Ankle Weights

After all the negative reviews I've read about other ankle weights, I got these and they are perfect. I think they cost a bit more than the usual but well worth it. I put them on the first time and not one complaint and I have very small ankles and am a beginner exerciser, so I was worried, but they are perfect. I highly recommend them. Thera-Band Comfort Fit Ankle/Wrist Cuff Weight Sets - Sold in Pairs-5lbs (two 2.5 lb cuffs)-Blue

I wear the green ones when power walking. It's only been about a week but I can already tell the difference in my thighs and glutes. Today, by accident, I discovered that they're much more comfortable if I wear them with the closure in the back.

It doesn't say in the product description, but the grey ribbon at the top and bottom is reflective -- a small but very effective safety feature. I walk along residential streets near my home, so being seen by drivers is important.

I bought the 1 lb. weights to put on my wrists when I do aerobics but my wrists are so skinny that they would shift every time I lifted my arms up and down. So I decided to put them on my ankles instead. If you put on a pair of thin socks and then the weights over them, its a pefect fit. Snug, no movement...can't even tell you have them on. Great for wearing while doing housework or anything while moving around. I may get the 2 lb. weights for a better workout.

Works really well and super comfortable. It is lined with soft terry cloth so no chaffing on your ankles. I wear them almost everyday doing my mat and barre workouts and they add that extra resistance comfortably.

These work just like they are supposed to. The straps are very adjustable, so they fit well around my small ankles. I got the 3 lbs. and am glad I did. I use these with "Brazil Butt Lift" and was going to go with the lighter weights, but these are just the right weight. It makes the work harder, I feel a burn, but it isn't too difficult.

These ended up being exactly as I expected. Great quality, easy to use and they don't make you look like a dork.. A great work out is wearing them while on the treadmill and holding arms out straight in front of you.

Very pleased with them. I use both 2.5 cuffs on my ankle to do an exercise that my physical therapist instructed me to do, twice a day. Easy to attach. My only concern is over the long run, how durable will the velco straps prove to be. Only time will tell. Thinking of buying the one pound weights in the future.'

Portable Cd Player - portable cd player, boombox

We have this CD player in our kitchen so that my toddler and I can enjoy his favorite tunes while I'm making dinner or whatnot. He climbs onto the counter and gives this stereo such abuse, and touches all the parts you're never supposed to touch on a CD player, and yet it still works perfectly! I'm really impressed by this machine. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that is does make a quiet electronic "hum" when it's plugged in. It doesn't interfere with the quality of the music at all. But if you're in the room and all else is quiet, you'll notice it. For this reason, we keep it unplugged when we're not playing a CD. Otherwise this CD player is great! Coby CX-CD241 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Tuner, Red

My experience with this boombox was horrible. I bought it, it worked fine for the first 4 days, then the cd player got messed up. It wouldn't load my cds, instead, the cds would spin out of control in the player. This boombox is not recommended.

When I was christmas shopping, I thought this looked really cute, and I figured, "Hey, it's cheap, and looks good." So I bought it. It worked pretty well for the first couple of days, and then the CD playing system on it just decided to stop working. I checked all things that I might have possibly done wrong, but I didn't find any. When you try to load the CD, it doesn't let you play anything. I would not recomend this product for whoever wants to buy it, because it did not work like I wanted it to, and it made a pretty lousy Christmas present after I found out it had broken. DON'T BUY THIS.

Alas, it makes a very noticeable hum even when it's OFF! I have to unplug it if I want the noise to stop. Very disappointing.

But if size matters to you, it's worth mentioning that it's surprisingly small, especially in comparison to other portable stereos. It is easy to carry and fits anywhere.

(edit dec08.2006: and now it's incredibly fickle, frequently interrupting a cd with "ERR" or not even playing it at all. i want to replace it, but where are all the red cd players?)

I should have read the reviews closer myself before buying this....mine just inexplicably quit working after only having it a few months. Dont buy this piece of junk...there is a reason it is priced cheap.

