Horses

I have been getting Blaze magazine for the last 2 years. It is totally awesome and I love it. I have learned so much about horses. The contests are great too, I have won some prizes. I recommend you read Blaze if you love horses like I do. They also have a really cool website and I've found penpals there. Blaze Magazine'

Automatic Watches

I have owned this watch for approximately six months and absolutely love it! I have received a number of compliments on the appearance and it wears very well on the wrist. My favorite aspects are the color of the watch with the leather band and the deployment clasp. It is very well made and keeps fantastic time. It does not hold the cache of an Omega or Rolex, but it does not have the price either. I plan on keeping this watch for a long time. Bulova Men's 96A108 Automatic Mechanical Strap Brown Dial Watch

Although I had some problem to start up the watch, but eventually I got over the problem. What happened was I followed the instruction of the paper and 'manually' winded the watch 5-6 times, and realise the energy stored didn't even last for 2 hours. However, after some googlings, I decided to wind it for one minute long and it's working perfectly fine now. If you wanna see the watch in action, you can youtube it here.. [...]

This watch sets a delicate balance between style and functionality. I love the fact that this watch is casual enough to wear everyday, yet stylish enough to wear with a suit. The transparent back adds a nice touch to the look of the watch even if you can't see the back of the watch while your wearing it. Perhaps my favorite part about the watch is the clicking mechanism used to fasten the watch to your wrist. At first I was a bit skeptical, but once I figured out how it works I really liked it. The clip that fastens the watch to your wrist essentially does the same thing as the "clips" that metal watches have. Perhaps the only downside to the watch is that if you don't wear it frequently the watch will stop keeping time since there is no battery(the watch is powered by the natural movement of your hand). But, Amazon does have some automatic winders for cheap that can keep the watch from "dying".

Beautiful looking watch that looks great with both a suit or a casual night out in a pair of jeans. It sits comfortably on the wrist.

The exhibition back is just brilliant exposing all the inner workings and the jewels but the exposure on the front adds the perfect finishing touch.

The brilliance of the leather and the richness of colour in the face of the watch is accentuated that much more with the white hands.

A great buy for the price.

This is a great watch. It looks great, feels good, great band, and sweeping movement. You would think is a $1000.00 SWISS watch, but its made in the USA.

With this on your wrist, you will look like you have status, great taste, and make a good living! You won't regret this.

I couldn't be happier with this one. I'd have to say even at retail price it has great value. I was back & forth on it until I actually saw it in the store, it is brilliant in person!! Excluding the crown this is a 42 mm case diameter, including the crown the polished stainless steel case is right at 45mm. The description of 41mm was part of my initial hesitation. Leather strap is very nice (almost too dressy) but casual enough for me. Dial is beautiful with the balance wheel window at 7 o'clock. Pretty smooth sweep of second hand, exhibition case back & deployment clasp there's little to complain about.. Maybe missing a sapphire crystal?? But, not really a huge deal for those that go pretty easy on their watches and it also helps to keep the price down.

Overall, its hard to find one nicer at this price or even in the much more expensive ranges.

this watch looks great. I initially bought this to be worn at work but it is bit on the dressy but I don't care. it looks great and deployment buckle is a bonus. this can be worn at work or to go out.

I have owned and been wearing this watch for a month now. This time piece is absolutely amazing both in appearance and ability to keep flawless time. You put the watch up to your ear and unless there is absolute quite around you, you cant hear the watch ticking and this is a sign of a quality timepiece. As stated by others, the watch is practical for everyday wear or as a dress watch. the band (Calf Leather) is beautiful, stylish, and very comfortable. The only issue I have with the watch is that the bezel does not lock down which makes me uncomfortable about wearing it in water. (I have had it on while in the shower with no problems though.) I would definately buy other watches through Amazon and when I do it will again be Bulova. "Time Flies-Bulova Soars"

When it has came down to Bulova, they've made so many great watches, Bulova has known how to make some timeless watches. But there are ones that could've been much, much more for their effort. That is the case with their Automatic Brown Dial Strap. The watch isn't a bad one, but it can quickly slow down, and you'd have to wind it back up very quickly, each time you wear it. It isn't a bad watch, but honestly it doesn't last longer than the ones that Victronox Swiss Army have made so consitently. It isn't a bad buy, but honestly Bulova makes better quartz watches than they do with mechanicals. I would honestly suggest you pass this one up, and get another one for its price.

Ngk - bosch, fuel economy

This is the correct plug for most E46 Series BMWs. The price is a small fraction of the dealer cost. It is of the same high quality as every other original part on your BMW. The other clear choice for plugs is the Bosch. Both are of equivalent, superb quality.

