3m Privacy Screen Filter - screen filters, notebook privacy screen

I've owned this product for about a month now and purchased it because I was frustrated with seatmates on airplanes looking at my notebook screen for the whole flight, trying to figure out what I was doing. This screen works wonders in deterring others from taking glances at my private information. In fact, most people think I'm crazy, typing away on a computer with a blank screen, or so they think.

There are some disadvantages with this screen though. Your seatmate directly next to you will be able to see through the filter to your screen partially, because they are within the viewing angle of the screen with the filter on. But move over any farther and the screen is not visible, nor is it visible across the aisle (if sitting in an aisle seat). About the only other place that it is visible is if someone is standing directly above you, one row back. Turning down the brightness of your screen also helps immensely in blocking people from viewing your screen through the filter at any angle.

(Please note, having this filter installed screens out about half of the light coming out of the screen. If you have poor eyesight with dim lighting and have trouble with computer screens, this product may not be for you.)

Additionally, the clear plastic tabs included with the filter adheres to the plastic border around the notebook LCD screen to keep the filter in place. It works, but blocks about a 1/8" of the screen at 6 points, especially noticeable around the bottom of the screen where the start bar is located.

You'll also notice a large "3M PF14.1W" printed in the top right hand corner of the filter. It's used to help in determining whether the filter is facing the right direction, but it's quite distracting at times. The height of the lettering is equivalent in size to the window bar at the top of any program.

This filter is also very dust, lint, debris, and smudge attracting. You'll find yourself wiping the filter often.

Overall, this filter does its job. Great for those who need to comply with HIPPA or other privacy regulations. But as an individual consumer, I wonder if the high price is justified for the benefits it provides. 3M Privacy Filter- 3M PF15.4W Widescreen Notebook privacy screen

I'm a consultant who travels weekly. Lots of time on flights makes a privacy filter important to me. Being something of a perfectionist and the fact that I look through it for hours each week, I ordered both the ViewGuard and the 3M filters to compare them. I kept the 3M and returned the ViewGuard. Why?

The image clarity of the 3M filter was significantly better (note that I work with small fonts, spreadsheets, etc. and wear glasses) Yes, ViewGuard, I removed the protective film before making the comparison! Two things bugged me about the ViewGuard: (1) its polarization cuts run diagonally (the 3M run vertically), which is distracting, and (2) the image through the ViewGuard is a tiny bit blurry/hazy compared to the 3M. 3M seems to have a more clear film that they use. A colleague of mine did the same side-by-side and agreed with me.

Both products do what they claim, and both fit my notebook well, although I also prefer the optional vertical mounting strips that come with the 3M product (both come with mounting 'dots', but 3M supplies an alternate mounting mechanism as well).

Let's face it: $50 for a piece of plastic seems expensive, but there's no alternative if you want to work on client (or your own financial) information on a plane. Thanks, 3M, for making a quality product. (And no, I don't work for 3M!)

I saw this at a small local computer store for dirt cheap so I decided to pick it up. The fit on my Toshiba laptop is perfect. Looking right at it, you can clearly tell that it is there as it has a dark tint and you can see the thin lines in it, but everything on screen is still readable and enjoyable, except for the annoying, non-removable "3M PF15.0" logo near the bottom right of the filter that blocks off some of the text in the taskbar. It probably won't hinder daily use, but just the fact that it's there is annoying. For the screen to actually appear black, one would have to stand at a rather extreme angle where the screen wouldn't even look all that clear to them in the first place. It will block somebody from reading any text, but for the most part they will still be able to tell what you are doing. Also, once you get dust on the back side of the filter, forget about getting it all off. I can spray it with compressed air all day and wipe it with my microfiber dust clothe as much as I want, but there is still some dust on it.In short, it does *NOT* make on-screen data visible only to the person directly in front of the monitor. I suggest that if you can, try one out first to see if it fits your needs. Maybe somebody at your local computer store will let you put one on a monitor and you can test out the angles to see if it is worth the price for you. - Privacy Filter - Screen Filters - Notebook Privacy Screen - Laptop Privacy'

Nail Gun - senco, best finish nailer

I bought one of these guns recently as a replacement for another nailer. I put in thousands of feet of crown moulding every month and have yet to have any sort of misfire or double nailing. It also sets the head of the nail comfortably below the surface each and every time. ...Yet another great SENCO tool! Senco FinishPro 42XP 15 Gauge 1-1/4-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Finish Nailer with Case

I am a pro contractor who builds fine homes in the Lake Tahoe area.

