Battery Charger Aa Or Aaa - electronics

I've used Kodak's 1850mAh NiMH batteries for about a year in my Olympus C-4000, and they're fantastic. I can get hundreds of (daylight) shots, or several weeks of intermittent use, before needing to recharge. With its higher capacity, the 2100mAh battery should be even better. These high capacity NiMH batteries work great in frequent use/high drain devices, such as cameras, flashlights, PDA's, CD players, toys, etc. Unlike NiCads, they don't contain the toxic heavy metal cadmium. They aren't subject to any significant "memory effect," so they don't need to be discharged fully before recharging. They will outperform both NiCads and throwaway alkaline batteries in high drain devices, and can be recharged more than 500 times. Their only disadvantage is that they self-discharge over time, losing 1-2% of their capacity per day. Alkaline batteries are still the best bet for low drain devices such as clocks and remote controls. With the appropriate adapters, such as those sold by Star Batteries, you can even use your NiMH AA's in your C and D cell flashlights! For best results, charge these in a charger designed for NiMH batteries. For longest battery life use a smart charger that protects against both overcharging and overheating, and signals when charging is complete. Kodak 8909012 Max 4 NiMH 2100mAh Rechargeable AA Batteries

These batteries are green in color, not red as shown. They are made by Sanyo in Japan & are of excellent quality. They last really long. Get only the Kodak Charger & NOT other brand, i had the bad experience in mixing battery & charger from diff brands. Now, i got more of these & use them in toys, kitchen electrics etc. etc. Got some Kodak AAA as well & each charge lasts 3 months or so in my wireless mouse.

I am very pleased with this product in that it performs as advertised. I am using these in a Kodak digital camera and have recharged them several times in the past month. When fully charged they last as long as a non-rechargeable and have already paid for themselves.

Product was originally shipped with package opened and 2 batteries missing. Amazon immediately replaced the item when notified with no hassle.

I purchased these batteries so I would always have a back up of charged batteries for events I wanted to catch on film, however, the batteries were not the ones that work with the charger I had. I am not going to buy another charger just to charge these up, because I already have the longer time charger. So I'm stuck with a brand new package that hasn't been opened, and can't return because I waited too long to return them to Amazon.

Perhaps it is just the difference between 2100mAH vs 2300mAH, but these Kodak batteries do not work near as well as my Energizers in cameras that use 2 batteries.

In my Z990, which uses 4 batteries, they work pretty well.

[...]

I've always been happy with Kodak products. They are always superior quality and last for a long time. I'm sure the batteries will be the same.... They work great now and keep a charge longer than the ones I bought from the store. So all is good.

We bought these 3 years ago, and they were great while they lasted. Alas, today they no longer hold a charge. (So much for the urban myth of holding a charge for 1,000 times). Anyway, they were ok for 3 years, and now off to get Sony batteries & charger for $15.00. We are disappointed, however, that the charge lasted only approx 36 times (once/month). 36 <> 1000.

I have both these Kodak Green rechargeables and Sanyo Eneloops. These green ones have been giving me a lot of trouble. So far I cannot run a simple wall clock (one AA) or an electronic lock (four AA), they both work fine with the Eneloops and standard alkaline. I tried refreshing the Kodaks on my La Crosse charger but that has not helped.

So AVOID the Kodak Green rechargeables (this one). I have heard that the Kodak White ones are fine (relabeled GP Recykos). Or just get Eneloops. - Electronics'

Ryobi 18 Volt Battery - 18v battery, rechargeable batteries

This review is for Damlow Prices aka DLOW - Total garbage! The item came used and open without original packaging which voids the warranty.(wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap) The batteries would not even hold a charge. If a seller wants to save money on shipping they should not unpack the items from their original box, and if they are that cheap then perhaps they should be selling on ebay and not Amazon.com. I wound up returning these and getting THE SAME PRODUCT at the Home Depot for under $46 (identical two pack, unused, and SEALED with warranty)No where in the description did it state at the time of my order that these were OPEN or USED and the 3 or 4 other people that left reviews about the price are 100% correct. Its a shame that with so many negative reviews this seller is still selling this garbage on Amazon.com (READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS PRIOR TO ORDERING) Ryobi 18v P100 Nicd Battery 2-pack

I received these two batteries loose in the box which seemed odd. They were not in the normal clear two pack plastic container. Both batteries will not hold a charge and are worthless. This certainly was not a good deal and I will never do any future business with that company.

