Bose In-ear Headphones

I've been looking for a good pair of headphones for running for a long time and these are great! They stay in place and you barely even realize you have them on. They do not subtantially block external noise, but I want to know when a car or truck is coming at me, so that isn't a bad thing. My only real question is how long they will last. Bose® IE2 audio headphones

I recently purchased these to substitute for my Bose over the ear headphones. I liked the sound that the over the ear headphones provide and the reviews were good for these so I decided to give them a try. First of all the sound is very good in my opinion and comparable to my over the ear headphones from Bose. I think that sound quality is subjective to the individual, so if you like the sound Bose products give, you will likely enjoy these headphones. They don't do a tremendous job of noise canceling but if you look at the paperwork included, Bose states that they are not designed to do so.

They really are very comfortable to wear. I've tried the regular tips and the stayhear tips and I wouldn't want to wear just the regular tips as they wouldn't stay in my ears. The stayhear tips are super comfortable and after a while I almost forget they are in my ears. Bose means it when they say that these headphones aren't in-ear headphones, but that's why I like them. Every in-ear headphone I've tried no matter what the tips are made of or how they are shaped make my ears hurt after a while and are ultimately just too uncomfortable (which is why I've used my ipod headphones for so long- they aren't in-ear).

Finally addressing an issue another reviewer had- they stated that in an environment with more background noise i.e. a subway station or on an airplane, the headphones were rendered useless. I don't personally feel that this is the case. I work in a microbiology lab and wear them while I'm working at two hoods both with blowers that make a lot of noise (they blow filtered air at me to prevent contamination). While it is true that I might have to turn the volume up slightly to compensate, these headphones are totally usable in a noisier environment and I can hear my music and audiobooks clearly. If I were using any other headphone in these conditions I would have to turn up the volume to a dangerous level for my hearing just to compensate for the noise of the hood. I feel that this reviewer shouldn't criticize a product based on characteristics they feel the product should have but never claim to have. If you want an in-ear headphone and the noise cancellation that in-ears would provide don't buy these then complain they don't cancel out outside noise.

I feel that the cord is also comparable to any headphone product out there. It's a pretty standard length and it's nothing special, but the one thing I do like about it, that I have never received in another headphone is the clip! I love the clip because it keeps the cord from getting caught on things and keeps it out of my work when I'm moving around in the hood. It is a great addition and I didn't know what I was missing until now!'

Disposable Diapers - imse vimse, cloth diapers

We've used this with out little one at the beach and in the pool. It fits great and is nice and light. No accidents whatsoever. As for on the way to the pool/beach, we put a normal diaper on over top just in case he pees. This swim diaper is small enough to be able to be covered by his normal diaper. Really cute too... looks like a baby speedo. Swimways Swim Diaper - Blue/Green Medium - Cloth Diapers - Imse Vimse - Reusable Swim Diaper - Baby'

Millassembly Work Tools - millassembly work tools, light weight compressor

Need a brad nailer for your workshop? Look no further, this little tool is great. The compressor is small, lightwieght and (relatively)quiet. The nailer is also light but neverthless feels substantial and well built. And the gun uses so little air the compressor hardly ever needs to run. I use it for woodworking and projects around the home. Enough power for hard woods, and it does not mar the finish. I considered spending more for a DeWalt or Porter-Cable set up, but for my needs I'm glad I bought this package. It's easy to carry the entire set in one hand (very convenient). I'll never need to go beyond the 2 1/2 inch max. capacity. So ask yourself what you really need. If your not doing framing, work alone, and want a quality finished product, buy this set. The only drawbacks are (i) the instruction manual with little actual instruction and (ii) the 3 week delivery time. Hopefully supplies will increase over time. Senco PC0947/FP18KIT 18-Gauge Brad Nailer Compressor Combo Kit

