Beautiful Illustration - beautiful illustration, printer cable

Not only does this USB 2.0 printer scanner cable work perfectly for my HP printer and Toshiba laptop, the seller, BargainCell, was one of the best sellers I have ever purchased from. The cable came neatly packaged and was brand new just as described. It was also shipped very quickly.

I give the seller extra high marks because when I informed them that my order had encountered a problem (which was not in any way BargainCell's fault) they fixed the problem for me at no additional cost! This is a seller who truly cares about customer service and goes above and beyond their responsibilities. I highly recommend this seller and this product. :) Black 10 ft Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Printer Scanner Cable Type A Male to Type B Male For HP Canon, Lexmark, Epson,

My daughter was going away to college and got a new printer. I needed a USB printer cable but when I looked at Staples, the cost was highway robbery. Searched on amazon and came up with this one. Works great, seems well constructed and saved me a bundle. Now, if I could do the same with tuition....

This cable is $35 at any office supply store... I am so glad that I found this great deal. This cable is great if you need to sit your printer farther away from your desktop than the OEM cable will let you.

I used this cable for my MacBookPro onto my Canon printer and it worked wonders. I was surprised that it worked. I thought it would say error, but it didn't. Also the cable is really long, so it's convenient when I am placing the printer with the desktop.

The item arrived in the described condition by the seller. 10ft cable was actually 10ft and the cable was brand new and not damaged. Great product! BTW it also works as a Casio piano USB Just to let you know.

I ordered this cable to connect my Epson PictureMate to my computer. When I tried to print using the cable, the data cuts off halfway through printing. I hear the sound on my maching indicating I've unplugged the cable, but I haven't. I am ordering a better brand cable to check, but I think the cable is defective! - Usb Cables - Printer Cable - Canon - Beautiful Illustration'

Igloo Parts - wheeled cooler, igloo parts

So you bought that Igloo MaxCold ice chest to keep your beer/meat/hemoglobin cold for those hot days on the boat/range/battlefield? After a couple of years of 4-wheeling through the Sahara, fighting off insurgents in (insert 3rd world country here), and bagging K2, the blasted hinges broke, leaving you to invent all sorts of colorful vocabulary every time you need a beer/steak/medical-grade beer, right? Well, suffer no more! For a few bucks, you can save that investment. These babies even come with new screws so you don't have to show anyone how you tried to take off the last screws with a pair of pliers and a chisel. And after a long, involved 5 minutes of work (including clean-up), you can sit back and enjoy a nice cold brew-ski (to replace the electrolytes you lost during the repair mission) that you plucked out of your cooler with just one hand. Igloo White Hinges for Ice Chests (1-Pair)

Simple, cheap and easy to install. Does the job, however if I had a bigger more expensive cooler that was in better shape I probably would go for the stainless hinges. Oh yeah, it comes with new stainless screws.

Bought these to replace 3 broken hinges from my big Igloo marine cooler. They fit perfectly, and like another reviewer said, they are quiet, unlike the originals. I was happy to find these an Amazon and fix an otherwise good cooler. - Igloo Parts - Coleman - Igloo - Wheeled Cooler'

Emergency Kit - portable grills, roadtrip

This is a great little portable grill - if you don't expect too much! (Too many people write reviews here expecting inexpensive items to be gold plated and nuclear powered). It's not meant to replace a regular full-size grill and shouldn't be compared to one. Use it for car camping or a tailgate party for cooking for two or three people (maybe four but that's pushing it) and just realize it has limitations, though they are easy to work around.

I got it on sale for only $25 so consider it an excellent value. It was simple to put together, no directions required and takes about a minute. My legs stay in well once inserted and come back out with a good tug. There is an included nylon carry-bag which works fine for keeping the parts together (the grille, two legs, gas bottle, pan support and plastic grille cover). It also functions well as a regular single-burner stove when you take the grill off. It feels stable and solid if set on a good surface.

The burner adjusts well from off to low to high and is quick and easy to start by pushing the burner control knob in. The drippings collect well in the pan below the burner. There is a small griddle on one side of the grill that will hold one egg or pancake (or two small ones). The biggest drawback is the heat distribution. Since it uses a small burner in the middle and has no heat distribution baffle; it is much hotter in the center than towards the edge. You get around this by actively moving your burgers around to keep them cooking evenly (this can be an advantage if you want something to cook slower by pushing to the outside). Coleman says you must put water in the catch basin, which seems to distribute the heat a little better but I think that is also to reduce the possibility of a grease fire. I tried it a couple of times without the water and it worked OK.

Overall, it is a good value when used for what it is intended for. I think Coleman could have designed the grill with better heat distribution without significantly adding to the cost, so I give it four stars. Coleman 9940-A55 Roadtrip Party Grill

I camped down at MIS and bought this grill on sale the day before. Not only was it easy to set up once I was down there - it was perfect for me since I was cooking only for one. It was awesome to take the grill top off and be able to perk coffee in the morning and then grill burgers on it later. Definitely fill the basin when grilling, it makes cleanup a snap. The bag makes it super portable and the propane attachment is a breeze to replace. All in all a great deal and super useful.

