Lithium-ion - 18 volt, cordless

We go through a lot of cordless drills and had a lot of problems with the nicad batteries on the Milwaukee 18v drills and with the gearboxes of the Makitas (partly from operator misuse) and with the lithium-ion we decided to give the DeWalt drills a try. Very happy we did as they have a lot of power and 3-speed gearboxes. The hammer action is good enough for a 3/8" hole and the torque is good enough for even a 6" hole saw if it is one of the new kinds with the deep slots (Big Hawg and Blue Boar TCT).

Chuck is hard to untighten at first but it holds better than any other chuck I have used. The battery is the largest of any of our drills and also weighs more but gives a lot of power and lasts and lasts. Charge time is good and with the long life of the batteries I get through the day with only the original battery and seldom need to use the spare.

Side handle can be tightened in any position like the Bosch and Makita drills which I like but deWalt does not include a depth rod like Makita or a way to attach one later.

Buy this drill if you want the most powerful 18 volt drill around. Also has 2-year battery warranty. DEWALT DCD760KL 18-Volt 1/2-Inch Cordless Compact Lithium-Ion Drill/Driver Kit

I was looking forward to trying this drill/driver out. I wasn't disappointed. I enjoy the light weight for a 18v drill/driver. The battery last a long time. Though I didn't know that Li-Ion batteries just stopped turning the drill instead of slowing down like a Ni-Cad battery does. This was my first Li-Ion drill. However, it doesn't cause a problem, just pop the other battery in and keep going.

The only thing that caused me a problem at first was the brake for the drill motor. If I didn't securely tighten the bits, meaning tightening the drill bit, etc. at a high clutch setting, after a few times of using the drill/driver the bit would come loose. The brake stopped the drill motor so well that the chuck would open and the bit would be loose. I would expect that as the brake wears a little it might not stop the motor so quickly and it won't be a problem. However, I wouldn't want this option changed. It is nice to have it stop that quickly.

Ken

Our crews use a lot of different makes of cordless drills and when they need one from the shop they used to grab one of the Makitas but now their first choice is the DeWalt DCD970 drill. The DeWalt deliver a lot more power over a longer period of time. Part of this is their having the biggest (and heaviest) lithium ion battery and part of it is the 3 speed gearbox.

We use the Hole Pro adjustable hole cutters a lot and the low speed setting is perfect for good cutting speed and having enough power to cut 8-1/4" holes in TJI or plywood. The middle speed we have learned makes for smoother cutting with hole saws though we have switched to using Blue Boar TCT hole cutters 90% of the time. We can easily cut 6" holes in inch thick plywood with an 18 volt cordless and the very efficient Blue Boar hole cutters.

Hole Pro X-230 Kit: 1-7/8" to 9" and all fractional sizes in between. Infinitely Adjustable Cutter with Twin Tungsten Carbide Blades needs ¼ drill power of a hole saw to quickly cut Plywood Sheetrock Plaster Fiberglass OSB Plastic MDF Hardie Board

Blue Boar TSF-12 - 12 Piece Tungsten Carbide Deep Hole Saw Kit - Cut 10x Faster, 3x Larger, and 40x more holes per battery charge versus bi-metal hole saws in wood, chipboard, plaster, MDF, cement board, etc. Deep side slots for fast plug removal

The DCD760 has only two speeds but a strong gearbox and an excellent chuck. The DeWalt drills are the only ones that never seem to loosen while drilling or hammering. The Makita and Hitachi are easily the worst chucks and we only use them to drive screws. Don't be mislead by either the power ratings or recharge times from the manufacturers' marketing departments. If you want to compare two DeWalt or two Makita or two Milwaukee against each other they are OK but the are worthless for comparing two drills from different companies.

Recharge times are also a bit of a con. Faster recharge times means hotter batteries and this is not good for the batteries. With lithium ion batteries they can even catch fire. Makita states a 15 minute recharge time but in the manual it also recommends at least a 30 minute cool down period before you take the battery off the charger. We have found that the bigger the battery and the more efficient the hole cutter or drill bit or screw fastener the longer the drill lasts on the job and the fewer spare batteries we need. Before we switched to the Blue Boar hole cutters we used to take 6 batteries to a job and now we only take two and often never use the second one.

