Battery Maintainer - automatic battery charger, boat

I am fortunate enough to maintain two houses - one in the mid-West for the summer and a second one in the Palm Springs area for the winter. Rather than drive 1500 miles each way I have a couple of cars in each location so each set will sit idle for six months of the year which means I usually have two dead batteries when I arrive for the season. I tried a cheaper brand of trickle charger in the desert last year and it worked but I was afraid that if it burned out I would still return to dead batteries. I really like the quality of the Schumacher products having two of their multifunction battery chargers that have worked well for over 10 years. When I saw that they offered high quality trickle chargers I bought two of them to make the switch to worry free charging. The chargers are well built and heavy for their size and the build quality is typical Schumacher. The chargers are intended to be installed in the engine compartment with battery connections that are permanently connected to the charger and for power a short plug comes out of the side of the unit and is easily connected to a grounded extension cord. I really didn't want to install these under the hood even though they supply the mounting brackets and screws required but I did like the idea of the permanent connection to the battery as opposed to a clamp which could fall off in the middle of the season and leave me with a dead battery. Remembering how the chargers connected in the Power Wheels toys my sons had several years ago, I was able to find polarity keyed plug connectors in the trailer wiring section of the local auto parts store and now have a short pigtail permanently connected to the battery and the ability to plug and unplug it into the charger when I want. Now I have the best of all worlds, the security of a solid connection to the battery and the flexibility of being able to plug and unplug the charger with ease. I like this a lot. Schumacher SE-1-12S Fully Automatic Onboard Battery Charger - 1.5 Amps

I installed this in one of my SUV's that is not driven for weeks at a time.

The Schumacher unit keeps a perfect charge and does not overheat or dry out the battery. The clock, radio, and GPS settings are all preserved and the charger does not seem to draw much power when the battery is charged. I am very satisfied with the operation of the unit.

The installation was a breeze with the included hardware and the instructions were clear and easy.

I do have two small complaints, however:

(1) The battery lugs were way too big for my vehicle and all other cars that I checked.

(2) The AC plug is too short to run anywhere. I wanted the plug to reach to just outside the vehicle's grill, so that the unit could be plugged in without opening the hood. I had to install an extra extension cord for that purpose.

Works great to keep your battery topped off on cold winter nights, and for days of long storage. Instead of dragging out your conventional charger and cables, then putting everything away when finished! Just mount this small unit under your hood, plug in a small AC extension cord, and close the hood. (not affecting alarm operation). It can charge a dead battery (not recommended) but it can take 24 to 36 hours.

I had a problem. A very bad car accident left me partially disabled. So these days I do very little driving. Just getting to and from the store and that's about it.

The problem I had is that I seldom drove long enough or far enough to fully charge my car battery, and on more than one occasion I'd get in it to go somewhere and the battery would be dead.

I've used a number of trickle chargers in the past. But there's the problem of digging them out and unhooking them when the battery is ready.

This charger, however, has been perfect for me and my situation. It's mounted permanently under the hood so I always know where it is. It charges the battery fully then shuts itself off. I can leave it plugged in for weeks and it shuts itself off automatically. When I'm ready to use the car, I unplug it and go. When I park the car in the garage for what always turns out to be extended periods, I plug it in and on my next trip the battery has a full charge. My days of getting into the car only to discover the battery died are over.

If your situation is similar, or if you own a vehicle that only gets occasional use, like a truck for errands or an RV, this could be the thing for you.

Good product. 4 stars b/c the manual is misleading. There is a table that tells you what the lights mean, but it is hard to understand. I'll translate: If top light is green and bottom if off, the battery is charging. If the top light is green and the bottom light is red, you battery is charged. If the top light is off, then the unit isn't getting power from the wall. Funny how this crucial info is so messed up in the instructions. Happy charging!

This is the second unit I have purchased. I had this hardwired in my 1983 Porsche for 10 years and it always kept my battery in top condition, I just bought a Ferrari and one of the first things I did was buy this and install it.This is a must have if you have a weekend only car.

i purchased this charger for my boat motor, because my battery usually goes dead from not using it enough. my boat already has one on my trolling motor battery. i am not sure of the brand name, but it is compact, and very quiet. the schumacher charger is noisy, and i mounted it with the brackets recomended to use. the problem with this is the plastic on the charger has already cracked using there required brackets. i would deffinately recomend shopping for a more compact, and quiter charger.