This is the perfect grill if you are looky for an affordable grill that is dependable and will last for years. I have had my Coleman party grill for 5 years now and it is the perfect grilling companion whether I am tailgating a ball game or camping in the great outdoors. The legs fit inside the grill for storage, and it is extremely easy to clean. I recommend this item to everyone!

This is a great little item when cooking for two people. I have had mine for a year and usually flop a steak on the grill and open a can of beans or corn on the griddle. This last trip I think I found the best way is to use it as a Korean "Hibachi type" Bar-B-Que. Fire it up on the camp table. Pour out your favorite "dipping" sauces. Precut your raw meats (beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, etc.)into bitesize or bigger morsels. The same goes for the veggies. Oil them up a bit if you like or wrap them in foil, add a little water and steam them. Cook several pieces at a time and keep cooking them as you eat them. I found that this technique overcomes the uneven cooking characteristics reported in other reviews and it's fun too! Each piece comes hot off the grill. The way you like it! By the time I eat a whole steak cooked my old method as a single piece, it's cold. Try it.

The thing that attracted me to this one was the dishwasher safe rating. Yes it will go in the dishwasher, but it cooks unevenly, burns the outside of food while the inside is still uncooked. Worst of all I end up fighting with it just to get it turned on. It usually take me 2 minutes of fiddling with it to get it turned on. The knob is terrible. DON'T BUY IT!!

Calling this a grill seems a bit of a misnomer. Essentially, it's a single burner camping stove that comes with a grill grate cover that really acts more like a skillet with holes in it. The flame is very close to the grill grate and propane burns hot. Though the burner flame is adjustable, it is difficult to regulate the heat effectively. It also cooks unevenly, with items in the middle (over the burner jets) cooking very quickly and items on the sides cooking very slowly. Thick cuts of meat or fish are problematic because A) they are too big to move around on the grill top for even cooking and B)the grill has no cover and burns so hot that you will cook the outside of your thicker cuts while the inside will stay cool.

If you are looking for a grill that performs like a miniature backyard gas/propane barbecue, this is not your product. If you want a small, easy to use, single burner for camping/tailgating and plan to use if for boiling, and/or grilling hotdogs and burgers, it serves pretty well.

This is a nice grill to use for parties or for your family! The price is just right and it is just the right size. Not too heavy, not too light! The only thing not good about this is you have to buy the propane canister yourself. That isnt expensive though. Its a nice grill overall!

Probably good for boiling water but you can't cook a steak on this. Gets extremely hot over the center area which is solid with no open grating over the flame area and food sticks and burns. I tried to use only the outer grated section of the grill but anything touching the center just attaches to the solid top and burns. You would do just as well cooking with a blow torch!

The grill top is fairly unstable on its supports to begin with and takes a balancing act to properly center it. The meat sticks and pulls the whole grill top with it when you try to turn it and this alone can be a safety hazard as well.

The only good feature is that its easy to clean the burnt meat off the grill top before returning it. - Roadtrip - Coleman - Camping - Portable Grills'

Planer Blades - dw735, dewalt

These are the standard replacement for blades in the DW735. No surprise then that they work exactly as well as the originals. Which means that when they are sharp they work quite well. And when they are not you can reverse them. When that side is exhausted you can replace them.

I find that about 200 board feet of 5/4 by 8" hard maple is where the blades start to show wear - a dining room table's worth in realtime terms. Nicks can be suppressed by adjusting the blades laterally so that one blade removes the fault one of the others creates. To be honest, given the price of these strips of metal, I would like them to either last longer or be sharpenable. Although the prospect of sharpening 13" cutting edges does not thrill me.

What I would like to see is someone to start making aftermarket blades, carbide if possible. These are just pricey enough that I would be willing to pay just a bit more to get a few hundred more board feet out of a set. Lacking that, this is our only choice, and it is the single biggest flaw in the DW735 planer design. DEWALT DW7352 Replaceable Knives for DW735 13 Inch Planer

Yes, like toner cartridges, these blades don't last long and forever need replacing. For that reason I sold my DW735 and switched back to a DW733...I could not afford the blade habit! If you use exotics, or simply use your planer a lot, I would not recommend the DW735, as they obviously switched to non-sharpenable blades in order to hook you on their VERY overpriced replacements. If you get 3-400 BF out of a set, consider yourself lucky!