The DCD760 is all the average home DIY guy or gal will likely ever need but for pro use the DCD970 is worth the extra cost and weight. You get a pro grade gearbox and clutch and very good batteries (but with half the warranty period of the yellow ones on the high end drills from DeWalt).

I've been using Dewalt drills for the last 8 years for my job, but never bought one myself because I always had access to my work tools. Now I no longer have access to my tools all the time, and I decided to purchase a drill for my own. Compared to Ni-Cad batteries these Li-On batteries have some advantages. One is weight, its about 1/3 to 1/4 as heavy as the Ni-Cad. Their size is also an advantage, being slightly smaller, you can get the drill into positions and areas you have have had difficulty before with a Ni-Cad 18v.

As far as performance however, I see some problems. I've never had NEW Ni-Cad batteries, but these Li-On seem to have no performance degradation over their charge life; they go 100% until they are done. And when they are done, they stop. Thats it. No slowing, no signs nothing to let you know the battery is not 100% ready. This makes it hard to tell if your battery is charged enough for the job. It could go 5 mins it could last an hour. No way to know. They also seem to stop have a shorter charge life than Ni-Cads I've used. Just drilled 24 3/8 holes into treated 4x4's and it needed a new battery after 18. It might just be the new Li-Ons need some break in time, but it was still a bit disappointing.

But for the price, and for use in light duty house work, this is doing well. - Dewalt - 18 Volt - Compact - Cordless'

Angelina Jolie - action adventure, tomb raider

It would be easy to dismiss "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" as being a cross being "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and a James Bond movie except for two things. The first is that there is nothing inherently wrong with combining those two elements, even if the genesis of your character is a series of video games. The second is that despite the overwhelming plot similarities between this second Lara Croft film and the first and third Indiana Jones movies, there are actually things going to with the titular character. We are not talking profound psychological development here, but for an action film there is actually something else going on as well. The main thing, of course, is the action, which is why the James Bond comparisons are so obvious. An earthquake shakes the Greek island of Santorini and the next thing we know Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) is on the trail of Pandora's Box. Apparently it was what brought life to Earth and inside it there is one more thing. Not hope, as most versions of the Greek myth tell us, but a plague that will wipe out all life on earth. Lara is interested in the box because her reason d'etre is that: "Everything lost is meant to be found." But evil scientist Dr. Jonathan Reiss (Ciaran Hinds), a Nobel prize winner who is apparently searching for the perfect poison, wants what is in the box. Along for the ride is Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), a charming rogue from Lara's past who might be the yin to her yang.Alexander the Great is involved in all of this as well, but that is just exposition. As was the case with the first Tomb Raider film, Lara Croft goes globe trotting, visiting as many continents as possible before the final credits. More importantly, each and every opportunity for putting in some stunts (not to be confused with CG effects) is taken advantage of, including Lara out for a horseback ride. Director Jan de Bont ("Speed") and first time screenwriter Dean Georgaris have put together a superior sequel, and Jolie is much more comfortable in the role. Lara Croft's biggest similarity to James Bond is not all the stunts but the overwhelming sense of being cool. No matter where on the planet she finds herself, Lara always knows more than here enemies and has friends close at hand. But beneath the glamorous adventures and close brushes with death, Lara Craft has a series of reality checks to go through in "The Cradle of Life." Part of it is professional, since there is growing reason to believe that finding Pandora's box is not a good idea. But the other part is personal, since Sheridan keeps insisting there is something between them worth pursuing. The common denominator is that both of these issues speak to Croft's feminine side. Clearly she is all woman, but much more, and being put in the position of being either a modern Pandora or an ordinary woman does not make Lady Croft happy. The endings of these two plot lines might be predictable, but at least they give the character and the movie some depth.Speaking of being unhappy: This film was banned in China because "it damaged China's reputation, giving the impression of a country in chaos, with no government and over-run by secret societies." A movie has to deserve at least four stars for doing something like that. Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life (Full Screen Edition)

