Crime Drama - rockstar, detective

L.A. Noire is a very good game for the gamer that likes to be analytical, gather clues, and figure things out. It's slow paced, as police work usually is, but it's also very rewarding. The Motion Scan technology in this game is fantastic, and I see it being built upon for future releases of completely different games. The ability to read an actors expression is certainly pushing a new paradigm in games that just hasn't been executed before with any success. Team Bondi delivers here.

The story in this game isn't something new. Allowing the user to be the police officer, and a good one, is for the most part new. There is almost an RPG like feel to the game, with long dialog while you're interrogating people. This may come off as boring to some, but I assure you the scenes aren't just fillers. They're fun, interesting, integral parts of the whole story.

The game is still an open world concept, so you can move around and explore the beautiful old L.A. city that Team Bondi laid out. There are also a number of side missions that you can do.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 because the game can get a bit redundant at times. Don't worry, the story does get varied, but a few of the cases are too similar. The other reason I took a bit off the final score is that there just isn't much room for replay value here. Short of the inevitable game add-on's that you can purchase from the XBox Live Marketplace, there's not going to be much reason to come back once you beat it. I'd put the gameplay at about 15-25 hours. This doesn't take into account how much time you spend exploring away from the main story line and side missions.

L.A. Noire is definitely worthy of your collection. I hope we see more Team Bondi developments produced by Rockstar.

Thank you for reading! L.A. Noire

I'm enjoying playing this game (I think), but I'm finding it a bit clunky and frustrating in all the places it shouldn't be. And in far too many places I'm thinking "Is that all there is?"

I have framerate issues in some outdoors areas. Also, I'm experiencing annoyance caused by the fact that in some areas I can't climb low walls. Sometimes I can scale fences, sometimes I can't. The developers only made some features climbable. The Assassin's Creed series gets this right. This game, not so much. If you're going to make certain things climbable, make them all climbable. Don't make a fence climbable in one spot, but 20 yards away the same height fence is not. Nothing breaks the sense of 'suspension of disbelief' more than having your game character running in place when faced with a hose line or a 2ft high wall that the game developers forgot to allow you to negotiate.

Then there's the actual gameplay. It often seems to me that this is more a walkthrough than a game, as each game decision is virtually handed to you on a platter. Then, if you get a decision wrong, it hands you the right answer anyway. So none of the decisions you make actually affect the outcome of the game. It's essentially a linear game that's pretending to have a branching storyline that your decisions affect.

Then there's clunky gameplay factors like the investigations. You seem to spend most of your time running around interior walls waiting for a tell-tale controller rumble that tells you that you're in the vicinity of a clue - but try to pick it up and you find yourself stumbling about trying to find the exact spot the game wants you to be in to collect it.

When you get a suspect in for interrogation, often the question doesn't match the answer you give, and rambles on about other issues so that you can forget what the question was about. Then if you choose that they're lying, it's that much harder to figure out what it was they were lying about. Also, sometimes they're telling the truth, but the 'correct' choice was to say they were lying. How does that make any sense? In short, the interrogation system is poorly implemented and confusing.

When you get your partner to drive, there's no option to watch the action as there is in Red Dead Redemption. Although your character says "I'd like to check my notes" there's no option to do that. It just fades to the destination.

I do like the option the game gives to skip a sequence that you're having a hard time with. I wish the GTA series had this. Unfortunately, this game is so easy that I've not needed it so far.

Another annoyance is that the game's revolvers can take out a criminal at 300 yards. Your character has the ability to aim and fire a police issue pistol with the accuracy and range of a sniper rifle. On the other hand, you can hit a guy in the head or shoot him in the chest with no effect (they won't ever go down on the first shot). It's things like this - silly nonsense - that makes the game so annoying.

Finally, although I didn't expect this game to be GTA or Red Dead Redemption, I did hope for some of the usual stuff you get in a sandbox game. What this game offers is a few samey side quests and a few cars to collect. The side quests are all variations on the same theme - shoot the cop killers/bank robbers, and collecting cars has no purpose - they don't go faster, they don't have extra radio stations - nothing. Going by landmarks 'unlocks' the landmark, but for what purpose (other than a few game points) I don't know.

