Wireless Network - youtube, wireless network

Chose this model because it had streaming, DLNA, and wireless built-in (you don't need a separate dongle). I have not been disappointed in any of its functions. Wireless connectivity was a breeze - setup was straightforward and this model accepts a 32-character WPA2 security key (unlike previous LG TVs and Blu-ray player models which were limited to 18-20 characters, as I discovered when I bought a wireless dongle for our TV!). The wireless connection seems to be much more stable than with the other wireless devices we have. I occasionally have to turn off and on again to get a connection on startup, but this is unsurprising given how flaky our router is ... :-)

Blu-ray playback is really good. Our first Blu-ray disc looked grainy and I was concerned until I read various forum discussions that criticized this movie transfer. Many Blu-ray movies are apparently intentionally grainy because this duplicates the "film" experience that the director intended. You can use the movie mode on your TV to reduce graininess as this lowers the sharpness setting. Our second Blu-ray disc was really smooth and detailed, as were most of the other discs. Playback resolution is excellent, you can see every pore on someone's face and the depth of field is amazing. There were no stutters, freezes or glitches with any of the discs we have played. DVD upscaling is also good - I decided it is not worth replacing any DVDs with Blu-ray discs as the upscaled playback in 1080p looks just as good as Blu-ray playback.

Wireless streaming from Netflix was absolutely painless, once I worked out that the "Netflix ESN" that the player provides in the network setup menu is NOT the code that you need to use for Netflix connection setup. You need to select the LG Premium menu icon which accesses premium streaming services, select Netflix and get the connection code from the setup menu there. Enter the code once on the Netflix website ("Activate a Netflix ready device" in your account settings) and Netflix streaming works automatically after that. Hopefully my experience will save other people hours of trying to connect with the wrong code! Netflix streaming is excellent quality, much better than broadcast TV for most shows. The player seems to stream seamlessly from Netflix with almost no stutters or degraded resolution issues, even for HD movies. The only issues I have seen are when my internet connection is congested (Comcast net access is pretty bad on Friday evenings and Saturdays in my area). I am impressed.

A recent firmware update (April 2011) added Amazon Video on Demand, which also works great! It is really cool to have these services. The device also offers Vudu, Pandora, Napster etc. but I haven't used those. Firmware updates are easy, although these do take around 5-10 minutes to load via wireless connection - you need to keep your nerve and not turn off the player, thinking nothing is happening. Eventually, you get a message saying that the download has loaded and the player turns off and on again. If the download fails (which did happen once), the device is not affected (good design).

I was really impressed by how painless it was to set up media streaming from a PC using DLNA. A copy of Nero Home Media Server essentials was supplied on CD - I installed this, the player automatically detected my PC and presented me with a list of files I could play from the media folder. This was *so* easy! DLNA file-streaming has worked brilliantly: I only experienced problems with one, huge (10 GB) home movie file that stuttered and stopped. Then I discovered the USB connection on the right-front panel of the player. I had been so taken with all of the streaming solutions that I overlooked the easiest way to play media files, which is from an external hard drive or flash drive! The BD670 played the huge file from an external hard drive with no problems. Since then, the player has played everything I have thrown at it: AVI and MKV, etc. using lots of different codecs. With 3 firmware updates in the month that I have owned it, I have a lot of confidence that it is being updated constantly to play all of the latest disc and file formats. So I am a very happy bunny indeed!

UPDATE: *** Hulu-Plus just appeared on the premium services (network access) menu, as of the July 30th software update! I can't vouch for the quality, because I am not a member. But the demo videos seem to play just fine ... :-) LG BD670 3D Wireless Network Blu-ray Disc Player with Smart TV

I bought this player a month ago and wanted to wait and get some ample use time with it before I left a review. The LG BD670 is my second standalone blu-ray player, where my first was the LG BD390 (2009 model). (It also really says something when in 2009 I paid $330 for the BD390, yet only 2 years later pay only $154 for the BD670.) I decided to go with LG again because of my experience with past performance and they give all the features I want. As with most blu-ray players like this one firmware updates are a must, so as soon as I got the player connected to my network (wireless) I got it updated to the latest firmware. So far I am pretty impressed with most, but not all aspects of this player. There are 3 main viewing methods I use to watch videos with this player: discs (30%), USB (30%) and streaming/wireless (40%). I'll give detailed reviews of these since they're what I use.

* DISCS: With both the ability to stream AND watch video files via the USB port (as with the 390) I don't watch as many discs as I use to. There are now of course 2 types of video discs, DVD and blu-ray. What some people don't understand is that DVD and blu-ray are 2 completely different formats, each with there own disc format. The only thing that they have in common (besides playing A/V streams) is that they both have the same SIZE disc.

