I ordered this booklight with a reasonable amount of skepticism. In my past experience, booklights have been bulky, clunky, heavy, and they all seem to drain their batteries really quickly. However, this is far from the case with the stylish and small Verso. Good things come in sleek packages. The design of the product fits right in with the style of the Kindle.



First of all, the Verso is compact. It's small enough to fold up and easily fit into your purse or pocket. Second, it clips onto my Kindle with ease, and works even with the leather case I have. The design of the Verso clip is done in such a way that it conforms to the shape of your Kindle. Third, the Verso is extremely lightweight. It doesn't weigh down the Kindle, and the responsive bendable arm makes comfortable adjustment a cinch. You also don't need to have it directly over the Kindle to give you enough light while reading.



Which brings me to my final and perhaps most important point: the Verso is BRIGHT. But not 'ah! there's glare on my screen!' bright. It gives the perfect amount of natural looking light that is easy on the eyes. It also comes with two spare replaceable batteries, but I honestly can't imagine using those anytime soon. I've been using the Verso with my Kindle every night since I purchased it, and it shows no signs of fading.



With these awesome features and ease of use, the Verso was a strong contender when I was shopping for booklights. The $19.99 price just sealed the deal. Overall, it's a fantastic product for the money, and I would highly recommend it to those looking for a little e-book illumination. I have been a long time Kindle owner and have tried a bunch of different lights. I love this one. It is nice and small, very bright and light weight. The clip fits perfectly on the Kindle frame and also works great on my Kindle cover. Most importantly, there is no problem with glare like I have experienced with the other lights.

Light is bright and excellent illumination for the Kindle screen! If you don't travel a great deal, it's a delight for sleepers who have reading spouses! Have only rated it a 3-star because of a battery compartment design issue. We travel a great deal and there is no case nor protection for the on/off switch. Therefore, the light inadvertently gets turned on while in the bag, then has no battery life left when needed. To get around this problem, we must remove the batteries after each use and then re-install, which is time consuming and awkward. Please re-think the design and give us something more travel friendly.

I got this for my husband to go with his new Kindle and he is pleased. The light is sufficiently bright (at least for reading the Kindle) and the clip is small enough that there is no danger of clipping on the screen and causing any damage. It would have been nice if it had two light levels like some other models, but I felt the smaller clip was more important.

I bought my first Kindle in late November, I disregarded reviews and bought the Kindle Lighted Leather Cover. The light is horrible, bottom half of the screen isn't lit well at all! So, looking to get better lighting...I researched options on Amazon and saw Amazon Reviewer/Shopper Erin Cormier's video review of the Versa Clip-On Light. Her video showed all of the features and convinced me to buy the Versa Clip-on Light.



As Ms. Cormier's video shows, this light clips on the top or side without covering the screen. It is very flexible so I can shift it depending on where I am reading.



Two unexpected benefits. First, I can leave the light clipped to the Kindle and bend it across the top of the closed case...I don't have to take it on and off as I expected. Second, the light came with extra batteries!



There is a reason this light keeps selling out. Don't waste money on a lighted cover, get this light instead!

I have tried a number of Kindle book lights and this one is by far the best. It is light weight and clips easily onto my Kindle both with the cover on and with the cover off. The neck is the perfect length - not too long to be awkward to use and difficult to store and just long enough to allow light to shed over the full screen. Best of all, the light is bright, yet doesn't create glare or shadows. I can comfortably read in a dark room. Finally a well designed, practical and effective light for the Kindle!

This is an excellent light for the Kindle.



I'm a long time Kindle user and read by booklight most nights. I've had a few different lights and this one is by far the best. Its solid and fits well. Very bright (brighter than other lights I've used) but no glare. Everything I need in a Kindle light.

I just got this light for my Kindle, and I love it! The light is very bright, especially considering its size. It provides a nice amount of light without glare (even in the dark). It is lightweight, and it clips on to my Kindle case without adding a lot of extra bulk. The compact size makes it easy to take with you anywhere. The extra batteries were also a nice bonus!'

