Single Automatic Watch Winder

I needed a single automatic watch winder and didn't want to spend a lot. This fit the bill in that regard. However, it's performance is inconsistent. I have to fiddle with the plug every time I put the watch in it to make sure it runs. If I don't, there's a good chance it's not going to work right. I would spend a little more and get a different automatic watch winder unless you like having to remember to play with the plug every day. Burgundy color single automatic watch winder.

I got this to keep my Rolex wound when I went on vacation. I have a knock-around watch I use when I am out of the country and I know it is bad to let a self-winding watch stop as the oil pools and other bad things can happen.

I was a little concerned because it was so cheap, but when I got it and tried it out it was perfect. They do recommend getting a power timer and having it only run 4 hours a day to keep it from overwinding . . . since one of those outlet times are less than $5, not a big deal. To get one that was completely automatic would have cost 3 times what this one does.

It is completely silent, so you could have it in your bedroom. It only goes one direction, either clock-wise or counter. I consulted with my Rolex expert and he said either would work . . . also said that it was impossible to overwind any Rolex made after 1972 as they put in a safety system that stops it from winding more than the spring can take.

This is a good buy.

I have had this so called watch winder for about 3 weeks now and I have to say it is a piece of junk. I have tried to put the watch in the winder at night before I go to bed, I've tried to leave it in the winder for a week at a time and no matter which way I do it the watch is never wound enough for the watch to continue running more then a few hours. I still have to hand shake the watch 100 to 200 times for it to continue running. I guess the old adage is correct "you get what you pay for". Do not buy this product, you'll be sorry.

Signed,

Extremely Unhappy!!

I have a Seiko kinetic watch. It had completed decharged because I had no worn it for months and I didn't realize that my old winder had quit working. After wearing it for one day it had built up a 'five' second charge (by this I mean when the test button was pushed the second hand move five seconds). After two days in this winder it was nearly discharged as indicated by the second hand doing two second jumps.

DO NOT BUY THIS WINDER if you own a Seiko Kinetic watch. IT DOES NOT WORK! Worse, it does not say this in the description.

For those who can use the winder please be aware that it does not have MULTI-settings... it has one switch with clockwise, counter-clockwise and off positions. That to my mind is TWO setting and TWO does not equal MULTI.

I chose this watch winder because it was the cheapest I could find. You get what you pay for. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I find that I have to keep unplugging it and then plugging it back in to get it to work. In retrospect, I think I should have spent a little more on a nicer, more reliable model. If you haven't figured it out from my review so far, you should pass on this item.

I purchased a couple of these several months ago. One continues to run but the other recently stopped working. Switched power supplies but it didn't help. It's getting power just no longer works. It's a cheap product so that's why it doesn't cost much. I'm not sure if I recommend it or not. Obviously, you're taking a chance. Had I known I would have spent $60 on a better quality winder. Hindsight is 20-20.

This is the first winder I have purchased and I did not want to spend a lot of money. The winder is nice looking although it is plastic. It serves it's purpose well. It is easy to use and does a nice job keep my automatic running when I am not wearing. For the price I paid it is hard to beat.

I've been using this winder for the past month and thus far it has performed well. It is very quiet and runs 1 hour on and 3 hours off cycles that have kept my automatics watches wound and ready to go. Unit arrived quickly and well packaged. Only time will tell about overall durability but at this point it is a keeper.'
