Combination Co2 Smoke - carbon monoxide, first alert

Our house was wired for smoke detectors -- specifically the rather cheesy BRK 4120SB, which delights in false "low power" chirping. My goal was to replace the ones in the bedrooms with combination alarms that would alert us not only to smoke but to the presence of carbon monoxide. (Not to scare you but harm and even death from carbon monoxide poisoning are definite risks, especially in a home with deep-sleeping teenagers.)

I needed units that would be compatible with the wiring of our current system, and ideally ones that would accept the power leads, as wired. After some research here and elsewhere, I called the BRK help line and got definite information about the unit that would be compatible, as well as locations within the home where I both should and should not install units.

I ordered two units to start with, still being a bit leery of my previous experience, and can say that installation took less than 5 minutes per device.

1. Follow the instructions for removing the plastic tab in the battery door of your new unit and pushing the button to test your new unit. If all's well, proceed. Disregard the "locking pin" stuff unless you are in a shared dwelling and are concerned with someone walking off with your 9-volt battery. (This was the weirdest part of the instructions, frankly, and this is my guess on why it's there.) **Important: you are listening for 3 tones, pause, 3 tones, pause, 4 tones, pause, 4 tones. There is a typo at the bottom of page 3 of the instructions, so I've just verified with BRK that the tone pattern I'm mentioning is the correct one.

2. Twist off and unplug your current unit.

3. Back the two screws holding your collar to the ceiling so you have enough clearance to remove the collar.

4. Install the new collar.

5. Install your new unit. (A wired plug is included in case you need to swap your existing plug for the new plug.)

Fellow owners of the 4120SB will find that the upgraded unit sets and locks into place in the ceiling *much* easier and more reliably. Ditto with the battery door. Note that on the SC9120B, if you're having problems with the battery door not shutting (a) there is a little trigger tab that you should be able to push down with a fingernail and/or (b) hold the unit upside-down.

***A word, please, about longevity, since the primary purpose of an alarm is your safety.

1. Replace your batteries at least once a year.

2. Combo smoke/carbon monoxide units have a 5-year life span, per BRK staff. Regular smoke alarms have a 10-year lifespan. Not replacing them within these timespans is, in my opinion, the most dangerous kind of false economizing. (Note also that if you need help, the BRK customer service apparently has improved greatly since the experience of earlier reviewers of the product line. The call I made in June could not have been more thorough and professional, even to dealing with the phantom beeps of my 5-year-old alarms.)

3. Whether or not you buy this or any smoke alarm product, please do yourself and your family two favors. First, label the plug (hidden) side of your units with the install and replace dates. Second, change your batteries at least once a year.

BTW, I gave the unit a 4 rather than a 5 because while the battery door and twist-on/twist-off issues are less irritating than on the earlier generation, they still do exist. First Alert SC9120B Hardwire Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm with Battery Backup

Received three BRK SC9120B replacements after original units (4 years old) started a low battery chirp with new Duracell batteries. Spoke with BRK rep. about problem and they sent three new units with Duracell batteries. The units worked fine for about two weeks before all three started to chirp a low battery signal. In that time our other three BRK smoke only detectors that were installed 4 years ago started the same chirping sound. Again called BRK and they were going to send us three replacements for them. After the nightmare of having six four year old BRK products fail in a matter of three weeks and three brand new replacement units fail in two weeks. I would stay away from BRK! I have read elsewhere about an issue with BRK and Duracell so I was a bit surprised when the new units arrived with Duracell batteries in them.

I have a rental property and this year, the city's new regulation required installation of these detectors. One of the detectors malfunctioned and the terrified tenant called 911, who proceeded to do over 1000 dollars in property damage.

I subsequently found out that even the EPA has admitted that many of the CO detectors they tested were unreliable, and either went off at too low of a level or did not sound at dangerously high levels.

According to their website, the best way to keep the building's inhabitants safe is to have fuel-burning appliances properly installed and maintained by licensed professionals to make sure that the gases (including CO) are vented properly.

I ended up doing a lot of research related to CO as a result. I have the documentation from the Fire Department indicating the levels that they measured (WAY BELOW the low threshold on the detector) even near the detector.

I knew that a problem was unlikely since the heat wasn't even ON at the time.

Nevertheless, they broke into two apartments, destroying irreplaceable historic doors and frames. Even the fire chief told me that if I have a hard-wired smoke detector/CO detector combo, I should get it replaced as they have had false alarms with that type of detector. But as mentioned on the EPA website, and evidenced by many other reviews on Amazon etc, CO detection is apparently in it's infancy and I'm surprised that these detectors are even being sold, much less required by law.

Unfortunately, according to my lawyer, it's more trouble than it's worth to sue the city, so I had to suck up the CONSIDERABLE expenses myself. Not to mention my poor tenant, who was (unharmed of course) but anxious.

I am so ANGRY, but the only thing I can do apparently is to WARN other people about these alarms. If you have one in your house and there's a false alarm, that's one thing. But if a tenant has a false alarm, you are vulnerable in many different ways.

The WORST thing about this type of alarm is that if the CO part malfunctions, you've lost your smoke alarm as well. In addition, since it's installed high on the ceiling, if it false alarms, you have to get on a ladder to turn the thing off.

I would not recommend the first alert smoke/CO alarm to ANYONE. - First Alert - Smoke Alarm - Brk Brands - Carbon Monoxide'

Cpu Processors - 950, intel

Contrary to popular belief, CPU chip fabrication is really an imprecise art, and manufacturing perfection cannot be found in this industry. The same series of chips, in this case the i7 900 series, are all manufactured from the same wafer. Whether or not they get the extreme designation and specified number is based on testing done on each chip after the fabrication process is complete. However not every chip is tested for a specific range in the series (e.g. 975).

Like any company, Intel has manufacturing quotas, so a certain number of 975s have to be produced each month, but beyond that, they don't run the harder tests involved with the 975s. So in reality, you could technically get a 965 or a 975 in the 950 mix, assuming all quotas were met for any chips above 950 in that particular month of fabrication. The main reason for this is due to the limited demand on the 965s and 975s. In the end, it's more-or-less the luck of the draw.

Technically, this means you could by chance end up with a 920 that matches the quality of a 950 or higher. However, the chances are more likely that you could get a 975-quality from a 950 batch, since both would come from the same vicinity on the wafer (that vicinity being the area that consistently yields the best chips) whereas the 920s are coming from a known lesser-quality area of the wafer. The 920s typically are the bottom of the barrel in the series.

So if you're absolutely picky and you must have top-of-the-line equipment, definitely go with the 975 or one of the other extreme edition CPUs, because you're guaranteed to receive a chip of the highest quality (assuming you can afford it).

However, if price is any concern at all, but absolute top performance is certainly not an issue, go with a 950 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002A6G3V2?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8) and take your chances on getting something better, especially if you're considering overclocking. It really all depends on your cooling solution, settings and the chances of drawing something better than the label suggests, but from what I've seen the chances are actually pretty decent.

