17 Inch Laptop Case - 17 inch laptop case, 17 inch bag

Small and efficient. I bought this to carry and protect my 17" laptop. It is comfortable and light. I have mainly used this bag to provide protection for my laptop in my backpack. It works well for that use.

My only complaint is that there is no convenient place for your laptop charger. But my charger fits (awkwardly) in the accessory pouch on the outside. That is a small price to pay for the compact efficiency of this very nice bag. Kensington K62567US SP17 17-Inch Classic Sleeve Notebook Case (Black)

I was pleasantly surprised when I received this sleeve. I thought that it was going to be flimsy and inexpensively ugly, but, since I am so price concious I went ahead and bought it. Has lots of room with pockets and the bonus was the handles that you can carry the laptop. I am very pleased and glad that I took the risk. My boyfriend had bought me a different one and it arrived at the same time for 3x the amount and it wasn't as versatile. Absolutely what I wanted!!!

This is a top of the line sleeve for all your laptop needs. Two ways to carry and enough storage for all the cords and items needed to make your laptop experience great. We took ours on vacation and it protected everything and yet it was all there ready to plug up when we arrived.

Case works well - probably the closest to a custom fit as you can get - the G71 catches slightly going in if you go back first but if you go front first it slips right in. Ample storage for the usual accessories, mouse, ethernet cabling, power supply in the velcro closure flap - probably add 2 or 3 movies/disks and still fit nicely. Flap has a two-point velcro closure and it stayed secure on a 4-hop airplane trip - got back with everything I left with. Has a rear pocket with a single velcro closure which worked well for carrying flight documents and itinerary. There is padding but it's minimal but appears sufficient. It definitely won't take anything bigger than a 17.3" widescreen laptop. But for anything that size or smaller it's an excellent and inexpensive alternative.

My Sony is a rather large laptop and I looked and looked for a case that was padded, but not too large. And, one that fit such a large laptop. Found it!

The thin back pocket can house a couple of CDs, papers, a couple of flashdrives, etc.

Inside padding isn't extremely thick, but, offers a good bit of protection.

Zipper is sewn on via a separate piece and keeps the computer from rubbing up against it.

Very nice detail. Someone was thinking!

Handles seem well made and there's a carrying strap inside if you need it! Very nice buy!

Comment on another reviewer's comment: The front pocket fits my power cord just fine. I even put my rather large trackball in there! Sure, it's bulky, but, it's not the case's fault. Blame SONY for providing such a large, bulky power cord. (...just kidding)

FYI: My SONY laptop dim.: 15 1/8" by 10 1/8" by 1 1/8" (Monitor is a 16 1/4")

NOTE: Be careful about measurements when buying cases. Most listings are for monitor (diagonal) sizes. But, some cases list the case's OUTER measurements. Just be careful. Adapt the old seamstress motto: Measure twice--Cut once.

Except yours would be: Measure twice--check all wording in product listings regarding measurements, then--BUY once! :-)

This bag fits my 17" MBPro perfectly. It even has enough room to put a neoprene sleeve on my computer for when I have to take it out for security at the airport (though sliding it back in takes two hands with the neoprene on).

I was disappointed yesterday when the shoulder strap metal piece came off. The stitching that holds the metal ring onto the bag simply frayed. There is nothing left of the material that can be used for restitching to reattach the strap. The bag can still be carried my the handles, but of course, the strap makes it much easier.

I've only had this bag 3 months, the size is perfect, just be aware it may wear out quicker than you like. I'm probably going to order another one, even though it has a short life span, because the bag is small enough to be a simple briefcase, and large enough to carry the computer, power cord, a few files, and my Magic Mouse.

This bag fits my 17-inch MacBook Pro nicely and still has room for a mouse, power cord, flash drive, etc. The outside pockets are useful and easily accessible. It's a very nice bag for the money...about a third of what a comparable bag sells for in the Apple store.

The zipper on the main compartment broke after only using it a few times. The stitching and fabric are fine, but a case that does not close is not much good. I would return it, but do not have the time.

