This was my first Women's Health workout DVD I've used. I also ordered Train for Your Body Type and The Wedding Workout, but haven't used them yet. I decided to give this one a go first, since the split up workouts seemed promising since I have limited time to workout. Boy, was I glad I did! This is an EXCELLENT DVD. First off, you can either do one section for concentrated training, or you can do all the sections and get a total (and I mean total!) body workout.



First off the cardio section was amazing. It was hard, but it was also fun and Amy Dixon is a great instructor. She had me begging for mercy about 4-5 minutes in, but she encouraged me to "keep going, it's only 10 minutes!"



The lower body section clocked in at just under 8 minutes, but you WILL feel it. Amy has you doing a series of lunges, curtsey lunges, and deadlifts with lunges. VERY effective and the pace moves quickly and the moves are compact. Right off, you can feel the muscles you're working.



The upper body section was UNBELIEVABLE. I was dying--in a good way. And the day after I was sore. She does a bunch of great variations on the usual shoulder exercises, bicep curls, triceps and an awesome pushup variation that I love and you won't dread doing, yet is effective as well.



The flexibility workout is great as well, and Amy reminds you that this is not a wasted workout--you're still burning calories, which was encouraging as well.



All in all, this was a great DVD that I probably won't use everyday but I will use when I want a total body workout in less than 40 mins., or on days when I want to concentrate on certain areas of the body. I've never heard of Amy Dixon before but now that I have, I will definitely be buying more of her DVDs. Her cueing is great, she's funny and makes come comical remarks and is not overly peppy or obnoxious.



Great DVD, if you buy it, you WILL be using it again and again! Women's Health: Total Workout in Ten!

This is the second workout of Women's Health that I own. I'm equally as impressed with this as their other new workout, Ultimate Fat Burn. Amy Dixon is a fantastic instructor and she's fast becoming a favourite of mine.

You get a mix in here - cardio, toning and work for flexibility and balance. You always know what's coming up because Amy cues so well. She's encouraging and motivating. The aerbics isn't too dancy and fancy but it does get your heart rate up and that helps burn fat. Then there is upper toning and lower toning, both of which target lots of muscles in different ways (by changing your body angle, you work more muscles). The stretching at the end is what helps your balance and flexibility and it's relaxing yet fun. All you need are some dumbbells and for a bonus workout, you get a stability ball segment so you should have one of those on hand too.

It's not too hard to do, and it's fun yet effective and I'm so impressed that I'm buying these as birthday and holiday gifts for my friends. I think everyone will find this as enjoying as I do, and if you stick with it, the results will come for sure.

This is the third Women's Health workout DVD I've borrowed from the library. I have to say, I wasn't too impressed with either The Wedding Workout or Train for Your Body Type, but I loved this DVD. I'm definitely going to buy this one, and will probably throw in her other Women's Health DVD, Ultimate Fat Burn, as well.



Amy Dixon is a great instructor who cues well and is encouraging without being annoying. Plus, it's a really great workout! I did all 4 10-minute segments together, and it was a really well rounded routine. I'm definitely a bit sore today (especially in the shoulders!). My favorite segment is probably the balance/flexibility cooldown at the end--it's very relaxing with some great yoga/pilates-inspired movements. What a great way to end a workout!



I'd definitely recommend trying this out, even if you weren't a fan of the other Women's Health DVDs.

I guess I am the first to give this video anything but 5 stars. I am in my mid-forties. I haven't been working out for a few years and purchased about four videos to try to develop a healthy workout pattern. I've been going for three weeks and this video has not been my favorite. It may be that my fitness level doesn't allow for the intensity. I have really enjoyed the Leslie Sansone's Eat Smart, Walk Strong : The Secrets to Effortless Weight Loss and 10 Minute Solution: Tone Trouble Zonesmuch more than this video. If you are beginner, you might want to try one of the other videos first.

I finally received my DVD's based on a recommendation by a friend, and I am SO happy that I did. These new Women's Health workouts are so far superior to anything else I have, it's ridiculous. The star Amy Dixon has more energy than anyone I've ever seen. Seriously. It must be a redhead thing. I couldn't recommend them enough.



