Black  decker - black  decker, versa pak

I have a most of the VersaPak tools sold to date and really do like their ease of use. We have the circular saw, 2 reciprocating saws, 5 flashlights, 2 drills, 1 stick screwdriver, 1 scumbuster that I can think of right now. THESE ARE ALL GREAT TOOLS!They do have one BIG SHARED PROBLEM. Battery life (or lack of it).I currently have 10 DEAD VersaPak silver batteries in my kitchen drawer and NONE are over 24 months old. The standard silver battery will hold a useful charge for about 30 days on the shelf. NONE of my silver batteries have lasted more than 14 months and a few of them died within 8 months. I do NOT put them through a charge/discharge cycle even once a day - so they are NOT lasting the '300 cycles' that B&D claims.I just purchased 2 GOLD VersaPak batteries in May 2002 and they REALLY DO LAST LONGER while working. I hope they last longer than 12 months though. I certainly HOPE that B&D will FIX this battery problem. I like the tools, but I may need to switch to another vendor's products if this battery issue is not resolved soon. Black & Decker VP135 VersaPak 3.6-Volt 2-Port 3 Hour Stick Style Battery Charger with 2 VP100 Batteries

I'd have to agree with other reviewers that these batteries HAVE MEMORY and last nowhere near as long as Black and Decker would like you to believe. I have probably 20 of these batteries and always charge them correctly, rotate them, keep them in matched sets, and they just die after a couple of years. In many cases, it's cheaper to buy VersaPak tools (with batteries) and throw away the tools. Luckily, the tools don't last either ;) You really have to view the VersaPak line as disposables.

I have the entire works of BD cordless power tools including the flashlight, scum buster, vacuum, cordless drill, recip saw etc., but no batteries. I had the ones that came with the tools plus some extras I purchased seperately. After a year of use, none will take a charge. What a waste, it is a great idea, but I guess the technology is not there year. ...

great idea - lots of different tools all use same rechargeable batteries. BUT these batteries die in <1 year. I have a whole set of tools that use these, but now my choice is: spend $60/yr on batteries, or get a new set of tools that will last longer! Pretty easy decision at this point... considering I already have a great Craftsman drill and there are other tools that use the same batteries.

BE WARNED - if you buy these you will be buying them forever.

Although the VP125 readily fulfills my occasional household needs, I purchased it to replace one which shorted out after way too little use. My experience with Black & Decker products has been that they are built for planned obsolescence. They are not quality products and they do not last. If they were priced lower they may be a better bargin. I avoid Black & Decker products when making new purchases.

Hello, I got 1 VersaPak stick screwdriver w/ 1 battery and 1 Recharge set w/ 2 batteries on Christmas presents 3 years ago. I used up all 3 battieres rotation on 1 Screwdriver for 3 years then all of them are dead which mean I used 1 dead battery per year. Is it make sense? Thank you for this attention.

I have the silver batteries. They are for the scum buster and their battery operated blender. The products are very good but the the batteries dont workvery well. They give good service at first but after about 8 months or so they just die. I would not use Black and Decker until they change the batteries to something that will actually give 300 charges. These batteries are not cheap and you have no where else to go but from B&D. Maybe the new gold ones will work better. Forget the silver ones.

B&D's claims for the batteries are just not true. I have had the same problems with very short battery life and intermittent charger described in other reviews. I have gone through several sets of gold batteries (don't even try the cheaper ones!).

And now, to make matters worse, you can't buy replacements locally anymore (they have been replaced by other tools with different batteries) and have to scour the internet trying to keep my tools working.

I will be replacing my tools very soon, I'm sure. The only reason I give 2 stars instead of one is that the tools do work pretty well when you can get a new battery in them. - Cordless Tool - Black  decker - Versa Pak - Chargers'

Tight Active Pants

I've been in training for a half-marathon for nine months now, and several months ago I began investing in compression tights. This was my first ever pair, and I have been suitably impressed with them. They certainly do "keep you together" when running, and make longer runs (i.e. more than 10km) easier on the quads and hips. They are quite small though - I'm a US size 4 (175cm, 57kg) and expected the XS to fit around the waist and leg, however after checking the size guide I purchased the small and it was the right fit: buy a size up from usual, as they do run small. I'm happy with Sugoi and have purchased a number of their other compression tights since. You won't be disappointed. Sugoi Women's Piston 200 Tight, Black, Medium'

Screen Protector - clear, screen protector

I wanted to make sure I didn't mess up my iPod cuz I'm not a fan of paying alot of money for something and then it gets messed up. So I ordered these and am very happy with the product. It went on smooth and there aren't any bubbles at all. I'm writing this review from the iPod and I'm not having any trouble at all! It's smooth and perfect. This is a great screen protector; and I recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their iPod screen. splash 3-Pack of Masque Screen Protector for iPod touch 4G (Clear)

I ordered my Splash Screen Protector on October 31st from BlueHarborOnline and I received it on November 4th; fast shipping and the screen protector showed up in a normal envelope.

