Secure Digital - memory card, 32gb

There are some things to consider before buying this particular card or any other 32gb SDHC card on the market:

1. This is NOT an ideal card for a digital SLR like a D80, D90, Rebel XT, etc... That is because it is a class 4 device. The class of a SDHC cards has to do with how fast they read and write files, not how much storage they have. For a digital SLR, you should purchase a class 6 SDHC card most of the time. Class 6 cards will allow you to take 'bursts' of photos and not be limited by the card's capacity to write them. Also class 4 cards are slower reading data, meaning they will take longer to upload files to your computer. Upload speed is convenient, especially when loading large batches of files.

2. This card has far more storage than most people will need for their digital camera. Unless you like to keep all your photos on a SDHC card and never move them to your computer, or are a high volume photographer, there is very little need for more than about 8gb of storage space for most caeras. The possible exception to this is if you have a professional SLR that shoots files in the 16-20mb range--but if you do, you'll likely want a class 6 card anyway. If all you intend to use this card for is a digital camera, save yourself a lot of money and buy a PNY 8GB SDHC Card. If you're worried about running out of space on a vacation, buy a few of them. Otherwise you run the risk of having 'all your eggs in one basket.' If one card fails, you lose all your pictures instead of only a portion of them.

This card is fantastic for use in a video camcorder capable of writing to an SDHC card. (Check with the manual first to insure that a class 4 card will be fast enough first). It is also perfect as extra storage for an ultra portable computer or net book like the Asus EEE pc. Another great application would be as added storage to a personal media player or MP3 player equipped with a SDHC slot such as the Cowon D2.

There are other good 32gb SDHC cards on the market, some at cheaper price points than the Kingston card. IMHO, brand matters very little with something like a SDHC card, since they all are made pretty much the same way. None of the brands currently offering them (Transcend, PNY, Kingston) have high fail rates with their other products, so I believe they are all pretty similar. What you decide to buy will depend on whether you trust a particular brand, or who has the lowest price. All of them will work equally well. Kingston 32 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/32GB

PREFACE:

I bought this card for extra disk space on my Asus EeePC netbook. I needed as much space as possible to supplement the very small SSD hard drive. I needed something with large capacity and relatively fast file transfer time.

PROS:

It shares the largest SD capacity on the market today with few others (Panasonic, Sandisk, and PNY) and is a quality name that I have had a good history with in the past. Its file transfer time is similar to the SSD drive in my machine so it basically acts as a second SSD for me at less than a quarter of the price!

CONS:

Its not the cheapest 32gb SD card(PNY) nor the fastest(Panasonic) but its good quality with a decent transfer rate.

CONCLUSION:

I'm very happy with its performance and capacity. I would like to see the price come down a bit, but that's the price of getting electronics of this caliber.

That's my input, take it or leave it :)

Excellent for the price. I give it a 4/5 because it performs slower than expected from a C4 SDHC card. I also have a Sandisk EIII 2GB. Although it doesn't have the class ratings because it's not SDHC, the Sandisk outperforms the Kingston in both read/write.

My test scenario: Using a Nikon D80 taking 6 shots continuously. The Kingston took considerably longer to write contents from the Nikon D80 buffer.

If you're looking for a high speed card in a similar scenario, then look elsewhere. However, if you want a good card and no particular need for speed, then I recommend getting.

I didnt realize how fast the point and shoot cameras are getting sooo many megapixels until I started looking for a good one for my mom... This card is no good for a 12 megapixel camera! It takes way too long to save each picture slowing down how fast you're able to take consecutive pictures! Go for the Sandisk extreme cards and dont look back!

I only have SLR cameras, and use the San Disk extreme cards because speed is crucial! Dont cheap out on a card after buying a nice camera, or you'll be sorry! Thats the first thing i noticed when showing her how to use her new Canon Point and Shoot camera is how SLOWWWWWWWW it took to save each photo before I could take another.. If waiting a few seconds between each picture is a non-issue, buy all means save some money and buy this card.

