32 Inch - 32 inch 1080p, 720p

I have this TV and enjoy the sound and picture quality. I'm a soundaholic. If you've never had a stereo or srs/home theater sound... it DOES take some time to adjust. The sound can be *VERY INTENSE*.

I suggest you adjust the sound; turn the TruSurround HD sound *TO OFF*, but do leave the TruVolumn *ON* (you can enter the graphic equalizer presets) use these to set the quality sound you enjoy most. When you do this it's of course 'best' to be playing music, music dvd IS BEST.

If you SET the preset equalizer setting to *FLAT OR OFF*... you will be able to enter and customize the settings on your (*bass & treble*) levels.

Don't hesitate to play around with the sound settings, one click will return it to the factory settings.

You will require a lower volumn level, significantly lower... the audio quality IS dynamic and intense for this TV. VIZIO E320VA 32-Inch Class LCD HDTV, Black

I think that the Vizio folks should have made the default to OFF on the SRS TruVolume. If they had I think several of the owners would not be experiencing the issues with the sound. I set mine up, read the reviews, turned OFF the SRS TruVolume feature and now the sound is fine.

I'm not sure how high the volume will go. I've got mine on "2" and it is plenty loud and very clear.

I purchased this to use with my new Xbox 360 with Kinect. I'm replacing a 19" Sanyo that was purchased in 1989 by my older brother. So, maybe my expectations are not very high...for $299 I'm pleased and it is a tremendous step up from what I had.

I got this on a Gold Box deal. This was to be used in the sunroom...which we could fit a 26 or a 32 in the spot. I also bought two Vizio Razor LED 26" http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-M260VA-26-Inch-Class-RazorLED/dp/B003LL17HK at the same time for bedrooms (all pre-black Friday specials).

Living with all of them for four days...and I can see why this is rated 3/5 stars. 3 stars is generous.

I am using cable through RF. No cable box. The sound issues I noticed is flipping between standard definition channels and HD channels. For example, watching two football games. If I go from an SD channel like ESPN to HD (local ABC), the sound on the HD channel is much lower. I have to jack the volume up on the HD channel, then when I flip back to ESPN, it's way too loud.

ABC HD is 13-1 and ABC SD is 13. I proved the sound issue flipping back and forth between the two while a song was playing on the station... huge difference in sound.

This is with TruVolume on....TruSurround on. Honestly, I didn't play too much with the audio settings like another reviewer suggested because I shouldn't have to. TruVolume should level out the sound between channels and commercials...and it apparently doesn't work.

Another annoying thing is there is a delay when changing channels. You flip up one channel...it delays 2 seconds...shows the picture and then delays another second to start sound. Sounds minor until you start flipping channels and realize the annoyance...we had a cheap AOC LCD TV that did something similar...which is why I will never buy an AOC TV again.

The Razor LED TV hooked up to the same RF cable does not have this delay...the picture and volume come up in a second simultaneously. Also, the sound difference is much less...there is one, but its minimal and you don't have to change the volume level.

The picture is not quite as nice as the Razor LED...but pretty good. I did not try this with our DVR...but if you are hooking this up to a cable box and bypassing the tuner, you might not have these issues with sound and channel changing delay. I don't want to have to rent another cable box to make this TV work. Plus I am not buying a computer monitor, I am buying a HDTV with a tuner that should work better.

I like the Razor LED's, so this just appears to be a bad model in their line. The Razor LED 32" is a 1080p set (http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-M320VT-32-Inch-1080p-Backlighting/dp/B003PGX0VM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1289411221&sr=1-1) and a bit more than we want to spend. I saw that in a store and it's nice.

So four days in...and although 32" is significantly bigger than 26"...it's already at UPS tonight on its way back. I'll use one of the Vizio 26" Razors as it's just a much better overall TV.