- Blu-rays: ** See UPDATES @ the end of my review about this! ** When I first watched a blu-ray on my BD390 paired with my (then new) Vizio 42" 1080p 120Hz HDTV I definitely saw the improvement over DVD with a much sharper, clearer picture with much more detail. In fact it sometimes sucks to have that much detail for some of the older/low budget movies that I have on blu-ray because it allows you to see just how bad some of the special effects were (wires, etc.)! I thought the picture couldn't get any better on my Vizio because I thought that what the BD390 was giving it was as good as what the TV could produce. Well, when I watched some of my blu-rays on the same TV with the BD670...it turned out I was wrong! This player gives noticeable improvement when it comes to playing blu-rays when compared to the BD390. The picture IS actually even sharper/clearer and the colors are more vibrant; not in any grand, vast improvement kind of way, but it is noticeable. I've played about a dozen or so blu-rays on it thus far, but it's been able to play them all without any problems whatsoever...say for one title (so far). "Daybreakers". I know this title plays just fine because the disc would play in the 390. When I put this disc in to play in the 670, it starts to load up the main menu with its movie icon/progress bar, but then stops about 3/4 of the way through. However the sound will continue to play for the trailers with just a small patch of the video on the screen showing beside half of the logo. I "next track" all of the trailers to try and get to the menu (pressing the "disc menu" button only gives me the "circle cross" icon telling me it can't do that), but once I'm past all the trailers and the menu is suppose to load up...nothing. It just sits there and doesn't load up anything. I called LG to make them aware of this problem and the woman I talked to said she would pass along this info to their firmware dept. and look into fixing the problem. (Who knows how long that might take though?!) Hopefully this one title is a rarity, but it makes me wonder out of the over 100 titles on blu-ray I do own and have yet to play on this machine, how many of those might encounter this same kind of problem?

- DVD's: ** See UPDATES @ the end of my review about this! ** Surprisingly, this unit DOES have a slight problem when it comes to playing DVD's! You think the one thing they could get right for this player is to play DVD's with no problems whatsoever, but sadly no. The audio/video plays fine, but every chapter change there is a half-second skip in the play (more for the audio than the video). It's barely noticeable, but it IS noticeable. It's not enough to really bother me, but I can understand other people being bothered by it. If it happened more often in the play, then it would probably get on my nerves more. This is a problem that LG is already aware of and says is working to fix in a future firmware update, but still I contacted them via email about this just to add my complaint to the list. Other than that there is no other problems I've experienced. The audio/video quality is great and every single DVD loads up and plays, even some region 0/PAL DVD's I got from Australia.

* USB: This is the main reason I bought and have stuck with the LG model blu-ray players. I have plenty of USB flash drives, not to mention external HD's where I have all my media files backed up on, other things I download from various sources. I just transfer them to a flash drive and plug it into the port and start watching. This player is a bit different from the 390 in that the USB, not the disc source is the main source it defaults to. I can have a disc already loaded in the unit when I turn it on, yet if you have a USB drive plugged in, it will ask if you want to play something from that first instead of loading up the disc. So far, it has played every single video file/format (.mkv, .mpeg, .avi, .mp4, .m4v) I've thrown at it with no problems at all. I LOVE this ability.

* Streaming/Wireless: Not only does this unit have the USB port up front to play video/music/picture files off of external drives, but with the wireless it has the ability to use DLNA to stream media from your computer (which I haven't messed with yet.) This unit has dual-band wireless, meaning it uses both 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz bands. This is especially useful for those who have a dual-band router (such as myself), so there is less chance of a dropped connection or decrease in connection speed. Mostly all of the streaming I do with the 670 is from LG's Premium service, i.e. Netflix, Pandora, etc. This is definitely where the 670 has improved over the 390 with a lot more services and better interfaces. The interface menu for Netflix has VASTLY improved from the 390 with more choices to look up movies and easier navigation of the "instant queue". The only other Premium service I've used so far is Pandora which is nice too. I have yet to try out any of the other services, and don't plan to for the foreseeable future. I will note that when I first did the firmware update (no problems) then loaded up the Premium service, it started to do an update for the program, but said it failed and just loaded up Premium as normal. The second time I loaded it up it attempted the update again and was successful. All of the movies I've streamed have played fine with no dropped connections/rebuffering and the quality has been at least DVD or better.

