Training Aid - exercise, heart monitor watch

I purchased this watch to replace an older Polar heart rate monitor with dead batteries in the chest strap and the monitor. The design of that product required me to send both units in for replacement by a Polar service center. The cost was nearly as much as the cost of this timex heart rate monitor.

I am so pleased with this product. The instructon manual was clearly written and easy to understand. There are just enough functions for me without loading the product up with things I will never use. That makes using it simple and I can remember how to use it without having to refresh my memory by repeatedly rereading the manual.

The monitor is an excellent watch when not using the heart rate features. Best of all I can change the batteries myself when the time comes without sending the thing off in the mail to a service center.

On top of all that the price was reasonable. This is one of those few purchases that exceeded my expectations because everything that it does, it does a little bit better than I had hoped for. Timex T5J031 Unisex Digital Fitness Heart Rate Monitor Watch

I bought this HRM to help me as I began a training program, and decided on this one rather than a Polar monitor because it was cheaper and because it was a Timex. It was easy to use out of the box (I ran later that day); I set the time and after fiddling a little with the buttons I was able to use the timer and HRM functions.

The chest strap is snug and comfortable; the watch is unisex but for women with tiny wrists it might be a bit too loose; I myself wear it the tightest possible setting.

Aesthetically it looks great. It's not something that I personally would go around wearing all the time, but it's easy to read and the buttons are easy to use. The indigo is not ideal for when I'm running on the street in the evening since it lights up the numbers rather than the whole face of the watch, but this is a tiny issue.

Overall, fantastic product, and I'm so glad that something this well-featured is availiable at such a competitive price from Timex.

1. The product does everything that it claims to do.

2. The watch looks nice enough to wear all the time as your main watch.

3. The strap that needs to be used to send your heart beats is comfortable.

4. You can learn the HRM quickly if you fool around with it a little bit. If you are a computer nerd, you will learn it in less that one hour.

5. The only thing negative is that it uses batteries like crazy. I have to use a new battery every week and that costs $5. There is no shut off botton on the transmitter so it is constantly on and the battery drains.

Good.

1.Improved elastic band and toggle lock.

2.Coded digital transmitter, reduces interference,

(May not work with gym machines as most of these still are analogue receivers.)

3. Transmitter battery can be changed by user, costs $ 2.00

4. Watch battery can be changed at Sears Jewellery, less than $ 15.00

Bad.

1.Gimmicky. Too many modes. Just about figured it out.

2.The booklet describes all functions first and HRM set up last.

3. If above XL male, the HRM strap may be short, loose elasticity due over stretch.

Timex T5G971, which I lost, is better because:-

1.Simple On/Off switch to start recording also handles the audio alerts.

2.Recall and Recovery buttons at 7 o' clock and 5 o'clock positions. Self explanatory functions.

3.T56971 shows current BPM, records time of activity, max/min pulse, average pulse, time in zone, recovery rate, cals burnt, corrected for age, weight, gender.

I recommend T5G971, also it is analogue, costs $ 20 less, have used for 18 months, being non digital transmitter, works with most gym machines as of today.

This is an elementary and reliable heart rate monitor. It is easy to use and durable. I have used it since February and now routinely wear it for all exercise. The watch has a stop watch, lap timer, alarm, hrm, calorie counter, max/min/ and average heart rate counter and tracks where you are in desired heart rate zone. This is a terrific product --works well and does just what it is supposed to do. I'd recommend buying a spare battery for the chest transmitter; it wore out after about 50 hours of exercise use.

I recently purchased the Timex T5J031 heart rate monitor from Amazon.com to replace a Polar unit that cost twice as much as the T5J031. In every respect the T5J031 is as good as or better than the Polar unit that I had for 2 years. The T5J031 records your minimum heart rate, maximum heart rate, your average heart rate, the time spent in your predetermined training zone, calories burned, and also your recovery heart rate taken 2 minutes after ending your excercise session. Another great function is the ability to easily change the digital display on the watch to one of 7 different display combinations. The heart sensor strap is very soft and comfortable and easily adjusts to different lengths. I have a 48" chest and the heart sensor unit fits with no problem. All-in-all I couldn't be more satisfied with this unit especially for the price. Also, the buying process through Amazon.com was excellent as usual, with delivery at my house 6 days after ordering it.