As stated, the product comes with 3 screen protectors, a cleaning swab, cardboard application card, & instructions. Its application is truly simple. You have protective plastic on both sides of the screen protector with tabs to remove the protective plastic.

Clean the iPod screen thoroughly and start the application process in a room with a low possibility of floating lint in the air such as a bathroom. When you're satisfied with the screen, take the included swab and cover the screen to prevent any floating lint from attaching while you are removing the first tab on the protector.

As soon as you remove the first tab, take the swab off the iPod and apply the protector at an angle, not all at once. Do not wait once you remove the first tab or floating lint may attach to the adhesive that you just exposed. When applying at an angle, if an undiscovered piece of lint shows up on the screen you can quickly remove the protector, swab it off and continue. The protector will create a bubble around any piece of lint so be careful. The cutout of the front-facing camera is overcut so if you line up the home button, the camera will definitely line up as well. You also have a little overcut on the home button so it doesn't have to perfect.

Once all sides of the protector are on the screen then it difficult, but not impossible, to remove it should you need to redo the application with an second screen protector. There is no residue left on the screen if you have to try again. Push all the air bubbles out with the cardboard while the second layer of protective plastic is still on. Don't worry if you see scratches on the protector, those are on the out most layer of protective plastic. If you have applied the protector with a lint bubble, then you will have to pry off the protector and start again with a new one. Air bubbles will come out easily however. Once all air bubbles are gone and you are satisfied, pull on the second tab to remove the second layer of protective plastic. It will appear that the screen protector was never really applied. The only way you'd be able to tell is by looking at the overcut of the front-facing camera.

It personally took me 3 tries to get this right. This was, however, my first time applying a screen protector and I suggest you follow the preceding instructions with detail.

Overall, I'd recommend this screen protector to anyone because its so easy to apply and relatively cheap for its quality and a pack of three.

I was amazed at this product.

As soon as you finish applying it, it DISAPPEARS. like a ninja.

You can't tell it's there!

To those people who rated this 2 or 3 stars, disregard them.

Applying this is SIMPLE.

They send you three. You'll only need one.

The key is to peel off only the top, and apply that firmly before proceeding to apply the rest.

You cant peel it all off and then apply it. That'll be harder.

The holes are a bit bigger than the camera or the home button, respectively.

And aligning them perfectly will be an arduous task, but fear not, it's still simple and still looks good.

This is a really good product for the price.

My only complaint was that the cleaning cloth attracted more dust than get rid of it.

Luckily I was able to remove all the dust and create ZERO bubbles.

I'm more than satisfied. I recommend.

This is one of the better screen protector products I've seen. The application is VERY simple. The protective covering that applies to the screen comes between two stiff plastic applicators. You peel off #1 and then apply the protector to the Touch. This stiff plastic allows the actual product to remain true to its form and not curl up, fall over on itself or bend. You can hold it by the edge and therefore eliminate fingerprints on the sticky side. After you get it lined up, it falls nicely in to place without massive bubbles. You then peel off #2 and you're done.

It comes with a cloth so that you can clean the screen before application. This is the most important step, because even one little speck of dust or dirt will get trapped. You get 3 screen protectors per package so if this happens, you have backups.

I highly recommend this product.

this splash Masque protector is [excellent].

i bought a ZAGG Invisible Shield for $25bucks, it came after over a week...and it was total crap. The material is like a rubber and takes away the signature smoothness of the ipod Touch screen.

for that 25bucks i was given only [one] protector, and the first time you attempt to apply the product you are guaranteed to mess up, it took so long to get it fitted on, i don't care, i'm your average consumer, Zagg Invisible Shield sucks total crap.

i bought this splash Masque protector instead after trying the 'widely recommended' Zagg Invisible shield..it's less than half the price, AND you get an [entire pack] of 3 protectors, so you have safety for error in application whatsoever.

and the kicker, the application procedure. it took less than 5 minutes to apply, i got it absolutely [perfect] on the very first try, hell i'll give away my other 2 remaining protectors lol.

and it's much smoother to the finger than the "military grade" Zagg piece of crap.

don't fall for the marketing crap, splash Masque is perfect in every way.

