Point And Shoot - powershot, hd video

I'm a DSLR photographer who shoots professionally and has managed a camera store in the past. I wanted something I can take with me everywhere but still produces good quality shots. I also wanted a camera that could shoot good looking videos. I researched several models and after much deliberation decided on the Canon 300 HS. I'm very happy I did.

Image Quality:

I tested cameras and lenses all the time while managing the camera store so whenever I purchase a new camera or lens I always test it. The Canon 300 HS doesn't produce the quality of images my Nikon D7000 does but I didn't expect it to. The edges get a little soft with the 300 HS when looking at the image at 100% whereas the D7000 images are almost tact sharp.

Comparing the 300 HS to the Canon Powershot SD1000 from a few years ago, the 300 HS blows it out of the water. The SD1000 is a 7 MP camera. Shooting the same shots on a tripod with the same focal length on the lens the 300 HS uses its extra MPs well. When looking at the images from each camera at 100%, at the wide angle zoom setting and normal zoom setting both cameras have about the same relative slight softness on the edges. However the 300 HS has more MP so it actually produces much more detail in the image. I think it was smart for Canon to keep the MP at 12 because last years models while being 14 MP (SD1400) didn't give any extra detail from what I could tell than the 12 MP version (SD1300). The SD1400 was basically just creating larger files. When zooming in the telephoto setting the 300 HS clearly produced a sharper image than the SD1000. Often cameras have sweet spots in the zoom range in which it will produce crisper images. The 300 HS has consistently good sharpness throughout it's zoom range.

HS system and ISO:

The image processing with the HS system truly works to reduce noise at higher ISOs enabling people to produce better quality images in low light. The improvement in image quality gets more and more visible the greater and greater the ISO. ISO 400 with the 300 HS was almost as good as ISO 200 on the SD1000. ISO 800 on the 300 HS was a tad better than ISO 400 on the SD1000. ISO 1600 on the 300 HS was between ISO 400 and 800 on the SD1000. ISO 3200 on the 300 HS produced the same quality of image (noise) as ISO 800 on the SD1000. A 2 stop in film speed improvement is big.

1080p video and slow motion:

With good light, the 300 HS produces wonderful smooth 1080 videos. If you look at a lot of HD videos from compact cameras the video often looks jumpy. From what I've seen it wasn't until you got to the Canon G12 or Panasonic LX5 that the video looked smooth. Both of those cameras only shoot 720p whereas this camera shoots 1080p. The video also very good detail. It truly looks HD.

If you are wanting zoom and continuous AF with your video this camera is the one you want compared to the 100 HS which doesn't allow you to zoom. The continuous AF with face recognition is stellar with this camera in video mode. I was videoing my wife while she was driving. It focused on her face. I switched to the scenery outside. It immediately focused on that. I then went back to my wife and it found her face and focused on it right away. I even videoed her reflection in the rear view mirror and it found her face in the mirror no problem and focused on it. AMAZING!!!!

Commenting on a complaint I've read about the zoom being slow in video mode. If you like getting motion sickness whenever someone rapidly zooms in or out during their video this is not your camera. As smooth looking as the video is, the zoom is also. The smooth zoom creates nice looking transitions instead of warp speed ahead looks.

The slow motion is a fun feature that works well. You need to have good lighting though. In low light even with high ISO's it produced very dark videos. In a review someone commented that it should have sound with the slow motion video. I honestly don't know how that could work unless you want to listen to everything at 1/5 it's normal speed. I think it's a good thing that it doesn't have sound with the slow motion videos.

AF:

I commented on AF partially in the video portion of the review. It does have several AF modes for various situations. The face detection works great. If you have a person in the picture but want something other than the person to be in focus you will need to change AF modes from face detection. The reviewer that had the problem with the 300 HS focusing on things he didn't want the camera to focus on likely didn't have the correct AF mode for the shooting situations. The 300 HS does have a center AF if you prefer that.

