Corded Tools - multimaster, oscillating saw

I probably would have given this 4 starts -1 for the ridiculous price but the 2 stars given by the other opinion made me boost mine. This tool DOES include the quick change - there is a different lesser model that does not but this model does. This made quick work of cutting some drywall that would have been a royal PIA to cut with other means given that it was already hung and I needed to cut the drywall all the way into the back corner which would be impossible with almost any other tool - so I'd have had to get it out with a chisel - in my bizarre situation there was also metal corner bead in the inside corner again no problem for this tool and would have been nearly impossible any other way.

I also had a job where I needed to cut some base molding that was already up and installed - again piece of cake for this guy very difficult with other tools.

Cons - (other than price) it was a bit noisier than I thought it would be - but not bad. Fein MultiMaster 250 Start Power Sanding and Scraping/Cutting Tool

After seeing a Fein presentation a few months ago and loving all but the price we did not buy it. That is until we had the perfect job for it. Thoroughly researched all packages and finally decided to purchase the Start. Used it for a little bit and decided that it was worth returning for the "TOP" package. The "START" does not include the Quick-In feature, plus the "TOP" comes with two more attachments that purchased separately cost $100 or the difference in the two packages. Upgrade, get the nifty Quick-In feature, and two essential attachments. In summary, great tool but I do not recommend the "START" package, hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.

this is a good tool but i sent it back not knowing at the time that this tool does not have the quick release. so i sent it back and order the other one with the quick release.. it is great when you need to cut something that is in close quarters and the sawsall can't get in. the only draw back i see are the blades are costly and don't last long before they start smoking!!

I became interested in this tool after seeing the popular TV infomercial. Because of the price, I started looking online for similar tools offered by other manufacturers to ensure I was making the wisest choice for my needs.

I eventually stumbled across a "Harbor Freight Tools" sale ad that showed a VERY similar tool with a few accessories for $59.99 on sale for $39.99.

So far, I am quite satisfied with my $39.99 "Harbor Freight Tools" alternative. I'm reasonably certain that the Fein MultiMaster tool is nice, but for the price, I think I made the right choice.

This saw was advertised, Multimaster with case, What was shipped was the tool in a cardboard box. When I phoned to question my shipment,I was told that I could buy a case, myself, online. This is not the way the tool was written up in the details on your site. Still frustrated, thanks

I'm not excited about having to pay [...] bucks for any tool, but if you have a particular carpentry problem that the tool will solve easily, then you have to consider it. I had a number of crown moulding cuts that I had to do where the product was already installed. I didn't want to cough up the full price for the quick-change model, so I popped for the 'Start'.

It worked perfectly and I will also use this to remove tile and thinset.

So, a guy could make do with a chisel and put up with the gouges created by an errant sawzall or poorly controlled jig saw, held upside down, or, you could buy one of these things. I would prefer that the blades lasted longer, and that the replacement cost was less, but overall I'm ok with it.

This model does not have the blade quick change system introduced in the Select and Top models.

It is very expensive and after you buy it you will spend a lot on blades. Bosch, Dewalt, where are you? Why are you not competing with your own models.

I do not normally write reviews but in this case I will.

This tool is of the best quality,I see now where dremel has one out.

I have went through dremel tools in a week. Good for models, hobby stuff.

I purchased this Fein tool when they first came out at the recommendation of the local woodworkers supply guy. I have been restoring antique furniture for over 30 yrs. As the store guy said, You will never put this tool back in the case. This is true since every day I find another job it can do. When they first came out the blades were pricey and I bought one for an application and immediatley burned it out cutting hard maple. I called the woodworker supply to complain that the $50 blade lasted for 2 inches in the cut before the teeth fell off. They gave me the direct # to Fein where I got a real person first,NO PRESS 1, explained the problem and was not only sent a replacment blade for the one I burned but the correct blade for the job (2 $50 blades) FREE. They even paid the shipping. Now that's Customer Service! This tool is a Bear. It's been on the job daily for YEARS, trouble free. Viva Fein

Don't settle for a cheaper clone! John Gin

I am looking forward to finally starting to use my Fein. I have been trying to get my order straightened out...finally gave up on that. Unlike a previous customer review, the item I received from my seller (Deerso) did not have the handy Quick Change model even though the item listing for ASIN #B000U8Q812 is "FMM 250Q Basic". ("Q" is the Quick change model.) The tool does have variable speed which is not made clear in the product description. The item was earlier shown with a nice case, mine did not come with that (photo changed now). Accessories are very expensive and very useful with this tool so make sure you get the proper accessories. - Flush Cut - Oscillating Saw - Multimaster - Multi-max'