I've benchmarked the 975, 965 and 950, all overclocked. The 975 ran only 1.8% faster than the 950, but the 950 ran even better than the "extreme" 965. In the end, I was certainly satisfied with the results of the 950 for the price. For anyone on the fence with price vs performance, you certainly won't be dissatisfied with the 950. Even if you have the extra cash to plop down on the 975, save your money and get an SSD with the extra cash flow. That's where the real bottleneck is in computing these days, and you shouldn't ever run such a top-of-the-line system without having a high-speed hard drive!

For those who are curious, here is what I chose for my machine's final configuration:

Mobo: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KA9PZK?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8

CPU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002A6G3V2?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8

Cooler: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KUV2KQ?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8

Memory: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VNLDN8?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8

Hard Drive (SSD): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IGT7IU?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8

PSU: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001M3G42W?tag=a52-20&ie=UTF8 Intel Core i7-950 Processor 3.06GHz 8 MB Cache Socket LGA1366

The best thing about the Core i7-950 besides its incredible benchmark performance and rock solid overclock ability, is that it's price tag keeps dropping, and with Sandybridge processors just about to enter the market, they'll only get cheaper from here on out. Boasting 4 cores and 4 threads, these are beast CPUs that have to be taken into consideration for any serious gaming rig or video rendering build. I bought this processor on a really nice deal at a local computer store--sorry Amazon but the price difference was too significant--and have been happily enjoying my new computer build for a while now.

OVERCLOCKING:

In a word: easy. If you know something about overclocking older intel chips (dual and quad core 45nm and 65nm chips), you'll find that while some things have changed (bclock vs FSB) many others work about the same, and in particular managing Vcore, RAM timings, and micro-tweaking voltages to get the most out of your chip. There are many, many excellent resources on enthusiast boards that will guide you through the process--just employ Google to get the information you need. Most i7 chips OC about the same, so even a i7-920 guide will get you pointed in the right direction.

Suffice it to say I was able to achieve a solid 4.07ghz 24hr Prime95 stable system with temperatures never north of 78C. I idle at about 45C, and gaming pushes my temps into the high 50s or low 60s. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the overclock, and the relative ease with which I arrived there.

PERFORMANCE:

Stellar across the board. I have a gaming rig with a crossfire arrangement which I also use for video editing, photo editing, streaming media files throughout my house (using PlayOn and several WD TV Live devices). I can play any game I want with the PlayOn media server running, Torrents running, and still not hit 50% CPU usage. Really the only time I use 100% of this chip's capacity is when testing out an overclock using Prime95, or when I run a synthetic benchmark. Real world usage, with the exception of video rendering or other CPU intense tasks, will not use half of what this chip has to offer.

VALUE:

The i7 chips have been coming down in price for a while now, and with the current sub $300 prices on the 950, I can't see a better value out there on an intel chip if one plans to overclock. Why spend 2-3x more for an "extreme" edition chip when you can get one of these and overclock it as high or higher? There are numerous people overclocking these chips into the 4.5ghz range, some of them on air! If you want a great CPU to build a computer around, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option for a 4-core processor.

CONCLUSIONS:

Buy yourself one. - 950 - I7 - Cpu - Intel'

Animal Stories

I have been getting this magazine since 1986, and enjoy every issue. It is always packed full of useful information on dogs. It not only covers the purebred dogs, but mixed breeds as well. Each month there is at least one featured breed of dog and a poster to accompany it. It also includes advertisement for "doggy" things, breeders ads and AKC show schedules. Dog Fancy (1-year auto-renewal)

My mom used to subscribe to this magazine when I was growing up. I used to read it often throughout my adolesence. However I always found the magazine to be lacking. (Quality, Information.) Now some 10 years later I decided to try the magazine out once again. Since there has been some recent hype going around about it. I got this months newsstand -- April -- issue and the Special Puppy issue. I am in Love! It seems the Dog Fancy has improved by leaps and bounds since my last read. Now it contains an enormous ammount of extremely helpful information as well as stories and such to entertain you.

I love this magazine because it gives you all the nessacary information about a certain breed that you like. It feature 3 different breeds a month and I can't wait to see which breeds are next! It also gives a helpful breeder selection in the back. You can look for the breeds name and it will give you a list of breeders to choose from! This magazine is great for learning more about dogs, some diseases and fun you can have with mans best friend!!

Each month I am so excited when I receive my DF issue! I always read it cover to cover and learn so much about how to properly care for my dog. It has wonderful training tips and expert methods, talks about finding the right diet, profiles different breeds, and even provides stories and news straight from the dog world. And so much more! Another reason I like it so much is because I sent in two letters, and they published them both! That was exciting. I always learn something new with each issue! So I suggest you subscribe to DF if you are a dog lover, a dog owner, or both (like me).

I love this magazine. Amazon.com's price is great-better than the publisher's price. I am a dog enthusiast, and this magazine is my favorite. The articles on specific breeds of dogs are great, you can learn a lot about the dog you want from them. The other articles are also great, especially the health realated ones. I highly recommend this magazine.

Dog Fancy is an excellent magazine for all parents of the furry four-legged tail waggin' love bugs out there. It is very informative and I, myself, refer to previous magazines all the time. It's your own personal library full of information that you can use now and even in the future. I've subscribed to Dog Fancy and Dog World. Dog World is for parents who are mainly in dog shows and agility. While Dog Fancy is for the average parent who is not in the sports realm. I love Dog Fancy magazine and I know that parents who love their "kids" as much as I love mine, will enjoy this magazine as much as I do.

Dog Fancy is the world's most popular dog magazine and it is a publication I have been reading for more than ten years. I first learned of Dog Fancy when I got an offer in the mail to receive a few trial issues free of charge. Since I am a dog owner and confessed dogaholic, I gladly accepted the offer and have been reading Dog Fancy on and off ever since.

This magazine has gradually improved over the years and it now stands as one of my favorite magazines. What I like most about Dog Fancy is the fact that it makes every effort to cover something of interest to any dog owner- casual or serious- in every single issue. This is one of the reasons why Dog Fancy contains so many monthly departments. It has more departments than most other magazines and while the number might seem excessive at first, it is nice that so many different topics are covered. No matter what you want to learn, discover, or discuss about dogs, you can find something related to your interest in every issue.

Dog Fancy offers advice on dog care, tips on behavior modification, coverage of dog shows, and profiles of different breeds. Each issue of Dog Fancy features a photo of a specific breed on the cover with a full article on the inside that discusses the breed, its personality, and its characteristics. In addition to the dog on the cover, there are other breed profiles, too, and in the center of each issue is a colorful pull- out poster of the featured breeds. Kids, in particular, love this pull- out and many will want to grab it and place it on the refrigerator or on their bedroom wall.