When I was in the market for a new lap top, I wanted the BIG 17inch model. I really never planned on walking around or taking the computer with me.Well I just recently went on a trip and brought the computer with me. IT IS HEAVY!! The carrying case is great. Simple, not lots of pockets or compartments. But here is the problem. When going to and from the airports I thought I could slip the bag on the pull up handle of my on board luggage. Not so..... the handle just misses by a fraction of an inch to be able to slide it over and have it rest on my little suit case. I thought I would be able to just roll it around along with my bag, but it didn't turn out that way. The bag is good and it held up very well, it just did not do what I had hoped it would. - 17 Inch Bag - 17 Inch Laptop Case - Great Value - Laptop Case'

Video Production - vc500, usb

I couldn't be happier with this. I'm not a professional video person, but someone who just wants to transfer VHS tapes onto disk. A professional might find some objections to this device, but it works and does exactly what I needed it to do. Plug it into the VCR, plug the other end into the USB port, start up the VCR - hit the record button and Bingo! My VHS movie is now a MPEG movie. No problems with the software or hardware. Well worth the price. Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device

The Diamond VC500 capture device is awesome!

Load the driver program, open the program, plug in the device in the USB, connect to A/V outputs on a VCR or a DVD player, start to play your source (VHS or DVD) and you will see it on your computer screen and hear it through your audio card. Then, when you see the scenes you want, press the record button on the device or on the program and you are capturing.

The tool command on the program allows you to adjust picture capture quality and output mode (and quality).

After years of handling videos by direct transfer from VCR to VCR in order to make a composite, now I can do the editing on my computer. The files created can be used and edited directly in Windows Movie Maker (the device comes with another editing program, but I find WMM to be easier to use with a wider range of output files).

As a person using clips from many movies in an educational setting to illustrate my topics, this device has made my life much easier -- and the quality of what I get is much, much better!!!!!

And all of this for a price much less than the usual video-capture internal card.

(and a hint - you can use this device with sources such as phonographs or tape decks to capture and edit the sound through your USB port without having to delve into the audio input ports on the back of your PC.)

I bought this product to capture VHS tapes onto my computer, which I would then edit in another program. I am running Vista. I installed the software with little difficulty and was up and running in under 10 minutes. However, over the course of using the product, I discovered that the video and audio frequently get out of sync...just enough to be annoying. The audio somehow gets ahead of the video, so after a few minutes of capturing, it gets out of sync and boom, it's worthless (unless you don't care about that, but I personally find it annoying when people's mouths aren't moving in sync with the audio). For me, this is enough to get rid of the product, it doesn't do what I need it to do. I gave it two stars instead of 1 because if you're just trying to capture something small, like 30 seconds long, it should be fine. However, for anything longer, forget it.

I also found that the software that comes with it is a bit buggy with Vista. It changes the color scheme when you open it up, which causes your screen to go blank for several seconds. Then, if your computer goes to sleep while you're recording, you can't get it to wake up and have to completely restart which is a huge pain. But then again, if your computer is set to go to sleep after 20 minutes, it won't matter because by then the video and audio will be WAY out of sync (it gets progressively worse as time goes on, starting to be noticeable after 3-4 minutes).

Luckily, I didn't listen to the other reviewers here and actually checked the reviews on Newegg. Glad I did, this product is awesome! The quality is great (however, you must change the the output settings to something other than default of VCD [read the manual on how to do so]). It doesn't have Vista support (but being a gamer, I am staying on Windows XP).

The VC500 is great for recording gameplay on videogame consoles.

It's best if you do install the Software that comes with it. Movie Maker has a hard time capturing from this device, but the software that comes with this works a lot better.

If you are trying to decide whether to buy the Pinnacle Dazzle or this, I would suggest you buy this because:

1. It's cheaper

2. The quality is the same, if not better than the Dazzle

3. The Live Preview allows you to play console games in full screen

4. The software is high quality

5. Comes with a RCA Audio/Video Cable (which is one less purchase to make)

I have a 15 yr old analog camcorder, and wanted to transfer the original tapes to my computer. I'm an old (mid 80s) guy. not really skilled with computers. But, I had no trouble installing the Diamond capture device. Connected it to the camcorder, plugged it into the USB port, started playing back the video, pushed the button on the capture device, and without further ado a 2 hour, analog video was in my computer as a *.avi file. All I could ask for. I heartily recommend it.

