Outdoor Table - table, furniture

Everything went to gether well on this and the the chairs and chaise lounges. Despite all the complaints I saw on the items before purchasing, these really have proven to be good quality items at great prices. Easy to assemble. My 3 year old little girl helped so it took about an hour longer but we put together 4 chairs, 2 chaises, and the coffee table in about 3 hours. The chaise lounges were very nicely made. That was our favorite itemStrathwood Hardwood Chaise LoungeStrathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood Coffee Table Strathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood Coffee Table

went through three of these and all had large cracks/broken slats. we're done and also going to return the two chairs that go with this set. the two seat bench with cushions that complete the set finally arrived today after being back ordered and it was cracked. good luck to you. what a pain and very frustrating.

I bought a complete eight peace sectional seating & this table for my patio. This furniture & Table are everything I was wanting, low cost, good quality and good style. The cushions are very nice and comfortable. The parts are some what time consuming to assemble, but it's not bad. I would recommend a ratchet alien wrench not the provided alien wrench; it will kill your fingers. I would recommend this sectional seating to anyone. I just now need to get some nice pillows for it and it will be complete. 100 % HAPPY

I ordered this coffee table together with a pair of armchairs and a double seat bench 10 days ago, and until

now I received two chairs in good shape, but in a separate shipment, two coffee tables, both damaged due to the improper packaging : one with 3 or 4 wooden stripes on the table top broken and the other with an 6 inch crack on the surface. I've asked for return twice but didn't get any response. Now I am still waiting for the third item the bench which will arrive after 3/18/2011. Well, I am a long time Amazon buyer, and this is something new that I seldom experienced. Hope I can get help soon! Thanks.

I have this table and two of their benches on my roof deck. They look pretty good and are durable enough that they can be left outside. After 1 season, there's no fading. I'm very satisfied with the table.

I just received my coffee table and put it together under indoor light. I then took it outside and saw a 7-inch crack in the top, significant enough to allow 4 slats to move freely side to side. I decided to glue the cracked portion back together rather than hassle with a return. But for this defect, this table would be a five star.

I bought the whole set (2 chairs table and love seat) I love the look of it. It was the best price I could find for anything like this. Over all I'm happy with it, but there was some issues (You get what you pay for) Every piece had at least one issue with the hardware or milling. The table was the easiest and had the least problems out of everything.

I never checked the measurements before I bought it and was surprised at how big it was. Great if you have a few people using it to put food or drink on. My only complaint is its a bit high, it sits higher then the seats of the chairs. Which to me looks a bit off. I was debating on cutting a few inches off the legs. Other then that I'm very happy with it.

I get compliments on the set from everyone who sees the set, and they are all shocked when I tell them how much I paid for it.

I BOUGHT 2 TABLES BY STRATHWOOD....THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL, WELL MADE, ALL PARTS WERE THERE AND THEY ARRIVED VERY QUICKLY AND AM LOOKING FOR THE CHAIRS TO GO WITH THEM, BUT IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY AREN'T MADE ANYMORE..... - Outdoor Furniture - Table - Furniture - Outdoor Table'

Organic Gardening - organic gardening, gardening

I have been gardening for 40 years and have read hundreds of articles and books on gardening. This one is "hands down" the

best one I have read. Markham takes complex topics and explains them in plain english. For example, I now know exactly how to modify soil Ph with specific products in specific measure. I understand how each element influences the equation and why using a variety of soil amendments is advisable. I finally understand the value of Boron in plant physiology with smart ways to apply it. I now "get it" about what bio-char is, how to make it, and why it is important to my soil. I finally understand exactly why deep roto-tilling actually hurts the soil even though it "looks good" in the garden. Thank you Brett! Mini Farming: Self-Sufficiency on 1/4 Acre

I felt like this book was more of a coffee table picture book than a helpful guide to getting started on self sufficiency. There is plenty of information in the pages, but it's all in block paragraphs that run together. I'd have to go through with highlighter and sticky notes to mark it if I wanted to find anything again.

