Adam Lambert - kindle 3 cover, m-edge

Amazon seems to take forever to ship this case compared to other cases.

This case is sturdy, it's made of some type of canvas material and has enough padding to protect the kindle. The inside is lined with some type of microfleece material so your screen wouldn't get scratched.

After having the kindle without a jacket, I've realized that i like reading it naked but after holding it up in this case, i could go either way. it's lightweight although you'll still notice a slight difference in weight when reading in this compared to holding the kindle by itself.

I like that it zips around to give complete protection from dust and other particulates that could slip in.

I folded the cover round the back easily and was able to zip it. however, you have to keep adjusting the zipper once you convert it back to the normal way. I still like that you can fold around and zip it because it allows me to hold the kindle with one hand and read.

The power cord and AC adaptor fit into the pouch in front without any issues and i was able to zip it without any problems. it does bulge but it bulges a little outward and none towards the inside where the kindle is at. I didn't like reading with the cord and AC adaptor in because i feel it adds a little amount of weight (it might not be noticeable to you). I think it's definately good for transporting those cords.

There's some type of pocket at the back where the m-edge illuminator light can fit. it has another slot underneath that. maybe you can slip a business card or a note card there or perhaps a car key.

Zipping is a tad tight around the corners but it's not a pain.

The only thing i have some issues with is that the fastener at the top left corner feels loose but then i've given my kindle the shaking test where i held it over my bed and shook it up and down once and it slid out of the top left corner. That fastener right there feels loose so i think i'll have to exchange it.

I got this because while i love to read my kindle naked, but there are times and places where i want to read it in a case and i don't want a cover that permanently attaches to the kindle. I wanted something versatile so i could go back and forth as i please. This case seems to fit the bill. If you need a strong and sturdy case for transporting your kindle, this is it. if you get one where you don't have a defective fastener at the top left corner, then you're in good shape. I believe one of the previous two reviewers had the same issue with his case. It may be a manufacturing defect, i don't know. Don't let that deter you from buying this. I'll update when amazon sends the replacement. Hopefully, the left corner for that one fits well.

Did i say the navy is a lovely blue color?!

Peace. M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket, Navy Blue (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

After not being able to get this product shipped to Aussie with Amazon , I purchased this jacket from the people at M-Edge where service was brilliant.

The cover feels so nice, not bulky at all.

I love the idea of being able to zip it up and put it in my handbag without getting it scratched.

The zips are excellent quality and move very freely.

It holds my K3 very securely, is made of excellent quality materials and is an overall superb product.

I have given it 5 stars as i just cannot find a negative about it.

I had this for my Nook and now I have it for my 2 Kindle's (3rd generation). The first one i got was perfect. The 2nd one (for my 2nd Kindle) had a problem securing the Kindle in the top left corner. M-Edge's brilliant customer service replaced it immediately and the new one is great. I think they should use the same fasteners at the top as they use on the bottom, not sure why they don't as they feel more secure, but it's still the best Kindle case out there. I love it and would 100% recommend it.

As soon as I found this cover available for preorder on amazon, I ordered it. It arrived yesterday and I'm delighted with it. I have the M-Edge Latitude cover for my Kindle 2, and was disappointed not to find it available when I ordered my Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation.

I bought a nice plum colored carrying case instead, and didn't regret it. That case protected my Kindle from being dirtied (or worse) by spilled food at a cookout. But that kind of case has a serious drawback for me. Because I have to remove the Kindle from it in order to read, I have two things to keep track of: the Kindle and the case.

Part of the genius of this M-Edge Latitude Kindle jacket, is that it stays attached to the Kindle at all times. I just flip it open to use the Kindle, then flip the front cover back into place and zip it closed when I'm done. There's nothing separate to slide off my lap while I'm reading, or to be placed somewhere else while the Kindle's in use. And then located again when I'm done. (If I'm reading at home, chances are I'll finish a Kindle session in a different room from where I started it, meaning I have to go fetch the case from wherever I was when I took the Kindle out of it.)

The newest generation Kindle is the first one (I've also owned the K1 and the K2) that I don't mind reading when it's not fastened into a cover. It's small and light enough, and the back is grippable enough, that I don't fear it slipping out of my grasp. After spending a few weeks reading my new Kindle that way, I wasn't sure how I'd like going back to using it in a jacket. But this jacket is lightweight and snug-fitting, and doesn't get in the way. I'm adjusting to it just fine.

The other very important aspect of this Kindle jacket, is the all-around protection it provides when closed. I can slip my Kindle, in this jacket, into a purse or tote bag with no fear that some stray object might slip into the case through an open edge, and damage the Kindle.

The K2 version of the M-Edge Latitude was a perfect solution for carrying and using my Kindle 2. I'm equally pleased with the new M-Edge Latitude for my third-generation Kindle. - Kindle 3 Cover - Kindle Covers - M-edge - Kindle Accessory'

Upconverting Dvd Player - netflix, streaming

I am a hardcore geek and have also worked in the streaming video industry the past 4 years. So you may be surprised to hear that this is the first BD player I ever own. I've tested plenty of BD, DVD, streaming boxes, so I know all their strengths and weaknesses.

I waited till now because the early generation of BD players are underpowered (that's why people complained about slow startup, slow to load BD, sluggish menu/UI, etc.). Knowing the performance of that generation, plus having tested the up-n-coming ones, I waited for something that is worth spending money on.

I almost bought the LG BD-390, but that was still too expensive. So I waited for the next gen after, which is the LG BD-5XX series. Since I have wired ethernet to where my entertainment console is, I pick the BD-550. For streaming video, I never want wireless (attested by people commenting on quality, stutters, delays and re-buffering). If I absolutely had to go wireless, I would use 802.11N (not G) and one that supports the 5Ghz band. But that is another topic.

The 550 does everything I need and want. Fast CPU, boot up less than 10s, load BD in about same amount of time (except for a few that has BD-Live and more complicated content). Btw, to use BD-Live, you will need to plug in a USB flash stick (I use a 4GB USB flash, one of those tiny one. Make sure it is formatted as FAT or FAT32.).