My wife purchased this combo package for me for my birthday this year (well, more like I bought it and thanked her for it). I have to say, I am impressed. THE BRAD NAILER:The gun is lightweight and small enough to get into tight spots, yet it appears to be very well built. The protective no-mar pad does not scratch prefinished moulding, and the side load magazine is convenient and easy to use. I shot about 200 2" brads while installing new 1/2" baseboards and 3/4" birch door trim in my bedroom. Every brad was countersunk to perfect depth, and I did not get a single jam. I ended up with very professional results and finished in 1/2 the time it would have taken me with the old hammer and finish nails.THE COMPRESSOR:The PC1010 will change the industry. For homeowners, hobby woodworkers, and customer service professionals in the cabinetry industry this is the perfect compressor. There is no need to lug around a 4 or 6 gallon compressor for a little brad nailer. You can easily carry the nailer, hose, and bread box sized compressor in one hand. From startup, this quiet, lightweight little workhorse takes about 2 minutes to pump up to 110 psi. I consistently got 10 shots before kick in, then another 40 seconds or so to recover. I nailed right through the recovery time, and never had to wait for the compressor to before driving any brads.SHORTFALLS:It is very difficult for me to find anything that I don't like about this one. However, rumor has it that Senco guns work best with Senco brads, and the local home improvement stores sell mostly PC and Bostich... so I will need to find another source. I would not recommend the PC1010 for anyone who wants to drive anything larger than 18ga brads, or run multiple air tools from a single compressor. Also - the compressor is so new that Senco has very limited literature on it, but I would be willing to bet they will get this taken care of soon.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Some of the best customer service I have had the pleasure to work with. If you purchased from an authorized dealer, and you have any problems with your equipment, I recommend calling Senco directly.

I agree with the other reviewers who have given praise to this product. I felt the same way till mine broke after less than a months use.Of course it was the compressor which broke, the part with the 90 day warranty. I did not catch that when I bought this.Senco is a good company, but I think this little compressor is not quite up to the quality of their other products. In my case it was the 1/4" copper tubing which brings the air to the tank that failed. It split where the tubing had been bent.I have fixed it with some liquid steel, since I'm on a job with it, I'm hoping the repair lasts till I have time to replace to tubing.I have used this to build two large bookcase and cabinet projects so far, and in doing so I have learned the compressors limitations. It does not do wellshooting two inch nails into MDF. It does not have the power to fully sink the nail into the material. I bought this combo for the light weightof the compressor, so I guess there must be some compromises. This won't take the place of more powerful compressors, but it is great for carrying to and from a job. I just hope I do not have problems with it in the future. I'm not sure I wouldrecommend this product, the 90 day warranty on the compressor is a big negative. especially since it seems to have some problems.

I got this package for very light duty use - woodworking shop projects and qtr-round molding on flooring. The nailer is a quality tool that sells for $120 everywhere so that makes the compressor only $75. I had a $15 coupon so the compressor was only $60 for me.The compressor is so light that it is no problem carrying it. The tank pressure is 125 lbs and I set the tank outlet pressure to 90 lbs. It shoots about 10 brads before it cycles but you can keep shooting as it runs. I used 5/8" brads on molding on a shop project and 2" brads on floor qtr-round without a single problem. This sure saves time and doesn't mar the wood. It is pretty quiet and also looks good. Getting to small jobs and using this little tool is a pleasure. I will get an air blower tip for it; so far I'm satisfied.

I upgraded to this from a cheap little electric brad nailer that could not sink a 1" brad. This tool is light and has plenty of power. The compressor is small & quiet and has absolutely no problem keeping up with the nailer. I own an old 5 horse 220 v compressor but wanted something to use inside the house without running hundreds of feet of hose from the garage. This will fill my needs perfectly. P.S. I shop online alot and would like to say that Amazon.com has the best customer service of any company I have dealt with.

I own several portable compressors, but hate to lug them around. So, I bought this one for installations of wood mantels and little odd and ends work (like attaching a piece of trim after the rest of the job is already done). The little compressor is lightweight and perfect for small jobs like these. On bigger jobs I still use one of my heavy duty compressors. So, that may be the problem some of the other reviewers are having. It's just not built for heavy duty work.