In general, the game seems unfinished. It's fun for a while, but the game features all seem to be floundering in search of some kind of focus. Also, you find yourself in a vast area of Los Angeles, but there's very little to actually do there. You can't go to movies, you can't do any mini-games. It just seems like this game spent all its time on graphics and had no time left over to flesh out the gameplay. - Crime Drama - Video Games - Rockstar - Detective'

Syma Rc Helicopter - indoor heli, syma rc helicopter

Bought this heli along with along a Syma S107 this one arrived first. I bought it after seeing a video on youtube of these things flying around a mini heli obstacle course with precision and amazing control. Don't know if I got one from the bottom of the barrel or what, but there is no way I could fly this thing they way they showed in the video for one reason, throttle response.

After a full charge this heli is wild and unpredictable, slight up movement on the throttle and it begins a quick ascend. let off a touch to slow it's upward motion and your descending at a alarming rate, quickly act and you hit the ceiling. It's a constant fight to make it hold an desired altitude until the battery begins to lose a little of it's charge then maintaining a hover becomes a little more of a possibility.

In high speed mode if you press forward it gains quite a bit of lift from the tail rotor requiring you to reduce throttle and just before you stop forward movement you will need to blast the throttle to compensate for the loss of lift. Likewise for backward motion except the process is reversed, full blast throttle for full back control and let off the throttle before you let off backward motion completely to maintain your current attitude.

Also quality might be a issue, because mine right out of the box the B motor main bushing is slightly out of spec, I it noticed it when I began to first spin the rotors on its on power the famous worn out electric motor screeching sound was made. However it does not seem to affect it's performance other than a little noisy, then again maybe that is the reason for the inability to hold a good hover and keep a constant altitude during movement?

On the other hand if you have the need for speed this one will please you. It has plenty of power to weight ratio and the high speed mode is just that, it can get away from you quick! The slow speed is a tad bit faster than the S107 and in high speed mode it is a little more than twice as fast. Other than that the two are simular in construction, control and handling characteristics. The charge time on this one is a lot faster about 20-25 minutes and flies about the same for 8 to 10 minutes. The wall charger and extra blades are a nice added bonus.

If you want control and stability I would suggest the S107, But if your up for a challenge and like flying fast and on the edge of out of control this one would fit the bill.

All in all I still fly this one and enjoy it's challenge, but more importantly the speed is addicting and adds a little flavor to style of flying like being able to blast it around the room and bring it into a hover looks kind of like a 4ch sliding sideways through the air as it comes to a stop. Just don't expect to land and hover precisely on command and I would not recommend this for beginners. Panties For Men - boy shorts, under armour

This was purchased for athletic purposes and has held up well during training for several 5ks - and the races too. This product is fabulous

and I will by more. This product has withstood one month of rigorous activities. Gilligan & O'Malley® Womens 2 Pk Ultimate Seamless Boyshort - Ebony M

After trying many different brands of boyshorts, these are the best I could find. I would give 3.5 stars if I could. But I do have some issues with them: They ride up a little bit on ample backsides, even if you have the proper size. They are only available in white in my size currently and white opaque underwear has to be the most unflattering color of all. They should have a cotton crotch. Finally, they could use a little more tummy control as they currently don't have much at all. So if you don't need control top, they should be fine. Having said all that, they do look much more flattering in my work pants than the dreaded visible panty lines, so I will continue to wear and continue to look for other colors until something better comes along. UPDATE: I was excited to see more colors and ordered about 10 pair. Much to my dismay after opening they seemed different from my prior pairs, not as much control in the tummy. I finally thought to look at the material and sure enough, they USED TO make these with 10% spandex (which is what I reviewed above). NOW they make them with only 6% spandex and it makes a huge difference if you want any amount of tummy/bulge control at all. Who would think that little change would make a big difference? I will no longer buy these.

I love these! Like the other reviewer, I found them at a Target and wondered why I was picking up the last set available. After trying them out, I went back, but Target hadn't restocked them. I'm so glad I can get these panties through the 'net!

