Pro's:

-slightly higher water volume than the Maytag model

-OK tasting water

-did not leak

-comes with the stick on date stamp, so you know when to change the filter

Cons:

-longer in length than the Maytag, really not an issue for me, but could be depending on your fridge's shelving.

-I returned this filter because it left a plastic or bitter taste to the water. I fill a quart bottle each day for drinking at work. I was immediately able to taste the difference between this filter and the Maytag one. But, I left it installed hoping that it would go away after a week or so of use. But it didn't, so I returned it.

It's not like I'm a picky water drinker either. I'm totally happy with cheap bottled water like Costco's Kirkland brand more than the expensive stuff like Evian & Fuji and the like. But, the "plasticky" taste was something I really couldn't live with. I gave it 3 stars because the product worked well and build quality was fine. Taste is subjective, so others might like the water it produces just fine. Water Sentinel WSM-1 Refrigerator Replacement Filter

This is the second or third time I have ordered from this company. The product arrives exactly as advertised, fits perfectly, and works well. I will continue to buy this as long as I have the Maytag refrigerator. btw: I would NEVER buy another Maytag refrigerator; just too many problems.

While the price helped quite a bit, not knowing ahead of time this unit was longer than OEM would have been nice to know. I had to redo my shelving enough to make storage of taller items near impossible on the shelves. Haven't noticed a difference in taste, so as far as quality I can't complain.'

Laptop Cover - shell, black

I bought this MCover because a black Speck case wasn't available. Plus it was cheaper. I'm glad I did. This case perfectly fits my 15" unibody mac. There are tiny plastic tabs that clip over the top and bottom of the laptop, making it very snug. To remove it for any reason, I unclip a tab on each side of the top shell. After I slide it off a few inches, I can easily unclip the rest of the tabs and remove the shell. The bottom comes off a little easier. The bottom has a bunch of slots to cool the laptop, and 2 little foamy circle pads, plus the little standing tabs.

Although the black colored shell is semi translucent, you can't see the mac logo until the laptop is on. Then the logo is seen glowing through the shell. If you don't like that, you can just tape a piece of black paper on the inside of the shell.

The top shell has a satin plastic finish with a 1" matte finish around the edges. The satin part holds fingerprints but I don't care. The top shell is light- my laptop screen stays exactly at the angle I open it.

Better than all this is the store's great return policy. My first package had a flaw, but they responded promptly and sent me a replacement within a week! They were fast and made my life easy so I could finally take my laptop outside. BLACK mCover® Hard Shell Case for 15" A1286 Aluminum Unibody MacBook Pro (Black keys, 15.4-inch diagonal screen)

Let me begin by stating that I seldom give five stars.

I was pleasantly surprised with this cover. Most of the reviews were right on, but since it was significantly less expensive than most I was not expecting it to be as well made as it is.

In response to one of the questions posted, The cover itself is glossy/shiny with the exception of about a 1 1/4" border around the top which is matte, as is the center square over the Apple logo.

Also, contrary to the experience of one of the reviewers, the cover for my 15" MBP DID come with the keyboard protector. I was not expecting this, nor was it a deal breaker because I did not see myself using it anyway. I have to say I am amazed at this little piece of "rubber." It slightly translucent and cut to perfection, molding nicely around all of the keys. It is perfectly designed to fit into the recess of the keyboard. The protector has sufficient weight and static cling to stay put all on its own. It extends roughly 3/8" beyond the outer edge of the keys rising up out of the recess and ending just shy of the speakers on either side. Sure, it is a different tactile experience, and one that I never thought I would want to deal with. But it is good to have and so well made, I will stick it out for a while and see if I can adjust to the change. My only question on this product in general is whether covering the keys will add to the internal temp?

When installing the top cover you will notice the both sides have the little clips to catch the edge, but only one of the long sides has the clips. Lacking any instructions I decided to put the cover on with the two clips on the front edge, figuring that they are more important at the front when lifting the cover to open it up. So far so good.

