Business Strategy - competition, kindle

There are plenty of books available on strategy, but most business leaders do not have a lot of time to read them. Where can you go to get a reasonably-priced introduction to the ideas of some of the leading experts on business strategy? This book provides one possible answer. It includes essays on strategy and the five competitive forces by Michael Porter, building a vision by Collins and Porras, blue ocean strategy by Kim and Mauborgne, and the balanced scorecard by Kaplan and Norton.

Although I found the essays by each of the above-mentioned authors less inspiring and enlightening than their books on the same subjects, this compilation does give a good introduction to their ideas, and will help the reader discern whether to take the next step and read the authors' books. Each essay contains sidebars including an "Idea in Brief" sidebar which will help the busy reader further; however, in the Kindle version the sidebars simply appear in the main text, which interrupts the flow and can lead to confusion.

Not all strategic advice is good advice. In my view the advice given in the essay "Transforming Corner-Office Strategy into Frontline Action" leaves something to be desired. The idea of distilling a company's entire strategy into "one pithy, memorable and descriptive phrase" may appeal to some, but I really struggle to see its value. Examples include AOL ("Consumer Connectivity first - anytime, anywhere"), GE ("Be number one or number two in every industry in which we compete, or get out"), Dell ("Be direct"), and eBay ("Focus on trading communities"). Do any of these actually communicate useful strategies, or are they meaningless mantras?

On the other hand, I found the other essays on essentially the same topic (turning strategy into action) quite useful. "The Secrets to Successful Strategy Execution" by Neilson, Martin and Powers and "Turning Great Strategy into Great Performance" by Mankins and Steele gave some very practical steps which a leadership team can take to make a strategy actually happen. All up, I recommend this book as a valuable introduction to strategy. HBR's 10 Must Reads on Strategy

The first few articles are a bit dry and academic in nature but others are wonderful foundational reading for anyone developing a strategy. This is a solid book for anyone trying to brush up on Strategy theory.

This volume is one of several in a new series of anthologies of articles that initially appeared in the Harvard Business Review, in this instance from 1960 until 2006. Remarkably, none seems dated; on the contrary, if anything, all seem more relevant now than ever before as their authors discuss what are (literally) essential dimensions of formulating and then executing an effective strategy.

My own opinion is that strategies are "hammers" that drive tactics ("nails) and the key is to get a strategy in proper alignment with the ultimate objectives as well as with an organization's various activities. That said, what we have in this volume is a variety of thoughtful perspectives on strategy provide by those who are among the world's most highly-regarded authorities on the subject.

More specifically, the reader learns how to understand what strategy is and isn't as well as what it does and (doesn't) do, and, how to manage/leverage the five competitive forces that shape strategy (Michael E. Porter); also, how to build a company's vision (James C. Collins and Jerry I. Porras), how to reinvent a business model (Mark W. Johnson, Clayton M. Christensen, and Henning Kagermann), how to formulate and then execute a "blue ocean strategy" (W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne), how to take full advantage of the "secrets" of effective strategy execution (Gary L. Neilson, Karla L. Martin, and Elizabeth Powers), how to use the Balanced Scorecard as a strategic management system (Robert S. Kaplan and David P. Norton), how to transform corner-office strategy into frontline action (Orit Gadiesh and James L. Gilbert), how to turn great strategy into great performance (Michael C. Mankins and Richard Steele), and gain a much better understanding of how clear decision roles enhance organizational performance (Paul Rogers and Marcia Blenko).

Each article includes two invaluable reader-friendly devices, "Idea in Brief" and "Idea in Practice" sections, that facilitate, indeed expedite review of key points. Some articles also include what I characterize as "business nuggets" in which their authors focus on even more specific subjects such as "Finding New Positions: The Entrepreneurial Edge" (Porter, Page 10), "Big Hairy, Audacious Goals Aid Long-Term Vision" (Collins and Porras, 96), "A snapshot of blue ocean creation" (Kim and Mauborgne, 130-132), "Translation vision and strategy: four perspectives" and "Managing strategy: four processes" (Kaplan and Norton, 172 & 173), and "A Decision-Making Primer" (Rogers and Blenko, 236-237).

These ten articles do not - because they obviously cannot - explain everything that one knows to know and understand about the formulation and execution of an effective strategy. However, I do not know of another single source at this price (currently $14.23 from Amazon) that provides more and better information, insights, and advice that will help leaders to achieve success in the business dimensions explained so well by the authors of the articles in this volume.

Nice concise read for ANYONE and EVERYONE in business, to learn and reinforce the basics of business strategy. Independent shopkeepers, new business associates, boardroom executives, and everyone in between, should read this compilation to comprehend the meaning of strategy and it's role in creating and sustaining economic value and profitability in any commercial enterprise.

Harvard Business Review's ON STRATEGY is a pick for any college-level business collection strong in business management, and pinpoints the problems inherent in companies that spend too much time on strategy development with few proven results. From distinguishing a company from rivals and clarifying its strengths to developing concrete methods of measuring strategy, this packs in many keys to improving strategy analysis and business success, by linking strategy to real-world results and streamlining the entire analytical process. - Kindle - Business Strategy - Competition - Innovation'

Not Recommended - apple, macbook

I love apple products.. they are the next best thing as cheese singles.. but their laptop batteries get old fast.

Thankfully they still sell these batteries because my macbook has a lot of good remaining life.

PS: I got a generic battery from ebay that was half the price and the thing lasted two months... dont waste your money and go with the original battery. Apple MA566LL/A Macbook Battery 13" Black Rechargeable

The photo of the item was clearly a matte finish, but the item I received was high-gloss. Also, it was hard to get the battery to fit. It did wind up fitting but we had to push to get it in. Oddly enough, it is labeled as an apple part, but frankly, I think it is counterfeit. I can not say that I'm totally dissatisfied, because it is working, but it was definately NOT what I expected. If I were to order again, I would order from someone else - probably Apple directly (I feel like I got burned, and just don't trust this process of buying sight unseen).

I am a traveling man and when I order something and it says its arriving on a certain day at a certain time and gets delayed for a week I get disapointed! I find out later they are out of it and don't have a single one until one week later when I would get it as early as the 4 days after it would ship. This is now a total of 2 and 1/2 weeks delivery time. When I ordered it read "in stock" so it should of shipped out asap.

Then when it gets on my doorstep it doesn't function properly and it made my computer shut down every time within 10 seconds of startup. Not good. Complained, they'd replace it, 1 week later I get another one. This one works okay... if my comuter is plugged in and I'm charging it while its in "sleep", my computer shuts down if the charger wire is disconnected.