Areas for Canon to improve on with the 300 HS:

The camera is so well thought out that I'm surprised Canon let this slip. I love having a wide angle zoom go down to 24mm. It's great for scenery and photojournalist type shots. If you shoot at the widest angle zoom and use the flash, the lens on the 300 HS blocks the flash's exposure on the bottom right corner of the image. The corner is completely black. If you zoom in a bit so you aren't at the widest angle setting when using the flash you will be fine. Still all Canon had to do is not put the flash so close to the lens.

When shooting video in lower light situations the video does start to get noisy and grainy quicker than some other cameras.

Conclusion:

All in all this is a wonderfully thought out camera with great image quality and image processing and it shoots stellar videos for it's compact size. Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS 12.1 MP Digital Camera (Black)

This is a point and shoot class camera, if you understand that going in, you are going to be more than impressed with it. I'm going from an SD630 and hands down, this beats it. I even had an SX210IS and these images are on par with it, if not better. I had to return my SX210IS as it had issues with dust on the image sensor and I've been waiting for a new P&S class to come out. I bit the bullet on this, well, the black version Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS 12 MP CMOS Digital Camera with Full 1080p HD Video (Black) and what can I say - I am happy!

300HS vs 500HS:

There is a 500HS version of the camera, which is approx $50 more. To this point, the only differences I can tell are the LCD on the back as well as aperture priority and shutter priority, while the 300hs does not. The touch screen on the 500hs can also be used to focus on a particular subject. The 500hs also has a wider aperture at 2.0, the 300hs has 2.7.

Form Factor/Display:

Small. Awesome. There is a texture on the camera, I really like this as it seems like it will help if you hands are wet (sweat, snow, etc). Easy to operate one hand and if using both hands, flash isn't in a horrible place. Display is very bright and button seem intuitive as with other Canon cameras. Battery and SD are on the bottom door, USB and HDMI are in a covered side port. Comes with a wrist strap if you desire a little extra security.

Boot Time/Software:

Camera is ready to take photos very fast. From the time you press the button, it's pretty much set to catch the action. Time between photos wasn't terrible (about 1.5 seconds) and if you need it, there is continuous shot mode. Had no problem with the Canon software on Windows 7. I've used the Canon Photo Window import for a while, does a good job of getting photos off the camera without duplicates. I use Picasa to then manage my photo library (I skip the Zoom Browser, but it's really not bad if you want to use it, I'm just a slave to Google/gmail)

Computer Connectivity:

I didn't find this anywhere in the specs, so if you're looking, the camera uses mini-USB, similar to all Canon's that have come out over the last few years.

Optical Zoom:

You're going to be impressed with the form factor of this camera and it's 5x OPTICAL zoom. I immediately disabled digital zoom as 12.1MP + 5x Optical will get you very close to the action. You're better off digitally enhancing the photos later on.

Battery + Memory Card:

This uses the NBL-4 (again, I found confusion on this and accessories) - so if you have some of those laying around keep them as they'll work just fine in this camera. This is nice as my SD630 uses the NBL-4 so now I have 2 chargers + 3 batteries. It took my 32GB SDHC without any issues and holds thousands of images. Images have tended to be between 2 and 3mb on the highest settings.

Image Quality:

Look, I'm no photo fanatic, I don't expect the people buying this camera are. I am looking for solid images and this camera delivers. There are a ton a feature you can delve into and I'm sure they are good. It has manual mode, so if you fancy that, you can go down that path. But I'm the type of person that knows when something looks good, OK or great. This camera consistently delivers GREAT photos. I'm happy with the low light and images aren't blurry or grainy (within reasonable expectations).

Video:

FINALLY! Optical zoom on a Canon during video! 1080p brings this camera up to par with others in its class and it does a decent job. I didn't notice any major noise when zooming in and out while recording video. I know this is the excuse Canon has used in the past as to why they never had this feature. It shoots nice clips for those quick moments. This will NOT replace a true DV cam, but hey, for a few minute clips here and there, you will simply not be dissapointed. - Point And Shoot - Hd Video - Elph - Powershot'

Android Tablet - motorola, android tablet

This is the type of product that comes close to being good on so many levels - but never quite gets there. Full of good idea's that were never quite implemented properly.