I have a very good, but older, video camera plus some older tapes. In addition I have some 35mm slides and device for recording them on a VCR. Up until the Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device came along, the only solutions for capturing the videos and slides digitally were expensive and cumbersome. I've been waiting for a better solution.

The Diamond VC500 One Touch Video Capture Device is very simple to install and use. It enables me to move my old tapes to more convenient and modern DVD format with minimal hassle. The added convenience of being able to digitally edit the captured videos is a plus. I'm not all that fond of the application user interface's style, but it's very workable.

The quality of the captured videos is quite acceptable for my home-made videos. I've not tried to use this on commercial-quality VHS tapes.

I would caution buyers to ensure they have a fast enough computer, enough memory, and enough disk capacity for the videos. - Usb - Video Production - Vc500 - Video'

Laminating Machines - office supplies, laminators

I had been purchasing my laminating pouches from a major office supply chain for $48.99 for 100 5 mil letter pouches. When I discovered that I could buy the same(different brand)product through Amazon for only $14.99 I was skeptical. Most of the time, if something seems too good to be true it is. However, I decided to take the chance, and I am so glad that I did. This product is made of quality materials; it works just as well, maybe even better, than the more expensive one. The products seals tightly, and I have never had one stick in my machine. I am a teacher, and I go through at least 100 pouches a month; I am overjoyed to have discovered this product! 5 mil Letter hot Laminating Pouches 100/box 9" x 11.5" glossy thermal laminator pockets

I just got a thermal lamination machine for home use and bought these generic 5 mil pouches. i'm laminating Bible study lessons for our hot tub and need waterproof pages. so i'm printing my lessons off the computer, and laminating them. the 5 mil pouches definately work better than the 3mil. and after the page is laminated i had it submerged completely in hot tub water about 95 degrees and water did not get inside it. i also needed to punch 3 holes into the lamination to store the lessons afterwards. this took some trial and error. if i laminate the page, punch holes with a 3 hole punch, it worked great if only the lamination pouch was punched through. if the holes also went through the paper, then water got in that way. so now, i just cut my 8.5" by 11" paper to be smaller so the hole punch doesn't go through it. i was also able to submerge the 3 hole in hot tub water for over 20 minutes and no water got it. it worked terrific! i also made bookmarks with this product. i cut the bookmarks and spaced them into the letter pouch, and after laminating, i cut around each bookmark. it works great! just make sure if you cut the lamination after laminating, you don't cut the paper also. and i had to round the corners of the bookmarks since the 5 mil was very sharp. this product rocks!

I purchased these laminating pouches to use with my cheap Scotch Laminator from Walmart and I love them. The 5m pouch is wonderful, but if I don't give the machine an adequate warm up time they will not fully seal. No problem, just let the machine warm for a couple of extra minutes and it will seal fully - even on the second try.

The thickness of the pouches gives my materials extra durability that I love. With 3m pouches I have to use card stock to make it sturdy enough, but with the 5m pouches I frequently skip the card stock and just use regular paper.

I have used these pouches to help set up my son's PECS book he has Autism and uses the pictures to communicate these pouches work perfect every time no bubbles or separation very durable so I can laminate his artwork too! Shipping was fast even with super saver shipping and one of the best prices anyone can find online and with his expenses I check several places for the lowest price and ended up buying these so no need to spend the time shopping around I did the work for you :-)

I used to purchase my lamination paper at Staples and/or Office Max. I would pay over $50 for 100 sheets. The sheets at office supply stores are typically smaller. The dimensions on these sheets are wider and longer and the quality of the lamination is better in my opinion. I use it with my Scotch laminater and it works perfect. This product is such a quality purchase at a super price. I have purchased this lamination paper several times and I have recommended it to all of my co-workers and friends. :) Basically it is a super fabulous deal!!! :)

With the economy being what it is, I search out bargains and hope for the best. I've found some new products, as well as new stores, both brick and mortar and on the web. I feel that excellent deals need to be shared with anyone who could benefit from a quality product at a great price.

Well, these laminating pouches are as good if not better than any I have previouly used at prices much higher. They are clear, and true to spec. At this price, experimenting with heat lamination is a worthwhile event. Actually I have only had one semi-failure and it was my fault for not aligning the pouch correctly in the feed of my laminator.