Netflix - good UI, fast (I have 25Mb down/10Mb up). So no problem streaming HD. Netflix requires 3.6Mb down for HD. Nice thing about Netflix is that it dynamically adjust quality so you can actually watch the movie. That does mean you won't always get HD if your internet connection is not reliable, e.g. you are using wireless (see why I stick with wired?) Also love the 550 ability to let me view Netflix movie menu and add movies direct on the player (you don't need to go to a computer to add movies to your Instant Queue! This is an awesome feature on the LG BD!

VUDU - good UI, sluggish, there is a lag between pressing buttons and getting results. I kept overshooting or getting wrong choice because of this. Different selection of movies, cost more if I watch a lot of movies (pay each time). So depending on your watching pattern, could be expensive.

Pandora - good, although I don't want to turn on my TV just to listen to music. That's what my stereo is for.

Youtube - good, fun for times when you have parties. Pain having to enter URL via the remote. Wish I can connect a real USB keyboard and use that.

I think the 550 is a bargain for the price. Very happy with it. Stay away from the 3D BD players and TVs. Bleeding edge stuffs, wait at least a year for that to settle before wasting your money.

Last but not least. Make sure you update the firmware! And check regularly. They fix various issues and add new features. I updated twice within the first day of opening the box. LG BD550 Network Blu-ray Disc Player

Recently I have tried four BD players which have Netflix streaming capability. LG BD370, Samsung BD P-1600, Sony BDP N460, and LG BD 550. Earlier I also tried Roku HD player for netflix streaming. Except Roku, all the BD players I tried all use wired Ethernet, no wireless.

(I have wired Ethernet in my house so I don't need wireless network.)

I could tell you guys: LG BD 550 is by far the best when it comes to Netflix streaming. I ended up returning all the others. BD550's Fast forwarding, fast rewinding is just way faster than any other unit I tried. It is even faster than Roku! Among these units, Samsung BD P1600 is the slowest. Also BD 550 not only shows your movies in the netflix instant queue, it also gives you option to pick movie you may like, what you've recently watched (even after you removed it from your instant queue), new arrivals, etc. It's just a perfect Netflix player. If you like Netflix's GUI interface, then just don't buy Sony N460! Sony completely screwed Netflix's GUI but Sony's GUI is just too awkward.

For other streaming sources, BD550 has Vudu, Roxio CinemaNow, Youtube and Picasa. Among all the units I tried, this is the only unit that has Vudu. Its Youtube and Picasa application UI and load speed is just awesome. I am so happy I finally find one netflix streaming device that works well.

As for BD player performance. Be honest, I really can't see much difference in terms of image quality.

============================

If you didn't get a chance to try other players, let me remind you that all of them are SLOOOOOOW in loading BD disc. As for Blu-ray playback video quality, actually to me as a normal user, they all perform similarly well. For loading speed, I am not sure if it is because the players all try to contact Internet first before playing (BD link) but I feel it is just way too slow than DVD. Since I found none of them outperform each other significantly, I landed on this LG BD550 becoz of its streaming speed and ease of use in GUI. - Netflix - Streaming - Blu-ray - Lg'

Refrigerator Filter - refrigerator, maytag filter

This filter is rated at 750 gallons capacity. If the consumer uses one gallon of water per day in the form of water from the refrigerator dispenser and ice from the ice dispenser, the filter will last 750 days; i.e., just over TWO years. In general, there is no reason to replace the filter yearly, unless you have a really yuccky water source.

In a small household of two adults, the filter should last considerably longer than two years. Furthermore, with the addition of a filtered water dispenser at the sink (such as a GE undercounter unit), the refrigerator filter would be functional for a few years. The undercounter units have a quite large capacity and some use two filter cartridges. Maytag UKF8001 Puriclean II Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack

This filter lasts in our Maytag Ice20 refrigerator exactly one year. It is easy to change. It does make the water taste better, so about $32 per year isn't too much to pay for something we use all the time. I've noticed that this same filter comes with different part numbers and names under the general title of PuriClean II. You may pay more or less to get the same thing, so shop around.

This filter was a snap to install, and once I did my water pressure from the dispenser was back to normal. If you've

got a refrigerator that uses one of these filters and the water's been coming out slow then it's probably time for a new filter. One word of advice: use a big water pitcher for the first use of the dispenser after the filter change - the pressure has to readjust and it will spit out a few huge blasts of water that will overwhelm your normal water glass. After the couple of big blasts though, you get constant good pressure, better than you remembered was even possible after the gradual slow down with your old filter.

I have an Amana fridge with a water filter. It was time for a new pack of filters. I put the model number of my old filters in the search engine and I was referred to the Maytag filters and of course a new model number. I hesitated but thought I can always return them if it's not correct. The new filters fit and work great!. It was an easy purchase. Thanks! It is suggested you change your water filters every 3 months. With just two people in the household we change ours every 6-7 months.

I bought an Amana refrigerator a little over a year ago and recently the "Replace Filter" light came on. I shopped several stores around here and was totally confused as to which filter was the right one. I mean, Whirlpool bought Maytag and Amana bought Whirlpool (or something like that), so it is hard to tell which filter was for which fridge. There were no convenient charts to guide you. Finally I went to Google and typed in the part number. Amazon had the best price. We have well water with a whole house filter, but my son noticed the difference right away. Good filter, good price, quick delivery.

Hi receive the product exactly the estimated arrival date in perfect conditions. Installation was very easy, and we notice clearer water and ice, my old filter was 2 years old, and I haven't notice any bad taste or decoloration in the ice, but after Intall a new one there is certaily a difference in the "taste" of the water and the size and color of the Ice. I recommend this product, and specially the 3 pack, since it eliminate the need to get one every 6 or 12 months, you have enogh for a minimum of 2 years or so.

This water filter produces great tasting water! I have always been a fan of Pur water filtration systems, so with this filter you get the great taste of Pur filtered water right out of your refrigerator. It lasts about 1 year and then a red light on the refrigerator comes on indicating that it is time to swap out the water filter. To be honest, the water didn't really taste bad at the year marker, so you might be able to get the filter to last longer than that. Can't say for sure, though, since we have always gone ahead and swapped it out anyways.