Save time and money and energy... its not worth it... just get the oem battery. I may never order from these guys again and I'm not gonna return it because I'm tired of corresponding with them and don't want to mail something back to get another shotty battery.

All in all I'm a little flustered and not happy.

I had to buy a new power cord for my macbook when it split. I figured I would buy a new battery too since that went after 2.5 years. I don't have the highest expectations for the life of this battery, but Amazon provides a great service and I got this on my doorstep, delivered as described and promptly.

great product, but had to wait over 2 weeks from time ordered to get it actually shipped out...extremely disappointed in Amazon. Waiting over 2 weeks for a product that is in stock is ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in Amazon. - Macbook - Apple - Macbook Battery - Laptop Batteries'

Cell Phone Accessory - battery backup, charger

I got the Duracell PowerSource in December 09. Since then I have purchased it again and again, many many times over--Most were made gifts (and they're A. useful for just about anyone with mobile electrionic devices, so perfect gifts and B. always recieved at least positive praise if not confessions of love for their usefulness). I presently use two for myself (One that I carry on me, one that knocks around the house. Or I take both on long trips) and have one more in its package as a spare.

I'm the type of person that feels compelled to write reviews on products I come to love, and I do, I love this little guy. My original reasons for getting it, was simply this: All my day-to-day carry-around smaller gizmos presently, either directly charge by USB (by way of mini-USB ports), or have charging cables that end in a full USB plug. This is partly by design in selection on my part, and partly the industries overwhelming embrace of the USB standard as a viable power source provider as well on its usual data tasks. The convenience is clear, with USB being a standard specification, if your device can power from USB, you can assume you can charge it from just about anything that has a USB port, meaning then, any USB port is inherently a universal charger for your gear. When I travel, I bring a couple AC to USB power adapters and use those plus the free USB ports on my laptop to charge my myriad of devices. But I now carry the PowerSource mini with me in my pockets from day to day, and primarily use it to extend the battery usage times on my devices, as well charging them back up in a pinch.

The PowerSource Mini is fully designed by Xantrex for Duracell, a fact openly mentioned several times in the included instructions. Xantrex is a Canada based company well known for its power inverters in particular. The PowerSource mini is, as the instructions say, "designed in Canada, Assembled in China."

It's a very solid little device, fits well in the palm, easily slipped into any pocket. It is roughly about the size of a deck of cards, just a bit wider. There are three ports on it, 2 outputs (meant for charging your stuff), and one input (meant for charging the PowerSource mini's built in 3Ah(3,000mAh) Li-on Polymer battery). The two outputs are a standard female full sized USB port, and a male mini-USB swivel out arm. The input (aka the PowerSource minis charging port) is a small round plug, the type you typically find on most AC adapters, I don't know the exact size. Initially, I was disappointed that the input plug was like this, because although the charging cable is the round plug on one end and a regular full sized male USB plug on the other end (IE, the PowerSource mini charges via USB itself) it just means one more cable you gotta keep track of and try not to lose. But after thinking about it for a minute or two, I could clearly see why they decided to do it this way: it differentiates the input plugs from the outputs. Sure, it'd have been more convenient had the input been its own, say, female mini-usb, but had it been, it'd make it confusing as to what ports were for what task. By differentiating the input from the outputs it is very clear what is meant for what. Sure they possibly could've designed circuitry with a switch control to switch one of the USB ports from a output to input role as needed, but this would've added unnecessary complexity, so overall, in the end, I quite like what they've done here.

The User Interface is as simple as you can get: there is one button on the face. Press it once to turn the device on (IE, it will begin to provide power to the output ports), and press it again to turn it off. There is a central blue LED under the power button that lights when on. There is a secondary LED just below the power button that can light green, amber, or red as relevant. This LED is the power level status indicator and at any one time will let you know the power level, and what the status of the PowerSource mini is: When you're charging the PowerSource mini, it blinks green up to and until the built-in Li-on Polymer battery is fully charged. When you have the PowerSource mini on and feeding power to your devices, the indicator LED will light along with the power LED to indicate the present battery level. Green means there's plenty of charge still, amber means the capacity is low, and finally, red means the battery is almost depleted, and the PowerSource mini will automatically be shutting down in ten seconds in order to protect its internal battery (you don't want to run the battery completely dead, this is not good for it in the long run).

Since the PowerSource mini charges by USB (via included charging cable) it can be charged by any USB port, including the ones on your computers, and comes included with both an AC adapter for plugging into the wall and a car adapter for plugging into your car's cigarette lighter socket. Know this: the AC adapter and car adapter are not exclusive chargers to the PowerSource mini--they are both USB chargers with a female full USB plug on them. Which means that you can also use them to directly power any of your USB chargeable devices. So for example, if your cellphone charges by way of USB, if you buy this kit, you not only will get a battery extender, but also a car charger and extra wall charger for your phone as well.

My PowerSource mini was ready to go straight out of the package, it still had a charge on it (and was in the green level as indicated by the indicator LED) mostly thanks to its Li-on Polymer battery and partly thanks to the fact that was a fairly recently built unit. There is a prominent manufactured on date on the back side of them, mine was assembled on November 8th, 2008, meaning that it was a full year from manuifacturing date until it was opened from its package by me--so it was a pleasant sign to see it still had a good full charge. (note: I purchased this unit elsewhere from an overstock company, not Amazon, so I don't know how reent the units Amazon sells were manufactured--though I believe this is now a depricated model that has been replaced with newer models from Duracel now, so one would expect a little dating). One of the great characteristics of Lithium ion Polymer batteries, is that they have relatively low self discharge as compared to say, regular NiMH batteries. I'm not exactly sure of the figure, but I believe I heard that Li-on Polymer cells will self discharge only about 10% per year. Which is awesome in a device like this, it means you can charge it, then throw it in your bag and be reasonably sure it will still have a good charge whenever you need it. If you've ever been disappointed to find that your NiMH batteries completely discharged themselves unusable in a month's time of non-use... Well, this is a diffrtrny story all together.

Speaking of the backside--a feature I really like about the PowerSource mini is that it has rubber feet on the back. It doesn't sound like much, really until you realize this means you can pretty much put it down on any mostly flat surface while it charges your gizmos, and it will stay in place without sliding.

