I had an issue a couple of years ago with a birth control pill; needless to say it caused a lot of medical issues! One of which was hair loss. I went off that pill and my body was slowly getting back to normal, but my hair didn't seem to be recovering. I don't have a lot of hair to begin with and it's fine, but viviscal helped the hair grow back AND my hair is much stronger. There is less in my brush too. My eyelashes and nails are also thicker! I took a gamble on this product...pretty skeptical, but anxious to try almost anything that would stop my hair from falling out. I think mine is genetic, and maybe a little bit of low thyroid induced, but whatever the cause, so much of my hair was falling out that I hated to take a shower and watch the loose hairs just coat my fingers as I shampooed.
In my case, I have been using the product for almost five months. I thought I saw a slight reduction in hair loss after about two or three months, but wasn't certain. At this point, I can honestly say that the hair loss has been sharply reduced--maybe one quarter of what it was initially. I am still taking two tablets a day, and will continue to do so for the recommended time. I haven't noticed my hair growing in any quicker, but stopping the hair loss was my number one concern.
After years of hair loss issues, I have finally found something that works! I have tried everything, particularly after having two children and going through hair loss situations after both births. I have only been taking this product for a month (along with Biotin supplements in the morning) and am noticing an incredible amount of growth. I was losing hair in clumps so that my scalp was clearly visible. All these little new hairs are growing in the patchy areas and I can now wear my hair naturally without worrying someone will notice anything was ever missing. I never thought I'd find a solution. I have a blond hair, a bit over processed and fairly thin. So, when I read about this product on Vogue, I thought to give it a try. About 4 weeks after I started using it (I only take 1 pill a day rather than 2) I started noticing a fuller and thicker hair. Haven't noticed faster growth yet but def. more voluminous hair. However, I also started breaking out at the same time. Pimples popping out on my cheeks like in my teens. Not sure if it's an inconvenient side effect of this product or just a phase, more like a skin cleaning that pushes the impurities inside out. So, works for my hair, not so nice on my skin. Maybe someone who is not prone to pimples in the first place just gets the lustrous hair without any ugly side effects.

Expensive but works. I have super fine, thin hair and I have noticed that my hair is growing faster and it feels fuller. I have noticed hair regrowth along the temples where my hair was extremely thin. I have been using Viviscal for 2 months now (2 tablets/day) and plan on continuing. Amazon has the best price for this product hands down!
I just bought these tabs about a month ago and I'm so pleasantly surprised that I have to write a review. First of all i'm 27 and my hair loss started when i was just a teen. It was progressively thinning on top and I was told to try bcps to "balance my hormones". I was on them for years and I continued to slowly thin until I stopped and got pregnant. After the birth, my hair fell out in handfulls!! 3 yrs later I now have about 1/3 of my hair left, and it is very fine, wispy, and totally different from before. I have tried EVERYTHING. Rogaine, BCPs, every supplement imaginable, iron, diet changes, protein shakes, hanging upside down (don't judge, i'm desperate! lol) nothing has worked. My latest experiment was progesterone cream which i started 3 months ago. Initially my hair loss got worse and frizzy and wiry. I decided to try viviscal and hello! my hair loss has finally slowed down. (and my nails look amazing! I can hardly type cuz they're so long) I went from finding 40+ hairs in the drain to 4 or 5. I'm sweeping up less hair and there is hardly any when I run my fingers through my hair. My biggest issue is hair GROWTH though because my scalp is highly visible. I haven't noticed any yet, but I will definitely come back if I do later on. The only thing that sucks is the price! But if it keeps working then i'll probably start selling all my worldly posessions online before I stop using it!
I've been using this product since June 2010 and found that it dramatically reduced the amount of hair that was aggressively falling out. My only regret was not learning about the existence of Viviscal earlier in my life. I can't say that the original volume has been restored but my hair looks much healthier. And the cessation of hair loss is more than I hoped for.
I have been taking Viviscal for just about a month now, so not long enough to be certain of the results, but I am seeing new hair growth along the hairline and baby fine hairs, but it is more than I had before. I recommend the use of generic minoxidal along with the pills for maximum results.
