I installed these locks on my front and garage door a week ago and surprisingly it has been working flawlessly. I am using (Support Challenged) Micasa Verde Vera as Z-Wave gateway since it's too difficult for me to understand why to pay monthly costs to a service provider when I can do it for free with little or no learning but some patience. Here's my feedback and ovservation so far



Looks: Nice, I have brass and matches with other locks in the house from Schlage



Built: Typical Schlage - good



Adding it to Z-wave network "With Vera": Easy enough but I have go through an upgrade and plug-in



Adding Codes: I can add codes "4 Digit" only with names including the ability to control the day and time when the code will be active - example Maid Service or a Nanny who is about to retire. You cannot edit/modify the code but you can remove and re-add.



Lock/Unlock: From outside all you have to do is to enter your code, making sure, no one is watching with binoculars and you will hear a click and green LED. Turn the knob and it will open. To Close just hit the "Schlage" button after you turn the knob to lock. And yes it does not rotate the knob by itself like other model of Schlage but that is non-Zwave device. You can also use traditional keys to open or close. At night you can press the Schlage button first to illuminate the keys before entering the code - helpful.



Battery and battery life: It comes with 3xAA and 1x9 Volt battery and advertized life is too long to believe but so far I did not see even 1% drop after a week's use.



Status and Remote Operation: You can always see the status of the lock as "Lock" or "Unlock" from any web-browser/iPhone etc. Operate it from anywhere to let someone in.



Notification: You can program using Zwave gateway to send you notification Via SMS/Email alert case a particular code is used OR wrong code is used.



Fun/Programming: Being Z-wave you can trigger several events when a particular code is used including but not limited to switching on lights case it's dark or start thermostat to cool/heat your home. Each of these events require additional hardware/device or a module.



Security: Schlage lock and your Z-wave gate will secure the transmission over RF (Radio Frequency) using encryption keys (digital keys - something similar to when you access your bank over SSL/https web browser). This is from what I have read so far before purchasing and so far I am convinced that it is easier to find someone's keys under the doormat as compared to hacking the security of the lock with the exception of those binoculars or being careless to use easy numbers like 1234 (as my 5 year suggested me :-) for his code)



Elderly/Disabled: Terrific use to avoid going to the door to let someone in. Can combine with a motion sensor and an IP Camera to know who is at the door before clicking unlock.



Cons:

- Not a motorized lock. Case you forget all you can do is to program Z-Wave gate to remind you that door is still unlocked

- Incoming traffic is logged and you know when someone is coming in but there Is no way possible to know when someone leaves

- One more thing in life to make you couch potato especially when you combine with a motion sensor and an IP Camera at your front door.

Owning and managing a rental property is difficult enough. One real problem that has existed for years has been the management of access. Traditionally, keys would have to be mailed and returned, or staff hired to provide keys to renters and then collected. Keys can also be lost legitimately lost, leaving both the renter and property in a finger pointing battle. Push-button locks solve the lost keys, but people can share the access code. With Z-wave and Schlage Link, you gain the ability to control the lock remotely and add/remove access codes from anywhere in the world! With Schlage Link, I have the ability to create a housekeeping code and be notified every time it's used (by sms and/or email). I can also create property management codes and guest specific codes (that I can remove or disable when necessary. All remotely, from my computer or iphone. With Schlage Link and the provided light module, I can also power on/off lights when no one is in the property for protection (the light module also acts as a repeater should you need to extend the distance between the z-wave device and the door lock).



The quality of the Schlage hardware is typical: amazing. The lock looks beautiful on my door. The key-pad also lights up (by pressing the Schlage button) so as to be used in the dark. The batteries are expected to last close to three years depending on usage, keeping the locks accessible in the event of power or internet outage. Also the setup was an absolute breeze!



All in all, I am delighted with the hardware, the setup, the usage of the product, and the software/internet accessibility! I even purchased an additional dead-bolt and thermostat.

First the good, it works, connects to micasaverde's vera, so no need to subscribe and pay for schlage"s monthly service. I would have given it 5 stars except for the following issues.



Zwave range is not great. Also if you use micasaverde or schlage link, you need to have the controller within range of the lock or you need to buy a schlage light module which supports zwave security settings as the last link to the lock. A regular zwave light switch or node that does not support zwaves new security settings cannot be the last zwave link to the lock.