The Xoom does fit securely in the case, I never get the impression my Xoom is about to fall out for fit and security it's perfect.

Overall the case is good, the majority of the outer cover is a semi hard vinyl/plastic like material - much like you would find on luggage but firmer, perhaps due to some adhesive used to give it strength. This is fine by me as this material will gives it a bit of shock resistance should something heavy fall on it. It has a textured surface which helps prevent it from slipping from your grip.

The edges of the case are hard plastic and do a fair job of protecting the corners from impacts. This protection was obviously not the intent - as the hard plastic is primarily designed to hold the tablet in place, otherwise the corner plastic would have been made just a bit larger to protect the bottom corners completely.

The inside of the case where the back of the tablet sits is similar to the outer shell, but not textured and a bit more fabric like feel. The inside that covers the screen when closed is made of a hardened foam that helps protect the screen. There are built in troughs that the bottom of the tablet can sit in when open to give it a nice viewing angle when watching video, running a slide show etc...

The largest design flaw is the fact that although there are cutouts for the speakers, power button, camera, headphones, SD slot - they have neglected to make cutouts where they are needed the most! There is no opening for the charger, USB, or HDMI - so anytime you want to charge the unit, connect it to your computer, or use the HDMI output you must have the case open - serious flaw. Who wants to leave their case sitting open when it is charging.

All in all it's okay, and I would recommend it overall, but know that it is a tiny bit frustrating to have such potential and then fail because of simple flaws. Motorola Protective Portfolio Case for MOTOROLA XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging)

I am not sure why everyone is so down on this case. I purchased it locally because of all the negative reviews so I could return it quickly if the negativity was justified - it isn't.

First off, all the complaints about scratches are bogus. The case does not scratch the device in anyway. It's plastic on metal... which do you think's gonna win?

Quite honestly, other than it's slightly bulbus profile, the only "negative" thing I could find on it was that it doesn't have a very good typing angle setting. There's tilted, more tilted, and flat with a slight incline.

Excellent feel. Excellent protection. This thing could be dropped from quite a ways and survive with this case on.

Overall, it does exactly what it says. This isn't an apple product that fits inside, no crazy scratches here ;-)

Honestly? $40 for this?

I just received my case this morning, and within minutes I was quickly shocked of the poor quality of this case.

1. It is constructed with cheap vinyl materials and plastic. The plastic is already separating from the vinyl right out of the factory sealed paackaging.

2. The case does not fit the Xoom tablet well. Perhaps there was a manufacturing defect as the plastics are separating. Seems that I would really have to torque down on the case to get it to fit the tablet well.

3. The case appears that it is supposed to snap shut. However, it DOES NOT. Again, this may be due to the situations I mentioned in gripes 1 and 2.

4. You do not have access to the charging port while the unit is in the case. I considered making a small hole in the case so I could plug my unit in. But, why should I have to do this to a $40 case? And considering my total disappointment with this case, I will end up returning it anyway.

5. If you use this case regularly to make the tablet stand vertically, prepare to have the case scratch your $600 + investment.

This case, as far as I am concerned, is very much an overpriced piece of GARBAGE!

I will be returning and purchasing a zippered case and a small travel stand to use with my device. Amazon has those and the total price tag is far less than $40. Shop around for better options and see what you can come up with. This case is severely flawed.

Where to begin?

There is nothing good about this case

It's made of cheap material

YOU CANNOT CHARGE OR HAVE A USB CORD ATTACHED WHILE THE CASE IS CLOSED

YOU CANNOT CHARGE OR HAVE A USB CORD ATTACHED WHILE THE CASE IS OPENED TO HAVE THE XOOM ON THE 'KICK STAND'

THE BACK DOESN'T FLIP BACK AND LOCK, SO IF YOUR HOLDING THIS AND WALKING AROUND YOU EITHER HAVE TO HOLD THE BACK AGAINST IT, OR LET THE FLAP DANGLE

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING THIS BAD! - Android - Xoom - Motorola - Android Tablet'

Compact Photo Printer

There's not a lot to say. Open the package, insert it "ink" cartridge (dye sublimation process, not liquid ink)....plug in your camera, select print and in 1 minute, you have a gorgeous, permanent print. It's ready for handling immediately. Sharp, clear, well saturated images. Borderless and inexpensive.

