I dictated this review using Dragon NaturallySpeaking number nine. The first half of the review is the raw version, just as Dragon NaturallySpeaking transcribed it. Then I will correct the review so you can judge how well the program performs.



I will admit my expectations were low. I had previously owned an earlier version of a Dragon NaturallySpeaking, but it performed so poorly I removed it from the computer. I also seem to remember that Windows came with a version of the speech recognition that also did not work well enough to be worth the bother. I quit using it as well. The problem with each of these programs was that, although they did transcribe many words correctly, they made so many mistakes it turned out just to be easier to type myself more, since I generate a lot of letters for my business, to hire a transcription service.



I bought a Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 9, standard version, on only among on a whim. Magazine reviews of the program had been a favorable, and the price was only $99. Still, I expected poor results. As you have seen however, the program does a remarkably good job of transcribing my speech. This is with very little training -- no more than a few minutes. I now find that it is quicker to take dictate into Dragon NaturallySpeaking and later go back and correct the errors than it is to just type myself.



Still, the product does have a few drawbacks.



Number one: the user license is for only one person. Even if you install the software on only one computer, you must still pay in nuance separate licensing fee for each person who uses the program. Imagine having to pay a separate licensing fee for each person who uses Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat elements. That's crazy, and it just passes me off.



Number two: although I have a 3.2 GHz computer, Dragon NaturallySpeaking does seem to noticeably slow down the machine's performance.



Number three: I'm a little worried about the programs stability and compatibility. It sometimes seems to freeze for 30 seconds or so. It will sometimes accept dictation into Microsoft Access, other times it accepts the dictation then immediately erases the result. I've also found that my mission-critical retrospect backup software isn't working.



[Typed adendum: I've also discovered (Win XP Pro, Office 2003): DNat.Speaking

1) damages MS Access so that quitting Access leaves an orphan instance of Access running--and you can't then reopen Access.

2) Damages MS Word so that you can no longer select text with the mouse.

3) Damages Adobe Acrobat Standard so that the only way to get it's OCR function to work is to restart the computer]



Number four: related to number three is Nuance software's policy of charging for technical assistance. I'm worried that the company puts out a product with obvious flaws [it's seeing number three above], then turns fixing those problems into a profit center.



Finally, I've discovered that dictating letters and reports results and of very different prose style then typing does. Part of the reason is that when you're dictating you must think carefully about each sentence, but once the sentence is a dictated there's no good way to go back to change it. Your output is a wordier. Your thoughts and paragraphs are much less tightly structured. That means that Dragon NaturallySpeaking is good for in a formal e-mails and job progress notes, and for highly structured, repetitive, business reports. It is much less useful for writing that requires careful thought and structure.

I've been wearing these socks for my weekly mountain hiking, and daily walking I try to keep up. And this sock proves to be durable and comfortable for me. It's not the softest/thickest fabric, but it is comfortable enough for my activity, and still going strong after many washes. Gold Toe Men's Cotton Sport Liner, 6-Pack, White, 10-13

I've never been too picky with socks. I usually just go for whatever socks look the cheapest, because I usually don't find a difference between the more expensive socks anyway. I decided to go for these though, a little more expensive than what I usually get, but now that I did they are well worth it. They are extremely comfortable and, though i haven't had them for long, at least they feel like good quality and won't de-thread on me anytime soon. Great socks.

I've been ordering these socks for the past few years and love them! When brand new, these socks are extremely soft and very comfortable! They provide just the right amount of cushioning without being "slippery" when exercising. I play a lot of indoor soccer with these socks, and they tend to last about 6 months before losing their softness and wearing through the heel.

It seems a bit strange to be writing a review about socks, but these Gold Toe Socks really do deserve a review. I just bought some new ones for this year, and I realized I should write a review to just reinforce what others have said, and that is to say these socks are very comfortable. I personally buy new socks every year, and when I replaced my Gold Toe Socks, they were still in good shape, though I did notice after wearing the new ones that the padding may have worn a little thinner on my old ones (not bad since I had them over a year!) If you have never worn Gold Toe Socks before, I suggest buying a few pairs and giving them a shot. This is now the only brand I buy.