I bought this product so my 3 year old son could listen to music before going to sleep in his room. It is terrible. There is a constant hum as long as it is plugged in. The volume of the hum depends on how the power cord is angled at the back of the unit. The CD player never worked right. After a few songs there is a "ER" message on the screen. Most of the time I can't even get it to play a CD. I'm very disappointed. Don't buy this product.

Sadly we received the product broken. It wouldn't play beyond the half way mark of any cd. In requesting a replacement the company returned the money without any comunication. It was rather strange but they refunded the money so one cant't complain.

I know this was not the top of the line radio, but I only needed it to play children's cds for my infant son. The cd player part is broken it will not play cds. The radio part works. However, that is not why I purchased the radio. Would not recommend to anyone. - Boombox - Disappointing - Portable Cd Player - Stylish'

Adapters - cables, adapters

With this adapter I was able to use a old, but well working, Apple monitor with a new PC that only had VGA and HDMI video monitor options. A DVI to HDMI adapter is what I needed and this product works as specified,I would recommend it. DVI 24+1 (DVI-D) Female to HDMI Male Adapter

I was kinda wondering how it would put out and what kinda quality it you have converting cables like that. But, It worked GREAT. If you are looking for a cost effect way to get HD with a cable you already have without spending a lot of money. This is the way to go. Thank you for the great buy. As a regular Amazon customer, I recommend to anyone.

This is a warning and review, the adapter works as advertised but you may not realize the limitations of the advertised features; specifically , the wide variety of DVI connections. The DVI standard has a few kinds, there's DVI-I, DVI-D, and DVI-A now this adapter only works with DVI-D which makes perfect sense since the HDMI is digital only. The problem is that a female plug needs to have all the holes for all the pins the male plug has. This cable has ONLY the holes for a DVI-D male cable so if you have a DVI-I or DVI-A cable, it won't work at all. Most cables are DVI-I which serves as both A and D with all the prongs and holes. I would suggest a different adapter, either one that is Male DVI to wither female or male HDMI or a female DVI-I connector also known as 24+5. You can see one here, note the + sign with four holes around in on the female DVI end, that's where most cables have extra prongs that would need to be removed to work with this adapter.

[...]

See the + sign with four holes around it on the left? Now look at this product and your own DVI cable, if you have a cable without those extra prongs and never expect to, you can get this, but be careful because this adapter is unnecessarily limited.

I bought this adapter as a way to connect my PS3 to my lcd computer monitor. I already had the DVI cable, so this was the last link in the chain. I was pleasantly surprised when my PS3 allowed me to output a 720P or 1080P signal to my monitor. The 1080 wasn't the most ideal, since my monitor doesn't support that resolution natively, but it still worked. I just keep it on 720 and I've had no problems.

It does exactly what it says! I used this to connect my DVI Samsung monitor to my HDMI laptop. My DVI cable is 18+1 pins so I wasn't sure if it was going to work, but it worked flawlessly. Thanks for the great product!

My Asus has an HDMI port and I have a few year old SAMSUNG 22" LCD. It only has DVI and VGA on it so I needed a converter for the DVI. I tried the VGA but for one reason or another that port does not work on my laptop... no worries since I never planned on using that anyways. overall this product worked as expected and quality is not an issue. If you need to convert a DVI to HDMI this is the trick. I found countless HDMI to DVI but that is not going to help me. to explain the connections in terms few understand this is a female DVI and male HDMI connector. Many I found out there were the opposite. the female DVI connection is the same that you would find on a video card or a monitor. the male DVI is the connector that you would find on the actual cable. the male part is always the one with the pins. the female is just where the pins go in. It can be confusing to many.

Unfortunately, this bargain priced DVI adapter just wasn't worth the time or money. The HDMI male plug is cheaply made and literally broke-off the adapter the very first time I plugged it into my DVD player and attempted to unplug it. I returned it for a refund and purchased a similar Monster brand adapter for only a few dollars more.

I saved myself a lot of money buying this converter. My new laptop has an HDMI output (male) and VGA output but my monitor was having problems with VGA. The monitor supported a DVI input and came with a DVI cable. Using this converter, I was able to plug it into my new laptop and now I get great resolution. It's very bright and crisp. If you have the same set up as I do, I'd recommend the $3 to try it out. Well worth it for me.