Also, schlage currently has no extension kit for the lever lock, (they say they have one for the deadbolt), so if you have a door that is not standard size (mine is 2 1/4" and will not work)you will have to rig something. - Door Levers - Z-wave - Zwave'

works when using 1/4" staples, but nothing larger. i bought it hoping to use 1/2" staples, but when using these you must hammer each one in after stapling. also, the trigger is quite hard to pull; i have to use both hands to pull it properly. Stanley TR150 SharpShooter Heavy Duty Staple Gun

This is a very solid, well-built staple gun. It's easy to load staples and is powerful enough to fire a staple into solid wood. It's a little harder to pull the handle than my previous Craftsman but not so bad as to alter my recommendation. - Staplers - Stapler - Staple Gun'

Composite Deck Screws - trex transcend, composite deck screws

If you have read the installation instructions for Trex, there are two specific screws they recommend for Trex Transcend. This is one of the screws recommended. There is a reason for this, and it is not just matching colors (though that is nice too.) I found out the hard way!



My experience with other fasteners:

I first started installing my Trex Transcend using the same composite screws recommended by my local lumber store that had worked great for their customers on other types of Trex for years, but they had not yet had customers use the Trex Transcend so they didn't really know better. I quickly got extremely frustrated because when the head of their recommended screw hit the Transcend it would not bury like you would expect because the head was too big. I knew something was wrong because the clutch on my drill/screwdriver was maxed out, and it still couldn't drive the head down. Instead, usually the head would sit on top until you cranked the screw so hard (I had to turn off the clutch completely on my screwdriver) that it stripped out the underlying joist and the head would just spin on top of the Transcend. Very frustrating. It seems to me that Trex Transcend is much harder than other types of Trex.



Every now and then I would get lucky and the screw would bury properly, but this was rare. I managed to get around this a bit by pre-drilling every single screw. This worked a little better, but not always and it was extremely tedious.



My experience with these screws:

In desperation I looked up the Trex installation instructions and found that these Phillips II high performance composite screws were specifically recommended. These screws were not available at any of my local hardware stores (I checked them all) but I found them here, so I ordered a few boxes.



Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised. The color exactly matched the Vintage Lantern color of my Trex Transcend! I also noticed that the head was significantly smaller than the other screws that I had been using. This gave me hope of improved performance. I tested them out and had a much, much better experience! The head of these buries nicely into the Transcend with no need to predrill!! If you angle the screw then you will experience a bit of a small mushroom on the side that you angled the screw to, but if you drive it straight in then there is no mushroom. Also, the head of these screws did not strip out anywhere near as easily as the other screws that I tried using.



In conclusion, I can't express how much headache this saved me! If you are installing Trex Transcend DO NOT use traditional composite decking screws! Use these instead. The smaller head buries nicely, and the colors match exactly. VINTAGE LANTERN BROWN 2-1/2" 5lb Composite Deck Screws

These screws are recommended on the Trex documentation!!!



I used the hidden fasteners on most of my 500 sq ft deck. There were a few areas where I needed to use a fastener. I looked around town at the big box stores and found nothing that matched very well. If you're going to use Trex Transcend, don't use a fastener that doesn't match. I also checked some of the specialty lumber and hardware stores. They had fasteners that were close, but the color didn't match very good.



These fasteners actually cost less than the fasteners I could get anywhere in town. Also, they match perfectly with the Vintage Lantern decking. You can barely see them. And, if you pay attention to your locations and spacing, they add to the decking.



Make sure you drill a pilot hole with a 1/8" bit (or maybe a bit smaller). Actually, practice with 2-3 screws on some scraps so you get the amount of drilling needed and the torque on your drill gun. These screws won't mushroom.



Nice! They even sent me some extra sample screws and a couple of philips drill bits. Worth the extra time for shipping and they may cost less then what you find locally.

I felt silly mail ordering deck screws for my deck. However, these screws do a much better job avoiding the mushroom or volcano affect that can crop up on composite decks. I tried the current brands available at the two big box hardware stores and these were clearly better. I also liked that I could order the darker brown from Phillips. The stores near me only provided the light brown and green screws which did not match my decking. It does take some practice to keep the screw and driver aligned to avoid popping it out and chipping off the paint on the screw head. This is not a big deal but it is worth driving a few screws into some scrap to get the hang of it before starting on deck.