OK, so how does it work? One word: awesome. In my usage, I have been using it to charge/extend battery life on my HTC TouchPro 2 phone, recharge my Meizu MP3 player, recharge/extend battery on my GPS navigation device, and a plethora of other uses as they come up. A new use I've found recently for one of my units (and lattely it has been all but dedicated to this task) is: Mini RC helicopter charging. I own the very popular Symma s107 mini copter, that model can be charged from a cable that comes out of the controller and charges it from the controllers batteries, or by an included USB cable from any USB port. I keep that cable now almost exclusively tethered to one of my Powersource Minis, and it is a sheer awesome arrangement--It leaves the controllers batteries for controlling only(so you need not replace them as often), pis extremely portable, and it charges the Copter much faster than the controller charges it. I cannot even say how many charges I get from this setup, because I honestly don't know. Countless, it feels like.

The instruction sheet has a small chart of typical recharge times for specific devices and it is as follows:

Device Recharge Time

iPOD 14 hours (<-that seems odd!)

iPOD mini 2.5 hours

iPOD nano 2 hours

Blaxkberry 2.25-2.5 hours

Palm One PDA 5.5 hours

I have been informally keeping an eye on battery run time as I go through my daily usage, and have been utterly impressed. Last week, I was in for a day of doctor appointments, so yes, mostly a waiting room day. I was using WMWifiRouter on my phone, which is a program that makes use of the wifi capability of your phone and shares the cellular internet out to other wifi devices like your laptop. Essentially making your phone an on demand wifi router and hot spot. Awesome, and cool, but the combination of having the wifi radio on, and cellular radio going full blast, as well the computational power usage, makes it a huge power drain. Normally I can expect a couple hours use doing this on my phone's main battery. So this was a perfect way to give my PowerSource mini a real trying test. So before I began, I plugged my phone into the PowerSource mini by way of the mini-USB arm, turned it on, set WMWifirouter going on my phone, then hopped on my netboook... This is a good time to offer a usage/pro tip: If you know, like I did in that situation, that you're gonna need the extra power of the PowerSource mini, go ahead and plug in right off the bat. Basically, your device will think when plugged into the mini that it is simply attached to a wall source or whatever. Your phone will report it is plugged in. If your devices main battery is already full then the PowerSource mini will act like a trickle charger, just topping off power as its used and directly powering the device as you use it. If the main battery is low then the device will be in charging mode which draws more current from the PowerSource mini, and you lose more power in the transmission than if it was just trickling current. So if you plug it in immediately you should notice longer run times than if you just ran the device till dead then plugged in the mini to charge and power it.

Anyway, it was on and off as needed as I went to and from the waiting room, but I would say total accumulative time I got from the PowerSource mini was about 5 hours until it hit the amber low power condition. Which is in my opinion an AWESOME runtime in this usage, but what was remarkable was that at the point it turned off from power depletion, I checked my phones main battery level.. The PowerSource mini had kept it topped off to 90% (!!) meaning I still had an almost full charge on my phone, so I could've still gotten another 2 hours or so out of it had I needed (It was time to go home.)

Here's another extremely unscientific runtime test: When I first got it I was trying to think of a good device to try it out with, and see how long it could go. Well--I have a pair of USB powered Woot-off revolving lights (If you don't know what i'm talking about, think a pair of revolving construction/warnuing/police squad car lights about the size of an egg and USB powered)... Seemed like a perfect test, I mean I figured, okay, probably low power usage just by virtue that they run on 5Volt USB, but at the same time.. two continuous bright LEDs with a motor in each light constantly spinning the reflector disc. So, after fully charging the PowerSource mini, I plugged in the lights and turned it on. They lit immediately as usual, so I noted the time, and let them spin, and spin... and spin. Total runtime in the end? 16.5 hours. (!!)

I have fully charged my Meizu MP3 player from dead to full with the PowerSource mini, I can't say how much juice it took from the mini, but I can tell you the mini did the job, and still reported a good power level with the green indicator.

It's also a rather intelligent device with many fail-safes that automatically shut it off in bad situations, including over-voltage protection, and thermal shutoff for if the battery is getting too hot. These are great safety precautions and measures that will prevent damage to your attached devices should anything cataclysmic transpire, but too, is just plain the sign of a well engineered quality device.

I think that's just about all I can say, aside from I think it's an attractive looking device, and that it has vents for the battery on the top edge as well bottom. The mini-USB arm, as well, has a nice little indention, so you can easily swing it out, it when tucked away stays very snug in place. So I will leave it there, and simply say, I totally recommend this. If you have ANY day to day USB chargeable devices you carry, you will love this, every aspect of it. If you're on the fence, that means you think it could be useful to you, so let me tell you in no uncertain means: it is.

As I mentioned early I believe this is an older product line Duracell put out, and the new replqacement model is the PowerHouse USB Charger--and wile I don't own one of those and have never used one, I can tell you this just looking at its specs--in terms of battery capacity it is inferior to the PowerSource Mini. The PowerHouse lists a 2000MaH battery capacity compared to the PowerSource mini's 3000MaH internal battery. But regardless, the depricating of this model has driven the price way down. At the current Amazon price I see now, this is a steal. It may be older, but it can still stand on its own in function. My units are still going strong and have yet to show signs of any appreciative capacity loss. If you find you need kore juice to get through the day, you're looking at a very functional (and cheap!) option. Ipad Stylus Pen - ipad, touch screen stylus

Ok.... first let me say, I am still *new* to the whole "touch-screen" generation. I just recently got an Android Smartphone (touch screen). I do not have the slimmest fingers. Every time I "typed" or "swyped" using my finger, I was off a digit/number or two. I knew I needed a stylus - not only because of my chubby fingers, but because I'd rather have a pen-like device to write with. It's cleaner.

So I headed on over to Best Buy, only to find that they only carried ((1)) stylus (the Targus Stylus for Ipad) that was capacitive. I bought it, only to find that the tip of that stylus is just as wide, if not wider, than my own finger! What a disappointment. This was the best they could do? I would have preferred to use the Nintendo DS stylus', but they're not "capacitive" so they don't work with my LG Optimus phone. :(

I came on here in search of a stylus that had a fine tip (or at least a tip smaller than my finger!) I am disappointed that they do not make a tip that is similar to that of a pen in capacitive form (or at least, I couldn't find it) BUT - I am delighted to say that this stylus tip is indeed smaller and does what I need it to do. I like that it is long and sleek like a pen, and I especially love that the tip is "finer" than the standard stylus tip. My only complaint is that it's a little spongey when pressing down, so you do have to press a little more firmly... but then I checked the Targus stylus and it's the same with that one too (so that's just how they make capacitive stylus' I guess).