Just when computer geeks around my city could not help me hook up an external monitor (some were suggesting that I purchase more expensive hook ups) I thought of searching for myself on what the HDMI was all about and found exactly what I was looking for less than ten dollars and fast delivery too. WOW! Because of your kind of serves, I got an HP laptop to recognize a Mac monintor. WOW! Thank you so much for making this poor college student so happy, for less than ten big ones. - Cables - Hdmi To Dvi - Adapters'

Iphone Car Charger

Though I don't have an iPad, I have a bunch of electronic devices that charge via USB and need that extra oomph! I was pretty stoked when I saw this one has a 1A port and a 2.1A port. I have tried standard dual USB chargers that work well for low power devices, and I also had a 1A charger for the more power hungry ones. Unfortunately, that one couldn't handle my Axim, GPS receiver, and Zune at the same time. The Scosche handles that, and I'll bet more, but I'd need a USB hub to find out. It even charged my Axim while charging my Zune from a totally spent state.

It also fits snugly in the AC source in my car unlike the last one I had that kept losing the connection and I had to wiggle it around hoping it wouldn't get dislodged when I hit a bump. And also unlike the last one I had, the LED is bright even in sunlight so I can tell it's working properly.

I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat. Scosche reVIVE II Dual USB Car Charger for iPad

Ok, let's start with everything that is good with this charger - it has very high quality build, and from what i can see inside, it uses high quality electronic components. So i can assume it can output it's listed current. Unfortunately, i wasn't able to test it myself, and i will get to the core issue now. This charger DOES NOT CONFORM to USB charging spec. What this means, is that pin 2 and 3 are not connected. So any device designed for this spec (i.e. everything not Apple) will not recognize this as a charger and will only draw 0.5 amps max. For example, my HTC Desire can barely keep it's battery charge level when running navigation software with GPS enabled.

This issue probably can be solved with specially designed USB cable, and i'm gonna test this idea next, and this is why i give 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. But still, i think this is very serious drawback in otherwise very good charger.

This gadget lasted about 3 months and then stopped charging. Neither port would output anything...just the pilot light worked! I called the company (Scosche), was instructed to return the item for repair/replacement. Then: Nothing! Nada! Zilch! No customer service at all! I e-mailed support and requested a status update and was e-mailed back asking for tracking number for my shipment to Scosche. That was after four weeks of silence. Now I've been waiting another week after supplying tracking info...and nothing. The concept of this device is OK. The service department is underwhelming, by any measure of the word "service". I wouldn't buy anything manufactured or "serviced" by Scosche.

I use this car charger for my Samsung Galaxy S. The 2.1 amp port is perfect for keeping the phone charged while using GPS and playing music. Other chargers, including oem, may not push enough power to allow for a charge with those services and programs running. This little charger fits snug within the socket and there has been no issues with either port, the fit, or design. The additional port comes in handy when using other, less power hungry devices--such as my mp3 player (SanDisk). The only compatibility issue I've come across was with an older HP digital camera that saw the charger as a data connection and refused to charge. I highly recommend this product for anyone with a powerful mobile device that requires a car charger capable of pushing more amps.

Scosche support confirmed that the 2.1 A port does not meet USB specifications. He said you could use the 2.1 A port for an IPhone, but the battery may have a premature failure. If you have a device that relies on the USB limiting the charge current, then you should consider another charger.

Hi, I'm very pleased with this device. It does a great job powering my iPad. My only reservation was regarding the size. I thought it might be rather bulky but it's not. For the price, features and performance I rate it as a great buy.

I got this car charger because I had tried others (that were for iPhones), and they didn't produce enough amperage to power my iPad. This easily handles the chore. There are a few modest minuses --

1 -- It's a bit more expensive than I would expect when compared to the cost of iPhone chargers. On the other hand, very few chargers produce the necesary power, so maybe that's what it costs.

2 -- It is pretty big, almost getting in the way of my shifter (which is next to the accessory outlet that it plugs into).