PROS: All of the above, plus the cover does not prevent the laptop from closing all the way. Some of the competition do, especially the leather ones. If it didn't close all the way you would have to shut down alll the time instead of allowing it to sleep. This is because if the cover is slightly open, it can wake up and the drive would be spinning while you are on the go - not good.

CONS:

1. With the bottom cover in place, the display angle is restricted some and will not open much beyond the 90 degree mark. I couldn't find my old plastic protractor, so I am guessing at 100 degree-ish. (Remember protractors? I tossed my in 1973!) If you do not lie in bed, knees up and cover wide open you will not find this to be a problem.

2. The other problem is more of a design issue with the laptop itself, but being that the display hinges are too "loose" already, the slight weight addition of the cover causes the lid to close too easily depending on the angle of the base. I would like the ability to tighten the MBP hinges. I will mention this to Steve.

Question to be determined: Will covering the keys will add to the internal temp? We shall see.

Wish List: As mentioned by another reviewer, the product photo is not totally accurate in its depiction of the Apple logo. This area is a black translucent material. With the laptop off, you do not see the logo. With the laptop on, the logo is visible, but not as crisp and clear as it appears in the photo. I do not have a problem with this, I only point it out in my anal need to be accurate.

A Prime Positive: On another note, I have been a Amazon Prime member for a few years now, and if my memory serves me correctly UPS had been delivering my goods. This of course meant no Saturday deliveries. When I placed my order on Thursday it indicated that it would arrive on Saturday. Prime includes free 2-day shipping on most eligible products, but I really didn't expect it on a Saturday. I was wrong. Early this morning (Saturday) FedEx delivered my packages. Nice!

I do not work for Amazon, and admittedly I do have a problem parting with $79 annually, but I do so nonetheless. But for those like me who didn't know, you can give four other family members their own Prime membership to use with their own method of payment as long as you maintain your account. There is no additional charge for this an as far as I can tell the only thing you share is a comment on your page indicating that the account is linked to mine as THE MASTER.

Advice: Don't get too caught up in being the Prime account MASTER. When my kids were small, I brainwashed them to refer me to as FATHERMAN! I even had a t-shirt with a big red "F" on the chest! The fun didn't last long, its amazing what the slightest bit of separation can do to an image. I quickly became known as FAT HERMAN, and have been so for about 20 years now with no end in sight! - Black - Macbook Case - Case - Shell'

Bohemian Long Skirts - designer skirts, skirts

I bought this skirt because I am going on a cruise in May and thought it would be nice and comfy to wear on the ship and around the different islands. I am SO GLAD I did!!! This skirt is so comfortable and fits perfectly and true to size. I'm 5'5 and the skirt falls right on top of my foot with the top folded over(which is the length i wanted). I wear it "low rise" or pulled up as a dress. Either way this skirt/dress is awesome! I highly recommend to anyone. Another plus is that it's flowy and cool, meaning it would keep you warm on a cool night and cool on a warm day. I just can't say it enough, I love this skirt! Ladie's Micro Jersey Fold-Over Long Skirt (Large, White)

Supposed to be a dark brown... really looks more like a brownish/green, kind of like you left your chocolate brown skirt out in the sunshine too long! It's still a very nice skirt, though. The only other thing to keep in mind is that it's a jersey knit, and so is more 'showy' than other skirts (as in will show any possible fat you may have on your rear or hips!!). I tend to wear mine with a longer top. Would recommend if the color doesn't bother you.

I love this skirt! It is wonderfully comfortable and great for casual wear as well as dressing up. The white is a little see-through, which I expected, so I wear a slip underneath. I also bought a black one, which doesn't need a slip. Love them both!

This skirt is great! Very comfortable and "flowy." I'm 5'4", 130lbs, size 6, and my size small fits perfect. I bought the white, and even though it is quite transparent, when it is folded over as a skirt, the double layer creates the extra needed coverage. I wish the other colors were available - I would definitely buy them!