My wife is NOT technology oriented. She wanted a printer that she could simply plug her camera into and then print the photos she wished. I got this, and it worked perfectly for her. She made close to 100 prints, everyone perfect, everyone easy. She loves it.

The cost per print is reasonable, depending on what capacity packs you buy (36 or 108) it's as low as 30 CENTS per print.

THe 36 print ink/paper packs include 2 packs of 18 postacard sized papers and one ink pack that will print out 36 prints. The 108i print in/paper pack is simple 3 of the above for only twice the cost.

This is simplicity, very easy to use and and excellent product.

I'd buy another were the occasion to come up. Canon SELPHY CP800 Black Compact Photo Printer (4350B001)

I needed a little printer to take to an event to make quick but professional 4x6 prints - I am a professional photographer and my product needs to look great. Several years ago I tried an Epson printer - similar but larger and more expensive. It did a great job but was larger and more expensive. I eventually sold it since I rarely offer this service and just was not using it. I needed one again this year it turned out and so tried the Selphy this time (the reviews were better than several years ago) and was very pleased. Easy to set up, the prints looked great and all worked well. Because of the size, cost and ease of use I will keep this one. Great little printer and it printed well either from my memory card or from the computer. Good value if you enjoy doing this at home rather than go to a lab.

I was a little leary about purchasing this product - until I received it, and I knew I made the correct choice. The first reason I picked this printer is, I'm a Canon loyalist when it came to my photography equipment. So, I took a chance with the printer. I knew I wanted a dye sublimation printer, and the larger print printers were far more expensive. So, before investing several thousand, I wanted to try a smaller printer and test out the quality difference.

And different it is! Dye sublimation just ROCKED my world. I've had bubble jet, ink jet, laser jet, dot matrix... you name it. Granted, there are some fantastic ink jet and laser jet printers out there that produce great prints, the biggest seller for me was simple. It was the print quality and process. Say you take a gorgeous image with lots of vibrant colors, and print it on a jet printer. When it comes out, you have to let it sit there for a few minutes, cause you can literally see the ink sitting ON the paper. And as that ink soaks in, the color changes - dramatically. Sometimes better; sometimes worse. And good golly, you had better not put your finger on that ink prior to it soaking in and drying!

With the dye sublimation, what you see is what you get! The colors are vibrant, rich, and pure tones in the hues. There's no drying time needed. You can grab it straight from the printer, and instantly into a frame without worrying if it will damage the image. It really is an amazing process, and it's a great product. It's completely idiot proof.

The second reason I bought this printer is, you can purchase the supplies anywhere. Granted, they're more expensive in the local retailer than online, but if you're in a pinch - and least the pinch won't hurt too bad.

The third reason I chose this printer, it takes multiple mediums. In other words, you can use pretty much any memory stick or card - there's probably a slot for it. AND it also allows for tether. What's tether, you ask? If you have a digital camera that can link to a computer via USB, then it can link to the printer. Print straight from the camera. Or you can use the program that came with it, and print from the computer. The tether feature was a great bonus for me.

Lastly, I bought the product on Amazon because I searched, and searched, and searched... this is hands down, the best price!! You may be able to find it on Craigslist for a couple bucks less... but why save $5 on a used product, when you can spend that $5 and get it new? But, hey... that's just one person's opinion.

I hope you all enjoy the printer has much as I have! I printed all my Christmas cards on it, no fuss, no mess, no fighting off people in a portrait studio. AND it was out in people's mail boxes in a timely manner!! You can't beat that with a stick!