Bottom line: You're wasting your money buying this card to use in a high resolution point and shoot, which they all seem to be now days. Just too slow! - Class 4 - 32gb - 32 Gb - Memory Card'

Panasonic Tape Recorder - panasonic tape recorder, cassette tape recorder

I just bought it and am very happy with it. Like a previous reviewer, I use mine for song ideas and also for singing practice. I prefer the larger speaker of a shoebox recorder because it provides better fidelity and more volume than you get with hand-helds. And although I don't move my recorder around much, I wanted both portability and a direct AC connection. Before buying the Panasonic shoebox recorder, I compared it to the GE 3-5027. I chose the Panasonic because the Panasonic comes with a removable power cord that plugs directly into the wall and the recorder. The GE recorder uses an AC adapter with a transformer that plugs into the wall and has a thin wire that plugs into the recorder. I always use AC, not batteries (because as batteries weaken, the music changes pitch), and I've had bad luck with adapters where the wire goes bad or the little connector that plugs into the recorder doesn't fit snugly causing intermittent power losses. I prefer a connection that's more substantial and durable. The GE recorder is also 3 inches shorter (7.38") than the standard shoebox recorder (which is approx. 10.38") and appears to have smaller buttons. Since I have large hands, I prefer the full sized buttons of the Panasonic. (I didn't actually measure the buttons or compare the two recorders side-by-side, so this may be just my perception.)If you plan to primarily use batteries, have limited space, and want a shoebox style recorder, the GE 35027 may be right for you.The Panasonic is approximately 10.25 inches long and comes with an AC power cord, tape counter, mic jack, and 8 ohm monitor jack. I primarily use the built-in condenser microphone for recording. The recording sound quality is incredibly accurate. My only negative comment is that, at least with my recorder, the biasing is high, meaning that the pronunciation of an 's', as in "eyes", occasionally hisses or splats.I also looked into buying one of the PoGo! RipFlash MP3/WMA hand-held recorders instead, but decided that the cost difference wasn't worth it since I can already convert my cassette recordings to audio CDs for a more permanent backup by connecting a cable from the monitor jack of the recorder to the input jack of my computer's sound card. Panasonic RQ2102 Cassette Recorder

I would give this product a 5 simply for existing! I had a hard time finding a similar product in stores. When I would stumble onto one, the price was often ... more than what I could get it for here. I don't know if this review praises ... or the product more. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with it. Sure, it's a bit antiquated in this era of digital gimmickry. But for what I need it for, it works great. Easy to use controls, big speaker for playback and it doesn't eat tapes! What more do you want?

Great little recording tool, almost perfect sound recording forthe price definitively the best all-around simple tape recorder, much better than Radio Shack's $49 and even higher priced. Thestandard recorder. Great for seminars, school, I use it forphone recording and song composition. I have a recording studioand this is a very valuable piece vs. the costly equipment.

The only inconvenience with this product is size but the purpose for which it was given to me did not require miniature size, as a matter of fact, for an older user, the controls are quite "user friendly" I recommend the product for stationary use.

I bought this tape recorder after I read a good review here. If the review was truethful, I must have gotten one from a bad production batch. With the volume set at the mid-range, I could hardly reproduce any audible sound. The volume has to be at maximum before I could hear discernible voices without putting my ear right above the speaker. It also records a lot of anoying background noise. I had bought recently an Aiwa micro-cassette tape recorder which turned out to be nearly useless. I was hoping this one, using a full size cassette and with a large speaker, would not have the problem of smaller one. But that was not the case.

i bought this to read my little girls bedtime stories aloud and record them for when we aren't home. we've also had their grandparents from out of town read their favorite books onto tape. it works GREAT for this purpose...and the kids love playing with it too, in between. very sturdy.

I had one of these as a child and did not think they even made them anymore. I have never seen one currently in stores. It is just what I needed to tape some of my college lectures and interviews for my genealogy research. It is better priced than the micro-recorders.

