Coen Brothers - the dude, coen brothers

"What words can be used to describe the epicness of this mirror? Whether you just need a quick pick me up, or need to check the 'stache to make sure you don't have any white Russian in it, this is the mirror for you! Excellent quality, packed and shipped well. The seller is definitely a Lebowski achiever... are you?" The Big Lebowski - TIME - Man of the Year Mirror

I bought this for my fiance because he's a huge Big Lebowski fan. It came as described and he loved it. The frame is plastic and the mirror is great. I would recommend this to anyone who likes The Big Lebowski.

A well done knockoff. I'm sure that it could be made for a lot cheaper than $44.99 but for those of us like myself, I'd rather have someone else do it. If you've got some artistic skill, a picture frame, mirror, and some lettering, you could make your own for much less. With all that said, a job well done making this by the seller.

One of the best prop replicas I've ever gotten, especially for such an obscure one, only on screen for a few seconds. Great quality, great gift. Also, has a stand on the back, so it's sitting on my desk, instead of hanging up. Bonus. - The Dude - Jeff Bridges - Mirror - Coen Brothers'

Impact Drivers - hand tools, impact drivers

This is my third attempt at owning a compact drill/driver kit--I've owned the Bosch 10.8V and Milwaukee M12 combo kits previously and borrowed my tile setters Makita 10.8v kit, with the cool anvil type case, on lots of jobs. The Bosch and Makita have their place, but not in my lineup and the Milwaukee disappointed me so badly, I have realized they are not the manufactured they used to be, and I will most likely never buy a new Milwaukee tool again.

When I bought my first compact kit, I was hoping to find a drill that was light, easy on the shoulder (if you've ever tried to use an 18v XRP drill with a fully extended arm and your older than 24, you know what I'm saying) and small enough to navigate in tight places. I needed a drill for doing trim outs, removing appliances, installing fixtures and just general light duty work.

The problem a professional contractor will soon discover, these small drivers/impactors are so convenient and easy to use; you will start pushing them to their limit quickly and get frustrated with the lack of power.

The key to being successful with one of the small kits, you have to recognize they will not and cannot compete with the 18v tools, and none of the compact driver kits I have owned will drive 3" screws successfully (I typically screw my framing on small remodels and basement build outs, so I have a bit of experience here).

This DeWalt kit has the best power and balance combination of the kits I've used. It will not fit into as tight of a spot as the Bosch and Makita, but it has the minimum power this contractor can live with.

I have used the DeWalt on two jobs this month.

I installed new kitchen cabinets (20 boxes) and absolutely enjoyed using the impact driver for driving the wall screws and the drill for the drilling and screwing the boxes together, and I'm absolutely positive, using the drill to install the hardware will be a joy.

Also, I just completed the demo and electrical rough in on a small remodel and I found myself reaching for the 12v more than the 18v.

My only real complaint, there is no bit storage on the tool. You don't realize what you've got till it's gone :)

You won't use these for framing, and cant drill tile and concrete or set Tapcons(no rotohammer setting), but for lighter work, this set is awesome.

Quick charge time, descent power and compact design gives this tool a permanent spot in my tool trailer.

This DeWalt kit is the best of what I've owned and used to date. DEWALT DCK211S2 12-Volt Max Drill/Driver / Impact Driver Combo Kit

Pros:

- compact, short, lightweight = a joy to use

- slim handle is great for smaller hands (e.g. women, kids)

- one-handed chuck uses all types of bits

- good high end speed for drilling

- well balanced

- stands upright; belt hook

- comes with an impact wrench

- excellent battery life between uses

- relatively inexpensive for additional battery packs (30 USD)

- powerful enough for 98% of my drilling/driving needs

- UPDATE: 90 day money back guarantee (which I ended up using)

Cons:

- LED lighting isn't as good as the hex chuck version of this drill

- the one handed chuck adds length as compared to the hex chuck version of this drill

- not cheap (but worth the price I think)

- UPDATE: the impact wrench failed after light use

Dewalt was little late in releasing their compact driver drills (Bosch has had one for years), but they really set themselves apart for the rest with this one.

I think this category of drill is perfect for most homeowners. Bosch, Porter-Cable, Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, and others all make ultra compact 12V lithium ion driver/drills. They are all a vast improvement over previous options because:

1) Lightweight: e.g. drilling over you head to hang pictures

2) Lithium Ion Batteries: don't lose as much charge between uses

3) Compact: can fit your drill in tight places

All manufacturers except Dewalt put the battery in the handle which makes for a beefy handle and an off balance drill. Dewalt puts the battery at the bottom which balances the drill and allows it to have a more ergonomic grip. My wife tried some of the other drills with the battery in the handle and found them awkward to hold because of the size of the grip. She loves this one.

The combination of a lightweight drill with a slim grip makes this the perfect drill for many women. Even my kids can use it. My wife hates my Porter Cable 14.4 volt NiCad because it is so darn heavy that she has to use two hands and almost throws out her back doing it. Now my doesn't have to ask me to do the drilling because she can do it herself comfortably.

Dewalt is a great choice for drill to have around the house that every one can use.

UPDATE: After using the impact wrench to drive about 20 lag screws into wood, it stopped working. It started making an even louder racket and lost all torque. I couldn't drive anything with it. Luckily, Dewalt has a 90 day satisfaction guarantee so I returned the set. I could have sent it in for repair, but am thinking I will re-buy the drill only. I didn't find the impact wrench as useful. Since it has no clutch, it is hard to know if you are exerting the right amount of force on the screws. The drill was awesome though, so I definitely want that around. I deducted one star for the impact wrench.

