Dell Inspiron Adapter - laptop, dell latitude

I purchased this to replace a ~2yr old power adapter that I finally killed after using it as my sole adapter for the entire time. It's thin, light, and I love that it has the extension for if I need longer than a 6" adapter cord.

For what it's worth, I have a Latitude D430 not a more powerful system that needs more juice. I love this accessory travel pack. This is my 2nd time replacing my laptop's adapter and a friend recommended I look on Amazon. I am so happy I did, I was able to get the entire pack for less than half the price of an adapter alone at Dell retailers. I am so happy with this purchase. Thank you very much.

We use many Dell laptop computers where I work. Recently we had one of the power supplies go out. I looked on Amazon and ordered a replacement Dell PA-12 Slim Power Supply Travel Pack. This is an exact, manufacturers replacement power supply and accessories. We like the PA-12 because you can use it in the car and on the airplane, as well as with normal electrical outlet (US).

This power supply is the best thing Dell has come up with. For one, since it is 2-prong instead of grounded 3-prong, I can carry my three-port house-hold extension cord and I only need one outlet in the airport or meeting room and can power my laptop, cell phone, and Blackberry for those long meetings and layovers. The shorty cords and extended cords with the kit give you the ultimate flexibility. And the size is great. The standard Power Supply is a heavy brick, but this adds almost no weight to your computer bag. Kodak Digital Frames - digital picture frame, digital frames

I did tons of research before purchasing as I bought a total of 8 frames as Christmas presents. 3 of these and 4 of a larger one.

First the Pros...the quality is unsurpassed for the price! 800x600 is incredibly clear and the frame is sleek and slimline. It is also pretty simple to use, it can zoom, rotate and crop, even though I did have to reference the directions for how to save the changes to the pictures. I was very happy with these.

Now the cons...it supposedly has internal memory but I didn't find an easy way to utilize it (from what I saw you have to transfer the pics manually, one at a time into the internal memory from your external memory source! why bother?) I did order 2gb sd cards to use with them since they are pretty cheap and hold a lot of photos but unfortunately I didn't realize that the sd card would need a writer to put the pictures on it (so I ended up running to Walmart for an $8 reader/writer) I think the easiest way to use this frame is to plug in a flash drive, your computer won't need anything special to put pics on it, just try to find the smallest one possible as it will stick out the side if its too big!

In the end the quality over triumps all the little issues I've had and everyone was so happy to get them at Christmas, of course it helps when you do a little leg work and gather pics from friends and family to preload. I got sereval tears this year, its going to be hard to out do these next year! Aluratek ADPF08SF 8-Inch Digital Photo Frame (800x600 Hi Resolution)

This is a very basic digital photo frame that has a beautiful picture quality. I was amazed how crisp and clear my photo's looked as I had another frame that did not look so good playing the same pictures. Once you power the frame on and insert your SD card the slideshow will start automatically. I like how easy to use it is as I am giving to my mother in law who is not very tech savy. I believe for the money you are getting a great value in your purchase. Highly recommend.

the Adapter is of 100-240 So for those who want to gift it outside US , this is going to work .

I tried it one full day and neither the adapter nor the frame getting very warm.

the only draw back which others might ignore is

When it stats up it lands in a page asking what you want to do? go to setup or show calendar or show photos.

Well i will be happy if it directly shows the calendar or the photos (if memory is attached) rather asking it .

When there is a power failure it stucks in the main page

This is a very basic photo frame. I knew this when purchasing, although I didn't realize quite how basic. The good things about this unit are its low price and superb picture quality. I really don't think I could be more pleased with the picture quality. On the other hand, you will need an SD card or USB drive for this thing as the internal memory is next to nothing. I got two pictures on it before it said it was full. I'm guessing it has about 256k. Also, if you plan on using this for portrait photos, you will need to rotate them 90 degrees on your computer before saving them on your SD card or USB drive as it shows all pictures in landscape mode, no matter which orientation you place the frame in. I looked for a "portrait" mode that would make this step unnecessary but couldn't find one. So, it's basic, but you should expect that for a $40 item.

