Carrying Cases - laptop bags, carrying cases

I have a Asus 1005HAB and this fits like a glove. I went through several sleeves and cases to find this one. What makes this so great is that the faux leather gives you a non slip grip. It will accomodate the 6 cell battery. I really don't think that you can get any thing else other than the netbook in the case. I bought this when it was on sale which makes it even better. This case fits the Asus Eee Pad Transformer well. It is a tight fit length-wise with about 1/2 inch of room width-wise. Overall, it is a good looking case that would provide good protection from scratches and dings, but probably not much from dropping it on the ground. Good case, great price, you won't be disappointed.

This product is a sleeve for a tablet (or a netbook), not a folding frame. By itself, I don't consider it to give sufficient protection to the tablet screen, so I also have a cover on my iPad2. However, I feel very confident with the combination of the cover and this sleeve. It also has enough slack inside to allow me to carry a stylus, a sync cable and a microfiber towel, all inside together with the iPad2 and its cover. I rated it 4 starts because I would like to have a small pocket on the outside where I could include the iPad accessories (cable, stylus and towel), rather than carry them inside with the iPad. If the manufacturer releases an up-dated design, I would buy it on the spot.

Ordered this product when it was on sale. A few days later received this e-mail

"We're writing to inform you that your order XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX from The OEM Shop has been canceled. Your credit card was not charged for this order. If you're still interested in this item, please search for it again on Amazon.com." Yes, product is now listed at a higher price. I guess if the company wants to raise the price after the order has been placed, they just cancel. Don't waste your time.....why bother!!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Sleek, snug, functional. I have the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 and the little transmitter fits under it, too, meaning I don't have to unplug that every time I put the sleeve on.

I needed a sleeve that would allow me to cover my ipad2 and smartcover while carrying them to and from work in a backpack.

For the price, this works well. There is about 1" of space at top/bottom but fits well across. Good padding.

Underwater

We recently purchased this camera for our Disney Cruise. Our seven year old son was scheduled to snorkle with stingrays on Castaway Cay and we wanted to capture that experience. We were able to take photos and video of him with the stingrays, some of it underwater. The camera took clear pictures and video. The only drawback was it is hard to see the screen (so you know what you are photographing) and there is no viewfinder but that problem was easily outweighed by the price. The pic quality is much better than I thought. I bought the blue one, it is so cute. I carry it all day. it is easy to use and it has different color formats.

The disadvantage is that it does not have cap for lense (not a zoom lense), so it is easy for dust rest on the lense.

I received this camera the other day. I have taken several indoor photos with flash.. not bad (be sure to use the redeye preflash). I have taken a number of deliberately varied outdoor photos, shade, sun, telephoto, flash fill. The results were pretty darn good and very sharp in all cases within it's specifications. It doesn't focus on "real close stuff". I have not tested it for "ruggedness". I have not used it under water.

No. It is not a Canon 7D or equivalent Nikon. It is a $69 rugged waterproof small camera. It seems to be exactly what it says it is and takes good photos for the price. And I'm going to use it in places I won't take my Canon dSLR or my Canon G7.

I bought this camera for my 15 year old son who is taking a 2 week hiking trip. He hasn't actually taken the trip yet, but he's been playing around with the camera (we both have, actually) at home to get comfortable with its features and abilities. Considering the price, I am actually quite impressed. Aside from the price, there are two reasons I choose this camera. First, it is waterproof (to 10 feet)and could therefore withstand getting dropped in a puddle or rained on. The waterproof feature just takes that type of worry out of the equation. My son is also a competitive swimmer, so I fully expect he will at some point also enjoy it in the pool with his friends. The second reason for choosing this camera was the "easy share" of the pictures. You set up emails or a facebook account in advance, then as you take the pictures you choose where you will share them (email, facebook). To actually share them, you will need to plug into a computer, but then it will automatically and quickly send those pictures to wherever you have designated. (Hint: you need to designate an email to send from and a yahoo or gmail account are the easiest to use to set up... techies may know more, but this worked best for me). The biggest suprise was the pictures themselves. The quality is actually not bad. Professional photographers and photo enthusiasts of course would not be satisfied, but for a 15 year old boy or me, this works pretty good. Settings for lighting, etc. are available and are pretty simple to use. Video is good in good lighting. Lighting is probably the key to all, but we haven't had any problems so far with any light (assuming use of the flash in poor lighting). Things that I would like to see would be the ability to associate with more than one facebook account at a time and a view finder so that you could see what you were doing in bright sunlight, but these are minor disadvantages. Given the price, this is really a very nice camera and will serve our purposes very well.