BMW rates either the Bosch or the NGK plug for 100,000 miles when used on an E46. People who do their own work often change them at 50,000 miles and experience faster starts. Getting access to the cylinder head requires the removal of four "Torqx" head bolts which secure the cabin ventilation cowl the the front of fire-wall above the aft portion of the engine. This is the only real barrier to entry, and it is a deliberate one to keep tinkerers away from the engine. (BMW keeps the unskilled away from their engines by making the engine cover removal non-obvious). There are many good videos on Youtube on how to do this. If you have not seen someone else do the job before, the task will be made easier by watching someone else demonstrate the task for you, on Youtube. Understanding the interlock on the connectors to the spark coils which sit above each plug for instance, is non-obvious to those who have not seen someone do the job before.

In this economy many people are doing their own maintenance who would not have dreamed of it three or four years ago. Many of the user forums and the videos available on Youtube offer excellent, step by step advice, on common procedures. These are an excellent aide to learning how to do careful, methodical work on these basic maintenance tasks. NGK (3199) BKR6EQUP Multi-Ground Spark Plug, Pack of 1

Just replaced my BMW plugs - these are the ones recommeded, but cost 4 times as much at the dealer, and almost twice as much everywhere else online I looked.

Came quickly, and are obviously new and in good shape. They came in individual boxes, instead of a 6-pack, but for the price, who cares????

You probably never considered buying Spark Plugs from Amazon.

But I bought these to replace my OEM plugs on my 98 BMW.

They are the same exact plugs sans the BMW logo stamped on the side.

The shipping is perfect and the price is the most inexpensive I found ANYWHERE!

Childrens Software - scholastic, preschool

This was my sons first computer game. Its easy to use and understand also flexible work with the mouse. Very quickly he was able to play on his own. The game is on one hand challenging for my son yet he succeeds enough not to get frustrated. There's a wide variety of things to do and the different levels add new interest to any given game. I think you really get allot here for your investment. Educationally there's a little bit of everything. This CD isn't a "learn math" or "learn how to read" application but it reinforces basic skills of counting, adding, rhymes, shape recognition, planning and fun perfect for 4-5 year old. Clifford the Big Red Dog Learning Activities

This is a really neat CD for kids. It is challenging, yet the game is very easy to navigate for kids. I can sit my daughter down, let her play, and not have to worry about her getting stuck because she cannot navigate. This is not some cheap game that is similar to the freebies online either. There are plenty of activities that really challenge my daughter. Plus, the activities get progressively harder. I have Blue's Clues, Stanley, Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Dinosaurs, and a few other games for her, but she likes this one best - even after some of the "newness" has worn off.

My son (3 1/2 ) loves this game. He can easily switch the level of difficulty depending on the activity and loves the payoff in the end. He is now interested in doing mazes and patten sequencing as a result of this program. It is cute, fun and right on target for the age group. We are very happy with this purchase.

Easy to use, educational and fun game for 3 to 5 year olds. My son, 7, is too mature for this game now, but he used to play it a lot and learned patterns, letter sounds, rhymes and counting. My daughter, 4, is very much into it and is learning the same things too.

The Clifford Big Red Dog CDs for Maths & Reading are exceptionally educational & Fun for the growing Child. My daughter started saying words & sentences within 2-3 times of running the CD lessons & started to put Patterns & Numbers in Sequences, Spatial Reasoning also rather quickly.I HIGHLY recommend this Educational CD as a Learning Tool.

My son had a lot of fun with this software package, but it's not something where you can leave your kid with it and go do something else. The interface is confusing. The cursor often disappears and reappears during the normal course of loading the introduction to certain games, which makes it very confusing for a little guy who just got into a game he's already played and just wants to get out of the game but can't.

Also, the interfaces are not consistant. Some use the gold arrow cursor all the time, while others have the cursur disappear and suddenly one of tha dog characters becomes directly manipulated by the mouse. Again, not consistent and can be quite confusing for a small child.

Then there's the fact that it's really just about a half-dozen games that can be played through in about an hour, and then where do you go after that? To another software package, probably. Of course, there's three difficulty levels and that may make the games interesting for a second or third play.

The bottom line is this is a cute but needlessly confusing (the maze with T-bone is really hard, not maze but the mouse interface) set of game software that will likely have you hovering over your child and helping him/her rather than going off and doing something while you're offspring use the computer.

We started out with Thinking Adventures, and I was so impressed, I ordered the Phonics, Reading, and now the Learning Activities. My boys (twins 5, and younger one - 3) absolutely love every one of them! All three of them will take turns around the computer for at least an hour with one of the Clifford games in. Highly recommeded!