The gun on the other had was a disappointment. I already had a Senco XP 25 and prefer it. Still, it's a pretty good price for both pieces, so, no real complaints here. I've just set the newer one aside, for now.

Regarding the cheap 1/4 inch hose... pleeeease. Anyone with half a brain knows it's a cheap piece of krap, but will work fine for the occasional hobbiest. If you want a good hose, buy one. - Nailer - Senco - Millassembly Work Tools - Light Weight Compressor'

Cordless Electric Lawn Mower - cordless electric lawn mower, self-propelled

When my Toro self-propelled recycler mower finally lost its ability to be self propelled I simply used it as a push mower. Then the mower developed other problems so I decided to replace it. My yard is approximately 6000 square feet with a fairly steep sloping front and relatively flat sides and back areas. Since I had been using the Toro as a push mower, I decided to replace it with a push mower instead of a self propelled model. My lawn is comprised of tall fescue grass and is quite thick because I maintain it. I've always mulched the lawn so I was interested in getting another mower that mulched as well as the Toro did. After starting to research mowers I quickly became overwhelmed by the number of different brands of mowers, engine types and sizes, self-propelled or push, electric start or pull start, price ranges, and a variety of other factors. Actually, I was shocked to read that a top-rated Honda mower would cost me $800.00. For a lawn mower? I finally decided that the Lawn Boy 10603 would be suitable for my purpose, especially since it had high ratings for its mulching ability. I bought the mower at a local HD instead of from Amazon mainly because of the many reviews I read about the poor packaging of the mower.

I was especially interested in the claim that the Lawn Boy would start on the first pull, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually did so. Set up of the mower was quite simple and it took me about 15 minutes to get it out of the box and have it ready to mow. I started by mowing the flat side of my yard and immediately noticed that it seemed to be quite hard to push. In fact, it was harder to push the Lawn Boy than it was to push the Toro. When I started mowing the steep front part of the lawn I was struggling to get the thing up the hill. I'm 6 feet tall, weigh 210 pounds and am in fairly good shape so I was depressed about my inability to easily push the mower up the hill. It finally dawned on me to check the weight of the mower and was surprised to find that it weighs almost 70 pounds. That might not sound like much, but it is. Before you buy this mower, get a wheelbarrow and fill it with any kind of material until you have a total weight, including the wheelbarrow, of 70 pounds. Push that around on a flat surface for a while and then push it up and down a hill and see how it feels. If you have no problem doing that for about 45 minutes then by all means buy this mower. If not, you will need to buy either a push mower that weighs far less, or go with a self-propelled model. In spite of its weight, I gave the mower a good rating because it starts on the first pull and it mulches extremely well. I returned the mower and got the model 10604, which is the same mower except it is self-propelled. The variable speed works well and I can now mow my lawn without struggling. Lawn Boy 10603 20-Inch 149cc 6-1/2 GT OHV Kohler Gas Powered Push Lawn Mower

I have been using a similar Lawn Boy mower for more than a decade. Little pieces break and a screw gets lost here and there, but the old mower kept running. In short, we didn't do much on upkeep and it kept on chugging. Now, time for a new model and this arrived, delivered free with Prime shipping to my door, and virtually no setup. 1) take out of box, 2) unfold handle, 3) add the entire 20 oz of oil supplied, 4) add gas, and 5) 1 pull and I was mowing. The back bag system and mulching are standard. For free, you get a side discharge attachment also sent free from Lawn Boy when you register. And goodness, I have never seen an easier registration system online. Push 1 button while registering, and you get the side discharger shipped free. Even the model number and serial number are printed on the included manual.

I spend so much time with poorly planned manuals, difficult registration, and tedious setups. We need to notice when a company gets it right. Good job Lawn Boy.

I put aside a half hour to "get to know my mower", using the manual. I needed 5 minutes. Simple, basic, system. Seems like standard mowers have gotten a lot easier to use without much increase in price.