I much preferred The Backyard Homestead. It had much more easily referenced information and more user-friendly instructions, both written and illustrated. Definitely check Mini Farming out of your library to make sure its the choice for you before you invest in it.

I saw this book and knew I had to have it. Not only does this book contain in depth details about gardening, food preservation, raising chickens, and a plethora of recipes and other topics, it also contains oodles of full color beautiful pictures that show step by step instructions for some things, as well as pictures to admire. A very gorgeous and well put together book that I will use as a reference for years and years to come. A must have!

This was just a really well done book. I liked they way Markham wrote and he explained things well. I had started a few years ago with the Square Foot Gardening and we had good success with it. But I wanted to expand it and in reality couldn't POSSIBLE afford the expense of the planting mixture Bartholomew suggest so came up with my own. So I also started to consider expanding the 4x4 squares to a wide 32" row and the length of the garden area, but still keep the intense planting for the benefits. And low and behold here's Markham writing about it and giving tips on accomplishing it. He doesn't hide behind the fact hat it's work to get those rows started. Double digging rows SUCKS! And he expresses that as well. It makes me feel better doing it when I read others agree it's hard work but needs to be done.

Having the background he does Markham is VERY anal and exact on his numbers for what's needed and the amounts. He has done FANTASTIC job of researching articles and books and brings them together. So this book is actually a wealth of knowledge from other sources. The Bibliography in the back is a GREAT resource as well.

I had considered the soil blocks from my seedlings in the past but never thought the expense was worth it. But he brings to light the whole world of it and also a link to an article on the Internet that will then lead you to other areas on the Internet for research of this subject. My point being: You learning doesn't have to stop with JUST reading this book. He shows you a path to follow that will lead you on your own research.

Markham incorporates a lot of other known farmer/writers works into his daily workings. It's something (with all the reading I've done of those others) being work towards. But he's actually DONE it and IS doing it. These are two VERY important factors for someone wondering if they can all put it together. If all these different ideas CAN be incorporated into a bigger whole.

I would recommend this book as wonderful addition to the homesteader/self-sufficient home library!

I found this book very interesting and hard to put down, which is pretty amazing for me. I bought this book after becoming more and more interested in the possibility of homesteading. The author did a great job on writing the book in a way that wasn't boring. If your looking for a complete guide this book is probably not for you, but I feel like this would make a great addition or start to any small library on farming.

An indispensible book.

Mr. Markham has tried the methods out there today -- French Intensive, Biodynamic, Square Foot, etc -- and puts together the most productive hybrid of them while interjecting some rather excellent observations on efficacy, variances due to climate, etc. For instance, the cost of raising one person's yearly ration of wheat would eat up thousands of dollars of possible revenue, cultivated land, and work hours. Instead, spend $50 or so dollars for preground organic wheat and buy a breadmaker... and you'll still come out ahead.

The different approach to the standard how-to technique book is marvelous for all levels of experience. Comprehensive explanations of subjects such as how to journal are excellent for everyone. More research is suggested through extensive footnotes to books, studies, and resources. Excellent comparisons of techniques and careful record keeping are summarized, supporting every point and conclusion.

I have been an organic gardener for over twenty years. This is a coffee table book. The information is solid enough there just isn't that much of it. If you live in the Northeast, as I do, the seed starting table and plant-out dates are useful if you don't already know the procedure. The book covers the high points of back yard sufficiency gardening but there is little detail and a lot of space devoted to calculations that could be done on the back of an envelope. The font size is big and the pages are thick. This book might be okay for those who are not sure if they want to start back-yard gardening but it is not for those who already know what they are doing. - Organic Gardening - Country Life - Gardening - Organic Farming'