1 single con i will list:

this splash Masque pack of 3 protectors only comes for the front screen, nothing for the back, so you might want one of those additional cases that protect your mirror finish on the back =)

as said above, i come from a Zagg route, so i had a back piece already in place (the zagg product comes for both front and back panels) and i'm keeping the zagg back piece for now until i get another replacement of sorts.

splash Masque is excellent. it's my first time owning an ipod touch, first time trying out screen protectors, this was absolutely the best choice, can't beat what you get for the price. - Screen Protector - Ipod Touch 4g - Accessories - Clear'

4396508 - 4396508, fridge filter

We purchased this filter (AquaFresh WF285) from another online retailer as a less expensive alternative to our Whirlpool brand filter. Bad choice.

Immediately after installing it we noticed it was producing lots of very tiny black particles of debris in the water, even though we had run the recommended 2 quarts of water through it. Long story short, over 30 minutes and 20 quarts of water later, the water was still filled with these very small carbon pieces, almost like black dust.

We removed it and put our Whirlpool brand filter back in, and within 4 quarts the debris started to go away, and after 6 quarts the water was running clean again.

So, we assumed that we must have simply received a defective filter. Not so.

We contacted the online retailer and they sent us a new one in exchange, and the new one gave us the same exact results. We ran gallon after gallon of water through it (thoroughly rinsing the jug between fills to make sure we weren't seeing lingering remnant debris), and still the second replacement WF285 kept producing water filled with black carbon dust.

However, you do need a keen eye to notice it so I'm guessing that's why we haven't found other negative reviews of the product yet. We believe it's likely that most people simply don't notice the carbon dust after a few quarts because it's so fine, and I'm willing to bet that a lot of people are drinking some carbon-dusty water right now because they've never taken a close look at their water after using this.

If you have this product, fill a white (or very light) colored bowl or juice jug with it and let it sit for a few seconds and watch it under good lighting. You will notice that as the water settles the carbon dust begins to rise to the top and swirl together, making it more visible for people with poor eyesight.

We've switched back to the actual Whirlpool brand and our fridge water is perfectly clean again. Too bad, we were really hoping to save some money because the Whirlpool filters are so much more expensive, but it's totally not worth drinking nasty water from poorly made filters to save a lousy 10 bucks. This experience has us back to buying filters direct from Whirlpool now at a premium. Major bummer. AquaFresh Replacement Filter for Whirlpool 4396508

I bought this filter because it was the cheapest of the whole bunch. It really is true.....you get what you pay for. This filter doesn't help with the taste and odor of my water. I just purchased another filter from ABT that is the original filter for my refrigerator for $10 more and no shipping costs. DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER!

I have purchased 3 of these filters for my fridge. The first time I purchased 2 at one time so I could have a backup. 1 day after installing the first one, the plastic part of the filter broke and water QUICKLY started leaking from the filter onto the floor. I figured it was just a 1 in a million thing and put the other filter in. It worked fine for the 3 months until my little light told me it was time to order a new one. I ordered one and replaced the filter. One week later, pop, the plastic seal broke yet again and water again was all over my floor. I was very, very lucky to be at home and in the kitchen BOTH times they broke, otherwise I would have come home to a flooded house as the water comes out at full force. I would recommend spending the extra money for a different filter. I know I will from now on.........

Like DigitalMan's review, I too decided to try to save some money and get the cheaper AquaFresh brand filter. I ordered a 3-pack in October 2008 from another online vendor for about $76 (about the cost of 2 by Pur). I also noticed the black particulates (maybe charcoal?) when installing the first filter. I ran several gallons of water through it (much more than is recommended) and it seemed to clear up, although I forgot to check later on. Today, I installed the second one and I'm not going to try the third. I must have run about 4 gallons of water through the line. After noticing some particulates in the water of the large gallon pitcher I was using, I switched between tap water and the refrigerator multiple times using a wine glass, allowing for the air bubbles to clear out. The tap water was clear, but the water coming from the Aquafresh filter had black particulates and a few white fibers as well. It may not be harmful (who knows), but the Kenmore/Pur brand filters I used before never had that problem. I'm going to order the more expensive brand filters again and will drink pure Schuylkill Punch (what we call the tap water in southeastern Pennsylvania) until the new filters come. I still believe that many times you CAN save money by shopping around for a cheaper brand with equal or better quality, but in this case that's not my experience which is why I'm taking the time to write this review.

This product is the worse thing i have every purchased in Amazon. There is a bad after taste from the filter. After about a month im going to have to purchase a new filter, this time im going to buy a brand name.

Sorry to say but it's true - these just are not very good filters. In fact, I have one in my hands now brand new from the box and it's so filthy (& it rattles -???) that I refuse to even install it. It's no fun to hassle with the return/exchange but it's either go through that headache or throw $23 in the trash.