It is super easy to install. It depends on your refrigerator, but on our Maytag the filter is on the inside of the refrigerator in the top back right corner. You open the filter door by pushing in the tab. Then turn the filter counter-clockwise to unscrew it. The filter will have some remaining water in it, so make sure that you keep it tilted up or you will have some water to wipe up. The new filter comes in shrink wrap plastic, so you take that off and then peal off the seal that covers the top of the filter. Insert the new filter where the old one was and turn clockwise to tighten. Don't over tighten it. Just get it snug. You will hear water rush into the filter as you are screwing it in. Then close the filter door. Last thing is to let some water run through the lines to remove all the air. I took a 1 gallon jug and just let the water fill it up. The instructions recommend running 4 gallons through to make sure you removed all the air. I only did 1 gallon and it seemed to be more than enough. That's it! Now you can just sit back and enjoy some clean filtered water.

If you figure the price of buying bottled water vs. a new filter once a year, this is definitely a good deal at an average cost of about $2.50 a month.

This flows much slower than the old filter it replaced. It installed just fine, the price was good, and it filters the water and ice. But for filling up your glass with water it takes too long. This is in a JennAir/Maytag JSD2690HES that's about 5 yrs old. - Maytag - Fridge Filter - Maytag Filter - Refrigerator'

Clearscan - ipod accessories, ipod fm transmitter

This is my second Belkin Radio Adapter, the first being with a hard mount. While I enjoy it's mobility, the signal strength is painful, and driving through the city I have to search for the perfect channel or deal with dull, ambient static. The Clearscan feature is awful, and always reverts to the same station which is worse than the one I am using.

For the price, this is a decent adapter, but I would suggest spending a bit more money for a nicer one. Belkin Car Stereo Kit for iPod or iPhone in the Car with Tune Cast Auto, RockStar, and Dual USB Power Adapter

It came in the type of infuriating packaging that requires a chain saw to open, so of course you have to totally destroy it. I HAD to open it - how else was I going to find out that it was defective! To make matters worse, the seller I purchased it from, Ace Digital Photo, has a lousy return policy. Since the item was opened, I had to pay shipping both ways! Cost me almost 15 bucks. All for the pleasure of having a defective item shipped to me. I have learned my lesson, I will not purchase any more items from sellers other than Amazon without first making sure they have a friendly return policy.

I ordered this be used with my RCA MP3 player (because the description says it's compatable with MP3 players). It really is not. I wanted the FM Transmitter to be used however the only thing that is compatable is the green cord and I do not have that plug available in my car.

I went ahead and bought an iPod so I could use the FM Transmitter (and I wanted one) and when I finally went to use it the screen must have been damaged at some point because the numbers just barely appear. I have no idea what stations it's telling me to turn on to hear my music. I have to look at the first number and guess. - Ipod - Clearscan - Ipod Accessories - Ipod Fm Transmitter'

Jiu-jitsu - anatomy, fitness

I started Shotokan Kaate when I was 17. I am 23 now. Been doing it regularly for 6 years. I should probably say first I was a lazy teenager who didn;t get much exercise outside of a quick walk. I didn't do sports. My joints were stiff. 6 years later I still am but have improved flexibility. If only I was told the correct way to stretch. Joint pains and problems are developing now.

This is a good book. It is very broad as some reviewer say. It covers the general muscles that are used in a technique, but they could have broken them down further in steps as the technique is applied which muscles activate too and how it adds power. And when the wrong muscles are used (tense shoulders/ bent arm in a straight punch) they reduce power and speed.

Of course it is a lot more accessible than a medical/university text or primer on physiotherapy, kinesiology, sports science, biology and biomechanics. That's why I bought it. Those other books are really expensive! ;)

The stretching exercises listed in the book relate to the technique it is associated with and can be practiced in moderation or to the limit.

The book doesn't fall into the following trap:

Some inexperienced/uneducated instructors might have beginners (even though they are warm and heart rate is up) do advanced stretches most often seen in Tae Kwon Do. Some of these are old style training methods, some proven to be wrong by sports science students. For example using a partner for weight on the knees in butterfly sitting position. There are right ways and wrongs. Or sitting in kneeling position buttocks to the soles of foot, then lying back to stretch the adductors?/abductors? ( don'ts ask me - just the front of the hips or pelvis). Not a good idea for beginners who aren't elastic children yet to have stiff bones/joints.

This review is more like a rant, but Martial Arts should be for longevity and life long practice, not a short career sport like other sports where the competitor stops after 30-ish and retreats into a flab shell. Karate and other martial artists can practice their art for life. Take Kancho Kanazawa, 80 years old this year, still travelling to Ireland next month to do a seminar/grading.

Train smart, train well. The Anatomy of Martial Arts: An Illustrated Guide to the Muscles Used for Each Strike, Kick, and Throw

Every serious martial arts student, teacher, and coach should have this book on his or her shelf. It is a fantastic resource that you will reference again and again.

As a martial arts student myself, I will look up techniques I'm working on to help me understand how my body is functioning. The book's descriptions and illustrations assist me to visualize each technique into its component parts.

As a coach and instructor, this book has changed the way I approach certain techniques with my athletes. The speed/power/accuracy descriptions and key exercises provided by the authors are valuable tools when I'm coaching both novice and elite athletes.

I have been training in various martial arts for over 25 years and hold advanced black belt ranks in taekwondo and hapkido/yongmudo. I have also trained extensively in Brazilian jiujitsu and kendo, with some experience in judo and karate. Currently, I spend most of my time coaching competitive taekwondo athletes. I coach novices, collegiate players, and elite athletes who compete at the international level.

Like all athletics, the practice of martial arts has benefitted from advances in sports science. It is no longer sufficient to simply perform technique repetitions day after day. Rather, through modern training routines students may learn more efficiently and more safely, allowing them to train throughout their lives and minimizing injury rates. It also makes the martial arts more accessible to an increasingly diverse population and range of athletic talents. This book advances and promotes the application of modern training methods.