I couldn't buy this any cheaper at Lowe's, Menards, or Ace. So far, 1 mowing down and it worked very well. Impressive simplicity in starting.

Amazon delivered in 2 days and the assembly took less than 10 minutes. New Kohler engine is fantastic and starts on the first pull. Rear bag does not hold a lot of grass otherwise I would have given a 5 star review but my yard is small so it works fine for me. I have only had this mower for a couple of weeks but it has met and exceeded my expectations.

The oil container was punctured during shipping and emptied about 1/2 qt all over the mower and box. The hight adjustment levers for the rear wheels were bent and their plastic end caps were cracked. I've used the mower 6 times so far, and it mulches the grass. Tall or thick wet grass requires a second pass or slower walking speed. The rear discharge opening is tiny, but the bag thing works pretty well. The mower does start with one pull. There is no manual throttle control. Handle height is not adjustable, and is a little high for me -- I'm 6ft tall. Build and finish quality appear very good. Online warranty registration and ordering the side discharge chute are straightforward. For a sale price of $230 and free ship, this is a good deal for trimming and for small lawns.

The Mower is everything they state it as being. It came just as stated, even free shipping. It was delivered and in very nice condition through the shipment process. The box was opened and the mower removed and was packaged well. It was a quick pull the handle up and hand skrew knobs to adjust the handle to own level. The oil came with it. I placed it in the oil tank. Filled the gas tank with gas and pulled the start and one pull was mowing. Automatic choke and automatic primer. It ran beautiful. I stopped and emptied the grass from bag. It then started in one pull again. The bag is a nice size and easy to handle. It is easy to put back on the mower with no fuss. It is a very affordable price and has a no fuss guarantee. The engine is a Kohler engine and has been made for about 90 years and is also guaranteed. It is reasonably quiet and easy to handle. It mows easily around gardens and obstacles. I knew a man who mowed for golf courses and he knew lawns and lawn mowers and he always recommended Lawn Boys. - Self-propelled - Husqvarna Push Mower - Cordless Electric Lawn Mower - Gas Powered Mower'

Digital Camera Bag - camera case, digital camera bag

I'm very satisfied with this bag. I purchased it with the Nikon Coolpix L100, and it fits perfectly. There is room for extra batteries, an additional SD card (not that I need it, but it's there) along with room for the USB cable needed to attach it to the computer for downloading the pics.

The bag has an adjustable shoulder strap and carry strap. It seems to be constructed well, although I haven't put it through any overly rigorous activity. I was enthused when the camera slid nicely into the bag, and the velcro compartment seperator moves quickly to adjust for the size needed.

I would recommend this product. Zeikos ZE-CA38B Deluxe Soft Small Camera and Video Bag

The Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-35 fits well in this bag along with all the accessories and an additional battery. If it were an inch or so longer, all the accessories would fit on the floor without any stacking. Be forewarned that the bag has an annoying chemical smell which pretty much dissipated after I aired it outside for several hours before using it. Other than that, it's a good value. Also, in case it helps anyone, the bag's external dimensions are 6-3/4" X 4" X 6-3/4".

I needed a case for my new Nikon P100 camera. This case fit my needs exactly. It is compact, but very well made. My camera fits in easily, but without slopping around. There is extra room for the charger and cable, and I can easily fit in a spare battery and SD card. Some people may need to carry lots of extras and would need a larger case, but for me, this case is perfect. It fits comfortably in my truck console, out of sight, and away from bumps and spills. A terrific case for the money!

I was hesitant to buy it at first thinking it would be cheaply made due to the cost. Boy was I wrong. It is a great camera bag for my Fujifilm 2700. It fits nicely and I still have room for extra batteries or even something else small like that. The pouches around it work great for business cards, or little papers or what not. Maybe even another memory card if needed. The contruction is great as it has held up at the dog shelter with dogs trying to get into it.