I bought this AquaFresh WF285 filter as a replacement, specified by this web site as "AquaFresh Replacement Filter for Whirlpool 4396508". When it arrived and I pulled out the old filter from the fridge, (a Whirlpool 4396508 filter) the new one would not insert into the fitting. I compared both filters side by side and, although both are the exact same diameter and length, the valve fitting at the end with the o-rings is completely different. It would not insert or allow me to rotate it 90 degrees into operating position. Be very careful, look at your existing filter and compare it carefully with the zoomed-in views of the one you're buying. They are NOT direct replacements. - Whirlpool Water Filter - Refrigerator Water Filters - Fridge Filter - 4396508'

Spark Plugs

I have two Toyota Camrys. A 2004 SE and 2006 LE. Both have the same 4 cylinder engine. I have always been religious about checking the gas mileage on my cars at every fill up because this relays to me if anything has gone awry. The '04 had 115,000 miles and the '06 had 45,000 when I replaced the plugs. I replaced them mainly to see if it would help the fuel mileage; unfortunately for me, no difference. I'm sure they are good plugs as Bosch is well known for their high quality, however next time I will probably replace using the factory spark plugs. Bosch (4501) FGR8DQI Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plug, Pack of 1

I muat admit. I never did a tuneup on my 2002 Camry, I'm ashamed to say. time just got away from me. Then I noticed I was going to the pump far more often than I should. That forced me to think about a tuneup and replacing my plugs. Fortunately, I thought to spend the extra few dollars over the champions. No disrespect to them, but I just figured I'd put in the best since I was spending so much at the pump.

I put the these Bosch's in and boy oh boy!! I just had to check my consumption. I was averaging 32mpg after this tuneup procedure.

i'm satisfied. Never saw this type design before. Awesome!! worth every penny.

Six month ago I popped these in my vehicle and the car continues to run smoothly and like new. I can't say that they increase performance in a noticeable manner, but I can say they didn't decrease performance. I'm happy overall.

These have been running strong now for 30,000 miles. They start the car 1-crank faster and have not given me any trouble. Fuel economy is what it should be as well.

I will purchase these again when they are worn. Finally, a good spark plug from Bosch!

-- Update --

It's now been a few more years and I've accumulated 60,000 on the plugs with no issues whatsoever. The mileage has been great, fuel economy is normal, and car still cranks quickly. I am replacing them as a regular tune-up only. These are so good that I'm buying them again!

Although Lexus told me using their plugs, would stop my spark knock (which they didn't). The Bosch Platinum IR Fusion Spark Plug did the trick. Now my spark knock was upon take off from a dead stop and only lasted about a second. Do not know if these will help you if you constant spark knock (think you have larger problem).

Bought these hoping for better fuel efficiency. After much hyperbole, concluded that the really old spark plugs I was using delivered better milage regapped than these! What's that all about?

Car: 1992 Nissan Sentra

I know the first thing you will think is: you put them in the wrong car. Well, not according to Bosch. They worked, just fine. I just got the same or worse mileage when doing so.

3days and 350 miles on these and the VR6 Jetta has new life.Runing strong, full o pep.Code 411 has not returned after clearing code with new plugs. Have not studied mileage yet, but looking to increase for sure.

Expensive yes, but great peace of mind in having these.

I purchased Bosch spark plugs for both of our cars. After the intsallation the cars both had improved engine performance. When I took the spark plugs out of the box I saw the excellent quality amd workmanship that went into them. I would recommend this product to anyone thinking of tuning up their car or is in need of spark plugs. I also just installed Bosch wiper blades and they perform excellent and are well worth the higher price.'

I spent hours researching LED/LCD vs. Plasma. I don't like the artificial motion that the 120/240 LCD screens produce. I was also concerned about putting a plasma screen in our living room which has a lot of windows and a sliding glass door. After reading many reviews and finally comparing the set in-person, my wife and I purchased the 60" GT30 from Amazon.

Unfortunately, the first TV that arrived was cracked. After calling Amazon, they quickly ordered a replacement unit, and scheduled to have the broken one picked up.

After waiting another 7 days, we received the new unit--shipped by a different, and much more careful carrier. My wife and I couldn't be happier with our purchase. As previously mentioned, the TV sits in a very bright room, and looks fantastic. It is bright and the colors (especially in THX mode) are extraordinary.

While not a perfect experience (broken TV), Amazon once again provided exceptional customer service.