After researching several HR writst monitors, I decided on the T5J031 for the following reasons: (1) the face is large enough to read without straining while exercising, (2) it's lightweight, (3) it has many features, and alerts when moving into/out of the different burn levels, (4) my everyday watch broke, and this monitor is also a watch, (5) the price was not outrageous, and (6) it's made by Timex. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

After owning 2 polar hrms, I opted for the Timex because of the ability to change the battery in the watch and the chest strap myself. My polar was out of warranty (M61) and about 7 years old. Most likely the cost of repair was nearly the price of a new watch. Anyways.

So the timex. I've used it now about 4 times. I found the set-up somewhat clunky, first of all, and for it to track heart rate, the watch must be in "chrono" mode which i personally find unnecessary. I don't understand why this has to be the case. Furthermore, the calorie expenditure estimate seems quite exaggerated. Sure, i would like to believe i burned 553 calories in 51 minutes, but i was on the elliptical, so i doubt it. Unlike my polar, the Timex does not ask for sex or age, just weight, further decreasing the accuracy of the calorie estimate.

There is often a discrepancy in the bpm between what the exercise machine says and what the watch says. Thus, in the case of this hrm, it is probably optimal for people who do not do their cardio on exercise machines with hr sensors. Thinking it would better deal with such interference was one of the reasons I purchased this digital model over an analog hrm. oh well.

Also, I have to get used to the chest strap again, the 2 pieces, vs. the snapping polar model that was more user friendly. It is also less sensitive and sometimes take 10 minutes to get a reading.

Despite my criticisms, I will most likely keep this hrm and deal with the issues. Maybe it is because i don't want to pay $[...] to ship it back? Perhaps over time I will like this watch better. Seeing my heart rate is motivating enough to keep me going, I suppose. - Exercise - Heart Monitor Watch - Fitness - Heart Rate Monitor Watch'

Mens Leather - belts, mens leather

I'm a 32 inch waist in just about everything and when I ordered I read that it said to go one size up (which I did, to 34)

Except when I got it it literally can go in one or two buckle holes before i feel like i'm in pain.

I think they way they size it is that 32 means it will touch tip-to-tip around a 32 in waist. Definitely go up 2-3 sizes when ordering.

Also, the leather is extremely rough and takes a very long time to form/bend. Danbury Men's 1 1/2" Basic Bridle Leather Work Belt,Black,34

This belt is a bit thinner than I expected, but it is nice otherwise. The grain is smooth and color consistent. Buckle feels a little cheap, but looks good and does the job. Good value for the money- went ahead and bought one in black too. I usually buy 34-36" waist in pants and the 38" belt is perfect. It cinches on the third hole, which gives just enough extra length to put the end through the loop on the belt and pants without being too long.

I purchased this belt to wear my "hippy" jeans - notice I didn't say "hippie"! I'm female and even though it's a men's belt, the size (34) and style are perfect as just a basic brown belt. After a few weeks of wear, it's softened up a bit and isn't quite as stiff as it was on day-1. Good value for the money.

Great simple, clean, strong belt, well done. I saw recommendations in "sizing" help and some reviewers say get 1, 2 or 3 sizes larger than what you need, and this is (currently) not correct, I ordered one 1 size larger (34), and the incorrect size (36) arrived and it was 2 sizes too large. Ordered a 32", perfect. The measurements are exact.

Finally!I tried ordering a few months back only to be sold out,now I have it.It's exactly what I wanted, and where I live I can't find one like it.When I was looking for one,I read reviews and this one had the criteria I want mine to have.I needed one for holding knife and machete sheaths, and durability is top priority with a close second going to appearance when it's not being used as a sheath holder. With the leather care products Amazon hooked me up with, this belt will last me awhile before I need to think about a replacement.I've always chose ones two sizes bigger to accomodate thicker setups like multiple pants. As always, thank you Amazon for the big help in this department. - Belts - Belt - Carhartt - Mens Leather'

Stainless Steel - necklace, gift idea

i just got the necklace's today i love them! they are prefect except for the fact that the key doesnt quite fit the heart. i cant wait to give my fiance the key christmas morning! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU! <3 :D Key To My Heart Necklace Set In Silver

The idea and concept is very cute, but both pendants are OVERLY big. The heart is about the size of a half dollar, which I wouldn't wear on my neck. But I am currently using the necklace on my rear-view mirror and so is my boyfriend.