I was trying to decide between HD's Ridgid R9004N Drill/Impact driver set and the new DeWalt 12V DCK211S2 Drill/Impact driver set for my own home DIY'er use. I like both brands for their reputation, but I was pretty much set on the Ridgid due to the lifetime warranty. That is until I decided to head on down to the local HD to try them before buying (my HD has a setup with all the drills out where you can run screws into a 4x10).

Both the DeWalt 12V Impact driver and Drill could run a 3" screw into the board with power to spare. The grips were very comfortable, and the tools were well balanced. And the impact driver was simply amazing. Why had I never owned one of these before?

The Ridgid was not as comfortable, though felt bulkier due to a fatter handle, somewhat top heavy, and was far weaker than the DeWalt. The drill only managed to run the screw about 2/3 of the way in and then stop, shutting itself off. I tried again. It turned maybe once then stopped. Again I tried. It turned a bit then stopped. This time there was some smoke rolling off the motor.

Well, needless to say, I know why DeWalt doesn't need a warranty like Ridgid's. I bought the DeWalt, and it was 10% cheaper on AZ than at HD!!! - Impact Drivers - Combo Packs - Hand Tools - Lightweight'

Portable Workbench - miter saw stands, cool tool

Of all the stands we have used and still use, our top cabinet makers prefer the New And Improved PM7000 total work station. When setting up for cabinet, door, window, trim installs this unit can stay put on any job site. It's heavy enough for even the best oak trim jobs and other heavy long wood cutting. On any busy work site this stand is heavy enough that it will not tip over! Designed to take any job site punishment!!

The multiple tooling base pairs are also very affordable (we paid $20 for each extra set) and easy to mount on just about any heavy shop or field tool you have in your wood working arsenal!

No other stand offers the type of versatility and stability that we have found. From the quick connects down to the triple roller support. Setting up our porta plane gets us fast safe boards every time. The lighting station helps in any low level light environment and can be fitted with L.E.D. bulbs for an even safer work area. The handy vise attachment has enough bulk to hold just about anything you need to clamp down.

We fitted a universal duel wheel mount on the other end so sliding the stand into our cargo trailers made it very nice with a tri-wheel setup; this was the only modification we made on the 4 PM7000 stands we own.

If you're looking for a rugged well built miter saw station this is one you won't go wrong with! Keep in mind that others that know little or nothing about how to use these stands can't give an honest opinion, so ignore those reviews.

One final note: There is no cheap plastic on this stand and the primary wheel is made of nylon... not plastic... Most users do not know how to put the stand together or get in a hurry doing it. The power strip is also of high quality as well and comes in very handy for lower amp hand tools like... you name it!! The addon wheel package is available thru "discountsurplususa dot com" See all 3 of our customer images above in the product over view and image areas! convert your HTC PM7000 into a Tri-Wheel unit!

UPDATE:11/23/2007. Well just about a year L8R and still works like new! Our dewalts are all but gone or broken now.... This product has stood the test of time for our usage!! BTW Get the wheel setup! What a back saver!!! HTC PM7000 Portamate Miter Saw & Power Tool Work Center

I recently purchased the DeWalt 718 sliding compound miter saw and needed a stand. My friend purchased the DeWalt saw stand for his saw, but I did not feel like the price reflected the value of the stand. I own several DeWalt tools and know their quality, but the saw stand left me wanting. If I needed to pay over $200 for a quality saw stand, it better have more than just someone's logo on it justify the purchase. I researched what seemed like every stand made that I could find. I found the PM7000. Granted this stand's standard cost is usually more than the DeWalt stand, but this is more than twice the stand! However, Amazon ran a great holiday sale in December 2006 and I was able to purchase this stand [cost + shipping = $177.00]. This is almost $50 dollars cheaper than DeWalts stand, but twice the value and versatility!

This stand had more features and is definitely more versatile than the DeWalt. From the general features, I would even give it 50/50 odds that Portamate makes the DeWalt stand [but that is just my own speculation]. However, if this is the case, they saved the best for themselves. This stands includes a large 8" dia. wheel for mobilization. This will allow you to move it to multiple locations at a project site easily if you desire. The PM7000 also has a built in power strip which is extrememly convenient. The PM7000 has 3 adjustable material supports with integral stops similar to the DeWalt's [which only gives you 2] but takes it a step further. The PM7000 supports have an integral roller to help adjust/move material. The PM7000 adjustable work light is very handy. It is mounted on the cam bracket with the 3rd material support and has it's own switch and is flexible. I have found this to be invaluable when moving from different cuts or even locations.

The stand has a built in compartment for small item storage. I have not used this yet. The other item that really got my attention was the vise. The pictures do not do justice to this feature. It is heavy duty, adjustable and made of top quality materials just like the entire stand. This stand was extremely easy to assemble. It comes close to fully assembled from the manufacturer. This stand lends itself to be more of portable workbench / station with all of the additional features and its versatility.

I purchased this stand to support a 12" Hitachi sliding compound. On the third occation that I used it, the right rear leg lock gave out. If I hadn't been thinking quickly it would've cause serious damage to a $700 tool. Now since the lock doesn't function at all this thing is worthless to me, even if I repair it I'll never trust it. And, forget about trying to move your saw aroung with that cheap little wheel, the extending roller assembly or leg brackets will dig in, it really is a useless feature.

I'm a union carpenter with 30 years of experience and a fondness for quality tools. Anyone reading this should consider any stand on the market other than this one, you'll be happier and perhaps save yourself some money.