While most seem to be either a real big fan of the Lara Croft Tomb Raider movies or someone who despises them, I'll take up the role of a big fan. Just as in the first movie, Angelina Jolie's rendition of Lara Croft is absolutely wonderful. This second film, in what is undoubtedly going to be many, is another great action flick that is enjoyable entertainment from the beginning to the end. While I only have a vague, passing familiarity with the video games, I can say, without a doubt, that this and the first movie make an enormously enjoyable leap from the pc screen to the silver screen.Angelina Jolie's performance as Lara Croft, to include her impeccable British accent, is nothing less than stunning. I find it absolutely wonderful to see such a beautiful and agile actress take on the "James Bond" type role and handle it with such seeming ease. While these films won't win her any Oscars, they will indelibly mark her among the tops in action film stars. Gerard Butler's performance as Terry Sheridan makes another great performance by him after his leading role in "Attila."Director, Jan de Bont deserves a great amount of praise for his direction of this box office smash, something of which he's quite familiar with having other directing credits to include "Speed" and "Twister." The score for this film greatly enhances the entire theatrical experience of the film. The Premise:Tomb Raider, Lara Croft finds herself on another mission to the save the world as she discovers an orb, which is the map to the Pandora's Box. Unfortunately for her, another tomb raider shows up when she discovers it and steals it from her, nearly killing her in the process. This other tomb raider happens to be working for Dr. Jonathan Reiss (Ciaran Hinds) who happens to be the worlds leading manufacturer of biological weapons.Lara is soon visited by the British secret service, MI-6 and she finds herself on a mission to save the world, sanctioned by the Queen herself. All she needs now is a little help from an old "friend" in Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), who happens to be a former SAS Major, turned mercenary and who is now stuck in a Russian prison. The British government agrees to secure his freedom to help her. What follows from there is nothing less than another outstanding Lara Croft Tomb Raider action film that is highly enjoyable and I most certainly look forward to future endeavors in this film series. {ssintrepid}Special Features:- Commentary by director Jan de Bont- Deleted/Alternate scenes- Featurettes:*Training*Vehicles and Weapons*Stunts*Visual Effects*Scoring- Gerard Butler's Screen Test-Music Videos:*Korn "Did My Time"*The Davey Brothers "Heart Go Faster"-Original Theatrical Web Site Archive - Tomb Raider - Angelina Jolie - Dvd - Action Adventure'

Bodybuilding - diets, fitness

I had been weight training for about two and a half years before purchasing this book. I've tried numerous routines over that time - some I've found online, some I pulled from magazines and books - and I usually get bored after a couple months, so I wanted to try Orvis' technique. First off, be aware that this book is designed for the entry-level lifter. It assumes you either (a.) seldom/never lift free weights or (b.) have been out of lifting for a while. This book is perfect for that gym-goer who is afraid of leaving the Nautilus/cardio areas of the gym.It starts you off relatively slow with total body workouts and by the second month has you working a more typical bodybuilding schedule grouped by muscle area. The schedule has you working out three days a week, and most workouts can be completed in about 30-45 minutes assuming you don't have to wait for any machines/benches.Orvis doesn't cover cardio or nutrition. While that would be a nice addition, the book never makes the pretense of being a comprehensive fitness book - it solely delivers weight training workouts. What I enjoyed most about Orvis' plan was the all-inclusive workout style. When so many programs tout one or two methods of lifting (pyramid, inverted pyramid, super sets, drop sets, etc.), he covers every one of these, rotating through different training styles every couple of weeks. The lifting variety will keep the program interesting and will also prevent your muscles from growing accustomed to a single routine and plateauing. Having worked out for some time, I was impressed when my muscles were sore after starting the super set training week. The main problem I found was that Orvis' program sometimes overlooks certain muscle groups for an entire week. Often I found myself adding a bicep curl, French curl or calf lift to the week's schedule because the book overlooked it. I can see overlooking secondary muscles for a week, but not biceps or triceps. Doing bench presses or lat pulldowns won't give my arms a sufficient workout for an entire week.Overall, I found the book to be great. It's very portable and I've recommended it to a few folks I've met at the gym who are stuck in "Nautilus Land." I would recommend sitting down at the beginning of the week, looking over the schedule, taking a mental inventory of which muscles you will be working on and compensating if any certain group is overlooked. His workouts tend to be a little more oriented toward lower body development, so you may find yourself adding some upper body sets on occasion.Orvis' workouts are limited to just the major (common) lifts. If you're more than just a beginning weight lifter, I would strongly recommend purchasing "Strength Training Anatomy" or "The Encylopedia of Modern Bodybuilding" in addition to this book so you can get a better idea of what alternate lifts you can do to better work certain muscle groups or add more variety to your time at the gym. When paired together, I actually found this program to be great once I got past the first month. The super set/drop set/pyramid weeks are a blast.I would love to see Orvis publish a book oriented toward bodybuilders who have more time to devote to lifting and require more comprehensive muscle training. Weight Training Workouts that Work