The price is certainly right on these, but my wife doesn't like them as much as the Scotch brand pouches. She notices some warping and apparent air pockets that she doesn't get with the regular Scotch brand. This doesn't appear consistent, though, and so most of the time the finished product looks ok. I'm giving only 4 stars since these aren't as perfect as other brands, but not lower since these are so affordable and work the majority of the time.

Excellent pouches for laminating. They are thicker than I imagined. I`ve only used 3 mil in the past. They scraped a bit in my machine but that is because I have a very cheap laminating machine ($20.) They would be fine in a cheap machine for doing paper but I was doing photos. I need a better laminating machine. I really like the quality from this company. - Home Laminator - Laminators - Office Supplies - Laminating Supplies'

Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditio... - curly hair, cleansing conditioner

I bought Wen Sweet Almond Mint because so many people (on here) said great things about it. I really didn't care for it. Keep in mind that all hair types are different and different things work for different people. That being said, my hair is pretty thick, medium length and dry. My hair is the type where the longer you wait to wash it, the more tame and beautiful it becomes, until it starts to get greasy at the roots. So I thought Wen would be perfect for me; conditioning with just enough cleanser. I used it how it says to and I was not impressed. My hair was pretty limp and weird after, like it wasn't really clean, even though I made sure it had been completely washed out. The trick to Wen is that it conditions your hair without harsh chemicals that shampoos use. As far as using cold water, people have been saying that for years about ANY type of shampoo. It's always better to wash with cold. If you are looking for a product like Wen, the best advice I can give you is to wash your hair less frequently and use a conditioner to "wash" it in between. So if you are washing everyday, wash every other day and on the days you aren't washing, rinse your hair with conditioner. That helps keep it clean, rinsing out excess dirt, while conditioning it and not putting harsh chemicals in your hair. I hope this review helps! Best of luck! Oh one more thing, the pump seriously sucks. It stopped working for me after the second wash (I still have plenty of product left).

I bought this through Amazon, no problems with shipping and the product came quickly! WEN® Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner 16oz

For more than a year I've been using WEN Sweet Almond Mint and Cucumber Aloe Cleansing Conditioners, alternating between the two because my hair quickly gets product fatigue. Although I have an oily scalp and lots of fine, wavy dry hair, with WEN my hair is very soft and my scalp never feels greasy. I've been able to reduce the frequency of hair washing to every other day rather than daily because of this product. And although my hair gets curly and frizzy in humidity, since using WEN the frizz is gone and the curls are controlled.

There are some steps you can take to make your experience with WEN successful. First, if you have any questions about which of the Cleansing Conditioners is right for your hair type, visit the Chaz Dean Web site and use the Contact Us link to either call or e-mail them for advice. Then come back to Amazon to place your order. Second, read the ingredients lists that Amazon includes on the product pages. If you're allergic to any of the ingredients, don't purchase the product.

Third, once you've received your product, watch the Instructional Videos on the Chaz Dean Web site. Each begins with a ~30 second promotional message, but then they show you step-by-step how to use each product. These videos are the reason I stayed with WEN Cleansing Conditioner. When I first started using the product, I wasn't using enough and I wasn't applying it correctly. Consequently, my hair felt waxy, though it was soft and it styled more easily than it did with traditional shampoos. Since watching the videos and following those instructions, I've had no difficulties with the product.

Finally, once you learn how to use the product, find what works best for you. Maybe you need less or more, maybe it works as a leave-in, or maybe not. It shouldn't take you long to fine-tune your perfect cleansing routine. The longer you use the Cleansing Conditioner, the better it performs, and the more you'll love your hair.

I used the WEN sweet almond mint cleansing conditioner about 5 times. I didn't notice any strong smell of anything (it neither smelled like sweet almonds nor did it smell bad, it has a lotion consistency). I have long, fine, fairly healthy hair and used about 16 pumps of it. As stated it didn't lather up which didn't bother me. I know it states to use a lot more pumps of it but quite frankly with long hair the 16 oz bottle would be empty by now would I have followed the directions and its just too expensive to only use it for a few washes. After rinsing it out my hair felt soft. After towel drying my hair, combing through it seemed easier. I applied a couple of WEN pumps as a leave-in conditioner and let my hair air dry. Once my hair was dry it looked just like I had used my usual DOVE shampoo, perhaps slightly softer. I didn't notice any more shine after using WEN. So all in all, for me the results were not dramatic enough to justify spending that kind of money especially since with long hair you will go through this stuff in no time. I liked the 2-in-1 concept (shampoo and conditioner), since it's saving time, however, I believe you probably do better with this product if you have more damaged hair than me and blow dry your hair.