I pretty much agree with the other positive reviews but I wanted to point out one problem.

I prefer to work from my PC. The printing software provided would not work on my newish Windows 7 64-bit computer.

Canon customer service (which is otherwise top notch) was not able

to find a solution and did not seem too interested in coming up with one.

It did operate properly on my XP equipped laptop. The software provided was pretty rudimentary but workable.

Luckily, I already have Corel Media One on my Windows 7 Computer and it accepted the CP800 seamlessly and worked

perfectly without any additional setup. For the person who wanted to make smaller prints, Media One allows you to

put 1, 2, 4, or 8 different pictures on each 4x6 sheet which you can then cut up. I also understand that the free

Windows Gallery software available at Windows Downloads works well. I would only use the Canon Selphy print software

If I didn't have anything else. It's just not very good. It wouldn't stop me from buying the machine because I think

it's great but just wanted to warn the 64 bit owners.

One other warning: I purchased a 10 ft USB printer cable from Amazon at the same time I purchased the printer to take

advantage of the free shipping. Once the unit arrived and I read the manual, it turns out they don't recommend using a

printer cable longer than 8 ft. OOPS! so much for saving a few dollars. Buy the 6 ft not the 10 ft cable!'

Dual Auto Dvd Venturer - dual auto dvd venturer, 7 inch dvd

Overall, I'd say this product is a best-buy for the money. We didn't want to spend too much on a system since our kids are 2 and 4, and we knew that whatever we bought would take a lot of abuse and might not be long for this world. We found the Sylvania dual-dvd at a national department store for about half the price of every other dual-dvd system we researched.

The good: Above all else, it's extremely inexpensive compared to other units! The system has, as expected, taken a lot of abuse in just two months: our 2-year-old constantly kicks the screen, with and without shoes; has pulled it out and thrown it on the floor during fits of anger at least five times; and has used various cords as tightropes for walking or swinging. Despite all the misuse, both screens still work perfectly. Also, for very little additional money, we were able to purchase a 2-year extended warranty on the product (for all the above reasons, I consider this the best money we've ever spent!). I've seen a lot of comments about degraded picture and/or sound quality in slave units of dual-dvd players; we haven't found this to be the case at all with these screens. While I haven't pulled them out and placed them side-by-side, we haven't noticed any difference between the quality of the two screens.

The bad: There is absolutely NO battery in the unit, so if you have to turn your motor off for any reason (like getting gas), the movie will completely reboot when you restart your engine. This is my biggest complaint with the system, and frankly, it's an inconvenience, but one I'm willing to live with given the savings we realized over the other systems out there. The straps that are used to attach the screens to the headrests aren't especially pretty, but they work; if you're really concerned about cosmetics, this may not be the system for you. Also, dvds are very difficult to remove and insert while the screen is attached to the headrest; it isn't impossible, but you do have to be persistent.

Overall, I think the Sylvania system is a fantastic deal. The biggest plus is that both our boys were largely happy and content on a 10-hour car trip. In my opinion, you can't really put a price on that. Sylvania SDVD8727 7 Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player

Pros: The two screens are large enough for my kids to see from the seat. The speakers are plenty loud and there is a speaker in both units so they do not have to share sound. So far the unit seems to run well and we have had no problems with it. The screen quality is good and the price--at least through Amazon--was as well. My four year old can use all of the controls on her own which is huge when I am driving alone.

Cons: The system for mounting this to the back of the seat is aweful. In order to change DVDs you have to slide the primary unit out of the holder because it is a top loader. The mounting system can also cause funny angles making the screens hard to see. There is no way my four year old can change DVDs by herself. Also the cord connecting the two screens is very short as is the cord to plug it into the adapter in the car.

The first unit we bought had the second panel not work right out of the box. We exchanged it for another unit. This one, there's a short in the cable connecting the two units, so it keeps shutting off. The second screen has a lot of strange light and corruption in the picture. We returned it and asked for our money back. We would not recommend this product to anyone.