I would definitely say you should get both of these tapes to mix it up a bit, but for anyone just deciding between the two, here's a word of advice based on my initial testing... The Ten Minute one is definitely for everyone. It's amazing because who can't workout for ten minutes? And there's four different ones. But the Ultimate Fat Burn, while personally is my favorite, is definitely a little harder of a workout. If you're just a beginner, it may be a little difficult for you. But like I said before, I'd get them both. Slow days? Ten Minute Workout. Harder Days? Ultimate Fat Burn.



I hope this helps. They really are amazing tapes. I hope they make more. The look of them is really different than anything I've seen. It's not just in an empty room. It really helps.

This video is fabulous. I've done it 3 times per week for 4 weeks and I already feel more toned and more energetic. You don't need any special equipment, just roughly 50-60 square feet of carpeted space and two 3 pound weights. In just over 40 minutes, you get a wonderful, comprehensive workout. Amy Dixon is very likeable. She is encouraging and enthusiastic without being overly bubbly and sweet. The five women who join her on the video are fit, but clearly women who have real lives apart from working out and worrying about their abs. The workout has four segments that you can do separately, or you can do all four in a row for a comprehensive workout. The first segment is a fast paced cardio workout. The second focuses on lower body. The third focuses on upper body. And the fourth is a combination of yoga and ballet moves that improve balance and flexibility and provide a cool down. Many of the exercises throughout the workout also do agreat job on abs and waist. I love doing all four segments in a row. Everything is set to a simple dance beat, so it's easy to keep with the pace. Many of the moves are downright fun. A few were a bit challenging the first time, but they are easy to learn after a few times through. One of the women on the video does modified versions of some of the moves that require a bit extra strength, balance or flexibility. I am in my mid-40s, a mom, and a full time professional. So I can't commit to long workouts at pre-set times. I was thrilled to find an at-home workout that gets my heart rate up for 40 minutes, works on all the muscles in my body and is (amazingly!) so fun that I look forward to it. Thank you Amy Dixon and Women's Health.



NOTE 5 MONTHS LATER: After a few weeks, I only had time to workout on Saturday and Sunday mornings. But that was enough. I lost 9 pounds without eating differently, though I look as though I lost more because I replaced fat with muscle. I dropped a full dress size. When I was in the process of shopping around for a backup drill to my Makita 14.4V cordless (an EXCELLENT product, by the way: over 350 lbs of torque for under 100 bucks ), a friend who owned one of these refurbished Ryobi models lent me his for a day and I was quite taken with it, as it had more torque (it feels like 100 lbs or so, which is more or less the amount of force a handyman can generate turning a screwdriver by hand) than I had expected it to & the trigger's response was very good (i.e. it wasn't so sensitive to pressure as to make it difficult to quickly find the precise RPM speed at which you wanted the bit to turn). Of course, I was even more impressed when I was informed of its price. Indeed, considering that you get TWO batteries - whereas most reputable brands provide their inexpensive models with only ONE battery - and considering what the cost would be if one had to BUY a second battery (so that you'll always have one charged up & ready to go whenever you suddenly & unexpectedly need to use your drill), thirty bucks for this set is quite a good deal.



I have now had my (own) factory-reconditioned Ryobi for two months and it & the batteries have held up well (well, maybe the charge could last longer, but, then again, this product wasn't intended for non-stop, tradesperson-like usage). As for the fact that it's refurbished, well, who cares? The drill still comes with a one year warranty & it's better to have a factory-reconditioned name brand drill than a new piece of crap, like an AllPro or Turbo Shop model.



A couple of tips: 1) as this drill produces only about 100 lbs of torque, you should get yourself a good set of drill bits (which would be the case with any drill that one purchased - I suggest cobalt bits or at least titanium ones; while you're at it, you should also purchase bits for removing damaged screws, something that you probably won't have to use very often, but are nevertheless very handy to have in a pinch) and drill pilot holes before driving in screws; and 2) even reputable brands provide cheap carrying cases for their low to moderate-priced cordless drills i.e. they shod them with thin, flimsy, plastic snap-closures and, instead of actual hinges, hold the two sides of the case together with a thin, strip of flexible plastic, both of which break through repeated use A LOT faster that one would think, so I recommend that you apply a flexible plastic adhesive to the closure snaps & attach hinges to the bottom of the case (after first cutting off and sanding down the aforementioned flexible plastic strip) so as to prolong the life of the carrying case. Factory-Reconditioned Ryobi HP412K 12-Volt Cordless Drill/Driver

This is a good choice if you like to charge batteries. Every time I want to do a job, I find that the batteries have discharged since the last time I worked, and so I have to wait for who knows how long (since the charger does not indicate when the battery is fully charged, it's just guessing) until I can in fact do the job. Which is always a great pleasure (not) when you have gotten everything lined up to do the job.