As a teacher, I find this game to be educational and fun for children. It has upper and lower case letter matching, patterning, color matching, sorting, counting, number recognition and early reading skills. My 4 and 5 year old really enjoy it and can navigate on their own. I would consider this a good purchase.

My 5 year old daughter loves this game. It is easy to use, fun and educational. Indeed, it is hard to get my kid off the computer once she pops in Clifford. Last night she was playing this game and I asked her if she wanted to watch Liar Liar or Bruce Almighty (she's a Jim Carrey nut!). Normally she would drop everything and anything to watch either of those movies, but last night she didn't want to. She wanted to keep playing her Clifford game on the computer. That's when I knew I had to write a 5 star review for this software. If you have kids aged 3ish to 6ish... oh, you gotta get them this! - Preschool - Clifford - Early Learning - Scholastic'

Magnetic Soap Holder - soap holder, magnetic soap holder

I had seen this type of magnet soap holder a long time ago in someone else's home and always remembered how clean it kept the basin and seemingly fun it was. Could it be that the inexpensive, sucker-securing version sold here would be as nice as the one from my memories?

Sure enough, the rubber seal secures perfectly on the backsplash of the bathroom sink, and the magnet that presses into the soap holds well. My spouse was skeptical about the whole idea, but there's no more yucky soap scum build-up, our soap lasts longer, our kid is encouraged to use the soap because the magnet is fun, and the chrome look blends in with the other accents in the bathroom.

It might not be for you, but I would suggest you give it a try! Kikkerland Magnetic Soap Holder with Suction Cup

The idea is great and it does what it is supposed to do.

However, the arm is only around 2 inches long so it can't keep the soap very far from the mirror. That defeats the purpose of keeping the counter top clean as the soap drips over the counter rather in the basin.

I bought this thinking it would be a neat novelty item. It did not hold any soap for me. I tried Dove, Dial, and Irish Spring. I can now see why someone is holding it in one of the sample pictures. I even went to an area hotel for some of the small thin soap and it didn't even hold that! This does NOT, i repeat Not work. It looks like it is made out of metal... it isn't. It is all plastic besides the magnet and metal piece that is supposed to be attracted to the magnet. I am very disappointed in this product.

Had my doubts, but this works quite well. Suction if very good and thought that the disk magnet that you stick into the soap bar would come out/be a pain as you got to the end of the soap, but no problems whatsoever. Even heavy large bars have stayed put. Getting another for the kid's shower!

I first saw these in England in the 80s and purchased one there.

Loved the one in our friends house.

But when we put ours up, first thing we found was soap and water dripped onto counter, our sinks are not free standing or large like they are in England. Still used it until soon the bottle cap wont hold in the soap, keeps dropping the soap out. I tried several soaps, none worked. I think you need a very hard soap for this thing. If you have a large sink that it hangs over and find a good hard soap, you will love it.

I don't think I would use one in the shower for fear of slipping on the soapy drips or the soap itself.

I do love these little magnetic soap holders. I have purchased several before, but I must say that I am having a terrible time keeping the suction cup to stick...to almost anything. It will not stick to the tile in my bathroom at all. It will not stick to the glass in my shower. It will, however, stick to the kitchen sink back splash, although it falls frequently. Has anyone else encounter this problem with this product? I have even cut my soap in half to lighten the load. It still falls. Any suggestions out there?

I put one of these in shower and it would not stay up. It kept falling down within 10 minutes. That was until I looked up how to get suction cups to stick to showers. It turns out that the wall wasn't clean. So I cleaned the soap scum and dirt off the spot I was trying to stick it, and now it stays up sturdy! - Soap Holder - Magnetic Soap Holder - Holder - Soap Dish'

Computer Speakers

I just plugged these babies in, it was really easy. Just opened the box, plugged the USB cable in, and turned my computer on. You might have to restart your computer if it doesn't immediately recognize the speakers. There was no popping noise like some of the other reviewers experienced. I guess they were just unlucky. They sound pretty good, especially compared to the crappy Altec Lansing speaker built into my HP laptop. Even with every volume control turned all the way up, I could barely here the audio on movies and music which is why I wanted laptop speakers. And I wanted plug and play speakers powered through a USB cord rather than an AC Adapter. And I didn't want to pay over $20. The S150 speakers met all of these criteria. They're great! Logitech S150 USB Speakers with Digital Sound

I generally place a lot of stock in the customer reviews, as for the most part I have found the majority of the ratings to be accurate indicators of product quality. Accordingly, I purchased the Logitech S150 USB powered speakers based on relatively strong reviews. The first pair that I received rattled terribly and I thought that I just got a bad pair and ordered a second set. The second set is slightly better than the first, but the right control speaker to both sets rattle, sometimes excessively. The speakers will play adequately at low volumes, but if turned up to even a moderate level to overcome normal background noise, the right speaker will rattle, at least two for two for me. My recommendation is to purchase a different speaker. However there are some positive aspects to these speakers - they are attractive, small and the sound quality is not too bad, if the right speakers did not rattle, the S150 USB speakers would certainly rate at least a 4 based on the price.