3 -- It doesn't come with the iPad cable, so you have to use your own, or buy someone else's iPhone charger that has a USB cable, and throw away the other charger. I suppose that this is more of the "it's a bit more expensive ..." point.

All things considered, I'm very happy with it, but I could have been "extremely" happy with it.'

Hp Laptop Battery - laptop battery, battery

This battery arrived 2 days before the suggested arrival date. I replaced a 4400ma battery that died after 15 months of owning my laptop (just 3 months out of warranty) After several calls and emails to HP the best they could do is send me a replacement 4400ma battery for $67.00 plus shipping and handling. I was concerned that it may only last 15 months. I have read many bad reviews about the hp stock battery I had . After searching amazon.com found an 8800ma battery for $54.00. This battery is in my HP Pavilion dv4-1220us laptop. I have read the reviews and some complaints were about the battery being heavy and raised the laptop about a 1/2in. higher than the 4400ma stock battery that came with the laptop. This is not only true for the replacement 12 cell battery, but to note my brother-in-law has a later model hp pavilion with a stock 12 cell battery, and it is the same size as the replacement battery I purchased. If you want a lighter flatter battery then get a 4400ma battery. However my 4400ma stock battery never got me more than 1hr and 30 minutes of power and lasted only 15 months. On the other hand after having this battery for just about a week now I get about 3hrs and 45 minutes of battery life streaming music. It is well worth the extra weight and actually easier to type now that the laptop is angled a little bit. There was another complaint that the battery either fell out of the machine or was a bit shakey, and at times lost connection and the laptop would shut down. Now I don't know about other models of laptops, but on my pavilion dv4-1220us this does not happen. I will say that it does wiggle a little, but my brother-in-law's 12 cell 8800ma stock battery with his ph pavilion also has some wiggle room. All in all for the money compared to what HP wants for the same battery you can't beat it. My only regret is that at the time of posting this review the same battery is 7 dollars cheaper than when I ordered a little over 2 weeks ago. New Laptop Replacement Battery for HP Pavilion dv4 Series, Pavilion dv5 Series , Pavilion dv6 Series

I bought this battery for my HPDV51000 Laptop. I chose this battery over an HP Battery for 2 reasons 1) My original HP battery died after 15 months of use so I didn't want to get another one with the same results, I was hoping to find one that would last longer. 2) This battery had good reviews. I followed all the directions by calibrating the battery several times by fully draining and then recharging it. The battery only lasts for less than 1 hour with all the power settings set to the HP Recommended settings. The original HP laptop battery lasted well over 2 hours on the same settings. Overall I am disappointed.

I got this to replace a dead battery on my HP Pavillion DV-4 (which died after 14 months).

The price was great, compared to getting one direct from HP. So I was a bit skeptical about performance. But now it's been 3 months and it still works fine. Charges just as fast, and the charge lasts as long as the original HP battery did. It's basically just a clone of the HP battery, and these aftermarket batteries can be hit-or-miss. There is always a risk when buying a battery not made by the manufacturer, but I have found this one to work just as well as the first one. I hope it lasts even longer than the original. The battery life of the original HP battery was very dissapointing.

The battery works fine as long as you are using an actual HP power cord with it. When I first got this replacement battery it did not work with the cheap power cord I bought for $15 off here. If you need to replace your battery and/or power cord (as I had to after less than two years), this battery is fine but spend the extra money ($25 on Amazon) and buy the right HP power cord.

I was amazed how quickly the item got to me. I got an email saying that it was going to take much longer, but it arrived in just about a week and a half. It was a lot cheaper than a lot of others, so that made me nervous, but so far it is performing better than the original battery ever did.

I recieved the product in a proper time frame and it was the exact one. The only problem I had was when I searched for this product I wasn't sure if it was the right one but I got help and it turned out to be the correct one.

I bought this battery because my original battery had lost it's ability to hold a charge. Since using this battery, I have the portability of my laptop back and I absolutely love it. This is a good battery, for a good price and I'd definitely recommend it.

