I am thirteen days into this devotional. It is excellent and I am truly inspired to stay with it and can feel an improvement in my relationship with our Father each time that I read and pray the day's devotional. I have started many devotional books over the years, but this is the only one that I will likely read all year and maybe again next year. It is truly inspired! This book puts the christian life in perspective. It is open and honest and shows that God's ways are not always our ways. Joni, has opened her heart to show how God brings good from trials and tribulations. It is an awesome devotional tool. I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially to those who have or are going through tough times.
I have been reading this devotional every day for nearly a year now. It has helped me very much. Joni is honest about her disability and the way God has worked in her life since her accident. There are stories about other people and events as well. I highly recommend it.

I was at the World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia when her book won this prestigious award. I was blessed to even be counted as one of the finalists along with Joni in the devotional category. Joni's faith has been an inspiration to multitudes and the Lord has used her in a very special way. I cannot imagine the suffering she must have experienced learning to accept God's will for her disability. I do hope you read her book. She is very deserving of this award.

Pearls of Great Price is packed to the brim with worship, encouragement, integrity, honesty, transparency, and wisdom from someone who has had more than her share of trials. These are not bromides issued from a theological ivory tower but heartfelt pearls of experience from someone who has required monumental faith and joy just to face every day for the past 40 years. Joni's compassion and patience are combined with uncompromising faithfulness to scripture.

Her examples of living for Christ in difficult days are practical and so meaningful. I have enjoyed this book so much that I have ordered 4 more for gifts for friends who have considered it to be a blessing in their lives as well. I highly recommend this devotional!
We were given this book as a gift in late 2008 and my wife and I used it for daily devotionals in 2009. We found the book such a blessing to us that we purchased another copy as a gift for a friend. I highly recommend the book. Joni's devotionals are challenging, poignant and thought provoking.'