The authors appear to have deliberately chosen 50 "generic" techniques that have wide application across many martial art systems. Moreover, they make attempts to differentiate between styles or applications of the same techniques, thereby making the book as generalized as possible. For example, as the authors acknowledge there are many different ways to perform a roundhouse kick, depending on the purpose and approach: sport taekwondo versus self-defense hapkido versus mixed martial arts fighting. While some coaches and practitioners might debate the inclusion of some similar techniques (e.g., both the front snap kick versus the front thrust kick are included) and the exclusion of some distinct techniques (e.g., the back kick versus the turning side kick), there is more than enough differentiation contained in the book to provide all levels of athlete with important training data.

One aspect directly relevant to the anatomy of martial arts that I would like to see added to the next addition of this book is balance. Balance and spatial orientation are functions of the inner ear, eyes, pressure receptors in the skin, sensory receptors in the joints and muscles, and the central nervous system. Balance is a skill that can be learned and trained, and the biomechanics of balance vary depending on the execution of any given technique. Given that many students struggle with balance and proper body mechanics, it would be helpful if the authors addressed this topic either for each individual technique or in a stand-alone section. That said, the inclusion of many yoga exercises in the book will accomplish many of the required balance and biomechanical developments.

The book is logically organized, easy to follow, and easy to find techniques. Part 1 offers and overview of martial arts anatomy and a useful tutorial on how to use the book. Part 2 organizes each technique into appropriate subsection for Hand Strikes and Blocks, Kicks, Throws, Groundwork, Rolls and Falls, and Weapons. In the back of the book, several appendixes offer instructional tips and categorized muscle listings. The illustrator used color coding of primary and secondary muscles to make it easy to view and understand.

Within each technique, the authors use clear and concise descriptions and provide useful images of technique applications. This is helpful, since different martial arts may use a variety of names and applications for the same/similar techniques. The authors assign ratings to each technique characteristic. Although those ratings are objective and therefore open to debate, they are helpful to the reader's understanding of the logic the recommended exercises.

In general, this book is a welcome addition to the martial arts literature. It will support students and instructors as they design individualized training plans that target specific skill and technique development.

I recommend it highly! - Anatomy - Karate - Capoeira - Fitness'

Wipe Off Boards - dry erase boards, whiteboard

Boards are great quality and arrived quickly. Bonus: Each one came in its own ziplock bag so I was able to create kits for my students that included a dry erase marker and clip to turn whiteboard into a clipboard. Highly recommend this product! Chenille Kraft 9881-10 Chenille Kraft Student Dry-Erase Boards, Melamine, 12 x 9, White, 10-Pack

I expected 1 board, but this package gives you 10 boards. They are good quality for 2 dollars a piece, about the size of an average piece of paper. The dry erase marker (Expo low odor dry erase) seems to leave some faint residue marks after erasing.

I glued magnets to the backs of four of these boards. I have them stuck on my refrigerator: weeks priorities and to-do list, shopping list, the weeks menu plan and a place to jot down phone numbers, notes, messages etc. I really love them.

These boards are amazing. Although they do not have frames around the edges it actually works for better cleanup as there is never a buildup around the would be framed edges. Study and with a solid back, they hold up better then retail boards which usually have a back mad from cardboard. These feel more like clipboards with a dry erase surface.

Packaging was good as well. Since these boards are a lot more study then normal there was no need for a mass number of air pillows. Each board is individually encased in a plastic envelop to protect the surface from damage and all ten are enclosed in a larger plastic envelop.

Bought 30 for a fifth grade classoom. They are easy to clean with a smooth surface. Back side is brown, but useful as a clip board using clothes pins. They are thinner than some brands, yet feel solid. The edges are nicely rounded. We have only used them 3 times so far, hopefully they will last. - Dry Erase Board - Whiteboard - White Board - Dry Erase Boards'

Mp3 Player - portable, mp3

With the ability to play mp3-cd, usb flash drives, and SD cards, you can't expect to pay any less for this unit being at only about $40. Anything cheaper and your looking at tiny radios that can't put out any volume and have very limited features.

Pros:

-several inputs provide plenty of options

-radio reception is phenomenal, tons of stations and alot of them come in crystal clear

-button layout is simple and easy to use

-very portable, only about 14" long x 6" high x 8" deep and maybe 4-5 lbs without batteries

-lcd screen lights up with a nice blue display

-has an AUX-in for whatever that can be used for

Cons:

-battery compartment is a bit tight so its a bit of a pain in the butt getting batteries in and out if you do this frequently

-metal screen that covers speakers sticks out a bit to much and makes it too easy to dent the screen if the unit is hit

-the 2 slider buttons that switch the unit between cd/radio/usb etc and Am/FM/stereo are kinda cheap and its best to try and minimize the number of times you handle these buttons. The buttons work ok but they definately have a cheap feel to them.

-bass is a joke

-only moderately loud and only the "jazz" and maybe the "normal" presets provide decent sound and minimal distortion on maximum volume

-radio tuning is analog (which many people prefer digital)

-the +10

I wrote more more cons then pros but I think alot of the cons are just being picky and also alot of them are easy to live with. If less then maybe $60 and considering the features it has I would probably purchase this unit again. NAXA NX-250 Portable AM FM Radio USB Port MP3 CD Player Boombox Stereo

I was looking for a radio/cd player with a USB port for use in an office setting. I originally purchased a COBY MP-CD471, but had to return the unit due to a loud humming noise the unit makes when earphones are used. The NAXA unit was my second choice, and I really wish I had purchased it before the COBY item. Thus far, it has met my expectations in every way. It has USB capabilities, the radio unit works even in an office building where reception is normally poor, and the CD unit is adequate. The speakers are average, but for my purposes, they are acceptable as I am typically using earphones. If there were one improvement I would make, it would be a digital tuner for the radio rather than the old-fashioned `wheel.' Other than that, I am generally happy with the NAXA unit (for my limited purposes).

First Impressions:

What I like:

* Solid Feel

* Lots of features - Aux in, USB Memory Key/SD/MMC slots, CD - MP3 player, Headphone out Jack, can use battery power.