The actual product which was delivered was not at all the same as in the description of the product. it does not work for dv5 or dv6 laptops. Even on the delivered charger, it says dv4 charger. u will be cheated.

I was not about to pay $135 for a HP original battery that only lasted me 17 months. I bought from this company because it came with a 2 year warrant and money back guarantee. I will not have to buy another battery again for the next 3-4 years and that in itself is a saving. The battery arrived in just one day with free shipping. It came with great instructions on how to install their new battery with video instructions from their website. So far it's running great and out lasting my previous original HP battery when it was brand new. I will be back and refer my friends and families. Thank you LaptopBatteryOne.com. - Laptop Batteries - Battery - Hewlett Packard - Laptop Battery'

Samsung

I had been holding out for the 2010 42" Samsung Plamsa model to drop in price which I had been patiently watching since early November. When the price was still the same come March - I decided it wasn't getting any cheaper.

When to my surprise Amazon wasn't offering Free Shipping on that TV any, I noticed the 2011 Samsung Plasma's were available and with free shipping - I actually go the new model (which is now +1" to 43")for cheaper than last years Plasma.

Out of the box the TV appearance is a nice liquid glossy-black finish. Very thin TV - probably 1" deep in most spots (excluding where the mount attaches). The input panel required plugs to be plugged in horizontally - so expect to have to have a punch-panel or hole in the wall on the lower left side of the TV screen (lower left if facing the TV) to get the connections to hook-up. Why TV makers won't allow vertical input connections on TV's like this is beyond me.

If not wall mounting it comes with a good quality stand - though one of the mounting holes on the TV was stripped on my mount out of the box - something I didn't discover until days later. Since the free stand is temporary for me and I'll eventually wall-mount, I was not concerned.

Picture quality is what you'd expect from a plasma - bright colors, good blacks, and a little bit of a glossy (reflective) screen. The screen isn't too bad - I use it in a highly lit room and only if the sun is right on it does it bother me.

This set is 720p - and after reading 1000 different opinions/tech articles on 1080p vs 720p and it doesn't matter because you can't really tell the difference unless you are too close. I can say this - you CAN tell a difference if you are coming from 1080p to 720p.

I have a bigger 50" 1080p TV in a different/home theater room. It is also a Samsung - but a much older rear-projection LED (YES - LED, they offered it one way back year - new LED TVs are not rear-projection LED; they no longer make them). The 1080p picture is silky smooth compared to this new Samsung. Don't get me wrong, this set looks really good - if I hadn't spent 4 years watching TV on my other TV I would have never known. But side by side looking close at the 720 screen you see clear pixels - there are no pixels on my 1080p 50" screen - no matter how close I look. On this screen you can see pixels/not-that-sharp of an image from about 3' away. That not-that-sharp image can be see from a distance - the picture just isn't as 'liquid' as my old 1080p. However, until I saw it side-by-side I wouldn't KNOW better to complain - can you see the difference - yes. But my point is you won't know any better till you've seen then side by side. You don't know how clear it can be until you see it.

That said it's still really good for the price and I'd would buy it again since ~$500 was my price range.

Bottom-line this is a good 720p Plasma for the price, but if you are looking for that GREAT picture quality hold-out for a 1080p set. If my 5 year old 1080p looks better than this brand new 720p, the new 1080s have to be even better. Samsung PN43D450 43-Inch 720p 600Hz Plasma HDTV (Black)

Just got this TV! Was wondering between Panasonic and Samsung and LCD vs. Plasma. I bought this one to replace my Panasonic Viera 32" 720p LCD. My room to watch is not so big and the space to place the tv was just right. I don't have a home theater and just use HD from the Comcast source.

The sound is great! The colors are bright and the image response is incredible fast. For sure is not a 1080 (which for this price, still the best buy!)And this is 43inch!

No regrets in getting this! The price, no sales tax and free shipping!! It came in time fashion and right when they told that was going to be here.

If you still wondering about this, pull the trigger, you will NOT regret!!!