I purchased this tape recorder/player for my father, who is legally blind but still likes to lecture on various gardening topics for local clubs. He wanted a way to record his lectures as well as a back-up tape player in case the one provided by the Association for the Blind has a problem. Therefore the buttons have to be large and easy to mark in a unique way and the operation has to be simple. I have always liked Panasonic and I was not disappointed this time, either. The player works perfectly and the built-in microphone picked up the music I was playing from another audio-tape player with surprising accuracy, as well as my voice. The buttons come with raised emblems which will help my father to find the one he wants. The recorder runs efficiently on 4 size "C" batteries, as well as plugging into the wall, and has ports for headphones and a hand-held microphone (not included with this unit). Best of all from my point of view, it looks and feels like my favorite old tape recorder from the 1970's. I didn't get to handle it for very long because it was a gift, but I really like it. - Cassette Recorder - Cassette Players - Cassette Tape Recorder - Panasonic Tape Recorder'

Accessories - apple, accessories

This little iPad dock works great! I have no idea what the other review is about, but this works well. It allows you to charge your iPad standing up, so it's not laying all over the counter, taking up space and possibly getting bumped. Mine has no problem making contact with my iPad at all. You just have to make sure both ends of your cord are plugged in securely. The iPad docks securely, so it doesn't wobble at all. Sync Dock Station Power Charger Cradle Dock Stand Station For Apple iPad 16G 32G 64G(White)

Save you money on this piece of junk. The engineering is so bad that it barely makes contact with a bare IPAD and there is no chance if, as most people do, you have a cover for the IPAD. The docking contact should have been placed in a higer position above its base.

1. "Be advised" that this item is not manufactured by Apple.

2. It is only a charging stand.

3. You will "NOT" have any audio once your iPad is docked in this charging stand.

4. "ONCE AGAIN" this is ONLY a charging stand.

5. If you expect to listen to Pandora or iTunes, FORGET IT! It's not going to happen.

6. After purchasing the first one thinking that it was defective, they sent me another one and it didn't work either.

7. Since this is only a charging stand, it should be noted in the description of the item.

I have to tilt my ipod and ipad forward in order for it to connect and charge. I also have to remove my protective cases (which are thin) in order to even get a tilted connection. It does work with some tweeking but I would not suggest buying this product.

I've been using this iPad dock for a little over a month now. What I wanted was a dock that I could use with my iPad on a table in the living room to charge my iPad and use it as a digital picture frame when it's not in use. This dock works perfectly for that purpose.

It does disable the speakers (has a line out port though), but that's not what I bought it for.

Don't waste your money. First of all, this docking station isn't even from Apple. There is no Apple symbol anywhere. Also, when I went to plug it in on the first day that I got it, the port in the back popped off like it was just glued to it. DON'T BUY!!!! - Accessories - Ipad - Apple Ipad - Apple'

Comfortable - shooting, hearing protection

I compared several ear protectors and this was the best one:

Best: Leightning L3 R-03318: Howard Leight R-03318 Leightning L3 Shooter's Premium Earmuff

NRR rating 30

Attenuation at various frequencies: 34 at 125, 36 at 500, 38 at 1000, 44 at 4000, 45 at 8000

Very comfortable, lightweight, fully adjustable without fear of breaking it, padded headband.

Muffles office chatter, typing, and lighting or computer humming very well. Does something, but not enough, to block loud mechanical hums and banging.

Bottom line: This is my new favorite. It's so comfortable!

Acceptable: AO Safety 90559 AO Safety 90559 Folding Earmuff

NRR rating 21

Attenuation at various frequencies: Don't know

Comfortable, lightweight. Plastic unpadded headband adjusts in preset increments, and you have to be gentle when you put it on to avoid breaking it; the plastic broke after a couple years.

Reduces the volume of voices but doesn't block them, muffles lighting or computer humming, actually amplifies the sound of typing.

Bottom line: Despite its lower NRR rating, I used this one for years and liked it a lot.

Uncomfortable: Peltor Optime 105 H10A Peltor H10A Optime 105 Over-the-Head Earmuff

NRR rating 30

Attenuation at various frequencies: 21 at 125, 37 at 500, 41 at 1000, 43 at 4000, 41 at 8000

Uncomfortably tight fit, heavier than the others, padded adjustable headband.

Muffles office chatter, typing, and lighting or computer humming well. Does something, but not enough, to block loud mechanical hums and banging. (Same effectiveness as the Leightning)

Bottom line: This was effective but so uncomfortable squeezing my head I didn't want to wear it. And I have a small-ish head.