The visual quality is pretty good. I found the instruction manual skimpy and poorly written. I managed to figure out the controls but mostly intuitively. I tried to go to Aluratek's web site to get more information and could not find this particular model. They have apparently discontinued it and replaced with a newer model. The newer model comes with a remote control and USB cable which this one didnt'. So, get the newer model; it's was only $10 more.

why buy more expensive picture frame with build in memory when u can just add a 4gb sd card for 10 bucks.

I was looking for a replacement for an old digital frame. This is larger, pics are sharper & it has a timer function that shuts it off every afternoon, reminding me to go home!

I don't use any other functions so can't add anything there, does everything I need & does it well.

Received this nifty little frame for a x-mas present and was pleasantly suprised on how awesome the picture quality is. Cd Cases - jewel cases, disc jewel cases

These cases are an outstanding buy for the price. You may find better ones, but you'll pay much more for them. These are vastly superior to the flimsy, fragile Memorex product of the same price range. These will do for most moderately handled media. TDK Systems JC SLIM LINE 50PK - Clear (MCJB-W50TG)

Lost cases, or copies. You can get spindles of CD/DVDrs, but how do you keep track after?

These are nice quality for the money and take up minimal space compared to full-width. I haven't solved the problem yet of how to know which is which edge-on. I have to pull them out and look. There ought to be stubby labels that you could put on to flag them top, middle and bottom with enough width to write on. The tradeoff of being able to store more discs in the same space is, that lack of identifiability.

If you are looking to buy this product, chances are because of its relatively cheap pricing and that its a space-saver with its thin case. It gets the job done and the price is great but beware that because of this, it makes for a fragile case and the cover gets scratched pretty easily! You have been warned.

Very good pack of nice slim cd cases - all black with clear tops. In my pack about 5 were broken (small black tabs on ends). Not well packed, so I don't' think it's TDK's fault, but rather amazon's packing.

I thought a dvd case is a dvd case but the plastic on this product is so thin and brittle that the little tags that hold the front and back together break off on half of the cases. Next time I'll spend the extra money and hopefully have better luck.

Just to be "clear", this product has an opaque black back half, and a clear hinged top which has the 4 tabs to hold a label insert. It IS the thin, single disk storage/distribution case at a decent price, and I got the super saver free shipping.

As Jewel cases don't really need to do much more than hold your CDs and DVDs, if it works, it works. You would have to TRY to make them unusable and therefore bad. In that respect, these do the job. You gotta love the space they eliminate. I wish regular disc cases were this thin.

I have found that the TDK CD cases are a little better quality than the others. This can, and often does change so keep that in mind. These have a black back and are not clear on both sides like some of the others. Not much else to say. I've been using TDK products for about ten years now and I've always been happy with the quality.

Laptop Battery - laptop battery, apple

Just received, unpacked and inserted the new battery for my 2007 Macbook Pro 15. Here are some initial thoughts - I will follow up later with actual performance after I've had a few months with the new battery.

Let me start by saying that I have had TWO batteries replaced by Apple under warranty - I never got more than about 200 cycles before they wouldn't run the MBP for more than maybe an hour. I really didn't want to spend $120 for another battery that would last 6 months and then need another replacement, and at this point Apple probably isn't going to replace my batteries for free anymore....

So, I scoured the various options for aftermarket batteries and settled on this one for a couple of reasons - first, many of the others were just "too cheap" to be any good. At $85 this one seemed to be expensive enough to represent good quality, but still a significant savings from the genuine Apple product.