I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something a little more streamlined than their fingertip! Until they make a capacitive stylus tip that is essentially the width of a pen tip.... this is definitely a great one currently on the market. I will be uploading several pictures that I took to demonstrate the comparative size of this stylus next to a Targus stylus, and one of those pics also includes a pen with a medium point. Hope this helps someone!!! AYL (TM) Newest Generation Slim Capacitive iPad Stylus with 1 YR Warranty (Metallic Silver)

I first bought a Pogo and a Boxwave stylus and it worked well but the feeling of it when writing on the iPad was odd. So I read reviews online and found the AYL slim stylus and it is night and day compared with the other stylus pens. The AYL slim is more comfortable, more precise, longer, thinner and much smoother then the other pens that I have tried. I highly recommend it and have bought both the black and silver color for my family.

I have used many stylus pens over the last couple of years and this one is the best! Slim soft tip, barely need to touch window, great for swiping or typing. This is the latest technology I have found to date. Good for iphones or androids. Amazon sells this for a good price and the shipping was quick!

It works well and keeps the finger prints off the screen. I thought it would be a pain to keep track of, but the plastic plugin that goes into the 3.5 mm jack port keeps things together that and I use the pocket clip to clip it to the iPad cover. I think I find it faster to type with this than two hands (not easy to do on an iPad). I have dropped it more than once to no ill effect.

The stylus has a good feel and is not short like some other styluses (ie BoxWare), it is the normal length of a pen. I like the smaller rubber tip (about 5mm rather than the normal 8mm), as it allows for more precision.

The tip is made of rubber (not foam like a few are) and protrudes out of the metal pen enough that it can be used at an angle so you can see what you're doing on the screen.

Occasionally when tapping lightly, the iPad will not read the touch and I have to retap with the stylus but all in all the stylus works good. I cannot vouch for the durability as I've only had it a short while, but it seems like it will have a good useful life.

I got it to play Plants vs Zombies with so that my hand didn't constantly cover the screen, and it works like a charm. Also it works well with Penultimate as a note taking stylus.

Lastly AYL appears to be have great customer service as they have a one year warranty and inserted a card asking me to contact them if I am not satisfied in any way.

This is my first stylus purchase so i can't be too hard. I have been debating on a stylus purchase for a long time and finally made the leap. To me this stylus is OK and does was it is supposed to do. It's a bit lite and the tip is a little flimsy. While writing it seems to work better when the stylus is more horizontal than vertical so its hard to write and not bump your arm/palm onto the screen. I probably wont be buying another from a different company, as this one should do just fine. All an all i think i would suggest this product to another. all stylus are probably all the same in the long run. - Ipad - Ipad Accessories - Ipad Stylus - Touch Screen Stylus'

Racer Back Sports Bra

I already knew that Champion ran small, but this particular item is especially small. I wear a 38 d bra and this was very tight and uncomfortable, even the extra large. I may end up giving it to my daughter... Champion Women's Fitness Sports Bra,Black,Medium

I agree with the other user who mentioned that these do run a little small. Luckily, I bought them for workouts which means I've been losing weight so they fit better and better every day (I've bought two so far).

The only issue I have with the bra is that it's fairly tight so I can't wear it 8 hours a day. 3-4 hours and I need to take it off. Perfect for working out, but not to wear around all day. Unless, I suppose, you purchase one size larger than you think you need.

It's been almost 5months since I bought this item and so far so good, the elasticity is still strong in the item. It keeps my upper body together and in place.

-Feels comfortable

-Ensure to purchase your right size because it's well fitted.

I am a 34B and this bra is fine for doing yoga. The straps stay up, which is a big deal for me - I seem to have a very hard time finding bras where the straps stay put. I would recommend this bra for doing yoga, it doesn't seem to have enough support to go running in though - and if you are bigger than a B cup you may not find it supportive enough. I like that it is opaque, in warm weather you could wear it as a shirt

I have several sports bras and this one is my favorite. It is very comfortable and really helps hold things in place when I'm on the treadmill. I like that it holds me in without being uncomfortable. I normally wear a small in clothes but I got a medium based on other reviews and it fits great. It's easy to get on and off, unlike some of my other ones. I plan to get more of these since it's the first one I reach for each time.

It stated that the product was in stock and after multiple days of waiting for it to ship I was told it is out of stock. I was very disappointed as it was an item I needed in the very near future. I would never order from them again.'

Laptop Power Adapters - hp ac adapter, hp pavilion

Don't take it from me, take it from the 18+ customers who left reviews on HP's website on this product

[....]

almost exclusively 1 star reviews, and I didn't find this out until today when I went back to purchase my 3 replacement (so 4 in total) in the past year. Now i see that EVERYONE had the exact same problems. As the other reviewer said- the plug comes loose at the slightest tug for one thing. And if he had waited longer to review he might have noticed that the cord not being seated correctly eventually leads to the connector's seating becoming distressed to the point where the whole metal connector breaks off. After that- the adaptor is nothing but a paper weight.

I'm still looking for a quality replacement part for this, but havent found anything yet. This is only 1 of the several quality problems i've had with my HP laptop which I spent a lot of money on expecting good quality. Wont make that mistake again- I am no longer an HP customer. HP 90W Smart Pin Dongle AC Adapter (KG298AA)

I bought new item, but the seller sold / shipped used item. There was no packaing inside thr UPS box. And looking at the cord it's been used before, the wire was not even tied as usall new cord suppose to be. It was placed in the box with 2 docs from hp. It was false advertizing. Very disapointing seller.

The original adapter that came with the pc was damaged when my puppy chewed on it. When I ordered this adapter, it came with a dongal, which keeps falling out from even the slightest tug. Other than that, it works just as well, and now that my puppy is almost over his chewing, there should not be any problems.

The part I received didn't look like the picture. There is an additional connection in the wire before you reach the computer. It comes apart very easily. Also the connection with the computer doesn't seem to fit securely. At times it is in place, but not supplying power to the computer. I have noticed my screen dimming in and out of power save while I was working because the connection is so weak.