Update, Fix: The source of the rattle is the three control buttons at the base of the speaker, to eliminate the rattle, place a piece of 3M magic tape over the buttons, cut slightly larger than the width and length of the buttons, just make sure there is enough tape to keep the buttons from vibrating in the speaker housing. The tape is elastic and permits the buttons to function, and if done carefully, doesn't detract from the speaker's appearance. The sound is now quite good, even at loud volumes.

I ordered these from Newegg, and the speakers I received did not have the goofy volume knob on the side. The digital USB speakers should have buttons on the front that directly control the Windows volume bar.

Here is my review from Newegg:

Pros: These USB speakers have crystal clear sound with no buzz or hum. The volume is plenty loud for normal use. They are perfect for listening to music while I work. The stereo effect and ability to produce faint sounds are excellent. No bulky, power strip hogging adapter is needed. The speakers turn on and off with the computer. The USB drivers installed automatically (Windows XP). I cannot believe these speakers are so inexpensive.

Cons: The shipping cost almost as much as the speakers. There is not much bass, but there is more than I expected with small speakers. Music still sounds very good. The bass is certainly better than earphones.

Other Thoughts: I was hesitant to go with USB, but I am very happy I did. I wanted to be able to use these in a bedroom, I wanted zero noise with the computer off, and I did not want to have to remember to turn the speaker power off. Each speaker is 6.5"H x 2.75"W x 2.25"D. The USB cord is about 4' and is about the same length as my keyboard and mouse. I like the power light that reads "DIGITAL". The buttons on the front directly control the Windows volume bar with a mute button in the middle. If the volume level is too loud, you can double click the Windows volume icon and reduce the volume input of the "Wave" device.

I bought these based on reviews and price, and they're perfect. I wanted USB hookups and no bulky AC adapter. These are a great size, very streamlined and have a great sound. They're perfect for listening to music in my small apartment, but probably wouldn't be good for a a huge party to play music in a huge house. My apartment is probably like 600 sq. feet and I can hear it in the whole apartment when I have it on the highest setting. Seriously, for $12 you can't go wrong. Highly recommend!

I am very impressed by these speakers. At first I was concerned about their cheap price and small size. I was also worried that they would be underpowered because they are USB powered. The price was low. so what the heck. The box says they are Vista compatible. They work great on my Mac too. Had a problem using them with a new Linux Netbook though. Good bass and mids. In fact, I haven't ever heard good base from speakers this small before. I give them 2 thumbs up and 4 stars. I'd give them 5 stars if they worked with Ubuntu Linux.

Purchased these for a replacement to a monitor I had with built in speakers. I use the Outlook calendar feature extensively to keep me on track for meetings and need the sound feature to keep me moving along. These speakers were just the right size for my cluttered desk, price was very affordable and the sound quality is adequate for my need. I would recommend purchasing these to anyone interested.'

Component Receivers - 600w, home theater system

Bought this Friday afternoon and it was at my doorstep Saturday morning. Less than 24 hours. Fantastic. Got a great price ($299) and signed up for the free trial of Amazon Prime, which gave me next day shipping for $3. Setup was fairly simple. I used my own speaker wire that I had already ran from my previous surround sound. The on-screen setup when using HDMI input/output is fantastic. Had it all hooked up in about 20 minutes and had the sound quality perfect after another 15 messing around in the settings. I've watched a Blu-Ray movie and a baseball game already and so far I am very impressed. The lows and mids were dead on but I had to tinker with the highs a bit before I got it where I wanted it. I imagine room size and viewing distance all plays a part.

My only con would be the "keyhole" on the back of the speakers that is used for mounting. I would have preferred a threaded hole or a latch rather than just using a screw through a keyhole mounted on the wall.