I am a 40 year old woman, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthrtis in February of this year, and put on steroids to avoid deformity in my hands. The doctors had mentioned that exercise was no longer an option, but a "must do". Being a novice to the gym, and knowing absolutely nothing about weight training, I felt very intimidated just watching everyone. I would try to copy what people were doing, but I soon found out that with arthritis you have some "bad days", and you are limited to certain exercises. When I approached a trainer to ask questions, they told me to sign up for 10 sessions for $650.00. Well not everyone can do that these days. I became depressed, I went online in search of the perfect video, or book, anything that would help. I stumbled on a review of this book, and the price was not going to break the bank!! I ordered it and 10 days into my work out, I am no longer uncomfortable at the gym, I know what to do! I don't have to ask around. I take the book to the gym with me, it is user friendly, I understand the terminology, and James Orvis writes it so there is no guessing involved!! Like the Nike commercial saids, "JUST DO IT!!" It gives you such a confidence high!!I still have rheumathoid arthritis, but I have a stronger body now, and on thoes bad days, I mentally feel good! Order this book you will not regret it!! I emailed James, and he took the time out to respond, and he gave me the inspiration to keep up the good work, I do feel like I have a personal trainer!

Thank you James Orvis for writing this book. This is a great companion for anyone with an interest in weight training, and once you read what he has to say, you will realize you must weight train. I had been stuck in a circuit rut at my gym, always too intimidated to figure out how the other machines worked. I got this book and it changed everything. He's got twelve weeks of workouts planned, three days a week. Every exercise is explained thoroughly, complete with pictures and pointers on common mistakes. The workouts are also great. They will keep you interested in your program and feeling great afterwards. The book is a paperback spiral, so it is perfect to bring to the gym and refer to during your workout. I highly recommend this book for everyone with an interest in weight training. It makes working out simple, yet challenging.

I have been using this book for 4 weeks, and have indeed seen a difference in my muscle tone. My friends have even said that they have noticed a difference in my appearance. What I found remarkable, and did not previously know, is that I could lift more and more weight with each passing workout. This really helped to encourage me, because I could literally see my strength improving. The reason that I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel it is almost necessary to have access to a gym to really do all of these workouts effectively. Also, the section that has "Supersets" is potentially difficult to do because of the fact that you have to go back and forth between 2 pieces of equipment in each excercise. In a public setting, this is very hard to complete without interruption, because the piece of equipment not being used may become occupied by someone else. I can say, however, that there are a lot of excercises that can be done at home with free weights, and I have even been using the Total Gym that I bought some months ago and has been collecting dust in my closet to complete some of the excercises. All in all, this book is a very useful guide to anyone who is interested in adding weight lifting to their fitness routine. - Diets - Weight Loss - Fitness - Strength Training'

Toshiba Laptops - laptop, toshiba laptops

Background, Im a freshman in college, Im not a drone that lives in a cave with my face in a computer all day, however, I do work with computers in multiple fashions. In 2006, I owned an hp pavilion (P.O.S, 4/10), 2007 I owned a Gateway T-series laptop( pretty good 7/10), 2009 I bought a Mac book pro (8.5/10) I thought it was an amazing all around computer and I would only stay with a mac from then on. Wrong, then in 2011 I bought a Toshiba M-645. Also, I have purchased 3 Toshiba laptops already, 1 for my father, 1 for my sister, and one for me.