Dog Fancy has lots of departments and features and one way the magazine helps readers find articles of interest is through its "On the Cover" diagram. This helpful feature shows a small snapshot of the cover along with arrows pointing to each article mentioned on the cover and the page to turn to find the article. This is very helpful. I cannot count the number of magazines I have read that include a teaser message on the front cover that piques my interest but then buries the related article somewhere inside. Dog Fancy has eliminated that problem once and for all with this very helpful diagram. If it's on the cover and you want to read about it, you can find the article in a matter of seconds.

Another way that Dog Fancy is very helpful is with its classified ads. Now, I admit that I don't usually look at classified ads in magazines and I rarely endorse them. But Dog Fancy has one unique classified feature: Its Dog Breeder Directory. Here, a person can lookup a breed and then quickly get in touch with a breeder. Finding a puppy is easy if you're looking for a common breed like a Golden Retriever, Poodle, Labrador Retriever, or Cocker Spaniel. But what if you want a rare breed like a Catalan Sheepdog, Sloughi, or Beauceron? These dogs and others like them are so rare it may be impossible to find one in your area. But Dog Fancy's Dog Breeder Directory helps link breeders with buyers, letting potential owners know who to contact to find the desired breed.

Dog Fancy is an informative, helpful magazine that makes a great choice of reading material for dog owners of all stripes. Whether you're a dog breeder, a dog show enthusiast, or just a casual dog owner you will find something of value in Dog Fancy. It is my favorite dog magazine and its one I recommend to anyone with even the slightest interest in the subject of canines.'

Disappointing - duke nukem, games

With so many duke predecessors this game had a lot of hype to live up to. With the option of link up, it is well worth purchasing the game with a few friends and playing all through the night. However the one player mode is repetitive and flawed. With many similar situations arising the game becomes predictable and easy. The controls can be hard to grasp at first with too much to do in such a short period of time So if you do not own any other Duke Nukem games and you have some fellow Playstation owning friends then this game is well worth buying! Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown

Total Meltdown is the console version of Duke Nukem 3D with an additional scenario (but not the Plutonium Pack).Duke has just been shot down to find aliens in control of Earth and they are trying to take out women. This does not make Duke happy so he must try and stop the aliens.Play is in first-person shooter mode (like in Doom) and handles pretty nicely. Added to this game, and missing from so many shooters, is a level of humor as Duke wisecracks his way through the game. The controls are not bad but luckily you never have to run, shoot, jump to stay alive. You always seem to have some time to remember the L1, L2, R1 and R2 buttons. All in all this was a very successful port of the PC game to a console. Games load and save at about the same speed as the original did at its release.

Today i saw this game at the store for 12 bucks, and i'm gonna pick it up since i have a PS2. I rented it 2 times (after that the dumb stores got rid of their copies) and it was better than the sega saturn version. The graphics didn't have the neat lighting effects, but the game was a whole lot more like the pc version. If you have a PC get that version, if you have a ps2 get this version, or both. I'm probably one of the biggest Duke fans in my area, i have the origional Duke 3D for PC, the Atomic Edtion , The sega saturn version(my 1st copy), Duke Manhatten Project, Time to Kill, Land of the Babes, the Duke Nukem album, all of the Duke Nukem action figures, The Duke Nukem screen saver pack, and now this. As the great Duke would say "Holy S@$T!" Any way if you are one of the few who don't have a PS2 yet here's what will happen to this game.. You know how these losers say the game looks flat? Lie! You know how they say the N64 version looks better? They fogot to tell you the game is cut up (no nude chix), and the textures are super-low res. But with this vesion, when you set up your PS2 for smooth texture mapping, it will make all the "2D" images get smooth edges, and the textures will be nice and smooth. Since the game is almost all sprites(which isn't realy a bad thing at all, easier to edit on pc) Every image on screen will look close to a PS2 game! The reason i don't give this 5 stars is because you can't edit it like the PC version.

Duke Nukem games are old and repetitive. But you know what? WHO CARES!? No matter how old and repetitive Duke Nukem gets, it's still awesome. That's due to the fact that DUke Nukem can make ANYTHING and EVERYTHING look good. Hell, he can even make taking a dump look awesome! The one thing I've noticed about Duke over the years is that he doesn't have and hair on his balls, then I realized that hair doesn't grow on steel!

do i really need to say anything else? classic duke nukem game. one of the first i played for the playstation. great fps with decent graphics for its time. and of course the classic duke nukem "battle cries" always make me laugh.

good classic imo.

Unless I'm mistaken, this version of Duke Nukem (3D) came out a couple of years after the PC version, yet the graphics and animation were much better playing this on my old 486dx2-66 at the lowest graphic mode settings. This PSX version is really ugly, and I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to having fun playing Duke Nukem again after all these years. Do yourself a favor and play this on the PC instead -- not only are the PC graphics much better (even on a low-end Pentium) but the controls are much better too (keyboard beats joystick for 1st person shooters any day).

I don't see how any body can't like this game. I remember when the playstation first came out and this was the first game i got. I thought it was the coolest game ever, and i still think it's my favorite playstaion game. And im 17 now. It's a classic duke nukem game, i know the graphics aren't the best and a lot of the stuff is cheesy about the game, but regardless it's fun to play, and is easily a classic. :)

I have this particular game for both PC and PSX, and the PC version is much better. The playstation version is choppy and has very akward controls. I truely believe that for 98 cents its a good buy, but the most fun idea would be to throw it out of a car bus ect. instead of actually playing it. for a good FPS get The World Is Not Enough, or Quake II - Games - Fps - Duke Nukem - Disappointing'

Writing Instruments - penagain, pencils

These pencils are awesome for my son who is living with PDD (Autism Spectrum). I would recomend them to any one who's child is in OT (Occupational Therapy), as my son is. He's unable to fully grip a normal pencil but with the style of the "Twist N' Write" pencils it has help him write more legablly and he enjoys using them. I have tired them myself and accually enjoy them as well. it makes writing a lot freer, and you don't find yourself gripping them too hard. TWIST N' WRITE PENAGAIN CHILDRENS PENCILS, 4PK

Both the pen and pencils are great! I tried it because I write all day at work and have always struggled with proper pen grip and writers cramp. I have tried every type of ergonomic pen and grip. This is by far the best. It takes getting used to, but in the end it really helps. At first my writing was messier because I was not used to it, now it is much neater than before I started using it. You do not have to grip the pen tightly, like with regular pens. It may not be for everyone, but give it a try. You can buy them for $[...] at Walgreens. Walgreens also has the pencils, which I bought for my 9 year old daughter. She holds her pencils incorrectly just like I do. She also has been struggling with writers cramp. She absolutely loves the pencils, it makes such a difference. The ink seems fine to me, but the coating has started chipping off. Not sure it matters though, since you can replace them easily at Walgreens.

This pencil, twist and write, is great. I bought it for my daughter who is in Kindergarten and was just not writing properly. And within a month of using it, her handwriting has improved drastically enough so that her teacher asked me where could she buy some for others in the class that were having a hard time writing. The price is just right to purchase on line as you get so many. I looked around town where I live and where the manufactures website says this pencil can be purchased at but none of the places had ever heard of the pencil twist and write only the pen.