I wasn't sure what size to order but went with my normal S (black) and the skirt fits and looks great. It's very comfortable and I actually wear it as a maternity skirt now. You can either fold the top or put it over the belly - perfect. The black one is not 'see-through'...I'm thinking about ordering the white one as well. - Skirts - Designer Skirts - Bohemian Long Skirts - Long Skirts'

Double-handle Faucets - nice faucet, delta

I just installed this faucet and it is pretty cheaply made. The fittings are mostly loose, but that can mostly be corrected with some elbow grease. The worst thing about the faucet is the sprayer mechanism. The sprayer never really shuts off, so even when in "regular" mode the sprayer drips. One star since it is bad at its intended function. Single Handle Centerset Pull Out Kitchen Sink Faucet with Versatile and Swivel Sprayhead, Chrome

I took the risk ignoring the negative reviews. Eventhough I paid extra for a 2-day express shipment, I was pleasantly surprised to get it 1 day early and it came nicely packaged. It was an easy install after a quick trip to HD to plug up the Hot water feature since we're only using the Cold water. I should add the single handle can be set-up as necessary as my wife is left-handed and I'm a righty! It has the high-end look, in addition, the pull-out/swivel spray head is perfect for the BBQ Island sink. Great buy!

We've only had this faucet installed for a few days, so we can't comment on its durability. I really like that you can choose the location for the controls. I'm impressed with the overall design and would choose it again. The instructions could be alot more detailed.

"the faucet is fairly great-looking, and fit very well into my kitchen's circumstances. the sufficient height makes it very convenient to use the water. the finish is also great, highly recommended for kitchen upgrade.

This faucet was a great purchase. It has excellent built quality, works really well, and at a good price.

Appearance:

The Chrome finish is smooth and covered with protectant oil. The handle has a hard foam cushion that gives more traction and control. They did not go cheap on the material and the supplied parts. The product photos in Amazon are a true representation.

Installation:

The installation is simple and straightforward. I installed it by myself. However, if you are not comfortable working on plumbing and tools, get a plumber to do the install for you. For the ones who want to DIY, here are a few tips:

- It does not come with a cover plate, so study your existing fixture and where it connects to your sink. If it has 3 holes, you will need a cover plate or a sink whole cover Danze D493172RB Faucet Accessories 8" CC Cover Plate - RB, Oil Rub Bronze

- Depends on the style of your existing faucet and sink, uninstall it might be difficult due to rust, hard to reach bolts and lack of the right tool.

- A basin wrench is almost a MUST HAVE for this job Superior Tools 3811 11-Inch Basin Wrench

Function:

It works as it should with two high lights:

- The smooth fell of the handle made controlling water flow effortless. I believe I will conserve more water simply because I can easily run it at a smaller flow rate.

- The spray is POWERFUL. When the spray button is pressed, it adds pressure to the water flow. (Note: it may splash a bit when you use it at full throttle)

Over all, I highly recommend this product to anyone who wishes to get a quality kitchen faucet at an affordable price.

I really love this faucet. I was frustrated with the difficulty of cleaning the entire sink or a large pan after cooking. This product is designed to solve this problem. The faucet head detaches from the support so you can pull it out. You can also turn it around the sink by the flexible spring U that contains the hose. These two features make cleaning work so much easier and faster. It is not only functionally useful, but also is made with a good quality. Moreove, it can be easily installed. I was able to install it within an hour after i got it. I am really satisfied with this product. - Delta - Faucets - Nice Faucet - Single Handle'

Laptop Backpack - laptop backpack, targus

This thing is a MONSTER! It can hold as big a laptop as you could possibly own, with room to spare. Lots of compartments, almost too many. Bigger, in this case, is not better for me (but I don't have a giant laptop). Two things to keep in mind: 1. It can slip off your shoulders if you are a smaller framed person. My female co-worker tried it and this was a problem for her. 2. It is too big to be considered your "personal item" as an airline carry on. This is the kicker for me, as I travel quite a bit and my laptop backpack has to count as my personal item so that I can also bring my rolling carry-on suitcase. If you only need to bring a single bag on a short trip, this bag has plenty of room for a change of clothes, toiletries, etc., but if you need to bring more, then this bag will count as your big carry-on with most airlines. Just wanted to give people a heads-up! Targus XL Backpack Designed for 17 Inch Notebooks TXL617 (Black with Blue Accents)

If you are like me, and you have a large amount of books and other stuff to carry around, this bag is perfect. And it has several pockets to store sunglasses, a bag lunch, a nice cell phone pouch that can fit anything from a reasonably sized Nokia to a clamshell phone hanging off of the left shoulder strap, Palm Pilot, iPod - with even a slot to fit your earbuds or headphones through, although that's kind of tricky -- a very well-padded storage area for your Notebook computer, all the connections and wires that accompany it, and, top it all off, a place for your water bottle.