These batterys work (for a short time) but have a very short charge life and deteriorate in charge life very quickly. I'm constantly changing and recharging whats left in the life of the batterys. Unfortunately I bought a Ryobi tool kit including 6 tools. The tools are OK but not very good quality and I will never buy Ryobi tools again because of the lousy batteries

The Ryobi 18 volt batteries 2 pack, only lasted 7 months. I would expect at least one year of use for a $75 battery pack . Used under normal conditions, no abuse,I have owned other brands that lasted a year and a half. I will no longer buy Ryobi tools in part for this reason .

Not sure some of the reviewers of the Ryobi Ni-cad battery understand that...

--- all Ni-cad batteries degrade over time regardless of the brand, get real.

I don't know about Amazon's source, but I buy mine at Home Depot...

--- all have lasted at least 2 years+ and I am on my 8th battery.

--- never had a failure out of the box, but if I did, no hassle return to HD.

I use my Ryobi tools on mission work where if I lose them, or others abuse them, I'm not out $250-$500...

--- some tools, like the big drill and impact driver, are better than the others...

--- and you can say the same about every other brand selling cordless tools.

Ryobi fills a niche; if you want the best, then spend the money on some other brand.

Since the product description did not state anything as to its condition, I innocently believed that it would be brand new. The batteries came in bubble wrap with no proper manufacturer packaging, instruction, or warranties. My new Ryobi charger did indicate that both were fully charged without any complication, but I haven't actually tried them yet and don't know how they will perform. So much disappointment for receiving open box items without knowing. Two-star rating generously goes here to praise their ability to get charged. But, if the battery life is shorter than new ones, the seller only deserves ZERO star. Honestly, I think this is a gimmick which Amazon.com neglects.

I needed newer batts to replace my 4 yr old ones, can't afford IONs and charger just yet. Found Home Depot selling 2 18v P100 batts, charger, 1/2" variable drill and carry bag for $69.00 !!!! Price might still go down with approach of Father's day or summer specials.

STAY AWAY! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

This is the most ridiculous company with about the lousiest attitude ever!

After several 18V +one batteries started to fail (fast discharge, not holding charge, capacity loss) within a year to year and a half I contacted Ryobi since the original vendor only "warrants" 90 days but Ryobi oh so "proudly" offers a full 2 year warranty.

I was instructed to call one of their contracted 3rd party "service center" on their list which one can find via area code etc.

The nearest to me is Craig & Green, 40 miles (one way) away in San Francisco.

Upon my call to Craig and Green and polite inquiry I not only was put on hold and disconnected but upon my second call I got besides a rude person an attitude stating that Quote: I have to bring all my tools, chargers and batteries for warranty service." End Quote.

Upon asking why ALL TOOLS and CHARGERS and how long this takes I received a non qualified answer: Quote: That's how we do it for warranty service and I can't tell you how long it will take. End Quote.

So in the mean time it sit idle and can't do any work? I'm a contractor. Does Ryobi reimburse me for the loss of income?

I made A HUGE MISTAKE TRUSTING THE RYOBI BRAND! I'm better selling all off and buy a brand who stands behind his warranty commitment.

Ryobi has about the lousiest customer and warranty service I ever came across! I will not hesitate to write to management about this so called "Customer Service" as well post my experience everywhere on the web for others to know. They are absolutely preposterous if they think this is warranty service by referring you, the customer, to a 3rd party business with an attitude which demands that all tools and chargers be submitted as well, or else. This so called "Warranty Service" is more a fraudulent deterrent to avoid their obligation and commitment to the promised 2 year warranty. It frankly stinks sky high.

On top of that, in my case I would have to drive over 80 miles round trip twice, pay $ 11 in toll fees twice not even knowing if I will get my batteries replaced or just another excuse delivered that it can not be done.