As an occupational therapist I am always looking for unique writing tools for children. The Twist N' Write Penagain Children's Pencils style has been in an ink pen form helping children to use three fingers instead of all five. The pencil has been an adjustment but the children are trying to adjust their grip. The pressure on the lead has lessen and there are less tremor patterns. It's worth a try.

These pencils were a big hit at Christmas (although the electronic competition was everywhere). I hope the young writers will learn "the right way to write." The adults tried them, too and proclaimed them "cool"with a comfortable "grip" and no fatigue.

TWIST N' WRITE PENAGAIN CHILDRENS PENCILS, 4PK Bought this product for 7 year old nephew with ADHD. He loves his 'special' pencil, loves the colors, fits his small hands, never needs sharpening. Notice his penmanship has improved, getting work done quicker and finds excuses to use his pencil.

Gave some to his SDC teacher, says she noticed difference also. With budget cuts to school system I will try to assist by keeping them supplied with this excellent tool since the price is right and it does help!

I have raved about the PenAgain to everyone with children, his therapist even ordered some to see the benefits.

This makes a excellent stocking stuffer, good with favor bags for parties, easter baskets, back-to-school supply kits, rewards, great trick-or-treat handouts, list is endless.

Buy some, watch their eyes light up with the colors available, see how quickly they adapt to using the PenAgain and the improvement of their work. You will be as hooked as I am, best thing on the market! - Penagain - Writing Utensil - Ergonomic - Pencils'

The Rolling Stones - classic rock, dvd

Although I am not a 'wild nut' type of Stones fan I saw this concert at the Orange Bowl, in Miami, and Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, et. al. are THE consumate professional showmen giving the audience more than their money's worth performance. Even though Mick may be getting a little long in the tooth for rock concerts (aren't we all) and rumours have it that Keith Richards is really dead, you could see and feel that this band loves performing, and would put together a 5 hour show if they could. The band shows up on time, (something very unusual now a days for rock star wanna be's) and rocks your socks from beginning to end, non-stop. The DVD brought back memories of that performace and did not fall short in any respects. The video is crystal clear, sound is exact and sharp, and the editing absolutely fabulous. The director seemed to know where one would be looking during the concert and it made me feel as if I was back there again.... some of the editors of concert videos that I have seen had no clue as to where and when to focus attention during the concert .....Although I would give 'Voodoo Lounge' concert DVD a slight edge, (I mean a very very slight edge) over Babylon, trust me, this is a must have DVD that will, like Voodoo, go out of print and you'll be buying the DVD for 50.00 bucks just to have it in your collection...... The Rolling Stones - Bridges to Babylon

This is a MUST HAVE if you like the Rolling Stones. This DVD has excellent sound quality and visual quality. This is the best Rolling Stones DVD on the market. This covers 40 years of hits with today's dvd technology.

The Stones put on a great show and it's captured beautifully on video but this DVD is lacking in a few things that would have really made it special. First of all, why no DTS sound? If you're not sure what this can add to a concert video, watch the DTS version of The Eagles "When Hell Freezes Over" and compare it with this or another non-DTS DVD (provided your player supports DTS). The other minor complaint is there are no bonus features (ie. interviews, backstage scenes, music videos, etc) that would have added greatly to the live performance. It's as though the makers of this DVD did not realize the potential of the format they were using. A few little additions would have made this one of the all-time greats. I'd still recommend this DVD to any Stones fan because it's wonderful to see Mick, Keith and the boys in this format and the concert itself is a fantastic performance. I just hope the next time they release a DVD, it has more bells and whistles.

This solid show has some great moments. The 10 minute Miss You version here is the best available, with the whole band acting like they never want it to end. Lisa Fischer, the awesome support singer, is in rare form as she and Mick bump and grind all over the stage. She gets in everybody's business on this one. Surprisingly, Miss You doesn't appear on Four Flicks. Neither does Its Only Rock and Roll, which is a highlight from the B-stage here. Also is a terrific Wild Horses duet with Dave Matthews and Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone-performed better here than on Stripped. Another highlight is Keith's I wanna Hold You, from Undercover. The sound is a slight step down from Four Flicks, but certainly great for when it was released. At the end we get a blazing Juming Jack Flash with Mick sporting cool shades and Keith and Ronnie weaving in and out like they're trying to outdo themselves. Lots of Fun!

Here you'll find Mick, Keith and the boys together with some "cool friends" doing what they do best. ROCK & ROLL!

They have the lovely & talented Lisa Fischer on backup vocals. She really used her "assets talents," all of them. Her voice hits all of those amazing notes that few singers will ever hope aproach.

The "really cool" Joshua Redmond joins in with his saxophone.

Lets not forget the inovative theatrics that we've come to expect from the Stones. The never disapoint me in that area. In this film they do actually cross "a bridge" to Babylon.

If you love the Stones and you love seeing them live or wish you could, this is a great way to see them!

All right, I admit it. I am a huge fan, (can't fool you) since the begining. I've spent more than I'll admit this year on concert Tickets, T-Shirts and DVD/CDs. Not to mention plane tickets!

The Rolling Stones, thirty years after their prime, are still the best live act in the world, bar none. This concert, which was originally telecast as a pay-per-view concert in December 1997, is indisputable proof. They still have their edge, they still give it everything they've got in live performance, and their sell-out concerts are proof of it. All music acts should look at this concert to see how hard work, huge talent, and impeccable professionalism is done. The Rolling Stones are the masters of live performance.I spent the twenty dollars it cost for the pay-per-view telecast and even taped it over the air. I have seen it at least 60 times and still love it. What struck me is, despite his age, Mick Jagger still has tremendous energy to play so well in front of an audience (and this concert was late in the evening, finishing after midnight). It takes a great deal of energy to be able to go back and forth on a stage about the size of a football field and under those hot lights. Not only that but he looked the best he ever looked in his life. About 25 pounds heavier than in his youth, Jagger was filled out, and, for being a member of a band not known for pulchritude, actually looked almost attractive. The rest of the band was in fine form, too, and contrary to some reviews, Keith Richards does not looked bored here. He was very much animated and seemed to enjoy himself. The concert consists of a mix of both old hits and more recent songs, with three of the original concert tunes cut out of the DVD version ("Corinna," with Taj Mahal--not a high point of the show; one of Keith Richards' songs; and "The Last Time," which should probably be the last time for this tune as Jagger and company can no longer hit the notes). What remains is still great, with the second half of the concert being slightly better than the first half. Highlights include "Saint of Me," "Gimme Shelter," "Honky Tonk Women," "Jumping Jack Flash," "Start Me Up," "You Can't Always Get What You Want," and a rousing finish in "Brown Sugar." Personal favorites of mine include Keith Richards' "I Wanna Hold You," featuring Keith duelling guitars with the underrated Ron Wood (in super form here), and an absolute killer version of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" performed during the small stage sequence. There is only one complaint I have about this disk which others have said elsewhere, and that's the sound quality. Where in the world were the microphones set up for the soundtrack? It sounds as if it had been recorded clear in the back of the building. Jagger and his backup singers sound like they are in a cave. The sounds of the audience should have been muted by having the mikes put in an appropriate place. I still have my tape of the original pay-per-view telecast, and the sound quality on that is perfect with NO distortion. I strongly recommend the makers of this DVD get hold of the original soundtrack from the pay-per-view telecast and replace this dreadful one. - Mick Jagger - Dvd - The Rolling Stones - Classic Rock'