If the rumor that PC's laptops are all bad and we all should move on towards a Macbook pro is true. Then most of us have over looked the Apple Biter. The Toshiba M-645, a well built laptop.

It has a gorgeous 14" display, quiet fan, handy back-lit keyboard, lightweight/size, amazing speakers by harman/kardon with dolby advance audio(sell point) i5 processor, great keyboard. Sleep and Charge,HDMI,multimedia touch buttons, usb 3.0, sleep and play, enough memory on the hard drive to last you a few years and many more features. Oh ya, Intel wireless display is Heaven.

This laptop has a unique and professional feel. It is made out of sturdy plastic instead of aluminium, however, its all personal preference. Windows 7 is a major upgrade from Windows vista, now imagine the upgrade from windows xp. Mac OS 10 is not perfect and neither is the macbook pro. Why do you think there is the apple protection program and the loading circle that appears a bit too much, plus so many updates? Compared to Mac O.S. 10 snow leopard, I would say windows got back on its feet after falling with Vista. And this Toshiba model compliments its operating system in order to call it the apple biter.

A few cons of this laptop are battery power, I personally achieved an average of 4 hours brand new, now i usually get about 3.15 hours. For others, blu-ray is absent. Third, no blue-tooth. 4th.

If you personally think that Apple Macs are the laptop standard, think again, the new kid on the block just upgraded its processor to the second generation of the I core series. Since I kept both laptops for reasons, I would definitely recommend both laptops. However, for this laptop I'll give it a score of 9.2 of 10 and is my new favorite not just because its new, but because it has more bang for its buck.

That short battery life may kill this deal for you, if you're not a windows fan since you have purchased horrible PC computers in the past, this computer may in fact change all that. If you're a Mac user, then this computer is an easy transfer of usage. For 800$ this take a big bite out of the Apple Mac Book Pro. Definitely worth it. Toshiba Satellite M645-S4116x 14.0" LED Laptop (Black)

The description of this item clearly states that the laptop has a ExpressCard (34/54) slot. I'm here to tell you that it does not have any kind of expresscard slot. For that reason I sent it back the day after I got it.

Other things of note... while you may think the textured exterior will prevent fingerprints, let me assure you this thing is a fingerprint magnet. I only had it for a day and a half and it was smudged like a mother. The keyboard keys seemed to get fingerprint smudges easily too, and that's something I've never seen before. It was almost like the keys had a glossy black enamel on them. Glossy black enamel = fingerprint magnet.

One final thought... I have never in my life seen so much crap installed on a computer. I swear to you there were no less than 25 apps running in the background, 3/4 of them Toshiba bloatware. AND they don't send you any kind of driver/utility CD so if you want to do a clean install of Windows, you'll be forced to go to the Toshiba website and spend a good hour of your time downloading drivers and any optional apps you may want to install. I don't know how or when computer manufacturers got it into their heads that they don't need to include recovery or driver CDs or DVDs with their machines, but it's a trend that needs to go away. It's annoying and thoughtless. It shows a complete disregard for a user's possible needs. What it really is, at least in the case of some manufacturers, is a ploy to get you to send them even more of your hard earned money so THEN they will send you what should have been included with your purchase in the first place.

Thankfully, Amazon's return policy is amazing. - Core I7 - Laptop - Laptops - Toshiba Laptops'

Easy To Install - wiper blade, wiper blades

For just $37.54, you will get a great deal with these wipers. It glides across my windshield like silk and makes it very clear. Now compare that with what BMW charges, which cost $99.99 plus tax from my local BMW stealership in Los Angeles, there's no doubt you are getting a great bargain here. In fact I heard and I totally agree with people around the BMW internet forum that these are superior to the ones BMW sell to you. The replacement process is easy, just tilt your old wipers approximately 45 degrees away from the windshield, move the latch in an up ward position to unhook the old ones, make sure one hand is holding the old wiper blade so that it doesn't fall directly on your hood once you unlock them, and replace it with the new ones using the same size blade "one is 22 inches and the other is 24 inches, and position it to the original orientation, adjust the latch lever back to it's lock position and carefully position the blade back towards the windshield. Now repeat this process for the other one. Spray your windshield with water nice and wet and then test the wiper using the washer release lever. You will know if you install it correctly when the wiper glide across the windshield effortlessly without any horrible sound and without any streaks.