The cut, fit and looks is perfect however they are made of synthetic fibers meaning they are simply not heathy to wear. They make you sweat when it's hot and you can't wear them for long periods of time because of the synthetic feel. If only they were made of cotton and lycra they'd be the only underwear I'd wear. I am looking for different undies.

Because I understand fully the pitfalls of women's sizing I always check my measurements against the seller size charts. I ordered according to their chart, and after waiting for a month for the garments to arrive I was dismayed to find that these do not run true to their chart in size.

They do stretch, but will definitely need a size up. I wish I had known before I ordered. At least they will likely fit once I have the baby, so I suppose I will keep them and purchase the next size for now. - Under Armour - Boyshort - Boy Shorts - Lingerie'

British Mysteries - miss marple, mystery

I saw some of these on TV when they first came out, and I have to tell you this set is well worth the price. First, we get Helen Hayes twice as Miss Marple and once as the victim with my old childhood hero Bill Bixby as the sleuth. Then we get 3 of the 6 mysteries with the only native born Russian to become a knight of the British Empire, Sir Peter Ustinov as Poirot (the other 3, 2 are available on Lion's Gate (older copies on Anchor Bay when I wrote this originally and 1 on MGM but only in England: Region 2). Watch for soon to be popular British TV star David Suchet on London Weekend Television's (PBS & A&E here) version of Poirot soon after, in one of these films, but as Japp. Finally, 2 other Christie Classics: Sparkling Cyanide and The Man In The Brown Suit, all with all star casts. Interesting to note, that the Hayes and Ustinov sets can be bought as separate items as well, but these latter 2 appear NOT to be available separately. If you wanna complete this great collection, I recommend the fore mentioned 3 pack by Lion's Gate with the other 2 Ustinovs available here (Evil Under The Sun and Death on The Nile) and Angela Lansbury (pre Murder She Wrote) as Miss Marple in The Mirror Cracked. These 3 are also available separately, but side by side these 2 multi disc sets would look great together. If you wanna see how "it was done" before Suchet and Hickson told us, buy these films.:-) Agatha Christie Classic Mystery Collection (Murder Is Easy/Caribbean Mystery/Murder with Mirrors/Thirteen for Dinner/Dead Man's Folly/Murder in Three Acts/Sparkling Cyanide/The Man in the Brown Suit)

This collection of 8 American(!!!) TV movies is a real treat for Christie fans. And it proves that we can honor the First Lady of Mystery on this side of the Pond just as well as her fellow Brits. Not all 8 are perfect gems, but they sure get an A for effort. With 2-time Oscar-winners Helen Hayes and Peter Ustinov as Miss Marple and Poirot, backed up by an impressive crowd of A-list film and TV stars, who could complain?

Extra treat for American mystery fans: 2 of these films--A CARIBBEAN MYSTERY and SPARKLING CYANIDE--were written by our own national treasure of mysterydom, Sue Grafton, and her husband, Steven Humphrey. Sue went on to prove with her Kinsey Millhone "alphabet" series ("A" IS FOR ALIBI, "B" IS FOR BURGLAR, etc.) that she is a true "daughter" of Christie.

And it's a delight to see established stars like Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, Tony Curtis, and Faye Dunaway mixing it up with newer talents like Stephanie Zimbalist, Jameson Parker, Anthony Andrews, and Lesley Anne Down. And let's not forget Sir John Mills, Maurice Evans, Tim Roth, Bill Bixby, Jean Stapleton, Edward Woodward, Brock Peters, Tony Randall, Rue McClanahan, Jonathan Pryce, and David Suchet (as Inspector Japp in 13 AT DINNER, long before he went on to play Poirot). Whew! But the real treasures here are the stories themselves--8 of the cleverest mysteries ever written, well-served (for the most part) by several generations of our finest entertainers. And the slim packaging is especially elegant. Curl up in front of your TV and enjoy!

PS: The popularity of these films when they first aired led directly to CBS's decision to do MURDER, SHE WROTE--yet another reason to be thankful for them.