Power Tools

This is an outstanding book. It is well written, well organized, has excellent graphics and pictures, and serves a much needed role in most woodshops. White would have been a great engineer. His jigs and measurement techniques are clever, well documented, and easy to make and use. I found myself smiling several times at the ingenuity of his low-cost (and effective!) solutions to high-cost measurement tools. I have a middle-of-the-road chinese knock off table saw that wasn't cutting well (burns and lots of resistance). I made the jigs and went through the tune up procedure in an evening, and the saw performs much better afterwards. I would like have heard White's recommendations for storage, cleaning, and top protection (e.g., waxing vs. oiling ground surfaces), as well as his tips and comments for shop safety, but they are justifiably outside the scope of this book. Overall an excellent book that I am very glad to have stumbled upon. Care and Repair of Shop Machines: A Complete Guide to Setup, Troubleshooting, and Maintenance

I've been having some problems getting my jointer tables aligned properly, and happened upon this book by accident. What luck! This book is full of great info on tune-ups and alignment. John White goes in depth into the set up and alignment of primary power tools (jointer, planer, table saw, bandsaw, router table, drill press and miter saw). His writing is clear, easy to understand and follow, with plenty of very descriptive pictures. The book is very complete on each of the tools covered. I truly appreciated that he used many shop-built jigs and common tools to get things done.

What can I say, the chapter on setting up your jointer is worth the price of the book by itself. The pictures and the diagrams are great, easy to understand, and the text is informative and easy to read. This book makes you a better woodworker, because your tools will be correctly set up, which also makes them more fun to use and much safer.

I would recommend this book to you, even if you do not own the tool, but are looking at getting into woodworking, with this book you will be better able to understand how the various tools work, and you can buy decent used tools and tune them up, saving you a bundle!

Great book!!

John White does a great job with nice illustrations. I recommend this to anyone with a woodworking machine. It's amazing how far off your tools are until you set them up correctly. You'll save time and money by making better cuts the first time when the tool is setup correctly. It's amazing we take the time to measure an angle for moulding and when we cut it and it doesn't fit you think you measured incorrectly when it could have been your tool off by one degree.

The reason woodworkers want this book is to save money and time. Understanding and applying the knowledge herein might save your fingers and maybe even your life! I am not joking...

John White was the shop manager for Fine Woodworking for about a decade and is still a contributing editor. He has a wealth of practical knowledge and presents it clearly. I particularly like Mr. White's style in some of his videos. He "cuts to the chase" by demonstrating you how things work, THEN explains them concisely. He also invented (or re-engineered) a very clever workbench and numerous practical shop-jigs. Now, not all of those ( or even very many ) are in this volume. I only mention that to illustrate the breadth and scope of the author's knowledge. John White is certainly qualified to write about this subject.

The MOST IMPORTANT REASON that every newcomer should buy (or at least read) this book is to prevent hassles, mistakes, accidents, and bad buying-decisions.

For instance, if you do not understand how to adjust a tablesaw or bandsaw, how can you possibly choose a machine with the right features?

If you don't know how to tell if a blade is square to the miter-slot (or fence,) and how to adjust it, you WILL experience kickback. (...not "IF" but "WHEN.") Unlike that funny TV commercial, kickback is deadly serious.

There are over THIRTY THOUSAND wood-shop accidents every year, many of which are related to these main machines discussed in this book. I have seen a piece of plywood shoot from a table-saw and go careening across the shop at sixty-miles an hour like a demonic frisbee, then stick itself into a wall. That particular incident was caused by a novice who ignored basic rules of machine set-up and use. No one was killed or blinded that day, but he was lucky. Would you rather depend on luck or knowledge? If that guy would have followed the advice in this book, it would have never happened.

Those "bargain" tools we see in home-centers are often more trouble than they are worth. If you know what features to look for, then you can avoid buying junk. You can also spot a real bargain when you see one.

John's set-up tricks can save money on wood too. When you gaff and destroy some lumber because a machine wasn't set-up well or you used it improperly, you throw money down the drain. The small investment in this reference will definitely pay a beginner backs MANY TIMES over!

BTW... If your primary interest is table-saws, you really should online-search "Ed Bennett" and the "tsaligner." (Table-Saw Align-er). Ed developed a tool and methods (plural) for really dialing in any decent table-saw. He has taken the subject of table-saw adjustment to a degree of accuracy that approaches and meets machine-shop standards. He has a good web-site with so much information I can't possibly delineate much of it here. Once you understand Mr. Bennett's approach, the same methods can be applied to numerous machines.

I agree with another reviewer that Taunton's use of the word "complete" in the tittle is wrong. This is nowhere near complete. But the information is crucial to choosing the right equipment, using it well, and keeping it in top shape for best results.

This book covers crucial adjustments for the main machines. Not only that, but the concepts are universal. Simple tools, jigs and geometry will measure and verify every shop-tool operation for safety and accuracy. How much is THAT knowledge worth?

No finite tome can possibly cover every possible machine or set-up scenario.

This does show beginners how to choose and safely use the most common shop machines.

Heck, even and old-fart like me learns a new trick now and then, and I have learned a few from John White. I have had to train dozens of people in various work environments over the decades. If I could have had this volume thirty years ago, it would have saved a whole lot of time. I'd just say to every new guy that walked in looking for a job, "Here... read this."

John's advice will save you money, and possibly a trip to the hospital too. That alone is worth the price of admission. If you run a woodworking shop with employees, this should be mandatory reading. If you can't buy it, go to the library and check it out.'

Dect Cordless Phone

I had been using a Uniden digital 5.8 Ghz phone for a number of years. While that phone provided reasonable service, it was lacking in range. We have a large lot (over 5 acres) and the 5.8 Technology just did not have the reach we needed especially outside. Things got worse when we added a wireless network for our computers. When the batteries started to fail in the handsets, we knew it was time to upgrade.

After looking at a lot of phone specs, it was clear that the new DECT technology might solve some of the problems we had. The offerings are not very extensive in this area yet so the choices really came down to personal preferences. There were very few if any owner reviews to go on (that is why I am writing this one) for any of the products available. What was available about other brands was not generally positive.

So we settled on going with a known brand name. AT&T is a brand name product despite being made outside the US by a third party manufacturer.

