Kayak Paddle 92 Inchs - kayak paddle, boating

We bought these because they can be used as two canoe paddles or put together and used as a kayak paddle. On the plus side they seem to be sturdy and well made. On the negative they're too heavy and the blades are not designed to use as a kayak paddle. The handles have no tee allowing them to dig into your palms when used as two paddles, so they are not useful as canoe paddles. These are going to the shed and we're buying another kayak paddle. Intex Kayak Paddle / Boat Oars

Although essentially the same as the Intex Sea Eagle oars, the difference is that the oars have two connecting pieces, the paddles, as sold here, only have one. This is fine for a kayak paddle but results in oars that do not stay in the oar locks. The connecting pieces on the oars keep the oars from slipping out.

I use this product as Kayak Paddles for an inflatable kayak. I am a novice to kayaking and probably have been using my kayak once a week through this summer. I use my Kayak Paddles on small lakes, large rivers, and even once on some Class 2 white water. For me these paddles worked perfect my myself and girlfriend. I looked at a lot of places and couldn't find any for less then $35 in the stores. I believe that these for $17 are even better then what I was seeing in the 35-40 range. So for a beginner that is most interested in just getting out on the water and enjoying the weather, these are more then you will ever need.

I just got the paddle, and here are some details of it:

1. It weighs 3.5 pounds, (so, this is not subjetive info; I read reviews here, some say heavy, some say superlight.

now, you can determine. I am a male, 5ft10in tall/160 pounds/strong swimmer, and it feels

a little bit heavy for a paddle in my opinion. So, if you are a regular female, it might

be a concern.)

2. The length of mine is 8 feet and 3/4 of an inch.(I guess there is a small variation for each one, but sure it is

a long sweet one. My kayak is an OldTown Dirigo 120, the

greatest width of the hull is 28 inches, so it needs a 96-inch

paddle.)

3. The connector can be adjusted, as a result, you can twist the angle of the two blades, which is a nice feature.

4. It looks strong and durable.

5. The two plastic blades are quite big, and the blade has a sutble curve, which is nice.

6. The price is unbelievable at Amazon.com.

Initial impression: Strong,a bit heavy, and big, great for males for sure.

I bought these paddles with my Sevylor Tahiti and was initially concerned about their strength and rigidity, But found them to be both strong and rigid. The connector that joins the paddles is simple to use and rigid, they double up as oars.

While this product is fairly inexpensive it performs very well. I've used it for my canoe and dinghy and performs well for both. With the ability to break down into two seperate oars it works very well for when both watercraft are being used at the same time. It is lightweight but still structurally sound.

These were the cheapest on Amazon for $17 each, free shipping when ordering two. They turned out to be perfect for casual use. Sturdy aluminum, secure connector to join the paddles which can be used separately. Hot shots may find them too heavy, but they float and do the job. Plastic paddle also seems sturdy. I also bought the Emotion Spitfire kayak, which I highly recommend, and they go great together. They even come with a carry bag.

Ugly Stick

This rod is great. It is strong enough for a big catfish, yet versatile enough for small bass or trout. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the reel isn't great, but not bad. For the price you can't beat it. Shakespeare Two-Piece Medium Heavy Action Ugly Cat Spinning Combo 7-Feet

great action, great bang for your buck. I brought this as my back up rod for my vacation, it quickly transitioned to my primary rod. You fancy fishermen out there may need more, but for someone casual this had great action and was pretty solid.

These are some really good rods for catfishing. We now have 13 rods and have never had any issues with them at all, weather catching smaller fish or the 40 and 45 lb catfish we frequent. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a very good fishing rod. The reels are decent enough for a short time to use, but if you are looking to catch larger fish, I would suggest changing the reels out to a better type that suits your fishing habbits. But for the price and reliability, you can't beat them!!!!

First off, beginner level fisher here with experience from fishing using two other fishing rod/reel combos from Shakespeare; both light duty poles.

I gave the Ugly Stick Catfish Rod/Reel combo 4-stars because the specific pole I received has the reel on kind of crooked with respect to the first wire guide where the fishing line goes thru. I did some adjusting loosening the twist locks and moving the reel a little bit in line with the eyelet but I'm not so sure if the reel will stay in its correct position permanently. Time will tell.

Other than that, I'm glad I bought this rod as I think it will hold up to the type of bass and catfish I intend to fish for at the pier near me(freshwater/inland) while still allowing me to get a feel for when the fish are there.