Butane Torch - jewelery, jewelry making tools

I am a Jewelry designer. I have been one for close to 30 years. I've had big tanks with all the gauges and tubing and the are good it you do large pieces of jewelry. My work is very delicate so I don't need anything with a huge flame. I have been using

one of these for about 8 years now and when mine died I called the manufactor. They said it was sold on Amazon. I jumped right on it. The price is reasonable and you can solder bezels, jump rings and do jewelry repairs with it plus butane is easely obtainable. I give this product 5 stars.Prefect for beginners and for those of us who having been doing it for eons. Blazer ES1000CR Spitfire Butane Refillable Torch

This is a wonderful torch! I got it for jewelry-making and other crafts and it does the job very well. It is made with the kind of good quality you would expect from Japan.

As a side note, the back of this torch may dig into your hand a bit, depending on your grip (or if you are wearing gloves).

My husband was looking for something more reliable for starting his workshop fireplace, we live in cold country and the regular store bought lighters don't perform well. He has been extremely happy with this torch/lighter and hasn't had any problems lighting the fireplace with this very reliable item.

It's highly recommended.

I have owned three of these torches over the last 12 years. The "Thumb click to operate" style is by far the best, compared to the dual control models (turn on gas, then ignight). I have no idea why ALL of their models do not operate in this manner. I sadly acknowledge that this is one of the finest on the market. Why "sadly"? Because if this is the best the market can do, then someone needs to step in and design a truly "Rolls-Royce" quality tool of this type -- for which I would gladly pay twice the price. All thrtee of those I've owned eventually resort to ignition failure. The lastest one I have has simply stopped ignighting, even though it still generates a spark and it burns just fine when lighted with a second flame. And yes, I am using ONLY the fuel supplied by Blazer.

Asided from the inexplicable lack of ignition, I am simply amazed that the folks at Blazer have still not seen the merit of providing a model with a totally transparent, full view fuel tank. I despise having to carry a fuel can to every job site simply because I cannot be sure when it will run out of fuel.

In general, I have lost all faith in Piezo crystal ignition. I would love to see the re-emergence of electronic ignition (driven by a small battery and totally silent.)

In general, I would love to see a model identical to this one in all respects EXCEPT in half the size, with a transparent tank and a detachable stand-up base, along with aa way to clean it in case it stops ignighting, even in the presence of a spark.

This is a great little torch which I use at work. However the lever you must push down to get the gas to come out is way too tight. Its a lock that you push up before pushing the lever down. I have 3 older moldels of this torch which operate much more freely. One broke and I replacxed it with the spitfire.

Very nice torch, well made and works good. From a 4 inch yellow to a 1 inch blue flame--This puppy won't go out on you in the wind. I'm using 5x filtered butane, I'd go with at least triple filtered. Need more than just a lighter? Try this Blazer. - Jewelry Making Tools - Jewelery'

Windows Xp - laptop, cam

I had this sent to my sister, 800 miles away, to install on my mother's computer so we could set her up with Skype. I wanted something very easy to install and operate and it was a piece of cake. Everyone is impressed with the picture quality. Logitech Webcam C500 with 1.3MP Video and Built-in Microphone [Retail Packaging]

I bought this webcam to keep in visual contact with my daughter who goes to college in Scotland. The picture quality is fantastic and so is the sound. I am going to buy a 2nd one to install on the 2nd PC we have in our house.

I bought four of these for family members as christmas gifts. They have good (not excellent) quality video and sound for skype calls. There is certainly a difference between these and the camera that's built into my laptop. They are much better! As others have said, you do not need to use the included software, just plug in and start calling. If you're looking for a decent quality webcam at an affordable price this one should suite you just fine.

