High Definition - 1080p, hdmi switcher

I use this ViewHD switch with the following devices:

Onkyo Amplifier, Onkyo DVD player, TVIX media player, custom-built HTPC with HDMI port on motherboard, Canon HF11 HD camcorder.

All of these work correctly, without any issues. The unit is small and doesn't take much space - but keep in mind that Input 1 and power connector is located on the left side and Output on the right side, so you'll have HDMI plugs on both sides and the width will be more than the unit itself.

Unit has a red Power light which is fairly bright but not unreasonably so. Port lights are blue (active) or red (inactive). The switch automatically switches to lowest numbered port for devices that are On. Remote is small, I only used it once to train my Harmony One universal remote. After adding the switch to corresponding activities on the remote everything was switching without any problems to correct ports.

Overall I'm very happy with this purchase - this switch works well, does exactly what it's supposed to without any issues, looks good and the price is very reasonable. ViewHD Premium Five Port HDMI 5x1 Powered Switch V1.3 Certified for Full HD 1080P

Moderate price for powered, 5-port switch. EASY install. Securely packaged. Can NOT see or hear reduction in video or audio quality with my Bravia TV, Comcast DVR, LG Home Theater, etc. Almost NO delay when I switch sources. I use inexpensive/cheap hdmi cables ($3 delivered via Amazon).

Works as advertised. Even has a remote control. This box supports the higher speed protocols that are becoming more available today which will give you room to grow into this product as you get new equipment in the future. Great way to add HDMI ports to your TV.

The splitter does a fine job of splitting but sometimes the Tivo signal will come on with a overpowering strong magenta hue. I have to hit the "switch" button on the splitter to switch to something else (Xbox or playstation or AppleTV) then run through the switch until I'm back to the Tivo and then the magenta hue is gone. I haven't seen this hue issue with any of the other HDMI connected peripherals (Xbox or playstation or AppleTV). Otherwise, there does not appear to be any picture quality loss or sound loss (TV optical audio out to Bose surround system) with the switcher.

I purchased this product to work with my 4 year old philips lcd, a new xbox, and an old computer. I was worried about compatibility but this product performs flawlessly. It readily switches between inputs as they are turned on and off. This product works and is good value for the money. Similar products at Radio Shack and Best Buy cost 3x.

This product seemed too good to be true. Lots of claimed features and a low price. Received from seller on time. Seemed well built, except that there are connectors on three sides due to its small size.

The BIG problem is that it only worked with one of the three devices I needed to switch. Spent lots of time trying to debug, including trying two TV's as the output device. But it was flat out incompatible with my Samsung Bluray player and my first gen AppleTV. It was compatible with my DirecTV HR24, but who needs a switcher for a single device!. So for my situation this device is worthless. So instead I bought an SIIG CE-000012-S1 Four port switcher (for about twice the price from Fry's) and it works great with all of these same devices.

So be careful about compatibility, and be ready to return it when it doesn't work.

The switch works just like it is supposed to. One caveat to that is that you have to be somewhat patient and wait for the switch to actually detect the device that is on after one has been powered off. It can take up to five seconds or so sometimes. But be patient, it will eventually switch over. And also, it switches by priority, with 1 being the highest and the five port being the lowest. So if your DVR/satellite box is on port 5 and your Xbox is on port 1, then it will not switch to your DVR when the Xbox is powered off. You will have to manually switch to port 5 or use the remote. A good way to alleviate this problem is to put you DVR on port 1 and everything else on the other ports in their respective priorities. This way, your TV will always be the source that is switched to when something is powered off. Other than that, it works like a charm. It also comes with cool blue LEDs that are very subdued in the dark, as to not disturb your movie watching or late night game playing.....

The ViewHD Premium Five Port HDMI 5x1 Powered Switch is as advertised. Although, I only use 2 inputs, this is a great product. I can switch to any input at any time and I get a picture as good as it there was no switch involved. This is a keeper.

I bought another product prior to this that had 3 inputs but, did not include a power supply. It worked for about 20 minutes then failed with a blank screen. - Switch - Hdmi Splitter - Hdmi Switcher - 1080p'