On unboxing the battery, I was immediately impressed with the look and general finish of the battery. It looks identical to the Apple battery, down to almost every detail. The MFG of this unit definitely spent a lot of time copying the style of the original. In the box is a note saying "You don't need to charge the battery before you use it!" so I went ahead and shut down the MBP, inserted the battery, and then fired her back up. On inserting the battery, I was again impressed at how similar the replacement looked to the original, even down to the ease with which it clicked into place in the battery slot. Its not PERFECT, however. On the leading edge (the one with the two slide-locks) the top edge of the battery protrudes about 1 mm (or perhaps slightly less) from the back plane of the MBP. The rear edge of the battery (where it is held in by two plastic pins) is completely flush with the back plane of the MBP. Pushing on the leading edge of the battery while it is installed, you can notice a tiny bit of play, where it is able to move around a bit; I suspect that it is just that the catches on the slide-locks don't engage at precisely the right spot (or that the square openings for the slide locks are ever-so-slightly too big). At any rate, the movement is not enough to cause an interruption in power to the MBP, and the battery is totally secure in its place. Since I expected it to fit poorly, I was actually impressed with the fit - its not perfect, but definitely something that will work just fine. If you slide your hand along the bottom of the MBP, you can feel the ridge of the battery sticking up, but as many others mention, its something you have to just be willing to live with in exchange for saving $40 on the battery...

Initial performance looks promising, and showed no unexpected behavior. I started up on the battery and the system profiler showed the battery to be in "Good" condition with two cycles and about 5400 Mah of capacity (close to the original, which I think runs around 5,600). The status bar indicator showed about 1:20 in remaining time and indicated that the battery was 50% charged when I pulled down the menu. When I plugged in the charger, it took a moment to recalculate and then the profiler correctly upddated the status to "charging" and the status bar updated to show 0:52 minutes of remaining charge time. AS I've written this, the indicator is now at 0:41 of remaining charge time and 60% of battery life.

Incidentally, the silver button and green LEDs appear to function normally when pressed, whether the battery is installed or not. For example, trying it now, I get 3 solid and 1 blinking LED out of 5, which would indicate somewhere between 60% and 80% (if you assume that each LED represents an increment of 20% of life remaining)

If the fit was perfect, I'd say this would be deserving of 5 stars, but I knocked off one star simply because the fit is not flush to the back plane of the MBP.

So far, the battery seems to hold a charge just fine. Though, it is often difficult to tell battery quality until at least a few months of rigorous use.

The color is only slightly off from the original. Which is what I expected, given that these 3rd party products never look 100% authentic.

My only real complaint is the mechanical fit of the battery. The size is slightly smaller leaving a gap between the battery and computer body. But the real tragedy is that the holes that secure the battery in place are different shape than the Apple original part. This causes the battery to move when touched or when the laptop is lifted, because the battery is not secure or snugly in place. Once my computer crashed when I lifted it abruptly, perhaps due to loose battery connections. The battery will rise away from the laptop body when pressure is applied and released, as though it were spring loaded. The Apple battery did not do this. It is also visually an eyesore showing an uneven fit, not horrible but definitely noticeable. Thankfully no one really looks at the bottom of the computer. Though I can imagine someone snagging the sharp corner of the battery on fabric if the computer used on their lap or on a table cloth, since the battery fits into the bottom of the computer and will hang down so as not to be flush with the bottom. Also, my battery seems to be a bit warped where one side raises up more than the other. This problem could be prevented by making the cavity where the retractable prongs fit more like that of the Apple battery. The Apple battery has a noticeable pitch in the cavity opening that will allow the computer's retractable prongs to enter at a slight angle applying upward pressure that will hold the battery secure and flush with the body of the computer. It is obvious when looking at the shape of the latch cavity on the "PRO SERIES Equivalent Laptop Battery" that the battery will not be able to fit as snugly. The holes are simply too big and not the same shape as those on the original Apple part. I have seen similar complaints about other 3rd party batteries for this computer that were reviewed by others. Why is it so hard to get this right? Does Apple have a patent on the shape so that no 3rd party is allowed to replicate it? Perhaps it is too hard to manufacture, cheaply, because of the angle of the groove?

I heard of so many 3rd party batteries not lasting 6 months that I was initially discouraged from trying any knock-off. However the 3 Year Warranty on this model made me give this one a chance. I will update this review if it gives me any trouble.