So far we are pleased with the phone. It has a lot more range than our old phone (though still not really enough). We have a lot of electrical items, and any signal must go through the 8" think oak log walls of the house to work outside. Even with all of that, the phone works out to about 200 feet from the base unit outside. The old phone would barely reach the front porch, and the driveway was out of range. The driveway is only 75 feet from the base unit. This new phone would probable go further than the 200 to 300 feet we have tested it to, if I was willing to put the base on the upper floor of the house. All of the handsets work anywhere inside the house, no problem. The base in located near the cent of the middle floor of the house, so basically it is in the Middle of the building and the interior walls are all of standard drywall construction.

The sound quality is pretty good, and there is absolutely no background noise or interference of any kind. The handset buttons are larger than most and this helps my large fingers hit the buttons better. Also the numbers are protected UNDER the plastic so they will not wear off. The buttons are lighted with an effective lighting system. The volume is adjustable and is adequate, but for my taste it could be made a little louder. Still the volume is ok. Ring and caller volume can be adjusted separately, and the ring volume is plenty loud, especially with four handsets ringing at once.

For my tastes the handsets are a little too slim and light in weight, but this is just my personal taste, my wife likes them the way they are and I would think others would too.

We also bought two add on hand sets for a total of six. I tested the phone inside our barn, and it works fine so we plan to add one out there. The barn is 75 feet from the house, but this adds another set of walls to penetrate when using the phone. I think for most people the range will be fine, and if the older technologies worked for you or were marginal, the newer DECT 6.0 will be just fine.

The battery life seems to be very good. While we do put these back in the cradle at night, we have not had them go dead yet. Even with a very active day of calls the handset does not seem to require topping off to keep going. I would rate the stand by and talk time to be very good. I would prefer if the charge LED went off when the handset is charged, but no companies have got this idea yet.

All in all I would rate this phone highly. I would have preferred the ability to dial from a hardwired phone located on the base, and maybe more message storage space. AT&T DECT 6.0 Digital Three Handset Answering System (SL82318)

First and foremost, this line of AT&T DECT 6.0 cordless phones works extremely well, no background noise even with a home wireless system, great range, and very good sound quality both with the handset to your ear and on speaker phone. It does all that one should expect from a cordless phone system. Entering names and numbers into your directory is very intuitive, as is using the caller ID and changing the ringer tone and volume. You hardly need the manual. We use the "phone company" voice mail, so I haven't evaluated the "usability" of the answering machine, but it "talks you through" the setup steps, setting the clock, etc., and seems very user friendly to operate. Another nice feature is that directory and CID entries are maintained in the base station, so if, for example, you enter a name/number on handset #1, it is immediately available on all other handsets on your system.

The handset is quite lightweight and compact compared to our previous cordless phone, which took a little getting used to, but my wife and I adapted to it after one or two days. The handsets come with belt clips, which I use, not to clip them on my belt but because they raise the back of the handsets slightly if you lay them down, which I find improves the the speaker phone sound (the speaker is on the back of the handsets).

One minor drawback, compared to my prior cordless phone, which permitted each handset to be identified by location, e.g., "kitchen," "bedroom," etc., is that each AT&T handset has a number (and added handsets are given consecutive numbers as they are registered to the base up to the maximum of 12), so you have to remember the location numbers to call another handset on the intercom or to transfer incoming calls. Not a big deal, but being able to name each handset is a nice feature.

Be aware that the SL82(X)18 models are all the same, with the (X) indicating the number of handsets with that bundle. For example, SL82318 comes with three handsets, SL82418 with four, etc. I mention this because the various bundles appear to be different products, but they are all essentially the same, so keep this in mind when shopping for the best deal. The only exception seems to be that models SL82518 and SL82558 both have five handsets, but I haven't been able to find what the difference between them is, even on the AT&T site. Since my review applies to all bundles of this system, (if they let me) I will post this review under the several different model numbers.

All in all, I am extremely pleased with these purchases, first a four handset bundle, then three additional handsets for a total of seven. Hope this review is helpful in making up your mind about selecting a new cordless phone.'

Yoga

This is a highly practical and entertaining book that approaches yoga from a different perspective. I've been practicing Yoga for about 7 years now daily. I used to be intensely involved in weight training and I'm in much better shape and feel a hundred times better doing Yoga than I did before. There are several reasons for this. First of all, you can do Yoga every day which means you can feel great every day. In my case I vary the intensity of my practice, some days more of a power routine and other days more of a gentle approach to stay physically "open". You are truly as young as your spine is (and your joints, muscles, ligaments (etc.) as well Second, it involves whole body movements so you are not overtraining any one area. While you certainly aren't going to get the size that you will from weight training, you will get incredibly muscular everywhere. My torso has more subtle definition from daily yoga than my former weight training regimen. You also get whole body, "real life" strength. You learn to work with your body in an integrated fashion that will help you in your day to day movements. Even if you are doing very physical work you'll find you can do it more effectively because your body works cohesively. Third, you learn how to breathe more completely. This helps with stress, fatigue and also your ability to focus. Fourth, if you do a vigorous vinyasa style of yoga several times a week (one that is continuously flowing) you CAN actually get a pretty intense cardio workout (this is my only point of disagreement with the author who thinks you still need a separate cardio practice). Sure, your heart isn't going to be pushed as hard as if you are running or biking, but from my own experience I have found tremendous cardio benefits from a vigorous yoga practice. You will push yourself enough to get a serious sweat going and raise your heart rate up to a higher yet safe rate without putting yourself into a situation of "overwhelm". While I'm sure there are many who will disagree with this, there have been studies that show that serious yoga practitioners have excellent cardio scores when tested. Of course there are multiple other benefits of yoga in general but now I want to speak about this book in particular. This book is a great introduction to yoga, whether you are a man or a woman. It has sound and clear instruction,is actually more thorough than I expected it to be, and it is a book that many men might be inclined to read who otherwise wouldn't give yoga a chance. The short vignettes throughout of various world class atheletes as well as men who do yoga just to enhance their regular lives (as well as their "weekend" sports activities) helps bring yoga into the realm of real people. My only complaint, and it's a VERY small one, is that sometimes I find that the author "tries too hard" to appeal to a certain "jock" mentality in his use of language. It seemed a bit forced to me and actually geared to a "locker room" mentality. It's not that he uses profanity, its just that he sounds like he's speaking to idiots from time to time and I found it annoying. I happen to be a huge football fan in general and a Tennessee Titans fan in particular and can assure you that if you've ever heard Eddie George speak (who is on the cover of the book) he is highly intelligent and extremely well spoken. This goes as well for many other professional atheletes (such as Defensive end for the Titans Kevin Carter, who is another Yoga Junkie). So I would've liked the book more with less forced "jock talk" and language geared more towards intelligent men who are also sports junkies as well as interested in their physical well being. Still, the content of the book more than makes up for this shortcoming and that is why I still gave it the five stars it deserves. Highly recommended! Real Men Do Yoga: 21 Star Athletes Reveal Their Secrets for Strength, Flexibility and Peak Performance

I can't say how positive I am about this book. As a former semi-pro soccer player spreading into middle age a little faster than I would like, I've been trying to build an exercise program that improved my strength and flexibility but spared my creaking joints. I'd always been interested in yoga, but had always been put off by yoga books, which invariably come larded with new age gobblegook and stuffed with photographs of super-fit contortionists, none of whom seem to have a body anything like mine.Real Men Do Yoga comes good on all counts. It's written with humor, intelligence and an awareness of what concerns men approaching yoga for the first time. It demystifies yoga - the photos feature an identifiably regular guy - while explaining clearly and interestingly how it can help the ordinary jock. And it is wonderfully good at helping anyone who wants to integrate yoga into a broader exercise regime. At the risk of sounding new agey, I'd say that, given time, this book might just change my life.