That all said, I recommend this Home Theater to anyone looking for a quality entry level system for a small to medium sized room. I also think the receiver alone is worth $299. Tons of inputs and plenty of settings to please even the pickiest audiofile. Onkyo HT-S3400 5.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver/Speaker Package

Everything seems great so far. I have some pretty decent monitor speakers hooked up instead of the fronts, so I cant comment on the entire system. That said, the receiver has every option I could ever need. You can't find a receiver for 300$ that is better, or has more options than this one, so with the speakers and sub included it seems like a great deal. Took 10-15 minutes to set up. Easy on screen menu and set-up options. I had a Denon AVR-391 that I just returned to Best Buy, and this Onkyo Receiver has an extra optical audio input, and the audio actually passes through the hdmi cables where the Denon didnt. Absolutely no complaints after watching a couple TV shows and listening to different types of music, everything sounds really good for the price.

This is the upgraded version of Onkyo Ht-S3300, you can read reviews on that product, it is basically the same except 3400 has an extra HDMI input. As long as you buy this product realizing you are buying a budget entry into home theater audio you will be extremely pleased. While the manual is confusing crap, set up doesnt even require the manual. Just hook up the wires into the appropriate colors, and then hook up your devices. Remember, this receiver does not convert a A/V response to HDMI, so if its HDMI in, it is HDMI out, and if it is Composite in, then composite out.

Also take note that the sub woofer is passive, and the receiver is more passive speaker level sub woofer, so if you upgrade in the future, make sure the sub you buy also accepts speaker wire input, and not just RCA.

With those said, this system is great for small rooms. The passive bass produces adequate sound, it has 4 HDMI inputs (which is plenty for my set up: cable, ps3, tv, pc). It handles inputs from each of these very well, and the dynamic Audyssey Equalizer works nicely for these speakers.

As long as you realize you arent buying high quality BOSE speakers, but instead budget entry level home theater in a box, there is no way you will not be 100% pleased with the purchase.

This is my first Onkyo product. I had a mix and match system that was mainly Sony components. It was not HDMI compatible, but it sounded pretty good. At least I thought it did.

I spent several weeks researching home theater systems ranging from $300 up to $500. This system met all of my needs I was wanting. Multiple HDMI inputs, 3D ready, Dolby HD and DTS HD decoders, and at least 100 watts per channel. This system actually has 110 watts for a total of 660 watts. I looked at Sony, JVC, Phillips, and even another Onkyo system. All of them had great features, but this one had all the right features for the best price. Others had also rated this system very highly, and not just on Amazon. There are several 3rd party reviews about this system just after it was released that show it is a very respectable budget home theater system. This system was just rleased by Onkyo in February 2011. Independent reviews are hard to find on new products from professionals, but this product has several. It is even more attractive with the deep discount offered through Amazon.

I received the system in just a few days and immediately set it up. I had existing wiring in place already, so I did not use the included color coded speaker wiring. The included wiring is only 18 guage. I had 16 guage in my ceiling and it fit just fine. I don't recommend using anything bigger than 16 guage as it probably won't fit in the terminals. The speakers are marked on the back to identify their designated location, like Center, Front Right, Rear Right, etc. I don't think it matters mixing right and left, but there is a physical appearance difference between front, rear, and center speakers. After everything was hooked up I set up a radio station to do a sound check. I must say it was pleasantly impressive. I thought my Sony system sounded good. This sounded better.

I tweaked the system setup a bit and the sound got event better and fuller with the subwoofer. The sub is not powered, but it's not the end of the world. The receiver is more than capable of handling the 8" down driver. I attached my home theater PC and tested the Dolby Digital sound abilities. Again, I was impressed with the rich surround sound. It has handled everything I have thrown at it very nicely.

Since the installation I have watched Blu-Ray movies, and the NBA finals games. The HD sound is awesome. When watching the NBA Finals It feels like I am at the game.

If you choose to buy this system, I do not think you will be disappointed. The only drawback I have discovered is the multi system control ability of the remote. It can control the receiver and probably a DVD player, but that's it. It misses out on the Sattelite/Cable systems. Most Cable/Satellite remotes have truoble controlling Audio systems effectively. I will probably invest in a Harmony remote to get rid of the clutter. I didn't fele the remote issue was enough to warrant dropping a star. - Home Theater System - Ht - 600w - Onkyo'

One Hand Trekker - victorinox, pocket knife

This is a great set for many reasons, but the quality of the two products in the set is tremendous. With a small pocket knife and a larger knife with more substantial features, it covers all bases. The One Handed Trekker is one of my favorite knives from the Swiss Army collection. I have one in my car and one in my hiking pack. It provides the best wood saw on a knife that is out there and the helpful feature of the one handed blade locking when it place is not only helpful buy extremely safe to its owners.