If you are taking a lot of classes with a lot of books, the compartments are very spacious and can hold a lot. Unlike most reviewers here I find it very comfortable when full, and not heavy at all once you are used to a little extra weight.

Overall, I highly recommend this product, especially for the price, since a similarly equipped bag should cost over $[...] or more (but don't tell that to Amazon or the Manufacturer :D )

If you have a 17" laptop, then you know your choices for bags are small. I've always had good luck with Targus accessories, and this backpack is no exception. It's well constructed and made of good materials.

The compartments are varied and evenly distributed and (mostly) easy to access. The backpack is very adjustable, from the shoulder straps, to the waist strap, to the pouch straps (which allow you to place bulkier items in the inner pouch). The outer pouch/compartments even flip open with snap-clips for easier access).

There is no "one size fits all" for laptop bags, but this bag seems to have room to spare. I have a Toshiba P105-S9722 17" widescreen laptop that weighs in near 10lbs with the power supply included. The laptop slides effortlessly into the padded compartment (which is at the "bottom" meaning closest to your back when worn as designed). The compartment has a velcro strap to help prevent sliding. The compartment above the laptop has a sturdy base as yet another level of protection to prevent potential damage of your laptop. I find this very useful because I place my powersupply (1lb+ brick), power cord, and other misc. cords in there.

I've used this backpack as carry-on while traveling from NH to CA, and it was packed solid, but everything was very accessible and it still managed to fit under the seat as per airline regulations and JUST met the height/width/depth maximum limits. This may vary from airline to airline though. I had my Toshiba + power supply & cord, iPod, PSP (+ games), a few DVD's, two changes of clothes, a cordless USB mouse in the outer sidepocket, cordless shaver in the inner section, cell phone in the shoulder-strap mounted pouch (which is removable via clip and can be attached to your waist, or anywhere you wish), plus usb cables and various adapters, headphones, etc in various compartments, a couple magazines, a book, and some basic toiletries. It was not lightweight, but properly adjusting the straps helps, and wearing the waist strap for extended use is key!! I walked from one end of O'Hare to the other and although the weight had me winded (as any luggage would), the straps never hurt my shoulders, nor did I feel any discomfort from the laptop being against my back!

I would also like to add that the design of the compartments make it fairly simple to access wha tyou need without a lot of rummaging (provided you don't stuff too much into each one).

For the price, this is an exceptional backpack for those with big laptops that need to carry a lot of accessories, or travel.

Why not 5 stars? For the size, a bit of "modularity" would have been great. When you're not traveling or "packed to the gills" it would be nice to be able to "zip off" or unclip about half of the backpack. This could have been done with the same clips that the outer portion adjusts and opens up with. I would also like to have seen a specifically padded compartment for the laptop power supply, or at least a velcro solution for immobilizing supply & cord. These however, are minor issues, and this backpack is fantastic. - Backpacking - Targus - 17 Inch Laptop - Laptop Backpack'

Midi Keyboard

I bought a cheap yamaha keyboard about 6 years ago. It had the option of midi connection with computers, but at the time Yamaha wanted like half the price of the keyboard for the connecting cord! So I didn't get it. Now I was looking at this and the price is such a steal in comparison I thought I would try it. It worked! I have a piano program, and the cord connects to both my Vista computer and my XP computer without trouble -- just plug it in. Remember to plug the "In" into the "Out" and vise versa. It comes with instructions specially says to do that, and I messed up anyway. Silly me.