I had really high hopes for this product after watching the infomercial. I have naturally curly hair and I'm always looking for products that will give me frizz control without weighing my hair down or making it crunchy. This product smells great, but it made my hair look greasy even without using it as a leave-in conditioner (and I don't have oily hair). It also left it twice as frizzy, regardless of which products I used after washing. My hair was definitely softer than before, but completely out of control.

The styling cream seems like it could be a decent product on its own, but beware of using with any other products as it will congeal and leave you with little gelatinous chunks in your hair!

I think that for someone with straight hair, this would probably be a decent product. It smells great all day, make your hair soft, but it just doesn't control the frizz. I can't recommend it to anyone with naturally curly hair. - Wen - Cleansing Conditioner - Curly Hair - Shampoo'

Optical Audio Cable - digital audio, fiber optic cables

I'm usually a big fan of Belkin, but this optical cable has such a poor fit in my receiver it's disappointing. I had to use a cable tie alongside another wire and now it is resting where it is supposed to go, but not solidly held in place. There's no need to spend ridiculous amounts of money on Monster's high end cables, (digital is digital is digital), but their bargain variety is a better option than this. Belkin Av20000B03 PureAV Digital Optical Audio Cable - 3 Ft.

This cable is perfect for transfering digital sound to your Home Theater system from any additional player. It seems very good with the gray color and comes with protection for the tips in case you diconnect it.

Be careful with the length, it could trick you if your two equipments are some far (notice that it is only three feet long). But for those that don't want to have a lot of cables hanging from the back of the stand, this is the one.

I'm using it for transfering the digital sound of my playstation 3 to the audio receiver. I'm very satisfied.

Yes - I should have read the reviews before buying these. The fit is extremely loose, to the point that you will need to do something to ensure the cables remain plugged. I have used duct tape whenever I could, but perhaps adding some crazy glue to the outer portion of the plug, then waiting for it to dry, then plugging it - could also work because it seems that these cables were just cut a millimeter short - and thats why they are so cheap.

For the price of the cable and the fast service by antonline, I have no problems at all!!! So good,I bought 2 at the same time along with a digital optic switch to go between my DirecTv box, Sony DVD player and a Sony home theater unit... I'm VERY HAPPY!!!!

Hooked up the optical cable from my A/V to my DVD and the sound is awesome.

Optical digital cables do not use copper to transmit data, but pulses of light. Since there is no interference, the signal does not degrade over long distances and it does not weaken. With optical digital cables, you can get one of the best reproductions of digital signals available.

First when I ordered this cable I thought that it was going to be very very poor quality and it would look very cheap... But when it arrived I note that I was wrong it is a good heavy cable...It works great with my PS3!!!!

Great! Used to distribute the audio from my cable TV to my Sony receiver, and works great. As you connect it on one of the ends, the other will emit a red light, so you can REALLY see where you are connecting it. Highly recommended.

Having read a few reviews that complained that this optical cable didn't fit snuggly, I was a little worried that I'd experience the same problem. But I connected my new Harden Kardin receiver to my new Pioneer 301 disk changer, and the fit is perfect and snug. Also, I don't think I'm imagining it, the sound is better with the optical connection.

Absolutely a nice cable. Packaged with a well protected optic end cover and not folded over in the package. Installation is indicated with an audible click requiring minimal effort. Great price for a good cable.

This cable is great, Im using three of them for my home theater in my AX720 and my optical switch. These work great however the terminator on each cable is slightly longer than usual so the fit depending on your receiver might be an issue and it wont be as secure as you'd expect also careful removing the caps, I managed to pull the fiber off one of the terminators when I pulled it off initially. - Fiber Optic Cables - Optical Audio - Digital Audio - Toslink'

Light Weight - outdoors, cool

The ExOfficio Boxer Brief is the best underwear out there. Period.