As for the reel, I think it's just okay, not good but not bad. It feels just like any other of Shakespeare's entry level combo reel offerings. But the only thing I don't like on this one is that I can't find the switch to let the reel spin in reverse to let the line loose sometimes, either that or this function is just not offered on this reel.

Anyways, this combo would've still garnered 5-stars had I received one with the reel seated properly straight from the manufacturer. But for the price and value I received, I'm really quite happy with this purchase.

p.s. I bought mines directly from Amazon and I was kind of worried my package would come in damaged since the guides seem fragile enough to easily get bent but today I open the door shocked to see this item come in a box meant for a 42" flat panel tv. Yup, a standard box for a tv, not a flimsy piece of cardboard taped up in the shape of nylon rifle case. Amazon, you rock!!!

I was looking for a bass rod. This is as close as I could find on Amazon. A lot of rod and reel combo sets had no real description as to the type of rod set it was. This catfish combo is working out great for bass fishing. About the right "weight" combination. The reel and rod are both good quality. I put some 8 lb test line on it and it is doing the job. I could have put a heavier test line, probably up to 12 lb but I did not what that heavy a line. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a good medium weight rod and reel.

Okay, so I am new to the sport of fishing but that doesn't mean that I cant like the equipment I purchase. Yeah, its not the best of the best, but it is great for a newbie that is trying to find what type of fishing is best for him/her.

I had read the reviews and will agree this pole is worth the price and very happy to have it but the only complaint I have is the reel doesn't have the anti-reverse switch which is handy but other than that it's a great product and worth the money.'

Costume - bellydance wear, hip scarf

I'm a chutney dancer and as soon as I saw it I had to put it on and start dancing!!

The hip scarf came very quickly - less than a week, to be exact. It is very beautiful and has a decent weight, so you will get a great workout while using it.

The coins are very well arranged and sewn and make a beautiful chime while dancing. I would recommended this to anyone looking for a great hip scarf that won't break their wallet - the quality is worth way more than it's price.

The tote bag is an added plus! I was shocked at how large it was. BellyLady Belly Dance Hip Scarf, 480 Gold Coins, Deluxe V-Shape, Tote Bag Included

The hip scarf looks just as beautiful in hand as it does in the photo. The coins have an imprint of what appears to be a Trojan soldier. I said that this product is better than expected because the fabric that the scarf is made of is actually a lightweight black velvet sort of material, and makes me feel confident that it will hold up better than some other scarves I've seen. Even with shipping, this scarf is a very reasonable price and was worth every penny! The extra tote is an added bonus and quite useful.

This is a nicely made, fun skirt. I use it at home w/a belly-dance instructional DVD and we also use it on occasion in my Zumba class. Although I was disappointed that it was originally going to take about one month to receive my items (they come from China, which in itself is a little worrisome), my stuff arrived one week earlier than expected, so that was nice.

This is a beautiful, quality hipscarf. Great value for the money - heavy fabric (almost a chenille) and lots of coins and beads. Makes a beautiful sound when I dance! I highly recommend this product!

I ordered the skirt Aug. 31 and received it Sept 6. This skirt is better than the other belly dancing skirts sold. It has more coins on it and it is durable. The material is rayon, it last longer than velour. I just used this skirt today, it is beautiful, I received compliments on it. I like the heavy coins on it. It allows you to get into the dance more. I would recommend this skirt, the other skirts look cheap. Be prepared to pay for priority shipping to get to you faster. And Amazon.com is the best, I only purchase online from them.

the product seems larger in the picture but it's still the same design. i kind of like it shorter too, so it didn't really matter, especially since it is a great material and quality. IT'S HEAVY!! :D i really wanted a heavier hip scarf that made a lot of noise and this is definitely it! i'm really happy and proud of it :) - Hip Scarf - Bellydance Wear - Costume - Belly Dance'

Economic Collapse - documentary, energy crisis

I saw "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints" at the 2006 Sundance festival and I was blown away. If it's rough and imperfect, it's successfully so; its quirks complement the youthfully wild and tragic themes of this artfully presented memoir. Part of what made the film for me was Dito Montiel's apparent sense of humor in dealing with his past. "AGTRYS" is an infusion of sex, tragedy, violence, and uplifting spirit. I left the theatre feeling great and I've been searching desperately for the DVD ever since. Try it! A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints

This well-made film has galvanizing performances by a young, energetic cast and some wonderful turns by veteran performers, Dianne Wiest and Chazz Palminteri (plus a cameo by Eric Roberts). The cinematography and editing create a constantly kinetic and agitated style of storytelling. The viewer is propelled between past and present, as the central character, Dito, lives and relives the experience of being a teenager 25 years ago on the mean streets of Queens. Based on the memoir of Dito Montiel (who also wrote and directed), the film covers ground we have seen in many other films: coming of age in a working class Italian-American neighborhood, where street talk is rough, violence is everywhere (both in and out of the home), and just getting through childhood alive is a major achievement.