I bought this adapter to replace my original one that got severed. It serves its purpose very well. Unlike some of the other complaints I've read about the dongle being pulled out with the slightest of tugs, I have not had this problem. It plugs into my HP DV9000z laptop very snuggly. Quality product, and well worth the money savings. (Compared to buying from HP directly)

I always worry about buying something for my computer that is not from the manufactorer. However I will gave you the straight out on this product. I have a HP Pavillion dv6000. This power adapater works perfectly with my computer, no problems at all. This only thing is that the cord that plugs into your computer comes with an adapter so that it will fit into your pavillion dv6000. This adapater works fine, but it is extremely easy to fall out. If you move your computer while plugged, good possiblity unless you are careful that it will fall out. Other than that, the product works great and I am mostly satisfied.

The charger does work just as it is supposed to. It came as a genuine HP part and does charge the laptop. However the dongle, or part that plugs into the computer, just doesn't fit as well as the original charger did. With a slight move of the laptop, wire, or charger it will slide out a mm and that's enough for it to loose the connection and stop charging.

If you are on the move with your laptop and it doesn't sit on the desk for most of it's life I would recommend you look elsewhere. Otherwise it does a fine job at charging for a better than OEM price.

After the power adapter for my HP Pavillion dv2000 died, I was surprised to find that the manufacturer's replacement would cost me more than $60. I purchased this model instead, which to date has done the job superbly. It's light and portable, with three components-- the wall cord, which plugs into the power pack, which then connects to a short plug adapter. The company shipped two plugs, considering this product is compatible with a wide range of laptops--both of which worked, differing only slightly in size.

Overall, a good product for a good price, with well protected packaging and timely shipping.

I purchased this product from "First Tavas." Though I purchased and paid for a new product, it did not come in its original packaging and the (plain white) box contained none of the original package inserts. In addition, the cord itself is scratched and worn looking. Beware of this seller!

There are alot of 1 star reviews on here, however mine is a 5 star review! I had absolutely no problem with this adapter. The main concern everyone seems to have is in regards to the pin and dongle feature, however I was lucky enough not to need this feature. My computer required the larger/fatter pin. I am actually buying a second cord for back ups and emergencies. I am a little rough on my cords and typically go through several in a year , however this cord has lasted me some time, and I see absolutely no problems with it. If you need a 90W adapter with the standard pin, then this is definitely a great adapter. However I have used this charger in a computer that required the pin and can see why some were concerned, there is a tendency for the pin to bend if you are rough on the unit. However if you treat your laptop kindly or do not need the pin, this adapter is great. It is well constructed has an adequate length cord(comparing to aftermarket cords. Others may have complaints but I have nothing but positive things t say about this adapter, and I am a very picky person. Anything that can withstand my cord usage cant be that bad of a product, and anyone breaking the pin within the computer is not taking the care required when using a detachable pin. I will add the one problem I did see is the pin detaches easily when I used it in my other laptop. A great buy for anyone looking for a sturdy adapter( without the use of the pin). - Notebook Power Adapters - Hp Laptop Charger - Hp Pavilion - Hp Ac Adapter'

Cable Connectors - male to male, audio cable

I had ordered a 6' cable from another dealer at the same price as the pictured 2' cable. My only purpose was to connect an iPod to a portable speaker. My results were immediately wildly erratic. I was able to get a semi-clear audio signal only after extremely careful manipulation of the pin in the iPod jack, followed by periods of holding my breath so as not to disrupt the connection. My first inclination was to condemn the player, but then I remembered a recent experience with the HDMI cords connected to a Sony TV. The picture went on and off whenever someone walked into the room, causing my wife and me to condemn the TV set or the Time-Warner cable box. But then I exchanged the heavy-duty, thick HDMI cable for a thinner, lightweight HDMI cable--immediately, all problems with my television set were eliminated.

Exactly the same happened when I tossed the new 6' 3.5mm audio cable for the pictured 2' one. No fine-tuning required. Simply snap one end into the iPod, the other into the stereo speaker unit, and the communication between them was instant, complete, and secure.

I notice that different dealers sell this cable, which may or may not make a difference (for the record, my cable came from Cable Showcase/PC Part Store). The point is that, contrary to the assertions of some reviewers, all cables are not equal: it's not simply a matter of buying the cheapest version of the type of cable you require. Besides the cable itself, there's the more complicated matter of the pin with its stereo bands and the requirement of a precise and tight connection with the weight equally distributed on the entire surface of that tiny pin. The least bit of miscalculation on the part of the cable maker, and your pricey gadget could be rendered worthless, at least practically speaking. "3.5mm Stereo Male / 3.5mm Stereo Male, 2 ft"

I bought this to lengthen my MP3 player connection in my vehicle. It works flawlessly. Now i can take the MP3 to my lap or armrest and then pick it up and look at it closely when i am able to make changes and not have to look down. It is made well and has worked for six months no issues.

Now I could have gone with a more expensive, name-brand cable and rested easy in the knowledge that I had spent good money and purchased a quality cable that would connect my MP3 player to the Aux input of my car. But I chose this little $3 dollar cable. Why? Well who cares about a little interference, over the noise of an engine and the fan and the wind in a moving car? You probably couldn't tell the difference between the crackling of cable noise and the crackling of a standard car stereo system anyway. And this cable ships free in two days with Amazon Prime! I wasn't asking for all that much -- just a simple connection between point A and point B. So I bought this one.

I'll admit I was pretty excited when this package came in the mail. I love packages! Not only that, but I finally get to play my favorite driving music directly through my MP3 player (no more burning CDs). I tore open the envelope and the little plastic baggy and immediately went to test out my new cable.

The cable itself looks fine. It has a nice thick sheath made of good plastic (plenty of insulation) -- not like those earbuds you get for free with cheap MP3 players that start cutting in and out after a couple weeks. It looks much sturdier than your average stereo cable. Unfortunately this was not the case. Imagine my dismay when, after I turned on the music, I immediately found that the sound was cutting between the left and right channels, and crackled every time I moved the cable. I didn't expect wonders out of a $3 cable, but, like, aren't they at least supposed to work ONCE? Don't they test these things out of the factory or something?

Cutting open the cable, I found that while the inner wires and the jack were all perfectly good, they were held together with tiny little dabs of solder that came apart at the merest pull. You wouldn't expect that solder was the most expensive component of the cable, but given how little of it the manufacturer used, perhaps it was.

I feel like the manufacturer must have missed the point. At the only point in the assembly where the connection could go wrong (the soldering joint), he neglected to ensure that the connection was properly made. In a cable, whose only purpose is making this connection, this seems to me to be an egregious mistake.