I bought this case not so that I could tote it along on some splendiferous Serengeti safari or tantalizing Tibetan trek. I bought it because I have perfected the art of losing things. Think you're the champ? Ha! I guarantee you that you don't hold a candle to me. I am, hands down, the world champion.

As such, I've learned when I get wonderful little electronics and gizmos to organize them in one space since what I typically lose are the accessories. E.g, I recently bought a new GPS and immediately bought a hard case big enough to fit everything...the GPS, car charger with the window mount & the USB cord. To not do so would 100% guarantee that the champ would not be able to find one of the critical components and would have to scrounge for something that fit or buy a new one. So....

I recently bought a wonderful little 6000s CoolPix. (Love it!) It came with a good manual (better than usual these days but small enough to fit in the case), usb cord, AC charger & AV cords. I'll likely add a car charger and I bought an extra memory card at the time of purchase. When I bought the camera, I also bought a small hard case for it that fits it snugly.

Black Hard Case for Nikon Coolpix Digital Cameras

I am able to get all of the above in this little case with plenty of room to spare (so I'll add the car charger with no problem). For me, it's a perfect little case where I can keep my CoolPix and all of its accessories (including the manual) in one place. Were I to travel with it, it would be an excellent little case for, again, keeping everything together. It's small & light enough to easily just throw it over a shoulder/around your neck without any burden or clunkiness. The adjustable strap also extends long enough to carry the bag in a more secure cross-body fashion. It's probably padded enough to protect its contents but I tend to be ultra-cautious about electronics -- I'm more comfortable with my camera being in its little hard case inside this bigger padded one. I also like the idea of being able to leave this case with the accessories behind and just kicking around on day trips with my little CoolPix in its small hard case that has its own neck/shoulder strap.

My one criticism is organizing inside the case -- there aren't any inside pockets (didn't think about this when I purchased it). The little hard case I bought to fit the camera snugly has a little inside pocket for a memory card, which is where I'll put an extra. I could put a card in the case reviewed here but without a little inside pocket for it it'd rattle around in there (the little velcro divider provided doesn't work for my purposes). I'd be concerned it would get lost if I put a card in one of the little exterior mesh pockets on this camera case. I'd have preferred one or two small interior pockets instead of or in addition to the exterior mesh ones. For me, though, the case is pretty perfect as it is and the pockets are a minor issue -- it's a good little case for a great price. - Camera Case - Camera Accessory Bags - Digital Camera Bag - A570'

Electric Sharpener - pencil sharpener, electric sharpener

After reading all of the mostly positive Amazon reviews for the Bostitch QuietSharp Glow Electric Pencil Sharpener, I couldn't help but make the dive and purchase it. It seemed like the king of all pencil sharpeners - fast, quiet, and sleek. What else could I ask for? And I got it at a decent price through Amazon. As a first-year teacher, I was excited to make this purchase for my first classroom.

Well, turns out I was completely wrong about this sharpener. When I plugged the unit in and sharpened my first pencil, some unexpected and extremely disappointing things happened. Skeptical? I would be, too, because this sharpener seems so awesome, and the positive reviews are abundant. Here's what I found...

First, I noticed that the unit, contrary to its title, isn't really all that quiet. I've heard plenty of electric sharpeners in various classrooms, and this one isn't really much quieter than any other sharpener I've used or seen. It's sad because its selling point, in my opinion, is the quietness with which it's supposed to sharpen, but that's not what happens. I expected something much quieter for its being advertised as a quiet sharpener.

Second, and also contrary to its title, the point on the pencil is not sharp after sharpening. I tried four pencils before I was too disgusted and had to stop, and each time I sharpened a pencil that thing happened where the wood comes up over the top of the lead; this is completely inexcusable for the price of this sharpener. A pencil sharpener is supposed to sharpen pencils the last time I checked, not make them dull. I was using top-quality pencils (Ticonderoga), so I can't even blame the brand or quality of pencils. And what makes things worse is that after the sharpener thinks it's sharpened your pencil fully, it shuts off automatically, and to sharpen it again you have to pull the pencil out, wait a couple of seconds, and put it back in, only for it to mess up yet again. It's a vicious and frustrating cycle. Sure, the blue illuminated ring looks pretty cool, but that's MAYBE this sharpener's only redeeming quality. I wish the sharpener wouldn't automatically shut off because sometimes you might want to fine-tune your point and leave it in a bit longer to make sure it's completely sharpened. With this sharpener, you have to remove the pencil and reinsert it. I could see this frustrating the students in my class, and it would only prolong the trips to the sharpener during class, thus frustrating ME in the end.