Senco sets the standard by which all other nailers are rated. I have the new FP41XP and I love it. My old SFN40 is still going strong after about 10 years of heavy use. I had a Bostich (Stanley ) finish nailer before but I found it underpowered compared to the Senco. The nails used for the Bostich are inferior too. The so called galvinized 16Ga Bostich nails rusted easy. Senco nails are the best quality. The galvinized nails look like stainless and will not rust. The tip is easy to un jam if you hit something hard and bend a nail. The nailer has enough power to easily set a nail into 5/4 white oak. The gutless Bostich could not set a nail into 5/4 white oak.

This is a great nailer. It is both smaller and lighter than the SFN40 which is (was) the standard by which all other finish nailers are compared. One outstanding feature of this tool is that it is very quiet, while still able to drive and set 2.5" nails with ease. The depth adjustment and exhaust vent settings work just like other SENCO units, so no complaints there. You cannot go wrong with this unit.

It took a little sorting out to realize that this nailer is Senco's primo finish nailer. We have had a FSN30 on the job, and I was tired of having air shot into my face so I purchased this simply for the feature of an adjustable air deflector. It was worth the purchase! The FP41XP has more going for it than that-- more power, holds both more and longer nails and they load and unload MUCH MUCH easier. The spring that puts tension on the nail strip to feed nails hasn't been sticking as the FSN30's did. Has a good grip and feel, shoots accurately, easy to adjust depth of nail set, and haven't had a jambed nail to clear yet after several weeks of near-constant use, nor a miss-fire. Not all Senco nailers are created equal, and this is one of the best ones I have used.

I own quite a few nailers, and in my opinion this is really a top-of-the-line nailer. The oil-free design is great, it has a lot of power, and is light and convenient to use. This nailer has never jammed on me, but removing a jam is easy thanks to the flip-open front. Setting the nail depth is also easy.

One thing to note is the nails are specific to this gun, so make sure you can get nails at a price that's affordable to you. Another is if you set a nail too deeply you'll notice an elongated depression where the drive pin kissed the wood. I suppose another thing to keep an eye on is your supply of nails, as you go through a clip rather quickly due to the ease of use of this gun.

Summary: The nailer costs a bit more than others and is well worth it.

I have used this for finger jointed crown, finished 2x fir, and tacking up pre-hung doors. It sets doors like a champ. Just don't rely on the nails to hold up over time; do the screw in the hinge trick and you are good to go. Love the feel and balance to it, love the nail loading style and the impressive power it has.

I have been considering this Senco gun. This spring, Senco filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and sold off almost all of it's assets. My local tool repair facility told me they are having a very tough time getting parts now and was not confident about the future. Too bad , they made good tools. So just beware. If you purchase a Senco there's no assurance that parts will be available. Many of the more consumer-oriented and Chineese/Taiwanese import brands have very short-lived parts availability. They are meant to be used by homeowners until they break then thrown in landfills. It remains to be seen what happens to Senco long-term. If anyone has updated info, please respond to this.

There is not alot to a finish nailer. I want it to cositently sink nails at the proper adjusted depth, be easy to clear if it jams( in about 100,000 nails this has jammed three times, all by hitting a hidden drywall screw) which is absoutely amazing. I would think its about ready for a service but it still works well so i keep firing away. Oh and i also want it to feel good in my hand and fire smoothly. Also adjustable exhaust is nice. This does all of the above so it wins iv used others and this feels the best and fires the smoothest.