I'm not sure what has to be written about the Classic SD knife from Swiss Army. I believe everyone should have these with them at all times. Small and lightweight enough that you forget you have it, until you need it. You will be shocked how many times you will use this handy pocket tool during a day. Victorinox Swiss Army One Hand Trekker with Free Classic Knife

I have had a Victorinox Swiss Army knife at some point in my life ever since I was in the Scouts. The Saw blade and the liner lock on the partially serrated knife blade are the reasons I love the Trekker. The black textured finish on the handle is icing. It is hard to speak on the quality of Victorinox unless you have used some of the knock offs. I have and from the use of the knives to opening and closing the different tools one can tell the difference straight away. The tools open freely but only in the direction that they were intended to, no side to side movement. They close the same way, but not unexpectedly. They are like well made watches every part no matter how small or insignificant it may seem is made and engineered perfectly. The classic knife that is included is no exception. This is a knife that Victorinox could have cut corners on, or got lazy with years ago after the success with all their other items, but they haven't. The classic knife is a small perfect little ruby crafted as well as a one of their watches.

This is a heck of a knife! Very strong and very useful. The only thing I don't like is that the lock for the main blade is set up for a left-handed user. It is still easy to open the knife with either hand, and closing it with the right hand is still do-able. I took it for a weekend hiking trip and it handled every task, from cooking to fire making, like a pro.

When one hears the term "new and improved" it can often cause one to cringe, as it sometimes means that the new improvements have been cosmetic and sometimes even result in a lower quality for the resulting product. Luckily for us, that's not the case with the Victorinox Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker, which comes with a free Victorinox Classic Knife. See my photo in the product page for a good size comparison.

Have had a bit over a year to experience using this new Victorinox Swiss Army One-Hand Trekker, and have found that it exceeded every one of my high expectations. Those expectations were based on prior ownership of many of this company's products, including the Victorinox Swiss Army Midnite Minichamp, the Swiss Army Champion Plus, the Swiss Army Ranger and more. Each of these products had served me well, and some of them have seen service for years.

First Impressions:

Didn't know what to expect when I first heard about Victorinox making changes to the basic design of the classic Swiss Army Knife that we've all known for years, but based on the quality that had been found in their earlier products, it was worth a shot to try out this model. There were two things that stood out immediately: the new locking serrated blade and the 4-3/8 inch long black handle. Immediately found out that the ergonomic handle, larger than most genuine Swiss Army knives, fit my hand perfectly... it was love at first grip. Further found that the new serrated blade was amazingly good, and that the locking feature was just what many of us had wondered about and requested for years. Just shows that this is a company that listens to the desires of its customers and then responds.

Features:

* Ergonomic handle, measures 4-3/8 inches (111 mm) long.

* Full-length serrated locking blade.

* Phillips screwdriver, a real one, at 90 degrees from the handle.

* Wood saw... and it really works.

* Reamer blade, also 90 degrees from the handle.

* Flat blade large locking screwdriver, which incorporates a wire stripper.

* Can opener with a small flat blade screwdriver on the end.

* Classic toothpick and tweezers. Useful when you least expect it.

* Key ring. Personally use this with a small lanyard, and not for keys.

Overall Impression:

Having spent over a year with this SAK, really a true multipurpose tool, has made me put my other Swiss Army knives away as far as day-to-day functionality goes. The engineers at Victorinox have come up with a winner with the One Hand Trekker, and it's proof that someone wasn't asleep at the wheel when it came to incorporating real functionality with contemporary ergonomic design.

Pros:

* Excellent ergonomic handle, practical locking blade.

* Good value for the money when considering a multipurpose tool.

* Excellent fit and finish, as one would expect from Victorinox.

* Useful assortment of practical tools in a small package.

* Lifetime warranty, as in all Victorinox knives.

Cons:

* No included belt sheath. It's an optional extra.

Note: As an added bonus, this package comes with a free Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife. This little gem is also a keeper or can be the perfect gift item for someone who appreciates good workmanship. There are other good reviews on the Classic, so I'll just stick with the One-Hand Trekker here.

In Summary:

When it comes to day by day functionality, the Victorinox One-Hand Trekker may be the most useful Swiss Army knife yet. The design is excellent, and the choice of tools (or blades) in this product may prove to be perfect for many. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with even a basic belt sheath for those of us with too much in their pockets already. If you wish to forgo the toothpick and tweezers, look at the Victorinox One-Hand Trekker German Army Multi-Tool with its distinctive Bundeswehr dark green handle. If you prefer Swiss neutrality, then there's the new standard-issue Victorinox Swiss Army Soldier Knife, which has a unique ergonomic dual-density handle, and even had the production year etched on blade shank. The latter is my next one, that's for sure.