Well it is about time someone wrote such an easily accessible book for us finally. When I speak about us, I am speaking about the male athlete or martial artist who has looked at this yoga stuff as some kind of revisited new age and trendy workout for either sexy models or contortionist. In all actuality, Yoga was traditionally only practiced by the Brahmin males of India. My own personal journey towards yoga includes receiving All American recognition as a college football player as well as a long time practicing martial artist. In my early 30s I began to feel the tremendous physical abuse I had subjected my body to throughout the years. My shoulders ached so painfully at night, I couldnt sleep. It was time to start taking a look at other alternative methods of staying in shape outside of bench presses, bicep curls and protein shakes, which in all actuality just maintained my inflating waistline. It was time for a much needed change, which first led me to return to the martial arts, explore Tai Chi and finally Yoga. At 240 plus lbs, you have a tendency to stand out in the middle of yoga class that usually consists of about 85% women. I loved the energy and atmosphere so much, it inspired me to participate in a yoga teachers training program and eventually open my own tai chi and yoga center in New York City. This summer, after purchasing RMDY we now dedicate Thursday evenings to a men's practice. This wonderful book is timely, speaking directly to the modern male athlete, although anyone would benefit from reading this book as it strips away the stereotypes while focusing on the real benefits of practicing yoga, which include greater flexibility, strength and balance. And the list of names and pictures of well-known professional athletes utilizing this ancient Eastern practice is mind blowing. I wish this book would have been accessible to me 20 years ago, but I guess there is time for everything. Highly recommended...'

Pencil Sharpener - school supplies, pencil sharpeners

Only buy this pencil sharpener if you want to replace it each year. The sharpener worked very well until the end of the school year and then the blades became dull and would not sharpen the pencils. Hunt Company replaced the blades under warranty. Now that the warranty has expired, they refuse to replace the blades and won't sell the blade replacements. What a shame that electric pencil sharpeners are supposed to be disposable! X-Acto School Pro Heavy-Duty Electric Sharpener (1670)

I have gone through three School-Pro Sharpeners in four years. When it works, this sharpener is wonderful. It accomodates several different pencil sizes, has a huge shavings receptacle and runs quietly. My first sharpener lasted through two school years. The second one lasted about a year and a half. The company replaced it for free after I complained. The replacement lasted only a few months. They all had the same problem. When a pencil was inserted the the blades would spin, but they didn't sharpen. I think there was a problem with the automatic pencil stop feature. If the company would address this design flaw, I would consider buying another School-Pro.

I bought this sharpener because we have a large collection of very thick color pencils which require the largest hole on this sharpener to sharpen. This sharpener works fine. However, I was rather surprised by its large size. It is twice as tall as most of the electric sharpeners one sees in offices and homes, and it is wider and heavier.

While it worked, this was a great sharpener. The problem is that it only worked for three months. RIP OFF! Don't advertise that it's for school use unless it will last at least one school year. I have a much lower quality model that is going on its third year in my classroom, and it advertises for office use. The jokes on me!

I loved my Boston School Pro. The kids in my class were forever griding away on my old fashioned crank sharpener, and other teachers were contantly complaining about their loud electrict sharpeners that would quickly burn out on standardized testing weeks. With the Boston School Pro, teachers came to my room (or sent kids to my room) to sharpen pencils for the Stanford 9 test. There is a audible difference when students pencils have achieved ultimate sharpness. No more wasting time at the sharpner!

Every teacher at our school got one of these at the beginning of the year. NONE of them made it through March. The internal gears are made of cheap plastic that quickly wear out. While the cutters no longer turn, the units do squeal quite nicely! One star becuase it's the minimum available!

I'm a middle school teacher and bought two of these on the advice of a colleague. Both broke down before the end of the year. So did the two my colleague bought. It turned out she hadn't used one before but was taken by the imposing hero shot of the sharpener.

The company was completely unresponsive to the several phone messages I left.

A hand sharpener works better in the long run. Don't waste your money.

I have been teaching math for a few years and have had more trouble with sharpeners than students. I was going through several sharpeners a year. I was comfortable spending 20is dollars at Wal-Mart(where America shops for value). I was getting about 6 months out of each sharpener. This Boston School Pro is much better. While more expensive, it has lasted 2 and a half years. I have had trouble getting new blades and feel that I will never, I end up saving money in the long run. I was spending $60 plus every two and a half years and now spend $30 every two and a half. If Texas will get it's act together and give teachers the raise they were talking about I might be able to cover my pencil sharpener budget. - Pencil Sharpeners - Electric Pencil Sharpener - School Supplies - Electric Sharpener'

Bad Design - lithium, driver

As a long time Milwaukee fan, it was worrying a few years ago when ownership of Milwaukee changed. With that change, there was a concern that the longstanding quality of their tools would diminish. With this 2410-20 drill, there seems to be little to worry about!

The straight and true: the tool is SOLID, fit/finish is excellent, there is no flex in the handle (other than the comfortable, soft coating). The battery has zero slop in the handle, works for longer than expected and charges quickly. Given the compact size, torque is also better than I hoped for with high speed being a great choice for driving screws (took the tool to work for moving audio equipment in a bunch of sound racks).

The wobble: there is only one part that I've found to deserve criticism - the chuck. It seems great and very similar to the excellent chucks on the V18 drills (minus the carbide grip inserts). While there is very little run-out in mine, the chuck auto-loosens. Driving screws in results in the momentum (on high speed) loosening the grip a little bit each time a screw hits bottom (or the brake of the drill is used when letting go of the trigger). Really cranking the chuck tight helps in delaying the loosening but does not seem to eliminate the problem with the screwdriver bit dropping out after 15 to 20 screws. Although this is a huge problem, the tool is good enough otherwise that it is still a keeper.

After experiencing the positive qualities of this Milwaukee tool, I'm very curious to try out more of the M12 line (especially the impact driver for use with screws). Luckily, the new Milwaukee seems to have done a lot to increase the engineering and design speed of tools and seems to have not lost the high quality that makes older Milwaukee tools legendary.

Edited 9-6-2009 to add: Turns out mine is not the only sample that self-loosens the chuck. This is something to be very aware/wary of and it probably would help if each of us with faulty chuck operation went to [...] and communicated to them through their system. It does not take much imagination to see a decent size, sharp spade bit drop from the chuck and poke a hole in a leg of someone working while wearing shorts.