The last cam I had was a Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX which I had bought a couple years ago for fifty dollars. I was never all that impressed with it but it did what I needed it to do so I decided to stick with it. Unfortunately the mic had recently gotten really distorted with static so I figured it was time for a new one. After reading a number of reviews for different cams, I decided to stick with Logitech and so I went to their website and was pleasantly surprised that they had a compare option right there so that I could more easily find the webcam that is best for me. They even had my previous model there (which was at that time my current model) so I quickly got busy comparing all the models in my price range to the one I had. It was no contest. The C500 had a long list of checked boxes where my (then) current webcam had very few. Something bothered me, though. My then current model was still fifty bucks, the exact same price as the C500. Why is that? Wouldn't the old model have gone down in price? Or wouldn't a good new model be more? I decided to hold off until the price dropped and, convenient enough, it did just two days later. It was on sale at Best Buy for 39.99 and that was my calling. Well to get to the review, the picture quality is far superior to that of my old cam, this one with higher resolutions, widescreen support and dozens of cool video effects. The mic is wonderful and has with it a background noise suppressor so the person you're talking to can only hear the sounds you want them to. I can't say this cam is better than Logitech's more expensive counterparts (I'm sure not) but what I can say is that for what it cost me, it's totally worth it. Even the fifty would have been a fair price. - Skype - Windows Xp - Laptop - Cam'

Screen Protectors - motorola xoom screen protector, android tablet

Purchased this item to go on my Xoom. This was my second Steinheil screen protector. I purchased the crystal clear unit and returned it for the same reason I returned this one.

No instructions in packaging, video on website is lacking at best. I took every precaution as listed on the install instruction but had many many bubbles that I could not squeegee out. Returned the item. SGP Motorola Xoom Screen Protector Steinheil Ultra Series [Ultra Crystal]

So I just received mines from OnTrac and I prepared myself to spend at least 30 mins getting it right. But the fortunate part about that is it took only 5 minutes.

There are not directions so I'll do what I can to write you all some.

Besure to wipe every smudge and every dust particle.

When you pull it out, you'll see that there are two stickers. One that says back and one that says front.

Now think of this as a person for a quick second.

The front will be considered a persons belly.

the back will be considered their back side.

Now with the front, you want to facing up as if your seeing the belly and the back should be facing the screen.

Now with the two back stickers, you want to evenly flip then downward about 2 inches. Now with the revealed 2 inches shown, you want to place it on the Motorola Screen up towards the front camera.

With it placed you want to slowly move the Back stickers downward towards the bottom.

Once you get about half ways, you should see the screen start to blend itself to the screen. Now with the rubber squeegee, you want to rub down from left to right and smooth out the bubbles or just blend in the protector to the screen. It's ok to be rough and hard on it to ensure it stays because the front part hasn't been removed yet.

So continue moving down the back stickers all the while smoothing out the bubble and screen. Now when it is about a inch away, it might just smooth itself out but be sure to be fast enough to catch any bubbles before they get locked in. Meaning make sure you can smooth out the bubbles in an opening before you seal the screen with the squeegee.

Now with the Front still on, and with no bubbles showing, Just squeegee like you never squeegeed before to ensure that all of the screen protector is air tight and if you see any bubble, then it might be due to a dust particle. Learn to live with it if you can removed the air bubble.

Once you are satisfied with the squeegee process removed the belly side of the front and then use the cloth they gave you and wipe as if you are polishing a car but in a side to side motion so your fingers don't feel so clammy while moving on the screen. That effect will give you more of a non sticky feeling and will glide more seamlessly.

Also the film isn't sticky, it just sorta feels that way since its brand now.

Hope this helps and I do believe this has been a good buy for me and now it should be fore you.

I had expected there to be more than 1 screen in the package (as they do with the cell phone screens), but for this big, expensive screen protector there is only one. To get around this limitation, Steinheil has instituted a no returns policy, so you've got to be a screen protector black-belt to get it applied correctly.

I managed to get mine applied with only 2 bubbles on the edges (brown-belt?), and I put that fancy gold sticker Steinheil included over one of them. So far, I've been pleased with the protector. The Ultra Crystal is very clear and it's hard enough that you can drag over long distances easily (I'm using it on a Xoom tablet).