Overall, for the time being, I'm satisfied with this player; but only with the understanding that the problems it has will be fixed in future firmware update(s). As these blu-ray players get more and more complex with all the different features they have, it also means there's more chance for various and unforeseen bugs like the ones this player still suffers from will pop-up, hence the need for the firmware updates. I know a number of people believe that they should be like the old DVD players and just work straight out of the box and I wish they did too. In a perfect world they would, but this is far from a perfect world isn't it? These players are becoming more and more like computers, various hardware and software meant to work together to perform certain tasks without errors or conflicts. However ANYONE with a computer knows that it's not that easy. I modify/upgrade hardware and some programs (software) on my system all the time and sometimes these changes cause conflicts. A change in hardware, even with the latest drivers can cause unforeseen problems with other hardware or software. A new update to a driver can cause the hardware it's suppose to improve to work less efficiently or program update can cause conflicts with other software. Most of the time this doesn't happen or can be easily resolved, but sometimes it does. This is the same for these new players. A firmware update meant to fix one issue can cause another. The companies that manufacture these players can only do so much beta-testing before they have to release them into the real world. That is when we, the consumer whom these devices are intended for, put them through their real world paces that the manufacturer simply can't do. There are so many variations (different DVD's, blu-rays, vidoe files, streaming, etc.) made by different studios and other companies that all use various manufacturing/specification standards that it would be virtually impossible for the manufacturers to try and test them all on these players, when they themselves have their own standards and specifications. Read reviews for any other blu-ray player out there right now and I defy you to find one single player that has no complaints against it. I'm not trying to defend this players shortcomings, I'm just saying I understand (more than some people) why they exist and at the same time am trying to make other people understand why they exist.

With this review I am trying to inform you, the consumer about this player. It is a good player and will be an even better one once these small problems it has are fixed in firmware updates. If you buy this player now, be aware of the aforementioned problems and be patient for the firmware fixes. If you are turned off by these problems I have experienced and/or problems mentioned by other reviewers which I have not experienced; either wait until these problems have been addressed to purchase or simply look into buying a different player. Once firmware for these problems have been released and fixes the player, I will update by review accordingly.

**UPDATE: 6/15/11**

After contacting LG a couple times and browsing the AVS forums, it seems that the DVD skip was introduced in the latest firmware update that was put out in late April. It should be fixed in the next update along with a few other little things. So the fault lies not in the player, but the latest firmware. (Just so people will know.)

**UPDATE: 6/20/11**

A new firmware update was released just after my last update. It didn't come up automatically, I went into the "Setup" section to check (like I do every few days, just in case). I updated to this newest version to see if any problems were fixed. For the DVD "chapter change" 1/2 second skip problem, I can say it's been fixed for the most part. I've only watched 3 or 4 DVD's so far (a couple movies and a TV series episode) and I only experienced the skip intermittently or not at all. For 1 or 2 of the movies the skip happened like once in the beginning and a few times closer towards the end, for the other movie and the TV episode I watched, I didn't experience the skip at all. For that particular blu-ray title problem "Daybreakers", this has been fixed (or maybe it was half my fault from the start)! What I discovered is that the reason "Daybreakers" wouldn't load up in the first place is because I always had a USB drive plugged into the front when I tried to load the movie! I don't know why this interferes with this particular title ONLY (so far) and not any other I've loaded up, but it does! I want to say that before this newest update I HAD already tried having the flash drive unplugged from the front to see if it made a difference, so I'm not sure if this update had anything to do with it or not. If you are having trouble with a particular blu-ray (like "Daybreakers") not loading up AND you have a USB drive plugged in, THAT could be the problem! I updated the rating for my review to 4 stars since LG is starting to release firmware updates that are making improvements and are getting the player to proper working order again.

**UPDATE: 6/25/11**

Yet another update was released on 6/21 which, it appears, COMPLETELY fixes the DVD skip problem. I watched some more DVD's and I haven't experienced it on ANY of them, so I guess that problem has been squared away. Since any of the problems I've experienced have now been fixed I'll stop doing these updates, especially since their making my review even longer than it is already! Straight Leg - straight leg, jeans

I have been searching for jeans for over a year. I prefer a straight leg and have thin legs. The skinny skinny jeans for teen girls don't work for me, but everything else seemed so baggy in the legs! These jeans are comfortable for me and don't stretch out like other stretch jeans. THe waist band is perfect and holds its shape so I don't feel like they are falling off. Yeah!!!!!! My search is over, I hope they don't stop making them. Levi's 525 Misses Perfect Waist Mid Rise Straight Leg Jean with Tummy Slimming Panel, Vintage Frost, 10 Medium

I love the jeans, but they do run a bit small. I wear size 6, but they are a little too tight for me. I do hope though they will stretch to adjust my figure in the end. I really love the model and the tummy slimming panel. They look really flattering.

I am a slim, petite size 4 with a very straight figure. I have essentially no waist or hips. These jeans have a mid rise that fits me just below the belly button and they hug my waist line without too much room in the hips. These jeans are for us non-curvy women who like a snug fitting jean.