Ryobi makes an ok drill but the batteries are so bad it's a joke. I had two of these drills, one where the batteries work but held a charge for less than one would expect, and one where the batteries NEVER charged! Low quality control. I now have Bosch drills and batteries that work.

I spent about a year researching drills before purchasing this one. (OK--I'm slow, but I hate making a bad purchase.) I was hoping for a Makita but found this one for about $20 off on sale and decided to just get it. I like every bit as much as the Makita drills I have used. I do a lot of art work that requires drilling and this stands up to many tasks very well. Have not tried using it on metal or brick yet but it works well on all types of woods, dry wall, etc. Would definitely recommend.

I had an older Ryobi drill that I LOVED and used on everything for many years. I'm a home, fixer upper, not a contractor or certified anything. I went through a few batts and chargers, and finally, had to buy their new versions, because they didn't make batteries that would fit the older models.



Well, the newer batteries completely suck. You CANNOT charge a batt, and stick it in the box, and expect it to get you through a job a few weeks later. I had two fully charged batteries sitting in the case for about three weeks, and I couldn't drill through a single piece of thin (2-3mm) metal going through both batts. Totally unacceptable. 3 months, fine, batts lose charge, everyone knows. 3 weeks? Not good enough. Due to this, I have to keep a batt in the charger at all times. Period. It sucks, and isn't typical of the quality I came to expect with this brand.



If this was a store-brand, it would probably get 3-4 stars. Since it's ryobi, and due to the cost, it get's two stars.





If you buy one of these, you'll probably get the model that I returned.

What a deal! I was going to buy a new battery for my old 9.6V drill and when I found out I could buy a 12 volt complete system for less money than a new 9.6V costs I was blown away. This is a great little drill with all the power I needed for most of the jobs I do in my shop and home. Razor Sweet Pea E 100

I purchased this for my 8 year old. This has been a joy of his for quite a few months. It runs well, peppy and the battery seems to hold up for a very long riding period. He has had times in excess of 1 hr. riding around the house and driveway.

The only thing which is minor that annoys me is that when you corner very sharply the chain protector drags the pavement. No damage is done but it seems this part of the scooter should be higher off the ground.

Overly recommended for children of appropriate ages. Get your child one, they and you will not regret it. Razor E100 Electric Scooter (Sweet Pea)

Here's my experience with this scooter: I bought it for my 8 yo daughter. It worked for exactly 1 minute and then the motor wouldn't turn anymore. The box says "Don't return to the store. Call the manufacturer and we'll take care of you". So I called Razor. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She concluded "It's very common, the battery died because these things sit on the shelf too long, I'll send you new batteries." Two weeks later, the batteries arrived. It was not a trivial task to replace them. You have to disassemble the entire deck of the scooter and induced wear and tear on the screws and mounts. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the second time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it's the wiring assembly to the batteries that's faulty. I will send you a new wiring kit." Two weeks later, the kit arrived. The same painful procedure to disassemble the scooter and install the wiring kit. More wear and tear on the screws. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the third time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it's the fuse assembly that's faulty. I will send you a new one." Two weeks later, the fuse arrived. The same painful procedure to disassemble the scooter and install the fuse. More wear and tear on the screws. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. Called Razor for the fourth time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now concluded "Oh, it must be the battery charger. I will send you a new one." Two weeks later, the new charger arrived. Charged it back up and guess what - NO GO. By now, I was convinced that the motor is fried and there's no fixing that. Called Razor for the fifth time. The customer service lady had me go through the motion of "troubleshooting" the problem. She now got all upset like it's my problem that nothing has worked. She suggested I take it to a lawn & garden shop to have a technician "look at it" at my expense. So here's the moral of the story: Razor will play the "parts game" with you to death until your return deadline with Amazon runs out. So, if your scooter doesn't work, send it back to Amazon ASAP. Do not pass GO and absolutely do not call Razor or your're SCREWED!!!