Good deal, I recommend it. But do remember that you need a piano program to make things happen, the same way you need a word processing program or something before you can type something on the computer with a normal typing keyboard. You can find freeware piano keyboard software such as Anvil Studio on the internet. USB MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Window Win Vista XP, Mac OS

I've tested this MIDI-to-USB cable under OS X (CoreMIDI) and Linux (JACK) with a Casio keyboard and a Yamaha digital piano. Everything works without problems. And the price point is remarkable! Most of these adapters seem to cost around $40-50, so this is quite a deal.

And yes, you need to plug the end that says "MIDI Out" into your "MIDI In" socket on your keyboard, but that's how it always is with MIDI...

I hate leaving reviews claiming something's "broken", but in this case there were some serious problems. So my problems:

1. The device does not handle run-on MIDI commands properly. I doubt that many modern MIDI devices use run-on commands, as they were a somewhat confusing bit-saving mechanism from the 20th century. The keyboard I used was a Kurzweil SP-88. I suspect this is a design-defect in the product. More on this below.

2. The device would not enumerate on my main PC. That box is a custom-built machine using a P5B Deluxe motherboard which has never had any problems with any other USB devices. I even tried clocking the box down to normal speeds; Vista gives me a vague error about the device malfunctioning, and Ubuntu gives me a read error during enumeration in dmesg (which, to be fair, wasn't any more useful in this context.)

3. For all the reviewers who said the cable was labeled backwards: MIDI cables are always connected so that the "OUT" of one device goes to the "IN" of another device. MIDI supports a ring-shaped daisy-chain of devices that way. This cable was not labeled backwards.

Elaborating on point 1:

On the wrong equipment, when you do this:

1. Press-and-hold key1.

2. Press-and-hold key2.

3. Release key1.

4. Release key2.

You get this:

1. Press-and-hold key1.

2. Press-and-hold key2.

3. Release key1.

4. Press-and-hold key2 again.

For those technically inclined, here's the data stream from my SP-88 using the old serial cable I was replacing (I had to resurrect a dead machine to get this; I'm forging note velocities for easier comparison):

90 40 45 3c 48 80 40 62 3c 61

Here's what this product read:

90 40 45 90 3c 48 80 40 62 90 3c 61

Here's the nearest valid sequence it could have provided:

90 40 45 90 3c 48 80 40 62 80 3c 61

Note the 80 instead of 90 in the third-to-last byte - "80" means "note off", "90" means "note on". This was a deal-killer for me; your mileage may vary.

I replaced the cable with an M-Audio cable from a local shop for 3x the price; that cable also reprocesses run-on commands, but does it appropriately (the third sequence above is what I would get.)

The seller was courteous and provided a full refund, including shipping, so all I lost to them was time. I'd buy from these guys again, just not this product.

Amazon has this generic web page for MIDI cables. It appears as if it is only for one product but is it not. It lumps a similar, but not identical, product , with the same price and shipping options but from DIFFERENT VENDORS/MANUFACTURERS. Buyer beware, they are not all the same!

Some cables work great, others are garbage, and they look similar. It all depends on the vendor. I found this merely by chance and I think it explains the extreme and polarized reviews in here. If you choose the different vendors the reviews are the same for all of them, in other words people have unknowingly been writing reviews for similar but different products in the same web page.

Amazon, how can you do this?!!

I bought the cable from HDE and it works great in both my Mac under OSX and a PC laptop under XP. No lags or anything wrong with my piano teaching program and a Yamaha keyboard. Then, I needed another cable and came back to the same page to order using "add to cart". I received one that had a different package, and although it looked similar, was not identical. When plugged in my Mac it had a horrible lag, skipped notes; basically matching various negative reviews by others. Only then I checked my order form and noticed it was from a different vendor: "Sound around", even though I thought I was ordering the same product!

Bottom line, if you come to this page, Amazon appears to select randomly the vendor assigned to the "add to cart button". To get what you want you need to select from the list of vendors in the "More buying choices" menu right below "add to cart". Notice that more than one vendor is fulfilled directly by Amazon and offers the same price, free super saver, etc. I will be promptly returning the one from Sound Around, and already ordered from HDE. The cable that looks like this is the one that worked for me (I have no affiliation!): USB MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Window Win Vista XP, Mac OS. Hope this helps someone.'