This Plasma TV is INCREDIBLE!! I have been researching HD TV's for 2 years and kept going back and forth between LED & Plasma. Trust me, if your primary reason for purchasing a TV is picture quality there is not comparison to the RICH colors of Plasma. If you are a sports fan, this is the TV to buy! Just keep in mind where you locate the TV in a room that you do not have a window or excessive brightnes behind it but the colors are "real" and PLASMA is definitely the way to go. Oh ya, lets not forget the price at Amazon $539.00 with no sales tax & free shipping.

I wanted to buy a 42" flat screen for my bedroom and was deciding between this TV and the Panasonic VIERA TC-P42X3 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV. I don't watch that much TV in my bedroom so a 720p is just fine and I've read you can barely tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. I have also heard that plasma is the way to go over LED and LCD (best picture quality of the 3). The Panasonic model does come with an ethernet port which can take a separately purchased wireless adapter so you can get apps like Netflix, Facebook, etc. on your TV screen. However, a lot of the reviews complained about screen glare. Plus, I bought a Samsung 50" 1080P plasma for my family room in 2008 and it works beautifully. So I went with the Samsung...

The TV looks great out of the box and the stand is very sturdy. The only problem with the stand is that it does not swivel from side to side so you have to pick up the tv and move the stand if you want to change the viewing angle. The plug and play setup is a breeze and you can be watching TV within 30 seconds after plugging in the power and HDMI cable. It only has 2 HDMI ports but for me that's not a problem because I have one going into my Direct TV and the other into a DVD player. I watched Band of Brothers on DVD last night and the picture quality looked great. You can notice a window or sunlight glare if it faces directly on the screen but just close the blinds if this really bothers you. If I put it up side by side with my Samsung 50" 1080p plasma I might be able to notice a slight difference but I doubt it. Overall this is a solid TV for the price and is a perfect TV for the bedroom.

PS - remember to buy the cheap HDMI cables on Amazon. They work just as well as the expensive ones!'

Fishing Equipment

I have two of these and they work great for channel catfish. I have not used them for large blues or caught a flathead on one, but for large channels they hold up nicely. The bait alarm seems gimicky but properly adjusted it has alerted to me to many fish when my back is turned, I'm snelling a hook and not watching, or down the bank putting a fish on the stringer. To make the spincast bait alarm work correctly you have to point the rod tip toward the water so the rod holder needs to be the right kind, not a verticle one. Bass Pro sells a nice bank rod holder that works well with these combos. In 3 years I have had to replace the batteries once on one of the reels (very easy to do), and of course the line should be changed out at least once a year. This is a good combo for beginners and serious fishermen alike, it should not let you down. Zebco HAWG SEEKER/702MH WithBITE ALERT SC Fishing Rod and Reel Combo

got this last week and wow, i was impressed! its hard to judge on the net, but i dont have a local bass pro near me, so i chanced it and im glad i did! the only thing is the batteries were dead in it on arrival, but its only a few bucks to replace it. also the end piece (the half not shown) is yellow. like bright fluorescent yellow lol it was a shock when i opened it, it didnt bother me but i thought it should be mentioned.

Just bought this item and used it over the weekend, works well. If you are contineously casting probably better to turn the alert off could get annoying. The rod is heavier than expected, might not be good for kids or begginers.

This was my first fishing rod. I've already gone on a few trips with it, and it feels great. The spincast is easy to get used to. The length is perfect for what I was looking for. The yellow/green other half not shown in picture is appealing. Comes prespooled with that nice looking red line as well. Downsides are the reel has jammed twice already, and to fix it you have to undo the cover and work on it from the inside. I find the BITE ALERT to be annoying, so I've shut that off as well (take the batteries out while you're at it because if you tap the switch accidentally the sound will still go off.) Still, great rod for a beginner like myself.

Just bought a Zebco rod WithBITE HAWG ALERT SEEKER/702MH SC Fishing Rod and Reel Combo was disappointed by the cane, the salesman told me that the cane was in prefect condition and actually was in very poor condition, apart was not the exact model was very similar, the thread was tangled almost impossible to release at the end I could not use the cane because l mechanism was bad. I recommend not buying from this seller'