Hard Drive Enclosure - drive enclosures, hdd enclosure

Bought this enclosure to use an 80GB Sata HDD that I replaced. The port works fine, and as far as I can tell, temperature is not terrible. The product did not include, however, the small screws that are supposed to go into the top of the mount. Without these, the HDD can just slide out of the aluminum casing. It is not a show stopper, since a piece of electrical tape works just fine, it is just that the product should come with everything needed to use it properly. You get what you pay for... 2.5" USB 2.0 SATA Hard Drive HDD Case Enclosure

I bought this enclosure to recover data from a laptop. Installation is easy. The interface adapter from the old laptop hard drive has to be removed before connecting to the circuit board. I was able to copy the data from the hard drive once the enclosure was plugged in. There was no attempt to mount the hard drive on the enclosure with the two small screws. Will this enclosure last? I have no idea and it doesn't matter. All I know is that I paid $7.80 for this enclosure and it worked well enough to recover data from a dead laptop. The product gets a five star rating for a data recovery job accomplished.

I bought two of these to upgrade two different laptops to SSD and use their original drive as an external.

Both Enclosures failed miserably. I tried the onboard usb 2.0 ports on 6 different laptops and 2 different (core 2 and core i5) desktops and although it recognizes the drive you can't format or use the drive in the enclosure. Even a quick format fails. This is on 3 different 2.5" drives tested. Also tried using a Vantec USB 3.0 Powered Hub and Asus NEC USB 3.0 card, didn't make any difference.



Looking at the cable system I decided to flip the usb cable around, using the 2 sided end on the drive, and it works! Drive is recognized, formats, and can write to the drive. So if you are having troubles, connect the end with the two cables to the drive, then connect the short cable to a usb port and reach the long cable length around back to another usb port.

Made with an all metal construction that could easily short out the hard drive. In addition to that it has a terrible non-mini usb slot on the enclosure and the usb cable doesn't even fit in it because it's made so poorly. All this and when I finally force the cable in and plug it into my computer it dosn't recognize that there is even a drive plugged in. I have never had this problem with any of the other enclosures i've bought. Save yourself the trouble and invest an extra $5 to get a working one.

I bought this item after my laptop bit the dust. My wife and I had several hundred pictures, songs, etc. that we had not backed up. I didn't want to pay for a professional recovery service, so I did a bit of research and decided to give this product a try. I was able to connect it to my old HDD (which was only readable after a trip to the freezer) and recover most of the data we had lost (not all of it, but most). For the price, I don't think I could've done better. Oh yeah, I will be backing up frequently from now on.

Works as advertised. Used a Toshiba 110gb laptop drive from a "dead" machine. No problem getting the drive installed but there were NO instructions included at all. One must remove any drive carriage from the drive itself or it won't fit. 4 screws took off the Toshiba drive carriage and then the drive fit right in. No noise or vibration and the speed is good. It works on our ASUS laptop with Win7 and a desktop with WinXP. Haven't even needed the 2nd USB power plug on the included Y connector.

This is a seriously cheap piece of hardware. For a one-time recovery of a hard-drive from a fried laptop this unit is an excellent choice. The hard-drive in question had both an xp (ntfs) and linux (ext3) partitions. Two very good mounts. I needed two mounts and I saw two Cheetah Mounts, the APTMMB and APTMM2B. I was not sure which to buy and so I bought one of each. Both of them did a good job - very sturdy and easy to install. I already left a good review for the APTMM2B. The APTMMB also worked. The biggest difference between the two is the part which hangs on the wall. The part which attaches to the back of the TV is literally the same for both. Regarding the wall part, the APTMM2B has 4 pieces which connect together to form a rectangle. Putting these together takes about 2 minutes. The APTMMB instead comes in a larger box and the wall plate is a single piece. My only reason for giving a lower score for the APTMMB is that I did not feel they explained this difference between the two mounts in the item descriptions and I did not think it was right to charge $3 extra for the APTMMB for something that only took 2 minutes to put together. But I guess the fact that the APTMMB wall plate is a single piece and not "assembled" probably does make it a little more secure and easier for a lot of people. So I guess you can decide if the $3 is worth it for you. I hope this does make the difference between the two mounts clearer for future buyers.

On the good side, both mounts shipped quickly, included two levels to help with installation, decent manuals written in English! I could read, and lots of screws options for mounting. By the way, my TVs were both Sharps and they actually already had screws for the wall mount, so I only really used the screws to put the wall pieces into the wall. There were literally like 20 or 30 screws in both mounts plus spacers and washers in case your TV doesn't already have screws like my Sharps, but I did not need them. The boxes were good quality and the mounts shipped double boxed! - something which Amazon always seems to do, but not always their partner sellers. My mounts Did Not ship together which I kind of expected, but the two mount boxes are different sizes and so that may not have been possible.