I've wanted a finish nailer for years and finally got the Senco FP41XP. I just use it around the home and farm, and I've found that it works fine with an air bottle for a quick repair out in the back 40. I designed and built some Craftsman style lighting fixtures out of redwood sticks, basically, and the only way I could assemble it without splitting was with the Senco. The nails seem a bit expensive, but it's very easy and convenient to change sizes back and forth, no tools or adjustments required. Depth of seating is very consistent in different materials...surprisingly so, to me at least. It speeds projects up more than I would have thought - since I do most projects without a helper, I can hold the work randomly in place with one hand and "bam" it's fastened. There's no need to position and clamp for each fastening operation. Also, if you drive a few nails for just a temporary holding operation, it's easy enough to pry the fixture apart when needed, with only minimal holes in the work. - Senco - Oil Free - Nail Gun - Best Finish Nailer'

Cheese Knife

What a great buy! If you're not on board with ordering a gazillion knives for different types of cheeses, have no fear. This one will work for almost all of them - I've used it on Cheddar, Gouda, Parmesan, Manchego, Brie, all kinds. I purchased a wire-type one at the same time, and it's really not necessary. I would only suggest one more type if you'd like perfect slices on very hard cheeses (mine come out okay, but not *perfect*).

It's nicely balanced, great quality, sharp but not too dangerous, and looks great on a cheese board. If you have modern silverware, it matches up just right. Highly recommended. Swissmar Cheese Knife, Soft Cheese, Stainless Steel

The open sides make this knife glide through cheese very easily and cleanly. It is much handier than a wire and fits in a regular knife block. I bought this one for a gift, and though it cost less than the one I use, the stainless handle and blade are very attractive. It has a nice heft and quality feel.

An okay knife for semi soft and medium cheeses, but crushes soft cheeses and sticks.....Try the cheese knife that Amazon sells that is made of a special resin/plastic..it is amazing, see my review for that one!

This knife does not work well for slicing cheese. It is sharpened only on one side, so there is a bevel to the blade that forces the knife into or out of the cheese you are slicing, biasing towards one direction. This makes it nearly impossible to get a uniform slice of cheese, and often I get only a few shreds while the knife fights against me. It is of high quality construction and is quite sturdy. It has little teeth on the blade that help it bite into the cheese, but will prevent later re-sharpening. Even after much practice I cannot get it to work to reliably slice uniform slices of cheese.

Bought as a gift - because I love my Cutco cheese knife (Cutco #1764) but was too cheap to fork out the $50 as a present. Thought this one would be similar - but it wasn't. It's passable for a cheese knife - but the Cutco cheese knife is by far superior - I use it several times a week to slice thin even slices off Tillamook cheddar bricks and it works like a dream - perfect and easily sliced pieces every time - I've never had a cheese slicer or knife that was half as good and I've tried half a dozen or more.'

Ipod Touch 4g Case

This fits perfectly and my daughter loves the design. Sometimes I have to help her get it off when she wants to switch covers - at first I though I would break it - but it surprisingly didn't break. She loves the design and it's still intact. Snap-On Protector Hard Case for Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation / 4th Gen - ChalkBoard Stars Design

Great Ipod cover! It is so very sturdy and durable once placed on the Ipod. There are 2 spots of where the plastic is thin and you need to use caution when handling it when not on the Ipod, but once it's on your good to go! Great colors too!

This case comes in 2 pieces and is simple. It snaps on the front and back, fits like a glove and has the correct holes for the camera. I put it on the Ipod Touch 4th generation. I also put my own screen protector on the Ipod since the case just protects the body. Really like it.

I personally think that this an okay product. I love the beautiful design on the front but, it is really hard to get off. One time while is was trying to get the case off, the side broke and and now there's a crack in it. Also, DO NOT GET THIS FOR ANOTHER TYPE OF I POD TOUCH because the iPod touch 4th generation is thinner than all the others so it might not fit and there is a hole for the camera on the back so it might look weird.'

Bluetooth Mouse - laser mouse, bluetooth

I wanted a mouse for my Macbook that did not require me to plug in a dongle. Therefore, a bluetooth mouse was my obvious choice. I heard about this mouse some months before it was available for purchase. It has bluetooth and laser. I am glad I waited for this mouse - it is great. It does what a mouse should without having to fuss with it or deal with all kinds of uneeded "features". Logitech once again came up with a winner.