Third, while sharpening, the unit shook up and down in a sort of bouncing motion. I expected for its size, weight, and the fact that it has suction pads on the bottom that it would stay at least fairly still while sharpening. The shaking is not a huge deal, but it's just another annoyance to add to the list.

Fourth, it's hard to determine this from the pictures, bit this thing is HUGE. A pencil sharpener in a classroom should be somewhat compact, discreet, and out of the way, and you should be able to move it anywhere because the classroom could change at any point. I could see this device being in the way all the time and taking up way too much space. At first glance it looks like some kind of kitchen appliance.

The bottom line: the Bostitch QuietSharp Glow Electric Pencil Sharpener is certainly a good idea and a cool concept (who wouldn't want a quiet, fast pencil sharpener in the classroom?), but its poor functionality and poorly executed design leave me no choice but to give it 1 of 5 stars. I can't even think of any redeeming qualities for this sharpener. It is not very quiet, it does not leave a sharp point, and it's way too big for most classrooms. If anything a pencil sharpener should leave nice, fine points on pencils and then I could tolerate other minor flaws, but this product does not even sharpen pencils adequately, especially for the high cost. For less than half the cost of this pencil sharpener you could find something much more convenient and efficient for your classroom. Don't make the same mistake I did by being drawn in by Bostitch's deceptive advertising strategies. Simply stay away! Abundant Female Nudity - comedy, jake gyllenhaal

I was very surprised to find this movie to my liking. I went (rather grudgingly I'll admit) to see this movie and I was blown away, it wasn't just a comedy, it wasn't just a romance, it was a deep, intricate experience that mirrors (to the best of hollywood's ability) the real relational component that we never really know what will come next with any of our relationships. This movie throws you for several unexpected twists and turns but this is one not to miss! Do be warned it's rated R for a reason, you see just about everything Hathaway and Gyllenhaal have to offer. This movie also packs some pretty good comic value. Ultimately its a heartwarming story about a man who had never found a desire to approach anything with all of his heart and/or ability until he meets Maggie, then everything changes. This will definitely be added to my personal collection just as soon as it comes on DVD. Love & Other Drugs

I loved this movie. It had me laughing, and crying, and it was sexy, and poignant, and very, very well acted. Jake and Anne are wonderful together. Very believeable. I could have done with a little less of the "brother" character, played by Josh Gad, and I wish Jake had more scenes with Hank Azaria and Oliver Platt, but I really did love it. When it ended, I just wanted to go right back to the beginning again!

LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is based on Jamie Reidy's highly regarded novel 'Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesmen' and as adapted for the screen by Charles Randolph, Marshall Herskowitz and Edward Zwick (who also directs). It is a little jewel of a film. If the portion of the film that deals far too long with a silly Radio City Music Hall show of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals training program bores the audience (it should have been severely edited for many reasons), it is worth the wait for the actual romance story that follows.