The bottom line is that this battery is not a perfect mechanical replacement for the Apple original, but for the price difference it might be worth the cost. - Laptop Battery - Macbook - Apple - Laptop Batteries'

Optical Cable - amazonbasics, optical cable

If it doesn't snap you probably forgot to take the little rubber protectors off the end of the cable... like I did for about a minute. Once removed it snaps in perfectly.

The cable is high quality, long, and very flexible and has nicely constructed connectors. And it is about 1/4 the cost of radio sxxxx and bsst buy, both being rip-off artists on items like cables.

Its things like this that will make me a prime return customer. Who can't wait 2 days to save big bucks?? AmazonBasics Toslink Digital Audio Optical Cable (6 Feet/1.8 Meters)

My goal in life is to never buy overpriced cables. I figure that it is a cable and how could it break. After all it just sits there collecting dust. It's a digital signal going through glass/plastic fiber, there will be no difference compared to the $450 dollar AudioQuest class 5 optical cable - TosLink plugs 1m (3.28'). If you bought this $450 cable, I cry for you.

The cable is your basic black color and it looks as nice as a cable can look. The cable is flexible and bendy just like a cable should be. It is long. The connection fits snugly from my Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) to my ancient Philips DirecTV DVR With 40GB TIVO.

It comes in a nice cardboard box that is so simple to open. You can then toss the packaging into your recycle bin for recycling.

1. Open the box.

2. Remove the cable

3. Remove the twistie tie (counter-clockwise rotation is critical for success)

4. REMOVE THE PLASTIC NIBS covering the connectors

5. Plug one end into your TV optical port and the other end into the electronic device of your choice

6. Enjoy the show

These AmazonBasics cables are the cat's ass. I wish they came in shorter lengths (cable neat freak), but the price can't be beat. You won't be disappointed.

A really well made cable. If you are new to this Toslink cabling you may not notice that AmazonBasics Toslink cables come with a near transparent protective silicon cover over the tiny optical connector. Look closely as they are there, and obviously removing this BEFORE installing the cable will be the difference between a trouble free installation and ten minutes of fiddling with connections and scratching your head trying to figure out why your optical connection is not operating.

I had ordered two of these cables to hook up from my computer chassis to my Denon AV Receiver and another for the connection from the Denon AV Receiver to the TV. Being the first time that I had ever used Toslink Digital Audio cables I thought that you just plug them into the outlet and it would work automatically.

I didnt know that the cables contained a clear plastic cap to protect the tip of the cable on each end so the cable kept popping out of the slot when I tried to plug it in with the protective plastic cap on it. I was going crazy so I went online to read reviews on other optical cables, watch installation videos on youtube, and forums to see if other users have been having the same issues but none of the videos tell you to remove the clear plastic protective cap so I thought that the cap was part of the cable. Luckily some other amazon members read my review and told me to remove the clear plastic cap, the cables have been working fine ever since. Amazon has an awesome community, thanks for the help guys.

I would highly recommend this cable to anyone who needs a toslink digital audio cable.

Since I upgraded to a new tv and surround sound I wanted the best connections.

This product works. It works the same as my expensive big name Optical cable that cost 10 times more. I cannot hear a difference. I imagine 99 percent of the population won't either. So save your money.

I too thought the cable was too loose, but when I re-read the comments, I re-checked the cable ends, and sure enough, there is a little, soft plastic cap on the male pin at each end of the cable. Carefully remove the cap by softly pulling with your fingernails, and Bingo! the cap comes off, the cable snaps in just as it should! PLEASE, all of you who have had looseness probs with this cable, check the ends carefully...the cap is hard to notice, but it blurs the light(strangely enough the cable still worked fine, even with the caps on), if you feel the little soft cap, you've found the problem; just gently pull it off, put the cap in your recycle bin, plug your now functioning cable into the devices and enjoy! It was only after I re-read the comments/reviews that I closely checked my cable, and sure enough, Amazon's quality prevailed and I was wrong wrong wrong! Def recommend this product. Multifunction Devices - all-in-one, epson artisan

I just bought the Epson Artisan 800, which I will review shortly. I have not made up my mind as to whether I will keep it or not. I have gone with Epson for years and the quality of inks is unsurpassed in the industry. I usually print 8x10 prints. In testing the printer there were several software glitches that made it print more prints than I told it to.