OK, after I bashed this product in my review, I contacted the folks at HTC and they were more than happy to send me the parts to fix it, free of charge. So, there is something to be said about their customer service department.

Went to a half-dozen tool and big-box hardware stores and looked at all of the other stands. Ended up buying this locally for $219 + tax (didn't feel like taking a risk on delivery, since the last two heavy tool items I received from Amazon were both damaged in shipping. Thanks UPS...not).

If you really just want a simple, light, short ( more collapsible) basic no-frills stand for one or two power tools, look elsewhere and save a couple of bucks (or not). If you want the Mack truck ("work center" aptly describes this beast) of racks, this is it. It is overbuilt. Yes, it is heavy (nearly twice most other racks) and long (the main beam is longer than most), but it does oh so much more. The holders have rollers, you can mount 2-3 tools at a time, the vice attachment is sweet, the light attachement includes the third roller, extensions are solid, legs are very solid. Somehow was able to squeeze it into a Camry with the back seat folded down and the supports removed (just made it). But moving it is more of a chore, since all of these added attachements take up a lot of space (compared to the basic racks).

The tri-wheel set-up mentioned earlier helps alot with mobility when collapsed (the website mentioned, discountsurplus, is down right now, but the seller is still selling the wheel sets on ebay for $30 delivered, currently listed as "TracRac Wheel Bracket"...a bit pricey, but if you need it...).

Again, if you have more space for storage than a basic stand, aren't hauling it up and down stairs every day (like simply leaving it set-up as part of your workshop, or to be set-up just a few times at a job), and want a rock solid base, this is it.

4.75 stars, only because it is so darned heavy compared to the others. - Tools - Miter Saw - Cool Tool - Miter Saw Stands'

Mechanical Pencils - pencil, drafting

I have chosen this sharp pencil after a vigilantly careful 3-4 hour session in a department store.

I went into several stores and compared all the mechanical pencils they had at that time.

I took 10+ pencils for a ride (CDT, Cross, Faber Castell, Mitsubishi Kuru Toga, Ohto Promecha, Parker, Pelikan, Pilot, Pentel Graph Limited 1000, Rotring, Staedtler 885, Zebra Tect 2way etc. ).

For whatever reasons drawing with the Graphgear 1000 just feels right the very moment you take this pen into your hand.

When I made my decision I decided for the feature I REALLY need for a long term relationship. ;-)

While the "obvious" feature would certainly include the visual design you will be surprised to find out how much more there is to it, as I will elaborate below.

Hard factors:

1) Heavy usage of hand and/or rheumatoid arthritis:

If you or a good friend happen to play guitar daily for many hours and take notes at the same time or are unfortunate enough to already have rheumatoid arthritis in your hands, then this is "The pencil you don't want to leave the house without". I am not talking about the reliability itself but about how comfortable it is to use. This pen allows you to do more with much less effort !!

2) You can hide the sharp and sensitive penfront inside the pen.

While this may not be an obvious advantage, consider that you may accidently drop it once during its lifecycle.

The fact that the pens tip is hidden on the inside does not only protect your investment itself it also somewhat lessens the likelyhood of an actual damage to your other inventory, your expensive new shirt - or worse an injury to a family members eye (kids) etc.

I can not stress enough that this first feature alone is the one that is selling the pen for me. I tried many things to avoid that our almost 4 year old is taking my pencils. The "hidden" lead is a cool feature, so the kids dont play with the pens (because they are unusable).

3) The metal case is robust enough to handle when its dropped on the floor and makes sure the pen is still usable after it.

4) The pen has an adjustable lead type indicator for users that tend to forget what lead they filled it with last time, which is also handy if you own several of those.

5) Best Price-Performance value on the market. You will be hard pressed to find another pen that provides similar or even more quality for less.

This pencil easily beats any current competitions products that are priced at even ten times the price !!

Soft factors:

6) The overall visual design is nice and the pen is very slim which makes it look elegant.

(one exception is that the clip could be designed more elegant)

7) The feeling that comes with it when you draw and when you hold it is amazing. F.e while other pencils have a certain resistance on the media this one "glides" over it.

Summary:

Pentels Graphgear 1000 has many appealing points. In a super short summary, "IT JUST FEELS RIGHT".

Users with heavy daily drawing activity by hand and/or rheumatoid arthritis will be sold on the sole fact that they can do more with less efforts.

Or in other words it avoids stress to your hand and - more important - the likelyhood of an accident.

The Graphgear 1000 has also unmatched "real" advantages over the competition that protect your "investment".

I am well aware that other pens have features like adjustment of the length of the outcoming lead or automatically pushing out the lead when shaking etc.

But when you want to have a pencil that has all the features you MUST have and provides you with a suberb support than the choice becomes amazingly clear.

The Pentel Graphgear 1000 is a tough, reliable lifestyle partner that lets you feel that you are the one in charge !!

It also does easily pay for itself over and over by the time others have replaced their counterparts.

So if you are looking for a serious long term relationship than you have just found your partner ;-) Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Automatic Drafting Pencil, 0.5mm Lead Size, Brushed Metal Barrel, 1 Each (PG1015A)

This is a great product in almost every way with one important exception: the clip. The clip on this pencil is used to retract the metal tip of the pencil so if you have it in your pocket or your pencil bag you don't stick yourself reaching in. You do this by pushing the top of the clip which raises the bottom of the clip which is essentially 'holding' the metal tip in place for drawing, so it retracts. But if you are using the clip regularly to clip it onto your pocket or whatever else, it becomes loose, and the bottom of the clip will no longer hold the tip in place without forcing the clip into the hole. Really, it's pretty annoying. And at a certain point, holding it in place won't even work.