I purchased my DW735 as a quicky (read: impulsive) replacement for a Jet JWP12 that died in the middle of a job. (The poly belt broke.) Uncharacteristically, I didn't research the tool before buying. I should have. Although the planer is satisfactory, the knives are not. I planed about 80 lineal feet (yes, JUST 80 feet!) of antique white oak 1x6s before suddenly finding the blades too dull for the feed rollers to overcome the resistance. This occurred suddenly...within the span of three boards! Going along just fine in the "dimensioning" mode when the feed became slower and slower until finally, the boards quit feeding. The dull knives offered too much resistance. I cleaned the feed rollers with acetone, thinking there was contamination causing them to lose friction. This helped for one board, then the feeding stopped again. These boards were salvaged church kneelers from 1900. I had rough planed them of old varnish and grit to clean wood with a DW675 power hand planer and then ran them through the DW735 to true and thickness to 3/4". Surprised and annoyed, I flipped the knives and continued with the project. I surfaced another 50 linear feet without incident. A few days later, I start another job that required surface planing some 2x10 Select structural Doug fir. These were new clean planks. I managed to surface two sides of one plank before the feed stopped again. Cleaning the rollers had no effect. The blades were SHOT! I tried just a very shallow pass (the material removal gauge didn't even register that material would be removed, but failed halfway through when the planer kicked out a 20 amp dedicated breaker. Cranked up the planer head and removed the plank. The resultant stopped cut was barely perceptible, perhaps less than 1/64th of an inch. Hardly a heavy cut! I've seen some snipe that was greater. So, now I've got two planers and both down! I've ordered replacement knives, but what a PITA. The knives on the Jet were three years since replacement with a huge amount of varied lumber under their belt and although not sharp, still managed to bull through some 2x10s without complaint. I've found some aftermarket knives for the DW735 online at Infinity Cutting [...]. Apparently not laminated or reversible, but anything is better than the stock knives!

We have been pleased with the DW735 Planer, it works well for our needs. The knives are the weak point in the system. They seem to wear quickly. This could be due to the abrasive nature of the particular wood (Makore) we are milling at this time. I think DeWalt does a good job overall but could do better with the knives.

The DW735 is a very expensive planer. For LESS MONEY, one can purchase a planer that has good blades that can be resharpened, and for which blades are available on a secondary market - including carbide. Not with this machine!

Other reviewers have pointed to the problem - these blades are disposable, expensive, and can't be sharpened, and they are the heart of the system. Go look elswhere before you consider buying one of these. If you are even considering planing hardwood, look for a machine that has secondary market knives, preferably carbide, and don't waste your time on stuff like the blades supplied with the DW 735 that probably won't last more than a few hours (or minutes)into the job. When planing hard maple, I had tear-out almost with the first pass, and never recovered from it.

Just to make my point, when I went to "reverse" the blades on my machine, the "new" edge wouldn't even put a crease in my fingernail let alone cut paper. If even a new edge won't cut, no wonder tear-out is a problem.

Don't bother with this one. Look for replaceable knives, preferably on a secondary market by a manufacturer who cares.

When it was time to get a planer, I knew I had to get a portable. I do some remodel work and wanted something that could come with me when my shop was too far away. For a portable, the planer can't be beat. It is heavy (which is great when you're feeding stock) and it ejects chips like nothing else. The issue of course is the pesky blades, and therein lies the trade-off.

I don't do enough milling to mind having to shift, reverse, and replace blades every 6-12 months. I tend to work mostly with hard maple, rough-sawn white oak, and fir. I've found that the 200 bf number is probably about right if you're looking for what some consider a "finished" surface. I've had more problems with the blades getting nicks before they get dull. My stock looks clean, but I've resorted to milling up a lot of stock with the first pass through an old set of knives and a finish pass with a new set. For this reason, I think it would be really frustrating to someone who does a lot of volume. For me, it just isn't an issue.

Now that Infinity Tools has released replacement blades (HSSK-041) here on Amazon for <$10 more (price as of 1/2008) that CAN BE RE-SHARPENED, I'll be trying those next.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd still go with this planer. - Planer Knives - Dewalt - Dw735 - Knife'

Wireless N Router - belkin, 80211n

The Belkin wireless N+ router is the third wireless router I have purchased over the last five years. I have a three story house and the router is located on the first floor. The earlier routers did not cover the entire house and I had to use a wireless repeater. More importantly, these earlier routers were always having to be reset, sometimes on a daily basis. This new Belkin router has taken care of both problems. It gives a substantially stronger signal and I do not need the repeater any longer. More importantly, is has been absolutely reliable. I have not had any problems since plugging it in a month ago. Set up was a breeze. I am one totally-happy camper! Belkin Wireless N+ 802.11n Router (Black)

I have had this router for two months, using a mixed Mac and PC environment, all with wireless N cards.

The router has phenomenal range and throughput. I am getting 5 bars in locations around my house where my previous router (D Link G router) would not give a signal at all. The speeds are also amazing. Using Comcast's Blast service in the SF Bay Area, I am regularly able to attain 20 Mbs speeds over wireless and 30 over wired connections. I have a small USB hard drive connected to the router, but really haven't played with it long enough to evaluate it's network storage speeds. The hard drive is recognized by the PC but not by the Macs.

The main drawback to this device is that it frequently drops the internet connection with the cable modem (an RCA Thompson model). I know the internet is still active on the Comcast end of things because my Comcast Digital Voice service is not affected, only my internet. Strangely, when this happens, it is also nearly impossible to connect to the router via the web page address (192.168.2.1). I expect that this is a firmware issue and have been waiting for updates, but no such luck yet.

Also, the router has a Guest Access mode which allows others to surf the internet but does not grant them network access.

Overall, great range and speed if you can tolerate the occasional need to reboot the router.