Too big and tacky for my liking. Additionally, the chain for my necklace broke, so I can't wear it anymore. I tried fixing it with a safety pin, which only added on to the tackiness. Since I don't wear my necklace anymore, my boyfriend finds no need to wear the key anymore. Sweet gesture and a very cute idea, but the product quality is very poor. - Stainless Steel - Gift Idea - Necklace - Valentines Day'

Christi Taylor - dvd, step aerobics

This workout to me is a party in a box, to seasoned Christi fans that might sound totally lame but I have a ball with this workout. Christi Taylor is known for her dancy, spinny and twirly choreography which is not for clutzes like me. She has quite a variety of step and hi-lo aerobics videos for those who crave complex moves, but this is her first video directed to those new to her work or beginner/intermediate steppers in general. There is a 20 minute step segment and 20 minute hi-lo segment. Both are a lot of fun, and somedays when I am only up to 20 minutes of cardio, I will pop this in my player and end up doing all of it because it's so much fun.

You begin with a warmup consisting of grapevines, step taps, heel digs and plenty of squats & calf lifts to warm up your legs. Then it's on to the step section, Christi teaches 4 combinations, one at a time and will run through them several times. This may not appeal to all as some may think it's repetitive, and maybe it is but it doesn't bother me. The moves in this segment are simple but not too basic, keeping things interesting. You will see basic steps, arabesques, rocking horses, lunges, scoops on and off the step, knee lifts, up-tap side, mambos or pivots, L-steps, V-steps, corner knees, repeaters, turn steps and turn shuffles. There are also simple assorted arm movements that go with each step.

If you feel like more the hi-lo segment is next which is as just as fun. Again there are four combinations which Christi will teach one at a time, then run through them all several times. The moves that are seen here are step touches, single & double hamstring curls, hip shakes, grapevines, scoops, mambos, side taps, walk up knee ups, pony snaps, double knees, more mambos, step taps, tap down/back, shuffle ball change, and heel taps again all with assorted arm movements for each.

After all that fun, it's time for the cooldown. Pretty simple, just some step touches, marches and grapevines along with some stretches.

I am really glad that Christi made this video, it is one of my favorite aerobic videos, Christi is a great instructor, she cues very well and is a great choreographer. Unfortunately most of her other videos are too complex for me but I have this one to enjoy and I do. Christi also selects great music, the music in this video is among the best that I have heard in any of my workout videos. She also includes a feature called MoveMaster, which goes over all the steps, some may find this handy.

Overall, I give this one 5 stars. Highly recommended for beginner/intermediates looking for a fun step/hi-lo workout. Christi Taylor: Mission Possible Step & Aerobic Workout

I really like this DVD.

It starts with a 8 minute warm-up on the floor. Next is a 20 minute step routine with not too difficult choreography. It's not easy and I did sweat after 3 or 4 minutes. After this is a Hi/Lo 20 session on the floor. Again, the choreography is not difficult, but you will sweat. The cuing is fantastic and the music is interesing (not crazy about the Shut-Up song, but that's at the end). You'll end with a fun on the floor cool down.

As always, I appreciate Christi's cueing, routines, and length of aerobic session. A+

Once again - another great Christi workout. This one was extremely easy to master. I went through the entire workout the first time and was pretty much able to follow all of Christi's instruction. The choreography is pretty simple, but the workout is as intense as you want it to be. For those of you who have been discouraged by her more complicated workouts - give this one a try. I think you will be happy with it.

Teedums wrote a great description of the whole workout, so I'm just going to say that this is so much fun(!), and that the Move Master helped me get the hang of all the steps at a slow pace so that I never felt lost once I moved on to the workout.

I have this and Jane Fonda's Complete Workout. I think Mission possible is the perfect next step up in intensity, while still keeping a few of the same steps and the great cueing. I'm so glad I bought this one.

(I watched a clip first on collagevideo.com before buying. Great way to see for yourself.)