As mentioned already about the sound quality. You definitely got to adjust the volume as it can get really loud or really soft. The picture quality is amazing though. The home setting might be a little dark. I prefer the movie setting or sports setting to get a little more light. It's a very good deal for the price they offer. Many HDTV's seem to struggle with sound quality but at least this one has some bass to it. And like I said. It's an easy fix by changing the volume for each program or a loud part of a program. Definitely recommended. - 720p - Vizio - Hdtv - 32 Inch 1080p'

Excellent Value - cat5, ethernet cables

I purchased these patch cables with the understanding these were FACTORY TERMINATED patch cables from Belkin. The ad picture even shows a picture of a REAL Belkin cable, with factory terminated RJ45's.

What I received was some Belkin cable with a HAND TERMINATED RJ45! If I wanted this, I could have made myself. I don't believe just because Belkin cable is used, this can be called a "Belkin Patch Cable".

The cost was cheap and I need the cables yesterday, so I had to use them. Not worth the effort and time to return. So far, no problems, but I won't buy these again and recommend others don't. But I worry about the cables being used in production. It's an unnecessary risk that will surely cause a service call later. Belkin A3L791B10 CAT5E Patch Cable (10 feet)

It is manually terminated with Cat 5E Belkin cable, nothing more!

I would not recommend this purchase because of the quality and integrity of the cable.

The picture of the cable is not what I got from Amazon!

My patch cable came in a small plastic bag, and is also hand-terminated. The picture for this item is somewhat deceptive, as there are no rubber grips, it uses just standard RJ45 connectors.

However, the cable functions properly, and appears to have been terminated by someone who knows how to do it (it looks much better than cables I've terminated myself).

Overall, it was cheap and it works - being hand-terminated is not a problem for me, although it should be stated somewhere on this page that they are hand-terminated.

The cable I purchased is not the one pictured, and I can tell you why. It

is a 'bulk' style cable made by Belkin (I checked the UPC registry), NOT

the PRO Series pictured with the strain relief.

The PRO Series from Belkin has the strain relief, model numbers ending in

-S, e.g. A3L791-25-S purchased from Amazon. Be aware of this, I see other

reviewers complained also. The FastCAT 5e series also has strain relief,

e.g. part #A3L850-07KS-MOD. The 'S' in the part # means strain relief as

part of the manufacture. Look for this when buying Belden cables and you

won't feel deceived or burned by the seller, unless they ship the wrong

part number to you. In this case make sure what you're buying first. Even

so I had no problem using these bulk style cables.

They are cheap. I didn't like them and I'm not using these cables anymore.

I wanted to expand my ethernet network to include a second computer in a remote office. With only one cable going to this location I needed a switch and two more cables.

These cables have a very low price, and the length assured me the needed flexibility in locating the equipment in the room. I installed the switch, attached the computers with two of these cables and was back in business.

The cables are doing a great job and everything is working as it should.

The picture shows molded connectors, but the actual cable has hand crimped connectors that are much less reliable. Since Amazon ships and sells this product, they should take responsibility for changing the picture to match the item. - Cat5 - Ethernet Cables - Belkin - Cable'

Ipod Docking Station

[Update: In answer to some questions, this stereo has a conventional audio input, so you can easily use it with sound sources other than an iPod. As someone has observed, the Cyber Acoustic web page claims the Nano 3g can't be charged by the CA-421 dock. Au contraire! When using electrical power and the included dock adapter, I had no difficulty charging a Nano 3g with this CA-421 dock. In fact, contrary to the company's description, it did the same with a Classic and the Touch (I don't own an iPhone, though.) Since writing the following, I've "gone through" other speakers, including the most popular rechargeable Altec Lansing and Logitech, both of which balk at playing the newest Touch. This inexpensive iRhythms model actually sounds competitive and continues to be the only portable I can depend on (no doubt due to the well-constructed adapters and the provision for using regular AA alkalines). As for the outdoors volume limitation, even the very pricey, much lauded Tivoli iPal falls flat on its face when used outside. These battery-operated machines simply are not backyard party animals. Finally, these are far and away the best labeled and designed adapters I've seen.]