These screws matched the Trex Vintage Lantern decking really well. Each box covered approx 100 square feet running joists 16" oc. These screws were nicer than the FastenMaser TrapEase screws that I've used. No mushrooming or breking screws. The only issue I had was the paint coming off on the screw head every once in a while. I purchased the MIIIFS stapler to lay approximately 1,700 sq. ft. of 3/4 inch red oak flooring in my new home. After installing well over 1,400 sq. ft. here are some of my observations:1) The tool makes it very easy for a novice to put down a nice, tight hardwood floor. If the boards are laying tight an easy swing of the mallet is all it takes to fully seat a staple (more on this later). If the board is warped the MIIIFS can stand up to a solid mallet smack without any trouble. The mallet's plastic face, by the way, does not show any signs of cracking so far.2) The stapler efficiently uses the its air so you do not need a big compressor. I have been using a 1.5 hp unit with a 6 gallon tank. Output is set at 85 psi. I doubt such a small compressor could supply two nailers simultaneously, but it handles one quite nicely.3) The stapler did develop a small air leak near the top shortly after I began using it. The amount of leaking is small (based on psi drop at the compressor) but does make a distracting noise. This leak does not affect the function or reliability.4) At your starting wall you need to face nail the flooring until you get about 6 inches from the wall. After that you'll have enough room to get the stapler into position.5) As you approach the far wall the stapler can be used up to the last 13 or 14 inches.6) As mentioned earlier the tool only requires an easy mallet smack. However, if you don't swing firmly enough the staple will not seat fully. This is usually caused by crowding against the far wall and not having enough room to swing the mallet.7) The firing knob is too stiff to actuate by hand reliably - the mallet is required. It would have been nice if there was a way to trigger the stapler by hand then you could use it much closer to the far wall.8) I have not had any problems with jamming. The unit I've been using has reliably shot every staple right down to the very last one in the magazine.9) I have heard some rumors of staple-style flooring nailers damaging the floor's tongue. After closely examining several hundred staples in oak I'd say that about 2 or 3 percent show any signs of tongue damage. Some of this infrequent damage is due to stapling through a knot or due to handling. Some is due to the MIIIFS. I'm not sure how this compares to nail-style nailers. Anytime you send a fastener through kiln dried hardwood you're bound to have some occassional splitting.Would I buy the MIIIFS again? You bet I would. Despite its few minor shortcomings this tool has saved me a LOT of work and the price is lower than other pnuematic nailers that I've looked at. As a professional building contractor I have tried several flooring tools, and can easily state that this is the best fastening system I have experienced for both unfinished and prefinished flooring. The staples hold better than cleat nails, and result in far less tongue splits as well. Surface marring and excessive tongue splitting are caused by improper or inexperienced operation of the tool, not by the tool itself.

I run a hardwood flooring company in Wyoming and have 3 of these units running all the time...They are durable and very dependable...we have been experiencing problems with the nuts and bolts holding the bottom plate on. Several of these bolts are in hard to reach areas and come loose and fall out several times a day. I would recommend this item to anyone, but I also would recommend that you buy a bottle of LockTite at the same time, And go through and LockTite all of the bolts, Other than that this is a awesome unit, We have one that is one of the very first air assist bostich nailers and it is still running strong. I purchased this nailer from Amazon to lay 3/4" hardwood flooring in several rooms in my house. I have since fired about 5000 staples through it without any problems whatsoever. This stapler is very well designed ergonomically and mechanically. The mallet is big and somewhat massive in weight but there is a purpose in that. It takes very little effort and just a slight tap to drive a staple because it is pneumatic. So if a board lays nice and straight, then a slight tap will suffice, but if you have a somewhat uncooperative piece of flooring, then you will appreciate the heft of the mallet because it will cause the most finicky of boards to come together and lay tightly. The handle is long and fits well in your hand. Consequently your not bent over as much. My first floor laid was oak and I've started my second which is brazillian cherry. This wood is extremely heavy and dense. This stapler does not care how hard the wood is, it just works and flawlessly at that. After all isn't that what you want from a tool, flawless performance!

I've installed thousands of feet of hardwood with the M111FS and it has, so far, worked flawlesly. The hammer activated model does a nicer job than the older trigger activated one. The light mallet blow required is just enough to drive the board being fastned tightly against the existing work for a tight joint and at the same time offering resistance against the driving mechanisum to insure uniform and propper seating of the staple.