Unwearable: Tasco Golden Eagle 2950 Tasco 210-02950 29db Golden Eagle Blk 1pos Ovr-The-Head Earmuff

(sold by another vendor as "built to military specifications", no brand name given, at twice the price)

NRR rating 29

Attenuation at various frequencies: 21 at 125, 36 at 500, 43 at 1000, 37 at 4000, 36 at 8000

Very uncomfortable. The adjustable headband looks padded, but in reality there's a piece of unpadded plastic that digs straight into the sides of your head.

Did not block sound for me at all, because the earpieces were too big for my head, leaving a gap. Maybe this would fit better on a man with a big head.

Bottom line: Hated it. Howard Leight R-03318 Leightning L3 Shooter's Premium Earmuff

I am a regular shooter and I own all of the best ear muffs available.

Pros:

Head band - The headband actually has padding and it is very comfortable. Almost all Peltors have some sort of plastic head band cover on top of the metal wire. The L3 wins hands down in comfort.

Noise dampening - Peltors are very good in the shooting range. I still use many of them. But this one is better in dampening very loud higher caliber guns like the .357 revolvers and 44 magnums. It creates a very good seal and hugs securely but comfortably. it performs better than my active shooting ear muffs.

Conversation - Considering how well it dampens very loud sounds, I can still converse with whomever I am with in the range.

Price -It is 30% cheaper in Amazon than buying it in a store.

Cons:

Size - It is bulkier than my active ear muffs.

Summary:

If you are in need of really protecting your hearing, look no further.

I purchased these earmuffs for ear protection while shooting my AR-15. They are ranked high for decibel protection, and got great reviews.

My experience of these earmuffs is mixed. They look great. They are super comfortable (though I have not worn them for extended periods of time). The sound dampening is incredible. They keep loud noises at a safe and tolerable level and simultaneously allow you to hear conversation, etc.

The problem I experienced was that they are too big to use functionally with a rifle! The head phones interfere with rifle placement when holding the rifle in a standard fashion, using a red dot scope for sights. Try as I might, including some funky positions, I could not avoid interference of the headphones with the stock of my gun. As a result, the headphones were pushed askew, my ear was uncomfortable, and the hearing protection in my right ear was negated some what.

Unfortunately, it's an instant deal breaker.

If I were going to use these for a handgun, I'd be giving them 5 stars. But since I am using them for a rifle, I cannot recommend them. If you don't anticipate on using a long gun, these are probably a safe bet. Again, they sound great and feel great. But if you plan on using a long gun, I'd recommend something with a smaller profile, or even ear-bud style protection.

I purchased the Howard Leight R-03318 Leightning L3 Shooter's Premium Earmuff along with the Peltor H10A Optime 105 Over-the-Head Earmuff. Both were roughly the same price, but I wanted to see which I would suggest to friends. I'm happy with the performance of both, but the Howard Leight earmuffs are higher-quality and a better buy. - Ear Protection - Noise Canceling - Shooting - Hearing Protection'

Magic The Gathering - coupons, sleeves

I purchased these for using to hold coupons. Therefore, I have direct contact with the sheet protectors on a regular basis. They are very durable, and seem to be very high quality. Thick, and strong. I am very happy with this purchase. Highly recommended! Ultra Pro 9-Pocket Trading Card Pages - Platinum Series (100 Pages)

There are plenty of good reasons why Ultra-Pro is recognized as one of the safest and best pagemakers in the sport and fantasy card business. Their pages are PVC-free, which means there are no oils in the pages that can eat away at your collection. Also, the pages are very sturdy and handle your collection quite well. One note, however, is that I wouldn't put more than two cards per sleeve. In fact, I'd only put more than one card in a sleeve if you're concerned about space. One card per page is best. I personally purchase hardboxes to keep my doubles in.

Overall, one of, if not the best, card page you can purchase. Fits all standard sized sports cards and the bulk of the fantasy card games that a lot of kids enjoy these days.

Highly recommended.