Edited 7-26-2010 to add: Between my experience with 3 of these drills and reading the comments to this review, it seems clear that Milwaukee has a product where they have failed in both design and testing. Given the time they have had to fix the problem but have not, I suggest passing over the M12 tools until Milwaukee demonstrates production of tools that work 100% properly.

New Rating - One Star - what good is a drill that can't hold a bit?? Milwaukee 2410-22 M12 12-Volt 3/8-Inch Drill/Driver

just purchased the 2410 Milwaukee drill as a kit with two batteries 2 months or so ago from Amazon . first impression good . recent experience quite disappointing.

i have used the drill moderately but often during this time. the major problem it he batteries. first charge good. followup battery performance renders the drill only good for small short duration jobs. charges quickly,so far, but no staying power. now i learn that to overcome this problem Milwaukee has brought out a "heavy duty" battery to be bought separately.

i noticed the problem a few days after the amazon full replacement policy.

i had read several reviews before purchasing- most were good. after my problem i read reviews just on the battery and discovered that many people have had the same experience.

Be careful with this one. It is not an inexpensive mistake.

I purchased the 1/4" hex chuck driver a while back and can't say enough good things about it. When I saw this slightly beefier cordless drill from Milwaukee in the same product family I couldn't wait to get it. It's a great size for light duty work. I like the 3/8" chuck because finding a drill bit with a 1/4" hex shank for the other non spade bit drivers that produces a hole larger than 1/4" is not as easy. Having a higher speed range for drilling and having the clutch are also pluses above the basic driver. I have a Bosch 1/2" 18v hammer drill for heavy duty jobs but it's WAY too much drill for light jobs around the house. This Milwaukee drill/driver is a great intermediary range tool. The trigger pull is smooth and consistent and makes controlling the speed of the drill easy, the clutch has enough range to handle plenty of diverse needs and the size is very convenient to have in a holster if you're working on a ladder or wearing it on a tool belt all day. The life of the lithium ion batteries is great and the recharge is pretty quick at 30 or so minutes. The battery technology has clearly come a ways from my old DeWalt 18v NiCd setup. (which was stolen and is the reason I branched out to different systems such as the Bosch and the Milwaukee) The only down side I can find on this drill (and the 1/4" hex driver as well) is that when I'm using the drill in reverse, my index finger on my right hand tends to hit the "forward" button. It's not a large problem, just something I have to consciously think about when using it in reverse. That's a large hands issue though, not really a fault of the drill.

And I thought my chuck problems were isolated! Reading other reviews here shows me it's common!

I've been using cordless Milwaukee 18 volt tools for about 8 years on a daily basis, and am lucky enough to have a service center fairly close by - I've burnt out the switch on a 18v sawzall, brushes in the 1/2" 18v drillmotor ( and yesterday the swtich!) and the parts are readly available - they've given REALLY good service (though the sawzall is probably on it's last legs - it makes a LOT more noise than it used too!).

But I'm re-thinking - it's about time to replace these guys, and my experience with this little drill motor makes me wary about buying all Milwaukee. How hard is it to spec a chuck that holds it's grip? Who the hell wants to climb off a ladder to fetch the bit that you thought was secure in the chuck, only for it to dropout after one use????????? Not only do I not have time for that, I'm getting creaky and it really ticks me off to get up & down for something so stupid - I've NEVER had a chuck with this poor performance in all my 58 years!

And I won't start on the styling business - it does look cool but the little non-functional rubber piping on the side became halfway detached by day 2 and now just flaps around - I should cut it off!

Hope folks from Milwaukee read this & actually pay attention to business - how many customers can you afford to have defect to another brand? - Drill - Driver - Compact - Lithium'

Made In Italy 2 Button Suit - suits, high quality suit

After some deliberation and inspection of the reviews of the version with the pleated pants, I decided to give this suit a shot figuring it would be about the same. The item arrived on time and was packaged hung on a thick (nice) plastic hanger inside of a dry-cleaner-like plastic bag. All the tags were in place and the suit arrive almost without a wrinkle to be found.

The fabric and lining of the suit are light weight and of very good quality for the price. A suit of similar build and quality would run about $200.00-$250.00 at a department store. I ordered based on my jacket size of 42R, and the jacket itself fit me very well, at least as good as other 42R off-the-rack jackets I'd tried on at a local department store.

As expected with the 6-inch drop, the pants came in size 36 with unfinished hems to let a tailor adjust the length. I had anticipated them fitting perfectly in the waist since my jeans size is a 36, but they were a bit tight and had to be loosened to around 37.5 inches (As stated in the description, there is enough fabric to easily let out/in about 2 inches.) Once properly adjusted to the waist and length, the pants fit very nicely.

Overall, I consider this suit to be a very good value and worth the money, and would definitely buy another suit from this seller. It's not top of line, thousand-dollar suit, but is should serve most purposes. Having it tailored/adjusted will cost some more, but that is to be expected of any off-the-rack suit that you will find. Presidential Suit Signature Collection Mens Suit Italian Super 140s Two Button Jacket Flat Front Pants Business Suit Dark Navy (44 Regular)

WARNING to future buyers!!!!!. Everything could be okay if the seller posted information on the composition of the fabric: 65% polyester and 35 rayon. Misleading description and the initial price before the reduction suggesting 140s wool, and this is only the name of its own suit. Unfortunately, I've been caught, and worse, from Europe and bought two suits shipping cost me $ 99 and even tax. I was hoping that I get a good quality suits, and received sewn from no natural materials. Next time I will be more rigorous and carefully inquired about the goods a seller.

I think this is a really nice suit for the price. I am 6 feet tall and 212 lbs. I wear a 44 regular in some jackets and a 46 regular in others, with a 36 waist in most pants. I ordered the 44 regular in this suit because with a 6 inch drop the pants would be a 38 waist and I didn't want the pants to be way too big. I found out the 38 waist pants with this suit fit like a 36. The 44 jacket is a touch snug but the arm length is just right.

It has the right drop, the cut was shapely but not to trim, the jacket has a nice hang and fits well across the shoulders, and the linen is good quality. The attention to detail is high with a high quality of construction, the stitching is excellent, and the hidden finishes are well done!!

I too was a little leery about buying a suit on line. But considering the price I figured not much to risk. The suit arrived and looked/felt great. Jacket fit perfectly. I would usually order a 44L but I like the cuff of my shirt to come out more at the sleeve. I have athletic build, 6'1" 215lbs and this suit fit perfectly. It is a true slim fit. No big baggy leg. The waist says 38 but it's a small 38. I am a 36-37 waist and these pants fit perfectly. All I needed was to hem the leg. I also ordered the 3 button Signature collection but the pants were big and baggy. Maybe it was the pleats? If you like slim fits stick with the flat front pants. I returned the 3 button and ordered another 2 button Presidential in Black. The customer service was excellent. As both were the same price I didn't need to do anything. They did an exchange for me and I just got the Black and it's also perfect. Great CS. Highly recommend DARYA.

Excellent suit for the price.