Get over the price-scare - yes, $25 is a lot of money for underwear, but they're well worth it.

Fits well, reduces chafing, wicks sweat, fights odor.

You can live on two pairs of these - wash one at night, wear the other. Wrap it in a towel, stomp dry - should be ready in a few hours.

I purchased a medium and a small. I'm 5'7" tall, 30" waist, and the small is a better fit. ExOfficio Men's Give-N-Go Boxer Brief,Black,Medium

I wore a pair of these on a 3-day backpacking trip on the Alabama Pinhoti Trail. They kept me pleasantly cool, dry, & odor-free...plus they prevented chafing perfectly (I'm a 5'9"/190lbs man, so I have a little more fat on my inner thigh than I wish I had).

I would highly recommend these boxer briefs.

I travel the world and these are perfect. Multi-day wear if necessary or they wash and dry quickly - overnight at the longest. I carry about 4 pair for multi-week trips.

I was skeptical at first but after trying them on the road, these are much more comfortable than any cotton underwear I ever wore. Really a great fabric. And they seem to last forever.

I now own about 10 pair or so for daily wear.

First of all, I congratulate you for reading underwear reviews. Clearly you're searching for the best--not necessarily the best in underwear--but you may have searched for the best in safari, tropical, or travel clothes.

Like me, you're saying: Really? A pair of underwear got 56 people to log in, type up a word or two, and give 5-stars to A PAIR OF UNDERWEAR! Either ExOfficio spends way too much on a secondary product's social media or the Men's Give-N-Go(tm) Boxer Brief is the best pair of underwear ever!

Hard to believe, but it's probably the latter. Most reviews say that this underwear is great for a month's trek through wherever. It probably is and I wish I had this underwear when I roamed. I'll add this to those extreme scenarios:Any day that you wear this underwear, it delivers everything promised in adventure-wear. It's Teflon. It's cool, dry, and forgotten: all day meetings; sales meetings; presentations to your boss's boss--you won't think about what's under your suit.

I am 6' 160lbs with about a 31" waist. I ordered a medium but it seems kind of big. I ordered a small and will see how that fits compared to a medium. the medium is listed as 32-24" and small at 28-30"..... what about a 30-32" waist?!

i bought 2 pair of these underwear after reading the excellent reviews.

i needed something for extended walks/bike rides (8-10 miles) to help prevent chafing and to keep me comfortable and dry. these definately do the trick. cotton briefs were making my walks miserable and to the point of being unbearable.

at first, looking at the $25 price tag for a pair of underwear, i was almost to the point of trying to live with the discomfort. thank goodness i went ahead and purchased these. it is unbelievable how much of a difference these make for my walks. btw.. i now walk/ride 10-12 miles at a time with no discomfort at all.

care for this item is almost too simple. i wash mine in the bathroom sink with a very small amount of detergent and hang dry for a few hours and they are ready to go again.

my advice - buy you a pair and you will not regret the price one bit.

UPDATE - after owning these garments for 5 months and after a good test run in the extreme heat and alot of hand washings, i recommend these underwear even more. they have held up great and the comfort is excellent. i initially bought 2 pair because of the price scare. i see them at $17.98(size large/ocean color) each with free shipping. keep an eye on the price as it fluctuates often. i am ordering 3 more pair today.

I bought 6 of these for my husband, because the one we'd purchased locally prior to that had quickly become his favorite pair of everyday briefs. Now, he has one for each day of the week, and although they're not cheap, I think they're worth their weight in gold. So far, after several months of wear, they show no signs of degradation, and my husband says they're the most comfortable underwear he's ever had. He also wears them when he works out at the gym and loves their wicking ability. My teenage son is now requesting some, too, so I'll be placing another order soon.

The price seems steep. But it's worth it.

For once a product description fits. Wash 'em, roll 'em up in a towel, squeeze the towel a bit,

then hang 'em to dry for three hours. Considering my place has no washer / drier, the quick dry-ness

of the ExOfficio briefs is a lifesaver.