I got this DVD for the step workout when I outgrew beginner workouts and wanted something a bit more challenging. It was perfect for that intermediate level, gets the heart rate up, a lot of fun, great music to sing along with, but not too twirly in choreography. I did the hi/lo floor workout for the first time recently and it was a LOT of fun (but I don't know why she calls it multi impact, there were no modifications, they were all doing the same impact). But I really liked it, in any case. The floor workout was easier to learn, but that's probably because I have much more experience with floor than step, but it was faced paced and my heart rate was really up the whole time, she just kept moving and moving, it was a blast!!

The workout was ok. This is the first Christi Taylor workout I have done so I am not used to her particular style. I would not recommend this dvd for beginners since they do not explain the moves during the workout, it gets a bit confusing. They do have a separate segment that explains each move, which is good but it would be helpful to have some more explanation during the workout.

Being over 50 and trying to lose weight is hard. I got this video as the next step after the beginners one of Debra Mazda and find that I have managed to keep up, although I am finding the it a little harder to concentrate on the arms as well but I guess once my fitness improves I will be right. I recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to start out it is fun and very easy to follow.

First, let me say that I'm 43 & can finish the workout... after having quit smoking just 5 mos ago (a 10+ year habit) & not working out AT ALL during my thirties. So, if I can do it, anyone can. Let me just say this: If you're looking for quick fix, this is not it, and don't invest in this DVD if you don't have the time to commit to learn & get good at the workouts.

That said, once I was finally convinced that someone had not actually set out to create a method of slow torture specifically designed to make my life miserable, I really got into the exercises. This DVD will make you WORK & you will feel it - but IT WON'T BE OVERWHELMING.

So, here's what I did.

I knew immediately that I wouldn't get any of the routines the first time around. So, I continued w/ my regular workout so that I was still on schedule. Then I sat through the entire Christi DVD once. After that, I actually walked the workouts - nothing strenuous, just a light walk-through to get used to the steps so that I could get used to the routine. I continued my regular workout for a couple more nights while doing the light walk-through's w/ Christi in between so that I could move between both workouts seamlessly. Again, it does take a little time to get all the moves - & trust me, it WILL take time to fully get the routines because they are both continuous 20-minute routines. But I found her cuing to be very good &, even better, she's FUN. I found myself smiling a lot throughout the routines. And it helps that she's got a little instructional section to explain some of the moves. - Fitness - Aerobics - Dvd - Step Aerobics'

Black Cat - science fiction, black cat

Well, it certainly didn't take Kentaro Yabuki long to introduce the villain of "Black Cat."

In fact, the second volume of this quirky, action-packed manga is pretty much devoted to the new villain, Creed, and his newly acquired compatriots. But Yabuki doesn't neglect his hero -- we find out some of what changed Train from a Chronos assassin into the laid-back sweeper he is today, as well as his relationship to Creed.

While Train causes explosive mayhem in Torneo's mansion, Sven goes on to convince Eve that Torneo doesn't own her, and that she can live freely if she wants. But as Torneo tries to threaten Train, he makes the mistake of mentioning Creed -- driving Train into a rage. Rinslet finishes off their attack on the compound by blowing up the nanomachine lab.

But then Rinslet is kidnapped by a mysterious blond man -- and a Tao master corners Train, telling him that if he wants her to live, he'll come meet Creed. Memories of the past trouble Train, as he faces off against an old friend-turned enemy -- and discovers that Creed has new powers and a new, malevolent agenda. To defeat him (and get revenge) Train will p[ut his life on the line...

Whoo. Well, "Black Cat Volume 2" sets up plenty of material for the rest of the series -- it introduces Eve as a new member of the sweeper team, as well as a cast of powerful villains. Let's just say that Creed and his chi-manipulating amigos make Torneo look like a very tiny fish. Creed's big crazy eyes alone are scary -- even after having part of his torso explode, he's still got a big, freaky grin and wild eyes.

We also get to see more of Train's darker side, such as when he terrifies a bunch of goons just by staring insanely at them. And there are some brief flashbacks of Saya, a fellow "stray cat" who changed Creed's life -- as well as the not-so-subtle hunts that Creed murdered her to keep Train from leaving Chronos. It's amazing our hero isn't a total basket case.

And Yabuki crafts some brilliant action scenes, with Train having to dodge an extendible chi sword that he can't even see -- and what he sacrifices in the fight is pretty horrific, as is his dive out of a skyscraper. And when THAT dies down, Yabuki gives us a glimpse of Creed's pals -- including a girl who can make people combust by kissing them.