Surprisingly, there are not many highly rated wireless routers out there to pick from. It seems like the best ones only get about 3-star reviews. I am upgrading from a Linksys wireless-g router that is a few years old, and wanted to make sure whatever "n" router I purchased it would be worth the money, and shows an improvement in functionality.

We'll, this router delivers. I'll try to briefly bullet the reasons why:

* Set up was very easy using the provided CD/tutorial. Took about 20 minutes total.

* After 4 days of use, no dropped signals or functionality issues at all.

* Ability to hold a flash drive (plugs right into the back of the router) that can be accessed by other computers is very convenient. Now, when I use my work laptop at home I can access or transfer files to the house laptop easily.

* LED screen on the router is easy to read and shows you what is or isn't working.

* I am now running internet speeds significantly faster on "n" versus "g". You'll see a big difference with this.

* I am getting much stronger signals all over the house versus my Linksys router

* Amazon's price of $87 makes it worth the price.

I highly recommend it to all.

UPDATED 12/13

What does my title mean?

I was running a wireless G home network with a Linksys router (in fact, I have a review on that router!). I was happy with my setup but I wanted to upgrade to wireless N and maximize the throughput on my devices. For the record I have:

- Personal laptop

- Work laptop

- Nintendo Wii

- Xbox 360

- PS3

- DirecTV HR20

- Sony PSP

- Nintendo DS

- Dell media server

Running on my home network. Of those devices, the 360, HR20 and media server are connected via Ethernet. I'd researched the viability of going to a Gigabit network. For those that aren't aware, basic Ethernet is capable of a maximum of 100Mbps throughput. You can imagine that might be a bit of a problem when you're streaming HD movies across your server. I also noticed a significant performance impact when attempting to use my internet connection at the same time as browsing my local network, probably due to the fact that it's not a dual band router. But it was severely annoying to me and I decided to go shopping.

I noticed this router down at BBuy, for just shy of $120. It seemed quite a bit for a router (I'm used to paying no more than half of that amount), but I noticed all of the features of the router and everything clicked into place. The router is more than a router; it's actually a hub for just about everything you can imagine. There are some notable things missing, and it does have some issues, but it's easily one of the best routers I've used in recent history (and I have used quite a few of different brands).

This Belkin supports a variety of protocols which I'll go into momentarily. I want to first focus on the negatives of the device, as I think specific negatives will end up being dealbreakers for some - so I want to expose those first, and if none of them are that critical to you, then it's just a matter of cost benefits.

The first negative is the most basic. The web interface is quite wonky, sometimes not responding to browser requests, sometimes loading a little strange (as in text all over the page), sometimes loading but looking like it's not, etc. It's just unpredictable and quite honestly I was ready to take it back due to its behavior. I stuck it out and figured out what it's problem is...I'll get to it in a later negative as it's really a separate issue. As to the page itself, there are a lot of utilities presented, most very useful, but there are also utilities that are not present that I felt should have been..not really the page's fault, and I'll get to those later.

The next negative may be a nitpick. The Linksys routers allow you to not only view DHCP clients, but also boot specific ones off or even block them at a MAC address level. The Belkin can block (or allow) MAC addresses, but once a DHCP client is connected, you can't just "delete" it from the list and kick it out. You can Deny it, but if an IP was already leased, it's stuck until the client disconnects or the router is rebooted, which may present a security issue.

There is also what I would consider a glaring issue, and it may be fixable via firmware update (which isn't yet available). The router functions in dual mode, local and WAN, so you can have internet and local network running concurrently. The problem is, you can't navigate the LAN or the router's admin page without both being active. So for example, let's say I had no network and just wanted to use this for local network connections. You have to force the router to act as an access point - but of course, that disabled the ability to use WAN as an option until it's changed back to the default. I hate to sound like a broken record, but the Linksys allowed you to still navigate the web page and use LAN resources regardless of the presence of a WAN connection. The real issue comes with configuration: I need to connect to the Belkin router and configure it before I can give it internet signal, else it will be unsecure. Can't do that if the router won't let me connect to its admin page!

Next issue is more of an annoyance. When you make changes to router settings (any router), the router generally needs to restart itself in order to make the changes effective. I'm not sure if it's the router or if it's Vista, but I never had this problem with the Linksys, so I make the assumption the Belkin is at fault somewhere...when you make such changes, and then restart the router, you'll get local connectivity back but not WAN. You have to manually repair your connection to get it to pull an IP again. I'm not sure why this happens, because again, I've never had to do that. If I didn't know better I'd swear the router was "taking too long" to talk to my computer. Of course, since you can't access WAN during this time, you also can't access the admin page to verify everything was set, nor can you access other computers on your network to see if they are working successfully. Great.

Last but certainly not least, while it's nice that this has a USB port for connecting USB drives, I was really disappointed that a faster technology (like Firewire 800 or eSATA) was not represented. I mean this is a Gigiabit router with Wireless N yet it's using an archaic technology for the drive sharing. I guess it's for more widespread compatibility, but it's still a downer.

OK! The bad stuff is behind us. Let's get to the features and the good stuff.