Some viewers may wonder whether Robert Downey, Jr., is the right fit for the role he plays, but if you're a fan, you won't mind his portrayal of a perplexed and troubled man thrust into the position of making amends with a dying father who seems to have loved another man's son more deeply than his own. The DVD has a commentary by the director, an informative making-of featurette including interviews with cast members and the director, plus other material.

Let me start by saying I didn't have any trouble with the coarse language or the incessant contentiousness of the characters. Nor did I have many problems with the sound-delayed presentation of the overlapping lines of dialog, or the "artsy" closed caption-style graphics, or the blacked out scenes or any of the bold, impressionistic choices that director Dito Montiel makes in this allegedly (but not really) autobiographical tale. After all, Dito comes from the hardcore/punk scene, so it's no surprise that he chooses to push the envelope and intentionally agitate his viewers. And I prefer directors to take chances and fail rather than take no chances at all.

The main gripe I have about the film is, though it was very well acted, the writing and the story never make it clear just what Dito's father Monty (Chazz Palminteri) or Dito himself (Shia LaBeouf) see in the troubled and abrasive Antonio (Channing Tatum) character. I understand that Dito might have been just looking up to an older peer, regardless of how unruly or unpleasant he was (or the reasons behind his unpleasantness), but I just couldn't figure out why Monty would in many ways seem to choose Antonio over his own son, Dito. And since these relationships are at the heart of the film, this is a rather major flaw, in my eyes.

The film does make a great case as to why they SHOULDN'T hold Antonio in any esteem, however. Dianne Wiest (in a superb performance as Flori, Dito's mom) is constantly advocating a cautionary approach to Antonio. And when Scottish pal Mike O'Shea (played by the excellent Martin Compston - check out his standout performance in "Sweet Sixteen" if you like him here) says of Antonio, "The guy's a f---in' dick, Dito. It's because of him you're f---ed up," well - I couldn't agree more!

Anyway, I listened to the entire commentary, done by writer/director Montiel himself along with his editor, searching for clues about this character dynamic. And all I really got from the commentary about the story was that Dito (the director) has one thesis statement for this film: "This is a whole movie about people saying nothing, going nowhere." Oh, and he and the editor purposely edited out all the funny parts. Plus Dito admits that the young actors look nothing like the actors who are playing their older selves. Great - thanks for enhancing my viewing experience.

In addition, I think this movie gets too much credit/slack for being an autobiography, when in fact there is a lot of truth-bending (if not breaking) going on here. I don't want to reveal too much, but the fates of both Antonio and his brother Giuseppe are greatly exaggerated in the film. And Nerf takes a completely different course in real life. Which would be fine in a work of fiction, but I think too much value is placed on this film being a true-life memoir, when in fact it is constantly veering into James Frey territory.

To summarize, though the acting is terrific (Dianne Wiest and Rosario Dawson are especially entrancing) and the directing is somewhat fresh and innovative, the story itself ultimately left me cold. And the fact that it's not even truly autobiographical makes it even less remarkable. I'd like to give this film 2.5 stars (an average rating, not a negative one), but the Amazonian star system demands whole integers, so I'll round up to three because I admire Dito's moxie as much as I do his movie.

The DVD itself has some pretty good features: there's a 20 minute "making of" featurette consisting of many interviews with the cast and producer Trudy Styler (aka Mrs. Sting). There's one alternate opening and four alternate endings (both with and without commentary) and a bunch of deleted scenes (again, with or without commentary). There's also the 6 minute "rooftop scene," made by Dito whilst training at Sundance Labs. But if you don't like the movie itself, odds are you won't have too much interest in the features. I say, despite its high Amazon rating, approach this film with caution and maybe rent before you decide to buy.

Trigger Points - trigger point, trigger points

The Body Back Buddy is by far the best hook massage tool in my collection for a number of reasons.

First off, I also own the standard S-Hook as well as the Theracane and from my experience with all three, this one is the winner by a long shot.

The S-Hook's main advantage is the ability to take it apart, which makes it very compact for travel purposes. But even still, I like to take the BBB with me unless compact space is absolutely critical.

The Thera-Cane's main advantage is its simplicity. It is one-sided and fairly light-weight compared to the BBB.

