Holsters - holsters, evo 4g

I fits the phone better than some of the other Silicon based protectors I tried. All the buttons and lenses are easily available and I feel that if I dropped the phone it would offer some level of protection. The Commuter and Defender series offer superior protection, but at a higher cose and bulk. This is great for basic phone protection. Otterbox Impact Series Case for the HTC EVO 4G (Black)

Despite being made from silicone, the case does not pick up as much dirt or lint as other silicone based cases.

It's a little bulkier than it looked in the photos but it really is for that added protection should a drop ever occur. Additionally it covers the upper portion of the phone where the speaker grill is, leaving of course a cut out for the light sensor/speaker and front facing camera. The only problem with this attempt at adding more protection for the phone is the fact that you need to be more precise using the tip of your thumb or pointer finger to drag the notification bar down.

The back of the case is so welled designed. It's visually appealing and feels good in the hand. It naturally adds the distance needed to keep the camera on the back from getting scratched while on a table or other surface.

The phone is snug, maybe not as snug as many would like. The case shifts ever so slightly if you attempt hitting the power button or volume buttons with one hand and clench it.There's just a slight give on the section that wraps around on either the left or right side of the phone, just at that section where the bezel meets the screen. But it's a design issue that I think any soft silicone case is going to deal with.

For the price, this is an excellent product. 11$ for a great case AND a full clear screen protector?

On some sites and in some stores you'd be paying 11$ for the screen protector alone.

The good:

As far as silicone cases go, this one feels pretty sturdy. I think that it would probably protect the phone from a mild drop.

The included screen protector covers the entire face of the phone including the buttons across the bottom and the front-facing camera. The previous screen protectors I used only covered the actual screen, so this was a nice surprise.

The bad:

It isn't a very secure fit. The case is VERY easy to remove, and sometimes the bottom actually comes free while I'm carrying it in my pocket.

The volume keys are sometimes ridiculously difficult to press through the case. Same with the power button.

Like any silicone case, this will attract lint if carried in your pocket. It's especially visible because it's a black case.

The noteworthy:

My case actually shipped with the wrong screen protector... I received an iPhone 4 protector. It was super easy getting Otterbox to ship me the right one, but it took about a week to receive it.

Final thoughts:

For the price, it's pretty okay. I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for a more secure option.

Edit 2/2/2011:

I just bought the Seidio Innocase Active (http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innocase-Active-Hybrid-Case/dp/B003Y3CMHY/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1296627596&sr=8-22) and am MUCH happier with that case.

This case does a great job of protecting my EVO from bumps, drops, falls etc. I have dropped my phone a couple of times from about waist level and the phone is fine. It also looks good and fits around the phones ports, plugs etc. very well. The case also gives you a good grip of the phone when in use, the EVO is pretty thin and a little slick for my taste, this case, adds just enough thickness and a slight tacky feel to ensure a good grip when holding onto it. Another plus is the the camera lens, flash and speaker cut outs are recessed so that they are protected from getting scratched when you lay it down on a table and the front screen is also protected because the case is raised enough so that the screen will also not touch anything when laid on it's face.

The case also comes with a FULL-PHONE screen protector from the top of the phone to the bottom buttons as an added bonus. Screen protectors alone are going for 7-10 bucks but you get a great case AND protector for that price alone. It does work well and fits the EVO perfectly.

The only "cons" I have, and I imagine that this is true of every silicone case on the market, is 1) The case has gotten a little loose in the upper left corner after using it for a month, nothing drastic or visibly unsightly I just noticed it. AND 2) The case is a lint magnet when you put it in your pocket but it wipes right off good as new.

I highly recommend this case, and screen protector. Great products and awesome price. You can't beat it. If your like me and try to buy quality products as inexpensively as possible, (Like the EVO on Amazons sight,WOW!!), GET THIS CASE!! NOW!! - Evo - Evo 4g - Holsters - Otterbox'
