Witchblade  tv Series - supernatural, yancy butler

Not only was it one of the most complex series in the history of cable television, Witchblade was easily one of the most underrated. Witchblade debuted in a full-length television pilot on TNT and then after its initial success became a full-fledged series in 2001. In many ways the show was ahead of its time. It managed to be both science-fiction (when the genre was suffering from unoriginal sequels and poorly made remakes), fantasy (before the genre was validated by The Lord of the Rings and Pan's Labyrinth) and added a healthy dose of cop drama. The intricate plotlines featured such esoteric subject matter as psychic visions, cloning, abnormal psychology, time travel, reincarnation, demonic possession, mythological motifs, multiple conspiracies, occult philosophical ideologies, and also benefited from clever pop-culture in-jokes.

The series was brought to life by strong acting from a diverse, if not at times dysfunctional cast. Witchblade also featured a greatly varying soundtrack (this DVD does not include all of the artists I've named here; see my comment for further explanation) that included everyone from The Crystal Method to Peter Gabriel, from Rob Zombie to Enya, from Three Dog Night to U2. The series burst off the small screen with great visual flare, the special effects were almost on a par with the first Matrix film, and the camerawork was equally impressive.

There have been some fans of the comics who have complained about the many differences between the show and the comics. But as I was at the time unfamiliar with the comics, I enjoyed the show from a fresh, purely objective perspective. I also think that most fans of the source material understood that this was not an adaptation in the strictest sense but more of a loosely inspired series that dealt with some of the same themes.

And now fans of this cult classic can enjoy their favorite comic book-inspired heroine on DVD... at last.

The characters include:

Sara Pezzini- A New York homicide cop and the "Blade-wielder"

Danny Woo- Sara's partner and close friend.

Jake McCartey- Sara's rookie partner in training.

Gabriel Bowman- A young occult/novelty shop owner and close friend of Sara's.

Kenneth Irons- A billionaire who may be more than he seems.

Ian Nottingham- A mysterious bodyguard/assassin in Iron's employ.

Black Dragons- A group of assassins who underwent experimental training.

White Bulls- A secretive fraternity of corrupt vigilante cops.

Here is the entire listing of episodes, including the pilot film (which is also included):

8. Hierophant

A mysterious criminal mastermind is uniting rival crime syndicates and all the clues to his identity point to the most unlikely person of all.

9. Veritas

A secretive political schism hunts down Gabriel and Sara after they come across a roll of film that reveals them as murderers.

10. Parabolic

An enigmatic young vigilante takes out members of a cult devoted to hatred and Sara must choose aid her in bringing them down.

11. Palindrome

Sara is reunited with Conchobar while investigating an underground fight club that worships violent primitivism.

12. Ubique *

Sara's dreams may be premonitions of her greatest challenge yet and all she loves will hang in the balance.

* The Season Two finale was never intended to conclude the show's plotline, however as the series was canceled the story was left sadly incomplete.

I hope you will check out one of the coolest shows in recent years. "Rock on dot com!" Witchblade: The Complete Series - Supernatural - Yancy Butler - Witchblade  tv Series - Fantasy'

Household Supplies - coleman lantern, household supplies

This battery was purchased as a total replacement battery pack in a Wildgame Innovations (WGI) 1.3 MP strobe Game Camera under the Timberview brand name. See my review of that camera. This game cam used 4 "C" cell batteries. At best the batteries would last 6 weeks. After buying several packages of "C" cells, it was time to trim our battery cost.

The battery was quite a bit smaller than I expected. Out-of-the-box, this battery was charged (6.34 volts), but we topped it off before the battery was placed into service (7.30 volts). Furthermore, given the reserve capacity rating of this battery in comparison to the reserve capacity of an Alkaline "C" cell battery, we should get far more use time out of this battery. How much more? That can only be evaluated at a later date. As a side note -- WGI newest deer cam models have the capability of connecting a 6 volt battery pack, such as Amazons Wild Game Innovations External 6V Battery Pack. WGI uses a pair of batteries of comparable specifications to the UPG UB645 inside their battery pack.

I will update this posting as we monitor this battery's performance in the field. Preliminarily (2 days use), this battery is performing as expected.

The application this battery is now being used in, the size, being completely sealed from the elements and the current price, we are hard pressed to find fault with this purchase.