I bought an E100 from Amazon for my 7-year-old son about 45 days ago. I can tell you that only rain and wet roads have prevented him from riding it daily!



At first, my wife and I questioned my judgment in buying it for him. The first time he got on it, he lost control of it had a bad-looking crash. He hopped up unharmed though, so we gave him some time to learn. Every day since then, I have found him being diligent to charge it and eager to ride it.



So, here's my list of pros and cons.



Pros:

1. The battery lasts a good hour of uphill/downhill riding.

2. The large, pneumatic tire up front makes quick work of bumps and rocks.

3. The wide standing surface allows for his feet to be together, side-by-side, if he wants.

4. The scooter is sturdy and solid.

5. The handlebars and shaft can be separated from the body for transport.

6. It's quick enough for fun, but not so fast as to be dangerous.

7. It ships in two pieces: Handlbars/shaft assembly and the main body. Attaching the two pieces is all the assembling that's necessary.



Cons:

1. The brake is insufficient. It will eventually stop the scooter, but don't let your kid(s) rely on it. Teach them to steer out of situations and release the throttle. It will not stop my 9-year-old (65 lbs) son when he's rolling down our slightly sloped driveway. Of course, the effectiveness of the brake is directly proportional to the strength of the rider's grip, but the gripping power of kids in this age group is probably less than what this scooter-brake combo needs.

2. The rear wheel is like one on a regular Razor scooter - solid and slick. This works well on most dry surfaces, but be careful because it can and will slide in more situations than a grooved, rubber tire would.

3. The drive chain attaches on right side of the back wheel, and it has a cover over it. That sounds like it should be a good thing, but the cover is actually so large that it prevents most right turns. If you turn more than just a little to the right, the cover will make contact with the road, and the back wheel will lose contact with the road.



Notes:

1. There is an on/off switch on the battery.

2. The motor engages after the scooter reaches 3 mph.

3. The manual recommends charging the scooter for 12-18 hrs.

4. The scooter is heavy enough to render it useless without the motor. Don't expect that your kid will continue to use it as a push scooter when the battery dies.

5. The scooter did NOT ship in plain packaging. It shipped in just the scooter box. It was for my son's birthday, and the surprise was nearly spoiled when delivery came.



Summary:



This scooter is a good buy for the money, and so long as you are aware of the issues that come with it, it will make for a fun toy. My son still tells me that this scooter is the best present he has ever received! If you have the money to get the 200 or 300, I would recommend doing so as long as you're comfortable with the increased speed/power.'

My boy loves this cover and wishes it came in other colors. I bought him an assortment of these Book Sox and he likes them all, but this is his favorite.





I have my doubts that it will last for the entire school year (it's a bit thin),but he's had it for 3 months now on his biggest (history) book, and neither the cover or the book is showing signs of wear and tear. He also claims he gets comments on it all the time. The picture, I guess, just doesn't do it justice. It's also easy to "install" and these covers stretch to fit a variety of differently sized books.

It's very durable and washable which is very nice. It seems to keep it's shape and color holds well. no problems with it. Cleansing Wipes - makeup remover, cloths

I would not use anything else after using these for 3 months now. Very effective at makeup removal, balancing for combination skin (really good on oily areas without overdrying). Also help to minimize mild rosacea, it's not completely gone but visibly faded - something I couldn't achieve with pricier brands. All in all freat value and solid product. Added bonus - if you travel these can be taken along in your carry on, not screened out as liquids. Ponds Orginal Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes, 30-Count (Pack of 4)

The Pond's clean sweep make up removers are great. I tried to switch to a cheaper brand and broke out immediately. The price is very reasonable when ordered from Amazon.com. I keep them next to my bed and in the bathroom making it very easy to wash the make up off before bed. Also, great for camping as it does not need water. I have very sensitive skin and these have not given me any problems and does not have an over perfumed smell like some products. I highly recommend them.