I bought this to maintain a battery in a "farm truck" and it has worked perfectly for 2 years and still going strong. This is kept under the hood, with the power cable sticking out from the grille and is constantly subjected to moisture, extreme heat and dirt, and keeps on happily charging. Built extremely well.

Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a cheap, maintenance(READ: Trickle) charger. It's definitely not going to jumpstart a dead battery, but it's not made to do so. - Battery Chargers - Automatic Battery Charger - Battery Maintainer - Boat'

Hd Projector - bright, home theater

I purchased this projector earlier in January directly from Benq. Upon initial physical inspection I'd say this is a large projector, a little plasticky and funky looking with a mostly black box a dark purple shinny insert and the unneserarily oversized lense attachment for zoom/focus....ok now for the real disapointment..as previously reviewed everywhere you need to spend a bit of time 3:30 hrs in my case to dial in all the colors properly...once that is done..."WOW" what a beautiful picture, in one word "Awesome", when compared with the LCD it was replacing. At once I noticed the LOUD fan noise..this unit sits directly above the front row of seats which is "my sweet spot", not to mention the misterious BUZZ sound that I identified as the Dinamyc Iris....Yes everytime the picture fades to black or dark scenes...ZZIIIPPPP...I found out the way to get rid of this distraction was turning dinamyc black off doing this affected the black levels and the pop factor in the picture, however not in a major way....but still... I could not enjoy a quiet night movie with all that racket!..my honest opinion is that for $2500.00 even though the picture was great, it is not worth the annoyance cause by it's noisy behaviour...so back to benq it went. I would find it hard to recommend this projector based solely on it's picture quality...there is more to a good projector than that....in my opinion. BenQ W6000 1080p DLP Projector

If you are in a situation where you have ambient light, or a large screen to fill this projector fits the bill. The important part is the six segment color wheel. A lot of DLP projectors with this type of light output will cheat and use a seven segment wheel. The Seventh segment is white. That increases the brightness but washes out the colors and ruins the contrast. Those that are sensitive to DLP "Rainbows" will be very happy with the image quality.

The projector supports vertical and horizontal lens shifting (critical for properly aligning the picture to the screen), however it's a manual stick on the front of the project. Zoom and focus are also manual by moving two large rings around the lens. The build quality of the case is middle of the road, which is fine for fixed installation, but I wouldn't recommend traveling with it. Given the price point of thousands less than competing projectors those are fair compromises.

The W6000 has some of the highest ratings in a home theater projector under $5,000 and delivers a super bright, high contrast picture. It has 2500 lumens compared with most projectors in this price range with 1000 to 1600. It's big, heavy, it has a formidable lens and delivers an excellent picture in any lighting. If you are considering the Panasonic PTAE4000U or Epson 8500UB, this projector is definitely in that class but is far superior in brightness. For a screen size greater than 120" and with any level of ambient lighting, this is undoubtedly the best overall projector for the money.

We have owned an Optoma 1080p for two years before purchasing the W6000. We project on a gray wall with a screen size larger than 120 inches, ceiling mount. We use it for watching movies and playing PS3 games. The BenQ blows the Optoma away with crisp brightness yet no rainbows or loss of blacks (gotta love dlp). Also virtually no aliasing. There is considerable set-up time if you are really picky about colors and contrast - but at least you have the choice. The fan noise was unnoticeable especially compared to the Optoma...I was afraid it wasn't working correctly at first. Much cooler, much quieter, better picture = worth the price.

Additional note: We have become a house divided...I like the Benq handling of motion, but my 28 year old son does not. We both agree that it is crisper, brighter and quieter than the Optoma but we are going to begin looking for a different projector that we both can love.

Resolved! The motion problems were a result of a setting on the PS3. For games the motion was normal but for movies it was strange...not blurry, but odd. We changed a setting on the PS3 from 24 frames to 60 Hz(?)and now everyone agrees that this projector is perfect.