*****

9/2/2010 - Update

First field test with the deer cam over a 19 day time period in the woods and in wet conditions -- 237 pictures with approximately 85% being flash pictures. ALL flash pictures came out clear, no black pictures when the camera triggered and the battery couldn't supply enough power to charge the flash strobe. Voltage test in the field -- 5.99 volts under a minor load. We recharged the battery to 6.67 volts and placed this battery back into service with the deer cam in the woods. We are very pleased with this battery's performance.

*****

9/29/2010 - Update

28 days and 330 pictures (85% flash) in the field -- The camera was shut off when we retrieved it. The last 24 pictures were black, where the flash couldn't recharge due to the drop in battery voltage. The battery was drained down to 3.57 volts when it was brought back for recharging. After a slow 12 hour recharge, the battery was back up to 6.67 volts.

I cannot fault this battery. The drain came from the camera and the flash itself. Performance between "C" cell batteries and this one appear to be closely related with one major exception - the ability to recharge this battery, unlike the "C" cells that have to be replaced. We are going to monitor and recharge this battery more closely in the future. I'm disappointed in the prospect that this battery doesn't have the long term capacity to supply power to this deer camera over the long, cold Michigan winter.

*****

10/05/2010 - Final Update

We returned to this battery after 5 more days in the field. 150 pictures and all were perfect. The battery voltage was at 6.20 volts (80% flash pictures). Pulled the battery and recharged to 6.67 volts. One night, with overnight temperatures dropping to 22 degrees, we captured 250 flash pictures - all clear in full color. The battery voltage was at 6.0 volts. We recharged the battery and placed back into service.

We have now obtained a 9 volt solar panel charger for this battery. Our next trip up, this solar panel will be connected to our battery and camera. We anticipate this will give the battery a much needed boost in life over its long winter task.

In all, this battery performed as we expected. The cost savings in "C" cell battery's has now more than paid for itself.

*****

1/11/2011 -- Second battery

We have a second deer cam Wildgame Innovations IR5 5.0MP Digital Game Scouting Camera with Infrared Flash(see my review of this game cam) in the field now. It too is developing battery issues, especially with the flash at night. The batteries are "C" cell's and we are going through too many to be economically viable. So, just like its smaller cousin, we are hard wiring in this battery for increased performance and longevity in the field.

Buying a second similar battery for the very same purpose shows how happy we are with these batteries. The cost savings is also a big plus!

*****

7/2/2011 - Update

We purchased our third deer cam along with a third battery. The new camera is a 2011 S1.3X strobe deer camera with an external battery connection as sold by Amazon as Wildgame Innovations Game Scouting Camera with Video. Our first run with this new camera required the need for a higher power battery. Here it is.

All three batteries work great. All recharge fine and hold their charge for extended use. Even after hundreds of flash pictures every 30 seconds, all pictures come out. We couldn't be more pleased with these batteries performance. UPG UB645 Sealed Lead Acid Batteries

Good price for this battery that fits my portable inflater. The is really handy when camping & the battery lasted through one mattress, 2 inflatable kayaks, & a 10ft raft. Not bad for one charge.

Dr. Carl

Got a pair of these batteries for emergency power for a older short wave radio. Used a Deltran 021-0127 Battery 6-Volt charger to top the batteries up with a shop made wiring harness. Got everything working correctly. It wasn't but several days later we had the worst wind storm that took out power for 4 days. The radio, powered by just one of these batteries, operated continuously throughout the power outage. I know this wasn't a good test of the batteries capacity, but it proved it's worth operating a radio that is notorious for eating "D" cell batteries on a daily basis. Add a good 6 volt solar charger and one should be able to keep their SW comlink reciever going for quite a while with a pair of these batteries. - Coleman Lantern - Portable Power - Household Supplies - Lantern'

Rechargeable Batteries - battery, black and decker

This is the stock charger that comes with Black and Decker 12V drills. I've had one melt. The second one just stopped working. Black and Decker customer service is utterly unresponsive after multiple attempts. There's some indication that the Dewalt version of this, for $10 more, actually functions and fits the same battery. Black and Decker PS160 12 Volt Battery Charger #418352-01

Don't buy it and Amazon should not allow it sold on their site. It worked exactly one time. I was unable to return it. I was given the run around by the provider (bettervac). There are better options for a similiar price (B & D PS1MVC; I've also heard that the Dewalt DW9116 will charge B & D batteries).