I only purchase Gold Toe products, usually from Penney's. I like thick socks with a cushioned sole, but these are not that variety. These are comparatively thin, but still a decent product for the money. There are some things you just need to touch and feel before you buy them and I have to put socks into that category in the future. These socks do shrink. The elastic band is rather tight in my opinion. Back when I was young, the elastic in socks always stretched and fell down. Now the elastic is too strong and too small. That is the only reason I wear these cut off socks. Regular socks dig into my skin and leave an imprint and then irritate my skin. Who is designing socks these days anyway? Since I was 11 or 12 I've had acne issues - it started out mild but eventually my skin became oily and filled with acne; Now 18 years old, I've tried ProActive, Clearasil, and now this AcneFree system.



First of all, let me say: Don't waste your time on ProActive. Of the three I mentioned above, it was the least effective. ProActive is just basically watered-down Clearasil, which is great for use on mild acne.



However, for moderate to severe acne, I highly recommend this product. I've been using it for a little more than two weeks and, while my face is not completely free of acne (although I suspect it will be soon), it is much less irritated and my skin does feel softer. I don't have many bumps, just red blotches where the acne used to be. These mild blotches are going away each passing day.



HOWEVER, I must state: while this product is great for severe acne and works well (yes, better than ProActive, in my opinion) I would NOT recommend using it for mild acne or as some kind of skin care treatment. These are POTENT chemicals that you are putting on your face/chest/back, not some mild antibiotics.



Now, my skin has been very tolerant to acne medications thus far, and I have not experienced any itching, peeling or irritation. However, this product did BURN around my eyes. DO NOT USE IT WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR EYES! THEY SAY IT WILL BURN, AND THEY MEAN IT!



The third step of the morning routine, which I believe in the repair lotion, is a gritty, sandpaper-feeling substance. In the beginning, it stung when I put it on because of its rough texture and the fact that my skin was sensitive due to the acne. However, once your skin begins to clear up, it won't bother you so much anymore. For a week or two, you just have to soldier on and deal with it. It is also possible that it will dry your skin out. What many reviewers don't understand, however, is that this is SUPPOSED to happen. That is how Benzoyl Peroxide and other acne medications work - they dry out the affected area to kill the bacteria and other impurities that cause acne. If you get mild dry skin, that means it is WORKING! If you hate the feeling of dry skin, however, use an oil free or low-oil moisturizer. It will make your skin softer while also not impeding the effect of the acne medication.



Overall, I recommend this product to anyone with moderate to severe acne. This is a very powerful system; to put it in perspective, ProActive and Clearasil have 3-4% Benzoyl Peroxide whereas this system uses 10%. It is a very powerful, potent system. Use it wisely, and don't be afraid to reduce how often you use it if it irritates your skin. Your skin will gradually become used to it and the burning or irritation will decrease. However, I sincerely must stress to not use this around your eyes - my skin had not become irritated with anything else before, and when I applied it around my eyes, it burned. I don't mean stung, I mean burned, where there were dark red circles around my eyes (they went away in about 2 days, but were tender to the touch).



Also, it's not exactly perfume - I notice a few reviewers gave it a bad review because it smelled bad. Yeah, it doesn't smell the best, but the smell wears off once the lotion has been absorbed into your skin. As long as you're more interested in losing acne than how it smells, it shouldn't bother you. AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System

I only started breaking out with acne in my early thirties. After trying the Loreal adult acne system for 2 months & Proactiv for 6 months with minimal results, I decided to give this a try. Yes, it made my skin very dry the first few weeks but I used a moisturizer over it kept using it and got fantastic results. I had the hard, large painful nodules on my face and this not only cleared them but I don't even break out anymore. One kit lasted me 6 months and my skin is soft & smooth. After the acne went it away, it did leave behind the black marks but Avon's skin brightener faded those out almost overnight. I highly recommend this product.

First off I want to explain that I have had terrible acne off and on (mostly on though) for the past 8 years. I had to be put on Accutane my sophmore year for 6 months in high school and then again my freshman year of college for another 3 months. I have been struggling ever since then and needed an alternative to dermatoligist bills and prescriptions for acne treatment.



I was having extremely painful and frequent breakouts in the later half of last year and in early November I happened to stumble upon this product. I had my doubts because I had already given Proactiv a couple of tries in the past.



The first week of using the 4 products in the package my face became EXTREMELY dry! At first I was worried because it would always be a little red and irritated for the first hour or two after going through the routine. However, within 4 days ALL of my blemishes (big and small) had cleared up! Within a couple of weeks my skin even became smoother, softer, and more even-toned. Trust me, if you have problem skin and want to try something new, this product is definitely worth a shot!



Also, I love that you can buy this in pretty much any Walgreens and Walmart so it's very convenient...no waiting for it to be delivered. I purhased mine at Walmart for $20-something in November 2006 and still have more than half remaining of each product in the pack.