I have received (2) Staplers and both units developed identical operating problem within (5) hours operating time. A small air leak developed upper section below rubber driving cap. Shortly after air leak developed 8 to 10 staples, units stopped operating.I have checked operating procedures and have found no problem. Have discussed problem with other users that had rented unit from Home Depot and was told they experienced absoultely no problem. Even after 20 hours of hard use, rented unit operated perfectly for them. I have request another unit and am in the process of shipping these defected (2) Units back. Also have e-mailed Bostitch and requested technical support.

If you have ever used a hard wood nailer that wasn't pnuematic, you'll want all that time back once you get your hands on one of these. Fast and easy to use. I've used one for years with no problems or regrets. - Staplers - B000f3i5zy - Bostitch - Cpo Bostitch'

I like this package tape it is almost 2 inches wide, thus wide enough to cover well were the box ends meet, and comes off the roll easy. ***DO NOT LET CHILDREN UNDER 12 USE THIS*** Why 4 stars because the red plastice guide has a very sharp metal edge for cutting the tape. It is easy to cut your finger ( I cut mine). So be carelful when using. I would still buy this again, but be more careful when using. Perfect for a boy or girl Clone Wars fan. My son and daughter split the pack and had plenty for both of their rooms. Easy to reposition. Recommend an adult to peel them from the paper so the lightsabers don't get torn off as that part of the sticker is skinny. My six year old son loved these appliques. We first used them as decorations for his birthday party and then moved them to his bedroom. They are a great size, not too small and have a good variety of characters. The material is stronger than some I have purchased in the past and do not easily rip when repositioning them.

This package contains four pages of wall decals. The smallest is about 3 inches while the largest is approximately ten inches. There's about 28 decals total. They take a few minutes to put up and are an easy way to perk up the room of a young stars fan. The glow in the dark effect didn't work for us, but my five year old was thrilled regardless.

We purchased these for my son's room and were very happy with the end result. the stickers go right on the wall, requiring minimal effort ("installation"). they seem to hold up well, i even re-positioned them a few times. We have very light color walls and the end result looks great.. do keep in mind that if you're buying other, larger characters (which are also great), that there'll be a LOT of stickers; but we're still very happy with the purchase.

My 6-year-old loves these decals. He can put them anywhere he wants, and rearrange them from time to time. They stick well and look great.



The reason they get four stars is because the glow in the dark feature is very weak, even with deliberate efforts to shine light on them for an hour before lights-out.



Even though they don't glow very well, I am happy with these decals and as my kids' tastes change, I wouldn't hesitate to buy more versions or characters of these decals again. At about $10, they are a good value and an easy way to change the look of their rooms.

Purchased for my 4 year old nephew, he loved them and they were so easy to move and restick when he changed his mind about where he wanted them :-) Only thing I would complain about is that the glow in the dark feature is a bit weak. The glow is not very bright, almost non-noticable.

Our son loves these wall stickers. He's built a big batter scene with them around a larger Yoda sticker. Things he likes:

there are about 15-20 stickers of characters and ships he recognized

there are 8-10 of the stickers with glow in the dark light sabers

And I like that they were easy to stick to the wall and are staying stuck right



Downsides:

(he didn't care but I felt a little cheater) there are only about 15-20 character and ship stickers, even though the description states 28. The remaining stickers are stylized text that says "star wars" or "jedi knight" and some other odd logos. I'm sure the count is correct, but I think most kids would ike this more if all the stickers were something actually from the movies or games.

Only the light sabers glow in the dark. So only 8-10 of the stickers glow.

These look realy cool in my bedroom. I would recommend this to anyone who likes the Clone Wars TV series. Well worth the price and the wait. The wall decals are:

These glasses are pretty nice. Light weight. I only have a few quibbles...



They are NOT clear. The indoor/outdoor ones are slightly mirrored which is not OK with my employer (must be clear). But so far they haven't made me get new ones.

If you're into construction, technician work and you're in need of safety glasses this is it! Very Light in weight, comfortable around the ears, and clear vision for you to work all day. This is my first purchase and I love it very stylish sometimes i even forget that I'm wearing them :) I highly suggest these for anyone interested in Safety glasses.

These safety glasses fit very well, and do the job. I usually use 140mm glasses (width), and these fit very well. I found them because they were recommended for folks with larger faces or heads.



No scratches, as the one reviewer complained. Seem to be of good quality.

I've ordered two of these and both came with lenses scratched on sides.

Too shiny for my taste (supposed to look chic?).

Good thing these glasses are light, wrap around your head well and stay there.