I have not used this product as yet because the very valuable caution provided by the distributor. My previous charger had shorted out and

the caution furnished with the new charger prevented me from shorting out

the new charger. The caution? "Don't try to charge a dead battery, it will short out the charger."

I will now have to order a new battery or two.

This product is grossly under-engineered. If you make the slightest mistake the product will short out and become useless. This is what happened to me. I accidently put a bad battery in the charger and it shorted out and is now just a piece of junk. Oh wait, actually it was a piece of junk even before it shorted out.

Frankly, I'm surprised that Black and Decker still supplies these as replacements. I am now out $25+ with nothing to show for it. I will think long and hard before I buy another B&D product.

If I could rate this product lower than 1 I would.

This charger is a waste of your money..don't buy..up grade to the Black and Decker "PS1MVC" charger and you won't be sorry. Buy this and your just throwing your money away....Would have rated at zero stars but couldn't.

This item is not found in local stores. We were so happy to find this battery charger which is compatible to our older model wireless power tools. The first usage charged the battery just fine. The next time we went to plug the charger in and use it, it no longer worked. Very disappointing to spend money for one use only.

Do yourself a favour and buy the DeWalt DC9310 Heavy-Duty 7.2 Volt - 18 Volt 1 Hour Charger instead. It charges both the Black & Decker PS130 (12V) and PS140 14.4V) Firestorm batteries.

I've wasted money on 3 of these Black & Decker chargers and that doesn't include a free replacement on the charger that came with the set and stopped working on the second day. I thought I was doing something wrong all of this time - leaving the batteries charging too long and cooking the charger - until I read the reviews here. Seems like everyone has the same problem. Black & Decker should be ashamed of themselves and I will never buy one of their tools again - Rigid, Ryobi or DeWalt for me in future.

My 12V Firestorm set has been sitting in the basement collecting dust until my wife said she was going to throw them out and I thought I'd have one last go at salvaging it (as it cost about $160 when new). As I couldn't find the charger or batteries in the stores, I started looking on line and found that Black & Decker doesn't even support these models anymore (thanks for nothing, B&D !!) With the help of other reviews on Amazon, I eventually found (and bought) the DeWalt DC9310 charger and it's the best $30 I've spend in ages. Not only does it fit and fully charge the 12V Firestorm batteries, it fits and charges the 14.4V Firestorms as well.

Thank you, DeWalt. Thank you, Amazon reviewers. And stuff you, Black & Decker. - Charger - Cordless Drill - Battery - Black And Decker'

Ram Memory

No problems during the installation. Great Good looking, Uber Performance, no problems at all... 16Gb of ram for this price and with the heat protection... Just great!

highly recommended. 5 Stars.

Best with:

ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 (Motherboard)

intel Core i7 Processor i7-2600K (CPU) Corsair Memory Vengeance 16 Quad Channel Kit DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9

I don't know much about memory other than it installed fine and my computer booted on the first try. I do know it runs at 1333 in my board but I also know to get it to run faster I need to make the changes in the BIOS.

Edit 6/7/2011: I purchased RamDisk software and made a 12GB virtual disk with the remaining 4GB dedicated to the OS and the Graphics system. I do all my scratch work on the Ramdisk and the rendering is super fast. When transfering work from RamDisk to SSD the transfer speeds are amazing.

Not much to say other than these booted right up without problem. They are a great value for the amount of memory you get and theoretically the match performance should help out vs. buying separate sticks.'

Bath Toys - alex

This toy would be SOOO much beter if they gave you a bag that 1)was BIG enough-you have to really stuff it all in if you want it all in 2)CLUNG---ours never clung to the tub, even empty..it's really useless. Most of the pieces will cling to the tub, but some don't...Because there's no storage, they are all floating throughout the bath, making it difficult for a little one to find the piece she wants...It's a great idea, but could have several IMPROVEMENTS to make it a 5 star toy. Alex Pet Fashion in the Tub

I bought this from Amazon for my daughter's third birthday and she LOVES it! The first time we used it in the tub I had a hard time convincing her to get out of the tub, which is usually not a problem.

There are ALOT of cute accessories to dress up the dog or the cat, and a handy mesh bag to hang on the bath tub wall (suction cupped) to allow them to dry.

The pieces are much thinner then I expected them to be, which makes them seem flimsy, but they really need to be in order for then to stick to the wall and each other properly.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase, and will probably look for more Alex Bath toys in the future.