We just returned from a trip with 2 days of traveling each way. We purchased 2 Sylvania units for our kids to use in our Suburban. The cord from the lighter to the first unit is really really short (4 feet?) and barely made it from the lighter to the first row of seats (maybe there are backseat outlets in newer model cars and this is a nonissue for some...?). This was easily fixed by purchasing an extension cord from Radio Shack for $10. So, an unexpectedly short cord, but an easy fix. The cord b/w the 2 units seems reasonable as long as you are keeping both units on the same row of seats(the cord is not long enough to put a unit in the 2nd row and then a unit in the 3rd row in my opinion, but the COBY dual unitl we purchased previously is long enough to do that). The unit can be slid in and out of the holding straps to change DVDs without unplugging the unit's cords (unlike the Coby system we had where you had to unplug 2 of the 3 cords to change the DVD - what a pain!!). All in all, I think the Sylvania units are good with the minor inexpensive Radio Shack modification.

Like others i also had mixed reviews about the product, but so far mine has work great. Besides the straps it good to go. I do not like the straps because you have to undo them to put in another dvd. The product says that it dvd players shuts off when the car is off, but mine stays on, and i have two sets of them, that a hug plus. I guess you got good batches and bad batches. - Dual Screen Dvd Player - 7 Inch Dvd - Dual Dvd Player - Dual Auto Dvd Venturer'

I purchased this about a month ago and have been very pleased and has exceeded my expectations. Normally I am a Sony person yet I purchased Toshiba occasionally. Easy set-up, amazing picture, excellent volume and easy to switch between video feeds.

Great value for the price.

Kiley Toshiba 55G310U 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV, Black

i bought the tv a month ago and so far it has been a better tv than the sony or samsung i looked at before i bought the toshiba

pros.

its easy to use.

has enough inputs for my needs.

sound is loud and clear.

theres the optical output for my surround sound.

picture is great thanks to cinespeed and clearframe technology esp when watching movies. dont need 3d bec feels like your actually watching it while they are taping it.

gaming mode.

regazalink works for the ps3

native mode is awesome

price

cons:

no internet but not a big deal coz i have ps3

it freezes at the beginning but hasnt happened lately..

regazalink doesnt work for xbox 360. it could be an xbox issue.

a little faded if youre on the side but not noticeable unless your looking for it

We bought this TV from tigerdirect here on Amazon after some research.Great picture and we were happy with it until the unit crapped out on us after owning it for 6weeks.The lcd panel went bad according to Toshiba tech rep in India (good luck if you have to call them!!). Called Tiger Direct and they would do nothing for us.They WOULD sell us another TV and give us free shipping!!! You can guess what i told them to do!! Next I tried toshiba customer service and they wont replace the TV unless it is deemed"unrepairable". I actually got to talk to somebody in the states and they were no help.Next, I tried to get the thing repaired by the local Toshiba service rep and it seems that the part is currently unavailable and he wont know how long it will take to get or even if he can get it. So I will never buy a Toshiba product again and Tiger direct will never see me again. These ----- companies will take your $$$ in a NY minute but there customer service is Non existant!!! Do yourself a favor and spend a couple extra bucks and buy from your nearest Mom and POP store!!! At least you can keep the $$$ in your community and have a face to talk to when things go wrong!!! signed,MadasHell

I recently purchased this TV and i have to say i normally favor Plasmas because i enjoy the vibrance of color that usually comes with them. But this tv definitely made me reconsider my idea of LCDS! my last LCD was definitely not capable of such an excellent picture! and the sound for this TV is superior to many other models. for the price this is an EXCELLENT buy!

With the Amazon card, I payed $800 for this TV. EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! That's way too little. The TV is massive, the picture is beautiful, the back lighting is even, no complaints. I'm a bit of a TV snob and I have to say I couldn't be happier. Even at full price ($880), you're getting ripped off if you don't buy it. So quit reading this wonderfully written review and go buy it. Then we can be TV brothers. Or brother-sister, if you're a girl. And if you're a girl, who cares about TV size and quality, I suggest you drop me a line. We can romantically compare aspect ratios and stuff.