It's a shame they don't just put an extra screen in the package, as I would imagine that this is an absurdly high-margin item.

So after spending $20 for a zagg cover at best buy for my xoom I was very dissapointed with the look and feel of that product. However I knew I did not want any texture on my screen (like the zagg had) and I wanted as little interference as possible between myself and the screen. I figured the matte cover would not be ideal for me so I settled on steinheil ultra crystal because it didn't interfere with the screen brightness and it had no matte texture. I knew installation could get tricky since that's what many of the reviews said and they were right. It was mostly my fault since the tablet slipped from my hands and fell into a pile of clothes while I was trying to get a dust removal sticker. But with some patience I was able to remove all the lint. The screen itself amazingly eliminated most of the bubbles and any straglers were easily removed with the squeegie. What Im left with is a gorgeous screen that resists fingerprints and makes the xoom screen feel more vivid. Best of all my fingers glide on it and I love swiping and tapping the touch screen now. So even though it is a little more expensive, all my screen protectors will be made by Steinheil.

I just finished installing this on my Xoom, and as a longtime Steinheil screen shield user, I was very pleased with the outcome.

However, I must say you need to get the gaps almost perfect, around 1mm around the perimeter, for this to fit right and all the air bubbles to be released.

It took me about 4-5 times to get this thing perfect, but now it's a beauty.

I'd highly recommend this product, as I use Steinheil for all my phones.

Be patient and take your time when installing, the resulting outcome will be great. - Motorola Xoom Screen Protector - Android - Xoom Accessories - Android Tablet'

Battery-operate - electric pencil sharpener, battery

I don't usually write these reviews, but I was extremely irritated with the way this product turned out for me.

As a high school math teacher I am always in need of a good pencil sharpener, but considering I personally buy more than half of my school supplies, I couldn't afford to spend a lot on one. After reading the reviews, and deciding to purchase it, I anticipated receiving a great working sharpener for little money!

NOT THE CASE. After "teaching" my students how to work the sharpener - hold the pencil firmly, press VERY gently, take it out quickly - over and over again, it broke. It constantly would break the lead off the pencil and get stuck in the sharpener. And finally it just completely quit working. So after only four weeks of school, it is getting no use whatsoever but collecting dust in my desk, while my students are back using 99cent plastic sharpeners. It worked great for me personally, but for a classroom of young adults/teenagers, it is not worth it! X-Acto 16750 Battery-Powered Pencil Sharpener, Black

My old battery operated pencil sharpener died a miserable death a few months ago and I needed a replacement. I vacilated between a battery-operated one and an electric one. I finally decided on the battery-operated sharpener as I have noticed no difference in the life length between the two--I use electric ones on my desk at work. At any rate, I decided on the X-ACTO Razor Blade Battery Sharpener. I also purchased a package of rechargeable batteries for it.

The sharpener has worked perfectly each time that I have used it. Another reviewer mentioned art pencils and it is a valid point to take into consideration. I haven't used art pencils in a while so cannot speak to that. One complaint mentioned that the catch-container is only large enough to sharpen 1 or 2 pencils before it needs to be emptied. That has not been my experience. I can go several days--and several sharpenings--without needing to empty the container.

My only complaint about the sharpener--and it has been my complaint with most of those I have owned--it's noisy as in very. The cat runs out of the room each time that I use it. That said, it is a small price to pay for a perfectly sharpened pencil.

just about every time i've ever use this thing it pulls the lead out of the pencil and clogs the sharpening device with said lead. you have to take it apart and dig out the lead and then grind away another inch of pencil to compensate for the lead that fell out. if you are very lucky you only need to waste about 3-4 inches of pencil to get one point.

I needed a portable, light, and inexpensive sharpener for my pencils- regular graphite #2, a variety of drawing pencils (including charcoal and graphite in assorted soft/hardnesses), colored pencils, and watercolor pencils. This sharpener has done a perfect job on all of them. I haven't had any problems with tips breaking off or shattering, and the pencil tip is always a perfect razor-fine sharpness with a good balance of wood to graphite/lead. I especially like that I no longer have to use an X-Acto knife to get my pencils to a good sharpness for the different grips I use when I draw.