Jamie Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) can't hold a job, preferring to focus on womanizing, much to the disdain of his wealthy obese brother Josh (Josh Gad), and his parents (George Segal and Jill Clayburgh in a role that was to be her last). Jamie best friend Bruce (Oliver Platt) joins Jamie in becoming a pharmaceutical rep for Pfizer and the two are placed on the road to push Zoloft and Zithromax, finding that the market is hoarded by Trey Hannigan (Gabriel Macht), an Eli Lily salesman selling Prozac. Jamie encounters Trey in the office of Dr. Knight (Hank Azaria), studies Trey's success and his own failure, and in the process encounters a patient of Dr. Knight, the free spirited gorgeous Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway) who has been with both Trey and Dr. Knight. Jamie's lack of success pushing Zoloft suddenly reverses when Pfizer comes out with Viagra: Jamie is a natural to be the leading salesman for this new enhancing drug - or is he? There is a strange chemistry that develops between Jamie and Maggie and despite their unlikely qualifications as relationship candidates, each finds in the other the qualities that turn wild one nighters into a solid love affair. Maggie has Parkinsonism and that aspect alters the way each approach the relationship. But it is the magic of how this blossoms into one the screen's best romances that is the gift of the film.

The story is frequently disrupted with sidebars that are supposed to provide comic relief but in the end simply take up too much space away from Jamie and Maggie. Had the film been edited to clean its shelves the way Jamie cleaned the physicians' sample shelves of Prozac the total product would have been even better. What the film brings into focus is the enormously maturing talents of Gyllenhaal and Hathaway: they may just be the next great Hollywood silver screen couple. This is 'a fine (and sensitive) romance' and well worth watching. Grady Harp, March 11

A prescription drug salesman falls in love with a woman who is not as together as she seems. After meeting Maggie (Hathaway) in a doctor's office, Jamie (Gyllenhaal) tracks her down and the relationship begins. This is not at all what I expected, it was so much better. Going in all I heard about it from the interviews was...Anne Hathaway is naked alot, there is rampent nudity and sex. This movie is much, much more then that. This is a movie about two, for lack of a better work, selfish people who start a relationship based solely on sex. They begin to develop real feelings for each other, and thats when they start to have problems. Much like "Get Low" this is another movie that got passed over at the "Oscars". I'm not talking best picture, but Anne Hathaway was fantastic in this and to not get nominated is a huge oversight. Gyllenhaal and Hathaway have great chemistry and it really helps you get more involved with the characters. This was a great film, full of laughs, tears and it makes you think. I highly recommend this movie and I guarantee you will not be dissapointed. I give it an A.

Would I watch again? - Absolutly

Jake Gyllenhal's and Anne Hathaway's performances and charisma made this a great watch for me. They are both compelling and beautiful to watch. I liked the story too, it was different from your standard Rom-Com fare, with Hathaway's character struggling with Parkinson's disease, and Gyllenhal's good-time boy having to grow-up to deal with it. The drug company sub-plot got a little heavy-handed, as did some of the psycho-babble speeches ("tell me 4 good things about yourself" she says to him at one point - a little too self-help-workshoppy to feel real.) But still a good movie, and certainly a step above your average romantic comedy.

The main problem with "Love and Other Drugs" is that, throughout the duration of the film, it seems to be suffering from a constant identity crisis. The film can't seem to decide if it wants to be:

a) a conventional romantic comedy

b) a Judd Apatow-style comedy about an overgrown man-child who finally grows up

c) a serious drama about falling in love with someone with a degenerative illness or

d) a satire of the health care industry

What salvages the film are its two leads. Anna Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal first appeared together in "Brokeback Mountain" playing two people stuck in a passionless marriage of convenience. In "Love and Other Drugs," the two play a couple madly in lust, and, despite their better judgment, love with one another. Both Hathaway and Gyllenhaal are talented, charismatic, and very sexy actors and each give their characters the depth the film desperately needs (especially since all of the supporting characters are hopelessly two dimensional.) Gyllenhaal plays Jamie as a lothario whose superficial charm masks a deep-seated emptiness. Hathaway's Maggie is full of sexual bravado and sharp-tongued wit, but scratch the surface and her character's anger and bitterness about her young-onset Parkinson's comes raging to the surface.

The film is worth a watch just for the great performances and chemistry of its leads. But much of the film comes across as trite, especially since it deals with such heavy subject matter, and the ending is just an embarrassing Rom-Com cliché. - Love - Comedy - Jake Gyllenhaal - Romance Comedy'