After becoming attached to a JBL Micro, I decided I could use another, more affordable version. The Cyber Acoustics dock-speaker seemed like a worthy candidate, especially at a half to two-thirds the price of the JBL. Frankly, I wasn't expecting a unit as good as the vaunted JBL but was willing to sacrifice some quality to save a few bucks.

Surprise. If anything, the Cyber Acoustics sounds better than the On Stage Micro! Tastes will vary, but the CA-421 is slightly warmer, has deeper and fuller bass, and is less inclined to distort when playing files recorded excessively "hot." The Micro is a bit more crisp-sounding with a slight edge in treble frequencies (as noticed while comparing the drum's hi-hats and ride cymbals on the two units). I'm finding the Cyber Acoustics unit "wears" better for extending listening stretches.

Aside from the sound of the two units, the Cyber Acoustics-421 will seem agreeably light and trim--unless you've owned a JBL Micro, which wins on style points (the impressiveness of the Micro's sound is partly due to its coming from such a tiny saucer). The JBL also gets points for finishing touches and detailing--the look and feel are less "plastic" (even though, unlike the boxed CA, it comes sealed in virtually impenetrable plastic laminate). Also, the JBL's carrying bag is supple and cushioned (with interior pockets and velcro straps to keep Micro, iPod, and cords tightly and neatly packed); the CA's is basically a functional "sack." On the other hand, the Cyber Acoustics has clearer labeling of the plastic inserts for adapting different iPod models; the JBL comes with the inserts, but the user has to pick the right one through trial and error.

Even if the cost of the two units were the same, the CA-461 would still be competitive, if for sound alone. Perhaps the most compelling reason to go with the JBL in that case is its inclusion of a remote--admittedly handy for starting, stopping, and changing tunes when the speaker is on the other side of the room. But even without the remote, I doubt you'll find a better value in an iPod dock-speaker than this little Cyber Acoustics overachiever.

Finally, give the Cyber Acoustics people credit for making the power adapter light and compact, easily deployed whenever the user wishes to save on batteries (I returned a JBL On Stage II because the power adapter was practically the size and weight of a small boat anchor, making it clumsy for use even with some electrical installations.) Cyber Acoustics Portable Digital Docking Speaker for iPod (Black)

I was looking for something cheap to listen to podcasts while I was working in the garage. This thing plays loudly with no apparent distortion. Very well designed with digital volume control. Recharged my iTouch in less than an hour. At the present it has adapters for all iPods regardless of what the descriptions may say. Had I paid twice as much I would have still regarded it as a bargain.

These speakers have great sound for their size. If you're looking to spend this amount on speakers, then they are great. I listen to dance music when I'm travelling and the sound is good when it's played reasonably loud. My only (small) complaint is that I have a white iPod and only black speakers are available. But apart from that, I'm really happy with these.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something small, w/ good sound and portable. This docking station delivers. The sound quality is great considering how small it is. Of course to much of anything is bad, so if you decide to turn it all the way up, you may blow the speakers. I don't think it was made to serenade the whole neighborhood. It fits all IPODS, even the Iphone, and the best is that is doubles as a charger.

Some things to keep in mind. It does not have controls on it (only for volume) so most controlling (skipping, repeating, searching, sound) is done from your IPOD. This could be a good or bad thing, depending on what your wants are. Also, it has great sound, but again, this is used more for a small area, like a dining or kitchen or garage area. Not for music heard all over the house. For that you may want to consider buying a stereo system w/ a docking station. Also, it comes w/ no remote. This didn't bother me, but keep in mind that you have to walk over to it to change settings, songs, etc. A little exercise never hurt anyone! Finally, the speakers don't carry. If you've ever had a Bose, the speakers are constructed around the docking stations allowing them to carry sound further. Not this one. For example, I had the docking station in the kitchen and as soon as I went to the next room, the sound was muffled a bit by the wall. Really not a big deal because it satisfied my needs in the end, but if you are looking for projection, check out a stereo system instead.