The ink works stellar on Costco premium photo paper that I personally like more than Epson. It is cheaper and dries faster and looks as good. This ink produces professional quality prints. Epson has done it again.

Nonetheless,it is immaterial what these lab test claim. What matters is what happens in real life. I am not going to make a print that is draft quality which is what alot of these tests do. I am making fine art photos.

Here is the glitch...I printed 5 8x10's and 3 4x6 with margins. My light cyan is 2/3rd's gone. The high capacity black is 1/3 gone and light magenta is 1/2 gone. That is roughly $15 Epson prices or a little under $3/ print. Costco for an 8x10 is $1.79 and 11 1/2x 14 is $2.79 The Epson eats ink like candy. I suspect that the prices for prints are much cheaper commercially.Obviously custom prints are going to be higher. So it comes down to convience and creative control. When the cost is almost 2x what a commercial lab charges, it may not be worth it.

Price: Amazon beats Epson by $3 on the 5 pack and if you have super saver then it is money in your pocket. Epson beats Amazon by $4 on the black and if you buy 3 or more inks there is free overnight shipping. Interestingly the high capacity black which they sell the most of is $2 more than the other colors.....go figure.

Caveat emptor- Epson was found to have made the electronics on it's printer cartriges reflect empty cartridges when they were not empty so buyers would have to buy more ink cartriges. We all know Epson makes money selling ink. Printers do not make big bucks, ink does.I received a bunch of coupons that supposedly I could enter the numbers into their website and get free ink. The number never worked, ergo no free ink.

So that is the ink story. I think I am going to check out the Canon all in ones before I decide to keep this Epson. The last I saw Canon had come way up in quality and the inks are cheaper. Epson 99 Color Multipack with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta Ink Cartridges for the Epson Artisan 700 and Artisan 800 Printers

This Epson 99 Color Multipack is quite a bargain, when you need replacement ink cartridges for your Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. This multipack includes all 5 standard capacity color cartridges (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta), but does NOT include a black cartridge. Purchasing the multipack will usually save you anywhere from $5 to $10, over buying the cartridges individually, depending on where you buy it from. If you need a replacement black cartridge, you will need to order the #98 Black separately.

All of the cartridges in this multipack are the Epson #99 standard capacity type, which are claimed to yield approximately 500 pages each, based on the ISO/IEC 24711 and 24712 standard for ink jet products. Of course the page count will vary, depending on the amount of ink coverage of each particular color you use on each given page. In comparison, the #98 high capacity color ink cartridges are claimed to yield approx. 855 pages per color, based on the same ISO test standards. Black is only available in #98 high capacity, which is rated at about 545 pages (it is assumed that more black ink is used per page than color ink). This Epson 99 Color Multipack, as well as the #98 black cartridges are available at most online and local retailers. But as of this review date, the #98 high capacity color cartridges are only available for purchase directly from the Epson website.

The Claria ink in these cartridges is boasted to produce photos with unsurpassed richness, depth and clarity, and is also smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant. Epson claims that this ink, when used in combination with Epson Premium Photo Paper, produces better quality photos than you can get from a photo lab. As for my personal experience, I have found this ink to indeed produce very rich and vivid color photos, which look at least as good as I can get from a local photo lab. What amazes me is how quickly this ink dries, when used on Epson Premium photo paper. After the photos print, at the highest print quality settings on my Artisan 800, I can touch the printed side of the paper within 15 to 20 seconds without smudging. Within 2 to 3 minutes the ink has dried enough for normal handling. In comparison, when I print at highest quality settings on my HP OfficeJet 7310, using HP Premium Plus photo paper and HP Vivera ink, I have to wait at least 15 to 20 minutes before I can even touch the printed side of the photos, and a couple of hours before the photos can be handled without extra caution. I have also tested the water resistant claims of the Epson Claria ink, and do find that it is resistant to slight amounts of moisture. Please note the words "resistant" and "slight" in that last sentence. If a small drop of water comes in contact with the printed Claria ink, and is allowed to dry without touching or smearing it, the photo will show little to no signs of discoloration or damage to the image. However, if any part of the image becomes saturated with water, or if the drop(s) of water are smeared in any way, you can definitely see signs of discoloration and/or color smudging/smearing. When I tested my HP Vivera ink in the same manner, even the slightest amount of moisture introduced to the prints would cause obvious damage to the images. Therefore I can personally back the claim that the Epson Claria ink, as used in the #99 cartridges, is modestly water resistant. The claim of scratch resistance is also true, unless a very sharp or pointed object is dragged across the print. So for normal everyday handling, this Claria ink seems to stand up to a moderate amount of abuse without the photo being ruined. I do not have the means to test the fade resistance claims, so I guess I have to take Epson at its word in this area.