The Victorinox One-Hand Trekker is a 5-star product, and one that looks like it will be one that this reviewer will be using for many years to come. - One Hand Trekker - Victorinox - Multi-tool - Pocket Knife'

Fitness Ball - fitness ball

I got this workout ball because I have cats and every time I've gotten one in the past the cats seem to be able to pop them with their claws. This one is great because it can't be popped and it just feels sturdier. The only problem I have with it is that I am exactly 5'6 and it is on the small side for me. So I would recommend that if you are on the edge of what they recommend for size, go the one step bigger otherwise you will regret it. Thera-band Yellow 45cm Slow Deflate System Pro-Series Anti-Burst Exercise Ball - For Body Height 4' 7" - 5'

I purchased this ball in the 55 cm size (red). This size seems ideal for my height (just shy of 5'5"), although choice of ball size is also a matter of personal preference. Unlike my previous ball, which was made of a thin, sticky vinyl, this ball is made of thick durable, smooth plastic. Furthermore, my previous ball lost air easily (I had to add air to it every time I used it), whereas I have NEVER had to add air to this ball since I purchased it almost two years ago. It is definitely worth the investment to pay a little more for a ball that is high quality and will never any maintenance, and so I highly recommend this product.

Love it! My physical therapist had me using one while in PT, & I just bought one to continue the good work. If I have it around the house, I'm much more likely to actually do the exercises that I know I need to do, & I can do them whenever a commercial comes on during TV shows. It's sturdy, easy to inflate/deflate. I just took it on a trip out of state for aweek-long conference, & it really was easy to pack. Once @ the hotel, I asked @ the desk clerk if anywhere on site there was a bike pump, & it turned out they had a compressor that blew it up lickety-split, to just the firmness I needed. So I was able to do my exercises just as if I were @ home, & without carrying bulky or heavy exercise equipment along.

The Theraball brand exercise ball is one of the best on the market. Many physical therapists use them because of their very high quality. I just bought the 55cm ball and also own a 65cm one, which I've had for over a year.

The product holds the air well once it is inflated - so it is not one you have to keep inflating! It is good to know that it is an "anti-burst" ball too.

I had such a good experience with IsoKinetics, the seller on Amazon, that I just placed another order with them for a shoulder pulley. I got the product in record time and there was good communication from them on when the order was received and when it was shipped. Their shipping costs were also reasonable. Everything was packaged well. I ordered a pump and some Therabands at the same time and everything was great. Order from them with confidence!

When I was a personal trainer, I used these with my clients. Fantastic product. The only thing is, I disagree with their sizing chart. I think you out to go with a size or two smaller than the height chart calls for. You want your knees to be bent at a 90 degree angle when you are sitting on the ball to allow for maximum benefit and full range of motion (if you're going to actually be using the ball to exercise, and not just bounce on when you're bored).

I bought two of these Thera Band exercise balls. My electric air pump would inflate them 10-15cm (in diameter) short of the target size. I was afraid I might burst the ball. After some hunting online, we learned we needed to use an air compressor. It worked like magic.

I would disagree with the other reviewers who claim the balls aren't big enough. They are, but you need an air compressor. This is a very high quality product, much thicker than my previous exercise ball.

I originally recieved a defective product, but the customer service perople were very helpful and immediately sent me out antother ball (before I returned the first one). The second ball inflated easily to the true size described and it is very sturdy. I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend this product.

The Theraband exercise ball is the highest quality ball I have purchased. The only negative is the initial stiffness of the ball. After inflating the ball, it was pretty hard for the first few weeks, making crunches somewhat uncomfortable. In the long run, however, once completely broken in, I think this ball will prove its worth.

When I received this item and had my husband inflate the ball, we found that the air valve was defective. I called customer service and they immediately shipped out a replacement ball along with a postage paid label for me to return the defective ball. The new ball is just fine, and is suited to my height. Overall, I am very satisfied with it and with the company that sent me the ball. - Fitness Ball'

Comfortable Chair - comfortable chair, chaise lounge

After reading numerous reviews on the chairs, i was a little concerned with the mixed responses. First let me say the price is the best I found. Second the shipping was amazingly fast, I think 3 or 4 days total. As far as when they arrived the boxes were a little beat up but the chairs were fine, plus the company can't control the shipping once it leaves. The directions were not bad but I am pretty patient and can use a pair of tools. I put them together in about an hour or so and that was while watching tv and sitting on the floor taking my time. The finished product went together fine, I personally had no issues with missing hardware, holes not lined up, and the quality was WELL worth the money. I have only had them outside for a day or two and I personally spent the time to rub them down with teak oil, $10 for a can at Home Depot. We also purchased polyester covers that we will keep on the chairs when not in use. I was a little worried about the stain leaching from the chairs based on other reviews so I oiled them and cobvered them, but I would do that even if the reviews never said anything about the stain. Bottom line, well worth the price, I bought them for my wife for her birthday as well as the chaise lounges made by Stratwood and couldn't be happier. Strathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood Arm Chair, Set of 2

We ordered 2 sets of these chairs along with the matching table based on all the glorious reviews I read on amazon. I now think that most of the reviewers wrote their reviews in their excitement upon just having taken them out of the box. But the question that needs to be asked is: does the furniture stand up to the test of time?