I'm so thrilled to hear about Agatha Christie Movies coming out on DVD in a Collection Box set of Eight enjoyable Agatha Christie movies - I loved watching A Caribbean Mystery, Murder With Mirrors, Murder Is Easy, Dead Man's Folly, Murder in Three Acts, Thirteen at Dinner, Sparkling Cynaide and The Man In The Brown Suit. I will add these eight movies to my Agatha Christie DVD Collection. Can't Wait for this collection to be released on September 12th. I loved the box cover Artwork. The Actors are superb to watch Peter Ustinov, Helen Hayes, Bill Bixby, Jean Stapleton, Bette Davis and many others to give wonderful performances in their roles in my favorite agatha christie movies.

What a treat to have some of the worlds favorites sleuths such as Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, and Colonel Race all in one collection of eight mysteries. And Agatha Christie doesn't disappoint with exciting mysteries such as Murder in Three Acts, The Man in the Brown Suit, Murder is Easy, and Thirteen to Dinner. It's a pleasure just spending time with some of the great actors that have given so much pleasure to so many over the years such as Helen Hayes, Peter Ustinov, Olivia de Havilland, Tony Curtis, Jean Stapleton, Bill Bixby, Tony Randall and so many more.

With Peter Ustinov as Hercule Poirot and Helen Hayes as Miss Marple, these are delightful little mysteries with the supporting cast of stars that makes them worth viewing. With stars of the magnitude of Bette Davis, Olivia de Havilland, Faye Dunaway and Tony Curtis, plus an array of TV favorites such as Jean Stapleton, Tony Randall, Bill Bixby and Jameson Parker, Agatha Christie fans shouldn't miss this DVD set. The only problem with the eight-set is that An Appointment with Death wasn't included, one of the better Christie films with Peter Ustinov and Lauren Bacall. Alas, we can but wait impatiently for the straggler to be released on DVD as a single.

If you are as big a fan of mysteries and of old Hollywood stars as I am then this set is a must for you. You get Peter Ustinov, Jean Stapleton, Faye Dunaway, Bette Davis, Lesley Anne Down, Tony Randall, Tony Curtis, and my personal favorite--Helen Hayes--just to name a few! Some of my favorites are "Murder with Mirrors with Helen Hayes and Bette Davis, and "Dead Man's Folly" with Peter Ustinov and Jean Stapleton. Jean Stapleton is a riot in this one. She really steals the show!

But I must admit that the stars are probably the best part of these Warner Bros. productions. It's just a shame that with such great actors the producers didn't get better scripts and directors. The weakest of the lot is probably "Murder in Three Acts", with Tony Curtis. The dialogue is weak and the scenes very choppy and hard to follow. Some of these stories like "Sparkling Cyanide" have been messed with so much that there is very little resemblance to Christie's original story! But if you like mysteries and want to see some great old Hollywood stars (especially Helen Hayes) then you will enjoy this set. - Miss Marple - Mystery - Hercule Poirot - British Mysteries'

Horseback Riding Apparel - riding helmet, troxel

These jods were real cute, great color (purple), and well made. The embroidery across the back was well done. We did have to return them sadly because my daughter is extremely fussy about things being tight on her legs, which they were. She is average size 8 but we sized up to a 10. I thought they fit fine sized but as I said, over the top fussy! TUFFRIDER Knee Patch Cotton Embroidered Pull On Jodhpurs Child - CASHMR BLU, 12 - Children Boots - Troxel - Riding Helmet - Riding'

Mothers Day Gifts - necklace, silver

The pendant came before the time promised, and though the picture looked nice, for the price I was pretty sure that I'd be disappointed when I saw it...but I was mistaken! It is very pretty, my wife loved it, and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with this company in the future..

Thrilled to pieces with this purchase. Sterling Silver Mother and Child Heart-Shaped, Gift for Mom Love Mom Pendant Necklace 18'', Mother's day gift

my husband is an only child, so when i saw this pendant, i thought it was perfect! its super cute, but i didn't expect the underside to be so hollow. its a lot lighter and a tiny bit smaller than i expected, but it was still a great surprise for my mother-in-law for mother's day. the pouch it came in was very big, and the way it was packaged made it look cheap (it was in a plastic folding piece, sort of like the plastic sheets earrings come in), so i took it out the plastic and put it in a nice box. all in all, pretty satisfied with my purchase. - Silver - Necklace - Heart - Mothers Gifts'