And they are the most comfortable pairs of underwear I have ever owned. Bought four for traveling

and threw out the old cotton boxers. They weigh as much as a handkerchief. - Backpacking - Cool - Outdoors - Light Weight'

Digital Voice Recorder - mic, adjustable

This mini microphone is small, light & easy to bring anyway. It's perfect for my laptop during Skype & Yahoo Messenger calls. Surprisingly the voice quality is quite good. With the the flexible neck, I can turn it facing my mouth direction, hence I can sit back & relax while talking without leaning toward my laptop screen (where the built-in microphone located). I'm really satisfied with this product. It's a small price to pay for such convenient product. Highly recommended! Mini 3.5mm Flexible Microphone for PC/Laptop/Skype

The first mic they sent looked just like the photo except it had a silver stem. That's the mic I originally wrote this review for.

The mic doesn't plug firmly enough into the microphone jack to prevent it from falling over, and it doesn't pick up sound well enough to be so far from the user's mouth. The sound is too faint to be of any use, even with microphone input set to maximum. My clip-on mic picks up sound better laying on my keyboard. In order for this mic to work, I have to lean over with my mouth just a few inches away from it. There's no way it would work for Skype. It would cost more to send it back than what I paid for the mic, so it makes no sense to return it for a refund, but it isn't worth the little money I paid for it either.

Since I wrote the review above, I ordered another of the same mic from a different seller (see comments below). The second mic has the black stem, and guess what ... it works GREAT. It works as well or better than my clip-on mics. It also fits firmly into the mic plug so it doesn't fall over like the first mic did. Clearly, either two different mics are being sold as the same one (one silver, one black) or there are two different colors of the same mic made my a company with absolutely horrible quality control. Both mics were purchased as the same mic (from this same page), so it's anyone's guess which one they'll get. I could average my one star and 5 star ratings and give this this product three stars, but which mic you get is a total gamble, and for that alone, it still deserves just one star.

This mic is great no matter where your mic port is on your laptop. I love that it is flexible. It works with vista and picks up my voice without having to shout. It's only about 4-5 inches long and would be easy to travel with. The sound quality was pretty good. I recorded a test track and it sounded loud and clear. This would be great for video chat.

I bought this microphone in October and it just would not work. I tried everything possible-went into the control panel and played with the audio and sound device settings, but to no avail. I needed it for a class, and it let me down, so I was unhappy with it, to say the least. It was too cheap to bother sending back, so I just wrote it off. I left negative seller feedback for HDE, which I guess was wrong. I should have done this review in the first place. HDE harassed me until I deleted the feedback. I just thought I would let people know that you may want to go for a more robust microphone if you need it for something important.

(11/03/2009) I got this small microphone today and used it to chat on gmail. I was told that the sound quality has improved very much. Before that, I used to use the built-in microphone in my laptop. Very good product so far. If anything changes, I will post an update.

Okay, first off I ordered this for my pc. Yes, I know it's for labtop, but it was too cheap to pass up. How did I get it to work for my pc? Easy. I used a 3.5mm to 3.5mm extender cable, and I sit the mic on top of my monitor. The result? a very nice pc mic for a very low price. Okay, it's not studio quality but it works for me on online gaming and voice chat.

For those saying "It doesn't work, the sound is so low".....You need to edit the setting in your sound and boost the mic. By default, the settings will be low as anything, so of course it won't pick up anything. After you go to your sound setting and boost the mic, you should notice it picking you up fairly well.

I did several tests with this mic to see how well it worked, and it picked me up fine over 3 ft away from it, 15 ft as well but a bit quieter(I keep testing to see how well it works.) so I say the test worked fairly well, and I am happy with my bargain purchase.

Edit 4/9/10:

Been a few days and the mic still works great. I have been using it daily for chatting and on voice chat on some online games. People can hear me fine and there have been no issues. People have commented that they can hear me "loud and clear". I am also not up close to the mic, I haven't moved it from my monitor.

I honestly don't hope for much when I'm shopping on such a tight budget but amazon always manages to surprise me. I laughed at myself for putting this mic in my cart. My bf made fun of me for being cheap. Now who's laughing...the thing actually works...well. O.K. so the arm doesn't necessarily stand up str8...who cares, I caught it for like eighty cents. The sound is great. Hope this helps in your search. - Flexible - Mic - Adjustable - Mini'