All in all, this satisfied my need for a docking station and I'd buy it again any time of the week and twice on Sunday. The price was great, the quality is great and the docking station is simple, problem free--perfect for an electronically challenged person like myself ;)!

Remote-control Extenders - ir emitter, ir kit

I am a professional installer and system designer and have used the Xantech shelf top and "dinky-link" receivers with mostly good results in the past. This system replaced an older shelf top unit that I was using due to the excellent response and replaced it with this unit in the exact same system and environment and the response was far less than the replace unit. I have also used the "dinky link" units with also poor results unless very close to the receiver, which is not typical for many of my installations. They have released a poor, not fully tested design that cannot be used in my installations going forward. I have found some of the older #291-10 units to purchase to replace this unit or the similar "dinky-link" receivers, which will hopefully result in a consistent response from my customers that use IR remote systems. Major disappointment. XANTECH 29110DBKit Designer Hidden Link Infrared Kit (Black)

I purchased the Xantech kit from Smarthome through Amazon. Delivery was timely with no problems.

The Xantech IR equipment replaces an IR extender I bought from Radio Shack that has very limited capability. After failing to adapt the Radio Shack equipment to my specific requirements, I threw in the towel and bought the Xantech. The Xantech extender is a flexible SYSTEM that can be expanded if necessary to handle new equipment or special situations such as plasma TVs.

Construction quality is first rate. The kit is well documented, and installation is intuitive and quite easy. The IR receiver and connecting block are small and unobtrusive.

I am controlling 4 different components including a Rotel receiver, a Denon DVD/SACD player, an Apple TV, and an "el cheapo" Insignia HD radio tuner. Everything works with the device specific remotes as well as a Logitech Harmony remote programmed to control all of this equipment. The Rotel and Denon are controlled using monaural cables to the IR in jacks rather than using the IR emitters. For the Insignia tuner and Apple TV I'm using the paste on IR emitters.

The only problem I've encountered is with a SIIG power center that can activate switched outlets with either Infrared signals or a hard wired connection to an IR extender. The wired connection does not work, but the paste on IR emitter works fine with the SIIG.

If you are considering an IR extender, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money for a proven product. In the long run, you will save a lot of time and avoid a lot of frustration. - Ir Kit - Ir Emitter - Remote-control Extenders - Ir Repeater'

Cable Modems - internet, motorola

Recently I started looking for a modem to replace my aging Motorola SB4100. Based on the good reviews, I decided to buy the Motorola SB5120. Unfortunately, I found the SB5120 extremely hard to find (Amazon did not have it in stock at the time). The SB5101 however was in stock everywhere for about $50. Out of frustration, I contacted Motorola to ask about availability and the significant differences between the 5120 and the 5101. The Motorola technician that I talked to told me that the reason the 5120 is scarce is that it is no longer manufactured. He also explained that the difference between the two modems is the internal chipset. The 5120 is a TI and the 5101 is a Broadcom. He also said that there is no difference in performance; both are capable of 38 Mbps downstream and 30 Mbps upstream (limited by the cable company's tiers and number of users on the net).

Finally, I asked him which he preferred (since I could still track down a 5120 if I was willing to pay enough...). He stated unequivocally that he preferred the SB5101 and the Broadcom chipset. He also stated that the speed on the modems is artificially capped by the cable companies so that they can sell tiers of service. This modem, he said, has a lot of available overhead so as the broadband companies compete and raise their level of service, this modem can handle it. Finally, he told me that there is a new DOCSIS standard (3.0) recently approved; the 5101 modem is upgradeable to DOCSIS 3.0 should the cable company choose to do so.