Thank you University Medical for making an affordable product that actually works! Best of luck to all of you who are struggling with acne...and don't mark this one off your list!

Let me start this out by stating that I am in my 30's and have tried every acne product known to man for about 15 years. I have seen a dermatologist, resorted to birth control and used everything from neutrogena to murad, as well as proactiv. None of these worked for me, and most actually made my skin worse.



When you're in your 30's and are STILL dealing with acne, you start to wish for wrinkles, because who has wrinkles and acne, right?!?! I was starting to think I would be one of the few dealing with both, and that was a pretty depressing prospect.



I usually check out reviews on everything before I buy it, but when I saw this product at target, and saw that it was marketed specifically for severe acne, I bought it without knowing a thing about it (sidenote: this product was 21.99 there).



I know it sounds crazy, but I saw a difference in my skin the next day, after only applying it before I went to bed. Prior to purchasing this, I had just had a terrible experience with Burts Bees acne products, which had made my skin red, even more oily, and had produced terrible pre-pubescent breakouts along both sides of my chin. After one application of acne free, the redness was reduced significantly, and some of my more painfull bumps had gone down in size...which is huge.



I was ecstatic, but had experienced these results with other topical treatments, only to be let down a week or so later, when my skin would eventually return to its angry self. So I waited two weeks before sharing my review.



It is now three weeks after starting application, and my skin has honestly never been so clear. I still have a few bumps, but compared to what I was dealing with before, I'll take them. Because this is a benzoyl peroxide based product, after a few weeks my skin became really tight, and that led to a few minor bumps. I started using an oil free, fragrance free moisturizer (olay regenerist), and that cleared everything up.



My husband has remarked on how much brighter my skin looks, and I am over the moon. I have even gone to the grocery store without makeup (and not wanted to die of humiliation). If you have skin like mine, you know what a huge, amazing thing this is.



Prior to using acne free, I had small bumps, whiteheads, and periodic cystic bumps that were super painful. It may not have looked severe to other people, but it felt pretty darn severe to me after dealing with it for so long. I would absolutely, whole heartedly reccomend this product to anyone dealing with acne. Just invest in some great moisturizer if you have sensitive skin.'

I have used this mower once, for less than an hour. Part of that time was spent looking for a replacement bolt and washer after a front wheel fell off--it's Sunday and the hardware store is closed. Now I'm again looking for a bolt and washer, for a rear wheel this time. (On Mother's Day, all I ask is to be able get the lawn mowed before it rains!)



This review would have been enthusiastic instead of frustrated if it weren't for this problem. Except for the wheels, the mower seems sturdy so far.



Other unexpected downsides are that the charger can't be plugged in too long--I solved this one by attaching a timer that switches it off if I forget--and that it needs to be charged every thirty days all year round. Here, that means 6 months of charging it when not using it. I hope I'll remember to do that (including remembering to add it to my list of things to do before we go away in case the time is up while we're gone). Apparently the battery can be removed so it can be charged indoors (I haven't tried removing it yet.)



Otherwise, the mower is pretty cute, easy to assemble, runs and cuts well, sounds like a mower but not excruciatingly so, not too heavy for a small woman to push around. I liked it--and I hate mowers in general--until it started dropping wheels and bolts all over the lawn.



(The mower arrived with the wheels already on, I didn't put them on myself.) I tried again and ended up losing 3 bolts (2 original, one my replacement). I bought this mower to use as a trimmer It is very well made, handles very well & a good buy. EXCEPT !!!!! During my first usage the left front wheel fell off. I put it back on as tight as possible & started to mow again. The right front wheel fell off Same routine! The factory fastening method is faulty. I went to the hardware store & bought 4 bent lock washers. { very cheap }. Put the factory washer on the wheel fastening screw, then the bent lock washer & tighten it up. End of problem. Just picked this set up from Sam's Club for a great price. The display set in the store didn't do this set justice. Right out of the box this tv was easy to set up to my PC, Xbox 360 and my stereo all within 20mins (no dead pixels :]). The Hi-def picture quality is awesome. The graphics coming from the xbox are astounding, and it is the perfect size for a large PC screen. Fits perfectly in a bedroom, just about the largest TV I would want for a bedroom, any bigger and you'd be to close to the screen for optimum viewing.