Both my 2 year old and my 5 year old enjoying playing with this little toy. They have lots of options for different outfits. The toy has also held up well for a bath toy and the mesh bag holder works well to keep everything together.

I bought this for my grandaughters 5th birthday and she just loves it, she has a 3 year old sister and they jump into the tub together and one gets the cat and the other the dog and you cannot get them out of the tub.

My daughter is not a dolly kind of girl and loves stuffed animals. This was the perfect toy for her for the tub. It has given endless amount of fun and creative story telling while in the tub. Highly recommend. Very pleased with this toy.

This is a great tub toy. Like any other tub toy, after a period of time mold will begin to grow. We had a set before this purchase, and they lasted about a year before I felt the need to throw them away. The pet fashion set has not captured my girls' interest nearly as much the doll fashion set, but of all the bath tub toys we have ever owned, the dress up dolls of any kind have been their favorite. - Alex'

Tools - drill bit sets, tools

Immagine my suprise when I opened the box to find one of the latches were already broken, and about 1/3 of the toold were rusty. The rusty tools were scattered randomly about the kit, some with a rust spot, others totaly covered in rust, and some perfectly clean. Overall the kit felt cheap and low quality. Unless you're looking for disposable tools, invest your money in somthing better. I was contacting Amazon for a refund before the UPS truck left my street. Denali Homeowner's Drill and Drive Bit Accessory Kit, 150-Piece

I have to write a review about this because of how disappointed (upset actually) I am with this item. To put it in plain simple words this is a piece of crap. Half the parts broke within the first minutes of usage: drill bits broke or wore off within minutes. Screw bits broke so easily I thought it was a joke. Totally worthless. If i could give no starts I would.

Save your money and stay away from this.

This is a huge collection for the do it yourself types. Its not contractor quality by any means, but its not junk and you are getting a great deal for the money. Having the right size and right tip all in one place is a huge time saver. Add cordless drill & you will be fixing up a storm!! I have used it a while, and bought one as a gift i liked it so much. Drills are not dull and tips are not soft. Selection is its strongest point. you will find most everything.

When I opened it looks very nice and organized, its hatrd to find this kind of mixture, Just what I need at the time but when I start using the bits, just the very fisrt time i broke 2 of them, inserting a screw in wood, i use 1 time the drill bit for door lock, and it take me a while to make the hole, very bad quality. I finally returned the item to Amazon.

They aren't the greatest quality tools but what you get for the price is amazing. I got it a huge discount with an online coupon ($25) but for the regular price it is still a very good deal. In the past couple of years, I have used almost every type of tool included in this set.

Great selection including duplicates for the fragile drill bits and a good selection of quick release bits. The case could be a bit thinner but having all the bits organized in one place is worth the size.

Not top notch quality, but there is a large selection and it was under $20. Good for small home projects. Some of mine came rusted, I never went through the trouble of contacting the manufacturer because the price was so low.

This is a great little set that contains most everything a do it yourselfer would need around the house for small projects. Quality of bits seems to be pretty good, bits are pulling their weight and not breaking during use. Case has plastic molded flaps to close it which I'm sure over time will break semi easily, but that is the only downfall I see with this set.

This is a good value for someone who wants to save a few bucks and have everything you need. Comes with the case and drawer for your parts and all. I reccommend this to first time homeowners to the pros. - Drill Bit Sets - Tools - Bits - Power Tool Accessories'

Powerlifting - weight training, fitness

Eric Cressey knows how to get people bigger and stronger, period. I got to do the Maximum Strength Program last summer and during that time I had my 1RM deadlift go from 275 to 400lbs in four months. I am more mobile than ever and I am no longer in pain (used to be low back). I now have great posture and have built a great base of strength.

This book outlines the four phases with multistep pictures of the exercises (both strength training and mobility/warm-up). Also there is a nice section dedicated towards nutrition as well.

Eric is 110% correct when he says you need to get stronger to get bigger. If you have stalled with your progress and want to get bigger and stronger, there is no better way then with Maximum Strength, for under $15 you can not go wrong. Maximum Strength: Get Your Strongest Body in 16 Weeks with the Ultimate Weight-Training Program

This book is a must-read. I heard a lot of hype about this book before purchasing, and I'm glad I finally bought it. I did the entire 4 month routine and honestly, my body feels better than it ever has in the past.