I've been using a front projection setup for several years now, starting with a serendipitous purchase of an NEC LT150 that was a "price mistake" find. After getting it and figuring out how to mount it, put up a screen and run cables in the ceiling with a friend's help, I've been hooked on the true theater type experience that a projector provides. It was a dim, loud, business class projector but still a thrill to have a 100" picture. I upgraded over the years to a brighter NEC business projector, then finally entered real home theater projector land with a 1080p Optoma HD80. At the time, the HD80 was one of the best bang for the buck projectors ever made, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. One of the things that bugged me with the NEC business projectors was the dreaded DLP "rainbow effect", and with the HD80 that was minimized enough that it never really bothered me. I'm fairly sensitive to it, apparently, and could force myself to see it on the HD80 but only by unnatural things like shaking my head.

Unfortunately after 2 1/2 years the HD80 died, and I decided to look around for new models since 1080p has become the standard, and less of a premium feature. The Benq W6000 was high on my radar because it's one of the very few moderate priced DLP models that includes lens shift. Its brightness is another attribute I liked since I have a "living room HT" without full light control, and the extra brightness is great for those afternoon football games. I ended up buying an Epson 8100 LCD unit locally, and the W6000 here, and compared them (eventually adding a Sony SXRD model to the mix to hit all 3 major projector technologies). The Benq lived up to its billing, producing a very bright, dynamic picture. After some tweaks to the initial base settings, I was pretty happy with the overall picture, colors, black level etc. As another reviewer noted, Dynamic Black seemed to cause a little too much iris noise so I also turned it off, and didn't notice much difference in the overall picture. But one problem came back... rainbows. The color wheel is actually only a 4x speed, as opposed to the 6x speed that the HD80 used. In addition, extra brightness seems to make ANYTHING more noticeable, rainbows included. After a couple of weeks, I just couldn't live with it and ended up returning it. If you're not sensitive to this artifact, the W6000 is a fantastic projector. I really, really wanted it to work for me but ended up paying more for the SXRD unit (Sony VPL-HW15). (I wasn't overly impressed with the Epson 8100, though it's a lower priced model so not a really fair comparison - I wish I'd been able to find an 8500 to try instead.) - Home Theater - Bright - Dlp Projectors - Hd Projector'

Pashmina Shawl

There were a couple of flaws in my scarf: a bit of seam that was torn, and a spot where the glue for the tag pulled the fabric. Nevertheless, the gray color is really lovely, and the fabric is soft with a nice shine. For the price, I would say it is a darn good deal. New Best Soft Pashmina/Shawl/Scarf/Wrap/Stole (black)

While it's not a designer scarf, it is better quality than what I would have expected for the cost. It's comfortable, sturdy, and good sized. The color (camel) is nice. Shipping was incredibly quick, and it got here almost faster than I'd expected. In short, I'll likely order more of the same scarves in various colors.

I purchased 2 pashminas from 2 different suppliers. One was this bubble 2-layer gauze-like pashima that I returned today from Sakas. I hated it.

But this one, which was just $8.50 is awesome!

One review says she knows what real pashmina cashmere feels like - well I question her judgement. While it may not be "thick" it is not sheer, and it is oh so warm. When you put it on, it's almost like wrapping yourself in an electric blanket. Within a minute or two, you feel your own body heat warming you. This is the true test of a real cashmere, or wool, etc. - it holds your body temperature in.

And soft! OMG, how wonderful it feels to the touch. NO way it is acrylic or rayon.

And for the price - what a great value. If I had not seen these online, and saw this in a store for say, $25, I would still think it was a steal.

I bought a black one, and I wish I had bought more, in a few other colors.

I saw where one bride-to-be bought them to give away as gifts in case it got cold. What a great idea. No one would suspect you paid less than $10 for this lovely product. Seriously! I absolutely love mine! Not sure where all these bad reviews come from. I can't image anyone would be dissappointed after spending so little, on something so soft, and warm.

I wish I could find a queen-size blanket made out of this stuff! I would never get out of bed.

I have this pashmina in yellow, turquoise, purple, gray and my burgundy one is on the way! I love these pashminas so much! They're even better quality than the ones I've seen that are five times the price! I just keep ordering more and more. I bought them as Christmas gifts for a lot of women on my shopping list. Big hit. The girls in my office are now buying them also. You cannot beat the quality and price.