Are they serious? I have to drive a total of 160 miles in gas and time and $ 22 in tolls fees?? This "2 year warranty" service is of fraudulent nature and is nothing short of "defective services"!

Stay away from it! Don't buy Ryobi products! Buy a brand who lives up to their warranty. They don't live up to their performance (at least the 18V batteries)and when you need service you'll get the round around! - 18v Battery - 18v - Good - Rechargeable Batteries'

Wireless Networks - wireless usb adapter, wireless network adapter

I purchased a Vista laptop a few months back and no longer needed my XP desktop on the first floor of the house. The problem was, I dreaded the prospect of having to get a super long ethernet extension cord and tediously staple-gunning it along the wall all the way down to where I wanted to put my computer in the basement. The other option was to get some sort of wireless card installed to my desktop, but I'm not that tech-savvy and generally try to avoid ulcer-causing IT-related nightmares.

So I procrastinated for a good long time, frozen by my aversion to either manual labor or the daunting task of setting up my own wireless network. The months passed --spring summer autumn winter / he sang his didn't he danced his did-- and one day I finally just went out and purchased this Netgear USB Adapter, and it was so much easier than I had ever expected to get it working. For one, it's a plug-in usb interface, so there wasn't the PCI card installation to deal with, and since this interface works so well, I wouldn't recommend that the novice user go out and get the PCI card version unless s/he has particular reason for it.

This is about all it took to receive wireless internet on my XP desktop:

1) Removed driver cd installation disc and usb adapter from box

2) Installed drivers from enclosed cd onto my desktop pc

3) Plugged in the usb adapter into a rear port on my desktop pc

4) Clicked "next," etc. as directed by the setup window after I plugged in the usb wireless adapter

And then I was online. I was a little worried that the wireless range wouldn't be very good since the router was on a different floor, but it turned out to be fine, for the most part. Once in a while the little green icon in the taskbar that indicates online connectivity blinks red, but it's only for a second and isn't enough to cause much interruption in my site browsing activities.

I'm not sure if the setup process was made easier because both my router and this adapter are made by Netgear, but for whatever the reason, it was simple for me to set up and use so I'm recommending it. That is all... I hope my review has been helpful to you in your hunt for the perfect network adapter! NETGEAR WG111US Wireless G Usb Adapter

I had this thing for 2 months and got constantly bad signal from it. It would go all the way down to 2mbps. I did not pay for a crappy b signal. I paid for a good g signal. What was wrong you ask. I had the netgear plugged directly into the back of my computer. When I used the provided usb extension cable voila I have had nothing but 54mbps since. Keep this adapter away from your computer otherwise your signal will be extremely terrible.

Due to the nature of my work, I have used several types of these 54Mbps wireless cards. The only 2 Wireless Homenetworking I recommend to others is either D-Link or Netgear.

I personally am using a 54Mbps wireless WG111 USB adaptor on my PC plus 2 others in the house.

In addition I use the Neatgear 54Mbps Wireless Card (WG511) for my older Dell laptop. I have used these adaptors for over a year and have not had to replace them, or have had any problem with their peformance.

I have installed hundreds of these for customers. It does come with software for the drivers, AND comes with a NETGEAR PROGRAM that overides windows. I never use the program personally. I just use the CD for the drivers, after insert the adaptor. It also comes with the software updates for vista.

I found that as long as you have a Wireless Netgear Modem, it never seems to have any problems with 128bit encryption or 64bit (which is what I mostly use)

The biggest reason for any Netgear adaptor 128 or 64 bit is 1st) If you use install and use the NETGEAR PROGRAM, then the best way to avoid internet drop off, is to enter you 64 or 128 bit encryption password on the first page of the progam IN THE MANUAL SLOT and not the 2 slots for above! Trust me I know.