I have a VERY hard time finding jeans that not only fit but are also comfortable. These do both - they have enough stretch so sitting and bending can be done easily; they don't lose their shape and over all, for me, are probably one of the best fitting pair of jeans I've ever had.

These jeans are close to exactly what I've been looking for. I have hated shopping for jeans since the popularity of the low, low waist and propensity for one's panties to show the moment one bends over a little! These are slim fitting, but not tight and stay where they belong (mid rise, just under the waist) with absolutely no GAPPING! They may run one size smaller than expected (probably because of the slim fit) so take this into consideration when ordering. I usually wear a size 2 or 4 regular in GAP jeans (depending on the style), but need a size 6 medium in these Levi's for a perfect fit. Hard to find all the colors I want (wish they offered them in black), but well worth the effort to look. May be a bit over priced for the quality of the denim (what ever happened to real denim weight material?), but it's nearly impossible to find jeans which are 100% cotton any more. Overall I am very satisfied and now have six pair of 525 Straight Leg and six pair of 525 Boot Cut jeans. Essentially, I live in jeans!

A perfect fit for those (like me) with a short torso and no hips. The little bit of spandex adds to the comfort and appearance. I have spent hours searching for a different brand of jean but none can compare to the fit of Levi's. I WISH Levi would make the 525's in a long so I can pair them with boots :( The 525's fit perfect accenting all the right curves. - Levis - Straight Leg - Levis Jeans - Jeans'

Balance Ball - exercise ball, exercise

I previously owned a Flexaball brand stability ball; I'm not sure if it was defective or just poor quality, but I needed to add air every time I used it, which became extremely tedious. Finally, I decided to get myself a high quality ball, and after much research (including many recommendations from others), I chose Thera-Band, and I couldn't be more pleased. I have the red 55-centimeter ball, which seems to work very well for my height (just under 5'5", but recommendations for ball height can vary widely). Unlike my previous ball, the Thera-Band NEVER needs additional air added; I've owned it for about a year now, and there has been absolutely no noticeable deflation. In addition, my new Thera-Band is burst-resistant, with material that feels thicker and more durable than my old ball. The only (minor) issue with this ball is that it does not come with its own pump; I just use my old one, but you could also buy one separately and/or use a bicycle pump. Overall, however, I've found this ball to hold up well under regular use (about once per week), and I would definitely recommend it. Thera-Band Exercise Ball, Green

As many of the reviews state, the Thera-band exercise ball is of good quality and comes with an excellent booklet of exercises and activities. After the ball finished outgassing (it smelled like vinyl flooring for about 12 hours) I came across a longer-term problem: size. I'm 6' so I ordered the suggested 65 cm/26" ball. Unfortunately the ball is closer to 20" in height. I thought I'd confused diameter and circumfrence, but after reviewing my geometry realized that wasn't the problem. These are small balls, no way around it. I recommend ordering a larger ball than suggested by the manufacturer.

I received my new red thera-ball about 1 week ago. I am approximately 5'1" tall, to give you a reference point.

The good things:

Very solid construction and thick material. I feel very safe doing strength exercises, especially since I know that the ball is burst resistant. The ball does not come with a pump, but does have adapters so you can take your own pump and easily plug it in for inflation. The ball also comes with an extra plug for the inflation port and a neat little gadget to remove it for deflation because you have to inflate it to pretty high pressure to achieve the ball's maximum size. There is also an interesting measuring tape type thing to make sure you don't overinflate the ball.

The not so good things:

The balls do eventually reach their maximum size as stated on the package. However, you really have to inflate them to a high pressure to reach that maximum size, which results in a ball that is very firm. If you like your exercise ball slightly squishy, order up a size or two so that way you have some wiggle room to leave it slightly deflated and comfy, but still the correct size. I ordered the correct ball for my height, but my long legs compared to my height make me feel like maybe I should have gone 1 size higher.

The things to be aware about:

Theraballs are intended to be used in a clinical setting for physical therapy, so when you receive your package, you get the bare minimum you need to get started, not a fully loaded consumer package. You'll need to add a bicycle pump or some other pump to this purchase if you don't have one. Other than that, have fun with your solidly built, very colorful Theraball! :-)

I purchased this ball to help with a recent back injury. I'm 5'10" and accordingly purchased the 65cm ball designed for people from 5'7" to 6'1". Even when fully pumped up, it was still too small for me. I know that it's probably not the ball's fault that I have long legs, but you should make sure that if you know you have long legs, you think about getting the next bigger size ball. I've got a friend who was willing to buy the ball from me, so I didn't have to deal with the return process. The ball itself was very nice, very durable and comfortable. If the ball weren't too small, I'd be thrilled with the purchase.