I own 8 of these pencils, in the .3 .5 and .7 variety, and it has been a problem with all of them. So it definitely isn't one faulty pencil I am having issues with. I think you are better off dropping your money on a super promecha, it's more expensive but if you care enough about your pencil to spend so much on a Graph Gear 1000 you probably don't mind spending the extra cash on a better product. It's also a much better looking pencil aesthetically.

Hope this helps someone who likes to keep their pencils clipped inside the pocket of their pants shirt or bag. - Pencil - Pentel - Mechanical Pencils - Drafting'

Organizing - pdf, document scanner

I purchased this scanner as a first step in creating an electronic filing system for a home office. As I accumulated 20 filing cabinet drawers of paper documents going paperless seemed to be an answer.

Purchase of the Fujitsu S1500 was based on the numerous 5 star reviews. I am reasonably tech literate and have used the scanner for about 2 weeks. Here are my initial impressions:

Pros -

1. Speed: This scanner seems blazingly fast. Not a resource hog. Will scan duplex 20-25ppm at default settings on Win2K/1.8mhz/1gb platform.

2. Scan quality very good at all settings.

3. Size and looks: Small desk footprint. Looks great open or closed.

4. Excellent paper feeding as long as documents are same size and 20# or greater paper weight.

Cons -

1. NO TWAIN DRIVER. I knew this going in but did not appreciate how much this would cripple the device in day to day use. Let me explain. I had envisioned creating a virtual file cabinet in my computer using Windows Directory/Folder/File system then scanning my paper documents into this system as pdf files. The problem is that the native Fujitsu software does not let you append an existing pdf file!!!

As an example take a file for utility bills. D:/Home Expenses/Utilities/Gas_Electric.pdf. You can easily scan in all prior bills(limited by 50 sheet ADF)and a pdf with one page for each bill will be created. But if you had more than 50 prior bills or when next months bill comes then the next scan you perform to include these new documents will create a new pdf and does not allow the option of appending this more recent scan to the existing pdf. As you can see one could easily end up with 1000s of individual pdf documents in your filing system. The work around is to launch Adobe Acrobat (not reader) and use it to open the old composite pdf and use Acrobat to append the newly created pdf to the prior file. This work around takes longer than scanning in a 30 page document. Twain based scanners easily work with existing windows file structure and allow you to append an existing pdf without invoking Acrobat.

2. Paper catch tray very fragile and ADF paper support does not stay up (also reported by other reviewers).

3. Double feed sensor: stops scan and reports. This is good. However you cannot retrieve the double fed sheet and place it back in proper order because the next sheet is already in the scanner and cannot be backed out. You have to either cancel the scan and start over or put the unread sheet back in out of order and then use Acrobat to rearrange the pages in the resultant pdf document. If you choose to cancel the scan the document that is halfway into the scanner will not be ejected and you need to perform an new scan to retrieve that sheet.

4. A scanning run will only handle one size document at a time. In my experience if you have a mix of paper sizes you will need to do a scanning run for each paper size. Each run will generate a separate pdf file with you will then need to deal with.

5. I paid extra for the scanner bundle with Rack2File software thinking it would help me create the filing system I envisioned. After loading and spending several hours with this software I don't understand how it works or what it is supposed to do. I consider the extra $30 dollars I spent for the "bundled" scanner money poorly spent.

6. Other minor annoyances are:

While the scanner and snapscan software will run on older platforms the bundled software Rack2file and Acrobat require XPpro SP3 or newer. This is not clear from specs.

ADF will hold 40-50 sheets but output tray will start to jam after 20-25 sheets.

Documents printed on less than 20# paper and with printing on both sides the back side printing will show up on the front side scan. Many commercial invoices are printed both sides on thin paper.

Cannot set several default scanning profiles. You need to reset the scanner parameters each time you want a different profile.

Bottom line:

This would be a 5 star low end document scanner if it only offered a twain driver. As it is I can recommend it only to prospective buyers who understand the full implications of this limitation. I thought of returning this scanner and getting one of the twain based models like the Epson GT S50 but at this point I have learned enough of Acrobat to quickly append my pdfs retrospectively.

I strongly recommend avoiding the "bundled" product since I don't see what added value the Rack2File software brings.

I considered giving the scanner a one star review just to get people's attention but the hardware is so good 3 stars seems about right. Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Sheet-Fed Scanner

I have scanned about 8000 sheets so far. I have found these settings helpful with rack2filer:

1. Auto color detection, Duplex, Best image quality (300dpi Color/Grey 600dpi BW), Options [Only Blank page removal checked (no auto rotation - slows down page viewing)], Continuous scanning.

2. Same as above except change color mode to gray.

And in general I have found:

The multifeed detector works great and has detected many double feeds. It handles old thin thermal fax paper without double feeds - pretty amazing, because I would think that if anything would jam or double feed it would be that. The prompt shows the image of the detected multifeed and gives you the option of keeping it or discarding it - this has been helpful when it detects sticky notes on scanned paper that are supposed to be there.

It has handled many old papers - barely legible and has done an adequate job picking up light print.

Very light or old papers with light print or pencil hand writing are better handled by forcing the color detection to grey. Otherwise Auto everything works well.

Blank page detection - does not work with the other side of lined loose leaf paper or graph paper that has nothing written on it. That is to be expected - but a possible design improvement idea for this product. And to get around this, I have set the scanning side to single-sided. Otherwise blank page detection worked well.

Scans looked exactly like the originals and in rack2 filer the binders read and looked as well as the paper binders.

