Optical Engineering - electromagnetic, optical engineering

Good optics & science, lots of math, poor writing.

This is a very detailed & comprehensive introduction to lots of different methods of testing various optical surfaces and lenses. However, the writing itself should have been clearer, and there are some typos of fact (references to the wrong diagram, etc). Also, in numerous cases, one has to try to figure out for one's self what many of the variables in the many equations are supposed to stand for, which is annoying. The books is also rather expensive. However, I am glad I bought it, as I have already learned a lot of new things about optics that I didn't know before.