I recently tried the Ponds Clean Sweep Wet Cleansing Towelettes. I like the convenience of cleansing towelettes but I was disappointed with the Ponds Clean Sweep towelettes.



The Ponds have a stinky smell to them instead of a clean or pleasant smell. They are also a little too dry to be a wet cleansing towelette. They claim it removes all makeup, even waterproof mascara but after I used the towelette I still had traces of makeup left on my face. I had to use another cleanser to remove all my makeup which kind of defeats the purpose of a convenient towelette.



I do not recommend the Ponds towelettes. There are much better and cheaper ways to clean your face.

Ponds cleansing towelettes are the best makeup remover and facial cleanser I've ever used. I've tried Neutrogena and drug store brands and they were either never wet enough or left my face feeling greasy. With Ponds, it gets all my makeup off (even waterproof!) and does not give me a greasy or oily feeling afterward. I honestly don't really even have to rinse off with water after use. Also, the towelettes are a great price for how good they are. Highly recommended!

I'm one of those busy moms who often lets her own needs fall by the wayside in favor of the needs of my family. Sleep is a luxury I can't afford to induldge in as much as I want to so sometimes other stuff has to give for the sake of my health and sanity. After a few months of misery living with a newborn who did not get the concepts of day and night I had to start finding ways to help myself perk up in the morning. Coffee is great but one of my favorite parts of getting up after being well rested is getting washed up, putting on make-up... ya know... all that stuff that makes YOU feel human. But with a baby who needed feeding and diaper change and all that stuff there was simply no time so I bought some of the Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes, Morning Refresh, 30-Count (Pack of 2) to at least give me a clean face I could pull off while holding the baby. I LOVE them!



After enjoying those for months now I decided to give the original cleansing clothes a try, mostly for mornings when I have to rush out, for post-gym and for make-up removal at bedtime. My skin is really sensitive and I recently found out I have mild rosacea so I've been watching what I use a little more carefully. These feel great, they're very moist, I live in a very dry and windy climate and haven't noticed any increased dryness even though these do contain alcohol. Overall I've been really pleased. I've had no trouble removing mascara easily (with no eye irritation) but I don't care for waterproof formulas so I cannot speak for the quality there.



While I don't intend to use them everyday I really like the convinience and quality of this product for those times when a sink and time for a good washing just aren't available.

I found these for less than the generic brand that I was going to buy. I was using Boots face wipes for a while and was looking for a less expensive alternative.



I found these and was elated (they were even on sale!) At first I was concerned that they were too 'wet' and left too much on my face. It evaporated quickly and didn't make my skin feel dry.



These are excellent at removing powder, foundation and lipstick. Although I had no problem with ordinary mascara, it wasn't all that great with waterproof. (Although to be honest, I have never found anything but specific eye makeup remover to do that well).



These are refreshing, easy to use and stay moist in the package.

I love this product & have been using it for a couple of years, sure comes in handy while traveling, you don't have to rinse it off. Great at night when you are just too tired or busy to do the usual routine & my skin looks good.

OK, first off I purchased this because it claims to be the "best" make-up remover towelettes and removing impurities. UMMM...disappointed in this. Makes me not want to buy any other brand towelette either. I had makeup still left on my face and my regular mascara didn't completely come off.