I purchased this camera 10 days ago for a trip to the Caribbean. I wanted to take pics in the ocean and pool, and not worry about getting sand/water in regular digital camera. The camera worked fine for 6 days, but then completely stopped working! It says it is waterproof for up to 3 meters..but I didn't even have it underwater 3 feet! The buttons stopped functioning (flash/zoom/camera mode etc), and the only thing it does now is power on/off. As another reviewer mentioned, my lens got foggy underwater too, but I made sure the battery compartment door was sealed tight! It is definitely faulty mechanics behind this one.

Of course I threw out the packaging and misplaced the receipt before I left for the trip so I don't even think I can return it to the store I purchased it from. I called Kodak today, and now I have to send it in for "possible repairs". Honestly, spend some extra money and buy a different brand that will at least last longer than this piece of junk! While it served it's purpose for my trip, I was probably better off buying a $10 disposable underwater camera instead

I was truly blown away by the picture quality! I just printed some of the pictures and they look way better than I anticipated from a waterproof camera - insanely inexpensive at that. I kept the camera submerged for long periods of time and I never noticed any sort of leakage. My vacation would not have been complete without it...serious!

Only drawback is the speed at which you can take multiple pictures in repetition. The screen takes a second to process the photo so you have to wait a few seconds to take another picture.'

Extension Cords - low-profile-plu, flat plug

Come one people, its a plug, that lays flat. Its the Max Flat Plug. How could you not rate it 5 stars? I needed it to plug my vibrating bed in and i need to push the bed up the wall to make the wall vibrate to piss off the neighbors who cook smelly food, BUT, the outlet is right where the headboard needs to be. It is a must, if you have a 110 outlet behind a desk that is positioned very close to the wall. Also the 8 inch extension is handy so the connection is below the lower border of most desks and allows easy connection.

The reason I purchased this cord was for my LCD TV to hang on the wall. The cord that came with the unit stuck too far out and rather than getting a recessed outlet and having it installed, I figured a 90 degree plug would be a good cheap solution... and it was. Sort of. The cable is good quality, and the male end of the plug is pretty compact. However, the female end is quite bulky, so bulky that unless tucked on top of the end of the tv, it would push the tv out and away from the wall... that wouldn't work.

So if you're looking for a cable for a mounted Flat Screen TV... you might want to try a different one that's slimmer all around.

I purchased this because the permanently connected heavy-duty supply plug on my Furman power-conditioner's cable made it necessary to keep my TV stand out from the wall about 2 inches. Secondarily the Furman cable draped from my stand to my racked system = ugly. Panamax merged with Furman so I called Petaluma and they confirmed it was the same gauge cable as my Furman. When I unpacked the cable it was exactly as described by Panamax/Furman and I was able to move my stand back just a little more than 1.25 inches, plus it lengthened my supply cable and allowed it to lay flat on the floor where it spans to my rack. You'd think "a little more than 1.25 inches" wouldn't make much difference but my whole system looks cleaner with the addition of this cable. My one faint complaint is they should offer 3-and-4 foot versions as well. Since it served MY purpose perfectly I gave it 5 out of 5 stars. A true bargain! - Flat Plug - Low-profile-plu'

Beauty Products - philosophy, birthday

I generally love Philosophy products and buy them for myself frequently. When I saw this package, I thought - how perfect for my sister-in-law's birthday gift. I did not read or register the product sizes from the description, so that's my fault. On the other hand, from the pictures and for the price, I expected a bigger container with larger product sizes in it. If I wasn't strapped for a gift, I'd return this - $35.00 for these sample sizes is just too expensive. I'm going to have to buy a second gift to go along with this one, because this gift by itself looks like I didn't spend more than $15.00 on it. Philosophy The Birthday Girl Gift Set (5 Piece)

Love this kit! Really cute idea for a birthday gift even if you give one to yourself. Which I did! I can't live without the "Kiss Me Red" lip balm. It's staying power is the best I've ever found. The other products in the kit are also favorites and now I have them in perfect travel sizes.

Ipod Cable - ipod cable

I purchased 3 of these EXTRA LONG 6 foot cord, hoping to be able to stop using the short cord that comes with iphone. One of the three will not plug in to port for charging.

yes, its 6 ft long, but it takes 5 times longer to charge. Also, they dont smoothly enter and exit the port. I take extra care entering and exiting..be sure not to damage the port.

I have bought a couple of these cords and they are excellent! Why Apple sends us such short cords is beyond me. I use this 6 ft cord to plug into a surge under my desk to keep my iPad charged while using it at work.

I really did not expect this cable to be much... I mean its just a cable. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that the quality of what I received is just as good as the cable you get with your Apple product. I love that this is sooooo long, and I can lay on my couch comfortably and play on my iPhone 4.

It would have been nice to purchase an extra sync cable for my iPhone; however this was not the one. It would not connect properly for syncing and every time you disconnected the cable from the phone, the cable separated. I ended up sending it back as defective.