What I wish it had, could have etc:

* More than a 90 day warranty

* A remote would be super (but, let's be reasonable, it's a low cost box)

* Better controls to allow a bit more bass, the EQ doesn't really allow much of a change in sound.

* A better Manual (With descriptions on how it sorts/prioritizes MP3 Playlist).

* More power (they seem to have trimmed the Volume a bit, probably a good idea in order to not blow out the speakers)

What I don't like:

* Not enough BASS

* The $15+ shipping charge

I originally bought a low end Sony (CFD-S01CD), while it did have the cassette player and had better sound, it didn't have near the capabilities of the NAXA NX-250. Of course, the NAXA is a new name and therefore its quality (to me) is unknown as I have no personal experience with the brand. If it lasts and can hold up under the rigors of camping and light use at home, I'll be satisfied.

I compared this with 2 other boomboxes in my store. All are near the $50 (w/shipping) price range. Out of the Sony ZSE5 series (the white and colored boomboxes) The NAXA NX-250 (used to cost forty sixdollars after shipping) and the Cornet BH-426 I found the following.

The NAXA NX-250 sounds the best, somewhat decent bass, though don't expect great bass for less than a hundred bucks

Second in order of performance was the Cornet, with a tinnier sound and less bass than the NAXA. It does look the nicest by far out of the three.

The Sony had by FAR the worst sound. Way worse than the Cornet. No bass, just totally flat mid range.

The radio was hardest to pick up FM on the sony as well. If you can afford it, and Amazon drops the price back to ninety two dollars, the sony CFDG505 CFDG505BLACK DOES sound about 10 times better than even the NAXA NX-250, proving that if sony's low end boombox is j-u-n-k at lest their mid range box is spectacular.

addendum: this from an email I received from NAXA "...the NX-250 and the NPB-250 are the same unit. The NPB-250 is this year's model and the NX-250 is the facsimile predecessor."

I was doing an extensive search to find a resonably priced CD/MP3 player with a USB port and most importantly headphones. This one has them all, plus radio and memory card slot. I'm extremely happy with the purchase--it is very easy for my kids to handle the unit without any help. The unit offers enough volume to listen to book on CDs and decent effect for music(do not expect the effects of high-end boom box player). NAXA NX-250 packs more than enough goodies at this price-point for my purposes. Highly recommended.

Like other reviewers--I don't like the steep shipping and handling cost. - Mp3 - Cd Player - Cd - Portable'

Ipad Case

I ordered two of these timbuk2 bags. One for my iPad2 and one for my wife's iPad1. They were by all accounts on the description the same, and i bought from this link--I accessed this page from my accounts and prior orders on both purchases. Both said fit the iPad1 and iPad2. The first one I ordered from a third party seller on amazon (ebags) because amazon didn't have any. The second I ordered from amazon. When they came, they are slightly different sizes.

The ebag one fits my ipad2 is about a half inch smaller than the amazon one. It fits perfectly my ipad2 with a smartcover--a leather one if that makes a difference. My wife's iPad1 with the apple case doesn't fit in it.

The amazon one (I.e., the one sold directly from amazon) is bigger and fits the iPad1 with the apple case. There's just a touch of extra room, but it is a great fit. The iPad2 if a little loose in it.

Overall, both bags are great. Good padding. I like the look. There is cushion but it is not overly thick. But there is a little bit of buyer beware out there. If you have an ipad2 in all likelihood you want the smaller bag, but there is no real way to tell from the ordering system.

Edit: If you look at some of the more recent reviews above, it seems as if they might be sending out the smaller one now (as opposed to the larger one discussed in the older comments). So if you have an iPad1 and want to use the apple case, this may not be the sleeve for you. Timbuk2 iPad Envelope Sleeve (Black/Gunmetal/Rev Red, X-Small)

This will fit an iPad2 with the smartcover. This sleeve is nice and thin and should offer a little more protection in addition to the smartcover. The "hook and loop" fastener system is very strong and won't come undone easily.

I bought a smaller sleeve this past fall for my Kindle and liked it so much I wanted to get one for my iPad2.

The sleeve is well made and has the right amount of padding while maintaining a thin profile, but as another reviewer had mentioned, there's an issue with the sizing. I ordered two sleeves both directly from amazon and I ended up getting two different sizes. The first one fit the iPad2 + smart cover perfectly, but the second one is really loose (almost half an inch of wiggle on both ends). I'm getting a replacement from amazon soon, so we'll see if it was just a fluke or maybe their supplier has an older stock of the larger sleeve...

Update:

After 2 more replacements, I was unable to get the smaller sleeve that fits the iPad2 snug for my second sleeve. The sleeve is still great, but unfortunately, it's hit or miss with the sizing. I'm happy with my first one, but unfortunately I can't keep asking for replacements until I get the right one for my friend. I'm still rating this 5 stars because the sleeve I'm keeping works great and fits perfectly, and amazon customer service has been exceptional.

If you want to see the size difference between the cases, take a look at the photo I uploaded on the product page.

I bought this because I have one of their laptop cases with which I am very pleased. The laptop case is thickly quilted and very protective. The iPad case is also very protective, although not quite as thick/padded as the laptop case. Still, it is thick enough and wonderful for what I wanted it for: Protect the iPad from scratches and dents when I toss it in my backpack. It's hardy and well-made with tough, rigid seams all around the outer edge. The flap closes with three large velcro strips - maybe too much, but better too much than too little.

Fast Delivery. The color of the Sleeve is attractive. But seriously, i would not recommend anyone to get this sleeve for iPad2. The flip is hard. The width of the sleeve does not have any extra space left which means that you got to use a slight force in order to fit it in. (Ended up getting scratches on the side of my iPad2. The material inside the sleeve does not provide a sense of secure. (It's abit rough). Would like to return the item if possible.

