Cold Therapy For Inflamed Joints

This hot and cold therapy pack by Balego & Associates really has served me well! It's easy to use either hot or cold; and I recommend the reusable cloth cover that can be purchased along with this to protect you against excessive cold or heat as the case may be.

If you want an ice cold pack it's ridiculously easy. Just keep this in the freezer and pull it out to apply it to any area of your body that may need a cold compress. Sometimes an ice pack can relieve pain associated with pulled muscles or any other reason listed above on this webpage. Alternatively, you can use this as a heat pad; just heat it up in the microwave and you're good to go with heat on that area that hurts so much! I use the heat on a bum shoulder that I have to nurse every once in a while. Sigh.

It's amazing but the ice pack does NOT freeze solid in your freezer--this is one well made therapy pack!

Overall, this hot and cold therapy pack by Balego & Associates has me totally sold. I highly recommend it. Versa-Pac Reuseable Hot and Cold Therapy Gel Pack - Large (8" x 11.5")

I wanted something that would cool down aching, inflamed joints -- in my case, elbow and heel (plantar faciitis injury) -- with less fuss and leakage than a baggie filled with ice water. These do the trick very nicely indeed.

I expected that the gel would freeze solid, but it doesn't -- to my pleased surprise, even when thoroughly chilled for hours in my freezer, it remains thick but always pliable, so that you can wrap it around the contours of your elbow, knee, or whatever.

Upon removal from my freezer, the gel stays very cold for a significant period of time (~10 minutes) even when in contact with body heat. But for a thorough session, I find myself rotating through all of the three packets I bought, and I may end up buying a few more just to add to that rotation. You might consider making a larger initial order to avoid the additional shipping & handling of a re-order.

So far no leaks. The liners seem fairly tough, although obviously I've tried not to abuse them.

I haven't had occasion to use them in "hot" mode yet.

Compared with very expensive models of similar design sold in hospital stores this is a fantastic buy for the money. It is as good as those found in many physical therapy shops. I bought mine to use after my knee replacement surgery. For best results, allow to stay in freezer several hours between each use.

I'm always on the lookout for good quality gel packs and since I use them so often, I have to be sure that they appear as though they will last a while. These were exactly what I had hoped for and I will order again.

Bought the long one to lay over my sore shoulder, and it works well. Fair price, good quality. I have only used it as a cold pack so far, and am pleased with its performance. I look forward to trying it hot.

Since I have velcro bandage wraps, I was specifically looking for a cold compress that could be applied directly to the skin. Most every item on Amazon specifies that it cannot be applied to the skin, but these packs are silent on the subject and note that it is "non-toxic." Other reviews and summaries at best, imply, that they are safe to be applied directly to the skin. Not only are the adverts misleading, but the seller then refuses to accept returns on these items. Very disappointing overall.'