All in all, I was very happy with the Cheetah mounts. If you are not that handy and like the convenience, I guess you can pay the extra $3 for the APTMMB. For me, if I ever need any more mounts, I will save the $3 and get the APTMM2B model. Either way, they do the job at a crazy low price. Not really sure how these guys make any money. Great mount. You could hang a volkwagon on the wall. Every kind of screw and bolt you can imagine included. If you don't know the difference between a lag bolt and a molley bolt, get help. If you buy a wagon, barbecue grill, or bicycle, and can't put it together, you probably shouldn't hang anybody's bracket and put your tv on it. This bracket is 30" wide. You shouldn't have trouble with 24" center studs, even if you have to drill a hole. No drill? This is not for you. Use the lag bolts on studs. You could do chin ups on this. I know they include two molleys. Two molley's are not enough on sheetrock. I know they include concrete plugs, I wouldn't use them, could be too short if you are hanging on fireplace. Use longer concrete anchors, and know what you are doing. This bracket might be too big for a 32" tv, not that you couldn't hang it, but you might be able to see the bracket from the sides. I hung a 50" Pani, and yeah they included the screws that fit the back of the tv, in two lengths too. The pocket depth on the Pani screw holes must be 1 1/2". I used the long screws. Oh yeah, there are locking screws on the bottom after you hang your tv. A tornado could take the house, but your TV will still be attached to the wall in Kansas. If none of this has scared you. Buy this bracket. It's a steal. Avoid the yo yo that is selling it for $150.

If you buy a flat-panel TV at one of the big-box stores, they're going to try to sell you a wall-mount costing $200 or more. Don't do it. This mount is affordable, made of high-quality materials, and has a pretty good range of adjustment when it comes to tilting the screen to the right angle for your room. I hung my 46-inch Samsung LCD, and I don't worry about it a bit -- it's very secure, and was simple to install.

After buying my new Sony Bravia 46z4100 I was in the mood to get the perfect mount no matter how much it cost. When I saw the 30 dollar price tag on the Cheetah I almost clicked past it but decided to read some of the positive reviews about the mount. I'm glad I did because I just finished setting it up and couldn't be happier.



The mount was extremely easy to setup. I am severely "mechanically declined" and was a little nervous when unpackaging this mount. The 1 page instruction sheet was simple (as long as you ignore the steps involving connecting the mount to a cement wall). There are at least 4 different screw sizes to use so I didn't have to buy additional hardware to connect it to the mount. I have 24" spacing between studs and because of the elongated holes in the mount there was no trouble getting the bolt into the center of the stud. The really neat thing about the mount is it clips on to the wall bracket so you can slide it to the left and right to reposition it on your wall if you want or easily unmount it. With it on the wall there is still plenty of room to get behind the tv and connect/disconnect cables and adjust the screw that moves the tilt.

The photograph shows a splitter with a full DVI pin count. The actual item is NOT what is shown in the photo!! The cable has only enough DVI pins to support a single monitor display, and it simply splits that signal to a second monitor. So, this cable is just intended to show the same computer image on two displays and nothing more. You cannot use it for a dual monitor desktop setup. I just needed a splitter so I could hook up my 19" LCD Tv to my computer so I could watch Hulu and other online stuff while using my elliptical. I only hooked up a 6' VGA, so maybe you might see some signal degredation if you use a longer cable.



Two notes though...my monitors wouldn't display correctly until I updated my graphics card drivers (I have an 8600 GT powering two LCD monitors...then splitting off one to go to the TV).



Also, the main screen is blurry if the cable is not connected at both ends.'

I recently purchased this printer in an effort to free up more space in my home office. I replaced my laser printer, scanner and fax with this single compact unit and couldn't be happier. As others have mentioned, the duplex printing feature is a MAJOR plus in my opinion - a feature that they've seemed to include as a "freebie" and adds major points over competitors. The quick start guide was really simple and I was up and running in a matter of minutes.



A super quiet machine when not in use (thanks to the Energy Saving feature), I've used the printing features and the results are timely, crisp, clean pages with seemingly excellent paper handling (no jams so far). It's got many more print options (2 on 1 page, 4 on 2 pages which is really 4 on 1 with the duplex option) and a ton of other cool features and capabilities that aren't listed in the product description. I have sent and received faxes without a problem. Copying is just like using the larger machines: just lift the cover or use the document feeder to copy originals. I haven't scanned anything yet, so I can't comment on that particular functionality, but the manual mentions scanning to PDF which is what I really need and like.



Size is truly relative - It is a bit larger (height and width) than my old laser printer (a Samsung); but does 4 times more work and its footprint is definitely smaller than the three units I replaced!