Another thing I would like to point out, regarding my previous experience with Epson Claria inks, is that it does not tend to dry up and clog the print heads nearly as easily as I have experienced with the HP Vivera ink. I have an Epson Stylus Photo R380 Inkjet Printer, which uses Claria ink cartridges, and I can let the printer sit, unused, for several weeks, and still get perfect printing results without having the run a cleaning cycle on the printer. This makes me believe that the Claria ink cartridges will remain good, when left in the printer for extended periods of time. It also shows that Epson has designed a good method of sealing the print heads very well when in the parked position.

I am extremely impressed with the #99 Claria ink cartridges, and find this Epson 99 Color Multipack to be a great bargain. At the time of this review, this multipack provides all 5 main color cartridges for less than $10 each, here on Amazon.com. To me this is a very good price for such high quality ink. I highly recommend this multipack to anyone who owns or is purchasing an Epson Artisan 700 or 800 model printer. The Artisan series printers are great products (see my review of the Epson Artisan 800 Wireless Photo All-in-One Printer), and this Claria ink, when used with Epson Premium photo paper, is the perfect companion for these amazing printers. - Epson Artisan - Epson - All-in-one - Printer Ink'

There was no jamming or binding of the clippers - it glided through my hair with no problems (although I do have fairly thin hair, hence I cut it very short). I only used the trimmer and not any of the attachments - I cut my hair very short using the blade only and no length guide - so I can't comment on those. However, I must agree with other posters that the case could use some work - all of the pieces pretty much fly around loose in the case and there really isn't a good way to store everthing. Wahl should have designed the case differently, so that there would be a place to put each accessory (kind of like how a CD binder works). Again, this doesn't affect me much since I don't use the attachments. I highly recommend these clippers and would recommend to a friend in the market for doing their own trimming at home.

July 2008 Update: Still using these clippers every week to keep the close cropped look and they work great. Just brush them off and oil the blades with the included brush and oil after each use and put them back in the drawer. I'm able to get the whole head in about 5-10 minutes. I just clip in the shower stall before I shower, scoop up the cut hair and wash the rest down the drain. And the included mini-clipper is great for getting a very close cut on the back of the neck and sideburns. It isn't meant for much more than that, but does a great job - I use it about 1-2x a month and haven't had to change the battery yet (8 months later).

I began cutting my hair about a year ago and was using my old oster from costco that was maybe 5-7 years old. I had a lot of broken guards and the blades were starting to make a lot of noise. I did some research and found these to be a decent set for the price. It has so many guards and the clipper itself cuts really solidly. I like the extra trimmer to cut the sideburns. I cut my hair every 2 or 3 weeks now and have no worries that it isnt cutting evenly. If it does cut unevenly its my fault! Overall im very satisfied and would buy it again. Amazon was even cheaper than walmart for me when i check the prices. Go do some shopping.

I have been through three of the 'rechargeable' trimmer/clippers over the last few years. They work well in the beginning, but the power, which leaves you wanting to begin with, fades over time with cycling of the battery and eventually they die. As expensive as the good ones are ($40-$90), it is cost prohibitive to repair them, so they get chucked into the trash and a new one is purchased. I was tired of throwing my money away and for years I have admired the heavy duty looking trimmers I have always (and I mean forever) seen used by hair professionals. They look like they are indestructible. I also equated the quality with cost and assumed that as a tool of a trade they would demand a steep fee to acquire one.