But there are some cute moments too, like Sven introducing Eve to the outside world, and Eve cheerfully slicing his soda pop can in half. In fact, the whole Eve-Sven thing is pretty adorable. And Rinslet provides a few funny moments near the end, especially when Train spins in with a giant grin, saying, "Train Hartnett... HAS ARRIVED!"

The second volume of "Black Cat" is a dark jumble of comedy, tragedy, and some very nasty action scenes -- a brilliant introduction to our antagonists. And the story ain't over... Black Cat, Vol. 2 (Black Cat (Viz)) (v. 2) - Action - Fantasy - Black Cat - Science Fiction'

Skin Care - tmobile, mytouch 4g

Fits very well on the MyTouch4g phone, and looks very handsome. The buttons line up well, which I found particularly helpful with the power/standby button which I found to be a little too sensitive without a skin. Very easy to grip and pleasing to the hand. I also liked that it would stick to smooth surfaces (like a desktop) but would slide on cloth surfaces (like the inside of your phone case). Good product and thumbs up all around. Amzer Luxe Argyle High Gloss TPU Soft Gel Skin Case for HTC mytouch 4G - Smoke Grey

After reading the reviews, I purchased this case and was pretty happy with the results. It fit perfectly into place with no forcing. It has a nice finish and feel to it. I've had previous phones with silicone cases and while those are nice, you run into a problem with friction and lint if you put your phone in your pocket. Not so with this case. There was only one problem I noticed right off the bat though. A lot of times I use a leftover Blackberry charger for a spare when I'm upstairs and because the standard charger with the USB is so short. The problem is that the plug on the Blackberry is too big for the window over the charging port of the case. Easy fix though. Took out an Exactoblade and carefully cut a little extra space out. Problem solved. I would highly recommend this case. With only one minor problem, it's a great case for the money.

This is a cool case visually. Slick rubbery feel so it grips to your hands unlike another cheap case that i bought that wouldn't stay snapped shut on the corner and couldn't really grip it. I highly recommend this case for your Mytouch 4g.

I honestly could not ask for a better case! It keeps the screen open so you don't have to fight to press the P or the Q. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have dropped my phone many times from my hip to concrete a little over 3 feet, several times and all my phone does is bounce like a football and is working as smoothly as first day when I pick it pack up. I had one of those plastic coveralls before, but this is sooooo much better, wouldn't trade it at all, unless for something better haha!

I saw all the great reviews on this and decided to give this case a try in place of a case I bought from T-Mobile. This is much better - better fit, better feel, better quality. The grey argyle is a nice touch. Highly recommended case.

This case fits great and does a good job at protecting the phone from scratches and minor bumps and bruises. I don't think it would protect the phone from a long fall, but I purchased it just to protect it from normal day-to-day wear and tear. After I had used the case on my phone for a few days I bought another one (the pink one) for my wife, and she loves it as well.

Good quality and well built, it's a perfect match for mytouch 4G.

Gives you a good grip to the phone and protects from drops, without this cover a 4 ft drop had resulted the back cover and battery fall apart from the phone.

The case fits perfectly on my phone and looks great. It does not make my phone look bulky like a lot of other cases tend to. Much better quality than the soft case my husband bought from the store when he got his phone. - Htc - Tmobile - Mytouch 4g - My Touch Mytouch 4g Tmobile'

I Recommend It - portable game system, excellent

Firstly I'd like to say I'm a 43 year old mom. I got into gaming several years ago and my kids and I have a lot of fun with the Nintendo DS. We have had the original DS, DS Lites, DSi's, and now the DSi XL. I got an XL for myself. My son has many GBA games so he doesn't want one (because the DSi XL cannot play any GBA - Gameboy Advance- games) and my daughter thought it was too big to be portable. She likes something that fits easily into a backpack or jacket pocket. Although I think the XL could I'd probably agree if you are going for portability then the regular DSi should do you just fine. The reason I chose the XL is because I play primarily at home and I play a lot of puzzle games. Someimes these types of games are hard to see, especially the seek and find. I'm hoping this larger sized one helps that.