I bought this set mainly to use as a bigger display than my 17" lcd on my laptop, and i was a little skeptical about the color temp and the resolution compared to a high-end computer monitor. As soon as i hooked up my laptop via the HDMI cable this screen blew my mind, the text is sharp, the color temp is spot on (has menu features to adjust) and the shear size makes editing photos in photoshop and lightroom a breeze. I'm a professional photographer and I am pretty picky when it comes to color and res and this set was exactly what I was looking for.

Bought this set just before black Friday from Target. Set up out of the box very easy, hooked it to my Verizon Fios, picture looked stunning. Noticed a weird problem that only happened a couple of times. When a non HD commercial would come on, the audio on the tv started to flutter, skip, and then go silent. The longer that I kept this set, the more frequent this started to occur. I was starting to get pretty frustrated with this and finally enlisted Vizio's help. The first thing they have me do is reset the factory default settings on the tv. This means turning off the features I bought the set for, ex: SRS TruSurround, and TruVolume. Ok, I'll play along, so I reset the tv and guess what? It didn't fix the problem, and now my tv sounds tinny and still has the fluttering and volume cut off situation. Frustrated, I hang up with Vizio and now a new problem arises, when some kind of graphic pops up on a show, the sound gets really loud and poof, the tv reboots its self. Now I've had it, called Vizio again, and they tell me they've haven;t had any other complaints like this one?!? ( I guess they don't read Amazon reviews, and now I wish I had seen the Amazon reviews before buying this set). I now make the decision to return the set back to Target, but first I still need a new TV. Just by dumb luck, I find an open box Samsung 40" 1080p set at Best Buy for the same $399 I just bought this Vizio 37". Long story short.... I'm happy with the Samsung and I can use all of the sound features without a hiccup.

I tried to leave this same review on Vizio's web site, but they still have not approved it.

There are a lot of bad volume reviews about this set and the E371VA, so be careful in your decision when purchasing.

The set was delivered quickly and was easy to set up. The picture quality was just ok, but the Toshiba I have in the other room has far superior picture quality. But what really sunk this unit for me was the sound quality - or lack of it. Sounds hollow and tinny, no matter how its adjusted. Certainly not the "superior audio" that was advertised. But Amazon was great! The unit is being returned without any hassle at all. They even paid for return shipping. Thanks, Amazon! I'll keep looking for a 37" with good sound. Likely a Toshiba.

This tv is well worth the money and is priced below Walmart's price, when I purchased it. The tv picture is very clear, also the audio is very clear. Vizio has come out with a good tv and it is priced just right. I would rate this tv as a 10 if I could.

I have had the VIZIO E370VA 37-inch Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV for 2 months now and for the price you cannot go wrong. You have to find the right picture and sound adjustments to allow your viewing experience to be the best possible. For me I have the picture on Wide Screen for most viewing especially Sports or Stretch, if I am watching a DVD. The sound is OK but you need to take the TruSound off if you don't want the sound to go up and down alot with commercials or changing channels, it can be annoying. I have the Surround Sound on and the TruSound off at all times and the sound is pretty good.

Overall, the price and picture are great. Alot of HDMI and other ports for connecting multiple electronics. The Sound is pretty good after the adjustments mentioned above.

TV still works great and bought a little Panasonic Sound System to go with it.

I truly recomend this TV, it has great picture quality and sound quality, most TVs have bad sound, not this one.

It has plenty a connection ports for DVD players, video games and DVRs.

I recomend this TV.

First off, my wife and I bought this TV during Black Friday 2010. It's now July 2011 and we've been using it ever since. I think for a product to get a fair review, you need to put some mileage on it. So, after about eight months of usage, here's what we've seen:



Pros:

+ Great picture: Images are sharp, and there's no discernable lag from my gaming systems. DVDs show beautifully on this set.



+ User-friendly: The ports are all easily accessible and the remote is easy-to-use and straightforward. Switching between inputs is fast and easy. Additionally, this TV remembers volume levels for various inputs, so as you switch between cable (volume level 11 of 100 for us) to AV or HDMI outputs (volume level 25 of 100 for us) you're not constantly fiddling with the volume control. Finally, the TV is lightweight, so it can be moved or mounted easily.



+ Cost: For the value of this TV, the set is reasonably priced; it competes well with other sets of its size and quality.