There isnt much to say on this. It can hold 9 cards per page, sturdy construction, has holes for 3 ring binders. You can put upto 5 cards per slot without causing any damage to the cards, limiting the space wasted on duplicate cards. With a 100 sheet pack you can have room for upto 4500 trading cards.

I was pleased to find these trading card storage sheets at such a reasonable price, and with free super saver shipping. I use them to organize my grocery coupons. They work great! I would purchase them again.

I've tried these 9 pockets Ultra-pro for coupons. Yes it's durable and well made, however each pocket is so slender and small, I ended up spending most time trimming and re-trimming the coupons, then still might have to fold them to fit in the pockets, totally take out the fun in couponing! I personally would not recommand, nor would I ever go back to, the 9 pocket baseball pages!

Then I decided to try the Ultra-Pro brand 8 pocket pages instead. Each pocket is 2 3/4 inch in height and 3 1/2 inch in width, so I no longer have to fold most coupons. And with the printable coupons, I simply fold them in half! Pockets opens on top (on the wider, 3 1/2 inch side) so it's super easy to put in and take out coupons, and easy to stuff multiple (10+) coupons in each pocket. I use 3 inch binder with zippers (Case-It brand with shoulder straps), which now holds about 80 pages. This works perfect for me as I get lots of coupons.

I bought my page dividers from thrift stores and they're already tearing. But these Ultra-pro 8 pocket pages stay strong and glides on the 3 rings of my binders easily. Just thought that those sick and tired of 9 pockets should be aware of the 8 pocket option.

I just purchased a second larger lot of these for organizing my coupons. I bought a smaller pack originally to give them a try and I wouldn't use any other brand! They are very sturdy, and I use them weekly and handle the dividers a lot to put coupons in, and take them out. The quality greatly surpasses other brands found in the stores. The price per sheet is .16 which is better than the lowest price I could find online .24 per sheet.

I use the baseball card sleeves to keep my coupons organized in my coupon binder. I love them. They are so very durable. I had a hard time finding this product at the local office supplies stores and when I did they cost too much for a few. I was able to find a better deal on amazon. Anyways, I love this product and I would buy it again in a heart beat. If you are thinking of buying, dont hesitate. I have truly enjoyed this product.

I played Magic:The Gathering Collectable Card Game years ago, and amassed a fair sized collection. After starting to play with friends again recently, they were always asking to see my "old" cards. I decided it was finally time to ditch the shoe box and move on to something easier to sort and browse.

This item stores a ton of cards (900, that's 60 standard booster packs or one display box) and makes it easy to visually flip through to locate cards by graphics. I also find now that my cards are arranged in a way that makes browsing easier, I'm reading the texts more and coming up with better ideas for new decks and combos. That's right- being better organized has made me a better player. I'd tell anyone to ditch the cardboard boxes and to put all their cards in sleeves in a heartbeat, they'll only be happy about it later. - Coupons - Sheet Protectors - Sleeves - Baseball'

Ex Boyfriend

Carrie Jones' "Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend" adds a twist to the YA breakup novel.

High school senior and singer-songwriter, Belle Philbrick, is dumped. And not in your usual way. Her boyfriend Dylan--Harvest King to Belle's Harvest Queen--announces that he's gay. And, needless to say, dumps her. "Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend" chronicles Belle's story in first-person narration over the course of the week that follows.

Why a week? In an inspired piece of character development, Belle doesn't want to turn into a Malory--a girl who whines about a boy for an extended period of time. Instead, she spends time with her best friend, Emily, and becomes closer to Dylan's best friend, Tom. And, because she lives in a small Maine town--her breakup and Dylan's announcement that he's gay remain their secret for about 24 hours before everyone knows everything. "Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend" is a tale not just of Belle's coming to terms with her gay (ex) boyfriend, but also the entire town's adjustment to Dylan's announcement.