That said, I followed his recommendation and bought a 5101. Motorola SB5120 Surfboard Cable Modem Docsis 1.1 and 2.0 Certified USB

My old RCA modem for my [...] service turned flakey so I called Comcast to come out and see what was wrong. They replaced the modem with some no-name cheapie and I saw my download rate drop from 4 MBps to 1.2 MBps ! Yikes! I called their techs again and asked what happened. Their response: "The ping looks great, you can't trust those speed test websites (dslreports in this case) and modems don't make any difference in speed". Yeah, right. I immediately bought this Surfboard modem, replaced the no-name one, called Comcast to enable the MAC address and what was 1.2 MPs download immediately prior to the modem switch-out was now happily above 4 MBps and a totally solid connection! The cable modem makes a huge difference and this is a great one!

Used the SB5120 to replace Linksys BEFCMU10 (Version 3.0). The SB5120 performs better and is much more stable.

I had performance and reliability problems using VOIP service over my Linksys cable modem. Under load the Linksys cable modem has high latency and performs poorly. The Linksys cable modem required a reset a few times a week. (Note: no problems with my Linksys VOIP router.)

With the SB5120 my VOIP connection sounds better and is more stable (no cable modem resets required). My overall latency is lower and WEB pages load much faster.

Packet forwarding performance is much better with the SB5120.

I echo the sentiments of several of the reviewers about slow degradation of modems over time resulting in flaky function with intermittent loss of service, and subpar download speeds. I also share the experience with tech support at Comcast that was clueless about this possibility, never suggesting it, doing a lot of meaningless tests with reassurances, making me go through a lot of purposeless handstands as they tried to troubleshoot the difficulty.

Exasperated, to experiment on my own, I replaced my 5 year old RCA modem with this Motorola, basically to save the tech fee for a housecall if it was simply the modem, and it most certainly was that. So the savings in the tech fee paid for the modem!! (...) Although my download speed never exceeded 3.5 Mb/s with the old modem, I was supposed to be getting 5+ Mb/s. With this Motorola modem I am getting about 9.2 Mb/s!! The surfing efficiency is very noticeably improved, and I should have tried this months ago.

The installation is trivial, and once the ISP configures the modem, you're up and running. If you are using a router in a network, you may have to reconfigure your router with the new setup. My Linksys router would not function even though I reset it, until I went through the steps to completely reconfigure it which only took a couple of minutes.

This modem also has a handy standby switch which effectively breaks the connection of the modem to the network computers as an added security feature when you are not using the internet. It does have a very narrow profile with a shallow footed base, so with cords attached, it is a little metastable on a desktop. It is best to place it against a more solid structure on the desk, or if you have it in the kneewell of a desk, as I do, it fits beautifully and securely against the sidewall on top of my multimedia subwoofer.

Highly recommended product. - Internet - Motorola - Modem - Broadband'

Mouse Pad - cheap, belkin

I bought this for an optical mouse, reluctantly. I thought that maybe it would make the accuracy even worse than on my desk since it's just one plain color (my desk is a bit bright colored, therefore reflective, and causing the cursor to get 'stuck' while I'm moving the mouse)

It works very, very well though. It is very smooth and accurate. Really can't complain about functionality at all.

It's bigger than I thought. It's really lightweight though; it doesn't slip on my desk during regular use (which is fairly slippery) but compared to higher priced mouse pads, it's not as heavy, but this is expected for $2. Belkin Standard Mouse Pad (Blue)

I hate to give a bad review. However I feel obligated to warn all. This mouse pad is only good for a prop. Only good to look at not to touch! Thirty days ago I purchased three of these thinking it would be a life time supply. Wrong. After one month use these three mouse pads are honest to goodness worn out! The material has in that short period of time separated from the overly light foam backing/base. This mouse pad didn't last. That's about one mouse pad per week! At the same time I purchased the equally boring but much better quality product Belkin F8E089-BLK 8-by-9-Inch Mouse Pad (Black). For the slight difference in price you'd be ill advised to purchase this inferior product. Sorry. This is a complete non pass durability wise. Again try the mouse pad mentioned above, you'll be glad you did way better quality and performance!