When it does jam (which was rarely the scanners fault and mostly from staples, taped paper or over loading), the prompt shows the last few pages scanned which makes it easy to recover.

Fanning and creating a step-like pattern of your paper stack before loading the paper makes a big difference in preventing paper jams.

Some of the advantages:

I can take many binders worth on information with me on my notebook without dragging the heavy paper binders in my bag - or one of those wheeled bags that my colleagues use.

There is the security of now being able to have multiple copies of my binders in physically different locations [desktop, notebook, and off site backups] all without using a copy machine.

I need less space for file cabinets [files], bookshelves [binders], and thus less office space.

Everything is now in one place. My office is too small to have all my binders and files together, but now they all fit in one folder on my hard drive.

Although I will still use paper to write on, I don't foresee a reason to ever need to bind or file papers anymore. Just take notes, scan, and recycle.

The actual images for Rack2Filer and CardMinder are in PDF files so if anything happens with Rack2filer - you can always access the data via windows explorer and acrobat.

I have used NeatWorks for my accounting (receipts), documents, and business cards for about a year now. The mobile scanner scans at 3 ppm black and white and 2ppm color - single sided only. So for duplex color ScanSnap is (20ppm x 2)/2ppm = 20x faster - a huge improvement. The NeatWorks software is also heavy and slow compared to Rack2filer and CardMinder.

However, NeatWorks is better than ScanSnap organizer or Rack2filer for receipts. And it can import the PDF scans from the S1500. So, I recommend using NeatWorks software (not the NeatWorks/Desk scanner) for receipts, Rack2Filer for documents and CardMinder for Business cards. - Document Scanner - Pdf - Fujitsu - Scanner'

Campbell Hausfeld - finish staplers, staplers

Questionable quality. I've had the gun just over a month and found it easy to use, lightweight, nice balance. I was fairly impressed. Then it just quit working, I'm guessing a seal ruptured somewhere inside b/c it just leaks instead of firing.

If I could get hold of someone at customer service I would find out what is wrong for sure, but they don't answer the phone, even during their limited office hours, and seemingly don't respond to their email. I'm sure it's still under warranty, but probably won't be by the time I finally get hold of someone.

UPDATE:

The leak was apparently the result of a seal getting dry on the shelf and coming unseated. It was a quick DIY fix. Since then, I've been using it regularly without any problems or complaints. I'd change the rating to a 4* if I could. Campbell Hausfeld 3/8-Inch to 1-1/4-Inch 18-Gauge Narrow Crown Air Powered Stapler: Model CHN10399

The Campbell-Hausfield air stapler arrived in perfect condition and works

like is supposed to do. I could not ask for a better product or at better price

James

Campbell Hausfeld CHN10399AV 3/8-Inch to 1-1/4-Inch 18 Gauge Narrow Crown StaplerExcellent product! Performs very reliably - jams infrequently to not-at-all. Would recommend this stapler on a par with any of the more "popular" brands.

This Little beauty is way more than I expected. I've only had it a short time but it is seemingly well made, performs very well and has features like the depth adjustment for the amount of penetration into the wood, which allows for proper use on both soft and hardwoods, and a very ergonomic soft grip handle. I highly recommend it. I don't think that, for the price, it can be beat.

I am very pleased with this product. I used it very easily for installing carpet cove base on a remodeling project. Now that I have it , I have found many other uses for it. The product is good and the price was right. I reccommend. Edw.J.

This tool will serve it's purpose so long as you are willing to compromise quality for value. I already own a Stanley/Bostitch framing nailer, a DeWalt 15 gauge finish nailer, a Porter Cable 18 gauge brad nailer, and a Bostitch 23 ga. pinner, so I have some basis for comparison. I was disappointed with the Campbell Hausfeld in the following respects, even considering that it's a third the cost of the competition:

1. The case is flimsier plastic than the Porter Cable or DeWalt cases. When pressing the three allen wrenches to get them back in their special slots, the entire case lining compresses as if it were no thicker than a soda bottle. The gun does not quite fit down in the molded recess made for it. All hard cases are a problem in that there is not much room for fasteners, but the box of 1-1/4" staples that came with this one does fit inside.

2. There are no stampings on the tool. There is no serial number. The model number and "date codes" appear on adhesive labels that are applied after the fact, suggesting that perhaps this tool came off the line some factory in China that puts out no-name tools for several buyers to use their own name plates. Campbell Hausfeld does not list this model on their Web site.

3. The bottle of pneumatic oil that came in the case is extremely flimsy, and the top flew off when I tried to squeeze a few drops from the bottle (even after poking a hole in the nipple) sending 30 wt oil splashing across my workshop.

4. The depth of drive adjustment had to be set to it's maximum limit, and even at that not all of the staples were driven flush when driving the 1-1/4" staples that came with the tool through 1/4" birch plywood into 5/4 poplar. With a healthy 80 or 90 PSI from the compressor's regulator, all my other pneumatic fastening tools would countersink the fastener and the depth adjustment has to be backed away from it's maximum position.

5. The staples that came with the tool do not bear any brand name and do not appear to be galvanized like other brands.

6. The tool leaks air from around the trigger during and after it fires, which may be a cause of the power problem in #4. Unless CH will send out a new 0-ring repair kit I intend to return this tool.

On the plus side, it did come with a fitting for the air hose which is worth maybe $2.