- One day after ordering the TV, a promotion was announced including 3D glasses with the purchase of this specific model. One email to Amazon, and I was quickly sent instructions on how to participate in the promotion, even though I "technically" didn't qualify.

- Amazon originally offered the lowest price for this TV when I ordered it. Even though the price was reduced by over $200 one week later, Amazon promptly provided a credit as part of their low price guarantee. Panasonic VIERA TC-P60GT30 60-Inch 1080p 3D Plasma HDTV

I never thought I'd own a plasma. I mistakenly thought plasma technology was outdated and inferior to LCD TVs, but after looking into it I learned that a majority of videophiles consider plasmas to have superior picture quality.

I'm so glad I looked into buying a plasma because the richness of the picture on this GT30 is incredible. I've had a 60" GT30 for a couple of months and I couldn't be happier with it.

Right out of the box I was super impressed with the GT30's modern design and construction. It's a very handsome tv. I considered purchasing the Samsung PN59D8000, but the darks of the GT30 were more impressive to me. I also prefer the black bezel on the GT30 over the smoked silver bezel of the Samsung.

The GT30 plays Blu-ray movies and games like Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 flawlessly. Even when standing only a few feet from this tv text displayed by the PS3 or a PS3 game is surprisingly crisp.

Ordered via Amazon and arrived in a week. The third party carrier service which Amazon uses created some confusion and refused to unpack the item for verification. We had to call Amazon customer care and resolved the issue. TV performance is excellent and overall happy with the purchase.

I research 60 inch flat screen Televisions over the past few month. After reading everything I was set on getting a Plasma vs LCD. I read reviews on this particular Panasonic and liked what I heard. I have only had the Television for approx 2 weeks and it has not disappointed me. The set up was easy and picture quality fantastic. At this point I have no regrets.

This TV is a very nice looking TV in the store. We ordered this and scheduled a delivery time at checkout. Amazon did honor their price match on the TV as the price dropped $200 after the ship date. Watch your timing because they only match the price once within 14 days. If we jumped when it dropped $50 we would have lost $150 extra price match.

When it arrived, the TV picture quality was great; unfortunately ours was defective. It had a large (3-4") wide blue and green vertical bar down the entire front of the TV. We returned it (scheduled a return pickup through Amazon and the carrier - you cannot send back the same day because you have to contact Amazon first). Our refund was rather prompt. The only downside with the TV is that with the glass screen it had quite a bit of glare. I would give it 4.5 stars if you are using it in a room with windows and 5 stars without. We returned to Best Buy and realized that nearly all TVs now have glass (vs. matte) screens - even LEDs/LCDs.

We looked at TVs again and ended up going with a Sharp 60" Plasma TV. The glare seems to be a little bit better and we are very happy with the 3D on it. Both TVs have similar features and both are very highly rated TVs. I'm sure ours was just a fluke with possibly being bumped in shipment.

You can certainly feel comfortable ordering large, expensive TVs through Amazon (be sure it's sold or fulfilled by Amazon). You can feel confident with both the 14 day price match and their free 30 day return policy. The TV does not have something "wrong" with it (like ours did) in order for you to return it for free. This is really nice that you can see it in your room without having to worry about having to pay to ship back what would normally be an expensive item to return.

I tracked the GT30 from the moment the release was announced during the winter. After receiving it and "playing" with it for a couple of months, I can safely say I love it now and will for many years. Here's my list:

- The contrast level particularly in anything less than a very bright room is amazing. I have a previous Panasonic plasma and had high expectations, but the new GT black levels are amazingly dark with whites that light the room. Conversely, in a sunlit bright room the picture has to be changed to something like the vivid setting to achieve great contrast. Given the shortcomings in LCD/LED (including my Sony), I think changing the picture setting is a minor inconvenience. Postings on the internet suggest avoiding the automatic ambient light sensor so I've disabled it -- therefore no comment on its' performance.

- Even off, it's beautiful. For many people, the TV replaces the fireplace as the new living room centerpiece. If you paid for stainless kitchen appliances, why not pay for a good looking TV.

- The internet apps are OK. The TV's processor seems to be slow in the selection and a bit clunky. I therefore have used very few apps. I'll probably try Amazon VOD and may update the review.

- The built-in sound is quite good, but at this point doesn't everyone have a surround sound receiver for movies?

- Delivery and setup was easy with lots of detailed options to "optimize". The video compression filter seems to counteract some my cable company's extreme compression.

- PS3 3D games are cool. Avatar in 3D is great, but I really haven't used 3D too much.

- The 60 inch screen seemed very big once installed. I've gotten used to it...

It's really everything I hoped for. - Hdtv - Panasonic Plasma - 1080p - 240hz'