Well whaddaya know? The Wahl is a very similar version and it is half the price of the rechargeables... it works better, smoother and with less effort.... comes with a veritable toolchest of attachments including some combs, a scissors and would you believe it even has a bib wrap to cover the shoulders of a client! Heavy? yup... and it feels like it will last forever. Vibration? Absolutely, just like the ones my barber uses.

Want something that will do the job... every time? This item is a winner!

(This first paragraph was added on 12-30-2008) As an opening note - the clippers are actually made right here in the USA and not China. Sure there are a few Chinese parts in the kit but by and large it's American! I could change the title to, "Great Wahl of Sterling, Illinois" but that doesn't exactly roll off of the tongue - y'know? Now on to the original review in its entirety and totally commercial free:

For the past several months I have been contemplating taking matters into my own hands and just shaving my noggin at home and saving a trip to the barber/salon/blood letter. After consulting with friends and colleagues and with my own experience with the brand I settled on a Wahl trimmer. Once my decision was made I guided myself to Amazon to start the search. After looking at the different kits and options I settled on the Deluxe Chrome kit with 27 pieces. I don't know about you but when I see the words 'Deluxe' and 'Chrome' in the same sentence you have my undivided attention.

I ordered-up the kit and thanks to some technical wizardry and a dash of PRIME the clippers arrived in 2-days. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the box to find a nice black zippered case complete with the clippers, the smaller clippers (for neckline, sideburns, etc.), a plethora of guards ranging from the cue-ball to 1" in length, over-the-ear trimmer guides (left and right), an eyebrow guide as well as combs, scissors, a hand-held mirror, a drape and clip, clipper blade oil and a brush for keeping the unit clean and in tip-top shape.

So I decided on an appropriate guard and clipped it onto the clippers. There is a good snug fit which is met with an audible 'click' assuring you that the clipper guard is properly set. I then stretched out the amply long cord (maybe 6 feet long??) and plugged in the clippers. I clicked on the unit fully expecting something quite loud. Happily I was wrong. These clippers are extremely quiet and very stable and steady in your hands.

Now the real fun. I started buzzing into my hair like a crazed minnow farmer (?) watching my trimmed locks falling into the tub.

NOTE: I did this while seated in our large garden tub... there was NO WATER in the tub but I thought this would be a good place for a haircut as the clean-up would be a snap.

So I worked the clippers through my hair going from back to front; front to back; then side to side until the desired effect was achieved. My Bride and our two angelic cherubs soon made an appearance to see just what Daddy was doing. Happily my wife totally approved of the look, the cut and the cleanliness of the finished product. My Bride took the smaller clippers, plopped-in an AA battery and did a bang-up job cleaning up my neck area as well as around my ears.

Clean-up was a snap. I just took off the guard, used the included brush and cleaned off all of the trimmer heads. After cleaning-up I packed everything away in the black case and was readying myself to hop out of the tub. My Bride had brought in our Dyson (sidebar: if you've never used a Dyson vacuum you are missing out on one of the finer pleasures on earth) which made quick work of sucking up my hair out of the tub. Our girls enjoyed watching Daddy's hair swirling in the clear Dyson canister. They are easily amused.

Bottom line - the Wahl trimmer/clipper is a great tool, quiet and efficient and priced better than I could find locally.

Oh - and by the time I cut my hair with this twice - it's paid for!

and it's been nothing but a great experience. If I were to hazard a guess I have used them 9 or 10 times so they are WELL paid for. The unit operates as it did fresh out of the box, the cut is still great and nothing has been pitched aside or thrown away... except for my cut off hair, of course. I've not used all of the guards but have settled on a few 'go to guards' that made the cut with me (pun).

All in all I still stand by my original assessment of the clippers and would buy them again knowing what I now know. Great item. Great investment. Great ROI (Return On Investment). - Haircut - Wahl - Hair Clipper - Clippers'