Cons:

- Sound: The biggest flaw in this TV is the sound. The SRS TruVolume feature seems to do exactly the opposite of what it purports. It claims that it balances out the sounds of softer TV shows with louder commercials, giving you a more even, predictable volume. We found that when SRS was on, we got ridiculously loud commercials and quiet TV programs. Disabling this helped reduce some of that fluctuation, but on the whole, the volume still needs to be frequently adjusted. This problem is much worse when listening to DVDs. For instance, we recently acquired the BBC's Robin Hood series from Amazon. As we watched season one, we probably altered the volume 6-7 unique times per 45-minute program. After changing the volume settings through the TV to practically every possible combination in an attempt to fix it, we finally gave up and used external speakers, which fixed the problem.



- Remote sensor: The remote sensor is located on the bottom left of the TV. Occasionally, a couch or a game controller will be blocking the senor. Not a huge deal, but with even minimal blocking, the sensor won't acknowledge the remote. You can usually maneuver the remote around to reach the sensor. Depending on your setup, you might find this more annoying than we did; it was only a minor inconvenience for us.



- Power: This last problem has only started occurring in the last month or so, and has only happened 3-4 times, but it's enough to concern me. Occasionally, when powering on the TV, the Vizio logo lights up (acknowledging the power is on) but the screen stays black. Sound comes through, but no picture. Powering off and powering on the TV again fixes the problem in every instance we've occurred, but I can't help but wonder if this might foreshadow more problems.



Overall:

Ultimately, this TV does what we want it to do. It has a great picture and is easy to use -- perfect for newlyweds on a budget. For this price, I can't complain. I am very impressed with this set. First of all, Shrinky Dinks are just as awesome as I remember them being 25 years ago. Although they are even more fun now, playing with them with your own kids and watching my 3 year old looking through the window of the oven as they begin to shrink. We played with them together for almost 2 hours!!! The kit comes with everything, right down to the hole puncher needed to make the dinks into necklaces etc. Everything is right there. I LOVE this shrinky dink kit. I have purchased/am purchasing it for every girls' birthday this year. My 5-yr old really likes to color the patterns in and then watch them shrink in the oven. I also like the accompanying supplies to make necklaces, barrettes, keychains, gift tags, etc. It's a great value for the price. If you have a child that enjoys arts and crafts, put this at the top of your list. All gift recipients (5 yr olds) have told me that it is their favorite thing to make.



One thing that I must stress is follow the instructions EXACTLY! Preheat your cookie sheet in the oven. Use babypowder on the foil. Watch the shrink dinks shrink. Do not use a toaster oven; you will not get the best results. I know this as a friend of mine used a toaster oven and didn't follow the rest of the instructions - the shrinky dinks didn't turn out very well.

Shrinky Dinks are awesome especially when you're stuck inside. We used them when family was over with a 8, 9, 15 and 4 year old everybody had lots of fun. My 4 year old needed a little help cutting the design out but other than that she was able to really enjoy this toy.

If you don't know what shrinky dinks are let me tell you how they work. First, you pick one of many designs out of the box and cut it out of the sheet. Next, you color it. Then, you stick them in the oven and watch them shrink, (this was everybody's favorite part)it only takes a few minutes. When your design comes out of the oven it's tiny a little thicker and shiny. You can use it for a charm on a bracelet or necklace or glue it to a hair clip etc. There are ample supplies in the box to make to make any of the afore mentioned items.

The perfect rainy day activity....crafty & fun but not too messy. Lots of different projects in 1 kit good for a playdate too. My 5 year old daughter & 10 year old neice spent several hours crafting together. It is really neat to watch them shrink...they do shrink very quickly. Read all the instructions as there are some good tips to avoid problems like curling or sticking together. Makes a nice gift too.

I bought this for a Christmas present for my 7 year old daughter. The coloring part was like any coloring, but small spaces, so not recommended for really small children to color. I cut out the designs because of the size was hard for her to handle. When she was cutting, the material would "rip" a little more. It does come with everything you need: hole punch, thread, jewelry, colored pencils, pencil sharpener. You'll need scissors.

I bought this for my six year old as a birthday present. She is into making things and she keeps asking to do more shrinky dinks. She loves the coloring and punching a hole and has made the charm bracelet so far. We'll be looking for some extra plastic pieces to make soon, but for now this is a good buy and she is having a ball making things and watching it shrink in the oven. She even demonstrates what they do when they shrink by laying on the floor and curling up and then getting flat again. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an easy fun craft.

This toy is great... but has a key design error... They are not including any blank Shrinky sheet !!! What if the kids are a bit older and want to make their own designs instead of just coloring the ones supplied ? They should have included at least 2 blank sheets... - Kids - Kid Crafts - Craft - Craft Kits'
