I don't know what I was expecting but I really don't like the fact that I have to bend down the tabs I don't want. Also the glossy finish makes labeling tabs a little more difficult. I guess Pendaflex implies it's flexible. However I didn't realize that I would have to bend tabs down, fit them into much too small slits and on 50% tear the folder while doing so in order to get the the 1/3 cut file folder advertised. Flimsy thickness. If I had not already thrown away the packaging I'd return the product.

This product is really poorly designed and deceptively described. As others mentioned, the folder quality is flimsy and thin. Rather than the traditional 1-tab per folder, you get all three tabs on every folder and the expectation is to fold down the ones you don't use. I just ended up cutting them since the tabs didn't stay folded and it made my folders buckle.
It's truly a ridiculous design, and while I should have read the fine print better to better understand what I was getting, the truth is that this is a deceptive product. Who would think that they are sending you file folders with ALL THREE tabs? None of the people who reviewed so far expected that so clearly it's a misleading product description. And the product photo is too washed out to really show you what you are getting.
Do NOT buy this product unless you are looking for a file folder with three separated tabs.
Folders are fine. Didn't realize that there were three tabs covered with clear tape. Normally used to 1 tab per folder with groups being offset side, middle, right. That's ok, they will work. I need to be a little more observant when ordering so I get what I'm expecting.
I just want my 3 tab folders like they've always been and I'm bummed that I somehow missed this when I ordered these. These fold down tabs make more work for me, not less and I'm not a fan. Now I have 50 folders that annoy me. I'm getting out my scissors!!
When I ordered this product, I had no idea that it was a "do-it-yourself" tab system. The folder comes with all three tabs (left, center and right) sticking up. You have to fold down the tabs that you don't want to use and tape them or staple them to keep them in place. There are some small slots to "tuck" the tab into, but they don't do the job.
Whenever I want to use one of these, I find myself asking - "Why would Pendaflex make such a cheesy product". Before this experience, I had always associated the name Pendaflex with quality. This product has changed that impression. I recommend that you spend a little more and get a better product.
I thought I had ordered simple manila folders, but when they arrived I was surprised to see that each folder had 3 tabs on them and you could select which one you wanted to use. I'm not really a fan of these since you have to fold the unused tabs into place, and they like to pop back out. Construction and quality are all high though. - Office Supplies - Hanging File Folders'