I got two of these. They are great for the price. They're lighter than expected which I was initially worried about but they seem to be working fine. Can't beat the price and I ordered them from Amazon.com through a great deal I found on DailyTool.com.

Great product, however don't embarrass yourself like I did. I purchased a mouse off of Amazon.com and decided to throw in a mouse pad. It turns out that the pad was sent by CompUSA (not Amazon) and I was charged $8.00 for shipping of a $1.95 mousepad. Ridiculous! I didn't read all of the Amazon fine print. Do not waste your money.

It looks like a good mouse pad with a black rubber backing, but NO NO NO it's not. It is light as a feather and made of lightweight black foam so it will skid all around your desk. I returned them for some better ones that have the standard heavy rubber backing. Stay away from this cheap product that only SIMULATES a mouse pad. The low price should clue you in. Good pads cost $5 to $6.

Holy mouse pads I don't believe that mouse pads prices are so much, remember when they used to give them away. Well it's not full of holes but it works great. It's a bit light weight, not real bulky so it was just what I was looking for to use with my laptop (I hate using the finger pad on the laptop). It has A standard cloth front that is a bright blue (although black would have been my 1st choice) and a good grippy back that resists sliding around. I always buy enough stuff to get free shipping so this was a good one to use when I needed a few more bucks to get the shipping FREE. If you can stand the color this is the most you are going to get at this price. - Mousepads - Belkin - Cheap - Ripoff'

Kitchenaid Blender - coupling, blender

After reading the reviews I wondered about the part. Some said thAt it would fit and others said it doesn't. Perhaps it will fit other models but it certainly does fit the Kitchen Aid KSB5. It is much smaller and there are only 2 cogs instead of the original 6. I am happy that I purchased this with an Amazon.com Credit Card. They helped me get a refund with no problem. I did have to pay for the shipping the part to them and also the shipping of the part to me. That came out to almost $5.00. At least I got a little over $12.00 back. On their reciept it states that there if there is "free" shipping there will be a $10.00 handling charge plus the price of the shipping charge to send the item to you. Thank goodness this was not the case or I would have been a very unhappy camper. IF YOU HAVE A KITCHEN AID KSB5 BLENDER DO NOT BUY THIS PART......IT WILL NOT FIT!

this cutter blade assembly does NOT fit the Kitchen-Aid model KSB5, this assembly is a Very CHEAP replacement part that is SMALLER, does NOT center its self on the blender which makes it VERY dangerous, and only has TWO cogs that fit into the blender driver (original part had SIX), DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS CHEAP & DANGEROUS REPLACEMENT PART !!!!

I did read the negative reviews by Dwight and Timothy but my blender only had a one 'bar' tang to begin with so I took a chance on ordering it. My model was a KSB3WH4. It fit perfectly and works great. Considering I can't get this part anywhere else, this was a great deal. For those that had problems there may be enough change between models to have caused their heartache, unfortunately.

This is the third cutter blade and gasket assembly we have purchased for our KitchenAid blender. The other two failed because the blade assembly became very stiff to the point of being unable to turn it by hand after cleaning. The new one we bought has sharp edges on the blades which should make it more efficient for the blending tasks we use it for, mostly making malts, smoothies and bread/cracker crumbs. The others have lasted a couple of years each. We'll see how long this one makes it.

Although this is the first time ever ordering this product, the advertised item was just as expected. With parts like this, the description needs to be specific enough. I was able to find a part number somewhere, but the part numbers change or are superceded over the years. I went with a part that was described with a picture, and I was able to select it with confidence. Prices vary quite a bit for items like this. Luckily, I was able to find a low price through the Amazon system. - Coupling - Blender - Kitchen Aid - Kitchen Aid Blender - Replacement - Junk'