The Timbuk2 iPad envelope sleeve is perfect for what I was needing. After getting my iPad I went and bought a keyboard case to go with it-ZAGGmate with Keyboard, but still felt that I'd need something else in case I didn't need to take the keyboard case with me. I was pleasantly surprised that not only does my iPad fit perfectly in this case, and although it's a little snug, I can put the iPad into the Zaggmate keyboard case and then put the entire thing into the Timbuk2 sleeve! Got the baby blue/grey/white and it looks pretty stylish too, if you're into that. Good padding, without being overkill and also looks great when carrying it as well!

Been looking for a sleeve to fit my Ipad2. This looked light weight, I liked the style and looked easy to carry (which it is) but when received, it was too small. When I tried to slide my Ipad2 in the sleeve, it wouldn't fit. I returned it, ordered a second, one as the representive told me that with this item, the size can vary. After receiving the second one - I give up - this one is smaller than the first, about 1/4 inch smaller. Needless to say, this one is being sent back.'

Wireless Accessories

This is the first smart phone I have owned and I really enjoy it. It stays charged for me and I like the setup. I dont have a problem with my battery it usually last me a day or two depending on how much web browsing I do. It has also replaced my mp3 player. Its nice to be able to have your phone with you while you excercise instead of both a phone and mp3/ipod! Also I like the fact that I can connect to my home internet since I only pay for the 150mb plan, that way I dont go over my data plan. LG Vortex Android Phone, Purple (Verizon Wireless)

Ok so I have little experience with touch screens nor much with apps. However its working out great. I am taking my time getting to understand how it works. I Wanted a smart

phone but was worried I would be stuck with to big of a phone. I have noticed how much bigger the screens r on the smart phones. I wanted all the larger phone had to offer but that would fit in my hand. I am enjoying all the new and fun things I can do with this phone. For my small hands this is a perfect choice for me. The only complant that I have is that this phone doesnt have a flash. Other then that its awsome. It does what I need it to do and thats what matters. Love it!!'

Construction Staplers - construction staplers, stapler

I bought this stapler because my long-suffering wife refused to act like a clamp anymore, so I had to hold up sheets of sheathing or paneling with an elbow and a knee while trying to drive nails. It got old really fast! This PC stapler is a marriage saver! The owner's manual is well written, and I was using the stapler five minutes out of the box. I easily quadrupled my output, and was able to sheath and side my shop (16x16') solo in a single day. Haven't had a jam yet, though they look fairly simple to clear. Definitely worth the money! Porter-Cable MS200 1-Inch to 2-Inch 16-Gauge 7/16-Inch Medium Crown Stapler

In the first few months of MS200 stapler ownership, it was used to drive 17,000 2" staples. Not a single jam. (So, I can't comment on jam fixes, but it is easy to remove the nosepiece, without tools.) This nailer has a slight "recoil". If it isn't pushed into the work AND the wood is fairly hard, the staple won't go in all the way. This is because part of the drive force is spent pushing the tool away from the staple. The same thing would probably happen with any large stapler. For the most part, the staple head is about flush with the surface, and of course, power is adjustable via the regulator.

Overall, the productivity gained by using this powerhouse is incredible. My speed was about 1 staple per second, but I took my time. Although one hand control is workable, I used both hands most of the time, in order to ensure the staple was fully driven home.

I also bought the 7/16" x 2" staples from Amazon, and they stay in. In fact, be sure you're driving staples where you won't change your mind. In the cases where a staple had to be removed, I couldn't pull them out. Wound up cutting the tops off. Almost like driving a double nail with each trigger pull. That's holding power.

The carrying case is one of those molded types, with two plastic clasps. Seems fine. Fits the tool perfectly, and provides great protection - with a small bit of staple & oil storage.

I bought this Porter Cable Stapler for vinyl siding installation,I read all the reviews I have found and found them to be very informative,so thanks to all of you.My opinion of this inexpensive air tool made by one the best tool manufacturers ever is awesome and precise, light and time saving.I should of bought one of these 15 years ago but just never thought it would work. Also I feel it is very important to get the noise piece for vinyl siding part number 60040 I believe....Good Luck

I needed to install a sub-floor. I went as fast as could and the stapler did a great job with no jams. It is easy to run out of staples and not know it. It needs something besides just looking thru a little hole at the staples. Uses little air, my pancake compressor kept up. I did have a hard time setting the depth of the staples. The depth varies a LOT with out touching the dial and I had to go back and pound down about 15% of the staples.

Excellent product, lightweight yet sturdy enough for the most demanding projects. Have used this product on fence and deck projects without any problems. Easy to load and operate, if a jam happens, very easy to clear and return to work. Uses a variety of staple lengths.

Unit comes with storage case. Easy to load and shoots common staple sizes. We use 2 of these guns on a regular basis and have had no problems other then the occisioanl vapor lock which is easily fixed by removing air line momentarily. If you want a decent gun for an affordable price the Porter Cable is a good one.

I purchased the PC stapler and siding attachment from Amazon. I'm very pleased with both purchases. So far I've used the stapler for OSB sheathing, 3/4" Ply shelving, and vinyl siding. I've had one jam which I was able to easily clear and normally use single shot mode. I purchased coated staples and the material tears apart before the staples move. As another rater stated, the siding attachment does take a little training to use properly but does work well.

Could not be happier with this stapler. It's easy on air, have only used appox. 4000 staples, but never had 1 jam. Even when the staple hit screwheads inside the wood it just mashed the staple on out and did not jam. The toolless depth adj. and air ex. direction is great and never had to try the toolless unjamming deal. The ease ( and toolless also) change from single trigger pull to bump staple'n is great. Very solid well build tool. And cheapest stapler that will handle 2 inch staples. With everything figured in I dont see how you can get a better 1 to 2 inch stapler or one that is cheaper. - Construction Staplers - Stapler'

Grooming Kits - dog clippers, grooming

Scaredy Cut silent clipper was so easy to use on my skittish cat. He doesn't like anything that has sound as it scares him and is hard to hold him while grooming. With Scaredy Cut, my cat was easy to control while I cut his long Maine Coon hair off for the Summertime. I was able to get an even cut using the attached comb. If your cat won't stop fidgeting or is always trying to run away due to electric razor noises, this is a great tool to use; It makes no sound so it won't scare even the "scarediest" cat from running under the couch in fear of the noise. Scaredy Cut ® Silent Clipper Home Pet Grooming - Cat Dog Horse

I have two maltese dogs who get groomed every 6 weeks at $100 a trip. When I came across this product on amazon I was a bit skeptical, yet hopeful at the same time. My skepticism was completely unfounded. I've never cut my dogs hair before so I was very surprised that it came out pretty decent. It looks better then the job the "professional" dog groomers do at the big box pet chains. Scaredy Cut was easy to use and I don't have to chase my dogs around the house for an hour like I did when I bought the $200 pet clippers. My only complaint would have to be the finger and thumb hole. If they were slightly larger, the scissors would be more comfortable to use.