2nd) If you plug the adaptor in, and then insert the CD just for the drivers (when prompted) WITHOUT using Netgears program, then you have to set internet options to set LAN and check "automatic" and leave proxy settings alone. Then right click on the little wireless pic in your tray, and select "status" then "properties". From there at the top box scroll down to TCP/IP and click properties and make sure "automatic is checked" The click close and click the middle tab. If there is more than 1 network in your area or in that box, remove them all, except yours. Then make sure to check the box "let windows configure my wireless settings for me" and on the last tab check the box "automatically connect to this network when in range" After that click okay, and close. It may start to try and connect right then, or you can right click on the little wireless computer in tray and select "view wireless networks" and you will see your there, click connect and it will prompt you for you password, twice and thats it. You don't have to type in the password any more. Everytime you turn on your computer, it will automatically detect settings and connect you to your wireless internet network.

It sounds like a lot, but it really is simple and will prevent internet drop off tremendously!

I setup networks for a living and years ago, I used to pull my hair out sometimes, until I finally found out what works the best, regardless of number of networks, users or 64 and 128 encyrption. If the router is setup correctly and you install Neatgear wireless usb or card, you will be very happy. I have moved and used the same USB and CARD for my laptop with 3 dirrent networks, and all I did was set it up with the new password and it is working as of now.

Hope this helps

So this thing worked great when it worked. Problem is data would stop transferring often. It was strange because my signal in both the windows notifier and the Netgear program would show the signal as being strong and when it came back I would sometimes even get a notification that I was connected to the internet even though it never displayed that I had been disconnected. I don't know if my specific unit was defective or if this is a widespread problem but from reading the other reviews it seems that not everyone has problems with it but I am not the only one who did. Either way I replaced it for a different brand (Belkin) and had no more dropouts.

Also I have some other nitpicks which aren't much but since many of these devices are pretty much the same (if they work properly) the nitpicks become why you would choose one brand over another and are further reasons why I like my replacement better.

1. The blinking indicator light is too bright. When I am in the dark the flashes are bright enough to illuminate my desk are and is distracting

2. It gets too hot. I don't know what kind of long or short term performance issues this may or may not cause but it made me nervous that it will.

3. It runs a separate program to display connectivity as opposed to just using the Windows program. So I have an extra program I don't need cluttering up my system.

4. Both the new and old ones come with extension cables but the new one's cable has a nice looking stand to plug the adapter into while the Netgear one just hung off my desk with a recommendation in the instructions of taping it to the monitor. (Note: the new one is also much wider so if you are plugging it in directly without the extension cable it won't look better then.) - Wireless Network Adapter - Usb Adapter - Wireless Adapter - Wireless Usb Adapter'

Staple Gun - staple gun, pneumatic stapler

These staples are designed to work with your us58 Porter Cable upholstery stapler. I have not been able to find these locally, so the best bet is to buy them here. The 3/8" doesn't have a deep bite, so they are ideal for those situations where you either don't want to come out the other side of thin material, or need to be able to release them at a later date. I guess you can tell that I use the PC stapler for a lot of uses that are not specifically upholstery. Great all around device. Staples work great, buy them here. B & C Eagle 71/10 3/8-Inch by 22 Gauge Galvanized Staple (10,000 per Box)

I just received my stapler and the 10000 staples. No problem with the stapler but the box of staples had been opened and re-taped loosely and the 5" strips of staples were broken into 1" to 2" pieces making loading them a real pain.

This is more a note to the vendor. The staples are fine and I had no problems shooting 3/4 of the box on my first project. I purchased a air stapler and 2 boxes of stables (different sizes). All three items were placed in a box and a couple of those plastic pillows were put in to fill the box. Everything was loose in the shipping box and both boxes of staples opened up during shipping spilling 20,000 staples into the shipping box where the individual loads of staples promptly broke into multiple pieces. It took me over an hour to separate the different staple sizes into piles. Forget about getting them back in the box. Then when I need to reload the gun, I had to pick and choose various sections to use. Very frustrating. Suggest that vendor securely tape the boxes of staples shut so they will not open up during shipping, or if you are buying, only buy 1 size at a time and have a zip lock bag ready to store all the pieces!