While I was expecting a reasonably good tool, I was a bit surprised with the overall high quality of the tool. I believe it would win in a head to head competition with most of its more expensive competitors. - Staplers - Finish Staplers'

this item works great the big thing is that you have to keep the disc wet when it is trying to clean off scratches so make sure to use the spray that comes with it i use about 2 squirsts on each disc if it sounds like it is boging down to much for you add another spray then after useing the rejuvinating spray letting the disc go around two revolutions one good spray with the dick cleaner is all i need i wipe it down with the towl that they give you with it and i have a cd that barly skips when befor it had a good amound of damage to it Skipdr Xbox Disc Repair/clean

1st of all it did not come with original packaging, but everything was sealed i thought it should be fine.

2nd when i checked the manual it should come with a Cleaning Solution & Rejuvenating Fluid witch there was only 2 of the Cleaning Fluid, and i said it could be the same!!!

3rd i did what the manual and all the people on youtube.com said how it should work but nothing... i tried it over 5 times and still it wont do what it should do with my Xbox 360 Disk.

This Item must be returned or Never bought from the first place...

Maybe it's just me, but this thing is made specifically for 360 games. Maybe so, but the 1st and only one I tried in this machine made the game go from unreadable during the game to completely unusable at all. xbox wants to play dvd. and thats in 5 different 360's!!!!!!! Hopefully gamestop can fix it for me.'

120 Hz Refresh Rate - hdtv, 1080p lcd hdtv

I've had this TV about a month now and am generally pleased with its performance VS price. I purchased this TV to replace a 44" 720P Rear Projection that was in my living room. This TV easily out performs that old TV. This TV is really very good when viewing HD sources. I matched a Visio Blu Ray player to use with this TV and there is amazing clarity. But, there is a noticable drop off when viewing non-HD sources like standard TV channels. Seriously, I don't think there are many 1080p sets that offer great standard definition viewing performance. Also, please note that there is an illuminated VISIO faceplate on the face of the TV that stays lit all the time. Now, using the TV in my living room this is not a problem for me, but if I had the TV in my bedroom it would drive me insane as it would probably illuminate half the bedroom! So far the only way I know to turn that light off is to unplug the tv from the power source. Please note that the remote for the VISIO TV was smaller than the remote for the VISIO Blu Ray player-that just seemed a bit odd to me. I also have difficulty menu-editing as when you are done editing they tell you to hit a button with a symbol on it that does not appear on the remote! Note sound output is pretty good-better than my 40" Sony Bravia, but I also am using a 5.1 HDMI theater sound system with it so I can pump it up even to higher levels when needed. On one BD I even had to turn the sharpness down bacause the main actor had 5 o'clock shadow that was so clear it was making me dizzy. VIZIO E470VA 47-inch Class LCD HDTV 120 Hz

So how about we get right down to it?

There are a few things with this set that are a little annoying:

- Sometimes, for no reason at all, the set will turn off and turn back on. The set will also turn off when going through the setup menu after pressing the 'Ok i.e. Select' button. The latter does not happen everytime, but it does it do it.

- This kind of goes along with the above. Startup is kind of slow at about 10 seconds. Time between channel switching is about 3 seconds, which also feels a little slow.

- The stand that came with this TV will not swivel to the right (when you are facing the TV), but will turn to the left.

- Setup. Took about 30 minutes for this to fully search, and program all of the analog/digital channels in my area (about 120). This is not an issue if you have satellite or a cable box.

- Sometimes when I am switching channels, the sound from the channel I eventually end up on distorts greatly and sometimes does not come on at all. To fix this, I have to switch channels and then back again.

****As you can see there are a few problems with this TV, and although I still do not consider them a deal breaker --only if the price of the TV is such that it is much lower than its competitors, note what you might be getting should you purchase this set.

However, because of the good price and relatively moderate annoyances of the above dislikes, this is still a great set to buy.

Here are the upsides:

- Picture quality. It looks fantastic on HD channels, and when watching sports. This is a 120Hz TV to help with watching sports and/or video games. On this particular TV the latter setting is called "Smooth Control". I left the smooth motion on high when watching basketball and football names, which greatly reduced blurring so that it was not really noticeable at all. Moreover, there are three different settings to adjust the smooth control : Low, Medium, and High. I did not notice any difference between them. Yes you can adjust this setting to stay completely off, leaving your movies in their normal framerate (24fps) instead of the "soap opera effect", which looks like 30fps. The setting is located under Menu----TV----More.

- Sound. Speakers on these TVs will never compare to aftermarket speaker systems, but I must say that the wait until you do purchase that system will not be terrible one. The audio, especially in surround sound, does very well at filling a room with a robust volume and with a variety of different sounds/instruments.

- Automatic picture adjust. Automatically adjusts levels of brightness/backlight to accommodate ambient light.

Comparing to TVs of all brands, this one is a must buy in the area of LCDs of the same picture size if it is 100-200$ less than its competitors.

I had a 2 year old 37" olevia aka spectra 720p tv I wanted to upgrade for christmas to a larger higher quality set for myself.

I bought this from amazon after doing a ton of research for 749.00 no sales tax and free delivery. The research seemed like it would be a good tv I had seen it in person in target the picture was decent. I was nervous about getting a vizio as it is well the low end product but everyone I talked to said vizio is a great brand to buy very reliable and good prices. HA It ended up being the biggest mistake.

First to start with amazons large shipping department is not like its reqular shipping. This is done by frieght carrier. I got a company called pilot. They lost the tv had lousy service and it took over two weeks to get to me. The people did a terrible setup job. Good note is that amazon handled this fairly well and discounted me 67.00 for my troubles. which made this a better deal.