We were just as excited as the other reviewers when we first started using the furniture, as brand new it looked like a nice step up from our previous set which had kind of gotten old. But after only a couple of months we already started to notice the wood cracking, even to the extent of giving splinters (which even if we didn't have little kids would still be far from ideal). Now after a mere six months or so, the table has increasingly started to show disturbingly ugly areas of what appears to be dark green mold.

The website tells you that there is already a protective coating of hard wood oil on the pieces. Well, if that is so I must say that it must be so minimal that it can safely be said to be ineffective.

The website also tells you that it is optional to apply hard wood oil, and if one does not it will not be detrimental to the furniture and will only cause it to change color over time and show slight cracking. Nowhere does it tell you about splinters, whole pieces of the outer wood layer coming off leaving sharp areas(in the case of one of the chairs, which along with the table I had thought were solid wood...?!) , nor is there mention of molding (all appearing within the first year of use).

We live in San Diego where we get plenty of sun but not much rain (although the nights have humidity). I have come to understand that this furniture cannot handle either rain nor shine.....pretty sad for outdoor furniture if you ask me. We would never have bought these knowing what we know now.

So if you decide to buy these pieces, my recommendation is; only do so if you have the time to add a substantial layer of protective coating on them as soon as you set them up. Or keep them covered whenever they are not in use. If this is all too much hassle for you, look elsewhere. Hope this helps.

Fabulous price, great appearance . . . but these chairs are not comfortable for lounging. These are more like a good-sized dining chair, not the large chairs I envisioned for reading the morning paper on the patio. I'm perched in the chairs, not relaxed. I'd return them, but of course waited too long to set up then make a decision.

I have purchased these chairs with 3 other pieces to create a seating area in our school library. We are very pleased with the quality and appearance, not to mention a price much lower than other sets I had found.

When I first placed this order, I was scared to death (because of a negative review) that I was only going to receive one chair. It is a PAIR of chairs, with cushions, and they are gorgeous! We ordered this set along with the coffee table and two-seater bench for an amazing patio set. So many compliments on it already! Shipping was very fast, and it was so easy to put together. Highly recommended!!

We purchased these chairs with the matching bench, and are very pleased!

Pros:

SUPER easy to assemble (two adults, one on crutches, less than an hour for both chairs and a bench with the "help" of an energetic 2 yr old.)

Looks a lot more expensive than it was!

Cons:

The cushions are thin, and won't be comfortable for long periods on the patio, but that's an easy fix.

The back cushions are.. odd. The cushion itself is big enough to cover all of the rails, but the velcro attachment is short so that it only really covers about four slats. This forces you to squish some of the cushion through the slats to fully fasten the back cushions.

The fabric the cushions are covered in.. I wouldn't leave it out exposed to the elements... Be prepared to either replace it, launder it (a lot), or bring them in each evening.

First, open a side flap on the outside box. This will expose two inner boxes, each containing a seperate chair. Then open the side flap of one of the inner boxes. This will expose the chair tied together with nylon straps. Pull up on the chair using the strap. Then open the other inner box using the same procedure. This will allow for easy disposal of the cardboard for recycling.

Now for putting the chairs together. First they are well design and easy to put together. Tools are supplied for the assembly, in fact they even include a screwdriver for the 4 wood screws.

Here is the easiest way to assemble the chairs:

1. Attach the back at the top using the two bolts. The correct bolts are the ones which DO NOT have the fastening nut on them. By doing this it allows for you to have the chair to stand up with much assistance.

2. Then install the lower bolt. The bag includes two hex wrenches. Use one of them to lineup the treaded hole for the bolt. Once the bolt is started you can remove the hex wrench.

3. The last step should be screwing in the four wood screws. I used a cordless drill with a screwdriver bit. Be careful not to strip the wood.

The set is EASY to assemble. Well designed. And the cushions good great and are also well designed.

I HIGHLY recommend these chairs, especially for the price. - Outdoor Furniture - Strathwood - Chaise Lounge - Comfortable Chair'