I think the ball is very high quality however I think the high cost of shipping is just a way for them to keep their prices low but still increase their profit. My ball arrived within a week and was shipped UPS but was packaged in nothing but a UPS shipping envelope and for this I paid $9.45 to ship a $13 ball! I WAS CONTACTED BY THE COMPANY AFTER POSTING MY REVIEW AND THEY ADJUSTED THE SHIPPING COSTS TO A MORE REASONABLE LEVEL. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY THEY HANDLED THE SITUATION.

The ball itself is very sturdy but seems to be smaller than indicated. I am 5'3" and had a 65mm ball and found some of the moves very difficult because the ball was too large. I purchased a 55mm ball and now have the exact opposite problems. Sitting on the ball is fine, but when I need to lie over it or pull it into my side it's not large enough. If you're ordering you may want to consider the next larger size. - Exercise Ball - Exercise - Balance Ball Chair - Ball Chair'

Remodeling

I've only helped a neighbour lay a wooden floor before so I needed all the help i could get. This book is informative with good pictures and ideas. It details everything from the tools you need to the different types of flooring and how to lay them

I now feel confident to embark on purchasing and laying my own wooden floor. Highly recommended for a beginner The Complete Guide to Flooring (Black & Decker)

I suspect that one of the most insane decisions in my life is deciding to redo my kitchen - on my own. This makes all kinds of practical sense, given what labor costs. But I am incorrigibly un-handy. But in a fit of pseudo-parsimony (you never really save any money doing something yourself - you just buy tools instead of labor) and a determination to recover my macho I have sailed into the unknown of plumbing, cabinetry, plastering, tiling, and, worst of all, flooring. No sooner did it become obvious that replacing the floor was inevitable than I realized that I was completely clueless about what to use and how to go about it. Of course there is no lack of people who will tell you what they would do, but this is one of those things that you live with forever and it needed to be wholly what I wanted. At this point I scanned the shelf of the local handyman's heaven and found this little cheery volume. For the most part it's quite practical. Chapters on planning, design, and preparation nurse you through the start up and dreaded removing of the old floor stages. Then there are chapters on hardwood floors, ceramic and stone floors, resilient flooring, and carpeting. More follows on finishing and repair. More than enough to answer the basic questions of how to close the knowledge gap and make a sensible decision about how to proceed. There are countless photos, and the writing style is clear, even if it is a bit dull. Of course, dull is a good thing when making a major household change. One gets excited when the day is over and the job done, not by unexpected drama in the kitchen. This seems as good a reference as any I've seen, and covers far more than I ever wanted to know. I expect that someday soon my cats will be walking on something entirely new. Complaining as they go, of course.

I've bought this book for my laminate floor project. The book turned out to be a disappointment: it gives no more information than I found on a leaflet from a laminate crate. With great details and pictures it explains very basic things, like it targeted for a 6-years old doing his school science project. But it omits really important details and nuances: how to calculate a layout so you wouldn't end up with the 1-inch wide last row, where to use which molding and how to install it, and so on. And if some unexperienced and not technically-inclined person starts his project using only this book, he very quickly may find himself in the troubles, with lot of materials and time wasted.

This book is great to help you with basic floor projects and designs. Gives information on tools, materials and any misc items needed for any floor project. Has great pics with the instructions. This is my second book, I wore the first one out and had to buy another. I've used it for every floor project we have done in our house. Wonderful book I highly recommend it.

This is a great book for the do it yourself person. Great full color pictures. Complete step by step details on how to do a particular job. Have looked at several books like this and the Black and Decker book was tops. Not only does this book give you step by step instructions for a project, it also gives you a list of items needed prior to starting project. FYI I am fenmale and feel I can do any floor job with the aide of this book.

I'm a novice DIYer and new homeowner of an old place, and I like to get all the help I can before talking to experts. This helped me get informed on some flooring options, and was certainly helpful with illustrating to my carpenter what I wanted in different areas of my current renovation project. I probably would rate it higher if I've had the chance to do the work myself, but that's for later.'

Iphone Car Charger

We own several Palm Pre's and wanted to use this dual charger to power them up in our car. Unfortunately this device can't provide sufficient power to charge 2 at once. It can charge one Palm Pre at a time, but can't charge up 2 at a time.

If you have cell phones, or devices that need 800-1,000ma each, this charger can't do it. Total power out seems to be about 800ma split between the two USB ports.

Other than being weak in the power department, the unit appears to be well constructed, it does fit 2 USB cords comfortably, and has a charge indicator light so you know when its in use. Scosche Dual USB Car Charger

This is a cheap way of charging any device that will charge via a regular USB port. I have used it in my car for several months without a problem. It did a fine job with my AT&T Tilt phone and my iPod.

Before you invest in this or any other standalone USB charger, you should make sure that your device will charge via USB cable alone. Many phones (Motorola Razr is one) these days have what looks like a standard USB connection but require special software or adapters before they will charge.