The only caveat to this sharpener is you must hold the sharpener in one hand and the pencil in the other, unless you manage to secure it to your work surface. The motor is powerful that either the pencil or the sharpener will try and spin when you insert a pencil and it turns on. But if you secure both pencil and sharpener, it only takes one or two rotations for the pencil to be sharpened completely. Beware of over-sharpening, which will weaken your pencil and sometimes I have a tendency to do. Less is more with this unit.

I can't recommend this sharpener enough. It can be a little loud (but not loud enough to cause shock and awe, or be heard in the next room) but what pencil sharpener isn't? It's small, inexpensive, sharp, hard-working, and super-portable. For only a few dollars for than a cheapy plastic "do it yourself" model, it's an essential tool for any artist, student, household, or crafter.

This thing was a disaster, and I gave it a chance. Really, I did. A few years.... It simply chews up pencils. Just when you think it's almost sharp, snap! Broken lead, and somehow, it breaks the lead way down the shaft so you have to chew off another inch or two before you finally get something resembling a sharp pencil. So frustrating!

Oh, and don't even get me started on what happens to those broken leads! You have to take off the shaving-catcher/cover thing and get something like a toothpick to dislodge it while the darn blade keeps moving..... Arrrggghh! Then, when you try to put the cover back on, it feels as though it's going to break, (though in all fairness, it never did).

In. The. Trash. Can. Sharpened all 24 required pencils for my son's school by hand, thank you very much. - Battery-operate - X-acto - Battery - Electric Pencil Sharpener'

Samsung Captivate - samsung captivate, droid x case

The Glacier case by Swiss Leatherware was recommended by many other sites for the Samsung Captivate and other similar size phones but is of middling quality it seems. The pictures make it look a bit more elegant and fancy than it really feels once you get it. It feel like poor quality vinyl and leather and seems to be made with hard cardboard chunks inside. The strap that flips over the top is not soft enough to allow various height phones to be used so unless your phone happens to fit perfectly (my old Blackberry Curve 8310 was almost a perfect fit, my new Samsung Captivate did NOT fit), the strap will not stay closed as the magnet is not quite strong enough to hold it in place.

As I indicated, I bought this holster for my new Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S model for AT&T) but it is just about 3 or 4 millimeters too tall to fit this holster properly. This makes it so the strap will not stay closed over the phone and just kind of flaps around.

Additionally, the case is just barely wide enough to fit either the Captivate or the Curve, either one is a task to get the phone in or out of the holster as it is so tight. I'm sure this would eventually result in dropping the phone at some point on the way in or out of the holster.

It's disappointing because it is a nice *looking* holster for sure, just that the build quality is not quite what it looks like in the pictures and the size is not quite right for the phones I wanted it for. Swiss Leatherware Glacier Case - PDA and Smart Phones - iPhone / Blackberry / HTC / Samsung / LG / Motorola / Nokia

I too bought this for my Samsung Captivate as the description stated this case would fit. WRONG - way too small even if you dont have a protective case on your phone. Case is so tight you would miss a call trying to retrieve your phone to answer. The flap to hold phone in wont stay shut either since the phone is a lot longer than case. Very Disappointed...

Bought this to fit my new HTC incredible, it lookes much nicer in the pic and isn't a perfect fit, a bit tight and a bit to short to close completely however it does stay closed ok. Am happy with it for the price tho.

I got this Glacier case because the item description said my Droid Incredible would fit. Well, not so much. The Incredible is just about 10mm too tall for the case. The magnet strap won't fit over the top and stay shut. So I give it 1 star for that. Otherwise, its a serviceable case made of vinyl and maybe some leather. - Samsung Captivate - Case - Droid X Case'