It was recognized easily by my Macbook and worked perfectly without having to tweak anything. Contrary to what some reviewers say about laser mice, this mouse is not too sensitive. Scrolling is smooth and accurate. There is a slight delay when the computer starts for bluetooth to recognize the mouse, but this is negligible.

There is an on-off switch to conserve the battery -- very nice! Also, it is white to match my Macbook. I have had this mouse about a week and have not discovered any negatives. I love it. Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (Blue)

(Update after 3 months of use: The mouse has performed amazingly. It is a joy to use and travels well with my MacBook. I bought this in November and have used it every day. Now (February), I finally get the low battery indicator. The batteries lasted a very long time (and I do not shut the mouse down often. If you have a MacBook, this mouse is a great addition to it. You won't be sorry.)

* * *

I just got my white MacBook today and connected the Logitech V470 to it. After a few minutes of mousing around, the computer for some reason lost the connection. I suspect it was my fault as I was messing with the preferences trying to learn Apple Mac OS X Version 10.5 Leopard's features. I re-attached it and since then it has not given me any problems. The computer sleeps and wakes up and the mouse just works almost instantly. It is smooth and works well. The mouse design fits the white MacBook perfectly. I have large hands and even though this mouse is smaller than a standard mouse, the fit is comfortable. It is amazing not to have cords or dongles cluttering your desktop. I highly recommend it. Given the horrible reviews of the Logitech software, I never installed the CD that came with it. It works very well without it. Option-scroll wheel zooms on the whole screen, the tilt wheel scrolls horizontally -- It simply works.

This is the second bluetooth mouse that I've tried (the other being the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Mac/Win) as a full-time mouse companion for my Apple BT keyboard. To its credit, the mouse maintains a connection better than the MSFT mouse (i.e. it reconnects at all), though as mentioned by other reviewers, it's definitely more sluggish to respond from sleep (and quicker to go to sleep) than the Apple counterparts. That said, the ergonomics are only slightly better than Apple's mice and my hands get cramped if I use it for more than a couple of hours in a row (i.e. heavy photo editing or similar).

Pros: bluetooth, portable, works, even comes with a bag.

Cons: Logitech software kills Growl - a known issue on their end which they have no intention of fixing. So you have to choose between growl working, or being able to customize the buttons/wheel (though OSX seems to do a decent enough of a job of this on its own - there are no fancy side buttons). As another reviewer mentioned, the black stuff on the side is coming off, which just feels unsettling, even if it is just cosmetic.

So overall? I'm still using it, though I can't say that I'm necessarily "happy" with it. It beats the competition, though that's an extremely low bar with few contenders. Maybe in a few years...

-/\/

I bought this mouse for my macbook and it works great. The mouse comes with a CD which had software for both MAC OS and Windows OS. Installation of software was easy and mac's built-in bluetooth immediately recognized the mouse. I have windows installed on Mac thru Bootcamp and this mouse works great on windows side as well.

The bluetooth connectivity is good and the software on the system allows us to control pointer/clicking speed and some other advanced options. The size of mouse is medium, not as big as regular mice. I like the On/Off switch provided at the bottom for saving battery power. The carrying case which comes with this mouse is also decent.

Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.

Mouse works perfectly for most purposes. The power switch on the bottom is a nice feature (I've had other that the only way to turn them off was remove the batteries). The carrying case comes in handy. The only latency issues are when I first start to use the mouse, it takes half a second before the cursor moves and when windows is running slow. I am using it with Vista Ultimate, which makes the software it comes with not only not necesarry, but a detriment. I would recomend not using the logitech mouse software. Windows will recognize the mouse as soon as it starts up and even install the drivers for it without using the disk. But, when the logitech software is installed the mouse works fine until the logitech software loads. The mouse then quits working and the logitech software asks if I would like to reconnect the mouse. Again, without the software installed, the mouse connects automatically and stays connected. Also, the tilt wheel scrolling and zoom features only seem to work if the sofware is installed. But, the horizontal tilt wheel scrolling is so horribly slow even when it is set to maximum speed that it is unbearable. The opening to press the reconnect button on the bottom of the mouse is so small I have to use my finger nail to press it. But, on vista, it seems that you only need to press it the first time you connect the mouse to your computer, so it's not that big of a deal.

