Square Trade Warranty - warranty, squaretrade

I started signing up with Square Trade because of their reasonable prices. I was a bit nervous, since I've only used Best Buy's warranty service and never had tried a mail-in service before, but the difference in price was significant enough to take a chance with it.

I just filed a claim with Square Trade and received astoundingly good service. None of the nonsense that I'm used to from Geek Squad- e.g., waiting for hours at the Best Buy service counter for someone to pay attention to me, then being told the issue isn't covered, or it'll cost extra, it'll take 2-6 weeks to send the unit out for service, etc.

None of that crap when I dealt with Square Trade. To the contrary, I received INSTANT help, yes it's fully covered, INSTANT e-mail labels for the return, great response.

I'll never use Geek Squad again. I'm a Square Trade fan now. Seriously- these guys are the best. SquareTrade 3-Year Computer Warranty Plus Accident Protection (Computer $400-500)

I have used Square Trade Warranties for at least 5 items so far. Had to cash in on 2 of them since one was ipod and it cratered, and other was laptop and it died too. Square Trade first of all has the best priced warranties ( I dare you to compare to Best Buy and other places where you pay well over 100/200 for laptops) and these warranties are straight forward and without gimmicks. In both cases, my items were not repairable and they determined it pretty quickly and gave me the money for replacement and I am happy about that. No hassles, no arguments about value or how damage occurred, etc. Just straight across the board, you give them your side, they review the item and voila! presto, you are give the amount you insured. Now that is the right way to do business, since lets face it, when you are not able to use your ipod or laptop, you want to get back into gear as soon as possible and not have to wait for weeks, with Square Trade you can be up and running pretty quickly. Unfortunately they are no longer selling them in certain states, and my state is one of them, otherwise, I would keep on buying them again and again. If you are fortunate to live in states where they do sell, then definitely avail yourself of their warranties, you will be glad you did.

This is the second SquareTrade warranty I have had. The first one was on a laptop I purchased several months ago. Only days after I received the laptop from Amazon, I spilled a drink all over the keyboard. One call to SquareTrade and I had a UPS shipping label to send the broken computer to them. Less than two weeks later, the money for the computer (minus the $50 deductible) was deposited into my account. They are fast and their customer service agents are polite and knowledgeable. This is the only company I'll ever use for warranties.

My laptop died Thursday, I filed a claim Friday, printed my shipping label, sent it out Monday, had my claim approved Thursday and money in my paypal account Friday (you can also have them mail you a check).

Compare this to waiting weeks or even months to get a warranty repair from Best Buy or the manufacturer, and then consider that squaretrade is usually way cheaper. What else is there to say? If they can't fix it, they pay you cash so you can buy a new system of your choosing, not some "comparable" refurbished unit they have lying around. When I had a question about packing up and shipping my laptop, their phone service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I'm never buying an extended warranty from anyone but squaretrade again.

I had bought this warranty when I purchased my new laptop. My laptop had arrived and worked fine, but after about a week it wouldn't turn on. I had eventually turned it back on but now my laptop's touch mouse didn't work. Since it was a hardware issue I tried to file a claim and all they had to tell me is that they closed my case and I am not covered for my laptop coming to me damaged when it had not. But they chose to refuse to listen to my claim, and now I have to use an external mouse and can no longer use my touch mouse on my laptop. I would recommended people to avoid this company since they choose not to help their customers when I was clearly covered because my laptop did not arrive with damage. I would NOT buy from this company.

I had my netbook for a little over a year when it sustained water damage. Fortunately I had a Square Trade warranty with accidental damage protection. I filed a claim and they sent me a shipping label. Within a couple of days of receiving my netbook they had paid out the claim through Paypal (my purchase price, minus $50, because it was an accidental damage claim). Great communication from the beginning to the end of the process. If you're thinking about buying a Square Trade warranty, I would highly recommend that you go ahead and buy it. Otherwise, if something happens to your item, you'll just be out the money you spent. - Warranty - Computer - Squaretrade - Laptop'