I ended up cannibalizing the cable for the two jacks and soldering a cable myself. I went through several sets of cheap earbuds when I let the cable get to hot and melted the plastic (ruining the plug and forcing me to go find another more). But, when I was, done my home-made cable worked perfectly well -- as well as I would have expected this $3 cable to have worked. I'm happy I learned to solder out of this experience, but any other buyers of this product should beware. - Audio Cable - Male To Male - Ipod Cable - Audio Cables'

Guitar Accessories - pedal board, behringer

Years ago I owned the Boss version of this pedal. I was happy to find that Behinger's version is virtually identical in sound and operation to the Boss unit. The most important thing is that it's quiet and transparent when not in use. There's only two minor issues that keep it from getting 5 stars. One, the unit is made of plastic. It seems sturdy enough, but it's not metal. Secondly, the power input is on the side next to the input jack. Reaching the power input with your daisy chain power supply could be a little bit more of a stretch than if the input was on the top of the unit, like most pedals. Not a big deal, though. Definitely recommended. Behringer CS400 Compressor Sustainer Ultimate Dynamics Effects Pedal

The title says it all. Great performance, sub par construction. I bought this pedal for the compression and sustain, though, and am very pleased. I use it for both bass and guitar, and it processes the signals well. I am sure it would work well for other instruments or on recordings also. Cheaply made, though. I removed a spring that was seemingly attached to nothing inside the unit. The removal stopped a terrible clicking noise that would have been audible from the stage floor. Plastic encasement means the unit will likely suffer noticeable wear and tear throughout its lifetime. Wish it was better made. Audio reproduction is great!

I can't give 5 stars because behringer makes cheap shelled pedals. I play for a screamo band, and I use a lot of funk in my bass style, this thing is a beautiful thing. Awesome pedal. I don't know about the battery life, and all these behringer pedals feel one bad stomp away from being broke..the good news is that the pedal is affordable. - Guitar Pedals - Guitar Pedal - Pedal Board - Behringer'

Progesterone - hormones, progesterone cream

This is the first progesterone cream I have tried. I used Estroven which alleviated some symptoms, but made others worse -- Hot flashes were a little better, my hair stopped falling out, and my mood improved a lot, but my blood pressure went through the roof to 180+/120, I was bloated and gained 10+ pounds in a month, my blood sugar and cholesterol were up, I had bouts of depression and anxiety, my joints ached, and I had trouble concentrating and even more trouble sleeping. I was also tired all the time. At 46 I also had only 1 period in the past 10 months but none since taking the Estroven. So I weaned myself off of it and got the Femgest. I could tell it was working within the first 24 hours (hormones can and do work quickly. Just look how fast Insulin has to work!).

I went to the store prepared to buy another brand but this was packaged as a buy 1-get 1 free so I decided to try it instead. That day I blew my diet and had way too much fat, carbs, and sodium, from the bagel with cream cheese, a greasy 8" Italian sub, a hard taco, half bag of pork rinds, and lasagna with extra cheese, I should have woke up famished, lethargic, and bloated. I put on about 1/2 tsp. before going to bed and slept like a baby, had no night sweats, and awoke alert, calm (even though I overslept!), well rested, and 3 pounds lighter! I put on another 1/2 tsp. in the morning. Before noon I noticed my mind was clear, I wasn't tired and achy, and I didn't have any wild cravings! I felt a little warm a few times but not prickly hot like before.

I'm going to give it some more time and see if I'm taking too much or too little and see how my weight, periods, blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol respond.

The cream is a little sticky, but absorbs quickly and has a pleasant, light, lemon scent. It reminds me of Bath & Body's lemon and verbena. The directions recommend putting the cream on the hands and feet. I tried it on other areas, but I think I'll stick to my hands and feet because of the stickiness. I hope this helps.Femgest Progesterone Cream Value Pack 4 oz (112 g)

I am totally impressed with this company. I got my cream within a week after ordering, which is great for up here in Alaska. The item, with shipping, was about $22 compared to $30 from Fred Myers. That will add up to a lot of savings, seens how this is something I use 2 times a day for 5 days month in and month out.

My hot flashes seem to be getting worse and I really don't want to go on HRT. I remember a friend of mine had used progesterone cream and swore by it so thought I would give it a try. It seems to be helping to calm the fire I deal with especially at night. I hope it will keep things in check as I continue my journey through this phase of life so at this point I am satisfied with the product. - Progesterone Cream - Hormones - Progesterone - Menopause'

Inflatable - inflatable kayak, inflatable kayaks

This is my 2nd Sevylor Tahiti K79 Classic Kayak, the first lasted about 4 years of ocean going fun and only needed replacing when I ripped a large hole in it while transporting.

Buyer be ware of the new Tahiti Classics kayaks, they may look the same but are not!!!!! having the old one (now patched) I looked over the two side by side, and some interesting differnces showed up. First clue is the color/faberic the later model had a diffent color in looking close at the faberic it seemed cheaper. Moving on to the real problem with these new units (still called Tahiti Classic K79) The new air valve, They are really diffent. The old ones had a more standerd valve that has a cap that screws on (like what you get on most inflatable boats). The size of the old units (air inlet)were standerd in that just about any air pump could fit the hole and they wouldnt leak unless you unscrewed them 6 + turns to let the air out..THE NEW UNITS HAVE A CHEAP PLUG that looks and functions like those found on cheap pool toys. They don't have to be turned to release the air! you just tug on the plugs flap and the air gushes out. If you are not carefull and accidently whack these cheap plugs with a paddle or a shoe hits them while boarding the kayak the tube deflates real fast. Think how that might be in the middle of a lake or like me in the middle of a bay. Then there is the odd size of the air plugs hole. My trusty air pump dosent work with these new valves. When I did finally inflate the thing and got it on the water another interesting thing was observed. Fully inflated the new unit sagged in the middle with two people on board, not much, but moving over to the old unit there was no sag, thiner fabric in the new units maybe? The old K79 I would take between islands, out to sea (a mile). This new unit is best left to the family pool, what a shame Sevylor went this way with their popular and well priced K79 Classic. Look around for one of the old units they are a more darker yellow and don't have the blue colors on the side of the Kayak and of course they have screw on air caps on the plugs. I find using the new model a bit dangerous, so if you cant find one of the old models consider another brand. Sevylor Tahiti Classic Inflatable Kayak

There will be much talk of the "NEW" and the "OLD" Sevylor items, pre and post Coleman. Coleman sources different material which is ironic, since they did make boats for Sevylor in the "old days". They also insist they have a superior valve system.