As you know iphone/ipod cables are very short...This item allowed me to charge my apple products without worry of them being pulled off a table because of a short cord. Charges just as fast as a short cables...

After just three days of gentle usage it stopped working altogether. The rubber near the ends had also split. Another classic example of "You get what you pay for."

----DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME----

For 1/10 the price of the Apple product, you get what appears to me, to be exactly the same item as sold by Apple. And I'm picky when it comes to these things. The only difference is that the length of this cord is double!

This cord is made with the same connectors and quality as Apple's. It even appears to be manufactured the same way in all respects.

I researched a lot of cords, and this was the only one that had the above attributes.

We have never bought non-apple cords before, so I can say with certainty that there are at least a couple different styles out there. The way I tell them apart is by the reinforcement coming out of the connectors. One is flat & smooth. The other is ridged. The style we received is the flat type. Kindle Accessory - kandle, reading light

Just received the Kandle and it is a neat, compact design. I already own a Mighty Bright and an M-Edge light, for comparison below.

Pros:

- Very lightweight (partly because of the button batteries).

- Compact, stores nicely.

- Great for a bare Kindle - fits perfectly on the top edge and provides adequate illumination for the screen.

Cons:

- Substantial falloff of light on the bottom half of the Kindle. Sufficient for reading, but a noticeable difference in intensity and could be a strain on old or tired eyes; really noticeable when clipped to a cover.

- Won't work (very well) on a Kindle with a cover that uses straps. I have several M-Edge covers currently, and all are too thick to attach the clip with any stability over cover and Kindle together. Clipping on the folded back puts it too far away to adequately illuminate even the top half of the screen, and clipping it on the Kindle directly between the cover and Kindle stretches the straps and risks damaging the rear skin if your Kindle has one. It does work on Kindle covers with the Amazon-type covers with just the metal spine clips (and no straps), but I avoid those because of potential damage to the Kindle frame (and you should too). Have an Oberon cover coming*, so could be better suited to this design - we shall see; I expect any cover thick enough to protect the Kindle would be too thick to use this light.

- Don't have one, so this is a guess, but based on the K2 results I would think would be marginally (if that ) adequate for a DX - just too much difference in light at the bottom of the screen.

Neutral: Battery life currently unknown, but the button 2032 batteries are more expensive than AAAs and are not rechargeable

For neat, light weight, trim design and compactness, I give the Kandle a thumbs-up. For practical use and good screen illumination on covered Kindles (which I suspect is the majority), the Mighty Bright and M-Edge e-Luminator lights are superior Kindle lights, although not as cool looking!

*Addendum: The light DOES fit on the top (1/4") edge of the Oberon cover over the Kindle, so it is usable, but light falloff on the lower half of the screen is significant. Much less illumination that even the M-Edge light, which is just adequate. Great design, marginal functionality. I would've gone with the white Kandle, but I had a Black Kindle cover/skin so I chose this one. Overall, the Kandle is perfect! It feels sturdy enough to just throw it in my pack or put it in my pocket without worrying about it breaking. The 2 LED's provide enough illumation to light up the whole screen without bothering people around you yet at teh same time, lighting up the screen enough for you to be able to easily read. Now, I've read some people complaining about how the light isnt bright enough, or that the light isnt spread out well. In my opinion, those people probably are tryiing very hard to find something to complain about. I found the Kandle to be bright enough; when you're about to read at night, let your eyes adjust to the dark setting, and you'll find the Kandle to provide enough light for you to be able to read everything easily. I've purchased about four other booklights previous to this, and this is my favorite without a doubt.

I Love this Light! I love how it is so small and portable! I travel alot and this is the most practical light for the Kindle I've seen or used- its small, lightweight, portable, durable, and it gets the job done. I'd recommend this for anyone who loves to read at night.

I received this as a present, but after using for a few nights, I loved it! So I bought one for my wife. Now she takes it everywhere she goes. We both agree that the Kandle is a fantastic light that fixes alot of the headaches experienced from other book lights. Overall, the Kandle seems to be a A+ in terms of build quality and design. The clamp is not to tight but not to loose so it fits snugly on the Kindle. It also has nice pads so that it won't scratch. The light is sufficient enough for most situations. I did read a few reviews saying how its not bright enough but my wife and I found the lighting to be perfect. If it was any brighter, it would be like shining a flashlight at people around you while you're reading. I also love the fact that this does not glare, and even if it does it can be easily adjusted. This is a very well-thought product that does what it is supposed to do. I'd recommend this to ANYONE who has a Kindle.

