the picture. But its super stretchy and it will work for almost all body types. I have larger breasts, 34 dd and they dont really fit how theyre "supposed" to in this, but it still looks hot. This would look great on smaller cheasted women but works for larger chests as well. Its a lot better on than it looks in the picture too. Im happier than I thought i would be with this! Its super comfortable and easy to wear. Its one of my favorite pieces of lingerie - Lingerie - Sexy Dress - Mini Dress - Sexy'

Apple Care - applecare, mac

Actually, first shipment was the wrong product. But, I shop at Amazon becuase their service is so good. I told them it was the wrong product, they sent out the correct product immediately.

Otherwise, not much to say. Applecare for my Mac Mini. AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac Mini (OLD VERSION)

Worth every penny! Unless you are a computer guru, and always up-to-date, you want the telephone support, and you will need it, When the usual "clicks" do not work, and that is happening more and more often, it's hard to find a bypass. Every now and then, even members of the apple support team fail to provide a correct answer. With the extended CARE plan advise is at least (almost) free of charge.

Amazon offered the best prize for it - 30 Dollars off.

I went back and forth on whether you need to purchase AppleCare for the mac mini due to the low cost of the device. From my experience with other apple products (macbooks, iMacs), I decided to pull the trigger for peace of mind. Adds an additional 2 years to the built in 1 year warranty. Aside from swapping out the RAM, it would be very difficult to perform any troubleshooting on this machine, and even though Apple products may seem like they are better than other computer manufacturers, remember most of the internals are not made by Apple. Their failure rate is no better. If you buy a macbook pro AppleCare is a no brainer, same might go for an iMac. With the price point of a mac mini at 600 or so, it is a difficult decision but we will see if it was the right decision. One issue and it will easily pay for itself.

This is an extended warranty. I think it is a must for laptops. I bought this for my new MacMini and the Amazon price made it worth getting it. You get 3 years of support and peace of mind. Apple support is very good

Recently I purchased a slightly used Mac Mini from a friend whose employer paid for a MacBook Pro (awesome, right?). He did not have AppleCare, but as the Mini was well within its one-year initial warranty, I was able to add it. Amazon provided a great discount, and using the number on the box, online registration with Apple went smoothly.

When buying AppleCare, make sure you get the right one for your Mac's make and model. You can go to the Apple website, Support page, and click the link for Check your Service and Support Coverage. Enter your Mac's serial number (usually laser-engraved on the back or bottom of your Mac) and they'll suggest an appropriate AppleCare policy. Use the policy name to search for a matching AppleCare policy on Amazon.

FYI, Apple will sometimes price match in store; I did this recently for AppleCare on a MacBook Pro of my own. Worth a try, and if they won't, just buy it from Amazon. - Apple Care - Applecare - Mac'