Called the double valve or whatever system, it consists of a push-in valve that seals against an inside plug, and the outer valve cover closes over the open valve nozzle, providing a "double seal" that they claim is guaranteed not to leak. This works only if the inner part of the valve is pushed in completely. I like this valve on the Coleman chairs and the pool rafts, but I HATE these valves on the boats and kayaks. HATE them.

I was paddling out at Moku Nui in Kailua Bay, and it was really hot. I reached behind kayak my seat to grab my water bottle, and the handle grabbed the valve flap unbeknownst to me it looped the valve, and when I tugged on it, the entire port valve opened up, and the tube deflated at full flow, in the middle of Kailua Bay. Not panicked because I knew I would still stay afloat, I spent the next several minutes re-inflating the tube by mouth, laying down in the floor of the kayak, and having tossed my seat overboard to get onto the floor and under the rear spray deck.

Inconvenient at best, dangerous at worst. This valve system, as I mentioned, is great for pool rafts and the Coleman inflatable camp furniture, but AWFUL and quite frankly a lawsuit waiting to happen. In the unlikely event that the floor was punctured on a coral reef, and kids were in the kayak instead of me, in moderate deep water (12-25 feet) with swells, wind, etc...or even in a pool, you can imagine the potential for danger.

The kayak itself feels and looks cheaper, like it was dipped in paint and cheaply decorated. Disappointed, will be looking on ebay for the "older" model.

I have been using the Sevylor Tahiti mostly in the ocean and it has performed very well. I go with my two kids (6 and 4 years old) and I still have plenty of space for me. The skeg is a must, but there are a couple of places where you can find it for half of the price of Amazon. However be aware that this Kayak doesn't come with the paddles, pump or the skeg, so you have to buy everything separately. I found out that the Sea Eagle 330 may be a better deal because it comes with everything and you just need to enjoy it. My friend just bought a Sea Eagle - it is a little bit narrower but it looks like it is better quality than the Sevylor. I am not unhappy with mine, but next time I will get the Sea Eagle 330 and pay just 198.98, instead 140.86 + accessories (2 paddles $35.98, 1 pump $10.88, 1 skeg $21.64) I ended paying $209.36

I'm an avid canoeist/kayaker, with 30 years of mishaps on the water and problems with transporting small boats. I own a kayak and a canoe. This- while not nearly as serious as a "real" boat - is nevertheless very useful for most recreational uses. You do not need a rack for the roof of the car, and I find it perfect for near-shore day trips. People in these reviews have been critical, but they shouldn't be so harsh when you consider that this is a vinyl boat 10x less in price that a full-sized ABS canoe or sea kayak.

Pros:

- The sides, decks and floors each have their own valves. If you find yourself losing air, you'll have lots in reserve.

- The PVC Material is very durable. (as tough as it is,you still shouldn't drag it along on the beach.)

- The valves work just fine for hand pumps, and they allow for multiple fittings.

- Bright Yellow = visible. Rigid, spacious = not cramped.

- The price.

Cons:

- With two people and kayak paddles, you will be smacking each other's paddles if you're out of sync.

- There is no keel, so this boat tracks poorly. This is not a fast boat; its a Sunday ride. Expect to make correction strokes every time you crest a wave.

- The seats are "ok". I have some snap on seat backs from a kayak I use instead of the inflated backs provided.

This is a GREAT boat for short day excursions along the shore; for brief explorations. Best of all, it fits in your trunk and doesn't cost much. - Inflatable - Canoes - Inflatable Kayak - Inflatable Kayaks'

Yoga Pilates Mat Bag - rosin, starter sets

I have always had a problem with slipping while doing Yoga. I am now going to a new Yoga studio and after my very first class one of the instructors suggested that I use rosin on my hands, feet. I went to amazon to see if they sold it and sure enough they did. I read the reviews and it seemed as if the people who had purchased the Aurorae Slip Free Rosin were having great results so I decided to order a five pack for myself. Well, I used it for the first time last night and it was the first time I was able to experience Yoga without the concern of slipping! Wow what an experience! I was then able to focus on my practice and was able to hold my asanas for a good length of time without having to constantly readjust my hands or feet. Yes my yoga mat had white rosin powder all over it and yes it got on my clothes but that didn't matter to me, I was just so elated to be able to really experience Yoga the way it is intended.... with no worries or concerns. Now, I have tried other products such as the "non slip gloves and socks" as well as the "non slip (very expensive) towels" and those products did not work for me at all. This product does and I will continue to use it. I highly recommend it! Also, the customer service with Aurorae is OUTSTANDING! My products came quickly and then they also sent me an email to make sure I was happy with my purchase as well as giving me information on how to properly use their products. Now I am considering purchasing one of their yoga mats, one with a little more cushion than the one I have. I have confidence that I will be just as delighted with one of their mats as I am with their rosin!

Regarding my purchase of Aurorae Rosin. I am very happy with this rosin product. My hands and feet get very sweaty during my ashtanga class. I use a yoga towel on top of my mat. The problem with the towel is that there is no grip until it gets wet. So in order to make my towel grippy from the start, I use rosin where my hands and feet go. I thought of doing this because of my experience as a gymnast, using rosin on the balance beam. And you are the ONLY company that sells this product specifically for use in yoga. I bought one rosin bag about 6 months ago. I recently lost it and had to go without for a few classes. I definitely missed not having the rosin. SO, this time I ordered the 5 pack. I recommend to anyone who uses a yoga towel or rug and have to spray them with water at the start of class to try the rosin instead. Plus it keeps my hands grippy for postures where you have to clasp your hands or in binds where sweaty hands won't stay together.

I am very pleased with the Slip Free Rosin Bag. It completely eliminates the problem I was having with my hands slipping during Downward Facing Dog. The bags are small and easy to carry to class along with my mat and the rosin material washes off easily. I would recommend the product to anyone looking for a way to avoid slipping. - Rosin - Starter Sets - Yoga - Fitness'

Head Phones - headphones, head phones

Note: These have an excellent, no-hassle warranty. Skullcandy will replace them for any reason, whenever - just go to their website, register your product, and fill out the warranty form.

Firstly, I want to mention a few important tidbits that I think you should know.

1. Pay attention to the L and R on these earbuds, which can be hard to see. Do not reverse them, as doing so can affect fit and sound quality.

2. Don't assume you know which gel size will fit you best; make sure you try on all 3 gel sizes that come with these, as using the wrong size can dramatically decrease sound quality and comfort. For myself, I automatically went with the smallest size because my ears are small, but those made the earbuds sound like cheap garbage. It wasn't until I tried the next size up did I get the full quality of sound that these are designed for. So pay attention to this, since it really matters.