As mentioned this is a Gigabit router. This applies to the Ethernet ports on the back of the device. It effectively maximizes throughput, yes...but you need to make sure that the computer is equipped with a Gigabit adapter. The standard Ethernet adapter will only max out at 100Mbps. Communications seem a lot more efficient even with standard Ethernet, but you're still not getting the most out of the connection. You can find a Netgear or other Gigabit adapter at your local store for less than $50. Once connected the router and card know to send the maximum stream through, so you should not have to do any configuration besides plugging it in and getting drivers updated.

The router supports four Ethernet devices maximum. These can be standard Ethernet, Gigabit or a combination thereof. It also supports Wireless B, G, and N...so if you have a newer laptop that supports Wireless N but other devices that use older wireless technology, you can use all of them concurrently and should not experience too much of a problem. There have been scattered reports of the Sony PSP not playing nice with the multi-spectrum setting. I have not yet tried it on mine, but I imagine it will not work because the PSP does not support WPA2 (more on that later) which I am using. Doesn't matter, as I can always get updates manually and load them on the PSP with my computer. So far the PSP is the only device I have not yet tested. All others have sync'd up to the Belkin with minimal incident.

Unique to this router is the dual-encryption. With WPA2 you can configure a key that is then authenticated with both AES and TKIP. This means that devices that support only one or the other under WPA2 can still use the same key, without compromising your network selecting a lesser encryption algorithm. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this feature. The Wii supports AES while the PS3 supports TKIP, etc. It's nigh to infuriating, and I'm glad that this router has implemented this technology so that I don't have to deal with it.

Also unique to this router is a feature that I was on the hunt for and was told would be on expensive, high end routers: Guest Wi-Fi. Got friends who come over with their laptops? Want them to have access to your internet, but don't want them touching your local network resources? Setting up Guest Wi-Fi allows you to do it. You can even configure it like the hotels with an interstitial page that will prompt the user to enter credentials before getting access. I was very pleased that this feature was included, because on occasion I may need to give a friend access to my internet but don't want them to have access to my files. Unfortunately, you can't set caps on bandwidth utilization, either per guest or even globally for the guest account. I would have liked that, so that I can pre-allocate only a fraction of my total bandwidth to prevent "bandwidth hogging" when someone's at my place. Not a big deal, just something I would like to see in future firmware.

You can also connect a USB hard drive and access its files via a shared drive in Windows underneath the router. This is a nice feature if you just need access to the files, but USB is such a slow standard in comparison to the other standards present on the router that it's almost frustrating trying to navigate the drive's contents. There is a noticable delay when trying to access files that isn't there when the drive is connected to your computer directly, and you know it's not the router, but the delay between the slowness of USB and the speed of Wireless N and/or Gigabit, so there's nothing you can do about it. Still, it helps when you're trying to migrate files on or off of a USB drive to one of your other workstations, or use a USB drive as a central hub for file storage.

One other feature that is on other routers, but not implemented nearly as well versus the Belkin, is the ability to reserve IPs for specific MAC addresses. This way, even if the IP is dynamically assigned, you can reserve it specifically for that device's future use, so you don't run into IP conflicts on your network. As mentioned, other routers let you do this as well, but not nearly as easily. On the Belkin, you simply click the "Reserve" button next to the device, and click Apply. Two clicks and you're done, whether others have signicantly more steps to do the same function.

The router does come with a software CD which isn't necessary, but does speed up the set up process. You caninstall without it, but be prepared to dedicate a few hours to the cause if you choose to do so. My setup, all told, took about 6 total hours from beginning to end. Compared to the roughly 45 minutes it takes to set up the Linksys router, this disappointed me, but it wasn't the features or anything...rather, the issue with the web admin page that I mentioned earlier that caused the majority of the problem. You should probably consider just using the CD if you don't want to be bothered with it, because if you have a somewhat complex local network, you will get frustrated...guaranteed.

Don't let what I mentioned deter you, though. This is still a great router for the price, quite powerful and comparable to those you might find in companies. But it's not for beginners. If you're not sure what you're doing, find an expert. If you do know what you're doing, this is one of the best there is.

UPDATE: I believe I may have found an inherent defect in the security. I was able to replicate the issue twice, and I'm going to research to see if it's a known issue.

When setting the security settings on the router, there is an option to set the encryption method and key. For the key you can tell the router to obscure the PSK as you're typing it. Apparently, if you do this and submit the page, it clears the password and the encryption setting, allowing unsecured connections! This is an issue...a big issue. I only identified it when my laptop stopped connecting to the router and I was resetting everything to get back up and running (rebooting fixed the underlying problem), and was going to change the password anyway. Just be forewarned that this might be a glitch that they need to fix; not sure yet. I might even put up a video review about it. - Wireless N - 80211n - Belkin - Router'

Netbook - external dvd burner, external dvd drive

Google Keywords: windvd provided missing serial number new install toshiba slim USB SuperMulti DVD+R(w)

For everyone who cannot find the proper serial number, I feel your pain. I just spent a short amount of time looking for the solution and finally decided to check the disk. In VERY SMALL FONT on the right side of the disk you will see a WINDVD Serial Number, about 16-20 characters long. I have to say however that Toshiba did a bang up job putting the S/N on the disk which must be in the drive when you are trying to install it. Just remember to push the disk back in after you enter the number and before you hit >Next.