Carrie Jones has created an admirable heroine in Belle. While her breakup with Dylan is understandably painful, social justice and her true love for Dylan win over her pain. As one of the leaders of her school's Amenesty International chapter, Belle can't overlook when other students call Dylan "fag" (or her, weirdly, "fag hag"). Belle is a compelling character, very real despite the fact that her situation may seem unusual. One doesn't expect your first and true love to be gay. Fortunately, Belle has a good friend to turn to--a level-headed girl named Emily. Here is a revealing conversation between the two girls:

"'You know. It's a big deal what's happening to you and Dylan and everything. That's hard to adjust to. You love him for, like, forever and then--boom that love's gone.'

I stare into Emily's blue eyes. She stares back with sympathy. I say as undramtically as possible. 'It was a lie, Em. It was just a fairy tale. You don't have to recover from a fairy tale.'

She exhales, plucks off the lens cap again and twirls it between her fingers. 'Yes, you do.'"

Carrie Jones has teenage speak--even the discourse of smart, self-aware teens like Emily and Belle--down pat. "Tips on Having a Gay (ex) Boyfriend" is highly recommended for older teens. (There is some sexual content.) This is one smart book with one smart heroine. Tips on Having a Gay (Ex) Boyfriend

1. Keep a tissue handy because if you were ever a teenager, ever in your life, this story will touch your soul and you'll probably cry.

2. Find a comfortable place to sit because you won't be able to move until you've finished the book and unless you read very fast, your butt will hurt.

3. Build a small shrine on which to place the book when you've finished because it forced you to look inside and really see yourself and you don't want to forget that feeling. Ever.

I LOVED this book and I don't even read this genre! Carie Jones has joined my list of favorite authors and I can't wait for her next book!

Summary: Belle believes that Dylan is the one that she'll marry, but one day, Dylan tells her that he is gay. Belle wonders where does this leave her. Dylan and her have been best friends since they were little in their little town in Maine. Since they started dating, Belle has been known as Dylan's girlfriend or the other half of their couple hood.

Belle and her other best friend, Emily decide that she can only have a week to cry, because she doesn't want to become like Mallory. As the week goes on, Belle finds a possible relationship in a guy that she least suspects and it turns out that he has liked for her for a long time. Bella also finds that having a gay ex-boyfriend isn't so so easy. She starts to find that both her and Dylan are getting harassed. This story is original and amazing.

My Review: If you haven't read this, go pick this up and get somewhere comfortable. It is a fairly short, yet amazing read. The characters are really amazing and well developed. I could relate to them. This is amazing for a debut novel and I need to get Carrie Jones' other books, as soon as possible. If you like Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway, you will probably like this and vice versa. The characters are both getting attention for past relationships and it has similar humor.

I had the pleasure of meeting Carrie Jones at a convention. She was so funny and so nice that I just had to read one of her books. I started with her debut and am now eagerly reading through her growing catalog because TIPS was so good.

The plot of this book has been pretty well covered by other reviewers, so I won't rehash it. What I will say is that I teach high school English and I can assure you that Jones has captured the dialogue and emotion I see every day in the halls. Her characters are completely believable, if a bit more socially conscious and forgiving than many teens. The sexual content is not explicit and certainly won't surprise or offend kids in their mid to late teens.

You'll fall in love with Belle and Em, sympathize with Dylan, and wish your daughter could find a boy like Tom. Teenagers, especially the girls, will want to read this one again and again.

I just wrote a really nice review. Then when I tried to save it, the computer erased it. So, I'm a little irritated, but I'll try not to take it out on poor Carrie Jones. Instead I'll make a list of what I liked about this book.

1. It's poetic.

2. Inanimate objects seem to take on a life of their own.

3. It's heart felt.

4. It has some awesome laugh out loud parts.

5. The characters are quirky.

6. Belle has the best group of friends, ever.

7. It's tastefully done.

Wouldn't it stink to have a great boyfriend that you loved, only to find out that he is actually gay? Imagine that happening in high school and having to deal with everyone finding out. Belle, the main character, has to come to terms with this, learn how to get on with her life, and even start thinking about boys again. I mean, come on, she is in high school!

This book started out weak and ended up strong. The writing was a little different and took some getting used to, but it wasn't obnoxious. There seemed to be some editing issues. For example, the main character said that her friend liked to take pictures because her dad died and she realized she wanted to have pictures of everyone to help remember them. Then, a few pages later, she says that her friend likes to take pictures because her dad died and they help her remember people from all angles because she only remembers her dad when he was smiling. Then it goes on later to say that her friend has tons of pictures of her with her dad when she was little because her mom was always taking pictures. It was things like that which made it seem more like editing issues and less like she was repeating for effect.