Update 5-25-2011

During the winter-rain season, I did notice that the driver's sided wiper had a dragging effect, which cause a very loud mourning sound. I tried adjusting the blade while it was raining, but it did not do the trick. However, I did notice on non-rainy days the wipers worked fine when using the washer and wiper feature on my car. Bosch 3397001539 Wiper Blades - Set of 2

As everyone else has said, these fit perfectly and were very easy to install. Slide the lock tab to unlock position, remove old one, line up new one in same orientation, and slide the lock back to lock position! THANK YOU fellow reviewers, for letting me buy with confidence that this would fit my car!

Like many others who left reviews, I too had a heck of a time finding the right windshield wiper blades for my 2003 BMW 525i. The local O'Reilly Auto Parts had 2-3 models of wipers that were suppose to fit my car but none of them did. Autozone wont even special order and BMW wanted to charge $80. If I hadnt tried several wipers beforehand I would be skeptical of ordering online but after messing with them for so long, as soon as I saw the pics, I had no doubt these are the right ones!! Perfect fit!

Fit perfect and a snap to install. Been looking for the past month for wiper blades, for some reason none of the local auto part stores carry the size i need. Of course the dealership had them, but wanted $50 for ONE wiper. This is a great deal. - Wiper Blade - Easy To Install - Wiper Blades'

Socks

These socks are poorly made. Not soft, and they're pretty cheap. They're so small, I had to pull on them to stretch them to fit my foot. Also, they keep falling off. I would not recommend these. Buy a different sock because these aren't worth the money. Fruit of the Loom Women's 6-Pack Low Cut Socks,White,Size 4-10

This is a cheap sock, and it shows. Although supposedly ok for up to size 10, especially after washing, it isn't quite big enough even for my size-9 feet. It tends to slip down in the shoe a bit and frequently comes off when I take the shoe off. Look elsewhere.

The toes went up and down and not sideways then the heel of the sock was square on your heal. Sort of funny story I ended up thinking these were haines socks so I called haines and told them about it they promptly sent me two packs of socks at no charge. I relized I had made a mistake and called back the next day that I called the wrong company (yea I know its soooo like me to do things like this anyway! LOL) The woman told me it was there pleasure to still send the socks to me as she knew I would never buy anything but haines again. Fruit of the Loom has yet to respond to my e-mail (no customer service number that I can find) and its been 4 days. So in short Ill stick to what I know with Haines.

These socks are everything they claim to be. Soft, fit well, come out of the dryer looking like new. They also don't slide down in my shoes like some do. All this for a great price. I'm glad I got these.'

Xoom Accessories

I pre-ordered this cover for my Xoom after looking at the other covers offered on Amazon and not finding one that seemed to work with the Xoom just perfectly. I had to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive and it was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!

The quality of the leather is exceptional. The Xoom fits inside the cover just right - not too tight or too loose. There is an opening for everything you need on the tablet itself from charging, to power and volume, to camera. The stitching is very good quality.

The two things I was concerned about when ordering this was if the Velcro would be strong enough to keep the Xoom inside (especially when in portrait position) and the stand - from the pictures it didn't look very sturdy or well designed. First, the Velcro is excellent. It has enough hold to keep the Xoom firmly in whatever position you want it to be. Once in place, your Xoom won't move unless you release the hold. The stand on the back of the cover is actually excellent. It is much sturdier than it looks in the pictures. I found it great that it has a strong magnet to keep it closed when not needed. There is a ribbon that keeps the stand from sliding open more than you want. I've been able to adjust the angle of the stand and have no problems with it staying in place. The stand itself is thick and strong.