I got this for about $5 or $10 at Wal-Mart. Great investment.

Just picked up this item from Best Buy today. Had to get a charger for my car because my IPOD interface for my stereo does not charge the 3G IPHONE. :( I was initially going to get the DLO car charger for my 3G IPHONE until the cashier told me of the Scosche USB12V2 Dual USB Car Charger. It sounded ideal since my fiance and I both have a 3G IPHONE and won't have to fight for power when riding together. Ensured that I didn't get that uncompatibility error before leaving Best Buy. Left Best Buy with 80% charge and was fully charged by the time I got home in 20 minutes.

Note: Have to use your own supplied Iphone/Ipod USB cable with adapter.

Here are the electrical specifications that were shipped with the Schosche USB12V2A Dual-USB Car Charger I received:

Power input: 12-24 VDC, 1A

Power output: 5 VDC, 2A (1A per port)

Which is just what I was hoping for.

It sure would be nice if this basic information was published in the product description here on Amazon in the future!

This charger charges my iPhone 3GS without a problem. It is also compact and aesthetically appealing. I bought it so I could charge a multitude of USB-powered devices and it works for everything I've tried with the one exception:

A Garmin Nuvi cannot be charged from this device. The Garmin Nuvi thinks it's connected to the USB port of a computer and goes into a computer mode when plugged into this device. Technically, the Nuvi is charging but it can't be used in the meantime. This is most likely a shortcoming of the Garmin Nuvi than of this particular charger.

This is a great car charger. I love the flexibility of being able to plug any USB cable into it. I bought this to replace a lost car charger, and it has exceeded my expectations. I've used this product to charge: Sprint HTC Evo 4G, Sprint HTC Hero, Apple iPhone 3G, Apple iPhone 3GS, Jawbone Headset, and even an Apple iPad. I want to specifically mention the iPad, becuase most USB chargers do not work with an iPad due to its increased wattage requirements. This works flawlessly - even while charging a cell phone too!

I ordered this about a year ago form newegg for dirt cheap (it was a special deal). This charger is a piece of cake to take apart. You just unscrew the top and remove the spring and fuse and it pops apart. It charges my Sandisk Fuze without a problem. However, I recently got a Nokia N900, but this charger would not charge the phone. This is because the N900 and many other phones use the USB charging standard in which the data pins (pins 2 + 3; the middle pins) are shorted out. So I took the charger apart, took out my soldering iron, and soldered the top usb port data pins together. I put it back together and the top port now charges my phone. Also, after the "hack" it is able to charge my sister's ipod touch. Way cheaper than an expensive charger from the cell phone manufacture. See this link for more info: [...]

I wanted a car charger for my new Droid but didn't want to pay $30 at the Verizon store. I searched Amazon and stumbled on to this. I ordered it and couldn't be more satisfied with it.

The vast majority of cell phone car chargers have a non-detachable cord with a jack on the other end that plugs into your phone, and cost $20-30. If the cable or plug develops a short, you have to replace the whole thing. If you're on a road trip and have multiple devices, like a Garmin, a cell phone, an iPod, then you have to swap out the various chargers unless you're lucky enough to have a car with two or more power outlets. Even then, it's a mess with all those chargers.

This dual USB charger requires you to purchase a separate USB cable (with a standard USB jack on one end and whatever size jack you need for your device on the other end). Amazon has plenty to choose from, and they're pretty inexpensive. Or, you can simply use the charging cable that came with your device.

I find it incredibly handy to simultaneously charge my Droid phone and my iPod from one power outlet. On road trips, my wife and I can both charge our phones from one power outlet. This is very convenient. This Scosche charger appears to be very well-made, compared to other car chargers I've used. It's solid, I'd be surprised if I didn't get many years worth of use out of it.

Best of all, it is flexible enough to charge just about any device that can be charged from a USB port on a computer. I may replace my phone or get a different MP3 player in the next year or two, but I won't have to buy another car charger.

Highly recommended!'

Excercise - conditioning, mir weighted vest

I have a 40lb. xvest and wanted to get a weight vest that could handle more weight. The price was right for the 80lb. ZFO, much cheaper than the heavier xvest. The ZFO was delivered an astonishing two days after I ordered it.

As to the details, the ZFO vest is very similar in design to the xvest, a padded clam-shell design, in this case the weights are not 1-lb. iron rods as in the xvest, they are 4-lb. tightly packed bars of sand (in completely enclosed sleeves) that can be slipped into the many pockets on the back and front (two rows on each side) of the vest. So there are twenty of these bars and twenty pockets. Each row has a flap that you velcro fasten over the pockets and there are two straps with connectors and velcro that you use to secure the vest to your body. You can adjust the length of the straps to get the fit you want. The fabric of the vest is thick and strong (again, similar to the xvest) and the quality is good.