Scaredy Cut,we tried many different products to trim our cat's hair, she has very thick and long hair so it does get matted up.This is the only product we have found that she will actually sit still and not fight to get away while we cut the matted hair. And it works great at cutting the hair and the matted hair without worry about cutting into her skin.

I have a miniature poodle who is afraid of any electric clipper noise. I have been cutting his hair with scissors and I must admit, it has been a pretty bad hack job. I recently purchased Scaredy Cut Silent Clippers and they are great. Chip isn't afraid of them, his haircuts are even, and they are easy on the fingers. The shipping was fast. I think they are well worth the price and will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I'm so glad I discovered the Scaredy Cut clipper on Amazon. I adopted a full grown Maine Coon cat from a shelter. He was so frightened of everything. I couldn't approach him with a scissor and couldn't take him to a groomer, but I needed to remove his matted hair. The Scaredy Cut clipper has changed our relationship.

The terrific thing about the Scaredy cut clipper is that you can start by simply combing your animal. I believe you can use it on cats, dogs or even horses if they are frightened by the sound of a buzzer. I started by combing my cat with they guard which is attached to the scissor. Most long haired cats like the feel of being combed. When you find a spot that needs to be clipped, you can snip it off. The blade is so quiet; the cat almost doesn't know that you are trimming him. The guard prevents you from nipping at the animal's skin or sensitive areas. The clipper doesn't heat up and burn your pet's skin as a buzzer can do.

My cat is now a very happy guy. He purrs when I clip him and he is much healthier. Maine Coons have wonderful personalities, but long haired cats do require a little more maintenance. If your cat is having digestive problems, or you want to trim him for the summer, I recommend the Scaredy Cut clipper without hesitation. I got mine through Amazon and avoided shipping charges!

I have two Schnauzers and a Schnauzer mix that used to cost over $750 a year total to take to the groomer. Before Scardey Cut, I have tried every way possible to groom them myself, but I often made them look terrible (once like they had a skin disease!) and had to take them to the groomer anyway to "fix" what I did. I don't want to put my groomer out of business, but I can definitely already tell, after having the Scardey Cut for just two months, that my dogs are probably only going to need one professional groomer visit a year rather than 4 or 5 -- that gets pricey for 3 dogs! I can easily make them look great all by myself using this product. The product doesn't make any noise (like an electric clipper would) and doesn't intimidate them at all. They react the same as if I'm brushing them, and in fact they like the attention. It's very easy to give them an all-over even cut, which I could NEVER achieve with a regular scissor. I also like using the little Scaredy Cut scissor for their faces because of the blunt tip. The only real suggestion I have is that you can groom over a few days rather than do it all at once if your dog won't sit still for a long time. After all, most of us aren't professional groomers! I'll groom the body one day, the legs the next, the face the next, etc. If you do it in stages the grooming is SUPER easy. Also, brush your dog before you groom. It's fun bonding time with your dog, rather than dropping him off at the groomer for a whole day. Two paws up for the Scaredy Cut! I wish it had been invented a long time ago!

Charlie is an perfect adorable chinchilla persian boy. Unfortunately, he grew up not liking to be touched much and has issues with impaction, so shaving him entirely is the best bet. Normally he would have to be sedated to be shaved. One groomer thought to try without and ended up scratched up so badly that she had to give him back half groomed with blood all over him. He recently has had some issues as he is getting older and it would not be a good idea to sedate him, so these clippers seemed like a good idea and so we thought to try them. We started small and doing portions of him at a time. He is good with them for maybe 2-3 minutes and then his angry side kicks in. He is slightly uneven, but with enough sessions we think it will work out great. So in turn I would suggest these for cats that are not good with groomers or clippers. So in turn I rate this product 5 stars because out of all the things we have tried this has been the most effective. It might take some extra work on your side, but it is worth the safety of your animal. - Dog Clippers - Clipper - Pet Supplies - Grooming'

Skirts For Women - skirt, running skirt

I tried on this skirt back in 2008 but could not justify spending that kind of money on running apparel. Thanks to the miracles of the internets, Amazon has reunited me with this super functional and cute garment that is sure to last through many endurance races to come. The fabric on the skirt is very good quality and just thick enough to not kick up. The shorts are the perfect length and constructed out of thinner, very breathable fabric giving a very secure and comfortable barrier betwixt thine derriere and the world. I highly recommend this item. Sugoi Women's Stamina Skirt, White/Black, Medium - Skirts For Women - Skirt Sports - Skirt - Running Skirt'

Flip Ultra Hd - flip ultrahd, camcorder

If I'm going to spend more than a hundred bucks on an item or somewhere around there, I do extensive research first to know I got the best bang-for-the-buck and, consequently, dodge any potential future buyer's remorse.

I've realized that the time I spend doing my product comparisons is often time that others don't have so I may as well share what I can.

I'll start by saying that you'll see my "Verified Amazon Purchase" on the Flip HD Ultra Camcorder review because, obviously, that's the one I wound up buying and I'll share with you why. But what I like in a camcorder may not suit your own needs so I'll break it down and let you decide what's best for you via what I found out:

Here are the pocket camcorders I compared:

Flip UltraHD (will be referred to as "F")

Flip Mino HD 2nd generation (Will be referred to as "M")

Creative Labs Vado HD 8 GB 2nd generation (Will be referred to as "CL")

Kodak Zi6 Pocket HD (Will be referred to as "K")

Why HD cameras only? Brighter colors and better images, wider images

HD SHOOTING TIME:

F: 120 minutes.