Now for the real review, the Body Back Buddy has many advantages over the above mentioned tools.

- 11 knobs in assorted sizes and shapes from small to round to pointy

- Large enough to command and control comfortably

- Handles are angled for better leverage compared to other tools

- Can use on practically every muscle group from abs, chest, shoulders, whole back, quads, hams, feet, neck, etc...

- Great conversation starter

Summary:

When I say I take my BBB with me everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE! It's that awesome! I'm at a computer for 10 hours-a-day almost every day and before I found the BBB, I had a hard time releasing tight muscles and trigger points. Although I did have the S-Hook and Theracane, I found myself not using them as much as I do the BBB. My best guess is that it just wasn't as effective and I quickly got tired of effort required. It's true that you can use your body weight and larger muscle groups to leverage the pressure on the aforementioned tools, but the BBB is just much better at it.

I especially love the pointy knobs for really digging into deep trigger points in the back, shoulder and feet. The center knob does a great job of releasing tension in the Multifidus muscles along the spine all the way up to the back of your neck.

TIPS:

- I highly recommend picking up The Frozen Shoulder Workbook and the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook if you're serious about learning how trigger points affect your body. The combination of the BBB and those books make a highly effective solution if you suffer from musculoskeletal issues. This combination helped me recover from a severe snowboarding accident as well as empower me to help myself AND learn about my body.

- There are so many creative ways to use this tool, years later, I still discover new uses!

- Try using the handle knobs to get your chest, abdomen areas. I've noticed that people often just ignore the handle knobs, myself included in the beginning.

- Breathing is crucial to getting that "release" or "squishing" on trigger points. Try to breathe and massage synergistically, focusing on expanding the area you're working on with the breath. Body Back Buddy

There is only one thing that I wish this tool would be and that is more travel friendly. It is a bit odd shaped and difficult to fit into a small to medium-sized gym bag and back pack. Otherwise I'd take it with me everywhere. It is very effective at getting rid of all the aches and pains developed after sleeping in a bad position, working long hours, sitting at a computer for too long, traveling, and over-exertion. I must have saved several hundred dollars in massage therapy and pain killer medication costs in the past year and a half that I've owned this.

First off, I usually have tightness in my shoulders and neck (probably from spending too much time in front of a computer all day at work). I also have stiffness in my lower back from time to time. The BBB is really effective at reaching all my knots and bringing relief through hitting those pressure points (on the neck, upper and lower shoulder blade, and all along the spine). What makes it so good is that when you position the "ball points" on those areas, the tool is designed so that you can use just modest leverage to get to the deep tissue. This is key because you can use this for quite a while and not get tired. I can't stress the importance of this enough. I find that with proper positioning, I can really get a lot of pressure by simply using my arm weight with modest effort.

Also, I find that with some practice you can actually slide the ball points along your tight areas, which more effectively mimics a real massage vs. just getting point pressure (which I find brings less relief). For instance, by gently laying on top of the bbb (facing up), I can get a very deep lower back massage - and all by myself!

The bbb is also very sturdy. Takes a little bit of experimentation to get used to it, but all in all, it's one of my favorite self-massage tools and I would highly recommend it.

That was my question to friends who have this crazy-looking self-massage tool. After 10 minutes, I was "hooked". The best thing is that you can relax--as one should when trying to reduce pain--and even laugh while you tie yourself in a pretzel exploring the impact of each knob on each pain spot. And it's incredibly versatile. Neck pain? Got it! Cramp in the arch of your foot? Fixed. Muscle knot that you can't reach yourself? No worries. Besides, even if it doesn't work, what a great conversation starter on a cold rainy night in the Pacific Northwest: "Top 10 ways to use the Buddy Massage Cane that aren't found in the directions."

So I bought this as I have a tweaked neck from too much Basketball. I was massaging my own neck where it hurt but this made things worse. I realized one day how tight the muscles around my shoulder blade have gotten. My wife tried but too delicate and although I realized these pressure points and muscles where the ones responsible for my neck pain she just couldn't get enough pressure on them. This Back Buddy is great and I've used it for 3 days now and already my neck and back feel better, more loose, etc...