Memory Card Reader - card reader, sd card reader

I have used this 4 in 1 Memory Card Reader on Kingston, Ridata, and Transcend brands of SD cards of various capacities (512 MB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB) with no problems. Since it supports SDHC cards (High Capacity SD cards), it should work fine with SD cards of 16GB & 32GB (the maximum capacity).

Note: This card reader takes only regular SD cards. It will not take miniSD or microSD cards. As of this writing, the product title reads "... Memory Card Reader Writer SD MINISD ..." -- do not be misled! If you need a memory card reader that takes miniSD or microSD cards you can either:

1) Use a memory card adapter

For example, you can use a microSD card to SD card adapter to use your microSD card with this memory card reader. Kingston sells these microSD cards with microSD card to SD card adapters included: (i) 4GB microSD and (ii) 8GB microSD.

OR

2) Get a memory card reader designed for miniSD or microSD cards. Kingston makes one that takes all 3 types of SD cards (see Kingston Mobilelite).

It has a cap on each end; one for the USB connector and the other for the SD card slot. It has a rugged, translucent plastic casing, which feels very durable. It is also lightweight and compact.

The only fault I can find with it is that it doesn't have a lanyard or a place for attaching it to a keychain. In addition, the caps are not hinged and come off completely, so they are easy to lose.

Regardless, it works very well and it is very inexpensive. Definitely recommended! 10 in 1 Mini USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader Writer

I purchased these, with 4 16 GB SD cards. The cards were working perfectly, since I used them in my camera and my computer. As soon as I put the SD cards in these readers, they stopped working. Why? I have no idea. Then the card stopped working with other devices too. I checked all 4 readers and unfortunately they destroyed all my 4 SD cards, none of them readable by any other device.

I contacted seller. They were nice, but didn't accept any responsibility. The only thing they said, was that they will check the readers from now on to be sure something like this will not happen again. They sent me 4 new readers that are working fine, at least for the past few hours.

So, if you buy these readers, before inserting your SD card, check to be sure they are working fine. You can do it by using an old SD card without any info or picture on it. This way, you will not lose any file, but might lose the card itself.

It's insteresting when you buy a product and says it's plug and play and yet when you plug it in it doesn't play. Also said it came with an instruction manual hopefully a driver since it isn't plug and play like it is so indicated on the pakage, and yet it came with neither. I can't complain too much when you pay a dollar for something you get a dollars worth of work out of it. Thanks for the product though guys I now have a blue plastic paper weight or maybe a christmas tree ornament.

I ordered six of these. Four failed outright. . Two successes out of six is good reason to not buy from this vendor. The product cost is too low to mess with contacting their customer service.

If you order more than one ( like I ordered six) you are charged SIX shipping charges even though they ship all six in a single envelope with single 42 cent postage. Thieves !

I have ordered thousands of dollars of camera equipment through AMAZON in 2009. This is the first incident that causes me to be concerned with ordering from AMAZON and one of their allied vendors.

Be WARNED ! I only got nicked for a few dollars this time and it is a lesson learned.i

I bought this because the port on my digital camera wasn't working with its USB cable so I needed an SD card reader to get pictures off my camera. This thing is cute and portable, but it only worked once for me and now won't hold a connection when plugged into my USB hub. Good price but I got less than I paid for.

Received the card reader and tested it. seems to read the an sd card slower than expected. does not allow me to copy a large size file to sdcard, anything over 20 mb's will be denied but the card reader is a good buy for the cost.

My boyfriend bought this for me for Christmas because my new camera required an awkward USB cable and I hated carrying it to and from school or waiting to upload my pictures. It worked fine the first time I used it then after that my computer only recognized it about 1/14 times I tried to plug it in. I have a standard SDHC card, so there is no reason it shouldn't work and it lights up when it is plugged in, but there must not be a good connection somewhere because my computer won't pick up that it is plugged in (and yes I've tried other computers).

I can't say I'm all that upset, it is insanely cheap and it was a gift, but kind of a disappointment. - Card Reader - Memory Card Reader - Memory Card - Sd Card Reader'