Even though I knew it was larger it is LARGER than I thought. That's a good thing because it is almost more like a PDA or something as far as size. Nice and substantial. It is also heavier than I anticipated. This is the only thing I'm a little concerned with as I like to play laying in bed at night and sometimes I'll play for a couple of hours. I would not want my hand getting extra tired holding the unit up. Additionally it is not as easy to hold this one handed and put the stylus in the other. It might be a fine line but it doesn't quite feel as comfortable as the DSi in that regard. It feels similar to how the PSP would feel if you held it one handed. Slightly off balance. Edited to Add: Played for 2 hours last night. Although it took a while I did find a comfortable position to hold the XL. It is not as comfortable for extended periods as the regular DSi but it did not get too heavy and my arms did not get sore. I'm quite relieved!

The top part actually has an audible click when you open up the unit. The DSi did not have this click although one of our DS Lite units did. The regular DSi opened smoothly without any catches--this one does not. There is definitely a click. The hinge looks strong enough. We lost one DS Lite to the hinge crack issue so I'm glad to see these hinges look sturdy. The other thing regarding the hinges is that the top piece moves a little when you move the unit. It is not super floppy but it does move when the unit does. I tested it against the DSi and the DS Lite and it took more effort to make those cover or top pieces move. It may be the weight itself which causes this. I will be keeping an eye on my hinges though just to be sure.

It connected right up to my internet with no problems. I went into the DSi shop and I didn't notice any difference between the XL and my regular DSi. Flawless. I must say, though, that I HATE that I could not take my DSi games with me to this upgrade (Nintendo is so far behind the ball on this and it is one of few complaints I have of Nintendo). Lame Nintendo. Seriously lame!

I got the bronze. It has a nearly black top and the inside is black. The bronze is only on the bottom and sides and it is definitely bronze. From the pictures online it looks more chocolate brown but it is not. I wavered back and forth with this and burgundy. I have not seen the burgundy out of the box but suspect it looks gorgeous. The glossy top looks like an overcoat similar to what is put on cars and trucks. Not like how the DS Lite covers were (although in two tone color this one is nearly exactly the same as the DS Lite Crimson or Blue with the colors in the same places and black in the same places except for the top because this one has the bronze color around the edges and the DS Lite's had the crimson or blue).

It does not feel "matte" on the bottom. It has a slightly grainy feel--not sure how to describe it. Kind of like how the non shiny cover of my printer feels. I remember when I got the DSi it almost seemed grainy and powdery. Not so with the XL.

Overall I'm very happy with the color-its classy!

Screen: This was my big worry. So far those worries are fairly groundless. I've tested out several types of games and in most apsects it is absolutely as good as the regular DSi. For the most part I get no pixelation or stretching and I definitely haven't noticed any ghosting or lines. While I was playing Bejeweled Twist I did notice that the gems were not as crisp as they are on the regular DSi. For me it was noticable but not bothersome. They were not blurry just a little more fuzzy than normal.

Edited to Add: I've tried several additional games and haven't noticed any issues except on games like Lunar Knights which already had a more pixelated look even on my DS Lite and regular DSi. Just slightly more noticable here but again not enough to impact. If I wasn't such a video game addict I likely wouldn't notice but I play every day.

My original DSi had several problems (Nintendo sent me a replacement)-this one has none of them. The battery cover does not "cave" in like my DSi and the insert window around the touch screen is solid--no light shows through. This XL feels as if it is a much higher quality console.

I've played with the regular stylus and the bigger pen type stylus. Either is fine but I prefer the regular stylus. The pen stylus might be good for someone who likes to hold the stylus like a pen but it is not a make or break for me.

The other functions (camera and the settings) worked well. No problems encountered. The charger looks to be the same as the regular DSi and this unit fits fine in my G Pak organizer. Edited to Add: Sound--it is actually slightly better sounding than the regular DSi. It feels as if it almost has a deeper sound. More like surround type sound. Also if you have a regular DSi there is a point when you are adjusting sound where it goes from quieter to regular and almost seems like it skips a step. The XL does not do this -- the sound progression is very good. I put in my Dragon Quest V as the music is very majestic and it felt more like it was enveloping me in the sound than a regular DSi (tested it with my daughters).

Overall I'm very happy and will update with the weight issue if it becomes a problem. Other than that I'm excited to go play my games and see them on the big screen! Nintendo DSi XL - Midnight Blue - Portable Game System - Nintendo Dsi - Handheld - Excellent'