Hope this helps everyone involved. Please try and pass the word to any other sites you've posted your question to. Toshiba PA3761U-1DV2 Portable/Slim USB SuperMulti DVD-Writer

Hardware-wise the Toshiba USB DVD drive is just great. Just plug it in, and you'll be able to read CDs so you can install software to your Toshiba Netbook, for example, which is the main reason I needed to get a USB external drive. But if you want to play movies from DVD disks with your netbook, you'll need a decoder, and Toshiba has supplied WinDVD, which in my hands did NOT work. It installs, sort of; and it works, sort of; but it won't play a movie. You'll get various "protected media" messages; or it just won't find the title; or whatever; it's pathetic. So spend fifteen more bucks and order CyberLink PowerDVD SE. It's a little hard to find on the [...] website; they try to sell you a more expensive product, but the fifteen dollar version is all you need if you are running XP as I am. (I was aware that WinDVD had problems as suppied with the Toshiba external USB DVD drive, but I bought it anyway; perhaps this email will save everybody else the headache of trying to find out this fixit from ... from what, Customer Support? I don't think so; whoever publishes WinDVD [Corel?] is NOT going to recommend that you fix your problem by sending fifteen bucks to some other software outfit :--)))

I plugged it in and got it going. It didn't ask for a serial number. And the Quick Start guide shows only attaching one USB to the laptop, not two. Perhaps, they've corrected those issues. I simply clicked on each listed item I wanted to download and it did it. I played a DVD to test it out and it played very well. However, I have not tried burning a CD as yet. I have a new laptop with Windows 7.

UPDATE: I needed to enter the serial number for a one year old netbook (XP based).

was unable to easily spot the SN on the drive - toshiba support forum provide generic key MWK6IYJDHJS20HJ to use to install the WinDVD software included and this worked. Beware - the support forum used an "old" zero - had to change to a "new" zero (used above) to make work. Everything else about the drive is working fine.

I bought this as an add on for an Acer netbook I have, and am quite pleased. I have media saved to DVD,and this product works like a charm. The piano black finish is a fingerprint magnet ( I would prefer a matte finish..), but it is quite attractive. Easily fits in a case, when you want to take it with you on the road.

I have used it to burn photos from a party to give to guests, watch movies on a plane, and copied a file or two. Netbooks being what they are , and intended to do, are sometimes limited. I think this is nice to have, you might not use it everyday, but it sure does come in handy.

It gets the job done, quickly -everything is quite intuitive, very little learning curve.

I love the small size, and Toshiba is a top brand.

I would not hesitate to suggest this as an add on to a netbook- great gift!

Just bought this today at Best Buy ($70.00). Got home and simply plugged it into my laptop and works like a charm. Primary reason for buying this DVD burner is that the BLURAY drive that came with my laptop does not support CD+G discs.

Purchased locally @BestBuy ($70) to use with new Acer Aspire 1 Netbook (from WOOT). Installation required S/N to install WinDVD and would not accept S/N on disk and still unable to load (waiting on Toshiba). Writes software to the Netbook just fine and plays music CDs fine, just need to get the burner installed. Drive only requires use of one leg of Y USB cable.

Thanks so much to the prior reviewer with the information about where the WINDVD serial number was located. It worked perfectly for me on my Toshiba netbook, and have watched several DVDs effortlessly. Definitely recommended. - External Dvd Burner - Compact Dvd Drive - External Dvd Drive - Dvd Burner'

Plastic Folders

These are well made folders but you should be aware that the plastic colors are not the usual light pastels but a very deep primary colors, so especially with the darker colors it is hard to see the contents of the folder. Otherwise great. C-Line Colored Project Folders, 8.5 x 11 Inches, Assorted Colors, 25 per Box (62130)

They arrived quickly, but there wasn't 25 per box--one box seemed pretty old. The ones we got where fine, did the job--cheap enough that we didn't bother quabbling over the missing few. Would I buy again probably not.'

Educational - educational, games

I have 4 boys, my oldest is 7 (1st grade), 3 of them can play this game in some form. They love to shake the numbers out. My oldest plays the traditional way, in making math problems. My preschooler tries to find matching numbers and sequences, and my other preschooler tries to identify the numbers. It is such a simple game that you can make up your own way to use it and play it. Head Full of Numbers Math Game

I bought this for my 8 year old son. He is in 2nd grade and loves to play this game. His younger brothers and sisters like to join in also, even though they cant really play by the rules. comes with plenty of game sheets. Great game.

My 6 year old often complains about his math homework, so I took a chance on this game, hoping that it would be a way for him to see that doing math can be fun too. He enjoys this game so much, he doesn't even realize that he's doing math! Fun and educational! Great game!

I bought this game to add to our math lessons. My boys 8 and 11 enjoy playing the game. My only issues is the durability in the dice holder. The holder is not crucial to the game, but I do not foresee it lasting very long. - Fun Read - Educational - Games - Kids'

Adapted From Books - movie, adapted from books

When all is said and done - when the eye candy special effects of Quidditch matches and fantastical creatures has been superseded by advances in technology in Hollywood blockbusters yet to come - it is the little moments that this viewer and his wife will return to.