I bought this TV from Costco and was initially pleased with the product. Had it less than a week when the screen suddenly turned green. The images looked like green ghost. It started during a commercial break and lasted until the next commercial break. Then it appeared to return to a normal picture but upon closer inspection that proved not to be the case.

Green dots infected the picture permanently after that. It gave the appearance that the images were bleeding green blood on their faces. Fortunately we bought it from Costco. They took it back and we replaced it with another brand. - Led - Hdtv - 120hz - 240hz'

My son hates math! But, he loves Star Wars and Jabba Math. Would recommend it for other kids who find math boring and feel insecure in their skills. It allows for several ways to solve the problems and appeals to the visual learner. Star Wars Math: Jabba's Game Galaxy

My seven year old has had a lot of fun with this game while learning math at the same time! Bought it for him when he was in kindergarten and he still loves to play it. No problems with the noise of this game - no noisier than any other PC game.

My son who hates doing math loves to play this game. I like the fact that you can also have two players so I can play against him to see his progress.

You can adjust the voice and music volumes separately and it plays on my Windows XP which I know some have had an issue with.

Came across this accidentally and took it home to play--thought it might be a good gift for a seven year old I know. Games are fun, so far as I could stand the decibel level. For me to hear the voices, the music was so loud that the total sound hurt my ears. If the relative loudness of the music and voices were reversed, this would be a better product. - Education - Math Computer Game - Math Game - Games'

Wireless Light Switch - as seen on tv, wireless switch

Bought three of these with 5 other items from Amazon sellers. This was the last to show up of all 5, and by far the worst. The package states the range to be 33 feet but after trying all three...they all only work within approx 3 feet. It will work about 1 out of every 10 tries from 5 feet.

They come without batteries, and require a 2032 watch battery (which costs between 5-7 dollars each)

Contrary to the image here..this is NOT a switch. It is a button...(no little switch to flick like a regular light switch)

The product is made of cheap, soft, bendable plastic (The kind that you could rip into two pieces if you worked hard enough).

I've never wrote a review before..but felt compelled here..as this is absolutely the worst product I've EVER purchased and feel incredibly scammed. Handy Trends Perfect Switch (White)

Product performs as stated, but need a "direct line of view" from switch to socket insert. Since socket was behind sofa, I had to rearrange furnature in order for switch to work. Also, did not like "switch". I have a similar product ("Handy Switch") that I like better because it works exactly like a wall switch from anywhere in the room. Would not recommend this product; spend a few dollars more on actual "Handy Switch".

This product does not work. It worked one or two times if held inches from the receiver. I would also like to point out that this is not the product that was advertised on TV. It is not to be confused with the Handy Switch. It is a very crude knock off. I bought two of them and they both failed to work and contained no adhesive to secure it to the wall despite the package saying "just peel and press" Do not buy.

Great idea, but a complete waste of $10. I purchased as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend because we have no light switch in our walk-in closet. Took it out of the package (all exited), plugged it in and flipped the switch. It worked once or twice when holding it directly in front of the receiver(2 inches away), but decided that it had had enough and stopped working. I would return it, but it isn't worth spending another dime for the shipping. So disappointing...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't give this any rating at all. Its total garbage. what good is a light switch that only works when it feels like it and has to be within 3ft of the socket AND in the line of site of the thing. SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy an actual handy switch..i thought this was going to be the same thing but its garbage

Got one of these off a popular auction site.. What a piece of junk! while the transmitter did work for me with the included batteries... the unit could not stay on for more than 2 seconds....didnt matter how much i tried to switch it back on... 2 seconds and it shut off... needless to say I will be returning the product! AND not buying another. Also note this product does not carry any UL listings etc anywhere I could find...

I got one when they first came out, worked with issues for me, lost the switch part during a move and really wanted another one. But came across this recall notice when searching outside of Amazon for this product. Many other like products exist on Amazon, sadly I liked the nightlight and removable portable 'wall' switch.