I usually use another brand of make up removing wipes and am pretty well satisfied, but I saw these at the drug store and decided to try them because they were cheaper and claimed to work better than the brand I use. Not so. They wipes are too dry and they don't work well for removing eye make up. Raymond Bial attempts a monumental task- tracing the history of ghost towns in a children's book. He does not succeed. The book is populated with some lovely color photography of a couple of ghost towns in the American west. The text is easy to read, better for children eight and up. Quoting Mark Twain is always a surefire way to endear an author to this reader, and Bial does this on a couple of occasions. According to the book, Twain once wrote of Virginia City, Nevada: "If a man wanted a fight on his hands without any annoying delay, all he had to do was to appear in public in a white shirt or stove-pipe hat, and he would be accomodated." The book fails in its one main objective- a history of ghost towns. Bial uses so many generalities, but few examples, that some kids might feel like they are being talked down to, especially considering the book's bold title. Bial also glosses over the violence of the west, sugar coating Billy the Kid, and the gunfight at the OK Corral. Instead, Bial writes of phantoms roaming the abandoned sites, as if everyone should take the term "ghost town" literally, and murder and mayhem is swept under the rug. No, I do not think your kids need to see crime scene photos, but ignoring the violent past would give children a false sense of what many people went through back then. We do learn life was rough, and death comes quickly, but I found the book to be just as dry and empty as the towns Bial attempts to describe. The photographs are nice, until further reading in the credits indicate that only a couple of places were photographed, ghost towns that are now tourist destinations. The book is under fifty pages, maybe Bial should have concentrated his subject to in-depth profiles of a couple of ghost towns, instead of jumping from the Gold Rush of 1849 to George Custer to Wild Bill Hickok, without any chance to put these historical events and figures in context. Women and children are mentioned, but kids may have been able to associate more with the book if children's lives in these towns one hundred years ago had been explored. Bial claims there are tens of thousands of ghost towns spread across all fifty states, yet he only mentions a few in passing. "Ghost Towns of the American West" is a very average children's book. Kids interested in history or cowboys might be better off finding another source. Raymond Bial tries to put too much in, not realizing he never comes up with enough. "Ghost Towns of the American West" is an introduction to the ghost town experience. Raymond Bial effectively communicates the history and mystique of these testaments to American tenacity. He explains how many of these towns are remnants of the boom and bust economics of the early West. Like Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane, some of the famous Western characters are discussed. The violence of such towns is well documented. Without being melodramatic, the eerie quality of the ghost town is described. As would be expected from a book for young readers, brothels are omitted. It is the illustrations that make this book stand out. The poetic photographs are eye candy. A couple of historical images are shown, but most of the photos portray modern day ghost towns through a nostalgic filter. The verso indicates that most of the shots are from Arizona's Goldfield, Apacheland and Old Tuscon ghost towns. The text is good for readers of at least a fourth grade reading level. While "Ghost Towns" has fifty pages, the text is relatively brief given the large and lush use of photographs. With humor, drama and historical authenticity, Raymond Bail effectively captured the essence of the American ghost town.'

I can't comment on the battery life yet, but will when my ADT Security key fobs die again. The Duracells lasted 6 months before having limited range, and then another 2 months before croaking altogether. The thing that suprised me was that they both died at the same time, in spite of one getting used much more than the other.



Wish there was a longer life equivalent, such as a lithium, but I have been unable to find one.

Just hit 10 months and the key fobs are still going strong. Looks like battery life is much better than the Duracell!

I originally went looking at local stores for the A23 Lithium batteries and found them much more expensive. I found these cheapest at Amazon & they work great for my garage door openers. I just wish there was a rechargeable version & recharger.

I bought these batteries for the button cells inside. Those normally sell for $3-5 a piece. And inside each of these 12Vs are 8 button cell batteries (watch batteries).



So do the math.

Average button cell price: $4.00

Number of button cells inside: 16 (total)

Total savings: $64.00 - $3.15 = $60.85

My garage remote opener battery died about a week ago, so I decided to go to the local megastore to get a new one. I didn't bother checking the details of my battery's characteristics, assuming that a "short skinny battery" would be all I needed to remember. I found a couple of batteries that more or less looked like my garage door's battery so I bought them, only to discover that they were the wrong kind. I went back to the store, this time bringing my battery with me, only to discover that they did not carry this particular kind. That's when I decided to look for it on Amazon. I found the exact battery that I used thus far - Duracell A21/23, but then I also came across these Energizer A23s. They were somewhat cheaper, but I was not sure if A23 is exactly the same as A21/23. The batteries were pretty cheap though, so I decided to give it a try. I am happy to report that they fit into my remote opener perfectly and they worked without a hitch from the get go. I am so glad that I don't have to call home from my cell phone while driving any more, asking my wife to open the garage door for me!



I liked the fact that there were no shipping charges for these batteries. They seem to last for at least four to five years with my level of usage, but I decided to get an extra pair just in case. In case that they run out of power uncharacteristically early, I will write an update to this review.

I bought this on this site as they used to be hard to find in stores. After waiting ages for them to arrive i found them in the local supermarket for $2.99, so they are now vastly overpriced here.