M: 120 minutes

CL:120 minutes

K: 25 minutes with batteries they included, 120 minutes if you buy an SD card

MEMORY:

F: 8 GB

M:8 GB

CL: 8 GB

K: internally only 30 MB recording space but it has 32 GB expandable SD/SDHC card slot. Because it comes with such small recording space you really need to buy an SD or SDHC card to maximize its potential, but the potential is really good and this will increase your ability to shoot longer.

RESOLUTION:

All 720p which is excellent, just one step below the top 1080p format.

MICROPHONE:

F: Stereo

M: Mono **Update** They are now putting Stereo Mics in the Minos as of 2010.

CL: Mono

K: Mono

SOUND:

F:Premier AAC audio. Best stereo sound quality but still not great in winds

M:Good sound quality. Still not good in winds.

CL:Poor sound quality; had issues with sound and picture not being in sync.

K:Poor sound quality

ZOOM:

F: 2x

M:2x

CL:2x

K: poor quality zoom on the one I tried but I still think it's 2x. It has a great macro focus for very close-up objects if, for example, you see a bumble bee and want to shoot it on a leaf a few inches away! Kinda cool.

CAMERA SIZE AND WEIGHT:

F: 4.3x2.2x1.2 4 oz

M: 3.9x2x0.6 3. 3 oz

CL: 3.9x3x0.6 3.5 oz

K: 5.5x2.5.0.9 5.6 oz

SHIPPING SIZE AND WEIGHT:

F: 6.2 x 3.1 x 3.1 inches ; 11.2 ounces

M: 2 x 0.7 x 3.9 inches ; 1 pound

CL: 3.3 x 7.9 x 6.3 inches ; 11.2 ounces

K: 4x 5x 2.5" 2.4 lbs

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

F: USB cable pops out of the back so you don't need to keep up with a separate cable. Comes with Flip Video rechargeable AA battery pack (recharges when connected to USB); also supported by standard AA batteries. Note: Some sets come with the HDMi mini included and others come with the rechargeable battery pack on Amazon. Looks like one or the other but of course if you need both you can buy the other.

M: USB cable pops out of the back on this one as well. Has child safe button to prevent accidental deletion of videos. Internal lithium ion battery recharges through built-in USB arm

CL: USB in camcorder. Included in box are HDMI cable (nice), USB extension cable,(nice)silicon skin (cool) & rechargeable battery.

K: Included in box are HD and AV cables and wrist strap and rechargeable batteries and battery charger. Has built in USB arm.

SPEED:

F: 30 frames per second.

M: 30 frames per second

CL: 30 frames per second

K: choice of 30 frames per second or 60 frames per second.

VIEWING SCREEN: All 2" except the Kodak was the largest at 2.4"

IMPORTANT NOTES:

F: Best low-light performance for the mini cameras (though not perfect at all) and least amount of blurring and dropped frames in my opinion. Best color. Only one with stereo sound. You can get an underwater case for this one! Though that may sound crazy for a Texan, we use the camera non-stop on vacations and even when we aren't IN the water, we are around the water...on boats, in the sand with sea mist, etc. Then we can dive in and record the fish. Comes preloaded with flipshare software...just plug in to computer and it pops up. Only one with stereo sound.

M: Colors don't appear as good on the Mino as the other cameras. Thinnest camera. Make sure you get the one that only comes in the color aluminum or brushed metal. If it comes in any other colors it is the 1st generation MinoHD and they improved upon that one in the newer models. Great audio. Better shooting in low light than most mini cameras. Camera comes preloaded with FlipShare software. Can get still images through flipshare software.

CL: Decent filming in low light but not nearly as good as the Ultra or Mino; Software is preloaded in camcorder.

K: This is the only camera that I compared without the built in image stabilizatin which corrects for shaky images. What appears to be metal in picture is actually a chrome colored plastic. That said, this had the largest viewing screen of all of them. 2.4" Very poor in low light and seemed to have far more shaking and blurring. It also takes still pictures but they are really really poor quality...same as a lesser-quality cell phone pictures but good in a pinch if you want a still shot and have no cell or camera I s'pose. Heaviest for a pocket camera. Software is not preloaded in camcorder but a cd comes with it.

HOW CNET'S EDITORS RATED THE CAMERAS:

F Excellent

M Excellent

CL Very Good

K Very Good

And, finally, the reviews of the Flip from experts swayed me quite a bit:

Fast Company: "Flip Ultra HD is Pure Digital's "Best Pocket Camcorder Yet." 6-09

USA Today: "New Flip Ultra Video Cameras Might Flip Your Switch" 4-09

Business Week: How do you Invigorate a Recession? Look to i-phone, Flip, Kindle, and Zip Car For Answers

There were lootttts more I came across when researching the Flip Ultra HD but those are some of my favorites.

CONCLUSION: Clearest picture and sound was important to me, expert reviews that pointed to the Flip UltraHD as well and I liked the built in software and the case I can get to shoot underwater. It is the number one selling camcorder as well. So that was my personal decision-making process. However, keep in mind that if you need reading glasses none of that will matter if the 2" screen is too small for your viewing the shots easily for playback in which case you may wish to get the Kodak if that's important to you..

Also: No matter which one you get, you will probably want a mini tripod if you ever want to be in the shot yourself do don't forget those.

Also note: It's confusing because when these manufacturers make changes in the camcorders, they do not change the names on the new versions, nor do they change the names if it's an HD version or a non-HD version so be sure you look for the "HD" after the brand name and look for "2nd generation" or "newer version" on the Mino and Vado if you like one of those better so you don't get the older models.

Hope my obsessive comparing and contrasting for my own purchasing assistance helped you as well even if what you wanted in a camera was different from me. :-) Flip UltraHD Video Camera - White, 8 GB, 2 Hours (2nd Generation) OLD MODEL - Flip Hd - High Definition - Flip Ultrahd - Camcorder'