The scarves are almost paper thin, especially the white, but that would be acceptable if they were really CASHMERE as it seems from the listing. I have read elsewhere that most of the time Pashmina is not actually cashmere, but Acrylic. So they are misleading their customers into buying something that is not as it seems. I personally have become very familiar with the feel of cashmere and this is NOT cashmere. Additionally, it is ILLEGAL to mark a product as "Pashmina" when it is acrylic; it is a consumer protection law to prevent consumers from buying a misleading product. These scarves provide a fraction of the warmth a true cashmere scarf would provide. Shameful.

This was a gift for a friend. I ordered it in silver. The color is very lovely (it's a dark silvery gray) and matched the picture. I thought that it would be a bit softer, but it seems as though it will feel better with more use. Looks great!

For the price, a great product.

I was super impressed with the quality of this scarf!! I will definitely be purchasing more in different colors soon! My only complaint was the cost of shipping and the delay of receiving the scarf itself. I placed the order on Oct. 9th and just received the order today (Oct.25th). I did get half of the shipping cost refunded, so I felt that it was fair. Overall, a good transaction =)

I picked this wrap out for my wedding and am glad I did, it really is gorgeous. I absolutely love the texture and the size of this wrap. It will go perfect with my dress and looks like it's going to last me a couple years down the road. It was well worth the money spent on it, and I may end up buying a couple more in different colors down the road. It looked like it would be great for both the winter and the spring so will definitley be one of the new pieces in my closet that I will be raving about for months to come.

I needed an extra something to add to my bridesmaid swag bags and this fit the bill. They came in so many colors it was hard to pick which one could offset the dresses the best. Shipping was quick. They arrived in under a week. The pashminas are soft and light. Perfect for a summer night or a fall/spring scarf. They are not too thin to embroider either. I took them to a local company and added initials. The girls were thrilled with the finished product and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Overall good quality, remarkable value. The only thing I'm sad about is that I didn't get one for myself. I'll definitely order again.'

Garmin Nuvi 255w - car charger, garmin

When I purchased a Nuvi 760 this item was shown as frequently purchased with it. Unfortunately it is not compatable and cost me to return as it was my error. Power connections were not visable so how is a person to know if the adapter will work with the GPS? Guess you learn the hard way. Garmin nĂ¼vi Vehicle Power Cable

So far, this charger has worked fine. Just want to clarify, though:

You don't need to order this separately, at least not if you order a Nuvi 350. The 350 comes with the car charger, AC charger, leather case, dash mount, and windshield mount. Don't order this unless you want two for some reason. Many of the accessories shown on the GPS unit product page are already included.

This accessory is part of the original package when you buy the Garmin Nuvi navigator. You also get the windshield mount, a leather envelope for the unit, and an AC charger. Don't buy any accessories at the time of purchasing the unit. I bought this knowing I wanted and needed it and ended up with two and had to pay for return postage when I returned it because it was "My Fault" I couldn't use it. You only need this if your original one wears out or if you want to have multiple vehicles completely equipped. The product itself is excellent and keeps the navigation unit power from being depleted while using in the car.

This adapter is actually better than the one that came with the GPS. Whereas the original adapter was somewhat flimsy; this one is more durable and the top does not come off in the power outlet. Great buy!!!

You do not need to buy this charger for the Nuvi 660. The 660 comes with a charger that connects through the mount adaptor, not directly to the 660. This works on a Nuvi 660 to supply power, but it will not charge the battery.

I purchased this item only because other reviews said it was necessary. The perceived problem was that the adapter included with the Nuvi 350 was not substantial and that it broke easily. In fact, this is the very same DC adapter that came with the unit. This accessory is not required.

This is the vehicle charger recommended on the amazon.com Garmin Nuvi 660 product page, but it is not the correct model for it. Get the Garmin vehicle charger (model # 010-10747-03) instead -- also available here at amazon.com through this link: Garmin 12-Volt Vehicle DC Power Adapter for the StreetPilot C510 and C550 (010-10747-03).

I had this as it came with my nuvi 350. Worked fine for a few months and then one day the plastic tip broke off. Appears the heat stress got to it and it breaks very easily. Friend with an identical unit did the same thing.

Fortunately mine was still under warranty and Garmin replaced it at no cost. The replacement appears to be MUCH better than original one. The tip is all metal now and not prone to breakage like the other one.