I ordered a couple of boxes of staples and both were open when received. Most of the staples had fallen out of one of the boxes and the were all broken into little pieces. When I ordered a replacement box, I explained what had happened. I received the new box fairly quickly.....it was opened and spilled inside the with some of the staples broken also. Won't order them again. - Staple Gun - Pneumatic Stapler - Staples - Stapler'

Colored Duck Tape - colored duck tape, tape

The deep chocolate brown color works well for taping around a brown framed windows when installing an Air Conditioning vent for a Portable AC or installing a window unit. If you have brown window frames this color tape looks much better and blends very well than the standard gray duct tape that looks out of place with brown in the mix.

Also a great color duct tape for brown cardboard packages. Well made typical 3M duct tape perfect for your brown projects. 3M 1060-BRN Scotch Brown Duct Tape, 1.88-Inch-by-60-Yard

My girl friend has an old leather couch with several holes in it. We used this duct tap to "repair" some of the large holes about 4 months ago, and it is still holding strong. For some reason, every store we looked at to find brown duct tape had every color except brown(including bright green, tie dye, leopard print and hello kitty print). It was a couple of dollars more than I would have hoped for, but not outrageously high. Very happy with this product.

I couldn't find any dark brown tape from anywhere. I figured I should have looked on amazon from the beginning, because amazon carries mostly everything. Anyway I had a small tear in my good livingroom furniture and I didn't want to get rid of the set for this simply rip, but on the other hand I didn't want the rip to be noticeable either. I put this brown tape over the rip and of course the tape blends in right with the furniture and you can't even tell there is a rip or that there's tape covering it. Once again, thank you amazon for coming to the rescue. - Duck Tape - Ducktape - Tape - Colored Duck Tape'

Pencil Grips

My 8-year old was delighted at first, but quickly discovered that these grips are too large for most of her pencils. The pencils (both the usual yelow #2 and the ones with pictures handed out as party favors everywhere) slipped right through the grip. Too bad! The grips have a nice amount of softness/give/support. I guess if you wrap a pencil in a layer of masking tape the grip will sit more firmly. Paper Mate Foohy Assorted Swirl Pencil Grips (83059SW)

These foam grips work well for pens & pencils, but also for crochet hooks. I first wrap tape around the smaller diameter hooks to build them up, then put two grips on each hook. It helps prevent my hands from cramping when griping the small hooks for long periods.'

Swiss Army Watch Wenger

I am now on my third of this exact model watch. I had first purchased this watch after trying watches from other sources that were either too delicate for every day, outdoor usage, or too big for my tastes.

The first watch worked great for 2-3 years, until I smashed the face on a rock - completely my fault. The second stopped working in about 9 or so months; it started to lose roughly 5 minutes every hour, and no replacement battery would change that (I tried multiple brands). Believing that I just had a faulty watch, I purchased the third one. In about 9 or so months, it too started to lose roughly 5 minutes for every hour. I have just tried my third brand of replacement battery with no improvement. All products occaisionally go bad, but not likely two going bad in the same way at roughly the same timeframe unless there is a design or manufacturing fault.

Otherwise, I'd love to give this watch a good rating. A good size and weight, handy and strong for a wide variety of outdoor activities. Maybe I was just snake-bitten twice, but at this point I'm off to try a different brand. The cost is too high to purchase a new one of these watches every year. Wenger Swiss Military Men's 72901 Classic Field White Dial Canvas Leather Military Watch

Like another (the only other) reviewer, I too had a problem with the watch losing 5 minutes frequently. I suspected the battery, even though my watch was less than a month old. Then, I realized that the crown is defective. If you flex your wrist backward, which we all do on a regular basis, the crown can get pushed in past the "run" mode, stopping the watch. Looks like a design flaw with this model. Too bad, because it's a cool-looking watch. But hey, how accurate does a Swiss military watch have to be: the country stays neutral in every war. Unfortunately, my daughter's elementary school expects true military precision from students arriving every morning.

I have owned a lot of watches over the years. This watch is as good as any watch for any money I have owned. Accurate to the second, easy to read, and looks great. It's classic & casual, just what I was looking for. And the price was a steal!

I have purchased this item about a year ago but i have received woman's one. Thought it was the one I ordered and that's why couldn't change it after it was already used. In first two months it started to stop sometimes for about five minutes in 24 hour it was late. After second month it works normally.'