The entire cover is sleek and professional looking. It was worth the wait and very much worth the money. I am very happy with it. It is now my favorite accessory I've bought for my Xoom, with the keyboard being my next favorite. I expect it will last a long time and be the protection I need since I carry the Xoom around with me everywhere. When I place my keyboard on top of the open cover, it's the perfect height for typing comfortably.

I believe that this is the best option out there so far to cover your Xoom! Too bad Motorola didn't think of all the little details when designing their cover. And thank heavens this company took the time to do just that! rooCASE Executive Portfolio (Black) Leather Case Cover with Landscape / Portrait View for Motorola XOOM Android Tablet

I initially preordered this case before any reviews had come out so I was skeptical at first. After receiving this case however, I could not have expected anything more. My Xoom fits very nicely inside of the case as the interior detaches from the portfolio allowing for even more flexibility. All of the holes in the case are cut out at very generous junctions allowing for full functionality of the device while still being protected. The best part of this case has to be the kick-stand that allows you to set the device at different angles instead of constantly being required to hold it. This has allowed for many of the type-heavy apps to become more useful as I know longer have to hold it with the same hand that I am attempting to type something with.

All in all, I am very pleased with this case and would purchase from this company again in the future.

looks like leather, feels like leather, smells like leather.....sooooo I guess it is leather...great case for my Xoom. Solid construction, good fit and ALL ports are open without removing case. Stand on back of case great to set on desk at 45 degree angle without removing case.....

Couldn't have asked for a better case. The xoom fits perfectly into the leather sleave, and the entire case is put together very well. The Velcro on the back of the sleave allows for viewing in landscape and portrait. Even when the xoom is enclosed in the zippered case it can be charged due to the duel zippers that allows for a gap to insert the charging plug. The only downside I can find is the fact that the speakers are blocked when the sleave is resting in the zippered case.Even then the sound quallity is affected very little.

The Roocase for Xoom works well as a portfolio type case for the Xoom. It's made well, and made for the Xoom diminsions. The con that I have with it is it's functionality. The inner case that is meant to fit over the Xoom itself slides down over the backward facing camera, and is extremely bulky. The most annoying part is that you must remove the inner case from the cover to turn on the Xoom because of the location of the power button. That means that you rip the inner cover off the velcro to turn on the Xoom then place it back into the cover. I don't use the inner case. I use the rubber mold that came with my Xoom and put it inside the Roocase cover.

It is much better than the Motorola case in many aspects, but I found the following problems that irritated me enough to return it and try another slim leather case sold on amazon.

I will clarify that I bought the grey one, which has had a known issue with some units with the velco not working properly and the manufacturer is correcting. Manufacturer contacted me and clarified that the black case does not have the velcro issue and offered to give me a black one as an exchange. Very impressed by the customer service quality. Since I already ordered another one, I declined the generous offer.

So in general (black or grey):

- The side leather covering is too wide, it covers right up to the edge of the screen, which is prefect for protection, but when I am using the browser in full screen mode and want to invoke the "Quick Controls" it makes it a little difficult.

- The flap that props case up at 45 degrees is not strong enough, it bows under weight of the case + Xoom and sometimes flip shut, dropping the case flat.

- The velcro at the back of the inner case (circular patches) are strong, a little too big and awkward against the fingers, specially if you want to use it as a reader.

- It is rather bulky. Probably because it is built with good quality leather and good quality zipper, etc, that adds considerable bulk to the whole thing. If you want to enjoy th slimness of the Xoom, not the right case. Some people like the protection on a $600 or $800 item, some people prefer the skinniness of the Xoom, to each their own.

On the plus side:

- The case is built well and if you are going to carry only your xoom, a few business cards, a pen (or stylus) and 2 sheets of paper, it is great. Protects the screen very well. Though I don't know if it is TSA approved. I have a neoprene case that I have been using prior to this one and I don't have to take the Xoom out of the neoprene to go through airport security. Not sure if the leather one would be allowed.

- The leather, zipper switching of highest quality I have seen on any case

- The color quality is great.

- The xoom can be placed at all 4 angles 0/90/180/360 such that for charging I can just open a slit on the zipper.

- Definitely worth the price.'