This product works perfectly well but I still wish I hadn't bought it. I couldn't tell from the Amazon description if the car power cable came with the Garmin Nuvi I was buying. So, I bought the Garmin AND a power cable separately. The cable came before the Garmin and I opened it. Then the Garmin came and there was a cable in the box.

Although my Garmin Nuvi 360 came with the vehicle power cable, I purchased this to keep in my second car. Now, I don't have to remember to take the cable from vehicle to vehicle. I find the extra cord to be a great convenience. - Garmin Nuvi 350 - Garmin - Charger - Car Charger'

Exercise Pants - exercise pants, american apparel

So I am partial to ordering pants online since I am quite short (5'3") and I have been longing for a new pair of yoga pants. I have used my Everlast yoga pants to it's full life and it has started to fade so when I finally found these online I was anticipating that I would hate it since pants never seem to fit me. Well I just received them today and I am in LOVE. I will buy more pairs for sure and I hope they never stop making them. They are perfect to wear at home, school, gym, sleeping, or even going out. They have a perfect fit and they are sooooo comfortable. My old yoga pants were more on the spandex-y side but this one does not have the spandex feel but it looks fittingly amazing! I got them in black but I will be sure to buy more colors and maybe even more pairs of black for the future!!! American Made Apparel Women's Stretch Cotton Yoga Pant - Black 8300 M

I was a little bit concern ordering them online since I tend to be quite picky when I buy pants for myself and it was the first time ordering aparel from amazon.com. However, I've got them today, at less than a week after I placed the order, and I LOVE THEM!!! This pair of pants looks and feels great. THANK YOU, Andrew Christian!

I ordered these pants and received them in just a few days. They are very comfortable -- I'm already planning to order more! Do keep in mind that they run on the small side...I wear a small in most other pants, but ordered a medium after reading other reviews, and the medium fits perfectly.

I ordered these yoga pants for a gift. after i placed the order, the person notified me she had told me the wrong size. the first order came to me in amazing time. i sent them back and got my 2nd order just as quick. everything was handled wonderfully. i am very impressed w/this ordering site and will purchase items in the future...........good job!!!!!!

I like the pants though as others have said they run a tad small. However, the sizing chart and description say they will have a 32-34 inch inseam, the pair I received has a 38" inseam!! If I were a fashion model who was 6 feet tall I'd be thrilled! Well, I'm neither one. Sorry Christian, I'll have to return these!

I read all of these reviews prior to purchasing. There all all correct in their own way. Although the one customer was complaining about the pants being long - that was true for the pair I had recieved. That was great though! I am that 6 ft tall female. Okay, maybe only 5'8" but I'm still all legs. And the sizes do run very small. I usually wear large yoga pants but the XL fits awesome. So be sure to order a size larger that usual and expect to have long pants.

I have been looking for yoga pants in my size for a few months now and I have been to several stores but got nothing that I liked. I just got my order and these pants are just FABULOUS! I love the cut and fit. And the measuring chart worked perfectly. I'm going to buy some more of these!

I ordered one pair of these just to test them before I bought more. They arrived today and I have already ordered two more! They are a lovely lightweight stretch jersey material that is super comfortable. They do fit quite snuggly so order up a size as others have suggested. I am six feet tall and have a 34 inch inseam with flats and these are the perfect length. I also love that they are not low rise as are most other yoga pants. The waistband is a very generous (over six inches) width so you can fold down for less coverage, or leave as is for more coverage. I ordered the heather gray color and it provides nice coverage as to panty pattern/color but there is VPL so keep that in mind if you're wearing these in public. I also washed (warm water) and dried (regular heat) these before wearing and had no shrinkage issues that other reviewers have suggested might happen. All in all I am incredibly pleased! These are my new "go to" pant to wear around the house and yard.

Update: I did have one of the three pants I purchased shrink a tiny bit in length, maybe one inch. They are still perfectly fine and still a good length to wear with sneakers, but I wanted to update with my experience.

The pants are very comfortable and the material is definitely thick enough to do yoga/exercise. What I particularly appreciate is the length. My inseam is ~29" so the XS was perfect...especially for petites like me! I was having trouble finding pants with the right length and fit, so I would highly recommend these pants :) - Exercise Pants - Leggings - Active Pants - American Apparel'