I'm happy with the purchase, but a complaint...the two boxes the ZFO come in had no instructions (and there are none on the website) for how you put the vest together, no suggestions as to how to use it (the xvest website is very helpful for suggestions as to the safe, proper use of a weight vest), and no suggestions for maintenance and cleaning!

This didn't bother me as I was already pretty knowledge from having used the xvest. Still, what would it hurt to give the buyer a little guidance? Shame! NEW! ZFO-80LBS Adjustable Weighted Vest (WEIGHTS INCLUDED.One size fits all.)

This was my first experience buying a weighted vest for running and body weight exercises. It is fairly comfortable and adaptable. There are a couple of problems which other people have already noted, mainly that the vest comes with no instructions (they are on the website, but I think a short video would be more helpful as the instructions are not written clearly). The belt system is a little hard to use when using the entire 80lb load. Other than that, I thought it was a great buy. You cannot buy a vest in this weight class within this price range. Trust me, I've looked.

I am totally pleased with this weighted vest. I love how you could remove the weights to customize it for your particular workout. The vest is well constructed and is exactly what I was looking for. The vest is easy to use, very comfortable for my size and you get a great core workout with whatever you do with it. Excellent for plyometrics, a must have for power athletes. I expect great weight loss results with this vest.

I am very pleased with the ZFO weight vest. This is a great product and shipping was surprisingly fast, arriving only a couple days after I ordered the vest.

The weight sits evenly on your body and the attachments are all solid, although I would half liked a loop or two for the lower belts instead of just velcro. Regardless, I went for a jog with it this evening and there were no problems with the belts coming loose or anything.

Overall, this ends up being a good product and the amount of weight and versatility you get with the vest at this price point is unparalleled.

I bought one of these from the manufacturer's website about three months ago, and have been using it three times a week for body weight exercises like push-ups, inverted rows, etc. It's been a very handy thing to have, and it seems very durable. As others have said, it doesn't come with any kind of documentation, but really, there's not much to it. It does what it needs to do; I've got no complaints there.

One caution: I sent a question to the manufacturer via e-mail using the contact form on their website, and never received so much as an acknowledgement, much less an answer. I don't know whether the form is broken or they simply ignored my message. Either way, that could have been very frustrating had there been some kind of problem with my order.

I spent a while looking for a good vest weighing about 60 pounds while at the same time being being of good price and quality. Much to my surprise, I was able to find an 80 pound weighted vest of excellent quality. This is an invaluable tool to aid in my workouts. You won't find a better one for the same weight/price/quality value.

i ordered a 30lb air flow weighted vest and a set of mir shoulder pads to go with the vest and one extra mir air flow vest without the weights.i only received the 30lb air flow vest, no shoulder pads or extra vest.i tried calling the numbers listed on mirs website and got no answer at any time only an answering machine that i left several detailed messages on asking for clarification on where my stuff was and i got no call backs at all.i have also tried emailing them and got no response.so basically they have kept 38.99 of my money and did not fulfill my order as advertised.i would not recommend buying from them to anyone because of the total lack of customer service and failure to not only send me my complete order but the outright ignoring of my calls and emails and keeping/stealing my money.

I have many things i use to workout with. The vest is honestly the most versitile though. I use it for running, push ups, sit ups, pull ups and many more activities. It fits amazingly and snug so it doesnt move around while i am in motion. If i could reccomend any item to a person who wants to get cut, increase physical strength and endurance, and recieve that amazing body you have always wanted i would suggest any of the vest. I have the 80 pound vest just because it seems the most reasonable in the fact that you can lower the weight of it and you will always have a goal to reach which would be to use more weight each time you use it.

I recieved this item in 48hrs in two seperate boxes even though I picked standard 5-7 day shipping. Others complained there were no instructions on how to put the two together...but my package came with clear intructions.

If you have every used a weight vest they are fairly uncomfortable...but the MiR ZFO fits very well. It doesn't move around too much even during plyometric exercises. If you never used a weight vest 80lbs is A LOT weight. It is a challenge to get this on by yourself with all 80lbs...but once on very comfortable. My one complaint is it goes down below my belly button..but also I am only 5'7" so it makes bending at the waist a bit difficult. - Conditioning - Fitness Gear - Mir Weighted Vest - Exercise'

Awesomeness - awesomeness, assassins creed

I purchased my Collector's Edition at a local Best Buy but decided to write a review here.