3. These have a straight plug, not an L-shaped plug. So you will need to be extra careful as a straight-plug design increases the amount of pressure both on the plug, and the headphone jack of your player. This leads to frayed wires or a loosening of the headphone jack, or both, which ultimately lead to the classic problem of only one side having sound.

4. The cord is long - measures approximately 4 feet, 5 inches.

5. Burn-in works with these. Slightly.

Now, as for the build quality - I'm impressed. They are not cheaply made ear-buds, despite their low price. The wires are nice and solid, and feel very well made - not flimsy or plastic-y. The silicone gels (tips that go in your ear) are very soft and pliable, and even have the Skullcandy logo engraved on them. Nice touch.

They feel good, too. Really good. Both the material, and the way they fit my annoyingly small ears. And they don't fall out constantly, although I do sometimes get the sensation that it's getting sucked into my left ear.

And yes, these come with 3 different size gels.

Sound is great. These handle bass extremely well for mid-tier earbuds, and highs aren't so shrill and piercing as with other comparable brands. Some of this really depends on your player, too. Even between iPods, sound quality does differ.

As far as functionality goes, I find I am able to run with these with no problem. The wires do not get tangled, and you can easily adjust the split in them with an attached slider (that has 'Skullcandy' written on it in the corresponding colour), which I find very convenient. I do not hear this thumping sound that others claim to hear from wire-movement, so I can't confirm that.

The only things I dislike are the straight plug, and the lack of a case. Otherwise, I am thoroughly impressed with Skullcandy. The craftsmanship, the quality of sound, and all the little extras that Skullcandy does that really lets you know that they are paying attention, and that they care about their products and end-users.

Worth every penny. Skullcandy INK'd Earbuds S2INCZ-039 (Orange)

Purchased the headphones about a week ago and I'm very pleased. I previously had the JVC Marshmallows and loved those headphones, but one of the earbud sleeves came off and the new JVC's are designed differently so I decided to give these a try. They produce very clear sound with solid bass. I was also surprised by the fit on the silicon caps that come with these. I have a difficult time finding silicon caps that will stay in my ear so I usually stick to foam, but these headphones came with three different sizes of caps and the smallest size fits and stays in without a problem. I will also say that I bought the Comply Foam Tips recently and am currently using those on these headphones (since I already had them) but once these wear out then I will stick with the silicon tips that came with these headphones because they will probably last longer. All in all, great purchase!

I purchased my Skullcandy Ink'd ear buds almost two years ago, and now that I need to lay them to rest I thought I would write a review on them.

First off, don't think that they are cheaply made because mine broke. From what I have been reading, two years is a good deal of time to have working headphones, especially at the low price of under 20 bucks! If I have to say, I provably contributed to the heavy wear of the jack that plugs into my computer (it is in the front of my laptop, so when the computer slides close to my lap the jack gets pinched).

Construction:

--

Being my first pair of non-stock earphones, I don't really have much to say in terms of construction, but as previously mentioned they lasted a helluva long time, so that should carry some weight. Speaking of weight, these buds feel light, but not so much that they feel cheap. Even after a couple of years the wires are intact, and I have had no problems with them up until a couple days ago (one ear bud stopped working, probably due to abuse). The only problem I would say has carried any weight in this department has to be the the fact that the rubber coated wires make a noticable sound through the buds when tapped or rustled (almost sounds like a heartbeat). This could probably be fixed with some comply foam tips instead of the stock silicone ones.

Sound Quality:

--

I listen to a variety of music genres through these things, and I can safely say that the sound quality is great across the spectrum. Anything from the highs and mids from classical to the deep undulating bass from dub-step can be heard clearly. They might not hold in a battle against some $100+ buds, but for this price they are awesome.

All in all, I am rating the Ink'd buds a 4/5, only because of the sound producing wires (see 'Construction'). If I could give it a 4.5 I would. - Head Phones - Ear Buds - Headphones - Earbuds'

Dog Nail Clippers - pet clippers, pet grooming tool

I've worked with dogs for years and as a result am very particular about nail clippers. Not only are these clippers comfortable to use but they can get into tight spaces and give you more control. On top of that they give you a nice clean cut. Safari Professional Pet Nail Trimmer, Small/Medium

One of my dogs has this weird nail that doesn't contact the pavement when she walks. It was actually growing into a curl and she wouldn't let me file it off. I needed something that would be quick and painless.

These trimmers did the job.

I assume I'd like these more if my dog enjoyed getting his nails cut. I've used it on my dog, my moms, and my aunts. All three of them are idiots when cutting their nails. I feel like I had to use more force than I did using my old, cheapo clippers though. And It didn't cut as "Clean" as it was supposed to. And if I didn't press hard enough it sort of "ripped" the nail end off.

I'm going to try these several more times. But they're no miracle, thats for sure.

Our new clippers arrived today, and we tried them out immediately with great success. The stop guard on the clippers is a great feature that keeps you from cutting too short and also takes away a lot of the stress from the chore. I used to be very timid with our old trimmers, afraid to hurt my puppy. These clippers were very sharp and cut through the nail cleanly. No flinching from me or my dog! Definitely recommended.

It clips very well and easy. I have a terrier so his nails are not very thick to begin with. However, the safety feature is a waste. It's too far off (so I'd cut into the quick if I were to rely on it) and it gets in the way of my seeing what I'm doing.

For me with a small dog, this is an ok buy that does the job, but I would prefer a more heavy/solid clipper for my own comfort. I was surprised at how small and light this was (for something labeled "professional" grade).

I bought these for my dogs, in which I have 5 of them. This is standard size, but still works great for my greyhound and lab and smaller dog. Its sharp, and quick and I love the grip. Very glad I purchased this nail trimmer!!

I use these clippers on my cat and they do the job well. The guard on the back is reassuring as it prevents you from cutting the nails back too far. However, because my cat is still a kitten, even if I cut to the guard it would still be too far. But regardless, the clippers are very sturdy and work really well. I am very pleased.

I'm not a dog grooming pro by any means, but I needed a good sharp clipper for my small dog's dewclaws. These did the trick with no trauma to either one of us. I think that you need to be decisive in your movements and give the claws a good fast snip. The nail guard will help keep you from going too short. In all, a great purchase. - Grooming Tools - Pet Clippers - Pet Grooming Tool - Dog Nails'