That being said, I blew through this book. I literally did not want to put it down. I read more than 3/4 of it in one sitting and then got up and read the rest of it the next morning. It seemed like a pretty realistic story, and the random lists throughout were quirky. Overall a very good read with major editing issues that really bothered me.'

Data Cables - droid, usb cable

This is a generic 'Type A to Micro B' USB cable and it's in no way Blackberry specific but, YES, it WILL work with a BB Bold or Storm. I needed one of these to connect one camera to the computer because I lost the original when someone 'found' my camera case. It works.

On this specific cable, everything is done right, including the price. It is USB 2.0 certified, meaning that it supports data transfer rates of up to 480Mbps and, if your device accepts a Micro-B plug, this is the cable to get. Maybe the 2-meter length (6+ ft.) is a little bit too much but it does not bother me a lot and there may come a time when a cable this long may come in handy.

I am awarding this item 5 stars for price, quality and, especially, for the very good presentation on Amazon's page.

______________________________________________

Notes:

Anyone in the market for a USB cable should be very careful because there are at least 6 kinds of USB connectors. If you are buying a cable that connects 'something' to your computer or laptop, the computer end of the cable will always be a USB-A or 'Type A' connector. At the other end, you may have a USB-B/Type B - a nearly square shaped connector used mostly to deliver power to a device but this is rare. Most likely, you will have a Mini-B or a Micro-B. The difference between the 2 is that the Micro-B is half as thick while the width is the same - Mini-B is 3x7mm while Micro-B is 1.5x7mm.

If your device (phone, PDA, camera) is a 'new' one and it's using USB, chances are that they will need a Micro-B connector because the industry seems to be adopting the 'Micro' form factor as its standard. If the above sounds simple, you should keep in mind that some devices require Mini-AB or Micro-AB connectors, also known as USB OTG (OnTheGo) devices.

My advice: before ordering any cable, make sure that you clearly understand what type of cable you need. I bought 2 of these for my Palm pre as a spare to go with a generic car usb charger and one for my desk at work. They are great - the short length is great if your USB port stays within arm's reach. Don't pay cell phone accessory store prices, this is where it's at =)

The micro USB should not be confused with a 'mini-USB' size... mini tends to work with other small electronics like GPS, but micro is for most newer cell phones - LG, BlackBerry, Palm, etc. Tested this cable as a charger with coworker's BlackBerry and another's LG EnV, worked fine for them. Didn't check data transfer on those, but my Pre transfers just fine.

This cable works perfectly with the LG Chocolate Touch and the HTC Droid Incredible. I expected something thin and chintzy, but was pleasantly surprised when the cable turned out to be quite thick.

This is a 1-meter cable (~3 ft), not 2 meters as described in another review.

Like every other reviewer had said this is just a standard USB (the end that goes in your computer) to micro USB (the end that goes in your phone [or maybe camera]) cable. The only thing "Blackberry" about it is that it has their logo on one side of the plug. Simple cable that's not too long and charges my phone just right for a great price. That's all you'll ever need to know.

Before anyone gets bent out of shape, I just want to say that I knew full well what I was getting myself into. Namely, that some have used it for Blackberries. That being said, I decided that a couple of bucks was nothing much to lose with my experiment. On a Samsung Intercept, you'll notice that the micro usb area on the phone is covered by what seems like a flimsy tied on piece of rubber that folds down flat when not using the plug. When you try to push the micro usb charger or sync plug into the phone, it is a very tight fit and really can't be done (by me) in full dark. I always have to use a separate light source to accomplish my goal, but I risk waking up my hubby when I do that. Also, it has a short cord, which is great if you don't need a long one. I've also gotta say that the cable is really thick so it isn't forgiving and doesn't want to lay flat.

Despite all that, I do recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to pay an arm and a leg for these. They do the job. - Usb Cable - Data Cables - Droid - Usb'