For less than $200 with free shipping, it's solved my space problems and exceeded my expectations regarding functionality and quality. A great deal, imo. I highly recommend!! Canon imageCLASS MF4150 Laser Duplex P/s/c/f 21PPM Adf

Awesome:

1. Very quiet.

2. Goes in to hibernate quickly to save energy and bursts back to life instantly when needed.

3. Great print quality.

4. Does it all (except for color)including fax, copy, scan, and duplex printing.

5. Duplex printing saves a lot of resources (paper and money).

6. Most of the settings and buttons are user friendly.

Not so awesome:

1. The manual that comes with it is nice and easy to read and use, but skips too many "advanced features". For advanced features you must look at the online .pdf guides.

2. Even with the advanced guide, it is not immediately obvious to me how to set up the machine so it will screen calls as phone or fax. It wants to answer all calls as a fax machine. I need to experiment more with the available (but confusing) settings that should fix this.



I like having a do it all printer but also realized I no longer need or want color. Here's why:

1. Printing photos at home is not what the marketing would like us to believe. Sending photos to Kodak or Shutterfly (or any online photo printer) is cheaper, of better quality, and of more archival quality than printing at home. It also offers more choices of print size and paper quality and so forth. It's just not quite as fast. Email the photos in and have them in a few days or a week at most.

2. Color inkjet printers do not work well long enough. They frustrate me as contributing too greatly to our throw away society. It is cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy ink, print heads and other needed repairs that come up after a year or two of use.



This Canon is great and it is unreal that it lists at such a low price for the quality and functions you get.

I bought this printer after I found that 1) fewer and fewer places carry toner for my Samsung SF-555P Multi-function printer and 2) I really need duplex printing. This Canon machine is one of the few, if not only, product out there right now with dupex *and* multifunction built into a single monochrome laser unit.



This is a brand new model as of Novermber 2006. I had bought and returned a HP Laserjet 3055 multi-function unit, after I found that it does not have duplex built-in. I almost bought a dupex laser printer from brother, HL-5250DN, for about the same amount of money (~$200).



This Canon unit has energy saver feature so it is very quiet when not in use. I liked the printer driver. It is easy to use and uses the same type of user interface as the one found in my Canon i860 ink printer. And, yes, it has duplex printing!!!!



Since I have only had the printer for a week, I have not used it extensively but evrything seems to work well. Its footprint is bigger than my old samsung unit but still relatively small, despite it has a cover and an automatic feeder for copying. I like how it does not have a built-in phone; I can always hook up a cheap phone if I wanted to. A built-in phone would make the unit less pleasing to the eye. It is a very pretty machine (boy, am I a geek). I like how I can now pull up the cover, set down a store receipt and copy with a push of a single button.



The only downside is that once the starter toner is all used up, a regular replacement toner is good for 2000 pages, as opposed to 3000 pages, which is what other manufacturers typically rate their replacement toners for. But I think even with a 3000 page toner, I replaced toners once every other year so this shouldn't be too big a deal.

The powertec bandsaw was well packed and arrived in perfect condition.

The instructions were easy to read,and after initial setup,worked extremely well

for a band saw of its size.It has all the features of larger more expensive saws,

at a reasonable price.Cuts 1" oak and hickory with ease.

I used mine to make all of the body wood in my 1930 Ford coupe.

I have done woodworking for 30+ years and would recommend the powertec BS900

I was really surprised about this bandsaw. For a unit so low-priced, it has lasted a whole lot longer than any of the other cheapie bandsaws. I have been cutting up to 1-1/2" thick hard woods like walnut and cherry but unlike the other 9' saws I bought from Amazon, this one is still working, still going strong, after over two months of hard work. This bandsaw is just amazing!



I have to say that I have kept with the blade that came with the bandsaw and not tried putting a blade on it with finer teeth for cutting sharper curves; that's where so many other bandsaws go bad-- after the blade has been changed, so I can't say that this bandsaw is perfect in every way. But even just using the original blade shows that this is a very good, a very sturdy bandsaw that is a great buy for the price.