When a friend one time bemoaned the fact that `Half-Blood Prince' gets bogged down in pointless hormonal teen-angst instead of getting on with the story, I smiled... and shook my head.

No, I said, that IS the story and it's what I love about the Harry Potter series: it never loses track of the characters. It never forgets that, when viewed as a whole, these eight movies are a story of growing up, of the transition from childhood to adulthood. Of love and friendship and death. Because without those little funny and touching moments between the characters - if all you want is for the movies to rush from one plot element to another - then all you're left with is plot... and no story. Remember: plot is what happens TO the characters; story is what happens AS A RESULT of the characters.

That's the real gorgeous beauty of these movies, and it's what will bring viewers back repeatedly to their DVD shelves. As Frodo said to Sam in `The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers': "What are we fighting for Sam?" "That's there's still some good in this world," Sam replies, "and that it's worth fighting for."

That's why you need those little indulgent moments, because without them it's just razzle-dazzle special effects and set-pieces. Harry and Ginny's first kiss: they're in the Room of Requirement and Ginny tells Harry to close his eyes while she hides Professor Snape's copy of Advanced Potion Making. And before Harry opens his eyes Ginny leans forward, kisses him and whispers, "That can stay hidden up here too, if you like." That, my fellow Muggles, is pure movie gold. That's what the characters are fighting for. Love. Yes, the PLOT concerns itself with good triumphing over evil, but that only comes to pass as a result of the STORY which is about friendship. Because that is something worth fighting for.

It's why the film adaptation of Philip Pullman's astonishing trilogy, `His Dark Materials', is an utter failure: `The Golden Compass' movie rushes from one plot element to another: and THEN we go here, and THEN we go there. Never slowing down to allow the characters TO BE characters. What are they fighting for? Well, nothing the viewer could care less about...

Ultimately, all of this success comes about because of the brilliant way in which the author J.K. Rowling has constructed her seven-volume storyline. See, `The Chronicles of Narnia' are good - very good - but in the end don't quite fully succeed, and this is because the author, C.S. Lewis, had never envisioned them as a series: `The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' was originally intended by the writer to be a one off. As thoroughly enjoyable as the three Narnia movies are, there is no through-story like Rowling's Harry-Voldermort. Indeed, over the course of the three Narnia movies even some of the Pevensie children themselves become side characters. And although that was entirely the point - part of the plot - in the end it harms the story. It dilutes what the characters are fighting for. It weakens its forcus.

Look at the Harry Potter series: viewed in hindsight it's not just the story of teenage friendships, for it also presents an astounding portrayal of one man coming to be viewed in the end entirely differently by the viewer. Professor Snape. What an astonishing character arc - and yet Rowling had it all there, right from the beginning: Snape using a counter-curse against Professor Quirrell to save Harry during the first movie's Quidditch match. Wait, isn't Snape the bad guy?! We're made to wonder, right from that first movie all the way through to the revelations of the eighth. `Narnia' has nothing on that. It's clear that Rowling has thought her seven-volume story through like a military operation: the first four books may have come out only a year apart, but the author had begun planning them seven years before the first one was ever published.

And the friendships, that's all there too. Look at the Ron-Hermione moments seeded throughout the entire movie series. Harry and Hermione are just good friends, thus all the unself-conscious hugs she gives him. Yet there is a physical tension - a conscious awareness of each other - between her and Ron. At the end of `Chamber of Secrets' Hermione flings her arms around Harry... but, both of them equally awkward and embarrassed, Ron and Hermione only shake hands. In `Prisoner of Askaban' during Hagrid's first lesson with Harry cautiously approaching Buckbeak, Herminone grabs Ron's hand, before quickly letting go, both of them looking around uncomfortably. All, finally, converging in Hermione's emotional outburst at the end of the Yule Ball in `Goblet of Fire' where (like a soul crying out `Look at me!') she says, "Next time there's a Ball, pluck up the courage to ask me before somebody else does - and not as a last resort!" And in another moment of movie gold, Harry and Hermione comforting each other on the steps in Hogwarts, unable to be with the one they want. "How does it feel, Harry, when you see Dean with Ginny?" After Hermione sends her bird charms crashing into the wall beside Ron and Ron flees, Harry replies, "It feels like this."

It's why `Half-Blood Prince' is one of my favourite instalments: not only is it the calm before the storm of the seventh and eighth movies but it allows the characters' friendships to come to fruition. `Half-Blood Prince' does not become sidetracked, far from it. You need that, because that is the story. It's what I love about it: yes, they're wizards and witches but the film makers never lose sight of the fact that they're also young adults going through the most important transitional period of their lives. These movies aren't about fantastical magical events inconveniently interrupted by mushy teenage moments. Instead they're precisely all about those ordinary, everyday teenage moments, played against the backdrop of incredible events. Those amazing events only occur at all because of who the characters are; it's only natural that the plot should play second to the story of their lives. Because they are what truly matters. Because they, as Sam would put it, "Are worth fighting for."