The kandle is downright awesome! I've went through about 5 book lights looking for the perfect light for my kindle, but none of them seemed to be the perfect one. or at least until I bought the Kandle. Other book lights had bad qualities that really out-weighed the benefits, such as hotspots, glare, heavy, portable.... but the Kandle had all the perfect qualities i was looking for and I am glad to say that my exhaustive search is over for the best book light. - Book Light - Kandle - Reading Light - Kindle Reading Light'

Accessory - glove, kindle 3

...to satisfy me. But the main reason I felt prompted to review it is that there are no reviews yet and one thing needs to be shared that will likely affect your decision in purchasing this sleeve. As you can see in the picture, there is a small spot on the upper right side with "BELKIN" written on it. What you probably can't tell, however, is the fact that it's written on a separate material that's not as soft as the knitted sleeve (if you've seen a Jansport backpack, it's like the material sewed on above the pouch with "JANSPORT" written on it), and its edge is a bit scratchy. The problem is that it goes over the opening to the inside. When you slide the kindle in or out, the potential to scratch it is huge. It may not seem obvious at first, but with constant use, vertical scratch marks on the kindle is a possibility.

Luckily, I noticed this potential issue early on, and I've resolved to folding the opening outwardly (like rolling up sleeves on a shirt) before I take the kindle out, so that the scratchy part doesn't touch the kindle. I don't unfold it until the kindle is back in (for convenience) and this has been working out just fine.

Two more (very minor) things. They don't really bother me, but probably worth mentioning for someone looking for a more in-depth review. The first is that it can be kind of difficult to put the kindle back in, especially with the sleeve straightened out. But since I leave the sleeve folded outward until I put the kindle back in, it's much easier. Secondly, the sleeve arrived with a (kind of) smell, as all new products like this usually do. You have to put your nose right against it for it to bother you, so it's no big deal. I just aired it out in front of a fan for a few hours so that the smell would completely go away. But again, these two issues really were nothing.

Finally, I love its simple design (I'm a less-is-more kind of guy) and the fact that the opening is firmer/tighter, making it hard for the kindle to just slip out. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this thing. Belkin Knit Kindle Sleeve (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Black/White

I picked this cover because, to be honest, it was the cheapest one. I wanted something to cover my kindle that didn't cost a lot. I already invested in the kindle, books of course, and a cute skin. So, I just needed something to protect my kindle. For those reasons, I give it a fair 3 stars, as that is exactly what it does. I do not like how it looks. It looks like a big sock over my kindle. So, for that reason, I don't love it. But if you are looking for something inexpensive that will protect your kindle, this will work fine.

I have recently got the 3rd-gen Kindle and decided I should get a case for it. Most of the cases available are those leather-bound jackets, which add unnecessary weight and bulk to the Kindle. Luckily, this case does not. It is just a soft fabric and adds little to no weight at all. Although it looks thin in the pictures, it is actually pretty thick. Its more like sweater material. Even so, I would not want to drop the Kindle even with the case, but if I did I think the case would help soften the blow. The Kindle fits perfectly in it, tight like a glove. I don't think the device could slide out of the sleeve by itself. Its nice and snug. I use the Kindle mostly in my house, I don't travel with it much. So if you use the Kindle on a commute, it may be more convenient to get one of the jacket-style cases, as they are easier to close up real fast and move with. With this sleeve you would have to store it in your bag and then take it out when you're done. Not a huge deal, but maybe a problem for some. However if you use the Kindle mostly at home, then this sleeve is much better. That is because when reading you don't have to bother with holding the case, so it makes the Kindle lighter and more versatile. Well worth the money.

The feel of the fabric is pleasant to the touch and fits the Kindle(3rd generation) well. While the Kindle is inside, the top of the kindle alligns approximately to the upper most line of the decorative stripe, leaving about an inch of extra space in the sleeve. The perimeter of this extra inch of fabric is particularly more "tight" than the rest of the fabric and has an "elastic" quality-- making the mouth of the sleeve more narrow, preventing the kindle from falling out if it were to be hung upside down or tossled around. Sleeve is also fairly thick and not likely to be damaged easily. I trust putting it in a purse, traveling bag, or backpack, without damgage to the kindle or the sleeve itself.

One of the more affordable, simple, and good quality sleeves, imo. I did also remove the "Belkin" brand off the top of the sleeve to avoid any potential scratching while pulling the Kindle in and out of the sleeve.

I wanted something that I can use to carry around my kindle. I like how small the kindle is and I didn't want to get a cover that wraps around it. So I decided to get a holder for it just for carrying it around in my bag.

Pros:

- It's soft and won't scratch the device.

- There are a few colors to choose from, and all of them are fine. I picked the midnight blue color.

- It fits the kindle well without any part of the kindle sticking out.

- The fabric is tough enough that it feels like it will protect the kindle. It's soft or thin, which is a good thing.

Cons:

- The opening is a bit tight, which is good when the kindle is in (it won't slip out), but it does make it somewhat difficult to put the kindle back in.

- I'm pretty sure that this isn't going to fit the Kindle 2, as it is quite snug on the Kindle 3.