Other than those issues, the mouse works great and I'm pleased with it and would recommend it to anyone who wants a bluetooth mouse and has built in blue tooth on their computer, since this mouse does not come with a bluetooth adaptor. - Logitech - Laser Mouse - Bluetooth - Wireless Mouse'

Video Cable - monitor cables, computer cables

I wanted a cable that ran from my computer to my HDTV, had great picture quality, and didn't want to pay for advertising(ex. MONSTER CABLE) .I was not disapointed. Very clear(and heavy) cable. It is very sturdy too. Contrast is awsome. Overall very nice cable for the price. I now use it to play games on my TV from my computer(and watch HDTV trailers)

PS. even though it is 15ft long ...there is no ghosting or picture abnormalities. StarTech 15-Feet Coax High Resolution VGA Monitor Cable - HD15 M/M (MXT105MMHQ)

The picture is missleading. The one we got when we ordered this has GOLD ends, as opposed to silver. It's a highly durable, and attractive cable that has worked SUPERBLY. I'd recommend this RGB cable to anyone looking for a good cable, for a low cost. :)

I purchased 15ft Coax SVGA from Amazon.com. Upon receipt of the cable, it was amazing to notice that it was bad item. Called customer service of the selling company and within 5 days I received replacement with pre-paid postage for returning the bad item. New cable works like champ.

I bought this cable to replace 2 6 foot VGA cables, one VGA M-M and a VGA extension cable, so it could reach my HDTV from my PC. Those 2 were crappy quality and I had ghost cloning on everything, dark objects on a white background had a ghost effect repeating to their right side, it was driving me nuts. so I bought this cable. First thing I noticed when I booted up the PC is that those clone images were all gone, I was happy at first glance, but as it booted up to the Desktop, I noticed that the screen was shifted way over to the right side, I couldn't even see the clock or half of the gadget bar in Vista. I played with the video card resolutions and I noticed it was showing up as a default VGA monitor, and not as Westinghouse HDTV, like it did on my old cables. That meant that the EDID doesn't work on the cable. And I can only pick the closest resolution of 1360*768 instead of the TV's native resolution of 1366*768.

I did solve the issue with the huge offset by actually going into the HDTV menu on the set and go into VGA settings, then click on the Autosync button in the menu and that recentered the screen perfectly.

This item it work's perfectly, but it's heavy, if you are looking for something more practical, look for a HDMI cable. And doesn't alow the sound go to your TV, like HDMI, but like VGA cable, it's a very good tool, I recommend.

I ordered the 15ft Coax Monitor Cable and was very happy with the great

quality and price. If you try to purchase this in Best Buy or Radio Shack you would pay alot more. It was also received in a speedy time. I was very impressed and look forward to doing business with this company again. - Vga - Computer Cables - Monitor Cables - Hdtv'

Relaxation - head massager, relaxation

There was some ink on the handle and a tiny discoloration scratch or something, got rid of all but the little scratch, soured the experience, but is a great item, handle is ugly though, which it was wood. Worth the price.

Tried one to see, and promptly ordered four more to have fun little gifts on hand. The pretty colors on the rainbow massager means that the tines are coated in plastic, which I think makes it more comfortable than bare metal, and also less likely to snag or snarl in hair. Hint: GidgetsGadgets has the ONLY reasonable shipping rate as these are very lightweight to ship :)

This is a simple and nice product for someone who loves scratching their head! The customer service was great and personally called me since my shipping address entered turned out to be undeliverable by USPS. They even changed the mailing packaging so it would fit in a smaller mailbox to accomodate my other shipping address. A+

I picked one of these up as an impulse buy while I was out shopping and it was so great that I ordered more to give to friends. Everyone has really liked them. In fact one of them swears it's absolutely wonderful if you have a headache. - Relaxation - Head Massager'