I'd like to mention this is more like giving yourself a deep tissue massage. It's not the gentle rubbing that some people prefer. The plastic contact points are rather small (end of your thumb) and although there are some bigger ones this tool seems to lean towards the firm touch massage. I guess if they had some larger points of contact I would like to try that too (4 stars for this instead of 5) but this is exactly what I needed for rock solid, knotted muscles. Also it's very easy to use and apply more than enough pressure if needed. You can easily work on your back, shoulder blades, etc... for a solid hour without tiring as it's leverage and design works that well. Be cautious not to overdue it the first few days though. I found it works best with shirt off and some massage oil or lotion. Through the clothes works but you can't slide it around as well so this requires a bit more effort.

I highly recommend this for those wanting a firm massage ! Also shipping was fast and this thing is super durable. I'm loving it! - Trigger Points - Back Pain - Pain Relief - Trigger Point'

Fitness - yoga, stability ball

I bought this ball to sit on at my desk at work. I'm 5'8" and I bought the 75 cm ball (it's the perfect size). It's much more comfortable than my old chair was, and i could feel it working the muscles in my lower back almost immediately! It did take a long time to inflate, but it stays inflated rather long. I just keep the pump at my desk in case I want to make it a little tighter. Love it! YogaAccessories (TM) Yoga Balance Ball with Pump

I purchased the 65CM one. Im 5 ft 4 180 lbs and 8 months pregnant and this ball is perfect. It seems to hold up fairly well. I have had to air it up for a second time but I think its cause I didnt fill it up completely the first time. Its a great ball for a great price and my kids love to play with it too :)

No problems with this product, the smell wasn't a major issue for me. The pump that came with the package wasn't as effective as it should have been. It took to long so I had to use my own (bigger) pump.

I'm pretty sure I ordered a small pink ball but instead, I recieved a medium blue one. I tried going back to check my order but it doesn't specify.

The hand pump is very handy and makes pumping easy (unlike my last one which required stepping on it) although pumping the ball was a workout in itself.

I don't know if it's just my ball or if it's suppoed to be like this but my ball came with a very strong plastic smell and large wrinkles. Maybe they're supposed to go away with time?

But the ball is very strong and fulfills its purpose.

Oh and the plug for the hole doesnt go all the way in. But air doesn't seem to be leaking out and it doesn't get in the way.

I bought the purple balance ball, and the color is EXACTLY as pictured! I love it! It came with a hand pump, and it was easy to use (although time consuming!). It was the 75 cm ball, which is the height that I wanted. I love the ball - it's great for exercise or for sitting at your desk (strengthens your core!). I recommend this balance ball. Very, very sturdy. Perfect.

I was very disappointed about the quality of the pump and the ball. I needed a stronger pump to blow the ball up, the hand pump was a joke. Also, I find that I consitintly need to refill the air in the ball as it keeps leaking out.

Ok here's the deal. I did get the wrong size and color but yes I am giving 5 stars ONLY because I initially ordered the 65cm Pink yoga ball, I am 5'10 so I ordered the size based on the recommendations and pink because I love it.

Instead I received the 75cm purple yoga ball which turned out to be the perfect size for my height (still a little bummed I didn't receive pink but I knew it was a crap shoot based on the other reviews) purple is still a nice girly color which was the goal. Also I have it 5 stars because it is a really great yoga ball not leaking any air, the one I replaced was 55cm (way too small for me) which I had to pump air into daily and the hand pumps give you a serious workout all on by itself.

Please keep in mind however you most likely will not receive the color and possible not the size you want/need from this seller. I just lucked out:)

I only give this item 4 stars because I notice that air slowly leaks out of the ball and because they sent the wrong color (I ordered a pink and received a purple - not that big of a deal). I have been unable to find the cause of this slow leak but I refill the ball with the pump about once a week and it takes a good 10-15 pumps. I have been using the ball for a month now with no problems. I am still very satisfied with my purchase when you consider the price of the ball in comparison to others. The plastic has a no skid type texture which works great on my hardwood floor.(Better than others I have purchased) Overall I would recommend this to anyone wanting a Stability Ball on a budget and if you don't really care too much of the color considering some of the other reviewers also got the wrong color. - Yoga - Stability Ball'

White As White Can Be

DISCLAIMER- I'm not reviewing this as a kid's book, but as a pop culture item. If you're wondering if it's OK for kids, don't worry- if they like the TV show, buy it.This is an adaption of an episode of the Disney Channel show "Adventures in Wonderland" that guest-starred O.J. Simpson. In the text of the book, the White Rabbit asks O.J. how can he be in two places at once? O.J. says "I can't" and goes on to remind the rabbit that he's talking to the imaginary version of the Juice, not the real one. Why he didn't use that as his defense in his trial we'll never know ("I'm going to continue my search for the real killer- the Imaginary O.J."). A classic.