The tv looked good after I fiddled with the settings. After the first day it shut off suddendly I thought I must have bumped the button. But not so it would just shut off at random. Three days it started loosing the sound in the middle of the show if I restarted the tv or hit the back button on my dvr it would fix the issue. I tried changing cables and then one of the HDmI inputs failed

Besides these issues the picture seemed decent the sound was decent it was a nice large size. For the price it was about the quaility I would expect but having a tv that loses power and sound isn't so nice so I called amazon and they sent a replacement. This time it was from a company called ceva who had excellent service, setup and the unit arrived promptly.

I get it setup and on the second day I started having issues with random power loss and loss of sound. I had it For me 700 bucks is a large expenditure. I wanted something nice and that works well. I'm terminally ill and spend 90% of my time in bed watching tv. So I really wanted something to make my life more enjoyable. A faulty tv is not this something.

I called amazon and did an exchange. After alot of research I choose a Samsung LN46C650 for 840.00 with a free wireless lanstick adapter. WOW this blows the vizio out of the water. The image and colors are a huge improvement. You get alot more features including internet tv. The samsung is 46" vs 47 on the vizio but you get so much more and the quality is 10x better. Even is you have to pay $250-300 more it is worth it to get the samsung.

Bottom line not reliable. Low price for low features and an ok picture if the unit works. Save some extra money and get the samsung LN46C650 or LN46C630. The vizio it is a decent picture where the samsung picture looks like you could walk right into it. Maybe other vizios are okay but this model is not it has big problem I got two units with power and sound loss and serval other reviews note the same issue. I won't buy a vizio every again.

The only good thing I can say is amazon does have excellent customer service and they went out of there way to make sure I was a happy customer and to meet my needs. - 1080p - 1080p Lcd Hdtv - 120hz - Hdtv'

7 For All Mankind - boots, bootie

I wanted a gray shoe. This is not quite as gray as I would have liked but it worked out to be better in a way because it blended with so much. But it is also the comfortable that is so great I wore it all day the first day. Great with jeans of all colors. ZigiNY Women's Cadillac Short Bootie,Black Leather ,8 M US

I ordered these in the black and they came the next day!! Love amazon they definitely deliver fast. I will be shopping here more often. As for the boots they are really cute and easy to get on because of the side zipper.(I usually have a problem getting boots on and off) They are a half size smaller than normal I would say. I wear a 7.5 and bought an 8 to be safe and glad I did. - Womens - Blowfish Boots - Bootie - Boots'

Headphones - j4, earphones

When I buy earbuds, the most important thing for me is the sound quality, followed by how comfortable they are in my ears. The J4 delivered on both of these. I was really impressed by the clarity of the sound and the attention to details in the design. I have had to toss other earbuds because of a flimsy jack or cheap connectors. With the J4s, it is pretty clear that they put some thought into trying to build a product that could take a beating. I have owned other JLab products and have always been impressed with their products and customer service. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for an affordable high quality set of earbuds. JBuds J4 Rugged Metal In-Ear Earbuds Style Headphones with Travel Case (Obsidian Black)

I've been a fan of JBuds for a while and have owned several pairs of J3s... keyword several. They had the most amazing sound (although lacking somewhat in bass) but they just weren't durable. I found myself constantly trying to protect them but inevitably one or both earbuds would go out. But no longer.

Durability:

-These things are tanks. You really won't believe it until you see them. Everything from the cable, to the earbuds, to the connector is built to last. I carry my headphones wrapped up in my pocket wherever I go and I can say I am not worried in the least about hurting these things.

Comfort:

-These are just as comfortable as the J3s if not moreso. For those of you who don't have J3s, basically these are just amazing to wear. I honestly often forget I'm wearing them. Furthermore, it comes with SEVEN TIPS!! There's practically no way you won't find one that fits you perfectly. When I first got the J4s however, I was worried about them staying in my ears because the cable and split is just so heavy. These fears were unfounded, and it ended up just being a slightly different feel from my previous very light earbuds.

Sound Quality:

-With the J4s I can distinctly pick apart each instrument and sound in the song. Nothing is muddied and nothing is lost. They're incredibly clear and have actually turned me into a sort of audiophile. I make sure to get the highest quality music files because I can hear every detail in them. It's truly amazing.

Price:

-Can't beat it!

This is one very nice set of earbuds. If the price seems a bit steep (I don't why it would), remember these things will probably outlive your grandchildren.

Right out of the box, I could tell it has a higher build quality than the previous JBuds. The flat cable feels very "solid" and the buds themselves are built stronger. The J4s are much heavier than the J3s and previous earbuds; if you are looking for lightweight, J3 is the way to go. My main concern about the build of these earbuds is how long the flat cable will last, much like the Beats earbuds by Dre. I think if the flat cable near the base bends too much from being in your pocket or the like, it will sever easily.

Onto audio quality. For the $30 that I shelled out, the J4s are a GREAT deal. I have only burned in for about 6 hours, but the bass is very "boomy," meaning they are strong and resonate well. I would have to disagree with one of the other reviews here; the mids don't sound actually that great for me. The mids are good, but not absolutely great; they can be muddied out by the bass sometimes. The treble is not nearly as high as the J3s, which are known for being very "bright" and having powerful treble. Overall, the sound quality is very good for the money.

Comfort is very subjective, so I will not go into too much here. It can be a bit annoying when something hits the cable and the sound travels to your ears. If you wish to run or hit the gym with these earphones, these are definitely not for you. It is not as bad when music is on and I'm just sitting or lightly walking.

Good earbuds, and a wonderful buy for the money.

*UPDATE*

Well, it's been about a month and a half since I purchased this. The right ear has blown out after light usage.