I have a couple of hours worth of the game, so I can not properly critique the game aside from stating that it holds true to the traditional game mechanics and controls with some exciting new elements added all taking place within the vast and beautiful city of Rome. It has a decently intriguing story with a well written dialogue. I felt more of an addictive sense of urgency from the ACII story line that kept me really hooked, although Brotherhood is good, I can easily put it down. At least for now, maybe the excitement will build? The game thus far presents the feeling of being a massive add on to its predecessor rather then being a full fledged sequel, which was expected by most, I believe.

I have only played one round of multiplayer, so I'll reserve my judgment. I do look forward to exploring it more. However, I do dislike that you can't have a friend playing on the same console, though it makes sense considering the stealthy game play, it's still a bummer.

The primary focus of this review is regarding the contents of the Collector's Edition. The Jack In The Box (Doctor) is made of hard and rubbery plastic. The paint job is very bland with no highlights or shading and lacks precision in some places. There is even a patch of noticeable clear glue on his face where it must have dripped down when they attached his hat. That's Chinese quality for you. Despite that, its not a horrible collectable (it has a simplistic charm) and it does pop up very quickly when you unlock it. The Art Book is very small, not even the size of an XBox game case. The pictures are gorgeous, however tiny, containing mostly landscapes and different groups of people, but not all of them. The Map is made from the same material as XBox game manuals, small and folded up. It's certainly not intended for reference, just decoration. The backside has the same picture as the game case with printed signatures from the more prominent Ubisoft team members who worked on the game. The Special DVD is not very expansive, there are a couple of short summaries about story and production (not a "making") of the game, handful of promotional trailers, a brief black and white comic preview and a six song soundtrack you can listen to if you play the game or download it. The special additional single player content and multiplayer character (Officer) were a nice bonus.

Personally, I am a little disappointed, but I don`t regret my purchase. I would advise waiting for a better deal on the price for both the game itself and the Collector's Edition. Ultimately, it depends on how much you love the series (and collectables) to determine whether it's worth the extra $40. Hope this helps! Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Collector's Edition

It took a while for me to get into this game. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Assassin's Creed fan and I've been following all the news for this game ever since January when the first news broke out. The game feels like an expansion of ACII and Ezio's story is much much slower and less climactic than Assassin's Creed II. Other than the attack on Monteriggioni in the beginning, the game's progression is rather bland and it lacks the sense of purpose that other AC games have had. You'll spend a lot of time doing missions without really understanding or even caring how it pertains to the overall story, however, the ending of Brotherhood made everything worth while and it'll leave you begging for more. Rome is massive, but I did miss exploring different cities--I kind of felt like I was stuck in one place instead of exploring an immersive world. You do get to play as Desmond in the present much more as well as explore small outside areas of Rome but nothing to the scale of previous AC games. The additional game play content not related to the story is massive. I beat this game only to figure out that I completed just 25% of what's available; you'll definitely get your money's worth. Overall I really enjoyed playing this game and if you're an Assassin's Creed fan, you'll definitely not want to miss out on this addition to the story.

Now to the collectibles! The jack-in-the box was a really cool idea in concept, but Ubisoft cheaped out and used Chinese labour to build it. It smells like cheap plastic and it's just not what I was expecting--the paint job is not very detailed and it weighs a little more than the cardboard box it came in. The jack-in-the-box's poor build quality is making me not want to buy another collector's edition of any AC game in the future. As for the art book, it isn't as expansive as you'd imagine; a Google image search for "Assassin's Creed Brotherhood art" will probably give you all the images available in the book. The piece I was most excited about was the behind the scenes DVD...what a huge disappointment. From the title "behind the scenes" I was expecting something at least a half hour long explaining how the story developed, production details and other interesting things that go into making a game as great as Assassin's Creed but what I got was a half-assed video of the same 3 developers talking about the game in a general manner; as if they had read a 3 paragraph article about the game and were told to talk about the article. I think the DVD was a little over 5 minutes long--I mean my god, bloggers have gone into more details then the DVD did!

Overall, I thought the game was excellent; not necessarily something that should have warranted a full fledged $60 release, but maybe a $30 add-on to AC 2. I feel like the extra content (the other 75% of the game I didn't finish by the time I completed the main story) was just tacked on in an effort to artificially make the game longer. The extra $40 for the cheap collectibles is just...not...worth it to be honest. I work in Graphic Design and I hear a lot from other designers about the costs of mass produced works and it literally must have cost about $6 per unit extra to make the collectibles. This doesn't warrant a $40 extra charge. If the jack-in-the-box was made of wood or maybe even tin and the attention to detail given...DETAIL then maybe $40 would have been justified but a plastic box, a 5 minute exclusive DVD with Youtube videos stuffed in there to make it seem longer, a soundtrack with 6 songs, an artbook that's actually a book and not a booklet just doesn't make this worth it. - Assassins Creed - Awesomeness - Ezio - Ubisoft'