I was used to the traditional bodybuilding bodypart split of chest on Monday, legs on Tuesday, Arms on Wednesday, etc etc. For years, I just accepted that this was the way to train your body. I just dealt with back pain and shoulder pain as part of the "price of working out." Doing 5 exercises for your back in one day, and 5 exercises for your shoulders in one day is the absolute wrong way to train your body, unless you are an actual bodybuilder, but for the average fitness enthusiast, that just doesn't apply.

Eric's book outlines splitting your routines into upper body days and lower body days. The routines are easy to follow. Full detailed pictures, and explanations. One of the most important things he advocates is varying the rep range each week within the 4 week routine. You probably never have done any exercise of 8 sets of 2 reps or 10 sets of 3 reps. You have to keep in mind Eric is a Strength & Conditioning Coach with the goal of getting you stronger. I was hesitant, but you have to open your mind and try it.

My body feels stronger, and more balanced. There are a few non-traditional exercises that you probably have never heard of, or are hesitant to try out. My advice would be to do everything in the book to a T. It works. You may be reluctant to do so much deadlifting and squatting. You may have never hear of scapular push ups, walls slides, face pulls, or behind the neck band pull aparts. Open your mind. Follow the routines exactly and you will be glad you did. I know I am. Your body will feel so much stronger, more balanced, and your posture improves. I hope this doesn't sound like a 3 a.m info-mercial testimonial for the latest fitness product, because it's not. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Gym Rat who has been lifting for 11 years. Open your mind, try the routines, follow to a T. Your body will thank you.

Eric Cressey delivers on his promise to get you stronger in 16 weeks. I know because as a former client I completed the Maximum Strength program and posted personal bests in all of my lifts. Which lifts? The ones that matter, that show true strength. Completing Maximum Strength, I would have been pleased if only my bench press numbers increased, and they did, but so did my deadlift, squat, and chin-up (my broad jump increased, too).

The 16-week program is not the only reason to buy "Maximum Strength." Eric does a phenomenal job of showing how to perform each exercise correctly, which a) eliminated bad habits I picked up in the past and b) keeps me injury free.

It's the old story of teaching the man how to fish: Eric provides a program that increases strength and sets a path to continue getting stronger after those 16 weeks. If you're serious about strength training, you need to read "Maximum Strength."

In Eric's introduction to this book, he describes his aspiration to be strong and fit, but not huge. The introduction alone is worth the price of the book. This is a man that deadlifted 650 lbs in competition at a body weight of 181. He knows how to get people strong, yet keep them healthy. His entire program is designed to progress in power, speed and absolute strength while addressing many commonly flawed movement patterns.

I'm a 47 year old male that has begun to find it difficult to move without pain and stiffness. I am now 9 weeks into the 16 week program and I have progressed to the point were my passive ROM in my joints has improved as well as my mobility. I haven't benched in 4 years due to shoulder pain and had all but conceded that I would never again be able to, but I'm now benching without pain. I just can't say enough positive things about this book and for the price is a steal.

A fine treatise on the fundamentals of strength. It is precise, well researched and innovative. Also, I really liked the voice of the book....casual and humorous but informative.

This guy is close to genius on the subject. A free thinker that backs his theorys with science. He draws heavily on research and builds his program from the fundamentals. That combination together with the innovative style makes a unique approach plausible and possibly the bible on the subject.

A great holistic approach to increasing strength. You get warm-ups with foam roller and mobility exercises, 4 day a week upper/lower body split routine, nutrition suggestions and even a chapter on the "muscle between your ears". I plan on finishing the 16 week routine by end of October and then repeating it next February.

I have a library of lifting and fitness books. You name it I have it.

This is the best book that I've seen in a long time. When I was a beginner and had no clue there may have been some books that added more immediate value, but for those people that have done some lifting and want to do it right, and make some serious improvements, THIS IS THE BOOK.

The explanations are great, as are the illustrations. I judge my purchases on whether it was worth my money, and this definitely gets 5 stars. - Fitness - Strength - Deadlift - Weight Training'

Concrete Countertop Tools - concrete, polisher

I love this polisher!! Mine came with a great rigid carry case too. This polisher is easy to handle, and the variable speed and water feed are fantastic. I've polished some beautiful concrete countertops with it, and I love it. The long cord with gfi is a definite plus, and cleaning the tool is convenient. I haven't had any problems to note here, i'm just very satisfied with such a great polisher at a reasonable price.