As if that wasn't enough, as if the story of Harry-Ron-Hermione (and, indeed, Snape) isn't in itself reason enough to revisit this whole series, Rowling has also given us an amazing supporting cast of characters. All too often in a series, all the characters outwith the main group rarely hold a reader's/viewer's attention for long. And yet Rowling has created not one single boring character, and what an amazing supporting cast they are: the Dursley, the Weasleys, the Malfoys, Hagrid, Dobby, Sirius, Bellatrix, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, and on and on. In fact, one of Rowling's most inspired moves, and certainly a wonderful way of keeping things fresh, was to continuously have a new colourful character each year as the Professor of the Dark Arts. Glideroy Lockhart, Remus Lupin, Mad-Eye Moody, Dolores Umbridge. Not to forget the delightful potions master from `Half-Blood Prince', Horace Slughorn, or the Professor of Divination, Trelawney. Then, too, you have the caretaker Argus Filch, the ghost Nearly Headless Nick. Well, you get the idea. Quidditch, the Ministry of Magic, the Dementors. The richness of the world Rowling has created is so rewarding that I can't ever imagine tiring of it.

Watching these characters - and, indeed, the actors - grow up before us is fascinating. I love the fact the first two movies are kids movies; there's no hint, really, of what lies ahead. Until, of course, you get to `Prisoner of Askaban'. Even the naysayer film critics sat up at that one and said, "Hey, hold on a minute..." From the fifth film onwards these were no longer merely kids' movies. It's what accounts for their immensely broad appeal: children will watch them for the action and special effects, teenagers and adults for the humour and the series' growing depth. Even the opening titles change as the story darkens: from bright gold in the first few movies to chipped and crumbling grey stone.

Viewed as one 1100+ minute über-movie the achievement is nothing short of remarkable.

Thank you, Rowling.

And thank you Warner Bros and the cast and crew for the ten-year visual journey of these marvellous books that you have taken my wife and I on. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) - Adapted From Books - Movie - Blu-ray'

Cat Pendant - cats

If you're a cat-lover like me--or if you just like whimsical pieces of jewelry--this kitty's for you! I laugh every time I look at it--this cat is hanging on for dear life! It's a nice, solid piece of silver (good weight to it!) and even the face is so expressive. You can slide it onto almost any sterling chain you have and I promise you, people will be stopping you to admire it (and enjoy a good laugh with you)! Beautifully crafted, this is not only fun to wear, it's also a little piece of sculpture you can wear and enjoy for years to come. Adorable!!! Sterling Silver Cat Pendant

Absolutely love this piece! I get many compliments on it as well. It is exactly as it appears and in my opinion is the perfect size. I did change out the chain for a silk cord which I think looks better. - Cats'

Plastic instead of ceramic porcelin? from Kohler? I would have thought this company would have made a better product.

I ordered this faucet and the matching sink faucet and the cute white old fashioned button is actually white plastic. sending back asap. hope i can find a replacement before the plumber arrives to install. this product should at least state that it's plastic, so that the buyer doesn't waste return shipping money or their time. very disappointed. Cherokee Scrubs - cherokee, scrub sets

these scrub pants are described perfectly but they fit large. i ordered mediums and could have used smalls. they also are very long. at least a 34 inch inseam which may work for men, but i will need to hem. Scrubs - Authentic Cherokee Workwear Unisex Scrub Pant (Black, M)

We had been searching for scrubs long enough for my husband (6ft 2in) and were happy to find this company that sells them for a reasonable price. We are pleased with the quality and shipping time was excellent!

I bought two medium white pairs. They are extremely long for me, but they can be hemmed. Other than the length, the fit is great and they are nice quality. They have two pockets on the right thigh which are handy for carrying medical paraphernalia. I am pleased with this purchase.

They're perfect! Tons of pockets; long enough for me (and @ 6' tall this has only been matched by one other brand) and adjustable drawstring for those of us who are thin.

That having been said I should clarify; perfect for me & that is hard to come by!

The scrub pants came a couple of days before the scheduled delivery and were exactly as described and even better quality of material and construction, my last pairs lasted for seven years of daily wearing/weekly washings before becoming a little threadbare in spots. These new pants fit perfectly and feel much more substantial than my previous pairs, but still not heavy or inflexible.

Our hospital changed our scrub colors on us and I was in desperate need of new pants anyway. I bought these because they came in larger sizes and were cheap (compared to what I could find locally). I ordered the same size as I did in Dickies brand. The result was a pair of pants that come up to my bra line and I still walk on. I could have probably gone down two sizes and had them fit. As is, I will be ordering one size down in the future (since a little extra room is good). These are VERY long, which is great for men, but I will be hemming all of my new pairs (or walking on them if I'm too lazy).

In short, order one size down than you really need and you should be ok. Quality is great and there are a million pockets which are handy if you actually work in the medical field.

These scrubs were a great deal, but the pants don't fit as described in the sizing chart. No fault of the seller, just the way it is. I usually wear a 12-13 pant and ordered the medium, however they are very big around the wast. Keep that in mind when you order :) Overall great quality! - Cherokee - Scrub Sets - Medical Uniforms - Scrub Set'