I used it about an hour a day on a 30 minute ride to and from work. Did not last nearly as long as I wished they did. I'm fairly disappointed.

WOW!!! First of all, let me say that when you first open the free case that is included in the cost, you are aware of the fact that these are some very different buds. The flat cable is a major improvment in design and durability! There is a clip that is included for keeping the cable in a somewhat stable position. Then the quality of the material itself is evident. These were built to last! I am thinking of seeing if stock is available for these guys. This is a company that is listening to the customer and developing a product that is superb and if I am right about the quality, will last for many years to come. I am listening to a variety of music as I write this and every song has been improved by the range of these cans! I am really happy to also have a case that fits my Zen X-Fi2 in the mesh and then leaves me the choice of using the plastic insert that holds the J4's in place during shipment or just tossing them in this large tray area that is there without the plastic insert. The sound quality is perfect for my taste. The J3's were a little bright IMO. These are strong in the mids and a nice full bass to boot. The highs are just bright enough. I can't wait to just finish up this review and just kick back and listen to Ocean Cloud by Marillion which is just starting, no time for spell check!!! Hope this helps. - Earphones - Jbuds - J4 - Headphones'

Samsung Captivate - captivate, charger

i wasn't expecting that much because these batteries are actually not very expensive compared to others. however, they last just as long as the original one i got with my phone so i can't complain at all. charger is good i never run out of battery life anymore 2X Battery + FREE Travel Charger W/ USB Output for Samsung Galaxy S, Fascinate, Sprint Epic 4G, AT&T Captivate, T-Mobile Vibrant, i9000, i897, T959,

I ordered the batteries on the 1st, and they arrived on the 3rd. Talk about fast. Within an hour of ordering i received an email stating that the items had been shipped. The batteries themselves fit perfectly into my Samsung Captivate. No problem at all. I can even charge them while they are in the phone. Which some buyers could not. Keep in mind i am using the Captivate. I have been using the new batteries as my primary power source for a few days. The two i received last every bit as long as the original. depending on how you use them. The downside i see with these is if you charge them at night, and set them aside for a few hours, you will have a battery at 90 percent or less. once in the phone, you will have TWO extra batteries you can rely on. The stand alone charger is good too. Yes you can charge the original Samsung battery in it. The usb plug is a plus too. It does charge the batteries a little slow though. The charger has a bright light on it. This could be toned down a bit. It even stays on while its not charging any batteries. So its best to just unplug it when not in use. For the price, im telling you now. You cant go wrong. Great product, fast shipping.

These batteries will not charge in the samsung fascinate. They work fine if you charge them with the wall charger, but you have to take the battery out of your phone to charge them.

The batteries are really tight in the fascinate, takes a bit of prying to get them out, but they do work.

EDIT: 11/15/10 The seller posted on the ad they dont charge with the fascinate

my favorite thing ever? certainly. these batteries work as good as the original one and my phone no longer has a battery life problem. i love charging two batteries at a time and having spares to use at work and school!

awesome deal. 100% satisfied

I bought these batteries knowing that quite often the old adage that "you get what you pay for" is true. It certainly was true in my case. I gave these batteries a fair shot and made sure that I conditioned and recharged them properly for the best results. What did it get me? two junky, underpowered batteries and a decent charger. These lasted LESS than HALF the time that my stock Epic battery. That's already a poor comparison. not to mention they took forever to charge. Returned for refund. Run far away..

After 1 glitch, both batteries and charger seem to be working well for me...

The batteries fit nicely (not tight) into my Verizon Samsung Fascinate.

I carefully charged each battery from about 75% to Blue light, without overcharging (I'm not sure exactly what overcharging is and since you don't know how long it's been blue after noticing I hope that 1min-2hrs is ok, and that you shouldn't leave it (over)charging over night, for several hours...)

1 battery, however wouldn't work after that 1st charge?!?

(I tried several times, but the phone wouldn't come on with that battery)

I popped it back into the charger when I got back to our room and it turned blue quickly and has worked fine since (since I got them last week).

So if you are having problems with your battery try this.

Otherwise the only complaint I have was that the charger didn't come with instructions and the only place I found them was in these reviews (I didn't know which color meant charged?!?)

It is kinda silly having a USB connection if you can't plug your phone into it, although I imagine you can plug your Yoda USB Desk protector into it?

The phone recognizes the "clone" battery and complains of unsupported battery at power up. However, the phone works until the battery runs out of juice then it won't charge it. The charger will charge the original battery just fine. Samsung, stop this nonsense! We paid you enough!!!

With three batteries on hand, I won't fear of not having access to the phone while it being charged. The charger also serves as night-light while it plugs into the socket with its red/green leds. Another use, for free!

I have sprint EPIC 4G , and I purchased this battery, actually this battery last a little bit longer than my original one. and I do not get any charging issue like others said. I am exited that I will never run out of battery with 3 batteries in hand.

The batteries and the charger are in very good condition.

It works well, though I noticed that the batteries last a little shorter than the original.

Cool thing is you can charge the phone battery and another battery simultaneously.

Also, you may not be able to remove the batteries from the phone easily.

It solves my purpose of extending my phone's power.

After a single charge, I noticed battery became physically convoluted and dead. This is just 3 hours after receiving the product. Experiencing this, how could I use the other battery? Note that defective battery can brick your phone so be careful using a cheap battery.

To be fair, its charger is working fine. After incident above, I was reluctant to use the charger for original and other OEM batteries. But it turned out the charger was working fine with other batteries. - Extra Batteries - Captivate - Battery - Charger'