First, this saw uses 62 1/4" blades and not the 59 1/4" ones Amazon offers as a package. The latter doesn't fit, period. The unit arrived in a box that spelled re-package, but inside all was fine. Set-up was straight forward and the saw was running in no time at all. Upon checking why it vibrated so much, I discovered that the upper aluminum wheel was out of run, which made the blade wiggle sideways and the tension adjustment go up and down; forget about tight specs, this is a cheap tool and we pay for what we get! Now, if you've done your research, you'll have realized by now that other retail outfits sell an identical tool under their names, and you couldn't have missed the horrid customer reviews addressing a particular plastic pulley that goes bad within minutes. Rest assured, this Powertec version has a metal pulley securely fastened to the motor shaft! Now, the blade guides are another cheap affair, consisting of adjustable solid pins mounted on a plastic frame that sandwich the blade. Because the wheel is out of true on this unit, the blade touches these pins when it does its left/right flutter, and I wonder how long before I have to replace them and how much this will reduce the life of the blades... The upper guide bearing behind the blade is positioned out of alignment and the blade easily shifts off to the left, missing the bearing altogether! Now, that's starting to look like a major problem, as there is no means to remedy the issue. Remember what you pay for. The tracking adjustment works fine, and even though the blade tension adjustment takes time to get used to, it all works like it should; again, do not expect precision out of this tool. Does the saw actually work? Well, for a first course I fed 7/8" cocobolo to it and it ate it without complaining, the whole 80 inches of it! I scrolled through it without any loss of power and the cuts were clean and smooth. After one hour of torture test, the saw came clean, and I even forgot about the out of run wheel. Needless to say, the motor felt rather hot after that, and time will only tell how fast it will burn out... Now, it I had paid more for the saw, I would have returned it and given it one star, but because of its price and the fact it cut very hard wood without nary a complaint, I give it a 4! - Hitachi - Powertec'

I purchased the Western Digital 1 Tb Sata 6.0 Gb-s 32 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare-oem Drive WD10EALX from Midwest Memory Outlet through Amazon. The drive was received within 3 or 4 days and was packaged extremely well. My original Seagate drive from my HP m9550F failed and was replace by the WD. The Seagate was the drive that HP kept shipping after a drive bios error was long known about. Information from the internet showed that lots of people lost valuable data because HP just kept shipping a drive with a known problem. Anyhow, I did get a bios update for the Seagate before it failed but it ended up failing anyhow.



The WD10EALX drive is fairly loud. I still have the drive located outside the case so that may contribute to the sound level. The noise seems to be from the head movement. The platter spin is silent. For the price this is one drive that is hard to beat and I am well pleased with it. My bios can't take advantage of the 6 Gb/s transfer rate but the drive is plenty fast just the same. I have loaded around 600 gig of data onto it. After around 3 weeks I'll assume it will not fail and put the case back together. If it fails I'll update this review. I noticed on NewEgg that a few failures were being reported. Not the long-term ones but the more likely out of the box ones. Here's keeping my fingers crossed. (Boot drive failures are a pain).



UPDATE:

OK. I put the case back together. The drive is not silent but it is pretty quiet. I can hear just faint clicks as it does its thing. Very nice. No problems with the drive at all. Recommended. Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Blue SATA III 7200 RPM 32 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive - WD10EALX

My use for these drives is to replace a couple of aging five year old 80GB drives in Windows XP and XP Media Center machines. Those drives are still running fine, however, for the price, I had absolutely no reason not to upgrade them at this time.



I came across this drive middle of last week and Amazon was selling it new for $29 - I was scratching my head thinking "what's the deal" and "what's wrong with these drives"? Sure, even though they were above $25, Amazon was still charging for the shipping - so I took two to bring the per drive shipping down slightly. The old 3Gb version of this drive was selling for over $40 - so again, scratching my head about this. Maybe it was a pricing mistake? Whatever - it was a great price.



The drives arrived yesterday, same standard OEM packaging all of my six other WD drives have come in over the past 9 months. I used Clonezilla to clone the old drives on to the new, it went smoothly without any issues. I'm storing the old drives just in case these new ones have any issues I won't have to rebuild the system drives from scratch.



I know that the motherboards in my machines cannot make use of the 6Gb throughput, however, these drives are definitely faster than what they're replacing - older WD drives which indicate they are 7200RPM and 3Gb. Specs on the older drives indicate performance shouldn't be all that different, but it is, and for the better. I won't question it.



The drive indicates you can jumper pins 5 and 6 to limit it to 3Gb, but I didn't understand the benefit of doing it, so I left it unjumpered and it's working well.



To summarize - these drives are fast, quiet, and so far are performing excellently. I'm very happy with them thus far.

This drive would be a nightmare for the inexperienced, hence 4 stars. No instructions or software included! Had to download drivers and install a floppy boot drive to complete installation. Otherwise, the drive is quiet and fast.

This is not the "black series" as stated by the comment above. This is the Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALX 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive.
